When I purchased hag with iri shards I was a bit sceptical. The only killers I could buy were clown, blight, hag and twins. I didn't want the twins cuz I found her play style to be boring, and clown was pretty weak. So I was between blight and hag. I had ruin on hag already, so I was leaning towards blight perkwise. But because of my pc fps drops, I decided to go with hag. And oh my, I don't regret a thing.
I've been playing hag for a month, and she's just so fun to play as. Her traps are so strong when placed correctly and you get rewarded for predicting the survivors. Unlike trapper she can use her traps on almost every loop and be effective, whilst having incredible map pressure, even tho she's a 110% ms killer. Unlike spirit she actually has obvious weaknesses and she requires a lot of map knowledge to be effective.
I'm basically half way through being a hag main (I've been shittalked for playing hag, so that's a good sign :p ). I just don't get why she's so hated by the community. Playing against a flashlight squad is a nightmare, and whenever you pick someone up you always get trap notifications because the OoO user starts to step on your traps.
If I had to guess it's because hag players usually trap the hooked person, that's true I also do that. But again, I think she's pretty counterable if you find a flashlight or have kindred/OoO.
So, why is she so hated? And as a bonus question, any tips when playing as hag? Could use some. Let me know below.
Tip: reset tripped traps often.

So... this is kind of a vent post but also a small piece of advice to any survivor players who happen to read this. Coming from another (mostly) survivor main.
I was playing Plague last night, got matched against a 3-man SWF (Nea, Meg, Felix) + a random Bill. Got sent to Shelter Woods, which I generally find a good map for killer (somewhat) but honestly pallet/tile RNG screwed me over. I'll let you know why in a bit.
The match started kind of awkward because I started chasing Felix and I immediately noticed he was competent in chase. He knew he was playing against a Plague so he did everything possible to avoid my puke and managed to do so for a while. At some point I get him, hook him, and then the match continues (it takes me a bit long to get this done but well). I manage to get both Meg and Nea at least once, and easily catch Bill a couple of times because he was clearly less experienced than the others, thus made lots of mistakes. At some point the Bill is dead. Great. Worth pointing that Nea and Meg were hooked in between the Bill hooks, so no tunneling here at all.
Then the remaining survivors manage to have only one gen left. Right before this, I had managed to catch Felix again (notice that right after I hook him there's only one gen left, because he looped me for a while). He is unhooked and I decide to go back to the hook to chase whoever unhooked him.
The problem? Nea and Meg were absolutely healthy. And not only that, but they sprint-bursted the ######### away, leaving Felix MUCH closer to me. I tried to chase one of the other girls but they were literally in Narnia. So I'm like yeah well ######### this and decide to go for Felix, who is injured and closer to me. Then I get looped for centuries, the dude got from jungle gym into jungle gym into another structure, all filled with pallets ---this is why I say that RNG screwed me over, because most times I play in this map there's literally nothing out there except for a couple of pallets and maybe a jungle gym or two. The other girls manage to finish the last gen, and get to the doors. By this point, the Felix started pointing at me and teabagging at every pallet. I made lots of mistakes, the last one costing me the kill because I lost him like a dumbass and he managed to get to the door. I could have played a lot better, I should probably have dropped the chase since he was the best player in the team (Nea and Meg weren't as bad as Bill, but way easier to catch than this guy). But this is not an "omg survivors op pls nerf" post, so the amount of mistakes I made is only relevant to me so I can improve in the future lmao.
Now, you can imagine what the post match chat with these three was like (Bill was long gone and I think he was in console so yeah). They were so angry about me "tunneling". It was pretty awful at first, then after insulting me for a bit they were all gone but Nea. I told her to tell her friend that I didn't want to "tunnel" him, but if she and Meg never let me chase them, either by going stealthy or sprint-bursting into Narnia, I have little to no choice but to follow the dude that is close to me and that I can actually see. She said she was reading so I choose to believe that she actually told her teammates this. Whatever they said about this, I will most likely never know.
I know what tunneling is. Approximately 80% of my hours in DBD are survivor hours, and I have been tunneled countless times. I despise tunneling, so I try to never do it (I may have tunneled an OoO player once or twice though, I admit, but aside from that I never do it, no matter if it's a valid strategy or not). Chasing the only dude you can find is not tunneling. If you, as a survivor, unhook your teammate and decide to run away without even trying to heal him (not effective against Plague of course, but I'm speaking in general lmao), or decide to stealth your way around the map without ever taking the aggro, of course that the killer is going to follow your recently unhooked teammate, because this game is about time efficiency and you can't go around wasting time looking for other people when you have someone right there in front of you.
Just putting it out there because I needed to vent but I also believe this serves as good advice for survivor players. I have played a lot of matches where everyone is dead and when I find the last guy he has never been hooked, because I haven't even seen him all match. So if you have a teammate who is dead on hook (and specially if he's your SWF buddy!!! you're friends!!! pls care about your friends at least), maybe trade some hook states and give the killer a chase instead of offering him as bait? This dude yesterday got out because he was very good at looping, RNG was awful and I'm not the greatest Plague player of all time (it's the first time I play her since like... April last year maybe lmao). But against more competent killers, that survivor is going to die, most times.
That's it. If anyone reads this, thank you for bearing with me. I wish you some awesome matches tonight, and whatever opinion you have about this I shall listen.

