Killers get the red carpet. They roflstomp survivors left and right and complain about not being able to rolfstomp harder.
Reason you get DCs is because roflstomping too hard.
Play with your food. Let them get points too. (Should actually get more points for the killer for this sort of stuff IMO...)
Or you go super unlucky and the world took away the internet from 2 of your survivors... but most likely they had enough of killer-focused gameplay and left.
Survivor Logic: I am going to de-pip and get almost no BP. Should I leave now or waste 20 minutes of my life for no reason? Hmmmm.
I downed the guy, a meg messed up the pallet save and he DC'ed. Explain to me how I could have prevented that.

I only get annoyed by a DC if when it kicks all of us out of a trial. Considering that ONE single DC just wasted 4 others time. If someone is gonna DC. Let them DC. Leave the rest to continue playing. Dunno why One single Player can DC and take all out of play.
the DC lost me a rank

She's being used so much for the same reason Freddy IS and Nurse ISN'T. They're extremely strong and extremely simple to play/learn and require little mechanical skill.
Finally, I %100 agree.

Spirit is not the only killer with guessing, every killer does to a degree. Faking the Red light at a jungle gym? GhostFace going undetectable with M2? Huntress readying/not readying a hatchet at a pallet? Demo charging shred around a corner? These are all true 50/50s if the killer does it right and They're perfectly fine. What makes spirit's 50/50s not fine is that they're not. Standing still at a pallet isn't initiating a mindgame or anything, she's just waiting to see what you do. Still don't understand the whole "me see Spirit stand still, me run away from loop" because she's just gonna phase walk up to you and hit you because you're leaving scratch marks AND you're also now out in the open away from everything??? Like the Spirit can see you run away she doesn't suddenly lose the ability to use her power or see things when she stands still.
Did you not read my post ? I literally said that every game AND every killer has luck involved in it but when skill and luck is a 50/50 split, the problem starts to arise.

Looping was never intended to be a thing! They thought that survivor's would just drop the pallet and dip tf out! But looping evolved to become a thing hence why BHVR added Bloodlust and than reworked looping! I ultimately think that we as a community gave the devs the idea of Spirit, because of mindgaming!
I literally don't know what to say here. The devs never intended you to hide your red light either ?
Besides, if a survivor dropped a pallet and ran, the killer would win EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

Your attitude towards games that hybridizes strategy and chance is why you lose and why you feel bad about these games.
1) Hearthstone is maybe 30% lucky and 70% skill. Ok granted, I quit about 2 years ago after they started including more RNG cards but in principal managing your deck and managing those chances are still inherently strategy and skill.
2) Players are not computer-generated dice. They have bias. They will mind game. They can be mindgamed. You're one of those people who believe Rock Paper Scissors is pure chance and think people who win more than 50% of the time are just "lucky". You're not playing against a computer, you're playing against a human being, who is making a decision. You're making a decision based on what decision you think they would make, as are they making a decision based on what decision they think you will make based on what you think they will make, it goes on.
3) Spirit is about mind game. She will mind game you, as you can mind game her.
Stop being autistic and focusing only on how you feel about the stress and anxiety playing against Spirit. Start thinking about how the spirit player is feeling and thinking. Idling by a pallet is not an indefinite randomized effort. They're actively thinking. Being chased down by phase walk also isn't a random left or right guess, remember what the Spirit sees and thinks. They're looking at scratch marks and listening for audio queues. You can 360, you can suddenly stop running and walk backwards. There's loads of ways to bypass phasewalk.
Additionally, yes you can have some cue whether or not she's phasing. Between the audio and the animation. Sure, she has random fake phases, but whenever she's not doing that animation, you know she's definitely not doing it.
1 - Hearthstone today is not. What are you on about ?
2 - The person that wins that mindgame you are talking about is the better player because s/he has more experience in the game, thus, could predict the movement but there is a clear line between skill and luck. Spirit is pure luck. If you escape her, you are lucky. If you don't you are not. A good Spirit will always catch you on %90 volume with Stridor, there is nothing you can do against that lol.
3 - That is a mindgame ? In a mindgame, you think. In this, you don't ! You goddamn guess ! How did you not understand this yet. You are such an idiot. Read before you speak.
You know the Spirit doesn't see scratch marks without the iridescent addon, right ? You don't know anything about this killer yet you come here to lecture us. Good job man. Good job.
What animation ? There is literally no animation ! What are you talking about lol.

Ik how to mindgame! I just don't like dealing with looping because it's the same tactic over and over again! And trust me it's soon-feeding because all survivors have to do is peak around corners looking for information which nullifies skill (imo at least)!
My definition of skill is using basic character knowledge and how the player is playing the character to outplay the other! When I play survivor I don't feel this unless I'm playing against Nurse (sometimes), Spirit or Slinger (though I gotta get better at playing against Slinger before I complain about him)! Why? I'm feeding off information! That's like taking a test, but your given the answer key!
I advise you to watch Scott Jund's video "How to Run Tiles in DbD". Even if you can't mindgame and get a hit, you can atleast force the pallet drop. You play Spirit so you don't mindgame, then. You want to make the game 50x easier.

