  • I like the top. I always wanted Kate with a off-the shoulder croptop.

However that hat hanging down really ruins it for me. It prevents me from seeing Kate's nice scapulae.

I hate it when the developers ruin potential good cosmetics with such accessoires. They did it with the Summer Music Fest headpiece (the orange shades) as well.

  • Good lord this thread is cringy as hell. Now that baby survivors got rid of Ruin, and killers are adapting correctly, the baby survivors now also want to get rid of slugging. How about equipping Unbreakable, or finally get good?

    Good lord ...

  • DS, BT, Unbreakable. The killer cant camp you, cant tunnel you, cant slug you. Now that Ruin is gone and even rank 15s can do generators, there is really no reason to complain.

But dont come complain when you only see Spirit, Nurses, Iridescent Huntresses, NOED, and Moris then.

  • Game files modified apparently. Verify game cache on Steam and/or do a fresh reinstall.

If that doesn't fix it, submitting a support ticket is your best bet.

You don't need to mind game with her. Blink to them and hit them it's really not that hard. Maybe it's because I didn't play her before the Nerf but I honestly have no issues getting a 4k against red ranks. Her mobility around the map for checking gens is still decent. Blink to a gen if someone is there use your second blink to attack them if there is. Then depending on what they do either leave them or use another blink to smack them down. It's really not that hard when you don't over think it and learn to juggle the survivors. Idk if I adapted to her quicker and easier sense I didnt play old nurse, but if survivors are running in a straight like from you to get away you're doing something wrong no offense.

As a Nurse-main myself, you sound very ... unconvincing. Saying you don't even know your blink distances, but yet get many kills with her versus red ranks.

I myself know blink distances very well, but I still miss alot of blinks, because tricky survivors do unexpected turns last moments.

  • Bring hook offerings, or DS if you wanna jump off the killer's grasp.

  • I wish they would do more cosmetics revolving around her countrygirl backstory, instead.

  • I want her cooldown gone :(

    Its so annoying.

  • German translation.

No way they used someone who was fluent in the language. I would go as far as guess its actually Google Translater.

Is that seriously a bug or just the extremely frustrating 99% charge scenario?

If it's a bug that's just sad. If it's the 99% thing well then it just reinforces how dumb and poorly thought out the changes were.

Its an actual bug. Sometimes the game takes your blink ability completely away. Making you a 96% speed M1 killer. In said bug you charge your blink, the Nurse does this weird spazzing out where it looks like she is charging 10 times a second (a bug implemented back in 2016), but now you can't finish charging, and you are just kinda stuck there. You can "cancel" the blinking by stopping holding down M2, but charging again won't solve the bug. Sometimes its only persistent for 1 or 2 blink circles, sometimes its up for the rest of the match.

A truly gamebreaking bug, completely ignored and forgottten by the developers.

You know what else was annoying? Being physically unable to escape a good nurse. Good nurses would literally triangulate a survivor's position and would be inescapable. At least there's a 4ish second cooldown associated with that now.

You know what also annoying? Being physically unable to catch survivors, because the loops are simply uncounterable by killers. Good survivors will just abuse those to their full extend.

nurse is definitely the strongest killer when she’s played right and people are used to her blinks. her bugs are an issue but they won’t stop her from 4king and ending chases in like 5-10 seconds. her kill rate doesn’t determine whether she’s a good killer, there are unskilled nurses that will have so much trouble playing now especially with her nerf. i play her at rank 1 killer and never depipped or gotten anything other than a 3k or 4k (sometimes find hatch) in a long time. it really depends on your knowledge of her power. she had one of the highest kill rate prior to her nerf and proving my point, you need to actually be aware of her blinks.

Nurse can't end chases in 10 seconds. She needs atleast 20-30 seconds to catch up to survivors after the first hit.

  • Yeah, the cooldown, dedicated servers, and the multitude of bugs ignored by the developers really make her unfun.

Only her add-ons were the problem. Her basekit was strong and offered counterplay. Now her counterplay is litterally just holding the W key.

Tunneling wasn't really a problem if you can just jump off the first time the killer finds you. That's what I assume, I didn't play much back in the broken days.

Only one survivor could jump off on their own. The rest needed help from bodyblocks or saboteurs, which is rare on solo queue.

