Tbh i just imagine it being a "activate hook" to fix it, no real time taken. i mean you can literally get rid of his power by saboing every trap in the map, he needs a lil help i think
It might be useful only if you could do it while carrying a survivor. It is about the only time I would actually use it (especially against Jeff groups with toolboxes after last patch)
yeah no deffinately i agree, give it like a 3 second repair time, lessened with the tools addons
That might actually be useful with Jeff's new perk. There have only been a few occasions where I have been completely out of hook range (due to broken hooks), but it has cost me a kill. And usually swf coordinate which hooks to sabo, so it might be a good swf/Jeff counter.

End of story.
Rage quitting should never be something you do. Can't handle the game and the everything that comes with it? Don't play. I've never understood why people DC, just take it and move on to the next match.
Getting thrashed as killer? Getting tunneled as survivor? Getting camped? Flashlighted with every downed survivor? Just keep playing and move on, a DC won't do you or anyone else any good.

But then what happens when a fun time turns into a bad one? Where a game where you thought you had fun then causes stress? No one plans to have a bad day. I say there’s two types of rage quitters. The ones that DC because they simply can’t accept a loss and then there are those that become so stressed through a multitude of things that they have no say over (like a SWF communicating to sabo hooks right in front of the killers’ faces).
It is not healthy for some. Stress, for me, is detrimental due to my Diabetes and how stress increases the glucose produced in my liver, therefore able to make me ill.
If playing this game causes your stress levels to get to unhealthy levels, I believe even the developers would agree it might be in your best interest to play something else.
If this were the dbd e-sports championship and there was 3 million dollars on the line, it might be worth it.
But it's not. So it's not.

How do you guys feel about it? I’ve only ever DC’d due to massive spikes in Lag and when I’ve been tunnelled after my second hook.
I almost always tunnel someone who has been hooked twice. Why would I miss a chance to take a survivor out of the game?
Sounds like you DC due to massive lag spikes AND when you know you have already lost.
I would like you to keep in mind that the “know I’ve already lost part” has only happened once and that was due to a Legion often injuring the person they were in a chase with but leaving that person to tunnel me because, and I presume this, because I had Decisive.
That sounds frustrating but it's still a DC. Sometimes killers tunnel or camp for whatever reason...and it doesn't make it suck any less for that survivor. I would say that if you're solo, it's best to take the sac and move on to next game.
It sucks if you are in SWF though because you have to wait for the rest of the group, and I believe this is one of the (many) flaws of SWF.
There are a few games where I get rekt as killer and I just want the game to end (dumbass survivors sitting in exit gates teabagging when they could just run out; single survivor playing hide and seek after exit gates are open) and I wish I could just concede and move on....but I can't because DC'ing is against the rules, but THAT is a topic for a different thread!
It's a double standard and one of the reasons I play this game for a month or two...then get burnt out of all the juvenile antics...then eventually come back and play again.

True. But what's to keep instant down slug builds from knocking down everyone, and leaving them to bleed out while the killer gathers the objectives at their leisure? Both sides are going to be at the other's throats even more so than the previous events.
I don't know....killers will still need to stop the survivors but will have a distraction. All the same survivor tricks apply...jukes, stuns, stealth.
It will probably only be an issue when a lone survivor and a killer are at the same spot.

I would like killer twins/triplets.
Control 1 at a time, the other acts as a stationary "sentry". Takes a moment to switch between them and the active one is the only one that can hit a survivor. There is no map or radar icon to indicate where your twin is, but possibly able to see his aura.

I always have enjoyed Freddy but have found it far too easy for survivors to wake up.
ALso, once in the dreamworld, good survivors can out maneuver you since you are really just an m1 killer at that point.
I don't want his power to change dramatically, but I want it to be more challenging for survivors to wake up and I want SOME sort of POWER to be useful in the dreamworld. I mean, c'mon...he owns that world but all he can do is walk after people and slash. Seems silly.
PS: it might be interesting for him to be able to use lockers as a sort of "portal" in the dream world...just an idea.