Alright, so let's imagine your against a spirit, shes got stridor so her tracking is enhanced by that , but what many also dont think about is that it also makes their ability to gauge distance worse , so using a double back and walking through her later into the phase more often than not gets you some d iui stance because they'll be out of juice by then..now spirit is on decent cooldown..another thing you can do is to treat her like oni..some spirits only phase against injured players since it's when shes strongest..so just give up a few pallets..having pallets is slightly less important because spirit in phase doesnt need a pallet to be trumped although it helps..also use structures to your advantage , she can't ignore them and they give you more ways to force her to exit phase to try and get you via windows and safer pallets.
She can HEAR you. Going backwards or doing some stuff wont change that. If you run into her, she might hear you or even worse, collide with you ! "Give up a few pallets" ? There are, like, 12 on the map ! If you give 2 per chase, you'll out by them the 6th time, and if your teammates do the same you'll lose all pallets in a short amount of time !

There are no facial expressions but the Spirit still turns and moves a bit because the other player is controlling them. You can use the micromovements to possibly try and gauge if they are moving or turning slightly in the direction they are thinking of phasing for instance similar to how you can try to gauge where a ranged killer might be aiming. You can also do a loop one particular way in one chase and do it a different way the next chase.
I’m certainly not claiming Spirit is weak at loops, fyi. She’s strong because she’s harder to react to. But the killer running her isn’t random and there are players who are better than average at making correct reads on how Spirits are going to play. My issue here isn’t even about Spirit in particular, it’s about this recurring thing where when people need to guess what other people are going to do it’s called “luck” or “a coin toss” when it’s not.
"Moves" ? What ? A good Spirit won't move an inch. You don't know what you are talking about.
It is a coin toss. If you walk into her and she is in phase, she hits you ! If you walk into her and she is not, she hits you ! If you don't walk into her and she is phase, she hears you (Stridor) ! If you don't walk into her and she is not in phase, she will go into phase so that she can hit you. Very cool man. Very cool.

Looping has always been luck based for killers. even the act we call "mindgaming" is nothing but luck in guessing what the survivor will do. Even the best streamers fail as often as succeed. watch them live, instead of the videos they upload, and you'll see that it's true. Survivors have the powwer role in looping, and killers have to rely mostly on luck for the non-see-through loops.
Survivors are mad that Spirit turns this around on them.
Not as much as Spirit. Spirit removes every skill whatsoever. If you are good at the game then you will mindgame correctly. If the other person is better, they will expect it. With Spirit, all of this gets thrown out the window. You guess.

Thank you people dont understand that when she stands still all she has to so is react to what you do. If you leave phase to you. If you stay phase to the other side. If you walk into her free hit.
She knows where she is going. The survivor can guess, the Spirit doesn't have to. Spirit can react to foot steps, breathing, grass and other stuff while the survivor can "guess bruh".

And guessing is the purpose of Spirit and how BHVR intended on her to be used!
All this Spirit complaining but nobody ever stops to think why she's being used so much!
As a Spirit main, I play Spirit because there will be times were I don't wanna play Ring Around The Rosie with survivor's just to spoon feed them counterplay no matter how right or perfect I play my cards!
Y'all have a problem with guessing and just hoping that y'all made the right call, killer's like Wraith, Pig, Legion, etc, have to mindgame survivor's and hope that the move they make was the right thing to do in order to make survivor make a mistake!
The point that I'm trying to get at is that neither side likes guessing and that obviously means the looping needs to be looked at!
Guessing is just bad. It takes all the skill out of the game. So, you play Spirit because she is easier then other killers ? Besides, Wraith, Pig or Legion don't have guessing. Pig has guessing if a survivor is camping an unsafe pallet, which is just stupid. Wraith sneaks up on people, what is the guessing here ? You can literally see him ! Legion ? How ? S/he literally runs at you !
I know why she is used so much. I just told you in this post. She has guessing. No other killer has it (like I said, there is guessing in every game and every killer but one part has to be heavier, DbD is a game about skill while Spirit is a killer about guessing !). If you literally cannot mindgame to counter a looping survivor, you probably need to play more killer and, as much as I hate saying this, get good.
You are not "spoonfeeding" them counterplay. The game has to do that and the game failed the second Spirit came out ! But by playing Spirit, you are hurting yourself and other players. You are not learning how to counter survivors who loop good and you are making their life miserable by playing Spirit in the first place !
Looping is fine but perks that extend loops at little cost (such as Dead Hard) need to be looked at.
@dugman said:
I hate when people say guessing what other people are doing is “random”. People aren’t dice, they’re predictable. There’s a reason professional poker tournaments for instance feature the same players, they not only understand the math of poker but also how to gauge what their opponents are thinking. There’s even championships for Rock, Paper, Scissors which on the surface sounds as random as you can get and yet the best players win more often than lose because they have an innate understanding of human psychology in the game.
While it’s true you can’t be 100% sure of what someone is going to do you can make educated guesses that are more likely to be true than a simple coin toss and also can condition your opponent to act a certain way based on prior behavior in a match.
Please, tell me how to understand if a Spirit isn't phasing or not. This is a literal coin toss. In the games you told, people are face to face, this makes guessing way easier if you understand expression language. Yes, you can't be %100 sure about what someone is going to do and yes, you can do educated guesses but by the time you understood the killer, its too late. Either all the gens are done or the other 3 survivors are dead.