  • Whispers has about as many counters as Decisive Strike does.

    Zero.

  • The Plaid Fannel indicator has a delay now (thanks dedicated servers, you are such a blessing), which means it is not reliable anymore.

Lol this is the truth isn’t it. That only when they dominate with a stress free game do they consider the game to be balanced.

I watched tru3talent’s stream earlier. Now I don’t have anything against the guy but he constantly complains the game is unfair and some things I agree with him on.

So anyway he gets the 4k with 5 gens still standing then he goes on to say “I told you at the start we could do ok because its a smaller, more balanced map”

Now im not going to pretend some maps dont feel too large but again its only when its 4 man 5 gens stress free that people feel the game is fair.

Tru3talent also has 5K hours into the game. He should be winning the vast majority of the games.

If anything, bugged DS showed how important the Perk is. Hard to imagine how miserable DBD would be if you can get tunneled after every Hook without any real defense.

This might (or will most likely) also explain Doctors high performance - if you can turn the game in a 3v1 very easy, because you dont have to worry getting DSed, you sure will win a lot more games than usual.

Survivors did perfectly fine before the Decisive Strike rework. Why is now suddenly a nessecarity?

  • @WolfPad06 said:

Like people are saying, she still has the potential to be the best killer in the game, and those who mastered her before can do just as well with her now probably.

I, personally, just think she's not very fun to play as anymore. Her add-ons have pretty massive downsides, or are just memes/useless for doing well, and the double cooldown mechanic just makes her feel sluggish and unrewarding (even if, with add-ons, the effect isn't too big).

Most of all, the last time I tried nurse on Dedicated Servers I had such an awful time with the rubber banding and the wonky blinks I haven't touched her again after that.

I have noticed the wonky blinks on dedicated servers as well. If you connection has just a tiny hickup, the game severely undercharges your blink. It appears that the developers in their infinite wisdom made blinktiming serverside, meaning you have to account for your ping at the time you charge AND release your blink. Utteraly broken design right now.

According to currently statistics at all ranks she is either the worst killer or the 3rd worst killer with a barely higher KR then clown.

Check the most recent(November sense they haven't released anymore sense then) and even at the gold standard red ranks she is still bottom 3.

Also @LegionGhostface she has countless game breaking bugs right now like:

Throwing a pallet where she will be before the blink finishes stuns her out of her blink.

She can randomly have her 2nd blink be disabled after the first blink for no reason.

She can just have her 2nd blink not work for the entire game for no reason.

She is an underpowered broken(In terms of game breaking bugs) killer with very few upsides atm.

The blink disable bug can also work for the 1st blink. Meaning the game can turn you to a no-blink Nurse for the rest of trial. Which can be theoretically forever, since you physically can't catch survivors.

  • Generally an unfun killer to play as, until you start to get really good with her, which can take a considerable amount of time. Then there is her bugs which are completely out of your control.

  • Fast.

Either the killer manages to snowball early in the game, or the survivors finish all generators in 5 minutes or even less. Sometimes there is a NOED involved to cheese out 1 or 2 additional kills depending on how greedy the survivors are.

It's been an issue for a very long time. They also don't just say "makes the hits look nicer after the server has confirmed it's gonna hit". Because the hit isn't confirmed till your weapon object interacts with the survivor hit box object. It basically is a cone shaped radius in front of the Killer, and that if the attack were to go through (be in that cone), they aim-assist will kick in and try to force it's best to connect the blow, so it looks smoother. However that causes problems, like "What if another object suddenly is in between the killer and that survivor". Like the survivor took a quick turn around a small rock. Well. Just what you would think the aim assist kicks in, forces your attack forward, and you can't avoid that object.

What I think is happening, which is why it happens more often with survivors on hooks. Since the survivor on hook, while on hook is still a survivor in the coding, it recognizes that survivor as the one you're actually aiming for before the savior, and then forces the attack to go through on the hooked target.

I could be wrong, because I don't program the game, and that is a simplified description, but it definitely happens a lot more often against hooked survivors than it does other objects in the map, so i'm theory crafting.

I just wish they would fix it, or change it back, because honestly if you require to use the survivor as a body shield because you didn't take Borrowed Time, then you should be getting punished for performing unsafe saves.

    I think its just hitboxes.

