Your only problems was with Hex Perks. Ruin and NOED. The Killers you faced only ran 1-2 slowdown. You are blaming the wrong people for why you are losing games. It's your own fault you are losing games.
Solo Survivor also is in a good place right now, and you are upset because you actually have to have skill and know how at the game to do well.
Quoting directly from my post since you can't read: "Please note: I'm not complaining about killers running meta perks."
That said, it's irrelevant anyway because I've uninstalled.

Actually the reason killer lobbies are so long is because of sbmm.
With killers pretty much leveling up regardless of what they do, they are forced to wait for high sbmm survivors.
But if killers were leaving the game in significant numbers, their queues would surely still be short regardless of SBMM. Low MMR survivors would have extremely long queues if what you're saying is true but I haven't seen anything to suggest that that's the case.

You're getting upset over nothing. Just do totems and you'll be fine.
Why do you think that I'm upset? I'm not upset, I'll just stop playing the game, it's no skin off my nose.
"Do totems" also does nothing to address my issues with solo queue so I'm not sure why you would think that's remotely helpful.
-
Wouldn't long killer queues suggest that the shortage is on the survivor side, not killer?

The pip system and grade system is calculated around Emblems. Once you reach grade 1, it doesn't matter what you do in game since you can't lose grades.
The emblem system is the only thing in game that actually tells you if you've won or not. Even the Killers victory declaration is based off the emblem system.
Fewer than 8 Killer Goals would result in -1 Rank Pip and the lose message
"Entity Displeased".
8 Killer Goals would result in no Rank Pip gain or loss and the message
"Brutal Killer".
9 to 15 Killer Goals would result in a +1 Rank Pip gain and the win message
"Ruthless Killer".
16 Killer Goals would result in +2 Rank Pips and the win message
"Merciless Killer".
Do you really not know anything about any of this? Like why are you so rude when you lack so much knowledge of the game?
My post was talking about the frustration of playing survivor solo and you started talking about pips, I honestly assumed you were joking. I don't think I know a single person who even notices whether they pip or not after about 100 game hours. I also didn't say anything about winning or losing in my post, my issue isn't that I'm not "winning" enough it's that I've completely ceased to have any fun when playing survivor not in a full group.
Why do you think that pips are a signifier of a win? Why are they any more or less meaningful than any other arbitrary condition like 4 kills or 4 BBQ stacks? It's not difficult to pip, in fact I feel like you would have to try NOT to pip most of the time.
What does achieving rank 1 do? It doesn't actually do anything. Is it a difficult achievement? I would say definitely no. Reaching rank 1 literally does nothing now so it's even more meaningless than it was before MMR was introduced.

Run Borrowed Time, Detectives Hunch, Lithe, We'll Make It.
Borrowed Time: Guaranteed Safe Saves for Benevolence Emblem.
Detective Hunch: Let's you find Totems so you can cleanse 2-3 for Evader Emblem. Counters all Hex Perks. With a Map, you remember all revealed objects locations.
Lithe: Any time you fast vault, you receive the "Escaped" reward, even if the killer continues to chase you, because they had to either go through the window or around to start chasing you again. This guarantee's the Evader Emblem.
We'll Make It: You heal other survivors faster, which helps the Benevolence emblem, and at the same time they live longer in a chase even if they themselves are bad at chases. Borrowed Time also helps during the time you are healing a survivor off hook, if the Killer does come back they still have a protection hit to escape.
you keep talking about emblems like they actually do anything.

Too much is expected from the survivor side. If a team has to be perfectly coordinated, then something is wrong.
Randoms would never coordinate well with one another anyway.
But then if killers are nerfed so that uncoordinated teams can win more often, how do you address SWF and the advantages that coordination gives? Because a half decent SWF has a decent advantage over solo queuers and they would win almost all the time, which isn't fair either.
I'm not asking for killer nerfs, I think more killers need to be buffed than nerfed at this point. The problem is solo queue, not killers.

Well I apologize for my initial comment. I guess it came off pretty cold and uncaring.
It's just that the fact is if you're not having fun playing solo queue your only real options are: play killer, play with friend(s) or play something else entirely. All of which I defer to when I try to play solo and two or more of my "teammates" DC instantly leaving me for dead and then the killer hits me on hook until I die even when I've done nothing wrong to them.
I completely agree with you and others, that BHVR needs to help solo queue I just don't know if they'll ever do it. They seem so reluctant to do so it's really painful.
Nah it's cool, this thread got a bit heated for some reason so I was probably just being more defensive than I normally would be.
I'm just playing killer now tbh. I don't think the devs will ever do anything about solo queue because it's probably the reason killers even have a kill rate above 50%. If they ever did anything to address it it would make the balance issues in the game even more apparent and killers would probably leave en masse.

