Tonight very few killers are playing. My Survivor Queues for the first time in all the time I've been playing are taking more than a minute.
Be patient, you'll get a game eventually.... then 1-3 people will disconnect/leave the game. Have fun!
-
I recall not_Queen, during the Q&A stream, saying they would let us know.... she didn't specify when or how though. Just that it had only been 2 days since the launch of the PTB so they didn't have anything else to share other than "we're planning on making changes"

I stopped playing DBD before Devotions were introduced, stop trying to derail the topics
I quit when infinites were still not fixed and it was horrible, if you still have doubts i am willing to show you screenshots of the devs helping me with my save, but in return your apologies since you started it first with accusing left and right
I was just saying it looked odd and you started getting defensive. Now you have said it was a save reset, you were compensated, but now are claiming you played before devotion was even a thing. *shrug*
I'm not interested in any of your claims/proof and will drop it as I didn't mean to make it seem like I was attacking you. Just was remarking of the oddity of claiming 3k hours, having all P3-50 killers, and only being lvl 61 Devotion 0. It doesn't add up, so I commented.
-
And nope, never heard of compensation being given back on save resets. Which is why everyone complains about their legacy skins if they lose their save.

You ever heard of a thing called losing your save file then get compensated by the devs?
I sure have. You saying you lost your devotion levels but not your P3-50 all killers?
EDIT: Oooooo nice quick edit you did there from changing it from asking "you ever heard of a save reset?"

Proof I only play Killer, i had 3K hours in total in DBD, played since launch
3K hours and only lvl 61 Devotion 0? Something is fishy here.

Spirit is viable and better than Huntress.
I don't disagree with your overall point, but the fact you think Huntress is part of the top 3 rather than Spirit...... makes me doubt your game knowledge.
-
I heard that as well when the question was asked if Leatherface was going to get looked at soon..... Sounds like Nurse is pretty high up on their upgrade/rework list.....
Be afraid Nurse mains! :(

Tell me the last time y'all equipped Enduring SOLELY for DS?
Never? Failing to see how that is relevant though.
If perk A get changed because perk B is effecting it. Then perk B gets changed to no longer effect perk A, it would stand to reason the change to perk A would be reverted. Doesn't matter what perks. Just common sense.

Never having to play Haddonfield or Badham again? I like it.

Right?? Thats why if you wanna test something, its better with friends.
(also pls i need somebody to help test it with me ;-;)
I would..... but this is the first PTB I haven't opted in to. While I love the Ghostface character, his playstyle just doesn't look fun to me. So not worth the time to download the PTB to try out something I most likely won't be using.
Might end up buying him just so I can have his perks for other killer builds, but now I am just waiting for Freddy rework cause his playstyle looks way more fun.
Hope you find people!
-
If the only thing being tested is a new killer most people will be trying to play it rather than playing survivors..... queues are going to be loooooooong
-
While tunneling and killing a survivor will slow the game down once they are dead. It is still not the best way to play. Here is an example:
Tunneling - You hook a survivor and proxy camp and wait for unhook. While survivor is hooked you have potentially 3 survivors working on gens while you are waiting for an unhook. 1 survivor comes to unhook (2 survivors still on gens).
Not tunneling - You hook survivor and start chasing another survivor. Now only 2 survivors are working on gens, and one has to stop to get the unhook. leaving 1 survivor on a gen.
If you want to tunnel, you will most likely lose 2-3 gens for doing so. The game will slow down considerably once you kill the person and it will make it easier to defend the remaining gens, but overall it is not the most reliable and efficient way to play.

Too many good people to decide on a "favorite"
Peanits for his crow memes, puns, and amazing work on the forums.
not_Queen for her SuRpRiSeS, pebbles, and being an awesome community manager.
I also always love hearing/watching Stefan Horvath on the livestreams talk about the game. He is always super knowledgeable, well spoken, and puts off the vibe that he truly loves what he does and the game he works on.
Louis McLean also seems like a super chill guy and his twitch streams and appearances on the BHVR streams are always great too.
-
I made a post about the map reworks and BL if you wanted to see Peanits response to it:
Does anyone think they will make changes to Bloodlust once they start reworking maps to get rid of a lot of the super safe loops, strong vaults, or infinites?NOED has counterplay and other perks such as Adrenaline that balance it out. MoM just punishes already weak killers and has no counterplay for those killers.
-
How dare you put my beautiful Huntress below Hag..... even though it's probably true. T_T

