I loved the candelabras they were so cozy and atmospheric. I think encouraging survivors to be a moth to the flame is a good thing for killers. If you glow, you go!

I've seen this discourse on social media and the obsession with Judgement having breasts is insane to me. Namely because so many people are acting like "oh BHVR is just pandering to gooners" as if breasts are inherently sexual and by that logic anything female or female coded is inherently sexual which is a really ######### gross train of thought.
Personally I feel like there's nothing sexual about Judgement's design, It's a sort of angel with crab legs with trapped souls in them and a body covered in eyes, by all accounts that is absolute body horror but it doesn't count because the character has breasts and therefore "gooner bait"?
I think its because people were hoping for something androgynous
-
I think this would help a lot
-
bruh, 4 was the most OP survivor sided one.
I will say though, it does trip me up still always having the entire map behind the school. I'll never get over Badham 4

I do think some killer ad ons should be excluded that are a net negative (padded jaws being a clear cut example)
Survivors do have one ad on that does make the item worse then no ad ons. All tho i dont think it needs removing just wanted to add as response to your second paragraph.
Toolbox
Instructions (slower gens because you cant get greats and has no perk synergy meanwhile takes away a bunch of perk synergy by removing skill checks)I never use instructions, but getting it would be a perfect time to drink while repairing!

Yeah for sure. It's hard to be stealthy when you're wheezing and growling like an asthmatic pug 🤣 let alone when you start ringing a literal bell
I swear the only time Wraith appears is the one time I equip Fogwise or something

the perk is egregiously strong in specific game circumstances in a way that warrants being looked at, none of which are relevant to the element of the perk actually getting nerfed lol
Wicked does the same thing and nobody talks about that.

I never liked chaos shuffle but embracing random is how it should be and inspires me with confidence; if I as a killer don't have a chance to become the next Burger King Myers then it ain't chaos

It’s not that Vigil and SB are super strong, it’s more like survivors have nothing else to use. You know things are bad when 5 moves ahead is considered meta.
I could name off a dozen good perks that people just turn their nose at. There are absolutely great perks.
Nic Cage. Empathic. Wicked. Strength in Shadows. Bond. Decisive. Finesse. Boons. Fixated. Iron Will. Resilience. Troubleshooter. No Mithers made a Resurgence. Second Wind. Babysitter. Deja Vu. Inner Strength. Lucky Star's cute if you are Leon irl. Flashbangs. Background Player. Wide Open Throttle. ESP. We See You. Object of Obsession.
I haven't even touched on perk synergies like Plot Twist+DS or Flip Flop+ Power Struggle.

Hopefully they finally make Nowhere to Hide aura reveal to stick on the gen. It never even make sense why it gets centered around the killer anyway. It should be killers Wiretap not I will stroll half a map and see every survivor that was not even near the gen in question or touched it.
Sadly it's just a range nerf. Kinda frustrating tbh, because I despise NTH only because the aura follows the killer. If it just stayed near the generator I wouldn't have any issue with the perk.
-
I was one of the few who used BT/Babysitter I had some real clutch moments but I've felt useless in that regard since basekit endurance is 15 I'm fine with endgame protection being nerfed
-
I never play dbd sober and I use things I like. I genuinely have easier times loading in as no power Krasue abusing Superior Anatomy than I do playing meta. I confuse people by not playing properly, and I am harder to tilt because I can blame my suboptimal loadouts
-
id rather face ghoul than wraith. I hope they add ghoul to 2v8 because I'm sick of this boring guy.
-
vigil and SB nerfs were a long time coming
-
hatch exists as an immersive way to end games that's not just "pulling the plug". Just because people get the wrong idea about it doesn't mean it's flawed.
-
@random1543 said:
Basekit pebble pls 😍
that would unironically be a nerf because imo part of the reason Pebble works is because nobody uses pebble so killers think "why game bug?"

It's a mode that came about because players said the game wasn't scary anymore and where's the horror. In reality players want to win, not be scared, so it's hated.
Players that play the mode with the mentality of normal matches miss the point. It's supposed to be like facing a movie serial killer.
that doesn't necessarily track imo; a lot of players are boosted by crutches and Lights Out takes all that away. I can handle fighting naked, whereas many people can't. lots of killers need their aura perks and Slowdowns. Nurses have to use their eyeballs so they just don't play Nurse.