Looking at it from an outside perspective, the Democrats are nowhere near as bad as the Republicans, and are often more proactive in "cleaning house", as it were. Whereas Republicans defend pedophiles, homophobes, racists, and neo Nazis, as long as they're in their party (which the latter three usually are), Democrats will force such people to resign.
I am going to disagree with you whole-heartedly on that. When you get to the extreme on both sides, you have some pretty ridiculous and exclusive ideology. Far right is more "face-value" (IE: no _____'s allowed!). Far left is much more indirect (You are not allowed to do _____ so that this person can do it instead).
Both are terrible and both redirect attention from the root of the problem, which is probably the goal of bipartisan politics lol!

LOL that user is the best player in 1 rank who is everybody agree with it.
Please don't treat me as 100+ hours easy noob.
What kind of mind game do you mean?
You can't do mind game when the killer is nurse.
Mind game is basically need the factor that you can run away from killer. Then that player is still not that good. The Nurse is the very best Killer, if the player is also very good. That means that she requires Survivors who are equally good. If you lose to the Nurse, then you're just not as good as the player using her.
Your logic is keep trying to say that the reason they got slaughtered is bad skill of survivors.
You don't understand how OP nurse is.watch an example ( in this video, all they are highly skilled survivors. The reason they are low rank is there was recent rank refresh.) :
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=orrt2qZU_gsMy logic is that the Nurse loses when the person playing her is worse than the Survivors, and the Nurse wins when the person playing her is better than the Survivors. Your logic is like saying that if I lose against my kiosanim (yes, I practice Taekwondo), it's not because I'm worse than him or because he's better than me, but rather because he's cheating in some way.
@Orion I agree with you about nurse. If every killer was like nurse nobody would play killer. She has a very steep learning curve. I think this game needs at least one or two killers that have that terribly high learning curve because there are certainly players who wish to invest the time to learn and become good with them.
Most newer players are probably pretty bad with her. I am not that great myself and I have been playing (on and off) since beta, but for me, the time investment to get good with her isn't worth it. Others likely love the learning curve and knowing that they can practice with her to become better.
The same would be true for survivors. To the OP: Imagine how skilled you will feel when you escape against a very skilled nurse.

ok make DS a part of the game.Okay, there are two sharp objects found in every match and whoever finds them gets 1 free DS.
I have mentioned it in other threads but someone brought up the idea of ripping off a piece of generator to gain DS to be used during the trial. It results in a reduced percentage generator repair and the more survivors who take it, the greater that percentage.
I loved this idea when I first read it. Everyone has access to DS. Survivors who rarely get downed don't have to take it. It won't take up a peek slot. There is a penalty for gaining its use.
Most important (like.Making NOED part of the base game): Nobody can rag on you post game.for taking a "crutch perk".
Put both in the game. Attach a penalty (ie: killer has to light the totem or something) and everyone wins.

Honestly, I'm so bored of playing survivor, I dread when my wife asks. If we face a Legion or a serious camper, I'll suicide (Legion) or dc. I want to have fun. Having fun means getting to participate in a chase, a back and forth. If I die, so what. If I die fast, it happens. But playing an M1 simulator while some azzhat camps another player is not fun. Boring af. Legion is also boring af to play against. Would rather die quickly and get to the next match. Yes, there are times in which camping isBefore anyone goes off about toxic this and that, I don't loop much. I tend to try and lose los and move to stealth. To me, looping is delaying the enevitable. I'd rather try to outright lose the killer.
That is not to say that there are no times in which camping is truly the best strategy, and those don't bother me at all. Faced a really fun LF the other night. Got the doors open and 3 of us were still left with one on the hook. He SMARTLY camped that hook. We worked and worked to save that survivor, we got to him just as he died though. The other two got out. We had a very fun and congratulatory conversation afterwards. Great match, lots of fun!
Self sacrifice on the hook is always an option. In fact, I would prefer it since it allows me to camp super fast and then resume the chase before the other survivors can finish any gens! I am all for hook-assisted-suicide.

Why does trapper have traps? He already has a MACHETE. What on earth could he possibly do with TRAPs? And why does it slow survivors down when they step in them? So broken...So stupid...

