I think it’s funny that you assume survivors Are the ones who lose their minds around here. Especially after thread after thread it has been nothing but attacking the devs over ruin. EVEN THOUGH we all know that you can still play and win without it.
It is hilarious the double standard that you guys ( complainers) have.
I am not saying that killers don't lose their mind over the Ruin nerf. That would be a ridiculous statement considering the mounting evidence against it. I am simply saying that the developers will never apply the same treatment to survivors, by removing toolboxes, because the outcry would be even greater.
-
If they really wanted data on vanilla geneeratorspeed, they would also remove toolboxes. But survivors would lose their mind over that, so that's not happening obviously.
-
Well, for the devs thats unfair ... for the survivors.
"The passive nature of the gameplay pressure it provides means that there is a huge amount of potential with very little effort or risk on behalf of The Killer. "
For them the risk of the killer being cut down to 3 perks right off the bat of the match is not okay ... again, for the survivors.

I mean, yes, but no, I like the chases, but the moment I de-pip even if I escaped cause all I did was get chased sucks...
See, this is your first mistake. Caring about an inheretly flawed "ranking" system.
-
Decisive Strike, Unbreakable, Borrowed Time, Dead Hard.
Run that, and no killer can kill unless your team is potato, or a mori is involved.
If you don't like that, play killer and get stressed out.
-
Or maybe fix all the bugs, instead of pumping out more cosmetics at the speed of sound?
-
She has the curves you need to evade looping.
Also she got the prettiest hands. The scars all over them only add to the flavour.
-
Considering that the devs can't even get their ######### together on the PC-version optimisation-wise, I don't think they are able to takle the console optimisation any time soon.
But hey, atleast we are getting more cosmetics!

Does that kind of perpetuate that its her skill ceiling that is higher, and not that she is necessarily as bad as people believe she is?
If it's possible for someone to do well with her, even if its difficult, its possible for everyone.
Doesn't change the fact that she is simply unfun to play. What is the point of a strong killer is she is unfun? Survivors get changes all the time, because they were unfun before. The Nurse's fun.factor got downgraded.
-
@ReallyBigShoe said:
In my experience - if you relied on addons as opposed to her base kit, you aren't going to do well with nurse. I'd say a lot of nurse mains suffered from this problem. Reliance on addons.
People like Marth, Tru3 etc...they all still rip rectums opened with nurse. It's just a matter of actually being good at her playstyle, and managing your blinks correctly. There's just a less forgiving recovery speed if you mess up a blink.
Tru3 and Marth destroy with any killer, really.

Am I the only one experiencing the nurse bugs? I don't touch her because it seems like her blinks

I understand having fun with a lot of the goofy comments on these forums, but you shouldn't do that while at the same time adding your own goofy comments to the fire. Carried by nurse? You do realize she was/is the one killer that required a lot of getting use to and skill to use? Now if you want to say people are getting carried by freddy that is fine. He is extremely powerful and requires very little skill to play well. Nobody was carried by nurse though. If you dominated with nurse it's because you put the time in to be able to do so.
You are not alone. Her blinks and post-blink lunges are completely broken right now. Dedicated servers and her rework introduced so many gamebreaking bugs to her. To the point that ######### hurts her more than the actual nerf itself.
-
All the killers are playing survivor now.
-
Killers are just AI, what are you talking about?
-
Since they reworked one of the most killer-sided maps, Lery's, instead of reworking the multitude of survivorsided maps .... my bet would be Hawkins.

