Yeah and Huntress is the only killer that's able to hit you while not being close so what's your point? Each killer is unique in their power and that's what makes them and their playstyle different from one another. If Doc manages to pull a 3 gen strat on you then you and your team screwed up heavily and you deserve to lose. Also putting survivors into madness 3 adds some extra time to the chase and the snapping out of it isn't even that long and the skill checks are a complete joke. You're acting like you stay in tier 3 permanently when in reality it's a pain in the ass for Doc to manage to even put 2 survivors in tier 3 at once.

You are literally complaining about Doc's only way to redeem himself as a killer. If you were able to do usual actions in tier 3, then what even is the point of his ability at all?

Huntress's power doesn't stop you from being able to do things though. You can still do gens, vault windows, and heal. Not being able to heal is a big deal when someone gets slugged. It's basically a permanent slug if you are in madness 3. And it's not hard at all for a Doc to keep your madness up enough to stop you from doing really important stuff like Mending or healing a slug, especially with add-ons.

No other killer outright stops you from doing things. Doc is the only one that does this and he is the only one that can legit hold a game hostage at 3 gens for as long as he likes. And yea, on most maps a 3 gen setup is survivors fault, but a lot of Docs like to offer Game where you can 3 gen very easily and it's near impossible to avoid.

Also I guess you missed the part where I said I'm okay with BUFFS to Doc if it means that you can actually do stuff like heal or Mend. Otherwise it's just a really lame experience for survivors because you can't do anything, especially when you NEED to do something. Devs said they don't like mechanics that take away control from the player, yet Doc does EXACTLY that.

As for defensive play being looked down upon mentioned above I would also add... one of the emblems for killers is gate keeper. It is achieved by preventing the gates being powered 10 mins or not being finished. We also have killers (like the hag) designed for defensive play styles. To say defensive play is a poor style means certain killers should be removed and some of the emblem system is counter productive.

Never said defensive play isn't viable, I'm saying that it shouldn't be the go to strategy because it is ultimately done from a losing position (eg. when gates are open and you have no kills). You can't win against good players by playing defensively, at least not entirely, you have to be offensive in order to win. Doing stuff to slow the game down is no inherently defensive. If you play Billy or Huntress you can start slugging to slow the game down like crazy, but that requires you to find and catch survivors, in other words playing offensively. Hag has a strong defense no doubt, but if you set up all your traps and just camp anyway the other survivors rush gens and escape, so you lose. What you should do is get a hook, trap it, then go looking for another survivor. If someone hits the trap you put down THEN you play defensively because now you have the option to do so. You can't play defensively and succeed if there is no one to defend against (ie. no one comes to save).

This is a different matter, I would like to think... (though don't believe it) that people do this. I know I have dragged survivors tot he trap door before, and purposely played poorly when I run into survivors where I can tell a large discrepancy in skill. Ironically usually when I do this I get the EZ insults at the end of the match for any good will I show if they get out. For me at least given how very toxic this community is, I can see how many killers and survivors take the root of "bully" by showing no quarter.

Yea the bullying aspect of playing fair is lame I will admit. Which is often why I go out of my way to make it CLEAR that I am playing fair and/or giving freebies. If survivors think that they somehow did something to outplay me I'm sure they would throw it in my face. If I catch someone and decide to slug I will do it in a context where there isn't even another survivor nearby I'm going for. I just leave them on the floor and walk away. Or I will see someone going for a save and just let them while going to kick gens or pallets. I look at the guy, make sure he KNOWS I see him, then ignore him anyway. That way he won't think that he outplayed me with stealth and that I let him make the save. Generally it works out for me. But I can understand not wanting to give freebies if it means survivors trash you post game. That still does not refute any of my previous points as it comes down to if you know this person or if you expect them to be toxic after the game.

  • @Mister_Holdout I don't disagree that Ruin is the perk to use to slow the game down, my point is that it's pointless if you are a good Nurse. AFAIK most if not all of the top streamers/YT'ers that play killer don't use Ruin on Nurse because it's overkill. Like you could make the same argument for NOED as you can Ruin for any killer, Nurse included, but it doesn't change the fact that NOED Nurse is for those that lack skill. Nurse is good enough to play without either of these perks.

