BHVR got sneaky with the tome challenges.
They made levels easier to get, and it remains to be seen how many shards you'll get with each tier. But i noticed that most of the challenges now require multiple games in order to complete them. Whereas many of them would often be able to be done in just 1 game.
- Hit 8 different survivors with your weapon
- Hook 6 different survivors
- Hook your obsession 4 times. (unless using perks)
- Sacrifice 6 survivors
I suspect they made later tiers much harder to complete.

I don't always get more than one fragment per game. But the xp is lower and not as grindy. Still grindy, but less ... grindy?
Overall a net reduction to the grind. However, it still is aimed at encouraging you to play more during the pass it just made getting to level 70 without claiming challenges actually viable.
Pretty sure those kind of challenges were already in the last tome, maybe even before.
Destroy 20 totems, be alive while 6 survs escape, hook x different survivors.
BHVR loves makes grinds hard, not surprised actually. We still have worst bloodweb and bloodpoint system.
These challenges are easy as hell compared to the other ones. Last tome had challenges that took 3+ games minimum. The simple exp change is plenty to help tbh
It doesn’t seem that much different to me, at least in level 1. Most of the challenges that don’t have to be done in a single match will take a couple, like the “break X pallets/gens” or “cleanse X totems” challenges that have been in many previous Tomes. And there are still the single match challenges.
I’m more concerned about some of the killer challenges in later levels. “Hit at least 2 survivors with a single discharge of Corrupt Purge, twice in one match” - gonna be a lot of camping Plagues when that one goes live, lol.
You use to be at level 11-12 after finishing the 1 part of the challenges.
Now you can get up to 14-15. That's definitly an improvment !
I actually prefer this, it encourages playing more game and takes away some of the frustration of the 'in one match do X' challenges when what you have to do can be very random and based on luck (in terms of what the other teammates/killer does) rather than skill.
