  • Confirmed workaround from Reddit: Enable "Anonymous Mode" from the settings and it will work 100% of the time.

Don't ask me why and what does this option have to do with anything. (I can only imagine it must have something to do with server-side player data syncs)

The detectives at Reddit found out that none of his friends had this issue and the only commonality was that they had anonymous mode.

  • I'm suffering the same issue. Tried multiple times, different characters, tried empty and full load out before activating the challenge, tried powering through the trial anyway and got no credit. Perks do not randomize at all once match starts.

  • I just want to add I just took out the new RAM and tried; same issue. I have to say its definitely a DBD problem.

I was reluctant to pull out the new RAM until now because it only happens with DBD and it interrupts my workflow, but if DBD is causing me BSOD all the time I lose all my work progress anyway.

So here are the symptoms I experience with the latest DBD patch:

    1) Frequent EAC warnings at inconsitent times, forcing an immediate quit.

    2) Sometimes, i can play several minutes of a match without the warning. Very rarely, I can complete a full match.

    3) Rarely (twice so far), on start up DBD immediately fails, claiming a windows/system32 file is untrusted, which is BS, and I checked there's ntohign to update via Windows Update.

If I persist on retrying DBD over and over I will eventualy get hit with BSOD saying memory error.

  • These are overkill and just makes playing with friends unfun, especially if the friends in question are newbies who are starting together.

The issue with SWF has nothing to do with what you're debuffing but the information they have circumventing the need for aura perks. A realistic debuff would be to cap their perk slots at 3, but if they done that there would sure to be a riot. I jus tdon't see any realistic and at the same time reasonable solution to SWF.

  • My most humorous experience couple days ago was as you know survivors like to T-bag at the exit. I've gotten used to it and just stand and wait outside the exit not bothering to chase them. One of them got overly cocky walked to me, I M1'ed him, he backed up to the exit to continue his t-bagging, so I reeled him in and of course at this point he's in dying state so I hooked him :D

  • The fact they locked killer choices in the lobby IIRC was because they wanted to implement independent MMR for each killer, just that MMR was poorly received. So they are definitely acknowledging your concerns and trying to do something about it. Until then, yes, like others said, practice.

From my experience in getting Adept Killer achieves on all killers, the key to being decent enough to hold your own at a killer is to learn to be a good M1 killer. None of the killers are designed for you to spam their powers. Be a good M1 killer then bring your power into play whenever you know will actually help you.

  • Freddy and Doctor. They bring absolutely the most flavor to the game and really strike terror through the screen into the player behind the survivor. I enjoy Freddy and Doctor games the most on both sides.

You truly don't see how unreasonable that is, do you? You may as well cleanse them all - it doesn't take long, barely an extra generators worth of time. What does take ages is actually running around and finding them, which is the unreasonable part. The only way to mitigate that is to run a totem-finding perk... Which is an unreasonable ask, given that they exist only to counter NOED and nothing else, and you still waste a boatload of time actually running around. Time that could have been used finishing the generators, which is an actual task outside of SWF.

Running a perk to counter a perk is about as dumb as any game gets, and to be honest the only other scenario I can think of is Iron Will Vs Stridor - except IW is bugged and removes breathing sounds as well, which is why Stridor "counters" it, meaning that it isn't even comparable.

To paraphrase the great Hel, "Honey, you have no idea what's reasonable."

Let's see your options shall we?

    Killer runs NOED:

Option 1: Spend 2 minutes pre-EGC low pressure cleasning totems. This is assuming your'e soloing it.

Option 2: Lose 2 minutes during high stakes EGC while teammate(s) are insta-downed on their way to the Exit Gate, everybody panics not sure whether or not to save the hooked person.

Option 3: Don't spend 2 minutes pre-EGC to cleanse totems, but keep track of them as you happen across them. Spend 30-60s during EGC to ninja the correct EGC totem, unhook your teammate, take a proteciton hit and surprise the killer if he didn't notice he just lost NOED, both walk through the Exit Gate like a BAMF in style.