Ruin/Undying/Tinkerer is multiple slowdown perks. Corrupt/Ruin/Pop is multiple slowdown perks. The Ruin/NOED Spirit was more just for the hilarity factor of a Spirit running Ruin/NOED with Mother-Daughter Ring and Dirty Uwabaki.

LMAO okay dude. You’re telling me that if a survivor was running DS/UB/DH and We’re Gonna Live Forever you’d shrug it off because they’re running one perk that isn’t 100% meta? Sure thing.

Huntress main, pick mine then.
I can’t pick your personal build because for all I know you run meme or off-meta builds every match. But in my experience 99% of Huntress players run some combination of the following:
- Corrupt/Pop or Ruin/Undying
- BBQ
- Some random perk that only Huntresses run, like Iron Maiden or Bitter Murmur
- Every once in a while Blood Warden, I see BW on Huntress more than any other killer
- Cooldown and wind up add ons, usually Oak Haft and Flower Babushka

Firstly I didn't say it like that. Secondly I acknowledge solo queue has massive problems.
Please tell me I'm wrong here. If OP wants to enjoy the game more find some friends to play with and have fun. You don't even have to be a swf sweat squad to have FUN. Me and my friends "lose" plenty of matches but we have fun and that's all that counts.
By all means continue to torture yourself with solo queue if you don't like the idea of making friends and playing with them lol
Making friends isn’t the problem. I have friends and most of them have no desire to play DBD. The friends that I do play DBD with aren’t available to play every time I am.
I’m a bit bored of people trying to derail the thread by saying “well just play SWF then”. SWF is irrelevant. It isn’t the point. It has nothing to do with the things I’m talking about so there’s no point in bringing it up. Of course I’m aware that it’s an option that exists and believe it or not but I do play with people sometimes, but the people I play with do have other things going on with their lives. Sometimes I have free time to play DBD and they’re not online so I play solo. My mistake, obviously, trying to have fun with a game mode that exists in the game.
-
I’ve been playing more single player games lately actually! Greedfall and Planet Coaster, and some old classics like Fallout: New Vegas.
I’d love to give VHS a go when the beta releases, it looks like it might scratch the DBD itch without having some of the biggest frustrations I have with this game.
What’s Pokemon Unite like? I actually haven’t heard of it, but then I don’t usually play a lot of mobile games.

This is one of those things that becomes pretty awkward for me, as I do try to consider that there is a living, breathing human on the other end of those avatars.
So - the situation. We've all been there.
Game starts, I manage to catch someone and they rage DC. Possibly other players follow. Or more annoying, just goes and stands AFK next to a hook somewhere.
Now, there are 2 or 3 survivors left, and maybe 3 or 4 gens.
I can either close the game out, or I can give them a break, chase them around, wound them, let them earn some BP and maybe let them escape.
I tend to do the latter. I don't like punishing other players because of one rager or troll and I feel legit bad.
However, wow - for every team that thanks me for doing this, another rages at me for 'holding the game hostage'. And of course, I get raged at if I just annihilate everyone.
It sort of feels like there is no right move here.
TL/DR: Survivors, in a situation where someone rage DCs or AFKs, would you prefer it if the killer just closes the game out ASAP, or would you prefer it if they went easy and let you earn some BP/escape?
You can usually tell what the survivors want. If they stand still in front of a hook or point at it or spam some fast vaults near a hook, they want you to kill them so they can move on. If they try to Kobe they want to die so they can move on. If they try to keep playing, they want you to try to keep playing. If they happily farm with you they want to farm.
Personally I usually kill the one/two remaining (by rotating hooks, letting them save and then hooking the unhooker, so they all get altruism points) and let the last guy escape through hatch because that’s the fastest and most efficient way to show mercy. Most survivors get it and I’ve never received salt for it.
I don’t think most survivors expect you to farm, they’re just grateful if you don’t start playing hyper aggressive and tunnel off hook, slug everyone, etc. Let them get some points and maybe go for their “loot chests” challenge or whatever, and most are happy.

