Not getting hooked means survivors can more effectively use their second chance perk, Unbreakable.
All according to the plan.
-
Game is balanced for rank 15. So if you are below or above that, its bound to be unfun.
-
Best add-ons are windup time, and exhaustion. If I am not running Iridescent Heads (to trigger survivor mains), I generally run a combination of those 2, or stack wind-up time.
-
I have had rather bad ping too. I got into the usual green ping lobby, but it randomly spiked to yellow sometimes. Usually does not happen that often, but not sure if it was my Internet or servers are acting up again.

"What has generally happened is the players adapt to a change and the devs gather data to make more changes to the side that has been affected by them."
This is basically saying "We're gonna see how hard we can poke you to see how much it hurts" Trouble is that they're poking too hard and now there is soon to be consequences. I'll still play dbd but you cannot ignore the negative reaction that will take place because it's justified and in my opinion very damaging to BHVR.
The story that the developers removed Ruin to gather data on vanilla generator-time is big bullshit. Because according to their own statistics, 55% of the matches had no Ruin to begin with. Why not gather data from there?
The true story is that the developers removed Ruin, but are not planning on giving killers anything in return. Otherwise they would have done that in the same patch as well, because they already had the data.
-
What do you mean "No Ruin day"? Its No Ruin forever now!
Let the 4 minute games begin!

I have to reduce the game sound drastically as killer just for screams, chasemusic, pallet breaks, Nurse screaching, and many more sounds which are way way too loud in comparison to the rest. This seriously hurts my killer-gameplay, as I miss out the actual important sounds like breathing, footsteps, survivors working on generators/totems, healing, etc.
So in general I would be for a normalisation of most sounds in the game. Why is the killer forced to deaf themselves, just to get crucial information about survivors?

I liked the moonlight offerings too but I do have some sympathy with the devs here.
If SWF's were bringing Darkest Moonlight, Thickest Mist and some offering for an already Dark Map then killers would be complaining all day about it.
Personally, I have never had a problem with moonlight offerings back then. Mainly because we could still reliably hear people. Claudette won't help you stay hidden from the killer if you they have headphones. But now with the ridiculous sound occlusion, and sound being inconsisitent in general, moonlight offerings would be busted indeeed.
-
As far as I gathered moonlight offerings were disabled (not removed, because spaghetti code) because they didn't want to balance all maps with every possible offering combination in mind. Basically like old Tinkerer, where they gave up on an interesting game concept, in order to free up manpower to pump out rushed chapters faster.
-
Not knowing the workings of perks, add-ons, and powers very well is a good indicator of a survivor main. Trying to hide from Scratch Mirror Myers. Crouching outside of the BBQ range hoping for the killer to pass by when its a high mobility killer like Nurse, or Billy. Disrespecting Nurses Calling on Nurse, Huntress, or Stealth killers.
-
Welcome to Behaviour, where bugs and issues get ignored at the expense of paid cosmetics and rushed chapters.
-
I always hear that phantom Meg exhaling very loudly at random spots on the maps.
-
My killer main, Nurse, is littered with gamebreaking bugs right now. So yeah, after 4-5 matches I generally swap to survivor for the rest of the day.
-
Killer issue, so low priority.
-
Are, are you having a stroke?

and by the way, don't double hit a survivor with feral frenzy, you lose your gauge power and don't gain anything from it 👍
You get bloodpoints for it.
If you are playing to win, then Legion is the wrong killer for that.
-
Nurse is not fun. She has too many gamebreaking bugs to be fun. Blinks being litterally taken away from you, or underblinking because of dedicated servers. Maps always being inconsistent, because of deadzones (looking at you Sanctum of Wrath). Add in the sound nerfs, where 95% of your blinks are guessing game even when they are injured and you run Stridor.
If survivors had bugs where they litterally couldnt repair, this would be fixed overnight, but since barely anyone plays Sally, she is getting the short stick from the devs.
-
Nurse.
I like to win without sweating and without Ruin.
-
I am just glad that I learned Nurse before it was cool. After the Ruin nerf goes through, I could not be asked playing anyone but Nurse, Spirit, Huntress, or Hag at red ranks.