    Killer doesn't run NOED:

Some possible options for the slot:

    Option 1: Devour Hope

    • a) You like bones, so you clear them and on average find it on the 2.5th totem, taking about 1 minute on average and likely nothing happens. If you're willing to do bones, this is no different from dealing with NOED.
    • b) You don't like bones, so you don't cleanse them until 3rd hook DH triggers. Congrats, you will have to live with Exposed for the remainder of the trial and likely drag out your gen completion 2-3 minutes longer than usual, if you even get there. RIP.

Option 2: Delay perks such as Sloppy Butcher (as an example)

On average, survivors probably heal 6-8 health states per match, whether self heal (50% speed alone) or with help (100% speed but 2 people aren't doing anything) as the typical case. So let's count 32 seconds per health state, mangled increases that by 20%, so 6-8 x 6 seconds = 36-48 seconds. This is not counting any strategic issues from that additional time while the killer comes and find you, and the increased ease of tracking you due to bleeding. Most likely, you'll still come up with a net loss of 90-120 seconds worth of time.

    Option 3: Information perks

Anything to save the killer time from tracking such as Nurse's Calling, whispers, etc. Let's say it saves 10 seconds per search/chase and the killer initicates on average 12-15 chases per match, information perks can help the killer speed things up by easily over 2 minutes and apply pressure.

In the mean time, you have survivor teammates who are t-bagging and looping around for 2-3 minutes, and you say its unreasonable/there's no time?

Hun, if you just want to repetitively do the same thing over and over again and expect a win, there's AdventureQuest. Adapt, or play a different game.

So just magically, every time, find the newly-spawned Hex and cleanse it?

Look, the sad fact is that the only decent and consistent counterplay to NOED is to leave the poor survivor to die. That's it. Everything else is unreliable to the extreme, or so unfair to everyone that's not in a SWF it's laughable.

Yes. There's only 5 totems and they are always evenly spread out across the map. If you do them enough times you start noticing each set of 5 seems to be pre-arranged rather than pure RNG, that is they tend to follow a pattern. If one is hidden behind a bush, most tend to be be by a bush. If one is hidden in a fake locker on Midwich, 2-3 others are also in a fake locker.

You're supposed to keep track of any totems you come by pre-EGC during chases and what not even if you don't do them. Worst case scenario just do 3 escape and that's perfectly fine. You don't need 4 escapes to count as a win, likewise killers shouldn't define 4k's as wins.

  • @MadLordJack said:

Devour Hope is the perk holding back all other Hex perks.

NOED is the only hex perk in the game that requires you to cleanse 5 totems, except you get nothing for cleansing 4 of them.

This is a misconception and inaccurate. Pre-cleanse 5 totems if you want 0 seconds of NOED.

Or, wait until gens are powered, THEN cleanse the *newly* activated Hex totem in EGC if you can manage being exposed for 20 seconds.

NOED isn't "all the Dull totems". NOED is "one of the remaining Dull totems which becomes NOED."

  • @MadLordJack said:

But the console meta bled into the PC community and now everyone's stealthy all the damned time...

Sure if you call blendettes committed to crouching behind a tree even when the killer is looking directly at them stealthy. I usually stare at them for 2 seconds for a laugh before striking them anyway.

  • @ZCerebrate said:

Just curious but even when I play Killer there is never a single survivor that makes me feel like "this guy is toxic so I better face camp him" unless he is a blatant hacker (speed hacker + fake dead hard who still manages to get downed somehow). Yes there are hard games where it's multiple people who can loop well and use DS/Unbreakable/OoO but I still never feel the urge to face or even hover camp anyone unless both exits are open at end game with no idea where the other guys are.

More power to you guys though I guess on what is "toxic behavior" which is probably little more than someone tapping crouch, clicking flashlights or abusing something like Iron maiden locker screams?

It only ever happened to me once, and so I only ever did it once.

It was a Steve (Isn't it always a Steve? Maybe Dwight sometimes) who was extraordinarily obnoxious about his t-bagging.

Like, I have a sense of humor, I don't mind rubbing it in to each other now and then. However, whereas most T-baggers do a "one and a two and a three" t-bag such that its about 0.5 second intervals and they usually t-bag twice and move on, they also don't do it at every opportunity. However, this Steve, my god...

