  • No, I don’t enjoy doing gens. I just do it because if I don’t, everyone dies.

I enjoy killer a lot unless I’m going against a sweat squad, then it’s just boring/frustrating. But regular killer matches are a lot of fun for me, especially if it’s a close match. Survivor is fun if my team mates have a brain, even if I die - as long as we have it a genuine attempt.

He/she is not op for survivor or killer but last year i only went against about 5-12 while playing 212 games in a month.

I didn't escape all the time but i have escaped legion. even after nurse's 5tps and legion missing an attack and getting a 4 second stun is ok? Balanced?

    1. Having to mend over and over is annoying.
    2. Having to play most of the match injured is annoying.
    3. The effects you get on your screen when in Deep Wound are really annoying.
    4. Killers with wallhack abilities annoy people, and while Legion can’t see auras they can see where survivors are, like Doc. Theres a reason a lot of people complain about this; it’s the same reason killers hate OoO.
    5. There’s no interactivity to their power. They chase you down and hit you 99% of the time, there’s no real way to play around it (maybe Sprint Burst, but again, it doesn’t take a lot of brainpower).

I say this as someone who doesn’t have a massive problem with Legion as they are now. But I get why they’re still unpopular.

  • I was interested in it before the demo, but the performance on PS4 is shocking, matchmaking is pretty bad and the controls and gameplay feel like a game from 10 years ago. I won’t be buying it unless it gets some pretty significant updates.

Tired of seeing posts saying killers are cry babies, when in reality killers never get what they ask for, survivors complains are less since they allways go through with fixing survivors complains

I am just waiting for the nerf to noed and moris since that's what survivors been complaining about recently

Stop going against killers complains when you should be seeing it from their side, and trying to support their complains

    rant over

So the devs didn’t nerf insta heals in response to killer complaints? Or tool boxes? Or MoM or Self Care? They didn’t add EGC, rework Doctor and Freddy, or add Undetectable?

The devs absolutely listen to killer complaints, they just don’t listen to every single thing people get mad about. And considering how bad some of the suggestions people make on these forums are, I’m glad.

It's true that it isn't an exploit but I'm not sure about "working as intended".

Sure, producer of this game was high enough to say that they require skill and are a mindgame but let's ignore him for now.

They just require huge investment of time so most killers just give up chases at the point survivor reaches them. Sadly, some maps are build so that structure is always accessible and killers might as well give up at that point.

Looking at breakable wall in killers shack and few structured on the new map it looks like single person dedicated small amount of time to mitigate or remove infinite-like structures from the new map.

It doesn’t matter how long they take, they’re working as the devs intended because you run around them and press a button, just like any other loop. Some of these loops have been in the game for years, if they were bugged or exploitable in some way they would have been removed, like many other exploits or unintended gameplay features - hook techs, trapping under the hook, Legion moonwalking, the crane tech on Autohaven, fast vaults with no momentum, survivors climbing onto rocks, etc.

  • @Actionjacksn said:

Why they are not game exploits when the killer have to leave a survivor completely because it is impossible to catch the survivor?

Because nobody is exploiting anything? They’re working exactly as intended.

As frustrating as it is to have to deal with busted loops and structures, it’s not cheating, it’s not exploiting anything, and it isn’t against the rules. You may think it’s tacky or unsportsmanlike but it’s allowed.

  • I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone complain about Demo, but I’ve seen complaints about literally every other killer. Which makes sense since it’s all just down to personal preference.

Have you played this game for a year??

    Self care was nerfed.

    DS was nerfed.

    Leader was nerfed.

Sabotage was nerfed (the action, not the perk).

    Med kit addons were nerfed.

Toolboxes and their addons were nerfed.

    Petrified oak, nerfed.

    Windows were removed.

    Loops were closed.

    Palette numbers were reduced.

The number of unsafe palettes has increased.

Totems have been moved and better hidden.

The number of hooks was increased.

The distance between hooks was decreased.

Hook re-spawn rate has drastically increased.

    Newer maps are smaller.

Some killers have received speed increases.

Some killers had all detraction removed from their abilities (Hag).

    ...the list goes on.

Breakable walls, end game collapse, Undetectable status effect, prestige clothing brightened, survivors making loud screams when they fall from a height, Balanced Landing nerfed, Freddy and Doctor buffed, dedicated servers, loss of add ons, etc. etc. etc.