@Peanits said:
I'm not quite sure what you mean by "another game". If you're referring to Deathgarden, then you should probably know that it was reworked from the ground up with feedback from their community, and the reception has been great so far.
In any case, we wouldn't ban you for criticizing the game. Plenty of people do that on a daily basis without being banned. The key is constructive criticism. We can't do anything with "bad game, bad devs". If you let us know what it is you don't like, we can work with that and try to find a way to make it better.
In addition to that, we do not pay any content creators to say good things about the game. The closest thing we have to that is the Fog Whisperer program. They are not paid outside of little benefits here and there (a little bit of promotion, free Auric Cells, DLC codes to give away, etc.), and they are free to criticize things they don't like. The only thing that we ask is that they keep their feedback constructive, just as we would expect from anyone else.
Yeah..... anyone who has ever watched any of the Fog Whisperers content knows they are not shy about voicing their complaints.
-
Creative idea. I think the whole survivor being in "Caught" state and all other survivors being "Exposed" until they reach the safe zone would be too OP. It would also potentially punish other players for someone else's mistakes. Which is never fun.
I like the hide and seek concept though.
-
As much as I dislike Ruin and don't run it on most killers. Hag, like trapper, unfortunately does need it. Even if it only lasts 30-60 seconds before getting broken, you need that initial generator delay to give you time to setup. Definitely replace NOED for this.
Make your choice is good and will heavily punish anyone who triggers traps during/after unhooks.
Like others have said: you could drop BBQ, but only do so if you are confident on your ability to find people after hooks. I rarely ever run BBQ anymore since everyone expects it and I never have trouble finding people anyways. If you do replace it i'd say Sloppy Butcher would be good since you are running Nurses Calling.

I don't know.... with dedicated servers and their announcement of bringing group re-queue into the game by incorporating an in-game system for friends lists.... cross platform progression could someday be a thing. Dedicated servers will at least give them the power to implement it if they want to dedicate the resources to it.
-
Also for future reference: their current release schedule is to do a PTB, then 2 weeks later release the PTB changes to Live.
So this cycle is: PTB on the 4th. Release on the 18th.

@Peanits said:
We are considering it, but unfortunately we don't have anything set in stone just yet. If we were to do that, we would need to make sure that it's never needed on any map first. Disabling it only on the maps with no strong loops wouldn't really be an option since that would be incredibly confusing for people who don't know exactly which maps it works on.
Understandable. I agree it would be too confusing to have it only on for certain maps. Glad to know you all are thinking about it though.
-
Is this something BHVR is taking into account for the map reworks? It seems like if only a couple maps are getting reworked at a time BL will become a lot stronger for those maps if it is kept around.

Both, given that this is not a free game ($106 for the full game without cosmetics) on top of the already existing cosmetic shop, the battle pass is overkill. The whole exclusive thing sucks too because they said in the past that they would avoid that path at all costs. So if the cosmetics WERE obtainable in the store after a set time or if the base game were free (and original DLCs after a certain period of time), then I'd have less of an issue with it. Adding a battle pass to everything that already exists is redundant.
Ah I got you, thanks for the explanation.
It definitely is a daunting pricetag for a new player to the game, but I don't think they could ever really make the original game or past DLCs free unless they could establish enough of a secure income from their cosmetics.
Since it is a live game that is constantly being added to, changed, and supported they have to continue to bring in money on it.
Even though I dislike the exclusivity I know it will drive the sales of the BattlePass. I just hope they put that money back into the game towards more people and resources.
-
I'm a bit confused by your post after reading the title, the post, and all the replies. So in all seriousness let me ask: Are you actually angry about the Battle Pass being a thing, or just the exclusivity aspect of the paid cosmetics?
Personally I see the Battle Pass as a great way for the developers to continue to add cosmetics into the game and reward all players, and give the players the additional option to purchase more cosmetics and help support the game.
I do absolutely agree though on the exclusivity thing. It is a very obvious sales tactic to boost sales. A person is much more likely to buy something if they know they won't have the chance to ever get it again.
-
I think the power looks good as is and we should try it out before suggesting changes.
But with that said, your idea is creative and not bad at all.
-
"They can see him at enough distance to not be a big issue."
I think that is quite an assumption to make from a 5 second clip. Especially considering the different factors of a match such as if he will be in line of sight, but to each their own. I will continue to speculate potential until we can playtest it and see how people react.
"After the current pip changes there are much less potatoes at red ranks than there used to be."
Less yes, but there are still plenty. It really isn't hard to get to red ranks still.
We appear to have very different opinions so rather than this devolving into a pointless argument, when it was meant to be just a speculation thread of potential, I will say we can agree to disagree. Once it can actually be tested and see how people play, we can talk more. GL in the fog.
-
"This isn't going to work against red ranks."
Red Ranks can see through invisibility? If they run to a point where they see Freddy and turn around, they have still wasted time and closed the distance to the killer.
Not sure if you actually play in red ranks and are talking from experience..... but there are some pretty bad people in red ranks.
-
Yep I expect that will be what survivors eventually learn to look for and do, but regardless they are off the gen. It will open up a lot of mind game as well since Freddy will be invisible from a certain distance away now you could potentially get close to a gen, but not too close, start channeling to force a survivor to run. If they run towards you, cancel it and chase them. If they run away, finish the channel and chase them.
-