I always thought that the term sweaty tryhard was meant for someone who was being competitive when the rest of their team was trying to have fun. So like, you're part of an SWF and 3/4 of you are trying to mess around with the killer, but your fourth teammate starts criticizing everyone else for not doing objectives. The guy criticizing everyone else is the sweaty tryhard. As the killer, I don't see how it applies, because being a sweaty tryhard (in the eyes of the survivors) is the only way to really win as a killer.
Edit: Also, I haven't had any problems 4king as a console killer with crossplay. If I didn't have the sensitivity BHVR recently added, I would have been in trouble. But PC survivors behave just like console survivors. Granted, they do spin A LOT more quickly. When I go up against a bunch of other platforms, I'm extra careful with aiming my hits.
Well, I think being sweaty is just ruining other peoples fun just to win

I didn't mean to sound rude or disrespectful, I was just very curious why I was having so many issues with one killer in particular when i've been tunneled by Trappers and Face Camped by LF's and still gotten wins. I even had the unfortunate accident of feeding Myers into tier 3 thinking he was a glitched survivor and still gotten out with my whole team. I guess the fault lies in my inability to pallet drop properly?
Unless you are at a very bad place (like one of those LT walls in the corner of the Swamp) you will probably reach a pallet before the Clown can get to you. Windows are not very safe against Clown, don't use them unless they are very safe.
So lets say you get hit by him and you sprint away to a safe pallet, he has nothing to do. He literally cannot do anything other than breaking the pallet. If you loop efficiently there won't be a problem.

@PigMainClaudette said:
This is just a reminder that yes, there are indeed survivors who do bones in order to try and counter NoED. These players also generally don't gen-rush.
When these players come here and say that NoED is indeed a terrible perk and needs changing, they're right. They do not need to "git gud", they do not need to hear "Just do bones." and they do NOT need to hear a garbage spiel about how easy the perk is to counter, the killer is "oNlY pLaYiNg WiTh 3 PeRkS!" or the points of DS/BT/DH/UB being perks and can be stacked.
To now make the "Do bones" argument null and void, I will now highlight every way that this argument is totally invalid:
- Survivor perks, such as Decisive Strike and Unbreakable are used with the hope that they are NEVER ACTIVATED. Well, for a lot of their users anyway. People can claim this as being perks down, much like the arguments for NoED.
- The so-called Survivor equivelant, Adrenaline, is only a small and temporary boost while NoED is permanent if activated. Yes, the health state is temporary, but there are several killers that have base-kit instant downs so this really shouldn't be THAT big of an issue.
- NoED does not discriminate between those who have done totems and those who do not. This leads to several cases like mine where I am commonly doing 3-4 dull totems MYSELF and getting killed after only one hit and hook. I am being punished for others failing, not my own failure. I know that Survivor is technically a team game, but there is a point where the individual should not be punished for the failures of the team.
- It creates bad habits. Rather than actually adapting to applying pressure through various means, or learning how to improve in chases, NoED is used as a safety net in order to get kills that one would not normally be able to achieve, making them think that they are more skilled than they actually are. Rather than getting better at their role, they are telling others to do way more work because they refuse to adapt.
- Counters to a majority of Survivor perks are merely a change in mindset or playstyle, such as trading hooks to apply pressure and avoid Decisive Strike AND Borrowed Time. NoED requires survivors to go out of their way in order to stop one of your perks.
- The "counters" are also indirect and limited, also chewing up valuable perk slots for other perks to counter some of the more unsavoury tactics that killers use and are not perk dependent.
Main point here is that yes, I do the dull totems. They are more bloodpoints and cancel the perk. I AM NORMALLY THE ONE TO GET HIT BY IT. Most of these games, it is also the first hook that I will be placed on and will also ultimately kill me.
There are also many issues that I have with NoED on a fundamental level as a perk, especially with it's activation for both general activation and notification of it's activity. Every other Hex perk requires ONE totem to be destroyed, where as NoED can have up to 5 required, before endgame.
All exposure effects outside of NoED and Devour Hope also give instant notification. Devour Hope also has a lengthy list of requirements to activate outside of "be loosing" in order to achieve the same effect. Devour Hope is also a TEACHABLE perk, one that should be more powerful than base-perks as you have to do a lot more work for them to become available.
So, fellow killers, while you lot think up of an actual excuse for NoED being the way it is, I'll be off actually doing the damn bones whenever I decide to indulge in a little bit of Survivor while I try to progress my Archives. In the meantime, whenever any of you argue about Decisive Strike, Borrowed Time, Unbreakable just remember this advice, since it's ok for YOU to give it: Just don't tunnel, camp or slug. Never mind that the survivor ran at you or started working on that generator or unhooking that other survivor in your face. Kinda hypocritical, isn't it? That's how I feel every time I hear the phrase "just do bones".
I did them, so now what?
- NoED gets equipped so that it doesnt get activated too ? Which killer wants to see all gens being done ? It's just a "Plan B".
- Adrenaline is a really powerful perk, it doesn't matter if its temporary or not, it still comes in clutch since with that speed boost there is no way the killer can catch up to you. Just because its temporary doesn't mean its not a powerful perk.
- Exhaustion perks create bad habits. Why learn how to loop better when you can just press E to Dead Hard into the pallet ! Meanwhile, there is a perk that is not activated until the end of the game where the killer gets a second chance ! You play with 3 perks the entire match and survivors can still complain about a perk that has no use until the last minute of the game.
- What ? Doing totems are not survivors "going out of their way". Thats basically another objective ! You should ALWAYS look for bones, who knows, the killer might have Devour Hope.
- NoED is chewing up a perk slot until the end of the game, if you want to counter it easily you should too.
Overall, you are just whining. You didn't talk about why NoED is bad or stuff, you just said "If you pick NoED, don't complain about DH or DS or BT or Adrenaline". Was this your point ? If so, its a stupid point. All of these 4 perks are second chance perks that give the survivor 4 more chances, meanwhile if the killer has 1 second chance perk (the only killer second chance perk) thats bad ? And the perk doesn't even activate until the end of the game. You are just complaining that killers get another chance while survivors can get 4.