Also, to make a point, you can use Ruin and still get gen rushed if the survivors are good at hitting skill checks. I know I've had games with Ruin where 3 gens still get done in the first chase, and it wasn't even that long of a chase either. On top of the fact that good survivors know all the totem spawns (even the new ones since the last update) just proves further that Ruin or not, if survivors want to gen rush they will gen rush.

Again I never said you can't play well as Nurse without Shadowborn. But it makes up for the few weaknesses she has and can help you play that much better with her. Ruin doesn't offer that, it just passively slows down the game IF the survivors aren't good enough to counter it, and if that's the case you probably don't need it anyway. You only need it, ironically, against the ones that do know how to counter it because those are the games you want to slow down (but as it doesn't really help it's a bit of a moot point).

I just finished a game where I had to search around the last 3 min to find the last person. 3 gens to do. They let one guy just die on the first hook and then just hide. They didn't touched any gens. Thanks to surveillance I am 100% sure about that and after finding one guy and slugged him. I searched the map for 2 min until the poor man bleed out on the floor and the other one just hide to get the hatch. Both only played for the hatch.
    This isn't funny.

Can't there be a mechanic that punishes the survivors when noone is touching a gen for over 2 min?

Just kill the slug then? I don't get why killers will slug then camp the slug as if to think all survivors are THAT stupid to make a save. No, survivors will see you camping the slug and know there is no way to save them without both of you dying. Just take the 3k (if you let them bleed out you don't get points for that it's only a 2k) and try to hunt down the last guy. Or leave the slug to go find the last guy so they are more likely to make a save.

It's hilarious how killers pull this BS then act like the victims. You have all the power in the world to just end the game right now. Slug if you want the 4k, but understand when it's not going to work and just take the 3k.

    @George_Soros said:
@thesuicidefox : yeah I understand even the possibility of the hatch standoff is a sign of somewhat poor design, but I can't see a way around it (which doesn't mean there isn't one).
However, what do you think about this: the only thing that I find really stupid is the BP reward for a Hatch escape. If anything, braving the remaining 1-2 generators when you're alone should be rewarded, instead of being lucky and stumbling upon the hatch. That extra 2K BP makes no sense at all. I'd very much like to have it removed.

Look at the link I posted above. It solves hatch standoff and makes the hatch mechanic more interesting. Again only necro if you like it, we don't need to resurrect a dead thread just to bash it.

    @Poweas said:
No, stupid. Adrenaline is the survivors NOED. It doubles the amount of hits u take to get down and NOED halves it. Stop complaining about the hatch. Slug for your 4 man or stop thinking your entitled to a 4 man. Honestly.

Actually it's not. Adren is a reward for playing well, were NOED is a consolation for losing. Also Adren procs once the instant the last gen pops. NOED is active until the totem is gone. That could be 0 hits or it could be 10. If you have Adren but you're not injured and not in a chase with the killer at end game it is basically a wasted perk slot. NOED on the other hand is only a wasted perk slot if the trial doesn't even get to end game, and even then you still win so it's kind of irrelevant.

  • I call BS on it because it gives Doc a free BT counter on top of the free slugs he already gets because you can't heal a slug in madness 3. Not to mention he already has a very strong tool to counter hook saves (shocks).

I keep saying Doc is a broken unfun mess that needs a rework but no one wants to listen. It's outright stupid that he can stop you from doing things during the game to Snap Out. It's part of the reason he's the only killer than can legit stall a game at 3 gens indefinitely. No other killer can do this even if they run the same perks on Game and survivors 3 gen themselves (which on that map is almost guaranteed because of how small it is).

And NO, I do not think Doc is OP and YES I understand that he isn't a very strong killer. I'd be willing to buff him in other areas to make him more viable IF it means taking away this kind of BS where you literally just cannot do anything you need to do. No other killer does this, you can heal or do gens no matter what, but Doc can just make you not do it and hold the game hostage.