  • I would rather stare at a cooldown bar than play Nurse ...

    Wait ...

  • Playing versus Nurse is so easy now. Just run forward, and she will take ages to catch up. I have Dead hard to dodge a down ontop of that. Even if she baits it out, she needs 6 seconds to blink again. Plenty of time to set up more jukes.

They should have never slapped a cooldown on her. Its such a bad habit of the developers now. Only her add-ons were problematic. Old basekit Nurse was a ridiculiously skillbased killer, still leaving counterplay for the survivors. Only thing you couldnt do with her was running her for 5 generators.

  • Putting a * before your name automatically makes your name appear in a random sequence of 3 numbers in Dbd.

    So like:

    *Supernaut = 123

Obviously that doesn't stop the streamer from screen-capturing and showing your Steam ID, but atleast its something.

  • Dedicated servers just feel miserable both on killer and survivors. Killers have a delay on their power and everything else, survivors get hit 2 metres away from a window after fast vaulting. I am starting to get real sick of this. I just wish the developers would go back to peer-to-peer.

Here, I went ahead and grabbed this for ya':

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/403/L538Z35NNL1C.png

There's a section in the patch notes specifically for killer related bug fixes.

What about Nurse's blink sometimes being cancelled or cut short? Her inconsistent post-blink lunge? What about Clown's bottles sometimes hitting and emitting no clouds? Myers and Ghostface sometimes being able to stalk through walls, and in other instances not being able to stalk in plain sight?

There are loads of gamebreaking bugs for killers, which were not even mentioned by the devs, even thought they have been in the game for months now (most got introduced with dedicated servers). I would be really nice if fixed some of those. Expecially Nurse feels miserable with those bugs.

  • Sounds being messed up for killers on a gamebreaking level: After months barely even mentioned by the developers.

DS bugged versus one killer sometimes : Gets fixed within a week.

    God, do I love Behaviour.

  • Clown is a killer with no ability. His bottles do nothing if survivors play smart.

Bubba alteast has something where he can facecamp you.

  • Well, let me see.

The upsides? Survive with Friends gives you map-wide voicecommunication. Allowing you to relay information about the killer, the map, other survivors (including yourself) to everyone instantly. Allowing you to coordinate your builds, strategies, and efforts. Basically giving you atleast one dozen perks for free, and bypassing core aspect of the game.

What are the downsides? There is no downsides.

Survive with Friends is the single most powerful buff in the entire videogame. Pretty much on-par with old Nurse stacking range addons (Omegablink). The latter is which got removed.

This exactly. DBD hates it if I have something else running when I open it and normally refuses to go full screen afterwards. This cost me the game as I lost a Claudette early into the match on swamp because I ended up clicking out of it when I was going for a hit. This happened several times ingame and it lead to everyone escaping but losing that Claud put me at a major disadvantage as about 2 gens were done when I finally downed and hooked someone.

Oh yeah. I can't count how many games I lost as killer because of a single mistake. A single bad mindgame in a chase, a single missed swing.

Meanwhile as survivor, I stack up mistake after mistake after mistake and still escape and double-pip.

    Its crazy, right?

  • Most killers are add-on dependant (which get used by the end of the trial), while survivors are not (who can keep items, and even gain new items).

Paired with the fact that the killer is the player who stays the longest in the trial, and has the least mental downtime (you always need to concentrate as killer), its fair that the killer gets more bloodpoints.

  • 4 survivors, 5 generators, 80 seconds per generator, survivors can work on seperate generators, or work together with barely any efficienty penalty. Killer needs to do 12 chases, a chase can be extended to 30 seconds minimum by just running forward after the onhit sprintburst.

The math alone is unfavourable for the killer.

  • Personally, I found 2 ways to enjoy killer now.

    1. I go full tryhard. Bring the most broken #########, and wreck those little survivor's asses. Enjoy it for as long as it last. Sooner or later its getting nerfed anyway, so why not abuse it?
    2. I go full meme-y. Bring perks like lightborn, and purposely face towards flashlighters when picking someone up, and laugh at their failing. No one nowadays knows the correct timing for Lightborn, because its a dead perk. I dont care about the outcome in those matches.
  • You don't need grass or bushes on Lery's. The map is ridiculously dark, has alot of background noises that mask already quiet survivor noises. Right now its the best stealth map out there.