First of all, his T-bag is like a rapid-fire machinegun T-bag like 5 per second. He will literally T-bag at every single vault until I vault or turn around and approach. He would not move until the last second to really rub it in.

He will stun and keep T-bagging, he will flash light then keep t-bagging. He was completely asking for it.

So finally, I downed him. I hooked him. I face camp the hell out of him.

His friends come, I angle around to make sure I hit only Steve and not the unhooker, and count half a second to wait for the invincibility frame.

He's downed, his friend runs off.

I stood there staring at him and counted to 60, striking anyone who approaches without chasing them. I picked him up, hooked him again.

Second time, they got smarter and brought BT. I chased him down and downed him again. Once more, I counted to 60 before hooking him. At this point it was already EGC, so his allies bailed on him as he died on hook.

No one acts like she's unbeatable, we all will be able to win against her, even if it is 1 more time, but when you post clips of 59s that doesn't mean anything... that really doesn't prove anything.

And no one taking that content creator word as gospel, he is by far better than you and me, that means he has better arguments of this game, he plays this for a living.

You're telling me we shouldn't take experienced people opinion relevant?

k, if bill gates tells me how to succed and do a great bussines, i wouldn't take his opinion.

Are you seriously comparing an amateur streamer with 100k subs to Bill Gates now? This Scott fellow's monthly estimated earnings is about 4-5k based on influencer sites, that's little better than being a waiter while doing something you enjoy I suppose, hardly hold his opinion as authoratative territory.

Kids these days see some dude on a screen and think their opinion magically holds weight.

  • The "smart" cheaters are much more subtle and don't do it in your face like that. Couple weeks ago I was playing killer chasing a meg. I injured her first, and there's literally no pause and no time for her to heal. At one point she jumped off the temple and dived into the basement, i was like, "Really?" as I went after her she rushed out, fully healed - it didn't register in my head at first until after I struck her on her way back up the stairs.

No white glow (not MOM), no one suddenly became broken (not For the People). I was confused and pressed on the chase and eventually downed her.

I figured it was Anti-Haemorrhagic Syringe just not sure when she used it (she was in the basement less than 16 seconds) but during post game, it showed she only brought a green med-kit with additional charge add-ons.

My only conclusion was that she must've hacked the game, but subtle and not egregious enough that one can't be sure if its reportable.

  • Bad survivors don't plan for it. It breaks their routine and they just want an EZ game where they gen rush and t-bag at the exit and win, then whine about it on the forums how there's no time to do bones. Well its either losing 1-2 minutes in EGC when the stakes are high or losing 1-2 minutes when the pressure has not buitl up. Choose.

Experienced survivors clean totems and still finish gens and can still get 2-3 escapes consistently without SWF.

Pro survivors keep track of where the totems are, but don't cleanse them unless they need to (it is in fact a Hex totem or they're running Inner Strength.) As soon as the last gen is finished, they rush to the totems to find which one's the NOED and clean that one only, making the most efficient use of their time, unhook the first and only guy to ever get downed by NOED, and go for 4 escape.

A lot of survivors forget that NOED doesn't technically require you to clear ALL totems, it lights up one of the Dull totems during EGC. I've seen survivors still cleansing Dull Totems during active NOED which wasted precious time for her.

NOED is suboptimal for high mobility and high pressure killers, though, as well as most killers who can already insta down. (might have a usecase for billy without addons, but if you're running NOED as Myers you planned that wrong and should have 99'd your Evil Within II at the last gen)

Jeff Johansson since he's the character that resembles me the most then after him its cheryl.

So you're telling me you look like Cheryl when shaved? j/k

For me its Yui in x'mas sweater and Rift 3 Kate whenever it becomes available on the store (I started the game just as the rift ended). Rift 3 kate's hair is pretty cute and Yui's sweater best defines her perfect physique ironically even though it shows the least skin.

  • I recently finished every single Tome/Rift challenge. Not Impossible, but extremely frustrating. I would argue Tome 1 Lv 4's "Fight Back" is impossible in a normal game, though.

Thankfully, Tome IV has been pretty reasonable so far.

    2020-09-01.png

Tome 1 Lv 4's "Fight Back" requires FOUR stuns, not just any stuns, but PALLET stuns, in a SINGLE trial.