Yeah, thats what I am talking about, good luck on your games man, Clown might be the worst killer in the game but you can still make him work !
-
I'm not DudeDelicious but I too am a Clown main.
For addons (if you don't count the pinky finger) the flask of bleach is the best addon on Clown, use it if you have it. It slows down survivors more which is nice. Another really good addon is the Starling Feather which decreases the cooldown you have between your throws, making yourself get slowed down less. ANOTHER very good addon is the Thick Cork Stopper. You can use it too. Most of Clown's addons are quite good (except the ones where you speed up yourself when you are reloading, don't EVER touch them).
An underrated addon is the middle finger. It's actually really good for mindgames, its basically an I'm All Ears but for your bottles. The Solvent Jug is really good but it'll probably be reworked at some point because its very outdated so don't get used to it. The Sulfurid Acid Vial is really bad, just use Sloppy Butcher if you want people to be Mangled. The addons which expand the gas area are decent, you can use 'em too. The ones that increase the intoxicated effect duration are good, especially when combo'd with the Flask of Bleach.
Overall, if you don't count the pink addons you should use the Flask of Bleach with the addons I talked about above (except the bad ones, of course).
For perks, I'm going to list some perks that are useful on him.
- Brutal Strength
- Pop Goes the Weasel
- Thrilling Tremors
- BBQ&Chili
- STBFL
- Sloppy Butcher
and all the other generally good perks (Enduring, Nurse's Calling, Whispers etc.)
Edit : I forgot to mention Surge, its a really good perk especially for Clown who (if playing against a decent SWF team) doesn't have time to kick a gen. Hex : Ruin + Surveillance is good on every killer (if you can protect your hex totems) but its really good on Clown who can end chases fast but struggles to find survivors without tracking perks.

Dude, if you think Tar Bottle is necessary then I don't know if we can have a constructive conversation.
Have fun setting traps in The Game, Hawkins, Haddonfield or Badham. You can't control which map is going to get picked, you have to be prepared for everything. Of course you don't need the Tar Bottle in Autohaven or MacMillan but you don't know if those maps are going to get picked (even tho the Tar Bottle helps even in Autohaven or MacMillan, its just a must have).
@dugman said:
If maps are a huge concern when you play Trapper then maybe swap in Franklins when you see a map? You can't change your killer but you can change your loadout in the lobby. And as a bonus Franklins will make them drop toolboxes, etc as well, plus you can trap the dropped item if you really want to annoy the person who dropped it. 😈
In addition, you could focus on chasing the map holder when you spot them. Just tunnel them down and hook them to keep them from avoiding your traps. It might cost a little extra time but odds are it's only the one survivor with a map to worry about. (Kind of like a Trapper variant on how you might want to tunnel down a survivor with Object of Obsession.)
That makes sense tbh. You could do stuff like that but that sacrifices a perk slot just because of a single item which I don't really fun.

Believe me, he is. I have lost games just because the map existed. If it wasn't there I would have won those games but I didn't because using a map doesn't require any skill whatsoever. Yeah, you can't. Thats why I switched killers but now I have to leave the lobby.
@Buttercake said:
That's stupid. Small Game is used more than maps and it tells where traps are. Just don't play Trapper if you are so scared of survivors...
I don't think you know how Small Game works. It doesn't show the aura of the trap, it just tells you there is a trap. Besides, Small Game is a perk that counters Trapper with skill since it doesn't hold your hand and says "heres the trap" while maps do that and they can make playing Trapper an absolute nightmare.
If you say "thats stupid" and "don't play if you are so scared of survivors" you are missing the point. Maps require no skill to use while completely removing the Trapper's power.