@Wyndsor said:
They need to neef the top perks or nothing will change.
They've already been buffing bad perks but it doesnt make a difference as long as meta remains meta.
metaslaves gonna meta but I don't care about them. I care about what I like. BHVR buffed a bunch of cool perks in the AoT update and I want them to do it again.
Nerfing the top won't make my garbage any better. The idea of NOLB is one of my favourites for survivor and all BHVR did was change it's activation requirement from "open exit gates" to "power the exit gates" and that suddenly changed the entire perk dynamic. Still terrible arguably, but it fulfills it's niche and fantasy perfectly. Trying to get value out of that keeps me invested and engaged.
-
when I buy a killer, I'm paying for the power but also the perks and addons so when we get useless addons I feel like I am missing content. It wouldn't be so bad if there were no addon limits and we just had a random amount of them based on vibes but it's all standardized. So Houndmaster is a bucket of chicken with the skin eaten off to me.

That's why the lanterns now give survivors pallet and window auras, so they have a point of reference like killers do (gen auras) and it won't be so disorientating. I'm looking forward to playing Pig and getting some sneaky gen grabs, but I imagine there will be plenty of Legion, Doctor, and Bubba like last time. I do think there will be an increase in players on the first day, then a sharp decline like last time. This mode has never been popular and I'm kind of surprised they're bringing it back.
my headcanon is that solo q tolerates it because if you want to play for hatch, a lot of killers can't stop you. If you pretend you die IRL if you die in dbd, lights out could be considered fun.

Because that's something that only the license holder can decide. There is a reason we've had so few licensed rifts, those being stranger things and the old saw rift, the reason being that license holders generally are quite clingy to their license, especially when it's new.
We peaked with the Castlevania rift I'm still waiting for a rift to match that quality

They brought back Lights Out. My favorite game mode more so than 2v8 even. Playing as Xenomorph that mode you're almost a stealth killer and survivors get the flame turrets as some kind of warning.
Did they at least disabled Myers and Ghost Face cause those 2 ignored the rules of Lights Out?
I played only Xeno with the blighted skin as a public service even if somehow some people didn't appreciate it.
The turrets are so immersive!
-
I'm still upset at Spirit getting chase music T_T it was so beautiful but kids these days don't realize how bad the chase music sandbags you.

I still haven't forgotten the Jill debacle. I still remember Billy's frozen pants.
I get dbds on life support right now but come on

See I quite enjoyed the event personally. But a lot of ppl struggled to adapt. You definitely saw less farming games than normal during those bp heavy events, shows ppl were getting tilted
I tried to adapt...like if I picked bubba I could consistently 4k but I didn't enjoy winning like that. to be perfectly honest, I prefer events being naturally a bit killer sided so I can let out my wild side with Count Barkula or no power Krasue. The fun seemed to be zero sum and was entirely dependent on Table RNG.
It's impossible but I try to have us all have a good time as we can even if the match sucks but the event seemed to bring about a lot of...suck.
-
@HoodedWildKard said:
Black banquet caused a lot of burnout on both sides. But killers got it especially bad. They had a survivor sided event, lots of losses, and a lot of killers resorted to hard tunneling as a way to win. Not a fun tactic and usually provokes a lot of post game salt from ppl in dms and postgame chat.
I think ppl need a week or two to settle down and get the frustration out of their systems.
shame about my p100 Cenobite but I'm glad I took a break from that terrible event because I'm feeling refreshed and ready for some dbd. cakes were not worth it
-
it's possible to do just fine on weaker strategies i get easier 4ks with no power Krasue than I do Ghoul. you just gotta not be afraid of embarrassing yourself. problem is, lotta people lack perspective and will try to make your experience more miserable than the game will sometimes.
it's hard to feel like it's worth it when it can feel like a game is decided in 2 minutes and it feels gogogo
-
@HoodedWildKard said:
It is an immensely good perk. I use it a lot in my builds and it just lets you put instant pressure on AND provides synergy for every other aura read perk and addon in the killer toolkit.
Plus it's a lot of fun running muffler hill billy and turning into a hunterkiller missile at the start of the match. Either a free down or watching the survs panic and scatter as you fly towards them at mach billy with the chainsaw going.
I still need to organise a 4 man distortion swf and see how many killers we can confuse 🤣
in the prime Distortion days I saw the 4 man Distortion Lethal play once in my entire career. I chuckled and thought it was funny, and then started playing with my eyes. I didn't think it was even worth nerfing tbh
-
I'd rather try a limited mode where survivors get 1 extra perk and the killer gets 1 or 2.
let all of us cook
-
whether or not my aura is being read changes how I play so I just use OoO all the time
-
it's a catch 22 you can't win here. if you tunnel the BOT then you are abusing bad bot AI for easy wins if you ignore the bot you're just griefing actual people.
This unfortunate situation was why I was a staunch opponent of 2v8 making 2 survivors always BOTs every game I was a bad guy to somebody.