    2020-09-01 (2).png

I basically kept it active across dozens of games banging my head at it until I got lucky and matched with a farming killer.

Had it not been restricted to pallet stuns then yeah, sure, it would have been easy, DS/Headon and you might pull off 2 pallet stuns against an average killer. Unless you purposefully cheese it and derank yourself no competent killer is dumb enough to get pallet stunned 4 times in a single match by the same person even if you commit to it. This particular challenge was so bad I'd advice BHVR consider removing the *pallet* requirement for the sake of future players.

On the killer side, I agree EGC ones are the worst. It forces me to play the most toxic style that I don't enjoy, which is slugging but not too hard and let them finish gens while holding some slugged survivors hostage. Not doing that, EGC often lasts too short to accomplish anything. One of the EGC sacrifice challenges requires 2 or 3 in a single trial. I used Piggy for this to spread out my hooks and drag it on for better last gen/EGC management.

I sincerely hope BHVR will not add any more EGC sacrifice challenges.

4 basement sacrifice also felt really toxic and bullying even though I got lucky on my first try as facecamping Bubba against an SWF team. I don't believe game supported Archive/events should be promoting this type of playstyle.

  • @Chrisko said:

It's not holding the game hostage. As killer you can always open an exit gate and start the EGC. Problem solved.

That requires all gens to be completed. This situation only happens when its not.

  • The test you've designed isn't particularly useful, and not the least because newb stomp killers like Doctor (panicked newbs at his illusions), Legion (newbs running away after hit with frenzy when its impossible to be downed), Hag (newbs freaking out at every sight of the mud puppet even when hag is over 40m away), and Spirit (newbs thinking phase is as good as teleport) makes any measure below rank 10 irrelevant.

Rank up to 10 then do this 1 week test then okay, maaaaybe you can provide some useful data, but based on your rules you'd have only 28 trials with lots of matches thrown out, that's not exactly statistically significant to produce any reliable data. Statistical significance requires 100 trials but 50 may do for an informal test. 28 with thrown out trials is just way too few.

Also, ranking up is a lot harder as killer. Assuming you win every match, 28 only nets you 28 pips unless you get Merciless. Let's say 1/4 of your matches you manage Merciless (i'm being generous here), that's still 35 pips. It takes 14 pips from rank 20 to rank 16, 16 pips from rank 16 to rank 12, and the remainder 5 pips gets you to rank 11.

If you do this test starting at rank 10 as I recommended, 35 pips could get you to rank 3, but let's face it, you're not winning every match at those ranks, much less getting merciless.

  • @Erk

"You know the Spirit doesn't see scratch marks without the iridescent addon, right ? You don't know anything about this killer yet you come here to lecture us. Good job man. Good job.

What animation ? There is literally no animation ! What are you talking about lol."

Okay, now I know you never played spirit and have no idea what you're talking about.

Spirit sees scratch marks. It's legion that doesn't. There's no precision in hearing audio, you are playing up that aspect way too much. Re: Animation/fake phasing, read her power and add-ons.

  • Kindred > Empathy > Bond for me. I primarily solo queue.

Kindred: Precise information where the killer is going, whether or not he's camping, and avoid dogpiling the hook which happens all too often when Solo-ing. It mitigates most of the worst issues with solo queue.

Empathy: Virtually map-wide information when you need it. If they're faraway and healthy, then I don't really care. If they're injured and running I can tell whether they're winning loops and just focus on gens, or whether I should be ready to respond, or what gens i should be working on next. Bond can't do any of these things.

Bond: I don't like this due to its limited range. It seems only useful for co-op gens. If the killer is that close I can just look for the killer myself. If the teammate is that close the only situation where this information is useful is if I need healing. I see that a lot of people seem to prefer Bond, maybe they're running Up-In-Your-Face builds to melee the killer? Even then I'm not entirely sure what benefit bond brings that others don't unless you're going for the protection hit, but Empathy covers protection hits needs to escort.

  • I've had that happen to me once. I don't remember which killer I was but definitely not a mobility/ranged one. It was the Silent Hills map with 3gens remaining and 2 survivors left, so can't even do hatch hunting.