Well most people don't know about flashlight destroying traps + it's your job to be unpredictable as Hag
As for Trapper, i don't think the basic map item can show bear trap.
The Rainbow Map can + If you are in red ranks people know they can destroy traps + they can just wave the beam, y'know ?

ok then "survivor holding flashlight" oh no i cannot play Hag coz traps will be destroyed, or Wraith because imma get burn.
"survivor holding medkit" oh no i cannot play Legion coz they will heal.
Every killer has a small counter by items but it's not that game-changing ^^
- Flashlights are actually a big counter to Hag since it doesn't even take a second to destroy a trap which is stupid.
- Wraith can still go around the map at high speed.
- What do you mean Legion gets countered by medkit ? Legion's job is injuring people, not keeping them injured.
- When you are playing Hag or Trapper and you see a flashlight or a map its not going to be a fun match. The survivor can find your only power and destroy it and at that point you are just a M1 killer with no power. That's not fun to play as.

So, just equiping an item can basically kill a killers' power (using CS doesn't get the 2.5 secs of not being able to do anything) and thats okay ? You want Trapper to be a M1 killer ?

I mean it's like if you said " there is a Nea in the lobby, i'm not gonna play Hag because she will certainly have Urban Evasion" ^^
No. You can't see if someone has Urban Evasion but you can see someone holding a map. Your comparison doesn't make sense

First of all, I agree that maps should not show where the killer's traps are. That is just dumb. With that said this also isn't that big of a deal either.
A.) Maps are rarely used.
B.) Maps that track killer belongings are even more rare.
C.) Even if a survivor has a map that can track killer belongings, they can only see the auras when activating the map which has a very limited amount of time to use. They can also only track items they have been close to. So they can't see every trap placed.
D.) Also not every survivor plays SWF so the amount of information relayed to others is limited in most games. 1 player having limited bonus information does not mean auto lose.
E.) Trapper has a number of add ons that are pretty effective at countering survivors disabling traps.
In conclusion, Trapper does not need to quit if a survivor brings a map.
The Trapper has to use 2 addons if he wants to play against competent teams ; A bad addon + Tar Bottle. I already made a discussion about this a while ago so I'm not going to talk about that. Basically, there is no room for another addon if you want to play against competent teams.
@LetsPlayTogether said:
Why? Your traps still manage the purpose of cutting of loops.
What ? Then why don't I play Clown ? You know there are 4 survivors, right ? And you probably know that you chase one at a time so people can disarm 'em.
@Veen said:
I never trought I'd see the day where someone complains that maps are OP.
You know they have limited charges huh ? switch your trap places mid game and the map holder won't probably know a thing if he saves his charges for the hatch.
Thus I heavily doubt map holders main objective is to disarm traps in the first place, unless it's a rainbow, map don't track killer belongings.
1 - I didn't say they were OP. They just completely disable your power and someone can just tap a map to see where traps are.
2 - There is NO addon creativity for the Trapper. Look at the first answer.
3 - "Switch your trap placements mid-game", alright, I'm going to switch every one of 6 or more traps in the game because I have time for that in the mid-game when there are like 3 gens left, right ?
@Adeloo said:
There is so few people using maps. Why not take the risk ? also not all maps are equipped to see traps.

@Terra92 said:
I mean your argument kinda falls flat when people have small game or just use their eyes.
Trapper is more of a setup guy who leads his prey in the direction he wants them to go. You shouldn't rely on the trap set up a mile away to do anything for you.
You can't see if a survivor has eyes or small game, if they do then they'll counter you, thats it but you can see if someone has a map which basically tells you before the game starts "go shove these traps up your ass". That's the problem and to see some traps you need to pay A LOT of attention.

The perk is a perk, it is not forever, i dont really understand why killers complain about DS its like 1 minute, and if they pop in a locker you can just wait or if he is doing gens in your front of you, you dont need to grab him like a bot or pick him in 1 second you can go pop the gen see if anyone is near the survival for flashlight save adn this will take likw 20 seconds and the ds will be over, and bt for bodyblock its a perk and durate for five seconds and if you are nearby you or probably camping or the survival is jsut dumb, you are basically saying that is toxic the survival use his perks to advantage, oooh the killers cant wait to the least gen pop to use noed and kill the guy in just one hit, this is not being toxic its just you cryng and trying to find a way to justify why are you camping, if this is happening to much if you, try to learn and conter this
You can't "pop a gen" if someone is working on it. You can't interact with it. You can't lunge at the survivor, the game automatically grabs them.

lol none of what you said makes sense because none of those example are abusing mechanics.
That's exactly what should be done with BT, especially if the gates are open. BT allows you to take an extra hit, so that's what you use it for.
DS allows you to not be back on the hook for 60 seconds. Idk why killers have it in their mind that survivors can't choose to do what they want with those 60 seconds. They can heal up if they want to. They can work on a gen and be one shot when they get found if they want to. They can go break totems. They can jump in and out of lockers.
Killers swear up and down that survivors have a rule book for how killers should play and then pretend that they don't have one themselves for how survivors should play.
By the way, if the survivors can "choose what they want to do" then I can choose to tunnel them !