How can anyone defend Instant chainsaw add-ons?
Just loop him. Make him a M1 killer.
-
Imagine complaining about a M1 killer. A killer who can do ######### againt the multitude of unmindgame loops littered across the maps. If you get caught outpositioned against a Billy, its your own fault, because you hear his chainsaw. Everything, including instantsaws is fine in my opinion. Billy should not be touched at all.
-
Developers nerfed survivor sound, and buffed sound oclussion. Which effectively makes tracking during phasing a guessing game.

Sorry to hear that your friend has problems finding matches!
That aside, that's not what I'm hearing from others, so it's interesting. Would your friend mind to tell us more details like his rank, his area, his queue time and which ranks he is getting matched against?
A friend of mine who is yellow rank killer usually has 2 situations:
- Gets quick lobbies, but all 4 survivors are red rank.
- Needs to wait 10minutes, and get 4 survivors in green yellow ranks. Generally no brown ranks ever.
-
Nurse.
All of them are long dresses, but you can never go wrong with wearing one.
-
I always scream "I CANT FRIGGING HEAR YOU!", when survivors run around me with absolutely no sound at all.
-
I can get around new Nurse, even if I disagree with her basekit changes (only her add-ons were busted and OP). However the multitude of bugs she has right now, along with the sound nerfs make her extremely unfun for me sometimes.
-
I want bugfixes instead of more cosmetics.
-
Pipping is way too easy is survivor. The pip requirement is one point lower than for killer in green, purple, and red ranks. The survivor's emblem also have "starter" values like the benevolence emblem, meaning you are pretty much garunteeed to get atleast bronze there. Pair that with the new rank "reset" and you will have way too many red rank survivors versus too few red rank killers.

@Mandy said:
A lot depends on the perks & add ons. For example Nemesis reveals the survivors aura for 60 maximum ( you become the obsession if you blind or stun the killer), with Rancor if you are the obsession you see the killers aura for a maximum of 5 seconds and when all generators are completed the obsession has the exposed status effect and can be mori'd when downed.
There are other in game effects that benefit the killer that can be achieved with add ons - for example Judiths Journal - Myers will gain more Evil when stalking the obsession and with Freddy Black Box will start the survivor in the Dread World and you can't wake up from it.
The aura reveal is 4 seconds. The oblivious effect is what is 60 seconds.
-
Nurse all day, no matter the rank. Maybe mix in some Huntress for some fun pog-shots.
-
The recharge add-ons are by far the best add-ons for anyone who isn't extremely good with her. They allow you come back from mistakes much more, and increase your map pressure by reducing the time walking. Once you got solid with her, swapping one recharge ad-on for range is generally the best combination.

PC, Germany, red ranks: surv & killer (I am trying both sides when I cannot find a lobby),
today's total time (2 hours) - surv
Yes, that sounds like a bug. I am in EU, rank 1-5 for both sides. Killer is near instant lobby, survivor takes 1-3 minutes. If you wait 2 hours, that 100% a bug, unless you are rank 20 killer that plays at night.
-
A friend of mine is a rank 17 killer on PC. They were trying to get better at Nurse, but barely got in any games, because queuing times are 10-15 minutes. Half of the matches got cancelled, because reasons. They are a survivor-main now.

While DbD is not esports, it's still a PvP game. Like with any other PvP game, the normal thing is that both sides want to win.
And I see it similar: When a killer plays "hard", uses strong perks or a mori, it is frowned upon. If survivors do the same, that's just them playing the game.
It looks like a lot of people want to see the killer in the role of the fun provider for the survivors, nothing more. In this case, it would be better to program an AI and turn DbD into a PvE game.
An AI would indeed be better. But judging by how the developers can't even keep totems out of line of sight during the intro-sequence, I don't think their programming skills are that great to begin with.

The guy in the picture is not Tom Clancy, but Tom Hanks, by the way.

So... What I'm hearing is... German Bubba can disappear? That's epic
Jawohl.
-
Probabaly because killers tend to get a lot more bloodpoints per match. So you can kind of effort it more.
I personally never run out of add-ons on my killers, but I can very much run out of items and add-ons as survivor if I started to bring them into every match.

