Have not been able to get on yet. Probably going to do killer only this weekend. Not hearing a lot of good things about the event so most likely going to play it by ear and mood.

Survivor is fine, just don't expect every killer to farm. Some of us actually want to play the game.

If you only want to farm, then play killer since you are the main deciding factor on if farming is happening or not.

  • Yep, this is a prime example why I don't like double BP events. There are those people out there that feel like if you're not farming then you're doing something wrong.

Not all of us need BPs, and are just playing the game to have fun actually playing.

It wouldn't be completely out of the question. It's not actually made to chase survivors, so to speak, it just moves between generators and follows a survivor that's already being chased. We already have something similar that you can see in the tutorial. It's just a matter of generating a mesh that the AI could follow.

It would cause a pretty noticeable performance hit, though, and it would likely increase loading times since it would have to generate a new mesh each time. Beyond that, it would probably be a little predictable for people with a keen eye who can spot AI behaviour, and it might be annoying for the killer when their illusions start to get in the way of a chase.

On a different note, having them each have a terror radius would definitely cause issues. If the killer is using a perk like Coulrophobia, it would be really excessive.

Ah, well good to know it's not completely out of the question! I agree the multiple terror radius' would be a bit much.

  • Well a Demogorgon is a demon prince from the D&D universe. The kids in Stranger Things name the creature that because they play D&D.

Here is the Stranger Things "demogorgon":

    3max.jpg

  • This would involve having to program a killer AI/Bot into the game which would be a pretty large project.

Not saying it couldn't be done.... but I don't think it will happen any time soon.

  • You could change your steam name as well and erase past names so they do not know it is you if they are specifically trying to get you in a match. Not sure what blocking someone on Steam does so this may be redundant, but a suggestion nonetheless.

  • I honestly really don't like double BP events. I just want to play the game, but it seems like every match I get the survivors try to get the killer to farm. If he won't farm, they just DC.

    What’s a special scoring event?

but yeah, no a fan of ruin because of how quickly it’s eliminated, the second someone touches a gen and notices, everyone sets out to destroy it. DH is a little more subtle.

I'm just referring to a "Score Event" for the killer. Each killer has different actions that give them different point rewards. Most of which go towards the Deviousness category. But some killers just by the nature of their ability also make the other categories easier to fill too.

This wiki page explains it better than I ever could probably and also lists all the Score Events and what category they fall into:

Not sure I want ruin but I definitely want Devour Hope so will have to tackle her eventually.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/525098#Comment_525098

As a killer main.... I support your choice of not wanting Ruin and would suggest not relying on it. There are a couple killers that NEED it like Trapper and Hag because they need setup time at the start of the game, but other killers can absolutely do without it if you learn to pressure enough.

As for why Doc/Legion for BP farming (and I saw someone say Wraith too): They are killers that are easy to complete their special scoring events. Doc can easily shock people repeatedly, Legion can easily hit people in Feral Frenzy, Wraith can easily uncloak and get a first hit. Some of the other killers are a bit tougher to get their special scoring events done which is where a lot of your extra BPs will come from.

  • The amount of stuff to unlock when you start playing fresh at this point is quite overwhelming. For BP farming I would recommend playing as Leatherface and using BBQ. Play him, and put BPs into him, until you can unlock BBQ as a teachable perk.

Then try to get BBQ lvl 3 on a good BP farming killer such as Doc or Legion.

  • Dream pallets.

I would assume the dream snares would be visible and therefore easily avoidable. Whereas a dream pallet may cause a survivor to stay at a loop they normally wouldn't because they think they are safe.

  • Looks decent.... watching the 3 survivors on the 1 gen at the start and every single one of them failing the skillchecks..... was painful.

  • By dodging and making them reform of course. trololololol

    jk

I don't really care if I face swf or not. Usually SWF grps play more altruistic anyways and it will be a longer more interesting game than just a team of gen rushers.

  • Playing killer with BBQ is definitely the best source of BPs if you can do well with the killer. So you have the right idea. Playing Leatherface and using BBQ while you unlock it as a teachable would definitely be your best choice if you are able to do well with him.