Being survivor main it's fairly easy to stealth away and avoid interacting with the killer if you're commited to it between heartbeat and spinechills or premonition if you have it. The DS/UB/DH "meta" promotes the kind of in-your-face strategies against the killer that has largely skewed people's understanding of stealth play in DBD.

I'm in favor of some kind of Entity pressure if no gens progress are made for too long. Maybe model it after the crow mechanic somehow?

  • I've only gotten stuck as killer once, but was easy to get out of quickly. So easy I don't even remember which killer i was playing or how i got out.

Half the time the killer wouldn't knwo if they accidentally got in, so its hard to enforce even if you want to punish the killer for gaining advantage over it. Also, I've had cases where the survivor gets stuck on the same hill not once, not twice, but thrice. I'm like, ok, if you're gonna be an idiot about it I'm just going to ignore you. I'm not gonna waste 2 minutes to pick you up and let you stand for all of those times. I don't feel the killer should be punished for survivor idiocy, and there's little excuse now that the hill/rock glitch is pretty well known.

I've seen some survivors pretend to be stuck, circling in place adjacent to the actual stuck spot. When I approach them they sprint off. That I feel like is an abuse, but I didn't report that because I ended up catching the person and sacrificing them anyway.

If survivors are deliberately abusing killer's goodwill and baiting them to get stuck, that is absolutely a mech abuse and poor sportsmanship.

  • As much as I like being critical of console players, I have not seen them use mori's any more than PC use mori's.

  • I use For the People exclusively for pickups in situations like this. I don't really see the point in trading injured states, but dropping from full to pick up a dying? Worth it.

  • Eh.. i'm not sure consoler players can reliably tell who's on what platform. PC players on the other hand can have 90+% confidence since i'm not sure there's still windows store players so for PC its either globe = console or no globe = PC.

As a PC player I have yet to meet a globe player to goof around in game. When I play killer even when I'm trying to give the hatch/exit to the console survivor they're always immediately sprinting off, whereas PC players pick up the cues fairly quickly. So my expereince does not line up with OP's.

  • I want to comment that personally I use "For the People" to instant runby pickup someone in a dying state. Using it against an injured person seems like a waste unless I know for a fact the killer would hit them and not me.

  • I generally go out of my way to not camp (also for the sake of Chaser emblem) but if I do camp/tunnel its to ensure I get rid of one of hte following players:

    • T-bagger. While I have a sense of humor this applies to those who are obnoxious about it (rapid t-bagging at every single opportunity)
    • A survivor I know who's good at looping/wasting my time. This is not the guy you want to be alive when its down to the last 2 survivors.
    • Someone with DS/Unbreakable for the same reason as above; that's you.

You complain that the killer is making it unfun for you. Have you considered the DS/UB/DH/BT combo is designed to literally make any interactions with the killer miserable for them?

When you're the 4th survivor "admit defeat"? Why? The game is not over. Why are you entitled to survive as the last survivor?

You claim to be a killer main yet I as a survivor main don't feel entitled to survive as you do and make it a point to understand the killer's side. Don't want to get caught by the killer? Run Kindred and/or Spine Chills so you don't get involved in a chase to begin with. Not good at positional awareness at long distances? Run Lightweight to limit your scratchmarks. Don't want to get caught by the killer at the end game? Don't run to the most obvious exit the Killer will be beelining for. You claim to be a killer main, that should be easy for you to predict.

  • Reds have an ego problem and somehow feel the need to rub it in everyone's face to stroke their e-peen. Just in another thread today someone accused me of being inexperienced to have a valid point in the thread, and I explained I'm rank 5 and have 400 hrs in the game. His retort that he's a top 30 rank 1 and that he knows people who's rank 1 at 50 hrs so i must suck and therefore my opinion is still invalid.

Sometimes I wish Reds get auto muted from forums and post chat.

'm a rank 5 survivor with 400 hours under my belt. Cleasning all totems is literally how you delete the 4th perk from a NOED user. Analyzing which perks your opponent is running is litearlly part of the game. If you think the survivor game play is just gen rush = win then you're the one who's not learning the game.