Doc needs a rework. Remove this sort of BS and make him stronger elsewhere (increase range/speed of shock for example).

    @SnakeSound222 said:
This is good. Makes tier 3 more useful and helps prevent unsafe unhooks. Besides it was kind of the same thing before the buff, except you just had to SC, something that you couldn't do in tier 3 anyways.

Dude STFU, madness 3 is already insanely useful. Can't do gens. Can't heal. Can't use items. Constantly revealing your position. Waste time to Snap Out. That is plenty useful, and it ruins the game. I'd almost rather play against a FMT Legion than a Doc going for 3 gen, because at least the Legion game will end in 10 minutes or less.

  • @Roobnus said:
Secondly, you literally said in the post above that it's ez af to maintain those offerings and add-ons, but now you say that you can see how you might run out of them?

Actually I say in the first post that you would need to play some games once in a while WITHOUT the OP stuff to make up the BP difference. If you play EVERY GAME with them yea you could potentially run out, but considering how much BP you would earn the ROI from those games player will be enough to sustain you for some time. Hence why I said...

    Good reading comprehension though 👍

Maybe instead of nitpicking imaginary contradictions because you failed to read the entire post you should see what my point is: IF YOU WANT TO YOU CAN HAVE A NEAR ENDLESS SUPPLY OF OP ADD-ONS/MORIS. I know @ScottJund has made this statement too in the past regarding pink hatchets, maybe he can come here and correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure he would agree with me that it's easy AF to get enough of them to play almost every game using them .

Every killer could run Ebony Mori so we should be balancing around that as well.

Ebony mori is a UR blood web item and can not be maintained every match by virtue of the cost and scarcity. Try again.

I p3'd my Spirit and I'm still dumping BP into her for all the perks. I have 30+ Prayer Beads and 25+ pink moris. Once I get all the perks I'm positive I could get at least a green or pink mori per bloodweb, and with BBQ I can play 1 game and get an entire blood web (or most of it). I also have something like 25+ pink hatchets on my Huntress. So no, they are easy AF to get and maintain if you are willing to dump your BP into a killer that already has every perk, and are willing to play a game here and there without it to get some extra BP for the next web.

    Interesting.

Can you teach me how you get through a whole lvl 50 bloodweb with only ~60k points? Also considering that the mori alone costs 8'000 bloodpoints and you'll need somewhat strong add-ons aswell to be able to deal with SWFs.

That means you not only get an ebony mori each bloodweb, you also get good add-ons in each blood web and you can maintain both those add-ons and that ebony mori with the bloodpoints you earned for a single match?

    If that's true, I'm truly impressive.....which I'm not, because I know it's bullshit.

I mean if you are so desperate for kills that you spam your best stuff every game regardless I can see how you might run out of this stuff. If you actually reserve it for when you feel you need it, no you could never run out. I can literally play 20 games in a row with OP add-ons and a pink mori, and get back at least 3/4 of it from the BP I earned in those games.

I could also play 1 killer game with BBQ and 1 survivor game with WGLF and easily earn enough BP to take a full blood web. I could also just aim for the moris and then take all the white stuff. I've gone through level 50 blood webs easily with just 50k points by doing this. You act like it's impossible to maintain an infinite supply of this stuff when it's not. It's very easy.

The hatch STANDOFF is when both players are just standing on or near the hatch waiting for the other player to act, as the first to act in this situation loses. This is the only problem with the hatch and ultimately what killers (and survivors) hate about the hatch. So while the hatch MECHANIC itself should not be removed or changed, the STANDOFF does need to be addressed. I've made a suggestion in the past that was IMO a very good solution to the problem, as it would more or less leave the hatch mechanic as it is while addressing the standoff directly, such that it actually makes the game MORE interesting to play when hatch comes around. Didn't get much attention though. Maybe someone wants to necro it with praise? (If you don't like the idea that's fine too, just don't necro the thread to bash it, leave it in the grave).