  • @Brodie said:

I used to use self care when i first started, i now use inner strength (not all can have access to it ofc) what annoys me the most with those that do run self care is when the killer isn't campin, I'm strugglin on a hook close to death whilst they're self carin against sloppy butcher near me, that royally pisses me off instead of just unhookin and gettin the heal, but if u're last in the game say bcs ur team mates buggered off and u're left injured is when personally i would use it at a safe zone before dippin out, but each to their own, all i see now is self care users

It’s definitely situationally useful! End game is the perfect time for it, and there are some scenarios where you have the time and being healed is important so it makes sense to use. I’d rather run perks with more utility though.

  • @RepliCant said:

Self care is in a good spot. Useless at high level play but at lower ranks can come in handy.

Wish this perk wasn't as popular as it was though.

Same. It’s crazy how often I see rank 1s and 2s running it.

Honestly, you are better off with self care instead of aura reading perks. You can make a good argument that aura reading has other benefits besides healing which is true. But in terms of just healing, self care is better. If you have another player heal you then you are spending time moving around the map to get to them and also it is wasting two players time not being on gens instead of one. It's overall more efficient to just heal yourself.

Nah, I completely disagree, Self Care would be a worse play than letting other people heal me. Both survivors are off gens for 16 seconds, sure, but that’s half the time of Self Care for the killer to patrol. The number of times I’ve seen a survivor Self Care for like 30 full seconds only to get downed in the last second or two is depressing. And having one person completely out of commission for 32 seconds is really bad - it’s not just the survivors’ time you have to account for, but the killer’s as well.

I don’t go looking for people to heal me either. I use my time injured to actually do stuff, like gens or hex totems or unhooks - but if I come across another survivor with an aura reading perk I’ll let them heal me if we have time for it. I mostly run aura perks to let me coordinate my actions around the actions of my team.

  • @toxcitynacl said:

I see it pretty often but I have pretty much ditched it for Inner Strength.

I just play injured until I’m hooked, and then the unhooker usually heals me. Otherwise I just use an aura reading perk to find someone since I always run either Bond or Kindred.

  • Yeah it’s the most boring gameplay possible. You know they’re using the downed guy as bait, the downed guy knows it, the killer knows you know it. So it becomes a tedious waiting and sneaking game.

I’ve slugged for the 4K a couple of times but I just can’t be bothered anymore. If the last guy finds the hatch, whatever. If I find it they probably die. A 3K with hatch and a 4K are literally the same to me, by that point the match is already over so just get it finished.

  • 100% agreed. This would be a good QOL change and I can’t see why anybody would have an issue with it being implemented.

Well, first of all, Nurse is in a really bad spot right now. She's probably the hardest killer in the game (and also the one with most bugs). And yes, before anyone mentions it, she has a very substantial learning curve and et cetera. But, since the rework (or nerf, call it whatever), she's being very frustrating to play as. And I'm not talking about the Nurse one tricks, I'm talking about everyone else who plays as killer.

We all know that the problem was never her power, but the add-ons. But instead of fixing them (reworking them or simply nerfing), they just tried something else that clearly hasn't worked out.

So I wanted to bring attention to this subject, in the hopes that it will create a healthy discussion, where everyone can express their opinion, and hopefully catch the the eyes of the developers. Thanks for reading.

I'll leave this picture here, which, I think, speaks for itself.

I thought kill rate stats didn’t mean anything? If they’re now actually a metric people want to balance from, does that mean Freddy needs a nerf after Nurse’s buff? Or can we agree that stats without context are limited in their usefulness?

  • @Kebek said:

When you can't hit DS skillcheck even after it was made larger. It's so sad that players like you demand more buffs to extremely powerful perks only because you don't want to gid gut.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/537/44XF5MV7F3YO.jpg

Would this be large enough for you to hit or would you still miss ?

Please petition the devs to make the skill check that size, thanks 😎

I’m obviously boosted because I can never hit the DS skill check - literally I’ve never successfully hit it. This despite hitting greats 90% of the time and easily hitting Overcharge or Unnerving Presence skillchecks every time. I’m not sure why I struggle with DS in particular.

  • I think even reducing the number of perk levels from 3 to 2 would help massively.

The fact that perks are so inaccessible when they’re such an important part of this game is really frustrating for newbies.

  • “Killers can't DC if they are in annoying situations” - Good.

If it isn’t okay for survivors to disconnect against sweaty or frustrating killers (which it isn’t), it isn’t okay for killers to disconnect against sweaty or frustrating survivors either.

It’s just one match. Play it out and move on to the next one.