I'm a rank 1 facecamping Bubba main with 1600 hours who does this all the time, top 30 on the dbd leaderboards for downs with Bubba's chainsaw. I define only 4ks as wins because I 4k more than 90% of my games, even facecamping, if my win goal was any less I'd literally win every game. I don't define a survivor win as a 4 man escape as 4 man escapes are more infrequent for me and it's extremely easy for a camping killer to deny one. You literally do not have the time to cleanse 5 totems without giving Bubba a guaranteed easy 4k, hell, even if he didn't have NOED, the gens just don't go fast enough to get any escapes if he gets his first down in 30 seconds, and that's if you touch 0 totems.

This is a brown and yellow rank problem and occassionally green.

By the way you use rank as a measure of skill, and the fact you only have 400 hours (and you state you're rank 5 like it's even a remote achievement??? I've seen people with 50h in rank 1) - I'm gonna guess you're a bad/inexperienced player who has no idea what he's talking about here.

You're assuming that your'e soloing totems. If only one person on the entire team is looking for totems, that's a problem with the team. Even with randoms at mid-high ranks.

Also in regards to the above, doesn't matter how many people are looking for totems, 14x5 is still 70 seconds (nearly an entire generator! which don't go fast enough to beat bubba anyway in most cases) - and map traversal is still a thing, even if you can be a bit more efficient if on comms (if you think you can reliably cleanse all 5 totems most games outside of a 4 man, either the killer was total dogshit or you're trolling)

Okay, good for you? All you've proven is that you're an exceptional person at Bubba, so? Most of your post hasn't provided any useful information to the discussion other than bragging.

If games are balanced towards top players of every character the game ceases to be enjoyable to the majority of players. An exceptionally good player who mains at X will always exist. My skeptism against your claim absent messed up MMR and getting lucky with survivor spawn locations notwithstanding.

Your logic is basically saying "Steve Hawkins is an exceptional physicist. This is unfair to other industries that didn't produce exceptional people. We should nerf all physics programs and ruin the lives of the rest of the physicists so that Steve Hawkins can only be as good as other industry experts in their field." or "All physicists must be measured against Steve Hawkins as standard or they're trash and deserve to have their opinions be belittled by me."

  • Depends on the crowd. I find 99% console players make your life miserable when you nod at them and always sprint off. 80% PC players will point or nod or t-bag back and goof around a bit.

you actually can't even afford 20 seconds, nevermind the 70 it'd take to cleanse all 5 totems and the 10s more it'd take to find them all. Someone just trying to unhook themselves once massively ######### their team and can give you the win right there. If you think you can or should cleanse 5 totems vs a facecamping Bubba, you are either trolling or have virtually no experience in playing as or against this

Also, acknowledge that not everygame is going to be a 4 escape. Likewise, killers should understnad not everygame should be 4k. If you define a "win" as not a single death DBD is not the right game for you.

  • I literally see nothing wrong with 2k. In 100 matches if it averages out to 2k I'd say its a perfectly balanced game.

Also, the coutner to NOED is to clear totems, not gen rush. You can afford the 20 seconds.

Yes, Kindred is a legitimate resposne to camping. Anytime you run a full match with no one running Kindred or some other killer tracking perk it's your fault. The game isn't about everyone running DS/UB/BT/DH to make any kind of interaction miserable.

  • The last time i played as survivor against a nurse on Silent Hill map the nurse absolutely raped us and he wasn't even using the add-on that shows where you blink to. It just takes practice. I've used the blink location add-on on several multi-floor maps and if you know where you're going you can get to where you want fine (maybe except some haddonfield housees where the gen is at a narrow corridor).

The nurse that was dominating us on Silent Hill ran Shadowborn, BBQ, Surveillance, Whispers. He had no plans to scout around and was clearly confident in his precision blinking.

Basically telling me that "if I don't like being excluded maybe I should start to learn, read a book or something" is the same as telling me I'm uneducated. I live in germany so education is used ALOT as an insult.

This is really soundling like a problem between you and your friends, not a problem with online games.

  • You used the term "uneducated" multiple times already. It's extremely rare to hear someone use that insult especially in online games. I've played games with actual 12 year olds and seen people get in verbal fights with 12 year olds and I never hear people use "uneducated" as the choice of insult. If people are calling you "uneducated", you might want to look into addressing the issue?