Here's a legit piece of advice: find some people to play with on dbd discord and it'll be a completely different story in a good way. I only play full swf with my friends, sometimes with randoms on comms, and it's been God knows when since I had a frustrating experience in this game.
Who knows, maybe you'll find there a long-term buddy in time.
I've tried but most of the people I've met on the DBD discord were kids, sexist jerks or toxic so I'm not in a rush to try again.
If the devs have no desire to do anything about the frustrations of solo queue I would honestly prefer to play either killer, or something else entirely.

Killer main here. Most of the matches I've had recently I've had survivors run nothing but Borrowed Time, Dead Hard, Decisive Strike, and Iron Will. Honestly it gets boring because I'm always expecting those perks and just work my playstyle around them.
Same reason killers run meta perks. They extend the match for the person running them and increase their chances of winning.

The SBMM didn't change ANYTHING. I mostly play duo these days but when I end up playing solo, I wanna uninstall the game after 1 match.
NONE of my team mates does gens. 80% of my games still end with a 4k at 4-5 gens. Then there is always someone that either suicides or DC's on first down/hook. Then I still get team mates who won't EVER go for an unhook which ends in people dying on 1st or 2nd hook way too often.
Solo queue is just a ridiculous experience.
Man, the people who don't go for unhooks. I feel that pain. There'll be one healthy, completely unhooked person on the team and two injured, and instead of looking at their HUD and thinking, "oh wait I should probably go for this save because in the worst case scenario I can at least trade" they just decide that committing to their 20% gen is the smarter thing to do.

@skylerbound said:
i understood the arguments before mmr, didn’t necessarily agree with them but it made sense. Now with MMR, I have to prepare every match as if im going up against a coordinated SWF which results in overkill for the inevitable soloQ or duos.
these are two different types of matches, with one group put together randomly and another eliminating variables with discord.
“But queues will be longer cause lobby’s will be dodged” so? If a killer isn’t prepared or doesn’t have the perks then they shouldn’t commit to a match that would a disadvantage to them. A group got to choose to pick their teammates, why not give the killer the choice to go against a squad or not?
edit to add: But dodging will make swf queue times longer?? Ok but killer queues are already long, killers aren’t going to dodge for an hour to avoid a swf…
It's nice that you would play more chill against non-SWF, but I think you're being naive if you don't think that a lot of players would use the opportunity to go harder instead. Putting on mass blindness or slugging builds against solos for example, or only playing certain killers (e.g. Twins) against solos, or just dodging every 3/4 man SWF.
It's kind of like saying "I should see the killer before the match because then I'll chill out if they're playing a low-tier killer". Plenty of people would not be so kind.

The point is that complaining about perks ruining your experience is close to pointless, given the fact that you are going to see them, them being meta perks that carry players, no matter what side you're on once you start climbing MMR. Everyone's experience is made worse by that fact. DBD is just not a competitive game.
So if I'm climbing MMR, how do I get games like the one in my post where everyone was dead at 5 gens? Why am I getting teammates running meme builds against killers with the strongest possible thing they can run?

Fair. But even then, you still see more diverse perks. It does feel fresh.
Not saying that both sides don't have horrible power creep. But #########, it gets really tiring facing the same kinds of survivors over and over.
It really doesn't feel fresh at all to me. Unless you consider guessing whether the killer is running Ruin/Undying/Tinkerer or Corrupt/Pop/Tinkerer to be fun and exciting, which I don't, personally.
-
@DelsKibara said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2539455#Comment_2539455
I just want to add to this.
Why don't people run other GOOD perks? Spine Chill, Iron Will, ######### like Detective's Hunch to hunt totems? Why isn't anyone running builds with Flashbang and Blast Mine anymore? Pharmacy makes healing easier than Self Care, why aren't people running that over Self Care? It's faster too. And the perk effects lingers.
Vigil is getting buffed, yet there is stlil a pretty good reason to run it. ######### Built to Last even before it's buff that is insane is still pretty good for slamming down gens. Why not Fast Track or altruistic builds like For the People and Botney?
Personally I try to run a pretty diverse survivor build, at least according to the meta. I just wish other people do too.
Because if you don't run DS you get tunnelled straight off hook back to back and don't get to play the game. If you don't run BT the killer can smack someone straight off hook and again, they don't get to play.
I think multiple Unbreakables is kind of pointless to be honest but slugging is powerful and there are several killers that can do it easily so it makes sense to have at least one.
And Dead Hard is just the most well-rounded and fun exhaustion perk most of the time. People don't like Sprint Burst because it's kind of annoying to manage. Lithe gets you exhausted on the ground most of the time because you sprint away from the window/pallet and then go down. Balanced Landing straight up isn't useable on certain maps. Smash Hit is useless unless you have a killer that throws themselves at pallets, but most don't and once they know you have it they'll just respect so you can't use it.