Just played a game with a David totally changed my mind

1 in 1000 Davids are gods, they’ll bodyblock at the perfect times, take aggro, heal you with their medkit because they know they don’t need it, then cleanse NOED just in time to get hit while someone else saves you from the hook.

Unfortunately there are those 999 other dumb Davids out there that will make you curse their existence.

  • @Clevite said:

I think a lot has changed as the game evolved. Specifically the no heal meta. It used to be hit someone and if they got away they would go heal. Gens weren't a constant threat.

You had time to chase, could be more lenient on tunneling, play a bit less sweaty.

Then the ruin nerf combined with no heal meta and every second began to count.

I agree. There was a time when killers took pride in hitting red ranks playing under the "survivor rule book". But that luxury in time is hard to find anymore and has created this sweat fest, which increased the use of unfun tactics.

Both sides seem to feel like they’re on a time crunch now and they play like it, it sucks. After the Self Care nerf, the no heal meta was inevitable - otherwise you spend so much time healing against killers that can so easily injure you again in a second, like Legion. And after the Ruin nerf, the slugging meta was just as inevitable since coordinated survivors can do gens so fast.

Survivors feel like they don’t have time to heal, and killers feel like they don’t have time to hook, reducing the fun for both sides.

  • @Shaped said:

It doesn't matter now because survivors stay in the lobby. It isn't annoying like it was before when it sent everyone back to the main menu.

Yep, this. Being able to pick and choose your lobby as killer is no big deal now since it won’t cancel the lobby and waste the time of four other people. Everyone’s happy. :)

  • I don’t think they could ban for brightness settings or stretched resolution since you’re changing these settings in your PC or monitor, not the game. How would they detect it?

  • @ZoneDymo said:

Sadly I feel I need to start by saying that pls, dont make this some Us vs Them discussion or bring in all kinds of unrelated things. Im merely asking what people think off or how they feel about, all the info the game just...gives them these days:

You touch a gen, you immediatly get an icon telling you Huntress Lullaby is in effect (even when not a single soul has been hooked yet)

Mindbreaker? the game just tells you and tells you when the effect is over

Dead Man's Switch? the game just tells you

NoeD, the game tells you, you dont need to pay attention if someone goes down in one hit, it just tells you and loudly so.

Devour Hope? again it just tells you.

A bit more specific, Myers still in T3? an icon on the side of the screen will tell you, no need to look at myers, the way he walks which was specifically made to convey this information, all you need to do is pay attention of the side of the screen for that icon, you wont get caught off guard if you miss the map wide music sting because again, just look for that icon.

Probably a lot more things im currently forgetting but yeah, basically as I see it, the game isnt survivor sided in that way, its baby survivor sided, it does not reward you for playing the game a while, there is no knowledge and skill for a player to build towards because the game just tells you.

It also removes a lot of surprise which imo is sad because that could lead of fun tense situations but maybe that is just me.

So yeah, let me know, how do you feel about it.

No it doesn’t bother me. I already know that when someone goes down in one hit in end game that the killer has NOED, I don’t need to be notified... but I did when I first started playing. Imagine being on your, say, fifth ever match of this game, being used to being hit twice before you’re downed, and then getting insta downed by NOED seemingly out of nowhere. The devs would be inundated by mistaken reports of cheaters, lmao. Because that’s why this information exists: to let new players know that something is messing with the game mechanics, some rules of the trial have changed and they need to beware. Otherwise they just think the game is buggy or the killer is cheating when the rules change midway.

You’ve said yourself that most of the information the game gives you can be puzzled out anyway. You know if you’re under the effects of Remember Me because the door takes longer to open, you don’t need the little perk icon. *But new players find it helpful*, and it really doesn’t harm the experience for most experienced survivor players so I don’t see the problem. None of the game mechanics surprise you after so many hours in the game.

I mean, what do you want? No HUD or notifications of any kind for survivors? The gap between solo and SWF would widen even more, new players would find the game way too confusing and leave (a lot of them already do even with this so called hand holding), and veteran players would just shrug and continue on because they know the game like the back of their hand already. It wouldn’t add any tension or mystery to the game, just confusion for newbies. And SWF would still know your full perk load out a minute into the game.

The only one I can agree is unnecessary is Lullaby. It should only notify the survivors when it has at least one token, imo. Ruin is fine because you can just see the generator spark when you let go of it anyway.