This idea has already been mentioned before, but there should be a seperate gamemode for 2 killers & 6 survivors on a huge map. This would be absolute chaotic fun and would make the game 10x more scarier.
Imagine an Oni in Blood Fury chasing you & while you're running to a jungle gym, you run into a Deathslinger on accident. Obviously if both killers team up on you it can be seen as unfair, but that's why there would be 6 survivors instead of 4 with more potential saves and people on gens.
Speaking of gens, they should obviously be a bit slower than what they are today because there would be 6 survivors. If I were the devs, I would nerf gen speeds when the killer is in a chase, but otherwise they stay the same.
If people are worried about queue times because current ones are already long enough, devs can just slap a bloodpoint bonus onto it and people will definitely play it more often. One thing I want to get clear is that you cannot queue up with your friend as killers, and you cannot have a SWF with more than 4 people. The point of this is to keep it very similar to the regular DBD gamemode, but just slightly tweaked.
Thoughts?

That's not a penalty system for survivors giving up on hook, it's a penalty system for BHVR. If they do what you ask many people will stop playing the game, costing them money from future DLCs and skins.
So it will never happen.

There is no reason that the game should have gone this long without colorblind settings, especially for the way the game is structured and with how much important information is in the color red such as auras and icons.
So please, BHVR. We need them, and the 1st step to know we are getting them or making progress to getting them is to acknowledge your communtiy.
Off topic but have you heard of Enchroma glasses? It corrects colour blindness for many people. Bad game design or not I'd drop a few hundred bucks on them if I had this condition.

They are way too slow. They make Burger King Myers seem like double speed Blight. Double engravings Billy. Spirit with the best speed add-ons. They do balance the game they've changed DS. Mettle of Man they changed it. They added exhaustion to help out. They've made perks better. They've made low tier killers viable Freddy, Doctor, and Bubba use to be unviable now they can be competitive at high ranks. The true problem is it took them such a long time to fix the things that need to be fixed. And then they'll rush things that don't need to be fixed. And that time in between is awful to go through.
As you mentioned, yes, a lot of improvements have been doing. I can can see this taking up much of their time. I give credit for that, for coming up with with solutions.
What i notice having taken this past year off the game is that new problems keep cropping up. It seems logical that the solution would be for these big problems not to be made in the first place to avoid re-work.
Every chapter brings many new bugs. Characters are no longer ready coming out of PTB. Major updates are not fully tested before getting to the customers. It appears that things go wrong faster than older ones get corrected.
I'm hoping a DBD2 comes out some day that is easier to scale up and balance without the issues. If it's not their code that's the underlying problem then it's their people.

Honestly thought that this newest update was one of the most exciting and healthiest in a while. Pumped to have it released to consoles.
I get the idea that this is the straw that broke the camel's back for this guy. The HUD change and perk nerf were not in and of themselves what aggravated him, but a continuation of a pattern he's seen. That's the obvious take, not what you took out of it.

