Yeah, I mean if we were to compare the best player who plays nurse and the best player who plays Spirit, Nurse is just superior. But, while Nurse requires a certain amount of skill and effort, Spirit requires 0. Anybody can 4k decent teams as a Spirit, whether that person is good or bad.

I feel it's a bit insulting to say she takes 0 skill. You still have to track survivors by sound and scratch marks and make guesses here and there when coming out of phase but for the most part yes, she's an extremely powerful killer that anyone can pick up and get good with fast.

I just don't understand why people say she takes absolutely no skill whatsoever when playing Killer role as any killer requires a lot of you. Way more than it does to play Survivor since you're on your own.

  • It seems silly we're complaining about gen tapping being OP and unfun when literally the same can be said about camping/tunneling.

Both are valid strategies on both sides I don't see much point in complaining since these things are most likely always going to exist and be "problems".

  • Adiris is actually incredibly beautiful..

    .. When she isn't rotting that is ;~;

Also I'm sorry idk why I find Ghostface and Myers oddly attractive. I just think they'd look great without shirts tbh

  • I'm more upset at the fact he didn't get an alternate mori when he's all out of knives similar to Twins with/without Victor.

He could have used his bat to bang the survivors up in a brutal way.

It's one of the worst maps in the game now.

Say what you will about balance; it doesn't matter if the gameplay is stale as hell.

Run to pallet, press space, move to next pallet, press space.

It's honestly not as survivor sided as people think, (Don't get me wrong, it IS survivor sided) because it has so few vaults, lockers, and isn't as big as it looks. Breakable walls tend to create some bad areas for survivors as well forcing them into dead ends.

The vaults it does have however are great and some are outright chase enders, it has 25+ pallets and most are god pallets every spawn, and it makes the map basically just a joke because you HAVE to break almost all those pallets.

This. Without the safe pallets this is a veryyy killer sided map for the most part. It's kind of crazy to think it went from being a rather killer sided map to survivor sided now.

When I'm playing killer on this map I just kind of deal with it though to be fair I play a lot of Hag and Spirit so uh.. It's not as much of a problem for me lol that's no excuse though

  • I can just imagine Alex sandbagging survivors LOL

    @Breque

Camping should be addressed by giving survivors more options outside of perks, and then maybe there wouldn’t even need a reason to suggest that kindred should be built-in. Camping is a problem even in SWF.

Camping (along with other abusive actions) are the common denominator for why people even whine about solo Q.

This. We need to give killers more reason to leave hook.

It's kind of sad how, even with BBQ, Make Your Choice, Pop and the new No Way Out, a lot of killers still resort to camping and tunneling.

There really isn't a way to stop camping or tunneling, if a killer wants to do these they can and will and others will be right there to say:

"iT's A vAliD sTraTeGy LOLLLLL just do gens"

Then complain about gen rushing being a problem

no because when you chase them they'll run to the gate and tap it open. you'll never get them and then they twerk at you.

the EGC timer should start when gens are done in my opinion

    You don't like twerking? 😭

  • I hate the visual I'm getting of Bubba insta downing all the other killers in one fully charged chainsaw sprint lol

So though previous ive Rank1 a few times since all the updates, i seem to be stuck between Rank3 and 4 atm

Wondering if my perk load out is unbalanced

    1) Borrowed Time -Pretty much a given regardless of rank, helps the team if killer is lurking

    2) Kindred -I want them to know if killer is lingering if not on SWF so they can crack on with gens and not run round aimlessly wasting valuable time that could be popping out a couple of gens if killer is still next to me.

    3) Prove ThySelf -Self explanatory, speed up gens or heals if I find another which against high ranks is essential.

    4) Second Wind - Saves on needing someone else to heal me, as a player that has used SelfCare for nearly 5 years This is still in a 'maybe' box

Been playing around with Lightweight/Resilience as the other possibles for 4th perk

Do miss Urban but at higher levels I cant really waste a perk slot with it.