I never get people like you. You say the event is terrible and in the same sentence that you were playing it. Like you do not know the regular game is still available?
events alter the regular queue usually filtering out the casuals so only "dbd players" are playing normal mode.
-
**** AI it's killing the planet
-
we got Chucky and Ken Kaneki I refuse to listen to anybody who says Jurassic Park can't be done
-
Legions a fine killer; I argue people simply didnt play them when they were Kassadin tier.
Only buff I'd give them is let them see blood pools.
-
I'm always happy to face a challenge and get better. maybe I'll learn something. I can take a punch. Just don't torture me and prolong my misery, because if you leave me for the ego slug you'll never find me again.
if you can improve or learn in a match, then you can never lose
-
I got my wish for Eren Jeager(I'm 0-2 for taking L's here) all thats left really are the actual L4D cast, Mystery Inc. survivor crew and Shinichi Izumi from Parasyte:The Maxim/Kiseijuu
I don't want much anime in my dbd, but Tokyo Ghoul was a tasteful adaptation and the only other guy I'd like to see next to Kaneki is Shinichi. I'm bummed we didn't get a Sasaki Haise skin for survivor however Shinichi could fill that gap as the monster survivor he'd be Ash 2.0
Id settle for a Kiseijuu survivor paragraph but an actual killer would be incredibly based and would make BHVR a ton of money if you make a chase killer wear non licenced survivor cosmetics.

THis tends to happen when you get alot of basekit benifits added. Borrowed time was very META back in the day too, but since you dont have the risk of being downed right after touching the ground anymore, its usage dropped.
I kinda miss the basekit BT only being like 5 seconds i had a bit of fun with it after its golden age because killers stopped playing around it entirely...seeing Slingers count to 5 was hilarious. Now I genuinely don't see the point:(

For me, it's mainly how slow and deliberate you have to play to effectively counter him. OE does too much when you factor in his add ons.
As others have said, Hex: Jason is a problem too. Although I think Thrill of the Hunt is the main problem. That perk isn't really compatible with modern DbD. Its effect made sense when there were far fewer Hex perks in the game.
Totem builds offer way too much game delay right now when Thrill is on play. Every totem is game delay regardless of its actual effect. And Pentimento means you may end up cleansing twice. That's an absurd amount of game delay when you factor in Thrill with a full Hex build.
tbf, Thrill is a modern perk. It's as old as pain resonance.
ok, that was years ago but I refuse to acknowledge Artist being ancient history

it's impossible to coordinate because you reassurance somebody and other people won't realize or care.
I wanted to make reassurance+ plot twist work but it's impossible in solo

I originally planned to target the Ascended Banner, but then realized three things: I don't see myself ever using it; DbD will probably issue a global code in a year, handing it out to everyone anyway; and, more importantly, the tasks are boring and way too grindy. That's an issue with "events": it's never clear what is exclusive and never returns, so the motivation and incentive to grind it out aren't there. I remember the anniversary crowns. Back then, it wasn't easy to escape with every Survivor to get their crowns with the way perks worked. And it was a long grind doing every single Survivor and Killer! Then they issued a free code that granted every crown to anyone. What's the point of creating anniversary exclusive events and rewards when you will hand them out later?
I am of the camp that less FOMO is good I'm never upset to see new people get what used to be exclusive to me like I'm happy rift outfits come back my buddy missed Bill from Tome 7 and I always felt guilty so I never used it. I also gave him my Moth Jeff from Amazon because that was so dumb to lock. But grinding things like those crowns kinda bothered me because what was the point of trying? Those crowns and Gnome Chomsky were not easy especially since killers knew survivors were trying to get it.
-
Plague may still have the better addons but it sounds close
-
people with DS are so obviously desperate for perk value they're kind of easy to ignore imo. Yeah its cheeky but very rarely does it actually help them like they think it does.

Supoosedly you have a base MMR and then individual killer MMR. So if you have a pretty steady above average KR you'll likely have a fairly high base, which can make picking up killers you don't know hard. I try a new-to-me killer and the survivors all know the power back to front and I'm just clueless. It makes me hesitant to try any killer that's been out awhile but that I don't already have a grip on.
What were the survivors' builds?
it's unfortunate but I remember when bhvr tried to separate the mmr between killers and it made those matches kind of a wash for survivors since I felt like I was clearly above the lobby. I may be a Legion master but switching to Clown/Slinger I was facing yellow perk lobbies

Vecna 2/Henry has to be one of the worst designed killers in the game. There is hardly any skill needed, just spam M2 until you win. I can't imagine many survivors enjoy playing against him.
spamming is exactly how you lose

ok so I'm not crazy