@AngryFluffy said:
I still bring up the "What about having fun?" argument, since this is the reason why I play a game - to have fun.
If you have fun to stand in front of a hooked survivor and watch them die while gens pop around you or tunnel someone to death, you can do it. I just think playing like this is hella boring and rather want good chases. (I play both roles equally, both in red ranks btw)
If perks like BT getting abused, I try to make use out of it. If someone with BT runs at me, I just hit them (if it's early game to make them mend) and go for the unhooker or I just wait it out (pretend to go for the unhooker while the person with BT tries to block me - if BT is running out, I'll down the unhooked one instead).
If a survivor with DS sits on a gen in my face I just down them and eat the DS if it's early game to get rid of it or slug them til it runs out in endgame.
Same for flashlights. If someone clicks at you and want to be chased, just ignore them and go for someone else. They'll often follow you instead of doing gens. You can often bait the flashlight safe to get free hits on them.
Tbh I rather go against a "bully" squad where I can take advanage of in some scenarios than against 4 Blendettes just rushing gens. I had a game a few days ago against a 4 man SWF where all 4 run me around the shack, trying stupid things with head on and flashlights and at first I thought it will be a terrible match, but this was one of the most fun game I've had for a long time. They were all running around for good chases, literally nobody did a gen and I got a 3k and gave the last one hatch. Also turned out they were really nice people in the chat. This was way more entertaining than 3 gens poping at the same time when you get your first hook.
As killer I also play to have fun. But I'm having fun by just playing normally - but tbh I also don't really care about kills or pips. I just play the game and sometimes even try stupid things, that also kinde cost me kills. But I also noticed when I play just for fun, most survivors just join in. Yesterday I had a game as Piggy and I noticed pretty early that I was going against a really skilled group that were far above my skill level. So istead of swaeting for kills, I just tried out stupid #########, testing my ability with the dash and so on, just having a little fun myself. They noticed it pretty quickly and just joined in to try stupid things in the game. It wasn't a farming round or anyting, just everyone having fun for a few minutes and booping snoots. In the end, 2 of them even sacrificed themself on endgame in the exit gate to give me more points.
I really enjoy rounds like that, but I also don't take this game serious at all. maybe that's why.
If you want to stand in front of hooks, have fun with that I guess. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I don't mean staring at someone, I mean patrolling the hook aggresively (if thats what you call it), standing in front of a hook is really boring.

^ this.
The amount of killers I've seen say they're allowed to do this and that and then turn around to complain about what survivors do is just sad. Survivors do as they do because of these killer playstyles (usually)...
Not saying you're not allowed to play how you please but like it sounds like you're complaining about what survivors do when you don't want them to complain about how you play, Erk. So just like... don't? and idk... no need to even bring this whole thing up?
In a normal match I don't tunnel, camp or do any of that. If the other team is actively ruining my fun, I'll ruin theirs too.
@MomoMoon said:

I mean, yeah? As long as you're not "abusing" something that isn't working as intended AND implemented there's no issue. And by that I don't mean stuff like using DS aggressively instead of defensively by that I mean stuff like the Wake Up bug and Legion Blades bug when they were around.
And from what you're saying you avoid the other "sin" when it comes to playing "dirty" too - being a hypocrite. Nothing is worse than someone doing something commonly considered dirty/toxic/whatever that then starts absolutely seething when their opponent(s) do the same thing in return.
If the other side can play dirty, I will too. In a match where everyone is respectful to each other, I will be a fair playing killer. This is not hypocrisy. This is basically "giving them a taste of their own medicine".
@ClawsOfHell said:
Don't play toxic just because people are toxic to you but punish them if you know a survivors it's running at you because they have BT and DS just wait the BT and down him and let the DS run out and, don't tunnel people just because they are click click with flashlight most of the times thoose people want you attetion because they are good looper or just because they have broken perks that suport their lack of skill like DH for brain dead plays so you probrably gonna loose because you're chasing the wrong guy.
As a killer you should not have fun JUST when you kill people you have to have fun playing and doing great plays and stuff like that as i huntress i love when i play a good match when i can snipe people and wins loops that they think they are safe even if i loose because sometimes you do so well but still loose because how unbalanced the game is i'm still having fun and this make less frustrating playing killer when you have to deal with toxic people.
I'm not saying play fair always NO if you know they are toxic you should play smart and malicious "Oh you know that when you leave the hook 5s later someone rescue?" great hook, leave and go back immediately and punish them but just do that when is necessary sometimes killers tunnel me just because i'm good looper but they should not stay in a chase if takes to long i was playing against a spirit and i use two times sprint burst in the same chase(Vigill btw) and she camped me and said "toxic" and i was afk for the first hook but she got so mad just because i did my "job" this it's a example of punishment without necessity.
Well, I'm a Clown main. I don't care about clicky btw, why do people think that ? Thats not abusing a games mechanics, thats actually nothing !
I can't punish a toxic and decent SWF team while playing fair, I need to do some dirty stuff if I want to compete with them.
@Chatkovski said:
Once again, justifying your own actions so much... You don't really seem comfortable with your own decisions, and your morals. And someone's morals are judged by their ability to almost never derive from them.
For me, camping is characterized by the deterrent effect, which prevents the survivor from being unhooked. We talk about tunneling once the survivor is off the hook. Borrowed Time is not an anti-camping perk, it's an anti-tunneling perk, it just depends on another survivor.
When a Survivor is unhooked while you're nearby, and that Survivor walks towards you, you may think for a moment and suspect that he has the effect of Borrowed Time, and decide not to hit him. Same goes for DS, all it takes is a little memory and thinking: hit it, it's always less generator repair, and wasted time for the survivors.
Normally, you are only allowed one mistake each time. If you decide to hit a survivor with the Borrowed Time effect, you have to remember who has the perk, and don't hit again in the future and take the opportunity to hit the other survivor. Same thing for DS (and it is therefore better to eat a DS in the early game, rather than be surprised once the exit doors open...).
I have no problem with "tunneling" as long as the survivors have enough tools to deal with it. It becomes more questionable when a killer decides to ignore all of the other survivors (although that would have been a better decision, strategy not to ignore them), only to interact with one survivor. This is partly the problem with camping as well.
From memory, I see only one perk actually acting on the camping. It's Camaraderie, and it's really useless.
Finally, it is a little strange that these perks comfort you in behaviors / strategies when their goal is precisely to prevent that. If something bothers you about these perks, denounce it, but don't act in a way that specifically justifies the existence and effectiveness of these perks... DS is pretty debated right now, if that can give you any reassurance, a change is predictable.
I can rant about these perks all day but I don't think thats very original, is it ? In this post what I'm trying to say is simple, if the other side uses something not its intended way I, too, can use something not its intended way.

Please read in full translate in your language. Notice: I am 100% sure that all of us who are old players in this dead by Daylight game will agree with me because they know how things were before, new players if they are going to criticize, inform yourself first. Dead by Daylight in times of 2017 was a great game, it was perfect both in killer and in survivor compared to how it is now. They are going to take away the essence of the game. Look at the doctor, the nurse, the ruin and a lot of perks that have ######### over time (DESICIVE STRIKE) as well as mechanics. What I want with this is that all the players of this game reconsider and support me as the developers continue the game is going to end up dying what they have done lately has been a disaster I was dissatisfied with this game since the nerf of Desicive strike in 2019 was not something necessary before criticizing me in this part I have my argument please read before criticizing we all deserve to be heard Desicive strike perk teachable by Laurie strode at level 40 since it came out it has been a very criticized and requested perk by nerf..ok I understand At this point, this will frustrate several killers, because if the team had all 4 players wearing this perk, it would take a long time to understand that point, but was it necessary to render it unusable? Let's think please they are telling me that to occupy it, the killer has to hang up first after I get off the hook, I have 60 seconds of use, which is literally unusable, I heal and almost all the timing has expired, it is true that sometimes it saves you but how rare it is what happens almost never besides now it is so easy to counteract after picking up the killer will go for you and leave you on the ground wait 60 seconds and hang again before having done this destruction that they made this perk so much that they complained about the stun would have reduced it at least but from the beginning it is active or if they wanted it not to start active they could do that ######### mechanic of hanging you first and then they would unload you this active without time so it would be balanced and it would always be used not as they did now this would be all my opinion about the game currently that if they continue as they are now they will die slowly and believe me they will regret later .. Thanks for reading and I hope I come to you and take into account my request
So, just because it doesn't work you want to force the killers to slug every time ? If you don't use it, that means the perk has done its job and you are not being tunneled.

How many times did you encounter a game changing bug.
Be intellectually honest, how many times you actually found a completely game changing bug? not a sfx bug, not an animation bug, not a sound que bug ( important but in dbd not so much most times) ?
RARELY. VERY VERY VERY RARELY.
I've played dbd since jenuary 2017, and watched the game since 2016, where I was literally dying because I didn't have a pc to play dbd, and only because of this game I bought a 1000€ pc ( 250+€ for the monitor, keyboard and mouse and all the other stuff) . I remember when you would get stucked into a hook ,and never be able to get out of it. I passed all the era of lag switchers, where it was not fun at all, and after almost 5 years since 2016 and all my experience in dbd, including 6000/7000+ hours in game and twitch / youtube videos watched, the massive game changing era of bugs is finished people, and it finished in middle 2017, after the Bill release and the game engine update the game had.
Dbd still has bugs, sometimes, even GAME CHANGING, that's unalienable, but rarely, really. So the major dbd problem right now is not bugs of course, bug game's health, game's BALANCEMENT ( word that hurts a lot of people ( especially since dbd is not a competitive game ( for now, who knows in the future, I hope so)) because they do not understand that if a game is not almost balanced for both sides of a game there isn't any reason to play a certain game ) , and game's quality of life.
Tell that to my CloudIP bug where I can't get ANY bloodpoints.