There’s no need to be so vitriolic.
What people don’t remember is that BHVR is a, to put it mildly, small company. Their portfolio of games isn’t exactly impressive. It’s not as simple as just changing a line of code and pressing save. Not only do they have to invest time into concepts, the programming team has to invest valuable time and effort into implementing it without creating more unexpected bugs.
Your particular list of complaints is probably on their to-do list. But keep in mind that they are small and can’t address everything. It is unfair to them to be so vituperative on such a matter.

When is this perk going to be fixed? It is intended as a defensive perk for survivors when a killer tunnels them. As such, it is essentially an ''anti-tunnel'' perk yet it benefits the survivor even outside this context.
I propose these changes for the perk, in order to ensure it stays in the role of ''anti-tunnel'' and not ''anti-momentum'' or 60 seconds of invincibility:
1) Decisive Strike immediately deactivates upon another survivor being hooked. The killer directly chasing, downing and hooking another survivor (even if it's within a minute) is not considered ''tunnelling'' and thus, DS should deactivate.
2) As a defensive perk, it should allow a survivor a chance to escape and regain their bearings (i.e escape, heal). As such, any aggressive actions such as: unhooking other survivors, repairing generators, or stunning the killer immediately deactivate the perk.
3) Should a survivor hide inside a locker and be picked up, Decisive Strike's effectiveness will be weakened by 50% (to 2.5 seconds of stun). As this strategy ensures a stun, it is reasonable for the strength of the strategy to be weakened.
Thoughts? I'm pretty adamant on the first two being absolute. Perhaps the third one is negotiable... but then again hiding inside a locker with no counter play isn't entirely fair.
In Soviet Russia you don't nerf DS, DS nerf you.

@ClickyClicky said:
1) No. I’ll give an example...
Survivor is on hook. Killer is proxy camping or whatever. Second survivor goes for unhook before second stage. Hillbilly comes sprinting across, or Leatherface comes out of insidiuos, instadowns second survivor, hits down first, hooks fresh survivor, now first survivor goes back on hook again.
These kinds of situations happen. Killers with instadowns that camp could benefit greatly from this idea. Right now DS is the only way you can ensure you get out of the basement, since you can’t guarantee the other survivor will be running BT.
2) Partly agree. Survivors shouldn’t be cocky enough to go gen rush. At that point they aren’t being tunneled. Not sure if I agree about unhooks again due to campers but at the very least there should be a limit on how much they can do.
3) Undecided either way. Sometimes its exploited, other times the killers deserve it based on the way they play.
Clicky finally got banned?

I'm sure there's countless threads discussing voice chat in DBD. So let's make another.
Post game voice chat should be added because it allows survivors and killers to hash out any frustration they could have then and there. No going to the forums and crying, no seething reddit posts, just good ol fashioned online voice chat. Why would this help? From experience, the frustration I feel after hard games comes from the fact I can't communicate with anybody after it's all said and done. So I'm left with my emotions which simmer and boil, they don't have a healthy means of expression, making me usually quit for the night and play something else. I'd rather keep playing the game but if my negative emotions hinder my ability, then there's no point. It would be much more fun for both sides if a post game voice chat were an option and you could say about anything to the other side. Shame them for camping, congratulate them for a hard fun game, make new friends, make fun of them or make fun of yourselves.
People can learn to have fun again if you let them.
Literally the worst idea for this game.

When I used to play this game still I'd go back and watch twitch if there was a streamer in my match l, to see how it went from their pov.
I ran Tinkerer on Clown and the player said he was going to report me for hacking if I didn't have it in my perk layout at the end of match.

But hey, that's just my opinion. If you're mad about whatever is going on with the new chapter you shouldn't keep posting the same ######### over and over again on the forums since I think that they got your message. Positive reinforcement is way better than complaining in the forums.