There is no hatch standoff, just stubborn and stupid players. The whole thing can be solved by jumping/attacking. So you die. So you let the last survivor go. So what. I sure don't want to waste time looking at Meg for half an hour.

I usually just hit the survivor if I'm killer, or go do a gen if I'm survivor. I never just stand there and wait like a boob. I did that once as Trapper just to see what a survivor would do, and even though I was blocking the prompt and making it clear I wasn't going to attack she just sat there and looked at me. She had ample opportunity to go clear across the map and do a gen, in fact I was willing to sit there and let her do all the gens to escape through the gate. But she didn't do this. I do this because that's what you are SUPPOSED to do as survivor.

The problem is that the standoff can occur in the first place. If a standoff couldn't even happen then I guarantee you would see a lot less people complaining about the hatch.

  • The problem with SWF is too many killers think they are God's gift to DBD that can't take an L. Man up and play the game. If you lose you lose. Yea I admit, toxic SWF groups that gloat or throw salt at the end game shouldn't be a thing, but SWF itself is not as big a problem as everyone makes it out to be. Most SWF groups I come across are just friends playing together. I can count on 1 hand the number of Depip Squads I've faced that absolutely destroyed me, but I wasn't salty about it and said GG at the end of the game. In fact, I can point to mistakes I made during those games that cost me. I didn't lose because it was an SWF, I lost because I screwed up at key moments.

  • My friend and I got Haddonfield like 4 times across only 6 games the other day. My ears are still bleeding from the loud ass intro music bug.

And yesterday right after reset I played a bunch of Spirit games. Got Autohaven maps every game but 1.

And don't think of killers like Freddy who has absolutely no counterplay against a hatch-standoff!

God you're so incredibly wrong. Freddy has the BEST counterplay against Hatch. Slug the 3rd, hunt down the 4th. Simple. Any other killer may have difficulties finding the downed third survivor, after dealing with the fourth (unless they run Deerstalker).
    Not Freddy.

I honestly can't understand all the complaints about Hatch. It's hardly a perfect concept, but the main goal is clear: the game must avoid a situation when the last remaining survivor has to repair one-two remaining gens, but cannot risk it, which leads to a boring half hour long hide-and-seek. Yeah the last survivor has a little easier time escaping, but that's not a big deal.

But all it leads to instead is a boring half an hour staring contest.

Or, literally five hours in some cases.

In my opinion, the hatch should exist (primarily) to end the game as soon as possible. Right now it often does the complete opposite of that, sometimes extending games waaaay belong the length any half an hour hide & seek would go.

In my opinion, the hatch should exist, but there needs to be less emphasis on it. The match is over, let it end. Survivor gets crows over their head if they're the last one left at an accelerated rate (unless they're already near the killer), reduce the rewards for the hatch for both sides. 3k = a "victory" for killer rather than needing a 4k for a "No One Escaped", bonus. Survivors don't get 7K BP for escaping via hatch despite the game being a defeat for them. Make them get 2.5k BP in survival or something for taking the hatch if the gates aren't powered already.

The less incentive the hatch has, the less people would be willing to do a stand off and the more it can be used for its actual intended purpose instead of having an opposite effect, but it should still have some incentive so it isn't just a "I guess I'll die now" moment for survivors.

I want to make this very clear to everyone: the hatch mechanic and the hatch standoff are two TOTALLY different things.

The hatch MECHANIC is necessary as a means to prevent killers from just getting guaranteed 4k's after killing only 3 survivors, and to prevent games where the last survivor just hides for an eternity. It's there because the game would both be unfair and unfun with just 1 survivor. And contrary to what you killer mains say, it's not a "free" escape. Survivors still have to collectively do 2 gens AND then the last survivor has to find the hatch and jump in without being found by the killer.

I see that some people have mentioned Shadowborn, so let me give you some advice. Don't use that perk. Shadowborn is essentially a wasted perk slot because you can play just fine without it.

