You mean the perk that makes you play an entire trial with only 3 perks for little reward that's easily countered? No I don't - it's not a reliable perk, and useless against good survivors. This is not on topic however. Borrowed Time is rewarding survivors for 0 effort.
Borrowed Time is just as easily countered as NOED, even more easily in fact. You don’t have to do anything except chase one of the other 3 survivors, which is what you probably should be doing anyway. It’s countered by standard killer gameplay.
If you’re not sure where to go after a hook then I can recommend BBQ or Thrilling Tremors to point you to your next chase.
-
Getting to high ranks is trivially easy. A lot of players are at ranks they shouldn’t be at, and there’s a lot about the game they don’t understand, so I wouldn’t expect a lot of game sense from most people. It’s easiest to just throw the pallet and run if you don’t understand the fundamentals of survivor chase or how killer powers work.

How is power creep a thing in DBD when the strongest stuff is literally years old and makes all the new stuff look weak ?
Yeah, if anything DBD is in power decline. Original perks, items and add ons have been nerfed heavily. I mean 5 blink Nurse used to be a thing, how can anyone seriously think this game suffers from power creep?

Everything is wrong with it. It's a free loop extension when used for distance, it favors PC players who use macros or have a superior connection (allowing some players to react perfectly to killer hits but leaves others exhausted on the ground), and it's a third health state. If all 4 survivors have it, there's almost no way you can win that match. And if it's so weak as people claim, why do a majority of high level players still run it?
What? Who the heck uses a macro for Dead Hard? It’s one key press, lol.

I mean its also good because if sony loses they pretty much have to give in entirely. (The sony lawsuit)
Isn’t the Sony lawsuit about its digital sales of games? I didn’t think that would affect cross-progression, I’m by no means an expert though.
-
Is this DapperTrapper’s new account? Lol.
-
The Epic/Apple lawsuit has shed some light on the cross-progression issue, and it doesn’t make me confident that there will ever be cross-progression between PlayStation and other platforms, sadly.
Essentially, Sony requires publishers to pay them money if people spend more on their account via other platforms than they do on PlayStation. So if Behaviour allow cross-progression they’re risking getting stuck with fees from Sony every month; I suppose they have to weigh up the costs and benefits to see if it’s worth it.
Sucks, but that’s Sony for ya.

You're right and no good killer plays like that. But finding someone outpositioned can also be hard in some matches. I still think that 3-4 minutes is a bit harsh for one down.
3-4 minutes is a long time for a down, but a) this is the most survivor-sided map, b) Zubat is a better survivor than like 99.9% of the player base, c) there was no external pressure at all - nobody else was doing gens, there was no concern for whether or not to drop a pallet or take a hit and conserve it for later, etc.
In a normal game you consider where and when to chase, and there are other things pressuring both sides. It’s not like Zubat had to avoid running the killer in a particular area cause of teammates doing gens there or someone hanging on the hook, for example. Or worry about creating dead zones for his teammates.
-
In other news, Cowshed is a disgustingly unbalanced map and always has been.
This is why it’s so important for new killer players to learn not to overcommit to one survivor. There are 4 survivors and the key is to get them when they’re out of position or push them towards an area that’s already been cleared. You don’t just chase one person around the map breaking every pallet they drop safely and expect to win. 1v1s aren’t how the game is played.
-
It’s the circle of nerfs: the most complained about thing gets nerfed and then people move onto the next thing.
DS was nerfed so now it’s either DH or BT that will get complained about endlessly. Same thing with survivors: Freddy got nerfed so next they complain about Twins or whatever.

What, do people come out of the womb knowing how to play all video games? There’s no learning curve at all, even for a party game?
Saying “no offence” after calling people pathetic doesn’t make your statement suddenly not an insult btw. Your attitude stinks, full offence.

It’s not like they know you’re playing a meme build before the match and are running good perks to spite you, they’re gonna assume you’re trying your hardest to win like most people do. I would recommend not running meme builds if you get upset when they cause you to lose.