It's always those damn three perks huh?
It's getting predictable. Been playing my last hurrah with Slinger before his nerf goes live, and I've been facing an increasing number of survivors who just runs those 3 perks. They're not even good. Their perks are literally carrying them to where they are right now.
If I am streaming to my friends on Discord, I can call every single survivor who uses Dead Hard like I'm a psychic and they think I'm some sort of impressive killer. I'm not. It's just so prevelent nowadays.
Yeah I mean killers are running way more diverse builds these days, I can predict their build chosen from a pool of 7 perks rather than the 5 that survivors pick from.
-

I'll agree that SoloQ is suffering, but MMR has a lot to do with it also it seems. For example, I don't consider myself an amazing Survivor and on top of that I rarely run meta perks. Which means most of the Survivors in my Survivor games look like this:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/MP9K63FWCLBB/p1.png
(Yes I was doing a sabo Archive)
On the other hand, I can't queue up as a Killer without seeing something like this:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/SB6M6EFYAIBD/p2.png
Every single game, no matter what Killer I play, it's three of those four perks on every single Survivor, with that one exception here and there.
Right, and every survivor game I play it's the same 5 killer perks over and over again as well. I don't see your point to be honest.

Right, "just play in a SWF duh" as a solution to the issues with solo queue. You don't see how that might signify that there's a massive balance (and fun) issue here? If one game mode is just superior to the other in every single way, you don't think that might be something that should be addressed by the devs instead of them keeping their heads in the sand?
People told me MMR would fix these issues with solo queue but it's actually worse than ever.

Really feels like medkits are too powerful, I think the whole healing system will be looked at.
I really don’t think that nerfing healing across the board would end the way people want it to. If you nerf healing significantly enough to discourage survivors from doing it then guess what will happen? More and more survivors will start running Adrenaline and just play injured but split up to prevent snowballing.
If you only nerf solo healing but keep team healing the same then you’re basically just nerfing solo players and buffing SWF. Not really ideal either.

Ghostface got a net nerf. He still needs to use recovery add-ons but the add-ons are nerfed and none of the other add-ons got any change whatsoever so they are still not worth using. All of GF's add-ons are stat modifiers. Only Outdoor Security Camera does something new for the killer. Move Speed, Stalk Speed, Stalk Move Speed, Detection Range, Killer Instinct duration, Mark duration, this all stat based add-ons. GF only had 5 add-ons and now he only has 3. Chewed Pen, Security Cam and GF caught on Tape. Nothing else is worth running. Whoever says so doesn't play GF enough. None of his add-ons solve issues like Reveal Mechanic being wonky and exploitable, none of them fixes losing power wether you do a good or bad play, none of them gives GF a chance against SpineChill, none of the add-ons is even a Meme BP add-on, none of them is a simple on hit status effect. None of them does anything besides changing numbers....
Ghostface players have literally been asking the devs to reduce his basekit power cooldown since he released. They do exactly what the community has been asking them to do for 2+ years and that’s a bad thing? Lol.
I was hoping for more and I think they need to change his add ons further in the future but people really do be complaining that a patch that contained more changes than we’ve seen in the last year combined wasn’t enough. Even when it contained many highly requested changes from the community.

So do you think that could have been vpn or just very bad ping on the killers side? The ping was green in the lobby.
The ping you see in the lobby is your connection to the server, the killer’s ping is entirely separate and there’s no way to see it. Hits like that are usually down to a connection issue, either on your side or the killer’s. It’s hard to say for definite which caused the problem because you could have had a temporary issue with your connection, or it could have been the killer’s connection that was bad.
-
The change they made only applies to hits after pallet stuns. You can still get hit from miles away at windows, undropped pallets, in the open, etc. because the game uses data from the killer side to determine whether something hit or not with no verification. That’s why some unscrupulous people VPN for an advantage.

And poor survivors are entiteled to be rude because... like you say, they are so limited in taunting.