Edit: spelling lol
Clown : On direct hit, slow down the survivor more.

@dugman said:
Just a minor point but Clown is actually fairly lethal since the Silent Hill patch buffed him. He's one of the best one-on-one chasers at this point, certainly more lethal than Legion who can't use Frenzy to get a down for instance. He definitely lacks mobility though.
But the top killers certainly do combine map mobility with something that helps them in a chase (Freddy, Spirit, Nurse, and even maybe Billy still since it looks like the nerf he got was considerably toned down before going live.) Everybody else is in this "good enough" category where they are good enough to win if you play well but are either hampered by map movement (e.g. Huntress, Deathslinger, Clown) or a lack of a way to chase people down efficiently (e.g. Legion, Demogorgon).
P.S. I'm not quite sure where Hag fits in here, I think Hag might be on the upper end of that "good enough" bucket because her traps effectively give her sort of a "virtual map movement" and quick chases. But her movement speed is slow enough that it takes her a little time to ramp up at the start of the match, so not quite top tier but a little above average?
I kinda agree actually

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/177230/sweat-squads-need-to-be-hard-to-defeat
There are ways you can nerf SWF sweat squads without nerfing everyone else.
For example, you could do stuff like, remove/nerf object of obsession. Randos aren't using OOO to constantly communicate where the killer is to the entire time, only SWF squads are. You can nerf looping, but then increase the number of pallets in the map, because sweat squads are hyper efficient and perfectly loop, but rando people don't, and in fact it would buff randos cuz there would be more pallets.
The reality is though, you need to balance a game at the highest level of play, or there is no point playing your game and improving. Not doing so will result in a game not having longevity. Why do you think DotA has been around for 15 years? Why do you think CS has been around for 20 years?
There are a variety of ways you can do this that make meaningful change. This video talks about how they did this with TF2 by nerfing things that were OP in high level play, but not in normal person play:
If a sweaty SWF group plays the game, don't pair them with the Clown who has no addons. I think that would be okay.

Can we talk about survs gettin nerf AGAIN? lightborn now makes imposible to blind and gives an aura for 10 minute of the surv, frankling not only makes the object dissapear now, it also shows an aura of the item to the killer, and dont even talk about billy cause chainsaw takes forever to overheat anyways, so that """"""nerf"""""" is bullshit. An yeah, those perks are situational, u can use better perks instead, blablablaaaaaaa... SAME WITH DS AND I KEEP READING KILLERS CRYING ABOUT IT, DONT TUNNEL, EASY, U MAKE ONE SURV PERK USELESS. It was really necessary? flashlights nerfed, toolboxes nerfed, all items nerfed in general with frankling now, what's next? gettin insta down if u use a med-kit on someone else? I KNOW I KNOW... Some survs are really annoying clicking all the time like #########, as a surv i dont approve that, also i dont tbag, but its a item that is there to use it. I'm not even goona talk about status effects in adons now and the auras in hooks or so, coz i read some killers saying that auras are a buff for survs and well... It's b*llshit up for everyone actually.
What about nerfing ######### Ebony memento mori so killers stop ######### everyones game using it at first hook, for example? Maybe force them to use it at last hook or just one surv at first hook...? What about do something against facecampers? I know, "it's a mechanic" yeah, also is genrush and once again, they keep crying about it. There u go, that doesn't matter coz killers are always the poor little ones gettin bullied, right? Bullsh*t. But hey... Make all the items an excuse for camping an object with frankling now or just taking off one of the most important resource for survs, make the flashlights useless with lightborn now, worth, it's to hard TO JUST FACE A ######### WALL RIGHT?
I used to have a neutral opinión coz i play both sides, but i can tell as a killer and as a surv that survs are not op, they keep gettin nerf once again and again and again instead. But hey, some killers facecamp, mori, tunnel or dc as soon they face a good surv player and it's totally fine.
And here's a main killer talking actually. Guys, if u cant handle survs, maybe you need to improve, try harder and do it better next time. I faced a lot of killers that actually made the game impossible to win no matter how many ds, borrow times, flashlights blabla you have, they just KNOW how to do their job and they dont even need to tunnel or camp, so it's not about survs beeing op and crying in reddit about it, maybe some killers just need to keep playing in orden to learn how to counter survs.
Playing both sides and in my opinión, killers definetly always get the favour from devs. It's a fact in my opinión, it's getting worse and worse. Come guys, u have tooons of op perks and adons to use, op killers to play and many ways to counter survs plays, don't be cry babys. (yeah i know survs cry aswell but its the killer who always get the favour)
That's all. I know i'll get tons of salty comments here, but... I don't really care, everyone can express itself.. But in my opinión... IT IS WHAT IT IS. Also sorry for my english, i tried my best :')
I really don't know what to say. Go watch the entitled survivor main video made by Yerv. I think you'll like it.