This morning, EVERY single trial I have tried as Trickster gets met with 1-3 people DCing the moment they see him. He's weak, and honestly one of (if not THE) weakest Killers in the game, but is he THIS hated by Survivors as well?
I have only played against Trickster once. It was yesterday, and I had no issue dealing with him and escaping. I even got a bit brazen against him and he was incapable of properly punishing me for it. Judging by the DCs, however, this is not normal. People would rather eat a 5+ minute DC penalty that play against a weak killer that throws toy knives.
This also happened last night, but I only played two rounds of Trickster, and chalked it up to late night Survivors wanting to farm and not play seriously, but no, this seems to be a thing. What's going on?
https://media1.tenor.com/images/3d9ed7977cd89d4bce7a3eca7e84caa4/tenor.gif?itemid=16509571
Pic related: It's been my Trickster matches all morning.
I don’t mind playing against him myself, but a lot of Tricksters just aggressively patrol hooks and then down both unhooker and unhooked because you have enough knives to hit through BT (unless you hooked them in the middle of a strong structure, which you’ll probably try to avoid doing when playing this killer). You can’t safely rescue if a Trickster commits to a camp.
Not that this justifies DCing, of course. But it may be why. I can’t really think of any other reason.

Repressed Alliance - Good perk but it is hurting by Ruin. So when you use this on one gen, ruin has to stop for this gen. That will make this perk more useful.
Ruin doesn’t regress blocked gens so it already works this way.
I completely agree about Windows of Opportunity.
-
That would make the perk completely useless. I’m not a particular fan of NOED but you might as well just delete it altogether at that point.

Well...... They probably are, to farm BP, lmao.
Really though - yeah, well, I AGREE. Any Killer perks that translate to the same obnoxiousness of having to respect it, which totally warps your gameplay, even though they may NOT have it (Nurse's Call comes to mind, and I wouldn't say many other Killer perks can compare to what BT does) could also do with a change.
Or, perhaps something big that would change everything. Perhaps, quite simply, you can know everyone's perks before/during the game. I HONESTLY do not think that would be bad for the game. Either neutral or good. I can only imagine some silly counterarguments for it. But no good ones. So if you got any, I wanna hear it!
It would just make games kind of boring. Figuring out the cards your opponent holds is a fun part of the game, and there are a lot of perks that require some element of surprise in order to work well - Dark Devotion, Dragon’s Grip, NOED, for example.
If the killer knew whether every survivor had DS or not they could either tunnel to their heart’s content or slug with no fear. You’d never have to consider whether a survivor had Dead Hard or Unbreakable or Soul Guard or whatever. Survivors would never have to worry about Blood Warden or BBQ. Hexes would be totally useless.
It would just make the game way easier which would be good for new players, but would make games more stale for people who’ve been playing for a while. I love getting caught off guard by a perk I didn’t expect, and I love it even more when I figure out the perks the other side is running through reasoning and observation, rather than having the information handed to me.

So i played a couple of purple rank matches, and it has once again proven my stance that DBD past Green ranks is about as fun as having thumbscrews attached and having your best mate take glee in slowly twisting them further
Same stuff every match, SWF with toolboxes, all the gens get done insanely quickly, and every time i chase someone they play super efficiently and if i hit them they generally have Dead Hard and Iron WIll and i lose them
then we get to the chat,
I've had EZ spam today
I've had "get better at the game" thrown my way (like i want to get better if it means i have to deal with Basement-dwelling cretins like you more often)
I've had all sorts of insults that completely ignore the fact that a person playing for fun will never beat a 4man swf with coms and good coordination
So you know what? i ain't partaking in it, i'm playing Depipster for a bit then waiting for the reset next month, how some of you have fun playing at these ranks i have zero clue
(Apologies for ranting, really needed to get that off my chest, i just don't understand how people have fun playing this game and actively making the other side completely miserable, ######### purples, ######### reds, keep me in Greens with some baby survivors i can meme with and i am happy)
EDIT: I didn't think it was possible to see a number going from 8 to 9 to give the same sense of euphoria of getting home from a long day of work and snuggling with some popcorn, a soft blanket and a dog while watching a movie but oh it felt so good
I dunno, I find it pretty fun. I played against mostly reds/purples today, most lobbies had some amount of SWF in there but I didn’t care to ask for details, and I had enjoyable matches. Even playing Blight terribly against a 4 man was fun cause they were all decent and gave me good practice, and we said gg to each other afterwards.
I think I started enjoying the high ranks more once I realised that nobody really cares about me personally, they just want to have fun in the game too, so I work on getting better and just play for fun chases. Then I either say nothing or compliment people post-game. There’s the odd rude person but most people are quite chilled out in my experience.