    Any suggestions more than welcome.

I always ask in the lobby (I don't think console players see chat though right? So only if everyone is PC) if anyone else is bringing Kindred and if they say yes, I swap that for something else. No reason for multiple people to bring Kindred really.

BT is essential imo, DS nerf means a lot of people aren't running it right now and BT helps somewhat with tunneling but in general it's just a really solid perk for helping with safe unhooks. Definitely keep that.

Prove Thyself is also amazing and worth keeping.

Second Wind is the only thing I'd swap out, you definitely need an exhaustion perk of some kind. My personal favorite is Lithe but Sprint Burst and Dead Hard are also great.

Other extremely useful perks you could think of running that are universally applicable on any survivor / playstyle:

    • Unbreakable

    • Iron Will

    • Spine Chill

    • Decisive Strike (Debatable)

The problem with reporting is. I never know if it actually works. So I feel like it's sort of pointless. I mean I am sure it works but I feel like it doesn't because of how often I see the toxic side of the community. I played a total of ten games today. About 6 of them had people like what I showed. I only had two that said gg and was not a mean person.

    I agree so much

And fair enough. If that's a reason you enjoy him, more power to you.

I mean he's okay, ultra sweaty Blights can be an absolute unfun nightmare to go against though. Tinkerer is nasty on killers with high mobility like him x.x but this can be said about many killers with similar power like Spirit and Freddy.

  • I either leave lobby asap or just press the little arrow next to the chat box to disable it while I look at my stats.

  • All I will say about the topic of Blight is that there's a lot of nasty Blight mains who have a sort of superiority complex and like to shame other Blight players who don't utilize the j flick exploit/tech whatever you wanna call it.

I can't condone that kind of behavior towards your own people like goodness, grow up and learn how to be nice to your fellow killer players??

Ahem, but yes to echo OP's point I'm not sure I really find Blight entertaining to watch. He's actually kind of fun to go against though (Depending on the map). I rank him up there with Billy in terms of funnest killers to play against bcuz when he zooms at you I jump every and that's fun in this game, actually being scared LOL

  • bcuz David wouldn't hit a girl

  • I really don't get why so many people are against this. I don't think it would be THAT problematic if you could heal yourself and still retain DS.

If not that, at least make it so that DS' timer pauses while being chased similar to Pig's active reverse bear traps. This would make it less likely that DS will wear off after being tunneled off hook by a killer who insists on chasing you and trying to wait out DS.

  • @Grandpa_Crack_Pipe said:

I like how the update that introduces a pallet stun perk is the update that breaks pallet stuns.

    Literally this

  • IRIDESCENT HEAD: PROBLEM

    There fixed that for u

  • Don't listen to Twitter LOL

  • I was playing earlier with a friend and he went for a pallet drop as the killer picked me up and the killer swung as soon as he picked me up and resisted the pallet stun which is just gross sigh

Really hoping they emergency patch this by next week or something. It's an absolute joy utilizing it as killer but it's actually broken being able to swing into pallets without fear of being stunned or like I said above, swinging immediately to nullify a pallet dropped on you while carrying a survivor

  • As someone who plays both sides I think making an Obsession form every match wouldn't be that big of a deal. I'm shocked it isn't a basekit thing tbh

I always hear killers say they don't like it because it 1. gives survivors more info (When Obsession is being chased) and more importantly, 2. discourages tunneling because of possible DS but I don't see a problem with the latter.

If I'm playing survivor and I see Obsession formed I worry about things like STBFL / Dark Devotion but nobody ever talks about that, so I feel the Obsession thing can go both ways for the most part and it's reasonably fair.

As for DS the only thing I can think of to maybe buff it is to make the timer pause when the killer is chasing you similar to active reverse bear traps. As it stands, a killer can tunnel you off hook and wait out DS and still tunnel you so what's the point? This would at least alleviate that problem somewhat but killers can still slug you to make DS wasted.