@powerbats said:
@Attackfrog said:
Ok I can agree that it helps but to say it's a survivor buff would if you want to be semantical about it only accurate part of the time since when the basement isn't there the hook can still spawn there.
But how many people were actually hooked on it from further away ie they got taken to that hook even though it wasn't the closest? How many got downed right there or even inside the shack but the killer still went for the outside one?
Now how many survivors actually got stuck there, I know i've been stuck on it a few times but that's probably only 1% of my matches where I got downed there. Most of the times I got hooked there it was because the basement wasn't there.
Is it a difficult loop yes, but they removed the double windows and if anything it makes you chase the tiles better in the long run not needing a crutch hook there.
Now this will probably get me flamed from some survivors but an interesting idea occurred to me regarding the loop here. Since it's a unique area why not have it be affected by the Entity's window blocking sequence similar to windows?
For instance if you go through the same doorway 3x in quick succession the entity blocks the doorway the same way it'd block the window being used. that way you can still use the shack to loop and break los for a get away but can't use it forever.
Since there's only 2 doorways and 1 window you get a few loops there and if the killers running Bamboozle you'd get 3 loops max before you got locked out.
@Moderator Thoughts?
Ok, now I think we might be on the same page. I can see the semantic angle, but you have to remember: I almost never play as survivor (a daily here or there...but...yuk..), so anything that helps a survivor in any way, no matter how minor, will be blown out of proportion by my killer-sided brain!
You are right, I am not sure how many people used that hook. I know I used it if I downed one right next to it and there was a nother survivor right there, sort of as a quick hook before I chased the second. Having to go to the basement would have made me lose that second survivor but if I think back to those, the outside hook was far easier to rescue from (obviously) and I probably should have just hooked in the basement.
The entity blocking idea is good. That loop is just terrible, but then again, I don't play often enough to be as good at mind-gaming it like some streamers, so against good survivors, I get owned. Usually, if they are really good, I just break chase and find someone else. It's not a great strategy.

I have similar experiences when camping. NOED pops, 4 survivors remain, I hook 1 with insta-down,, I camp, 3 flock to the hook like moths to a flame, I insta down one, the other two keep trying to pull me off hook...I insta down the 3rd and chase the 4th until I down him/her. Then I get "called out" for camping lol.I love it when survivors get outplayed and they turn a 4scape into a 4k.
Who tf camps when using NOED. Just use Bloodwarden with NOED and you can turn it into a proper 4k.
Camping is OK after gates are open but camping with NOED means 1 of 2 things:
1) You're super salty that they ran you.
2) You must be really desperate for that kill.
But yeah I'd recommend running BW if u run NOED. Remember me is a good option too.
I camp with NOED if I have 0 kills. It's not not my initial strategy but Sometimes it works great (clearly).
And whatever combination of perks I used was clearly the right combination....because I 4k'd.
It only works against bad survivors though. Good ones will cleanse the totem, rush the hook (getting the one hit and exit.
Yeah I don't know how potato that team was to rush a hook with NOED. Lol.
Bad. Very bad. But sometimes it's worth doing (as killer) for.just that scenario. Easy 4scape, turned into 4k, then they call me the "bad killer".
And they are right...I made it to end game with 0ks. That's bad.
They turned it into a 4k.
That's worse lol!True but quick question: Does NOED get you extra kills in EVERY game or do most of yours end with you winning?
I personally end up winning before gates are powered which is why I don't like NOED. But I'm curious if it actually helps some players because my idea of it is, is that it doesn't help a killer improve at all since they use it as a crutch but can you tell me what it does for you and if you feel like you can do well without it.
Sorry, to clarify: I run NOED on only a few killers. It's really risky and most killers have other perks that are better used (or so I think). When I do run it, by the time it pops, I have either done a bad job (4 survs left, in which case they are usually pretty good...I can maybe get a hit in before they cleanse it or escape...this would be an example of it being a crutch. If I am using it as a crutch, I am using it wrong) or if I am doing decent, there might be two left, in which case it helps me slug one, chase the last (though sometimes he/she will cleanse it before I find him/her) and sometimes it gets me another kill or two.
It is very rare when I run against good survivors that I get more than 1 hit after it pops. I run it almost always on Doc and I play a 3 gen, prolong the game strategy, so I am usually down to 2 survivors by the time NOED pops, I get the 3rd down and can usually easily find the 4th through madness. It just makes for a VERY long game, but consistent 3-4 k's if the survivors aren't paying attention to gen placement. If they do, then I am just screwed lol.
Bottom line is I take it anticipating a quick cleanse but to get me that first hit in once exit gates pop. On doc it just works so great because he has great tracking, but his shock and chase are not that great. That one hit with only 2 survs left makes a huge difference (but you really have to whittle them down to 2).
And sometimes I take it on Myers just to camp at end game and be a dick (nobody thinks you have it, and you surprise 1 shot them in EWII when they rush the hook...lol). In that scenario, they inevitably get the last laugh because if there are that many survivors left at end game, I have already lost...I'll maybe get 1k, but the post game salt is worth it...and there is always a chance for the scenario in my original post lol.
I am still pretty bad at nurse, so I will take it on her, and sometimes it gets me a down. But again, I am using it as a crutch on her because I almost always get to exit gates with her, it's nice to get a down in there. But then it's usually cleansed.
I have taken it on Billy because he is good without any perks and if I get to end game, they are probably good survivors (at least better than me on Billy) so they probably assume I am not running NOED (who would, right?), so you can M1 and down them, sometimes get 1 or two, just because they assume you aren't running it and will sacrifice a first hit for each other. It's fun, but hit or miss.
LF, spirit, Freddy, I don't take it on. I sometimes will even take Franklin's over NOED because I get more use out of it, especially if there is a Jeff and several toolboxes in a group. Without Franklin's, there's no hooks left against those guys lol!