One person with DS has an effect on the killer for the ENTIRE match. Whether anyone is running it or not, if the killer isn't running an obsession perk, he has to assume DS is in play. The entire play style of the killer changes. DS is much more than the 5 seconds stun.

Much like a killer needs to adjust when they know person has dead hard. Their is a passive effect that lingers through the whole match.

You are correct that hex perks are powerful. So strong in fact that the survivors, the people being hunted by this super powered homicidal maniac, can remove it completely without any chance of it doing anything. Another thing, outside of ruin, no hex totems apply effects straight from the start of the match. And even with ruin, the killer has to do something to force the survivor off the generator. So in many many cases, hex totems give less than 5 seconds of value during a match.

This is true of many perks though isn’t it? I know that I play around killer perks when I’m playing survivor, like using gens as cover from BBQ, not healing in the killer’s TR, cleansing totems in case of NOED, not opening doors to avoid BW, and so on. I’d argue that playing around the opposite team’s (potential) perks is important to getting better at the game on both sides, since it lets you avoid preventable mistakes.

DS is one of the only perks that actually announces its presence and lets you play with complete confidence that it isn’t there if there’s no Obsession. The only similar perks I can think of are Ruin and Lullaby, which let you know early on if they’re in play or not.

  • I feel like I’ve missed something. Where is 30% coming from?

  • 19) Spirit

My least favourite killer. Not sure there’s much that needs explaining, I feel like this is a moderately popular opinion.

    18) Freddy

Every time a killer slugs me and leaves me to bleed out in end game for no reason it’s a Freddy. A boring, unfun killer design that’s almost always played by someone with a chip on their shoulder.

    17) Nurse

If she’s good you’re dead. If she’s bad the game is easy. I don’t really find her fun at all.

    16) Deathslinger

A killer that downs people quickly but has no map pressure. Either the game is a horrible snowball with 5 second chases, or a 4 minute gen rush. Either way it sucks. Plus a lot of them wait just outside of TR range of the hook and then just tunnel right back, probably due to said lack of pressure.

    15) Doctor

The constant screaming hurts my ears. All of the music and sound effects in Doctor matches annoy the heck out of me actually. I‘m not sure what the devs think they did to make him less annoying to play against because he isn’t.

    14) Plague

Similar to Deathslinger, the nature of her power means you have to just slam gens as fast as possible since healing is impossible, early cleansing is bad, and you can’t waste time or be sneaky. Leads to either fast snowballs where everyone dies on first hook or gen rush.

    13) Clown

The visual effects of his gas make me feel ill, his power is kind of boring, and the easiest way to play against him is just to run from pallet to pallet slamming them down early which is completely uninteractive.

    12) Wraith

I don’t know why but I just can’t remember ever having a great match against a Wraith.

    11) Trapper

A well designed killer, I just don’t enjoy him too much from the survivor side.

    10) Ghostface

If his power wasn’t so buggy he’d be fine.

    9) Leatherface

He’s fine if the person playing him isn’t insecure.

    8) Legion

Legion’s fine now. Not great but fine.

    7) Hag

I’m a former Hag main so I like playing against her.

    6) Pig

I like most Pigs if they don’t tunnel off the hook. Her crouch mindgames are enjoyable.

    5) Oni

Pretty fun. Enjoyable chases and mindgames. Only annoying if my teammates can’t survive longer than five seconds against him, but that’s not really on the killer.

    4) Billy

    Same as above.

    3) Myers

His base power is great. Not a fan of some of his add ons but I love his design and enjoy playing against him.

    2) Huntress

This is pre-dedicated servers. Hit boxes aside, I love chases against Huntress. Trying to read each other, pre-empting what you think they’ll do and when and where they’ll throw. Fun.

    1) Demogorgon

Cute, fun, a bit scary. Idk I just like Demo.

  • This is often down to an issue with your controller. Sometimes it’s a dead zone issue with your sticks, or the L1 button isn’t working properly - maybe try switching running to L2 in the control settings.

  • I played as survivor against a Plague with this bug recently. It was bad but funny - the Plague was running around stuck in her puking animation so it was obvious they were bugged. So it’s very apparent from the survivor side as well.

  • No, I try to play like a team player. Do gens when I’m not being chased, save if I’m nearby, take aggro if I haven’t been hooked yet, etc. Leaving your teammates to do all the “boring” work of gens seems kind of selfish to me.

  • @gibblywibblywoo said:

Aint that the truth. I hope this MMR thing fixes it but at this point the game is making me want play swf.

I'm not convinced it will make any difference, but hopefully it does.