In that case obviously DS Unbreakable will help you get up but then it's like we're back to Square 1 running DS Unbreakable to counter being tunneled and or slugged.

I feel like there's always going to be problems with all of this lol

  • They're probably like:

"Wow they're ACTUALLY doing side objectives? Have a nice day

  • I can't wait for whatever the key rework is so people can stop throwing around the most ridiculous ideas.

What I hope for is keys to be viable aura reading items without killers being extremely upset at them being used and hatch having more strict spawn condition + unlock animation ot limitation on how many people can leave through it.

I just can't see them removing hatch

  • They be sleepin on Plague, the true Queen of ranged killer goodness 👑🤮💅

I jest somewhat, Huntress can do those insane across the map shots but Corrupt Purge IS crazy in its own unique ways at a more limited range. But yeah! I've noticed a ton of Huntresses tend to be streaming on Twitch as well

  • I usually like Scott's input on things but this felt like a really random topic he just pulled out of literally nowhere.

Felt awkward tbh. I just wish he'd be happy he's actually beyond miserable when he talks about or plays this game like my god man, if you aren't enjoying yourself just play something else. I literally only watch him for his constructive thinking / rework vids of late but actual gameplay feels depressing to watch when all the person does is complain and say how much the game sucks lol

I've not interacted with the dbd subreddit (not sure I want to bcuz I just don't care much for reddit) but I really don't see what the point is of generalizing entire groups of people like he does.

  • If u still want to suicide on hook to give someone the hatch you can just DC and take an actual penalty now + give the remaining survivor and killer a quitter bonus I guess.

I feel like that's actually better bcuz it punishes the people who decide to do it with a DC penalty / eventual ban if they do it too much, no?

Regardless this won't affect me personally bcuz I want all my struggle points lol

  • Hello, it's me a cute survivor.

  • @Yords said:

Adrenaline is a great perk (obviously), but with the DS nerf I feel that it's now the strongest perk survivors have in their arsenal.

Why? Because adrenaline instantly heals them one health state, gives them 5 seconds of sprint burst, wakes them up, can be used when already exhausted, and is saved until you are freed from a hook.

It is a survivor perk that works in the endgame, probably the only one that does.

It is the most powerful survivor perk because it works when the killer is supposed to be at their strongest, when all the pallets are gone and everyone is probably on death hook or injured. It just completely resets you as survivor and is especially good against freddy.

    loving the DS nerf btw

It's definitely up there but if you ask me I think Iron Will is stronger.

Iron Will gives you so value consistently all match long as long as you're injured and there's so many situations where, if you can play without getting hit and against certain killers, it's better to stay injured.

But yeah after the DS nerf I'd say the new Egyptian God card trio is Dead Hard, Iron Will and Adrenaline or Unbreakable.

The only issue I find with Adrenaline is that it does absolutely nothing if you get killed before the last gen pops. It's very comparable to NOED in that way, you're playing without a perk until the final gen pops. The only difference is that Adrenaline rewards Survivors for completing all of their objectives while NOED helps the Killer with late game cleanup / punishes Survivors who didn't cleanse all the totems.

Correct me if I'm wrong but would it be bold to assume NOED somewhat helps counter Adrenaline? Lol

Healing a health state / becoming fully healed won't amount to much if you're exposed, no?

Honestly the only thing I find odd about Adrenaline is how it heals you while on hook. That really doesn't seem right if you ask me. Otherwise I think everything about the perk is perfectly fine.

  • I don't condone "bullying" behavior on either side BUT if a survivor / killer is just trying to "win" or get as many bloodpoints as possible I don't see anything wrong with them trying their hardest. If people want to push themselves to get better at the game there's nothing wrong with that. Both sides have scummy things they can utilize in order to win more (Keys, gen rushing, camp/tunnel/slug etc.). Until these things are updated and or reworked I can't really knock people for using them since they are ALLOWED in the ranked mode we are all forced to play.