Also, if you're jobless and willing to shell out 100 bucks a month on a game I don't think you have your priorities right. I'm saying this as someone who already bought all DLCs for DBD.

  • My rule is "Aura" / "Exhaustion" / "Stealth" / DS | Spine Chills

Having information on where the killer is is just too important unless you're deliberately running into his face to loop him. IMO the best aura perks are Kindred and Empathy. Empathy seems like a "healer" perk until you realize being able to see someone injured running around gives you near-precise information where the killer is. Also due to predicting where the killer is, I've gotten very good at surgical rescues that BT is pretty much irrelevant to me.

For "Exhaustion" my favorite is between Sprint Burst and Dead Hard. I use Spritn Burst when I feel like a more relaxing game and walk most of the game so i can use it on demand. I sometimes will use Lithe if I slotted Dance with Me for the "Stealth" perk to quickly end chases.

"Stealth" I like Iron Will / DwM for mobility build or Lightweight for a middle ground playstyle. Poised if I want to avoid confrontation altogether.

While I like DS it doesn't come up frequently enough for me to love it. Spine Chills pretty much eliminates getting caught by the stealthier killers and a huge early warning that you don't have to get hooked in the first place.

  • Personally i'd like to see her eye shadows reduced. In close up it doesn't look too bad, but in the lobby or in the game it looks way too exagerrated probably because of reduced resolution.

    cool cool

Some aura/information are only available to killers and some aura/information are only available to survivors. I've only stated possible bias for what parts I believe could be because it's based on information I wouldn't know from playing survivor.

The globe can also mean its windows or mac or whatever it was.

Also just because they controls are less precise (which doesnt impact DbD btw) doesnt mean the players arent as good as PC.

Also i got some of the Adept Trophys like the clown too because of crossplay, and since they had names, which would be impossible for switch or xbox, i assume they were PC players aswell. It was ultra easy. Does that mean they are worse? No!

DBD does not exist on the Mac.

I'm not sure if the globe icon shows up up for Windows Store anymore, but in my 300 hours of DBD prior to crossplay i've never seen the globe icon until console crossplay is enabled. It's also fairly obvious who's a console player by their camera controls and how they move around. Lastely, console players can't/don't chat post-game.

Lastly, you seem to be insinuating I'm making baseless stereotype assessments without actually playing against them and checking pre/post game who's who, when I'm using empirical evidence.

  • @Demonl3y said:

You say you wasnt able to get the adept trophys on PC but then call Console players bad..

What does this make you? Grow up.

Wow, touchy. Grow a bit of skin would you? It's a known fact that most games consoel controls are imprecise and more challenging than PC hence all the aim assist and what not they receive.

Aside from that, console players are a lot less altruistic comapred to PC is a fair observation.

    @Demonl3y said:

Btw you cant even know with which plattform you are playing. But yea keep saying Console players are bad to feel yourself better, besides the fact you couldnt get your trophys without console players.

Every plattform has good AND bad players, its not just one.

You can see it both in Pre and Post-game lobby by the "Globe" crossplay icon.

I never claimed to be a killer main, and considering I got all the killer achieves in a single week which encompasses nearly the entirety of my career as a killer player, yeah, I'd say that's not bad.

  • If you're running Windows 10 just hit Windows+G to open up the XBox game overlay and hit the record button.

  • Competent teammates are in green-purple range. Reds are toxic farming ######### who will point-blank unhook you for BPs then leave you to die, or heal you in front of killer and leave you to die. Never trust a red.

  • The game isn't designed to support VC for a reason and the SWF group has to be completely newb gallore to lose against a killer as is.

DBD's most important resource is auras/information and voicechat completely circumvents that, so no I don't see this happening.

I mean... I get what you're saying but... That would discriminate PC players and the "fix" to queue times would only work for consoles... I think this was a feature added to bring the comunity together, not to split them. I know you're having a bad time, but remember this is DBD, and add to that fact the variable of "learning curve".