  • Honestly, just record the whole matches + endgame screen. That way you can track everything at any time.

If you don't want ingame names revealed, you can always put a bar over them.

  • @ZoneDymo said:

wait so you are actually trying to legally cheat?

Survive with Friends legally cheat with voicechat. I think killers enhancing their colour or sound is just a minor offence here.

  • @feechima said:

I agree that DS is a second chance perk but BT is not. If you hit someone with BT you were in close proximity either camping or proxying hook. For the hooked survivor BT is the only chance perk.

I don't think you know how much survivors can abuse BT. Its 100% a second chance perk.

  • It seems that the general concensus in the thread is that toolboxes cause the most lobby dodges or moris.

Which is completely understandable really. Because with the Ruin nerf, bringing toolboxes is a real dickish move now. You deserve all dodges and moris, if you do that.

  • @Peanits said:

We mentioned this back when we updated the Nurse, but there's a good reason why we didn't go with any of those.

    1. Charge time: Increasing charge time would mess with the muscle memory that Nurse players have built up over the years. It also doesn't really change much.
    2. Increasing fatigue: This is something people have made clear that they don't like. The Legion's fatigue was increased to 4 seconds when they were updated. Even though you catch up faster than before given their increased movement speed, the feeling of being in fatigue for 4 seconds was not ideal.
    3. Reducing range: Similar to the first, it would mess with the muscle memory of the Nurse. It also wouldn't change a whole lot. Either the range is low enough that you have a hard time keeping up with the survivors, or it's not and nothing has changed. Either way, not ideal.
    4. Reduced movement speed while blinking: This would give the survivors a ton of time to react and avoid your blinks. Right now you might only have a split second to react, and increasing that window could make it almost impossible to actually get a hit.

I promise that it wasn't something that was taken lightly, we considered a whole bunch of options before settling on this. This way you maintain control and keep the same feel for your blinks, but you can't use them back to back if you missed. If you blink and miss, it gives the survivor a chance to break the line of sight. If you blink and hit, nothing has changed. Mistakes are a little more punishing, and the reward for blinking accurately is the same.

I disagree with the statement that reward for blinking accurentely is the same.

If you need 2 blinks to land a hit on a survivor (which you will versus tricky survivors), and they get the sprintboost, and you get the cooldown, you will need to chase them over the entire map to even catch up to them again. How is that a reward? It means that brainless running forward wastes atleast 20-30 seconds of the Nurse's time. Add in pick up + hook, and thats atleast 40 seconds. Another 20 seconds to get back to the place where you scared them off. 60 seconds in total, that an entire generator if survivors can hit great skillchecks (which they can because they were trained by Ruin).

Basically the rework destroyed the Nurse's potential to pressure multiple survivors at once, which was her main strength pre-rework.

  • My Nurse post-blink lunge got *even shorter* since the last update. My guess is they meddled with the netcode, and it went horribly wrong.

  • For Ghostface, Nurses's Calling is good. Allows you to sneak up on people in your stealth.

For Spirit, I recommend Stridor to mitgrate the sound nerfs a little bit.

For Demogorgon, I recommend Save the best for last, because he can keep his stacks by shred attacking the obsession. Also BBQ is good on hin, since he can use his portals for mobility.

  • As survivor? Hell friggign yeah!

As killer? Only if you like a challenge.

  • @AsePlayer said:

He can't because it didn't happen.

They just simply said they like this ruin since you can't combine it with pop because 4 slow down perks aren't fun for anyone and that future slow down perks would be designed with this in mind.

You know whats also not fun? Survivors stacking 16 2nd chance perks. Some of which can be used multiple times per trial (looking at you Dead Hard, and Borrowed Time). But we don't see the devs care a wet fart about them, because its only the killer having to deal with that bullshit.

  • Or make fast vaulting skill-based like it is right now.

  • The killer already gets punished for camping hooks. They are giving up their entire mappressure, and allow the others survivors to finish the 5 gens uncontested, basically throwing the game in the process.

  • The argument that Ruin interefered with the stats is nonsense. Their own statistics suggested that 55% of the total matches had no Ruin, and still 20% of the red ranks had no Ruin. Thats more than enough stats.

1 … 16 17 18 19 20 … 45