Obviously keys, gen rushing, camping, tunneling and slugging are awful but they're allowed so meh

This is coming from someone who plays both sides and tries to be nice and run off meta stuff and I still get a lot of hate from people who just want to be mean I guess.

  • I would simply run Unbreakable

  • I mean, this just means instant hook suicides won't work. A survivor can still miss their skill checks purposely and kill themselves if they want to but yes, no more instant hook suicide which is cool I guess.

I'm just happy I won't have to mash my space bar anymore because ugh my microphone picks that up really loud lol

Speaking as a survivor main, the DS change was needed, for sure. However, it doesn’t do virtually anything to prevent tunneling (not that it fully did in the first place)

I suggest, in addition to the conditions set so far (touching a gen/totem/healing someone/etc), DS should remove its timer and be active indefinitely until another person is hooked. Some killers are completely abusing this nerf lately and negating any of the anti-tunneling purposes of this perk by just going on massive slugfests, and something really needs to change.

While not a perfect solution, I believe removing the timer is completely necessary now that the conditions are more strict. And if you aren’t a tunneler, this change should not face any opposition from you.

Making the timer last indefinitely is not a great idea. The simple solution would be to leave it at 60 second duration but make it pause if the killer is chasing you like Pig's reverse bear trap active timers.

Literally Pig has this feature to discourage tunneling / make sure Survivors don't 100% die to their trap (Though it still can be used to 100% tunnel someone out of the game but that's another subject relating only to Pig), they could apply this interaction to DS and voila.

  • @Eve13 said:

    I consider myself a PigMain.

As a first advice: Respect boop the snoot! XD

So I've gotten as far as the red ranks with her, and I'm doing pretty well with the fact of using whispers so I can time my sneaking well.

You've gotten a lot of good tips here, and all I can say is try them out. Learn how far you can get with their sneak attack, how well you can maneuver with it. Use it only when it's worth it. If you want to try it out and just attack for a test, take Amanda's letter with you.

Use the traps wisely. If you know all survivors are nearby and not working on generators, then downe and wait with the RBT. Use them in the middle part of the game rather than at the beginning.

And please don't become one of those piggies who chase and possibly tunnel people with RBT activated. That makes absolutely no sense. This survivor won't touch your beloved generators unless he has a death wish.

Did I mention that you should definitely respect boop the snoot? <3

Oh, as Perks I take on her mostly:

    Whisper

    dying light

    BBQ (for the points)

    corrupt

Omg of course! I've booped before and had the good graces of a benevolent Pig so I won't disrespect that xD

I REALLY don't like to tunnel / camp people so I'm also excited to use Make Your Choice with her since it encourages leaving hook / going for others. I LOVE Whispers so I think I'll love it on her if you say so. Sadly I don't have as many Killer perks as I do Survivors (I usually play Survivor) so I'll have to work on that some.

But yesss, I'll def try to not tunnel ppl with a bear trap. That just seems scummy ;u; I wanna be jump scare Pig LOL

  • I really wish they'd add a communication wheel for survivors one day.

  • While footsteps may be harder to hear on dirt as opposed to stone / interior maps, remember that grass makes a VERY distinct sound effect when being stepped on.

Grass is a dead giveaway on outdoor maps where footsteps are otherwise softer in dirt. Hope that helps somewhat. Iron Will is incredibly strong.

  • Why are we having this discussion? This feels borderline like bait but regardless.. I highly doubt this is problematic to the point that it's affecting things for killers.

If I safely unhook someone who has DS and I heal them under hook with We'll Make It I don't see why their DS should activate. What if the killer comes back and decides to tunnel them? How can I know that they have DS? There's too many variables and it's better this way because it can't be abused anymore.

  • @KingFrost said:

Pig isn't so much a stealth killer as she is an M1 Killer with a stealth mechanic.