As for spreading or focusing the points.... it's really up to you. When I was first starting out I spread my points out to get the teachables from each character I wanted. Then started dumping the points into the killer I main to get all the perks. Alternatively you could focus the points, but if you don't have any perks you are trying to get you are essentially just spending BPs on them for addons at that point. You can also unlock perks from the Shrine of Secrets each week so if you wanted to try and get lucky on a perk showing up in there you want you can just wait for that to happen as well.

  • While SWF boosting is definitely a thing. I think it is more just a still broken rank system.

Rank really doesn't matter. It may not be as easy to get to rank 1 as it used to be, but it really still is not hard to safety pip at any point. Essentially every game is at least a safety pip. Throw in a couple pips here and there and you will eventually get to rank 1.

Just like before the changes it is more a display of how much time you've put into the month of play and not an actual measure of any kind of skill at the game.

It requires the camera to be pointing at GF for 0.3 seconds before the 1.5s of revealing start, otherwise Survivors could just rotate their camera around willy-nilly and still reveal GF without putting any effort into it.

^ This, but I am also confused as to why they broke it into a buffer time + reveal time rather than just having a 1.8s reveal time. Unless there is an addon or something that increases the amount of time it takes to be revealed. Haven't actually looked at all GF's addons.

  • I used to really dislike rank reset because it always seemed like DCs would always happen a ton, but now they just happen a ton all the time. So just another day in the fog I suppose.

That's because it doesn't happen often. But when it does happen, it can very much screw the Trapper over. It's a similar problem I have with flashlights screwing over Hag traps and Adrenaline screwing over current Freddy. All these hard counters built into Survivor perks and items have got to go IMO.

Yeah I could see a Trapper having a REALLY bad day if there was a coordinated sabo team.

The Hag trap being broken by a flashlight doesn't bother me as much since she can set another rather than that trap becoming unusable for a certain amount of time, but still wouldn't mind a change to that too.

  • @TAG said:

Honestly, I'd rather they just removed the ability to sabotage Bear Traps. It feels like an outdated design choice with regards to the direction the game went in.

From what I am reading in responses I don't think it'd change much if they did remove it at this point. lol

the only time i see trapper's traps getting sabotaged is when the trapper is running that ultra rare add-on that resets the trap every 30 secs. the ones near infinities&exit gates are usually the ones that get sabotaged

Definitely seems like it would be useful in that scenario since it would be disabled for longer. With how few Trappers I see in red ranks the likelihood of going against a Trapper with a specific addon is pretty low though, but will keep this in mind for the future.

  • @Ihatelife said:

It was meta before the 1.5.0 comes out. Sabotaging traps was ez back then.

Good to know the history of the game, but I was more inquiring as to if anyone currently does it. Still give you an upvote for solid info tho. <3

  • @Redd said:

When traps didn't respawn, it was more common.

When hooks didn't respawn, it happened in almost every game.

Now it's very rare because you are wasting your time to remove one bear trap for 3 minutes when you could just as easily disarm it and move on.

Yeah, makes sense. Kinda the reason why I asked. Since I have never seen anyone do it, I wanted to know if anyone actually does. xD

  • @Orion

I started playing after regeneration was implemented so was not around for that time I guess.

  • @Orion said:

Yes. You must be very new if that's the case.

Nope not new at all, have only ever seen people just snap them. Never seen anyone actually sabo one.

  • @HazeHound said:

Well i think Hag is good, just not popular.

But flashlights are way to strong against her. If you snipe Hag player and take flashlight with urban its way too easy to bully. I think flashlights should:

-highlight traps but take way longer to destroy them

-not highlight them but destroy as fast as it is now.

I find it weird that maps can track and reveal her traps xD.

Yeah I agree. Hag is in a good spot right now. I think she would benefit from a brief pass on some of her addons, but other than that she doesn't require anything major.