I agree that sometimes the wording on perks could be clearer. I usually just chalk it up to the fact that many of the devs are bilingual, and English isn't necessarily their first language even though they may be fluent in it, so occasionally a grammatical error or a strangely worded sentence slips under the radar.
As for the patch notes, it's not customary for patch notes in games to provide a justification for every change. Patch notes are there to tell you what changes were made, not why. Littering them with explanations would just clutter them up and make it harder to distinguish the actual information.
The English translation is fine, however most other translations are not. They are litterally just copy pasted from Google Translator. The wording is so broken that many people, indluding me, litterally switch to the English version of the game, because perks and add-ons and powers don't actually explain whats going on. In the German version for example it litterally says on the description of the perk Insidious that you become invisible. The developers even realised that bug, but never made any effort to fix, even though that wouldnt even take 30 second to correct.
-
The game just gets bloated with clutter code at this point. On the Steam version, we are at 30GB memory right now. Which is way too much for a game with that little content and bad graphics. There is definetely alot of redundant code running in the background. The developers really should do some cleanup. The console version really could use it.
-
I only take breaks from playing killer. I switch to survivor when I start to get burned out.

Why are you chasing one survivor that long?
Is 60 seconds long? Because thats how long you can hold out in a chase as survivor by litterally just running forward. Assuming you took 20 seconds to find the survivor, thats 3 gens (60% of them) done by the time you hook said survivor.
-
Mine was deleted too. I was asking if the developers ever intent on fixing the sound bugs. Which was kind of relevant to the update as well since they apparently fixed the no sound of downed survivors.

I'm really being serious here, I've been owned in maps like Ormond and not a single gen was done on Rottenfields
I just think that it was caused by me messing up, not cause of the map.
Don't get me wrong, two specific maps give me trouble, but I'm not saying I hate them, they give me more of a challenge, if I 3k+ that's a win for me as killer.
I might be having a different perception of things introjecting the real map issues as an "I made a mistake" not seeing it is actually the map.
My initial point was against the concept of gen rushing, not against map re-making
Obviously you can win on such survivor-sided maps too, but thats not down to your own skill, but to luck and the skill survivors. A map like Rotten Fields will punish you much more for patrolling the wrong generators than a map like Coal Tower will do. A map like Blood Lodge will punish a mistake at a loop more than a map like Hawkins will do. A map like Yamaokas will punish you for not finding a survivor much more than Shelter Woods will do.
Maps have strenghts and weaknesses. Some of them are so strong that its outright unfair.

Cause maps have not affected my ingame experience, the only way I have map issues is with clown and Plague, and I believe it's cause I have them below level 10, no prestige, again, it's just my UNPOPULAR opinion, my experience, my perception, but I don't think I'm the only one who thinks this.
I am not sure if you trolling, or not. Arguing that maps don't affect your gameplay is absurd. Its universally accepted by anyone who plays killer that maps make a huge diffference. A relatively unsafe and small map like Coal Tower will give you much more better results, than a map like Blood Lodge, which is gigantic and littered with loops that offer zero counterplay whatsoever for the killer. On the latter you are litterally at the mercy of the survivors making insane mistakes to even stand a chance unless you are Spirit or Nurse.

Remove the 8K cap, but keep the 32k cap. Simple as that.

Lol removing swf is how you make a good amount of your playerbase quit. I can't believe there are seriously still people crying about swf. Oh wait yes I can because some of the killers on this game have serious mental issues that revolve around being way to fragile when it comes to being outplayed.
Yes, because voice communication that bypasses core aspects of the game is "outplaying".
-
Sound quality detoriated heavily since its release. I always used the same computer for playing Dbd, and even got headphones specifically for hearing people better. I used to be able to hear footsteps loud and clear through the chase music, and can still do so if I watch a YT video made back in 2018. But now I don't hear ######### anymore. Add in sound occlusion that litterally can block 100% of the sound from certain angles, even when its just one object obtructing, and you get a system that doesn't reliably give you auditory feedback anymore. Its clear as the sky at this point.
-
Slugging has a foolproof counter, Unbreakable. Which in turn has no counterplay from the killer, apart from just picking everyone up right away. Survivors have therefor no reasons to complain about it. If you don't like slugging, but then refuse to use a non-DLC teachable perk to counter it, then thats your fault, not the killer's.