    General Tips:

    • Getting your first down is more important with Pig than it is with any other killers, because that's when she can actually use her power.
    • Don't spend too much time crouched. She moves slower than Nurse while crouched, which -- if you've ever played Nurse -- should tell you why that's a bad idea.
    • Practice the Ambush attack and get a good feel for it. I'd recommend watching Scorpionz to get an idea of what you can do with it. But usually you're just going to crouch at a pallet, fake one way, then go the other to catch the survivor off guard. Or commit to your first direction. Survivors CAN counter this by leaving the loop, but you can also use this to just get those survivors to leave a loop.
    • Video Tape and Combat Straps are probably her most reliable add-ons. They're yellow and brown respectively, so they aren't hard to come by. Tampered Timer is very good, but a little less reliable. Any of the add-ons that add time to searching boxes, or add RBT's or Boxes are good (and are better when combined) but they're also not reliable (Except Bag and Crate of Gears, which are fairly reliable). Pig's traps don't work like any other trap in the game. The box that will unlock the Survivor's head is determined at the start of the game. Many of the skill check add-ons are a detriment to her.
    • Keep in mind that skill check perks and blindness perks do NOT affect Pig's boxes.
    • You can mostly safely ignore survivors with Traps on their heads. If you catch them on a box, you can chase them off. But don't commit to a medium length chase with them, because that's a waste of a trap. If you can down them fast--great! Go for it. But if you can't, then I wouldn't recommend it because time could be better spent. Punish them if they decide to stay at the box, or don't run away.
    • I'd recommend using your traps ASAP. You don't want to end up in a chase with 1 gen left, and have 1 trap--then the last gen pops before you can put it on. At that point it's useless.
    • Save the Best for Last is amazing on her, because her ambush attack does not count as a basic attack. Of course, that means you also can't use it for an insta-down.
    • Hex Perks are pretty good on her, because she creates a secondary objective unlike any other killer. Of course, they're still just as vulnerable as other hex perks for other killers with limited mobility, but Devour Hope can be amazing on her if it's hidden fairly well. By the time you get your third stack and they're made aware of it, only one or two of them will even be able to search for it because the others will be busy getting their traps off their heads.
    • If it's down to one survivor, they may want to Boop your Snoot. Some Pigs let them go. Others murder them. It's up to you which Pig you want to be.

Thank you so much for the detailed advice!!

And thank you to everyone else you're all awesome squeee 🐽

Can't wait to start playing her. One of the reasons she's always intrigued me is that the RBTs are a slow down mechanic which is always appreciated with how fast games can go lol

  • I think they might be referencing David's shirtless skin lol

  • @pigsaag said:

if you have oppression, use it with survelliance. and yes, you can try to predict if he is going to rescue. but be careful, don't stand at middle down animation, otherwise bt will activate. wait until you see the survivor touching the ground. also i forgot to mention, when you are near someone in the crouch, stand instead of using the ambush. it's faster and you will get an easy hit or even a grab if the survivor is distracted.

    *takes notes*

Okay one last question, what add ons do you recommend for her?

  • As a Plague main I especially hear you.

Nothing is worse than an entire charged up stream of vile/corrupt purge not registering as hits because of a server issue.

  • @Yords said:

The best advice I can give you without getting too into it is to not overuse your crouch. Only use the crouch ability when you know exactly where survivors are, use it as an ambush.

This will work well with tracking perks that lets you see survivors on gens, or nurses calling (with sloppy for good measure).

I unfortunately don't have I'm All Ears but it sounds like it would be super good on her with her ambush. I'll definitely keep all this in mind about ambushing.

