But what about the free mega safe pallet that if you break it gives them time to get to a new really safe pallet? TBH i wouldnt are about dh if there werent so many safe loops everywhere. On hawkins i have no issue with deadhard because if you deadhard to a pallet its typically an unsafe pallet and possible to play arouns without you getting to a new pallet
Yeah; that’s less easy to counter. Blood Echo?
This part of the perk was obviously intended though and isn’t “abusing” anything, annoying as it may be, otherwise the perk wouldn’t have the dash at all. Just like old Iri Belt wasn’t “abuse” of anything, DH isn’t either.
-
I just try to get chased by the killer, lead them around as much of the map as possible, then make a mental note of where it is when I inevitably find it. Then go get it once I’m unhooked and the killer is on someone else!
-
@PabloLovesMC said:
So if iridescent head +infantry belt was 'abusing' the addons then how is dead hard for distance not abusing the perk? Thats not what its meant for and killers dont have perks where they get hits where they shouldnt so why can survivors make it so they dont get hit when they deserve to?
“Killers don’t have perks where they get hits where they shouldn’t”
Coup De Grace? Basically an anti-Dead Hard. Spirit Fury also allows hits you otherwise wouldn’t get. There are insta-down perks that skip one hit entirely. Save The Best For Last has given me many hits I wouldn’t have got otherwise.
The “dodging a hit” part of Dead Hard is by far the weaker part of the perk, and the easiest thing in the world to counter if you a) expect it on every injured survivor, and b) have patience and wait for it before you lunge. You just need to work on not swinging/lunging too early.
-
He’s good. Not too weak anymore and not too strong in my opinion. Once people start to play as/against him more they’ll start to do better against him, I think people are just used to the old, bully-able Wraith and underestimate the stuff he can do now.
Maybe one or two of his add ons could be looked at but his base kit is in a good place.

This Killer is really unfair to play against. I am a Killer main and I actually main The Nurse. A Killer with a high skill ceiling.
The Blight's skill ceiling is (in my opinion) incredibly over valued. On PC with consistent FPS and a high DPI mouse, you can even exploit The Blight's movement in such way to get hits that shouldn't ever be possible (this is in relation to the J-flick exploit).
His power perfectly benefits from the Killer META, specifically with the three perks: Ruin, Undying and Tinkerer. His power barely has a cool down and if you pair it with add-ons, it gets even worse and more unfairly oppressive.
He is so accessible to play when you take into account that most Blight players (who haven't even mastered him) can utilise the overpowered synergy that this Killer has with the META Killer perks. The Nurse has this same synergy but I know that it isn't as oppressive since at the very least, you have to be skilled to land downs as The Nurse while as The Blight, you can resort to being a generic 115% movement speed Killer on certain tiles (in the most unideal situation) and still just use the power for the ridiculous mobility.
Overall, I just want this Killer and his add-ons to be toned down. Not changed, just toned down. BeHaviour are already going to address the J-flick exploit which is good and they should be doing that. However, they need to continue a fair bit and increase The Blight's charge cool down and punish players for exploiting his mobility mindlessly.
Just my two cents. Every opinion is valid but I am a rank 1 Survivor and Killer player of 4 years. Just remember that.
Thank you,
- Stygian Rakshasa
Please, no. He’s fun to play and fun to verse, I’d rather they focus on any other killer. Or, better yet, look at the Ruin/Undying/Tinkerer combo if that’s the problem.

They made levels easier to get, and it remains to be seen how many shards you'll get with each tier. But i noticed that most of the challenges now require multiple games in order to complete them. Whereas many of them would often be able to be done in just 1 game.
- Hit 8 different survivors with your weapon
- Hook 6 different survivors
- Hook your obsession 4 times. (unless using perks)
- Sacrifice 6 survivors
I suspect they made later tiers much harder to complete.
It doesn’t seem that much different to me, at least in level 1. Most of the challenges that don’t have to be done in a single match will take a couple, like the “break X pallets/gens” or “cleanse X totems” challenges that have been in many previous Tomes. And there are still the single match challenges.
I’m more concerned about some of the killer challenges in later levels. “Hit at least 2 survivors with a single discharge of Corrupt Purge, twice in one match” - gonna be a lot of camping Plagues when that one goes live, lol.

WGLF is probably the one I run the most because I’m a bloodpoint pauper.

Yeah, same. Baiting out flashlight saves and getting three people slugged in a pile because they couldn’t contain their greed is always funny.