*Switchpullers in the background : Yes do exactly that PLS !!*
To get back to the original post, there are two things operating for this to happen. Distance between the players causing delay as you said, but also servers tickrate. So even with people being in the same country, you'll witness some random hits occuring because clientside he might be in range and the game will register a hit where from the survivor POV the killer started the windup animation more or less 3m away from you ( 1m over 0.2 sec " windup" + 2m over 0.3 sec "hurtbox" ) assuming you kept running, it shouldn't have hit you but it does.
Nothing stops you from lagswitching on dedicated servers. Hit detection is still clientside.
-
Or mabye drop this entire dedicated servers crap, and go back to the P2P system, which worked perfectly fine.
-
Allowing us to unteach teachable perks would be a great start.
For exmple, in my unlimited wisdom, I unlocked Hangman's Trick like a year ago. Now however I know for a fact, that I would never use that trash perk, unless I am going for Amanda's achievent (which I am not). However now I am stuck with that on every of my killers.
-
360ing wouldn't work so well if the sound in this game was working correctly. Before, when the survivor disappeared from your field of view, you could hear their footsteps and just move your camera towards them. But now that you can't hear survivors anymore, they can just disappear and run away with no telltale for the killer whatsoever.

DS was ever fun to verse for killers? Any counters? Need me to list all the op survivor perks that are absolutely no fun to deal with? I’m a rank 1 survivor and a rank 1 killer. I think Infectious Fright is balanced and easy to counter.
I am just saying that the developers most likely shadownerfed Infectious Fright, because survivors were annoyed by it. Just like they shadownerfed footsteps and grunts of pain, because the killer wasn't behaving like an AI.
-
In general it would be quite interesting if all statistics the developers collect were available to everyone. There is no excuse to not show us them, unless Behaviour is hiding something.
-
But Infectious Fright is nOt FuN tO vErSe FoR sURvIvOrS.
-
I am all for dark maps, as long as they bring back the old sound system where you could hear people atleast.
-
On an unrelated note, I like the Unrelenting + Wooden Horse combo. If it wasn't for the cooldown on blink, that could actuallly be quite solid.
-
Well, PC players warned you, but you guys didn't listen.
-
Nurse is one giant bug right now. One half of them got introduced with dedicated servers, the other half with her rework. Seeing the developers just not caring about it at all makes me just sad. Her basekit nerf butchered her enough. The bugs are just rubbing salt into the wound.

I just had a huge discussion with friends of mine about this. And i can not understand that either.
I mean, why shouldn´t you be able to kick a gen with that new ruin?
The whole thing with the new ruin is that you lose progression on gens, while not continuing to work on them. That means the new ruin drops the gen-progression AS IF the killer damaged the gen, right?
The killer should possibly still be able to damage the gen and get rid of gen-progression even faster, imo. What´s the matter of not being able to damage a gen and gather points? Shall we all wait until they cleansed ruin?
Correct me if i am wrong..
Its a budget solution. Instead of designing a new status effect around Ruin, they just went with the cheapiest and laziest way, make it the regular regression. And the regular regression says that you can't kick it twice.
-
Dedicated servers break anything in the game.

Why do people keep saying this, that only applies if the entire team does it... if the other team is solo then at least one of them will start a gen. Actually if two hide and two do gens that is even better for you.
keep track of how many games you play with or against Corrupt, and really how many times the survivors literally hide the entire two minutes. I’m guessing the number will be low.
I am not using generator slowing perks versus unoptimal groups. I can very well deal with those perkless too. I am talking about good survivors, that know how to effectively combat what the killer is throwing at them. Versus those, Corrupt Intervention basically prolong the loading scrren for another 2 minutes.
-
SInce the icons are rather simplicistic, you could always use a Scalable Vector Graphic, and scale to the size of your likings.
-
Why not inspire your design by the ISS?
Unless of course you are telling me that the ISS is fictional ...
-
Please no more features. Every features introduces dozens of bugs, some gamebreakign that take ages to fix (if they affect killer).