You it's a survivor buff, me it's being fixed due to improper distance calculations now see how one of us is using logic and the other nonsense?
I don't think you read my post. I never said I needed that hook, just that the only time it has ever come in handy has been when a survivor ran into it. By removing it, you remove the chance that a survivor would run into it; that would be considered a (small) survivor buff.
You saying it's a survivor buff is nonsense since it's not supposed to be there when the basement is there, me saying it's not a survivor buff is logical due to my reasoning.
>
It may also have been improperly distanced. Is it possible we could both be right? Me: yes. You: Attackfrog is being "illogical" (which is funny, because if you read my post, you would see that I was actually being quite logical. Now that I've proven which one of us was using the logical argument and facts to back it up and which was posting nonsense the one with the blinders on would be you.
Again, you're just being both "illogical" and argumentative. Your lack of ability to see it from a Killer's side only strengthens that perspective.
Also if you needed that hook to close a chase then you didn't deserve to get them down since you either need to chase better or not chase their at all.
Take a look at my first point. Also, that loop is one of the most challenging to counter as a killer. I do believe most killers would agree. When you take away a feature that has a chance (no matter how small) of tripping up a survivor, you have a survivor benefit.
PS: I always lol when people say "deserve"...as if there is some sort of entitlement or that getting a kill/escape is somehow earned through effort. If I have to work hard for a down, am I more deserving? If I get a down through survivor error, do I "deserve" it? If someone escapes because the killer sucks at Nurse blinks, do they "deserve" it? Should I get more points if I "deserve" a kill/escape more? Who makes that call? You? The developers? Should we take a vote? Lol, surely you can see how THAT is illogical?

It went both ways in my opinion.I agree on hooking people there to maintain pressure instead of wasting precious time going downstairs. What's the point of hooking in the basement if you're not going to hard patrol or camp, anyway?
However, most of the times that stupid hook got in the way when trying to hug walls, creating an even more frustrating loop to chase around in the shack, as a killer.
A sweet spot would be a couple of meters away, but that's my killer bias...
I always get stuck on it when I'm playing survivor since I'm looking back to watch the killer. Annoying.
Yup. Pretty much makes that loop easier for survivors now. It was a hook I rarely (if ever) used but Sometimes it helped block a survivor looking back at me.
Another over all survivor buff.
Yep another biased blinders post, I mean it's not like this was done because the hook spacing was being improperly done or anything like that.
Since there's 4 more hooks closer than they should be so if you want that hook to stay there you lose all 4 basement hooks. So go ahead and complain about it being a survivor buff since if you want it to be one you lose your basement hooks.
Now what's more important losing 4 permanent non sabotage able basement hooks that make a nice trap area or 1 measly hook a few meters away?