How is the new progress for the rift? Less grind feeling at all? I havent gotten to check into it yet but was wondering
It feels a bit better, I’ve played a few matches and feel like I’m making more progress than usual. Would be nice if the free track didn’t start out so empty, but hey. :D
-
It’s reasonably good on Lery’s or Midwich. It’s basically a stalling perk on those maps, even against a coordinated SWF they’ll struggle to find each other as efficiently as if they could just see each other.
On outdoor maps with clear landmarks and decent visibility it’s pretty rubbish though. And it’s totally outclassed by many other perks so it’s not worth running unless you’re going for some kind of themed build.

There's just so many ways for survivors to mess with the killer. The entire game as the killer you just feel like you're chasing a stupid carrot on a stick dangling infront of your head but you know you're never gonna get that carrot and that carrot is getting all the entertainment in the world
It's like the entire game is designed with the torturing of the killer in mind. The killer is just the plaything for 4 survivors who have ZERO fear of the killer whatsoever. That's the game at red ranks
The killer should never have survivors WILLINGLY run at him, that's a joke
The power dynamic is completely reversed past rank 5 honestly
No wonder survivor queue times are so long and all the red rank survivors constantly get matched up against purple and higher rank killers. It's because all or most of the red rank killers stop playing because IT'S. NOT. FUN.
A survivor running at you is bait. They have something up their sleeve that makes them feel confident about running at you. When you’re newer to killer you won’t know what to expect and you’ll fall for the bait pretty much every time, but with experience you learn to tell what the survivor expects you to do vs what you SHOULD do to call their bluff.
Unfortunately the game ranks new players up way too fast so you get killers with 50 hours at rank 2, falling for obvious bait and then complaining that the game is too hard for killers. The game can absolutely be hard sometimes, but most of the survivors you’re complaining about will get demolished by a killer who knows what they’re doing. You either learn how to be that killer, or you give up. No shame in giving up if you’re not having fun, it’s a game and not a job.
I guess what I’m saying is that the game is fun for killers who are in the rank they should be in. Killers who are in ranks they shouldn’t be are the ones that suffer. Unfortunately, the ranking system in this game is a joke so it’s not really your fault.

last game I was playing trickster and got infinite by an L T wall because trickster is too weak
You know you can throw knives through the windows, right? Use your power. If you can’t hit your knives for some reason you can still mindgame as a 110% killer, it’s not ideal but L/T walls are one of the most fair tiles, they’re far from an infinite.
I mean this as respectfully as possible, but you really need to work on your killer gameplay before you externalise blame for your losses on other things.

Oh man, watching him try to mindgame such a safe loop while respecting the pallet even when the survivor was nowhere near it... and then the SWF cope at the end. Painful.
-
I’ve played it twice as survivor and it still felt brain dead easy to me. They added some weaker pallets and a breakable wall to the building, so it’s not as strong, but I’ll still be happy when I get it as survivor and annoyed when I get it as killer I think.
-
They seem to be working fine now, I was able to get stuns when I should have and got hit when I greeded in my games earlier.

No, sadly, no pirates in RE... for now!
Seriously though, somebody pointed out it looks like the old RE3 cover art(the number) and, yeah, it really does imo.

Oooh, yeah that definitely looks close. Good spot!

Looks more like a hook to me, like a pirate hook hand. Not sure if RE has any hook-wielding killers, I’m not terribly familiar with that series besides playing the first one back on the PS1. :D

I don't know what it is about him. I can work with any other killers power. I can 4K with Trapper at least 60% of the time in reds, but no matter what, I can't ever do shot with this killer. Maybe I'm not perk synergiesing, maybe it's something about his undetectable being uselessly stupid because you can hear his footsteps 30 feet away, idk. I know someone likes him and gets results, but he's hardly ever mentioned amongst worst killers, and I just don't get why?
Do you use his Shred to zone and deal with long loops and sight lines? You need to use his Shred often because it’s a valuable part of his kit and helps a lot with chases. Play a few matches with no add ons, not expecting to win, and practice his Shred in every single chase until you have it down, and you’ll start to have a lot more success with him.
-
It definitely feels different to me too. I play survivor with a controller and the movement feels waaaay better, I’m not even sure what it is but it feels much more smooth and responsive.
So it’s not just you, and if you are crazy at least you’re not alone in it ;)

Is this a bad thing for killers?
Yes and no. You won’t be able to rule out DS being in play, so back to back hooks could be riskier. But there’s less incentive for survivors to run DS for the sake of having an Obsession now, so it might be less common anyway.