Red rank killer (and survivor) here. The competitive scene of this game can be unforgiving. You win some and you lose some, but every now and then, human nature comes into play. I am 1 match into my current play session and I feel like getting off. Why? Because playing killer + toxic SWF = zero fun. I try to ignore it, and tell myself to just play for fun, but it doesn't work. If there is no chance of winning, I'm not having fun. That is especially true when sadistic people, who use this game as an online bullying tool, have to rub salt in the wound. When winning isn't enough for you, you've got a problem.
But my biggest issue is: where's the pushback? As individual players, all we can do is ignore the toxicity. Toxic people will be toxic, but maybe there would be less of them if they were at least told that what they're doing is wrong.
To my knowledge, the devs haven't said a word about unsportsmanlike behavior, despite the useless in-game report feature. Why not? Do they approve of it or what? Because frankly it's pushing longtime players, as well as new ones, away from the game. These toxic players, confident in knowing that their behavior is a back burner issue to the devs, if even that, is ruining this game and it's image.
So I say: If toxicity is wrong, let's hear it. Give us something.
Turn off your end game chat. Fixed.

Hey, survivor main here. (Don't worry, I'm not here to whine about how unfair and unbalanced everything is like every other survivor main.)
I've been maining survivor for well over a year now, but always REALLY struggle with killer. I know things aren't always stacked against killers like a lot of people like to think, because while I usually stay about rank 5-6 as a survivor. I'm no good in a chase and usually don't survive.
I'm also really bad at chasing as killer. I'm easily looped and usually can't keep up with half the survivors I chase. I refuse to camp, slug or play in a toxic way. I also get really embarrassed when I'm doing bad as a killer, and sometimes throw an easy kill just so I don't get matched with higher ranked survivors. Overall I just get into a self-defeating mindset that I know isn't healthy.
TLDR of it, I could use some good advice on keeping a good mindset while playing killer. What advice helped you killer mains improve at chases? What tactics do you use to turn around a bad round?
Slugging takes some of their attention off gens and creates new opportunities to find those coming in for the save.
Since you are newer a tracking with like whispers will help you find them dinner throughout the game.
The big thing for me when I got better was picking up small details like distant scratch marks and crouching. Anything to find them sooner and cut them off when they run away.
For practice, go ahead and skin one or two players at a time, ignore hooking, and engage in disrupting those still standing. Get practice at snowballing your attacks on them. Survivors are surprisingly altruistic for the points and will run into you more when you keep knocking them down and patrol the gens.

So, I'll start this off by saying I'm 19, and I'm very new to games and, y'know, life. I haven't had it very easy in life and have always looked towards the positives, and I have noticed so much negativity in the world and especially in video games. This community has people getting mad over basic perks, people playing in order to provoke others, and the forums having lots of less than civil debates. I know that every game has people who use homophobic, racist, offensive slurs, but my goodness it doesn't make it okay. I don't care if this post is closed or I get banned for this, because I will always advocate for being a decent human being. There is a person on the other side of the screen, many LGBTQ+ people play this game, people of color, EVERYONE plays this game and I'm disgusted by the negative and offensive comments I see. Call me any name you want, tell me all the games that have this happen, etc. but what's your argument? Excusing disgusting behavior or ignoring it? I like bringing joy and fun to the forums, but I have seen an endless stream of 'I hate players who use [character/perk/item]' or 'People who play like this suck' and it just adds fuel to the fire. I think what really tipped me off recently was in regards to Freddy's backstory and a user saying that we should feel bad for OP not liking a horrific fact of life in an 18+ game. Have some sympathy ffs, I usually put a smiley face or exclamation points in my posts but I'm really, truly disgusted by this mentality. Empathy should be a normal response to things like that whether it's in a game or in the real world. I also am not making this post based off of one comment from recent memory, because I've encountered this stuff in every game and I'm probably just screaming into the void, but I'd rather get this off my chest. If you read this far, thank you for coming to my TED Talk on respecting others lol

I’m a rank 9 killer on Xbox (pls don’t bully I’m trying to get a pc) with about 200 hours on the game and recently the matchmaking has gotten really bad with actually putting me against opponents of the same skill level as me. I played about six games today, and every single one was against a 4 stack of red rank survs, with a few purple ranks in there. It’s annoying to go into a game expecting a casual match only to be sent to Haddonfield and have a gen done in the first 20 seconds. Again, I’m only a rank 9 killer, so why doesn’t the game put me against green ranked survivors? I’m not a red ranked killer, so why do I have to deal with red ranked survivors who are leagues ahead of me in terms of skill?