Lots of people are having way too different experiences, I see both sides everywhere "PC players are wrecking console players" vs "Console players are wrecking PC players". For example, I'm on the other side, I've been haviing easier games when going vs PC players (both roles)

While I agree with you in theory, Crossplay hurts the PC community for the following reasons:

    1) No one chats in pre-game nor post-game anymore. While it's true red ranks tend to be toxic edgelords, outside of that most pre/post chat has been pretty civil. Its nice to pre-plan or show appreciation/credit in post.

    2) Console and PC is really a wholly different crowd. Console players tend to be a lot less altruistic and enjoy t-bagging. Whereas PC I would say over half the time if the game was clearly botched (for example, 2 DC's/early give up) the killer would usually play nice with the remaining players instead of griefing them.

    3) Console survivors are very.. bad.

Just today I played a level 15 ghost face against 4 crossplay survivors for my 2nd game and all I'm trying to do is get my 5 hit against exposed Archives. I kept releasing them for them to cue them that I'm just doing archives, but they keep sprinting away try harding and pallet dropping all match. After they finished 3 gens I got fed up trying to drop them to do my archives and go after them for real. I still got my 5 exposed hits in a single match and ended up with 4k Merciless Killer before they completed the 4th gen. 2 of their guys died after only 1 hook because they are way too timid on rescues. This means the PC survivor has to always carry them.

  • As a PC player my experience has been terrible.

Right now it seems guaranteed at 2-3 players will be from console.

I'm very unhappy with both Console survivors and Console killers. I'm sure there's multitude of reasons from different control schemes to different crowd, but the best way to sum it up is "Console suck."

    • In nearly all my matches today there's at least a DC near the start of the game. At post game lo and behold, it was a console gamer.
    • Console survivors don't seem to value team work, I've been on hooks watching them healing or doing gens when the path was completely clear.
    • They don't seem to clear totems for some reason.
    • Console killers seem very bad or disadvantaged against PC survivors. I've never seen more than 5% missed attacks when the killer's red aura has caught up to me. Today, that happens 30-50% of the time while the killer was chasing me.
    • Console killers seem to like to tunnel, not that they are good at it. I've literaly every match where I've LAPED THE ENTIRE MAP 2-3 times and MAXED OUT 8000 pts BOLDNESS (one match even hit Chased MAX before my first hook) simply because the killer kept melee missing me. Post game? Yep, console player.

I strongly recommend Cross-play to be de-prioritized in match making and only enabled to fill the slot if no one else is available. Priority should be keeping homogenity to a single platform (with exception for SWF).

Currently, it seems the game is trying to encourage a 40/60 split. I don't think this is an enjoyable experience for either side.We really should only be seeing 40/60 mixes during late nights/odd hours.

Also, purple team wipe against a green rank killer. We had 3 console survivors. Despite my 11k pts 8k of it was from maxed out boldness from looping the killer. They never got rid of Ruin; I had to do it when it was down to 2 survivors.

EDIT: Fixed typo. I meant console survivors and console killers*. (Previously wrote console players)

  • Just happened again at Autohaven between the schoolbus and the shed/basement. It seems like hills with that template has that specific corner bugged since the patch? Pretty sure I've never experienced this on hills before.

  • >However, I'll agree with the killer mains on one thing. If the wraith is camping that hatch, it sucks to suck just go to the exit gate and open that.

This doesn't work if the exit gates aren't yet powered, and once you're the last survivor its highly unlikely you can pull that off even if you manage to set up the last 3 gens to be farthest possible apart because you won't see wraith's ripple until its too close. Jungle gyming the wraith as the lone survivor is not a recipe for gen completion.

    >Your fault for not opening the exit gates or completing all generators lmao.

Its an assymetric game where the survivor side relies on their teammates. The final survivor is not at fault when the other 3 dies for one reason or another. It shouldn't be relevant but the new MMR with random mix of survivor ranking certainly hasn't been helping.

I think you receive the broken status from For the People before Second Wind gets a chance to activate.

That's irrelevant. Second Wind won't kick in until you're hooked then unhooked anyway. Before that even becomes relevant Second Wind requires 100% heal state credit in order to "activate" (but not heal you). I'm talking about building up the healing credits to activate Second Wind in the first place, BEFORE getting hooked.