I would not be opposed to some adjustment to how her traps and flashlights interact. One option that no one has mentioned could be that a flashlight shined at a trap could disable the trap for a certain amount of time rather than just straight up destroy it.

They could just bump up her age like they did for Laurie.

True, but part of Clementines awesomeness as a character is her age and what she has done to survive.

  • @Hoodedfengm1n

From Meg's bio: "She motivated herself into becoming a high school star and earned a scholarship to college."

So she is at least college age

  • Clementine, but putting a kid/teen into the game is not something I think they would ever do.

  • @TheBean said:

Then BHVR should be informing them of that.

That was very disheartening to see and hear.

@se05239 they see everything. It really is up to them if they acknowledge it or not.

@TheBean BHVR should inform who of what?

The person contacted a BHVR employee for something they should not have. The BHVR employee directed them to submit the issue to the correct channel. That is what they did. Am I missing something?

  • @Peanits said:

Part of me says that you'd have to block offerings as well, otherwise you could cheese your way to an easy win with a mori in spite of all the other powerful stuff being blocked. But at the same time, that would mean you can't bring bloodpoint offerings, so that would turn me away.

I'd probably play it for fun every once in a while. I like to mix things up, but sometimes I also just like to do something specific and random perks would get in the way of that.

Yeah I didn't exclude offerings for the very reason of not being able to bring BP offerings. I really don't see how Mori's would be any more of an issue than what they are in the normal mode. In most cases Ebony Mori is gonna be a sad day for any survivor. Doesn't matter what perks they have.

  • I don't have time to watch the actual stream right now, but from the original discussion it sounded like the the streamer contacted a BHVR employee who told the streamer to report the player through the in-game reporting system.

There is nothing wrong with a BHVR employee telling a customer to report a player through the system that is designed specifically for that. The problem would come from if that BHVR employee promised the person would get banned. Which I am assuming was not the case, but please correct me if there is evidence in the stream that says otherwise.

Talking ######### about a solo using self care while you're on Dead Hard, DS AND MoM?

Criticizing someone who is running a meta build. *eyeroll*

  • Sounds.....fixed? You must be joking.

  • Knockout + Deerstalker. I don't do it all that often cause I know it's not fun to be slugged... but it is an entertaining combo to run and watch the survivors running around trying to find where their teammate went down. Knockout is fully countered by SWF though, like so many other things, which makes having fun with it a little hard at times.

  • Nope, there is no option to play against bots. Just gotta jump in and start learning. Just ignore the toxic people and you'll be fine. :D

  • I find Spirit Fury more useful, just cause pallets are on every map. Where as windows can be few and far between on certain maps.

The only real consistent use I get out of Bamboozle is to shut down killer shack looping.

  • This title baited me. feelsdirtyman

  • "then the majority of other killers should be buffed"

    Yep.

I can't see how it could be abused. Your character would stay still until you reconnect, and if you don't, your character disappears. I can't see any problems here.

    @Groxiverde

Yep that is one option. I asked the question "what happens to your character when you DC." though. For example what if your character just leaves the game or falls to the ground like it currently does. Then you rejoin and pop back up. This could be abused.

If it were to be the method you mention. Would the survivor just die instantly if they were disconnected and not there to struggle for their second hook? Does this method of having their uncontrolled character still be interactable give the killer an unfair advantage? The survivors have essentially lost a teammate, but the killer can easily get downs/hooks to proc their perks.

It's not such an easy decision as "they just reconnect 4head"

  • I've actually been seeing way more actual DCs recently then people using the Leave Game button. I've been in several matches over the past fews day where 2-3 people will just legitimately be disconnected from the match.

But combine this with people just ragequitting as well..... can't even play this game anymore.

  • @Adonisadon234

How would you envision this working from a gameplay standpoint? Cause disconnecting then reconnecting could be abused depending on what happens to your character when you DC.

  • @DoubleTap

I didn't mind that he killed me rather than giving me hatch. With how much I ran him i'm sure he really wanted me dead at that point. Plus from his point of view it probably wasn't super obvious the Nea wasn't doing anything.