You'd have to go down incredibly quickly and also be unhooked instantly in order to get use out of it to avoid getting tunneled.
For that part I was thinking of instadown killers. So length of chase is irrelevant since you won’t be injured until you go down.
-
@Boss said:
Here we go, the 10+ discussions on the same thing.
Don’t bump them and they’ll fall off the first page quickly. It’s the same with every new patch.
-
Seems like it will still be good for losing your first chase, or avoiding getting tunnelled off first hook. I’ll definitely give it a test, it’s a fun perk concept and I won’t feel gross running it now.
-
They’re all fine IMO.
Tinkerer is a good perk that’s useful on several killers and in quite a few builds. The buff was good.
Enduring is a good perk that fulfils its role well. It’s not the best perk in the game but it’s not weak either, it has a useful function.
Lightborn is just like Enduring, fits a niche and does what it’s intended to do well. I don’t run it personally but I see others run it.
-
I’m excited to play survivor this patch, I hope there’s a fix for pallet stuns and my survivor games will be more enjoyable.
Not sure about killer. I play a lot of M1 killers so I’m apprehensive about Lucky Break.
-
Billy was more fun when you could go for ambitious chainsaws a lot and try to get curves and chainsaw mindgames. Now with the overheat you’re punished for trying to use your power too much, which means you’re essentially forced to try once or twice and then just M1.
I wasn’t opposed to the heat mechanic when they first introduced it, but I’ve changed my mind over time. It was a bad decision IMO because it’s anti-fun.
-
I never really use add ons on Freddy since his base kit is so good, so that doesn’t bother me too much. Might even be useful if the Lucky Break buff goes through.
I’m more baffled that they decided to nerf dream pallets tbh. Just why?
-
Yeah, going from struggling to hit 30 FPS on PS4 to getting a fairly consistent 120 FPS on PC makes it feel like a different game. Plus being able to adjust the crispness and brightness of the game a bit is nice. Game is unplayable for me on console now.
-
Object is great in solo if you know how to use it and can run killers well. Pair it with Sprint Burst and it’s disgusting. It’s even more busted in SWF since you can share your info with your team. If your solo teammates are bad it won’t save you, but no perk will do that.
-
I don’t think it will go live, personally. Weaker perks have been held back in the past so I’ll be disappointed if this one goes through.
-
That unbalanced stuff takes so long to be balanced.
Maps can be completely hated by one half of the community to the point that they’ll incur DC bans just to avoid playing on them, but they stay in the game, unchanged, for years. Add ons that cause survivors to immediately give up on the match in the first 30 seconds stay in the game for years. Perks can be absolute garbage tier and then after like 2 years of being garbage, they’ll be “buffed” by having their cooldown reduced by 3 seconds, and remain garbage tier.
Truly unfun and unbalanced things are left as-is by the devs for a long time, so then the player base blames each other for running them. (“You’re scummy for running DS/Unbreakable!” “You’re scummy for running forever Freddy!”) Which of course just makes player toxicity worse. And the meta never changes.
I think this aspect of the game is improving, they’ve changed a lot of the more pressing issues in the last year. But there’s still so much stuff that would improve the game if it were fixed (bad perks, tons of bugs, solo/SWF disparity, unbalanced maps, etc. etc. etc.).
-
Oni is a roaring beast that charges around the map, screaming and bonking people. His power is achieved through normal gameplay so you don’t really have to do anything that disrupts your flow.
Plague pukes on survivors (gross), has to wait for them to allow her access to her power (boring), and then just walks around after them at normal speed. She has to go and collect her secondary power which annoying, her puke is unintuitive and difficult to control, and it’s just a different variant of puke so it’s still gross.
I don’t think Plague is that bad or anything but she just doesn’t feel as fun to play.
-
I agree that ranks need a serious overhaul. Some of the teammates I get at red ranks are beyond a joke. Going down in 5 seconds, walking everywhere, getting into lockers for no reason, aggressively avoiding even touching a gen for a second. I have teammates try to heal me when the killer has 3 stacks of Devour, or close Demo portals next to completed gens, or stand in the open having a staring contest with a Myers. These people should not in a million years be in the highest rank it is possible to get in the game, and the ranking system does absolutely nothing to prevent it.
-
Yes. They’re pretty visible and can’t be faked so it’s a guarantee someone is there.
Even on indoor maps where you can’t really rely on them for tracking from a distance, if I hear a crow get disturbed in a room next to me I know a survivor is creeping nearby.
-
I wouldn’t make it useable twice, that would probably be a bit too much.
The only change I would make would be to remove the skillcheck so that newer players (who are more likely to deal with straight up tunnelling) and people on systems that suffer from frame drops, input lag, etc. can still use it for its intended purpose. Not sure why it needs a skill check now that it’s a more balanced perk.
-