    @pigsaag said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/240394/pig-mains-i-need-your-advice

i am a piggy main and i can give you advice. first use survelliance. that perk is gold, use stbfl. and whatever two perks you like. now, use the traps to slow down the game, ignore if there are 5 gens or not. their only use is to slow the game. don't use her crouch nor ambush. also crouch when a survivor is going to rescue, slug the hooked person and chase the rescuer. this will help you with the time. if you want to use the crouch, i recommend you use whispers. use tier 2 if possible, or if you see someone in a box with bbq. there isn't much else i can tell you, hope this helps you. good luck

Okay ty for all of this. Unfortunately I don't have stbfl I know it's really good on Pig tho bcuz of her ambush special attack ><

I'm super excited to use surveillance, I was thinking of pairing it with pop since I have that and, surveillance only works on gens you've kicked, right?

Does crouching when they unhook someone disable BT? If you did it fast enough for your terror radius to shrink that is

  • I've literally had killers tell me in end game chat that I'm a great looper when I use this perk and I'm just like nooo I'm literally bad windows just carries me to the pallets LOL

But yesss, it's especially helpful for showing me vault locations so I can get my Lithe off.

Honestly I love love love this perk so much even if it is a little crutch-y like Spine Chill. It is an absolute godsend for me bcuz I'm still a bit new to the game (been playing half a year now).

  • @Yords said:

The most disappointing one for me was pyramid head. Like sure, the metal coming up from the ground is cool, but the barbed wire that curls around is just really cheesy, same thing for when he twists the knife in the survivors chest. Since there is no gore, the twist is just dumb imo.

The best one is the Oni's, for obvious reasons.

    I feel this! I actually much prefer Final Judgment to his actual mori because there's something surreal about him just slamming the blade on the survivor on the ground and then leaving their lifeless body behind ;-;

The actual mori is so corny lol

  • @ALostPuppy said:

GhostFace and Hag are the best, plague's is probably third imo. I really like the ######### slap at the end of her Mori after she fills you with her vomity goodness

This LOL idk why but I just lose it when I see Plague moris or use it myself (Plague main here <3).

My favorite moris: Plague, Spirit and Ghostface

Absolute least favorites: Clown, Deathslinger and Oni

They're a bit too brutal for me, especially Clowns is really disgusting to me. Just everything about it. Same with Oni, basically any mori with actual dismembering of any kind really grosses me out bcuz I don't wanna see my favorite survivors get killed like that TuT

  • I like the idea of the perk, specifically vaulting faster as killer because usually, you don't want to vault as killer. Takes too much time unless you're mind gaming.

But the much more powerful and notable effect where it blocks off the window you vaulted.. Yeah that's why people run it, obviously. It's insanely strong. Bamboozle straightup forces shack pallet or forces survivor to move away from it if they don't want to use it.

I wouldn't have a problem with it so much if it wasn't exclusively used on Billy and Bubba. Well, mainly Bubba

  • Lithe (My favorite exhaustion perk), Windows of Opportunity (Helps me since I've been playing under a year), Borrowed Time (To help counteract tunneling) and Spine Chill (Great all around perk to have).

I also love We're Gonna Live Forever, We'll Make it and Dance With Me but it's hard to only pick a few for a dedicated build lol.

Windows of Opportunity is seriously amazing. I've had killers tell me post match that I'm really great at looping and I'm like literally im baby and windows just carries me LOL

  • I was a little surprised at it's cooldown when I first saw it.

Idk I'm just shocked an Exposed perk has such a short cooldown when other killer perks with weaker effects have MUCH longer cooldowns. There's a lot of killer perks I wish had a slightly lower cooldown tbh

  • Thankfully this kind of change will probably never happen. Seems like too much for BHVR to try and do and I doubt very much they'd want to make a change like this anyhow as it would punish survivors for quite literally no reason.

I could get behind this idea MAYBE if every single map was balanced towards both sides and had reasonable pallet/windows everywhere but if you implemented this system on certain existing maps with dead zones you would just die to the killer faster that doesn't really seem like a great idea to me.

Like I get that this would make more sense but it also comes with a massive host of problems I don't think it would be good at all at least for survivors.