I'm expecting it to make PGTW actually an auto include on him. Makes it much more reliable to use on the gen you want.
The teleport is nice for mobility but that's gonna be the end of it. You aren't actually getting any surprise jumps on people with it unless they're blind.
If you read my post the usefulness I am mentioning actually comes from the fact that survivors see you coming with it. Forcing survivors to run without actually having to be there..... is good.
-
@Dustin I don't think they specified a range. CD and Range will be the big determining factors of how useful the power actually is.
-
Unless they put heavy CD or distance restrictions on it. An ability to teleport to a generator..... oh my I am excited.
I don't even care the survivor is notified I am coming. The ability to get a survivor off a gen is amazing and so much pressure. Accompany that with the ability to appear there and begin a chase. mmmmmmmmmm
-
I think he mentioned in a post a few days back that he wouldn't be on there and would be helping mod chat.
Someone's gotta do the job while everyone else talks and parties. :(
-
In many Twitch streams it is considered poor form or even not allowed to talk about or reference other streamers.
I don't know what was being said in chat since I didn't have it opened, but I do not find it odd that people mentioning specific streamer names would get a timeout for it.

I believe he's jokingly referring to how so many people on this forum complain about content that hasn't even been released yet.
^^^^^ @Mashtyx1

Don't worry, if nothing happens it just means there is more time to complain about and criticize every announcement before we actually try any of it.

On paper this sounds ok but you’re not considering times when last survivor has a key. So killer closes hatch before survivor finds it & the survivor is shown where hatch was.... free escape GGEZ
@Daniel101773 Yep, In my 2nd post in this thread I said I hadn't originally thought about if the survivor had a key. I don't see people bring a key or find a key all that often, but it would for sure be a bit to easy for them if they did.
-
@Dreamnomad said:
If it was a noise indicator like when a gen is done then I think that would be fair. Makes it more of a mind game when both players know which door the killer is closest to.
Yeah exactly. More mindgame, less random "Survivor: I pick this gate. Killer: I pick this gate." situations
-
@theArashi I don't really think killers are ever trying to be sneaky after closing the hatch. They are just closing it and booking it to a gate to check it.
Although after thinking about the idea further it may give too much of an advantage to survivors with keys who have not located the hatch yet. Could just hide, wait for killer to close the hatch, and be shown where to run to.
*shrug*
Like I said I like EGC, but think adding this little bit of info would change things up just slightly for the better.
-
Outplayed I guess
-
I've played enough of both sides to try and look at things from both perspectives and try to be unbiased...... but I always still seem to gravitate towards the killer sided point of view since I see it as the harder and more stressful role and play survivor to relax since it is so much easier.

alt tabbing and disconnecting your internet takes 5 seconds, not a lot of time or effort required
@Sythalin While this whole conversation is speculation... just wanted to second this in reply to your "The true over-exaggeration is the likeliness of someone actually getting up just to unplug their cable to exit a match"
You do not need to physically unplug a cord to disconnect your internet. It can be done with just a few clicks.
-
Yay these are the best posts. I agree.