is it rng for this game to work properly? blinded killer got the blood points for blind but didnt drop . Ive had it happen on both sides killer and survivor... also have had a pallet droped on me get stunned but dont drop survivor????
It’s a timing issue. If the killer is still in the “picking up” animation they won’t drop the survivor, even if it’s the last few frames of the animation. You have to stun or blind them just after they finish it.
-
Trust me, you wouldn’t like 4 Sprint Bursts any better.
-
From killer side I wouldn’t run it, since it’s basically just Bamboozle only it can be deleted at any point in the game. The effect isn’t strong enough to justify it being a hex in my opinion, I’d rather just run Bamboozle and then I can use it when I want.
From the survivor side, I think I’ve played against it once? I didn’t really have a problem with it.

Either they didn’t have it, they weren’t recently unhooked, or you slugged them long enough for the timer to run out. Being healed definitely doesn’t disable the perk.

This is the nerf they should have made. Maybe 20 seconds instead of 30, but they should punish unsuccessful uses of the power, or reward very good plays by survivors with a bit of a breather and a chance to run away before Victor's right on them again. Not punish the Twins for using their power well and getting downs. This design choice makes no sense.
I totally agree. As it is now, crushing him feels like it doesn’t do a lot because he respawns fast and moves fast so he can just be on you again in very little time at all. The change they made just made it feel way more annoying for the person playing them, it didn’t actually address the problem in any meaningful way.

Mhm. I saw. So I'm not taking DS anymore. Might as well nerf self-care next. "Upon starting the use of self-care, if you attempt to heal yourself, self-care will deactivate for the rest of the game." I SEE IT COMING!
I don’t think it’s that big of a deal. If you anticipate being tunnelled (it’s usually easy to tell when it’s coming), just don’t jump on a gen or go for altruistic plays your teammates could do instead. They made it a purely defensive perk instead of people being able to use it aggressively, which I think was a fair change.
-
@Brightened said:
Why is my decisive strike not going off after I get unhooked if I'm within killer's range, and why is it stopping before the time is up? Has anyone else experienced this?
With all the TOXIC killers in this game, this is a STAPLE perk, and it is NEEDED. So I NEED it to work.
DS now deactivates if you:
- Work on a gen
- Unhook another survivor
- Heal yourself or others

Until recently, OhTofu was doing a weekly "Shrine Showcase" series in which he would describe, demonstrate and assess the usefulness of killer perks in the Shrine of Secrets. This was particularly useful for players who still do not have many add-on killers unlocked, but he hasn't posted a new video in over a month. So, I am asking for feedback about Surveillance. Is it worth the shards?
I’m gonna go against the grain and say that I think it’s a mediocre perk that is outshone by many others and not worth unlocking. I wouldn’t waste shards on it, personally.