But no one complained back then that it wasn't good at protecting someone being tunneled off the hook.
They did, actually. People have complained about this aspect of the perk for a while, but it was a strong enough perk that very few people really wanted to buff it in any way.

@Mineguy said:
More killers play the game, means more people buy skins and dlc killers
Survivors can actually play in the evening and don't have to wait 10 minutes for 1 game. Survivors more playing game = there is a higher chance they buy other suvivors and skins.
So it's a win win for the players and the devs. Just Balance the game and everyone has a better day :D
If you over-balance in favour of killers then survivors will get frustrated and quit, more people will play killer, and the 4:1 player base ratio will become very skewed making killer queues extremely long.
It’s not as easy as “just balance the game, duh”. Even small changes can have huge effects on the game and therefore the player base. The devs have to account for both sides at all skill levels when making changes, if they want the game to thrive.
-
Back when I was a baby killer, I mained Hag because I didn’t know the maps or how to run tiles lmao. Being able to spam traps and get teleport hits made killer enjoyable enough that I stuck with it long enough to learn how to chase properly. I hated feeling powerless as other killers, stuck chasing survivors who were so much better than me and feeling like I could never catch them.
I don’t main anyone now, I play basically every killer and enjoy all of them. I always feel like I SHOULD main someone, play them a ton and get really good with them, but I enjoy the variety.
-
Because lockers already have the built in risk of putting a survivor straight into the dying state. They can be useful to hide in or proc a handful of perks, but if the killer sees or hears you, or even just correctly guesses that you’re there, you go straight on the hook in an extremely short amount of time.
Making them both potentially dangerous and also reducing visibility would make them useless. Nobody would bother with lockers and they would become obsolete. Which I guess is the point of you suggesting this change, you don’t like lockers and don’t want survivors to use them. Well, too bad. Lockers are balanced.

In public queue it doesn't really mean much. Scott Jund had a 50 win streak with speed limiter old Bubba. If I play during certain hours then 9 out of 10 teams I can just 4k on autopilot, because that's just the nature of matchmaking. But during other hours when there are few red rank killers online, then I get survivors with thousands of hours each and I'd take Billy over Plague any day of the week.
On it’s own a win streak means little, I agree. But he tried win streaks using all the killers so I assume he’s using his experience of each one to inform where he placed them.

I agree. I can maybe count on one hand the times I overheat when not running engravings. The overheat angle is a little overplayed in the community, despite being a questionable change. But I never ran instasaw or crackbilly back in the days. So, I wasn't as affected by the nerfs.
Except his camera. That's absolutely atrocious.
But putting him below Plague is preposterous. I understand Otz had some success in Hexy's tournament when playing off-meta killers and this might sway his judgement.
He also had a 100 game win streak with Plague I think. I don’t personally agree with her placement but I can see why he rates her highly.

Stuns still work if you stand on one side of a pallet and eat a hit and make them be right in the middle of the pallet then you drop it. I get stunned plenty as killer despite the bug. And get hits through pallets, but get stunned after. Should still count for you.
You’re really unlucky. I’m surprised if I get stunned more than once or twice per match at the moment, and I do not respect pallets. I stopped running Enduring because it feels like a wasted slot.
-
Nvidia filters are directly supported by the game, so it’s almost certainly not bannable.

Stand at a pallet and eat a hit. Drop pallet 🤷
Doesn’t work reliably in the current patch, unfortunately. You can throw a pallet down straight on a killer’s head and it ineffectually slides off them like it’s made of butter more often than not.
-
I agree. Compared to something like Overwatch, DBD barely seems toxic at all. Nobody has even threatened to find me in real life and do violent things to me, I mean... tame.
People do send messages/leave profile comments more in my experience, but even then they’re usually more funny than anything.
-
I see tons of Huntresses and Nurses. A few Onis, Blights and Deathslingers. Most other killers are fairly rare. I see some Tricksters and Wraiths lately for obvious reasons but I expect that to die down.