Having it every game (as part of the game...no perk or totem) would make for less salt: no survivors crying that I took a "crutch" perk post game. It would also make all survivors play as if they needed to escape in endgame instead of the silly dallying that occurs now.
I think it would actually result in fewer end game 4ks because survivors have nothing to cleanse and couldn't wait around for that obligatory slap.
The only time current NOED results in a 4 k for me is when survivors feed me if I camp a hook. Currently, I can get maybe 1 down before it's cleansed or survivors catch on.
Making it obligatory at end game would actually make for a much more tense end game with less of the ridiculousness you see now.
Then again, I also think DS should be available to every survivor at some point (earned) throughout the trial.
Making these perks as a part of the game would reduce a lot of the post game hate

Currently it is just far too easy for survivors to wake up. Good survivors do it almost instantly.
Even in dream world, he is just an m1 killer. It would be nice to have some sort of POWER in the dream world, since you know, he has almost limitless power in EVERY SINGLE MOVIE in the dream world.

Tiny step in the right direction, but a very long way from a solid balance.

I back up when they try to 360 me. I can use the larger hit box (still not very realistic...) to my advantage while I look slightly down.
I play on pc but the step back might help widen the range.

I think "toxic" play can be reported as much as people want but they don't hand out bans for it.I think they only ban for post game chat abuse, hacking and holding the game hostage.
So you should be good to play toxically til your heart's content!
yes but I got reported anyways~~ someday may get banned maybe ;(
Nah, you wouldn't get banned for playing like that, unless you were somehow holding the game hostage or EXTREMELY griefing the same player.
I would bet you are good to go!

Didn't take long to get the first triggered killer to reply, good job OP

Actually, you replied before me, so you get the reward.
But i wasn't triggered 😕
But you were clearly champing at the bit to bash camping killers.
Figured I would share a fun story of my own.

The only counter to D'S would be a perk that allows a survivor to be replaced on the hook after an escape with a successful skill check. That is the only thing that is comparable.
DS will never change because devs are scare from the comunnity (survivors) so stop crying about it and accept your defeat by an crutch perk, You must understand that this game is asymmetric and that both parties must have the same power. The survivors share have Ds and the killers share rancor, if the rancor aura reading is bad but for something there is bitter murmur ... Or maybe this is a good idea for a perkthat finally counter ds
You start the match with 4 tokens, (it will depend on how many obsession perks there are in the match) if you fail a hit 1 token is consumed ..
I wouldn't say I was crying, but people do try to compare DS to killer perks like NOED and rancor. These are not analogous because currently, killers do not have any perk that simply allows us to hit a skill check and get a free "do-over".
DS is a passive perk that gives survivors a 2nd chance after being caught. There is literally no downside to taking the perk, other than it takes up a perk slot, which all perks do...so with that logic, all perks have that same "down side". Granted, you may not use DS in a game, but if you are not using it, you are not getting downed.
Therefore, you are probably a pretty good survivor, thus solidifying the notion that DS is, indeed, a crutch for bad survivors. This brings us back to the original point: why are we rewarding bad survivors for getting caught?

Lol it could be called "Gun Smarts" where she chooses to use a long gun (rifle) to hunt Myers in her home, after just an hour earlier pointing out how a revolver is smarter because it doesn't jam and a pistol grip shotgun is "tactical" (both of which would have been better options to hunt him with inside her house lol).
Rant /over

Oh man, I thought this thread was going to be about feelings and emotions.
Wow, I was way off.

I just played a few games as killer on the ptb and I'm really surprised at how much the audio for killers has improved. Seems even better than before the last patch that introduced these sound bugs. Honestly, if there's anything I'd change though it's making the footsteps while running a tad louder and the footsteps while walking or crouching a tad quiter. Though that's only coming from my experience from a few matches.I haven't been able to play it yet so I was wondering if anyone has noticed a difference. I am very glad you did and it sounds (pun lol) better now.
It was VERY frustrating after last patch so I am very excited to give it a try now. The sound is/was one of my favorite parts of this game.

There are certain killers that I love using NOED on and it builds in great. It is a tremendous risk, to take it though, since you may get one down before survivors figure out you have it and cleanse it.
If 4 survs make it to NOED...then yeah, I did bad as a killer. Then again, many times at that point, the survivor I down is anticipating a necessary second hit and is usually being cocky.
People that spout off about it being for "bad killers" are the ones being downed by it. And if they are being downed by a "bad killer", well...you can do the math.