This has always been the case. If you are Killer and have good Ping, you dont have any advantage, in fact, you have a disadvantage compared to Killers with high Ping.
For me, Pallets behave like normal. I rarely got Hits through it before, unless the Survivor screwed up massively (up to a point where they did not drop the Pallet). But most of the time, I was not able to hit through Pallets, because I have 40 Ping at max. Meanwhile I still get hit by high-Ping Killers during Pallets, like it used to be.
So from my perspective, Pallets are like they have been before they were bugged. But I guess some Killers got too used to just ignoring Pallet Stuns, and calling it a shadow-buff now..
This is my experience too.
Could never normally hit survivors through pallets because I have a ping of 30 and my connection is very stable. Got lots of undeserved hits when pallets were bugged. Since the fix I no longer get undeserved hits, like before the bug. It seems absolutely no different to me.
-
Was rank 1 both sides, dropped to rank 9 survivor and rank 8 killer.
-
Yeah between tracking perks, scratch marks, blood drops, crows, killers having eyes and ears, blood lust, and chase powers and perks, if you get caught ur just bad at survivor obv.
Even the really good SWAT team survivor gods get caught and hooked in most games, you realise. Because the game is designed around survivors getting caught. That’s why they each have 3 hook states, they’re actually meant to be caught multiple times by design.
-
“Any plans to address the grind?”

I only went back to rank 8 so it wouldn’t be much easier, sadly. :(

This is specifically VERY common for plague though. It's not common at all to have your weapon phase through a survivor. This can happen to Plague, with both red and green vomit, every game, multiple times. Huntress hatchets can do the same, but not NEARLY as often as it does with vomit. Vomit was hit the hardest by the server changes and they haven't done anything about it.
It also seems different from other killers because I’ve had it when I’m playing survivor that the Plague pukes, it hits my character fair and square, my character starts coughing and spluttering, and then nothing happens. No infection. That’s never happened to me playing against any other killer power or weapon, just Plague. A fair hit on my screen that is just deleted for god knows what reason. And my ping is always low so it’s not like I’m lagging or anything.

yup Moris are now just a fancy way to kill someone. They don't give you any tactical advantage whatsoever.
I had people DC twice in a row while the match was loading because I played one. and it wasn't even ebony.
I had two killers play them back to back earlier and both tried to mori someone who had only been hooked once, so I assume a lot of people don’t realise they’ve been nerfed.

No, moris are fine now and people who complain about them are being dumb.

Even had one where I got assblasted with a pig wielding noed right at the exit gate.
It's a game that's supposed to be for fun, but somedays man this ######### sucks. I keep playing thinking "The next game might be better?" And it just really isn't. I think I need to take a break.
We all have days like that. Mine was last Sunday, I had god awful games back to back so I just switched off the game for a while. Finding a buddy to play with can help since you can at least commiserate with them.

I used it for my taxi build because it let me slow down things a bit without having to stop the taxi-ing. That said, having the cooldown and the basic attack requirement is silly IMO. I've heard some people say it would be too OP to remove the cooldown because Nurse can just rapid-fire down people to hit the same gens multiple times, but that can easily be fixed by just making it so Surge doesn't affect gens that are already regressing.
Plus if the killer is getting several quick downs back to back in one area of the map the match is pretty much done anyway. Or they could just run Ruin and have the gens constantly regress while they down the whole team. Or have multiple Pops back to back. Not sure Surge would be the problem in that scenario!

It's hard to believe people who say that most games they were camped, tunneled, or slugged.
Not at low ranks. Slugging is non-existent there but camping and tunnelling is rampant. I took a break from the game for a while and got bumped down to like rank 17 survivor and while it was easy for me to rank up and not get tilted due to my experience, I saw a ton of camping and tunnelling.
I’m not talking the extremely loose definition “the killer was brought back to the hook by a stupid teammate” camping or “I ran into the killer after unhook and they downed me again” tunnelling either. I’m talking Wraiths that put a guy on the hook, cloak, and then just stand there until someone saves. Insidious Bubbas. Killers that will beeline after the unhooked guy like every other survivor is invisible. That sort of thing.
I understand why new killers do it but I also understand why new survivors hate it.

The reason he’s so good against average survivors is his teleport, IMO. But then that’s easily dealt with, just split up and he can only teleport to one gen. Unfortunately, nobody bothers to engage in this brainlessly simple tactic so Freddy will continue to be the killer with the highest kill rate.