Again, I am so strongly against the Ruin change, but I think Corrupt fills in admirably here. It generally forces them to run farther than normal to start their first gen, and since you only have to patrol 4 for the first two minutes you’ll be pushing them off of them a lot.
It will have a similar slowdown effect to Ruin, but to be fair Ruin always has that chance to be hidden well at last 5+ minutes in which case it was absolutely crippling to most survivors. Those games where I knew I played badly but somehow won, I won’t get those games anymore which is fair.
Corrupt Intervention can be hard countered by survivors, by simply not working on any generators for the 2 minutes. So unless you are Trapper, Hag, or Demogorgon, you are not getting any value out of it.
-
I use it on my Nurse. 20m blink range + 24m terroradius means that you can get a free hit on generators.
-
They can't even optimise the PC version. For a game with such bad graphics and such small maps, its just runs horrible. So my guess would be they won't be fixing console framerates too any time soon.
I am sorry.
-
But you only have 4 perkslots. What am I gonna replace from my DS, DH, BT; Adrenaline meta build for This is not Happening?
Reeee
-
The Decisive Strike change did cause alot of players to leave the game. So a Ruin change will cause people to leave the game as well naturally.
-
@Internet_Police said:
Or just maybe it will teach new players not to be tw*ts. Seriously, it’s not hard to chase more than 1 survivor in a game.
So why us Ruin reworked then, when its just so easy for new players to learn the game?
-
I like to keep it simple. Looks elegant, and scary from far and close up. Also makes it harder to spot from the distance.
-
Personally I don't track the individual DS users, but looking at the obsessions in the matches, atleast 98% of them have atleast one DS (I don't use obsession perks myself as killer).
-
While, I personally would support that, looking at the Behaviour's rather limited programming skills, I don't think this will ever come true.
-
I don't think its a timelimit. I think it disconnects when 4 out of 5 players leave the match. Where the chat function would be pointless (unless you enjoy talking to yourself, of course).
-
Had a similar match the other day. Ended up snowballing and sluggig the whole team, because there was an obsession, so people could have had Decisive Strike. Not my fault that there is no telltale for the killer, and that hooking someone else doesn't deactivate it. Apparently they didn't like it when the killer applies counterplay to their crutches.

Yes playing low mobility killers on red forest or rotten fields, feels bad, ruin makes it easier
Rotten fields is absolutely crazy. Even Nurse doesn't stand a chance on that map, because cornblindness. Whenever I get that map as survivor, I just lean back and am like "Well GG WP, everyone".

You are playing an anti stealth killer, you can apply a ton of pressure with Doctor. I'm not saying you're bad, just showing the options. That said, the Doctor rework might make the anti stealth a bit harder since they are changing the way his passive works. On a large map, it might be hard to get around, but if you shock everyone enough you should know roughly where they are and what they might be doing.
Thats not how it works when you play low or mid-tier killers. You have no mobility, so it takes ages to get to generators. You have no chase power, so even if you scare them off, you don't get anything from it, because you can only chase one person at a time. And it can take ages to get them eventually, because maps are littered with ultra safe loops.

It requires both, the time you have to vault the pallet changes depending if they have Enduring or not.
An experienced killer will wait for you to vault first, or pick up the survivor while looking away.

For me that'd be the chase with the Killer, especially if they know how to run tiles and mindgame a lot.
As well as having to deal with random teammates when playing Solo.
And the saves you can pull of such as flashlight ones, CJ tech since they require precise timing.
Other than that it's so much more relaxing compared to Killer which is why i play Survivor way more often. The difference is actually pretty insane.
CJ tech doesn't require timing. It requires an inexperienced killer.

I'll take that chance.
But why? It just helps you stomp noobs even harder. While it doesn't do anything against smart survivors. Whats the point of a perk if it only help versus bad players?

Only if the whole team hides, so only SWF really.
If 1-2 hide it is even better for you, half the team doing nothing while you chase another survivor. You can get your first hook and zero work will be done on gens.
The point is that survivors can completely nullify one of your perks.

"3 Generators located farthest from you are blocked by The Entity for several seconds at the start of the Trial."
This means that they start the game only able to work close to you. That helps.
Only helps Trapper or Hag. Versus every other killer, survivors can just hide and wait out the 2 minutes, making the perk completely obsolete.