You can't get games where all the teammates are the same rank, statistically unlikely. Do you wind up against teams with both strong and weak players.

Honestly, I feel like it'd still be pretty niche. The most commonly run Aura perk is BBQ and having your Aura hidden every time it activates doesn't seem to me like it would compete with most of the meta perks for a slot.
Some crazy stealth Blendette might get tons of value from this buffed version of Distortion. But most of the Iron Will, Dead Hard, Decisive Strike and Unbreakable tryhards probably wouldn't even consider using it for a second.
That change would create more facecamping as an alternative to heading to unhooked survivors.

Devs, you have made many changes in this game without telling us anywhere, without letting the community discuss about the changes before you made them live.
For exemple, you have changed the generators' sound when they are being repaired, it's a killer buff, there was no info about it anywhere.
Also, you have changed the falshlights. It's almost impossible now to do flashlight saves. The timing has changed, the way to aim with it has changed and now the ray is not tightening sometimes even though you are on the killer's head. Again, no info about it, just silence.
Just played a game against a Freddy, you have changed the fake pallets color for him, again no information about it.
You do some small killer buffs here and there without communicating about it. The info is nowhere, there is clearly a lack of transparency as you know some ppl will disagree about some design choices you make.
I have stopped to play this game for 1 year, i can't imagine how many changes you have made without announcing them officialy.
It's crazy as it's the first time, as a gamer, that i see a company hidding things to the community.
What's the point of open communication when the community acts the way it does?

And every game i always end up with a 0k game.
Buff legion again, make legion great again!
I won't be trying to change anyone's mind with that insulting thread title. Act more mature.

The teams working on new content would still continue to work on new content, such a chapter would basically just mean they are skipping a content chapter and nothing more.
instead of asking for a health chapter (which would have no effect in the long run whatsoever, because new bugs that occur after that and so on) ask for expanded QA team and processes generally and not only for 1 chapter.
New chapters = new bugs

Oh no, I can't easily counter a balanced killer! Nerf it into the ######### ground because I can't change my playstyle or loop efficiently!
Do you even read? The OP says it's because of his or her pc slowing down against Doc.

It's common sense that the game is unbalanced towards killer's side, so what's your opinion if they had a fifith perk slot as a trying for balance both sides?
Four survivors, four perks.

Before crossplay came to DBD I loved playing killer. While yes it was harder to control the killer and performance issues were a problem, I really enjoyed killer and would win frequently enough.
Then crossplay came, and as a survivor I really liked it. There isn't that much difference between a PC or console survivor and I did enjoy going against Huntresses and Nurses more often. However, on the killer side the game became much more infuriating.
There are FPS issues on Switch and it's quite easy to miss an attack if a survivor tries to juke, but Switch survivors also share the same performance issues and controls so it's not that bothersome. However when going against PC players with 60 fps and tighter controls those missed attacks are punished more severely. Plus I feel they're able to take loops more tightly than I can which makes downing them even more difficult combined with the FPS and difficulty landing attacks. I went from winning most games to losing most of them and even when I did win I was always so stressed that I never enjoyed the victory. Then you get the teabagging survivors as a little cheery on top.
So today I turned off crossplay and for the first time in a while I enjoyed a match of killer. The survivors were good players but I never felt like I couldn't catch them due to them having better controls or performance. It finished in a 3K with 2 gens but they were close to being done. The queue was instant as well so it's not like crossplay decreased queue times. I enjoy feeling like I had a chance for the first time in a while.
I'll probably turn off crossplay when I play killer from now on, which is a shame because I would like to play against survivors from consoles. However I feel like I can't compete against PC survivors due to my platform holding me back. Of course if they do improve the console experience I might turn it on again.
Sorry for this long and ranty post but I needed to get this out of my system. Are any other Switch killers fairing better than me? Maybe PS4 and Xbox killers are handling it better due to having a higher framerate than Switch.
This game is awesome.