I think people actually really weaken the definition of teabagging rather then the definition of toxic behaviour. If shoving his ballsack into the opponents mouth is not considered to be toxic, then probably nothing else is.
Except that there are no ballsacks in DBD and even if there were, they wouldn’t be anywhere near the killer’s mouth because you can’t knock a killer to the ground. The only thing they’re dunking their hypothetical balls into is the grass.
Teabagging is only a thing in DBD because it’s one of about 4 things survivors can do to taunt, and even then people complain about the rest like pointing and flashlight clicking being toxic too. What horrors do they represent, violently poking your opponent’s eyes out and using the flashlight beam as a form of sensory torture?

Repeatedly pressing a button with the intention of antagonizing the opponent is toxic behavior. That’s the only reason why players do so, to annoy or insult the killer.
Being annoying is not toxic, it’s being annoying.
People really weaken the definition of ‘toxic’ with stuff like this. Something toxic is something poisonous and harmful, it’s behaviour that harms others, not just behaviour that annoys.
Toxicity is people saying horrible things, people harassing you, etc. Smacking someone on hook or teabagging is not harmful behaviour, it’s rude and immature but that’s the extent of it.

The crying is way out of proportion, it is one map, but instead of just sucking it up when someone plays on a Map they dont like, they rush to the Forums to complain, because they played 1 game out of 30 or whatever on a Map they dont like.
I don’t think people having complaints about the map is “crying”. Some people are excessive with their complaints (as always) but most people seem to have legitimate criticisms about the gameplay of the map, and interestingly those criticisms aren’t just coming from one “side” either.

Who exactly was buffed other than Michael Myers and Trapper? Who are still going to be low tier btw.
Pig got overall nerfed, removed her best addons and replaced it with a meme addon.
Deathslinger got heavy nerfed.
Spirit was nerfed but wasn't nearly as heavy as Deathslinger so it won't be changing up any killer meta...You are still only going to see Nurse, Spirit and Blight at higher MMR.
Wraith got nerfed, lol.
Unless I'm missing something it was overall mostly nerfs to killers
Keys should of been nerfed a year ago with Mori's so I don't know how you can be "happy" about something they should of did forever ago. it wasn't like it was a hard change, they just didn't do it for whatever reason.
Also these "boon warriors" will still be doing gens. The people who actually know how to use the heal boons are going to set them up nearby gens and not at them, rush the gens, run away to the boons once you drop chase, heal and go right back to the gen. If anything it's going to help them rush you especially if they are stupid and 3 gen themselves.
Trapper, Myers, Plague got considerable buffs, basekit Ghostface, Blight got some fun add ons buffed, and Pig didn’t get nerfed overall she got several buffed add ons. If you used TT/CoG every match before this I suppose that got nerfed but I didn’t think that combo was particularly healthy for the game so I’m glad to see it tuned down. It wasn’t even nerfed that heavily either, TT went from -30 seconds to -20. Oh no!
Whether keys should have been nerfed before or not is irrelevant. They got nerfed. Therefore I’m happy about it.
And if survivors want to run a perk that means they spend time doing bones and Self Caring every time they get hit then great! I look forward to longer matches.
(That’s the opposite of “rushing” btw, actual rushing would be just running Adrenaline and doing the gen injured.)

Assuming 95% of the playerbase are survivors?I cant see how killer will like this change.
I play a lot of killer and I like most of the changes from this patch.
Anything to shake up the meta and the way people play is good IMO. I’ll be happy to face a team of boon totem warriors just as I’m happy to face a team of flashlight warriors. Either option is more fun than the prospect of a team of gen warriors.
Plus, some of my favourite killers to play got some nice buffs, changes and QoL improvements and they nerfed the cheesability of hatch/keys so I’m very happy. I hope they release even more patches like this. :)

im a solo red rank survivor main but i want to start playing more killer.I have played alot of pig, trapper, and myers.I played wraith for the first time and got matched with good survivors. This does not make me want to try other killers just to get my ass kicked every game.Do i just keep playing survivor or what?
When you first started playing survivor, were you immediately great at it and winning most of your matches? I doubt it.
It’s the same thing here. You can’t expect to win all the time when you first pick something up. You have to learn how to do it. Practice, learn, and you’ll get better and start to win more. Stop caring about losing because it literally means nothing. You’re not going to get dumped or fired because you lost in a video game, the worst thing that will happen is thar you’ll feel bad about it and that’s something that is totally within your own control.

I think Pop is overrated and annoying to use as well but if that’s how you feel, do what I do and don’t run it? There are plenty of alternative perks you can use (89 alternatives to be exact).
It’s still one of the most commonly picked killer perks in the game, so many people obviously like it and rate it highly. If it was really that weak and bad and game-losing, I don’t think you’d see it so often.