The thing with Shadowborn on Nurse is that it makes is significantly harder, borderline impossible, to escape a chase from a good Nurse. Without it, survivors with IW and UE have opportunities to hide from you. With it, those opportunities are greatly reduced. It also helps a ton with corn vision, something that is the bane of the Nurse, as well as being a good way to locate survivors to start the chase. Sure you can play without it, but it makes things much MUCH easier because it basically makes up for her only shortcomings.

I don't disagree with you on Whispers though. It's an amazing perk on a lot of killers, and Nurse is no exception. However I do disagree with Ruin, only because if you are a solid Nurse it's not needed, almost a wasted perk slot. I prefer to play strong killers without Ruin for this reason. The only strong killer I believe Ruin is very much needed is Huntress because she is the only real slow killer in the game, as all other "slow" killers have a power that lets them get around faster. I also use Ruin on Hag, but that's more because it's her perk than because she needs it. I feel I could easily swap it with something like Sloppy or Devour and still have great results.

  • @fluffybunny said:
Well, I'm not really talking about sub-optimal play. By all means if they rush the hook, punish that. I personally expect it. They shouldn't be doing that. Killers are supposed to take advantage of mistakes and misplays, though. It's part of their role. What irritates me is when the killer WAITS for a misplay. Like they hoover around the hook and wait for someone foolish enough to go in for it. A lot of times people do, too, and reward the killer for something that doesn't take much thought. Given it happens less at the higher ranks, but it's still annoying. And you can always tell who relies on such tactics, like you can tell who uses NOED. They're just weaker players overall. I don't really consider trying to win as being try hard. I consider using OP items/add-ons/offerings as being try hard, especially if it's to help the side who used them win. Like if I want to live (daily), I'm bring in an OP item for myself 'cause I wanna live. I would be essentially try harding.

Yes! It's a very passive way of playing the game, one that relies on the other player to make mistakes instead of being an active way of playing the game where you create your own opportunities. Defensive play in GENERAL is very frowned upon in many games for this exact reason; it doesn't take a whole lot of skill. Anyone can sit in a room with 2 entrances and just wait for someone to walk by before shooting them. Anyone can pick a projectile spam character and just play keep away the whole time in a fighter. And yes, anyone can catch a survivor and sit there waiting for someone else to come along, either to prevent the save or to allow the save so they can tunnel. You're not special and your not demonstrating skill by playing this way, which is why you don't see these players ever improve, and why other players will get angry with what you are doing (though admittedly in DBD they tend to do this either way so...).

I had a surv the other day argue with me about dribbling. He was saying I shouldn't do it to avoid DS because it's a glitch and toxic. I explained to him that it's NOT a glitch, and is in fact condone by the devs as a counter tactic to DS. Furthermore I told him that if you run DS you should make an effort to never go down near a hook where you could be dribbled (the counter play to the counter play of dribbling). He said "the only counter to DS is to hope the player misses the skill check". This right here shows you the mindset of most players. They think that relying on someone else's mistakes is a tactic. No, CAPITALIZING on someone's mistakes is a tactic. Relying on the other player to make mistakes as a means to win is foolish, because there comes a point where the opponent makes few, if any, mistakes. Look at any eSport game environment. Now look at the top tier players. Watch some OWL finals, or SF5 matches between top 8 players. These guys don't make mistakes. They don't miss shots and they don't drop combos. When they do, it's a huge moment that commentators will always point out because it's rare. Therefore, if you want to display skill you need to create your own opportunities. You need to actively fight your opponent by outplaying them, not passively fight by waiting for mistakes. You become a better player doing the former, you become a stagnate or worsening player doing the latter. There is a reason you don't see a lot of defensive-type players in high level eSports, and why most defensive play in high level eSports is either reactionary or a prelude to aggressive/offensive play instead of being the main go-to strategy from the start of the game.

  • @TeaLeaf said:
Hmm its an interesting case I will give you, though it is still an argument of playing sub-optimaly because that makes you 'better' and 'more skilled'. However it is the best argument I have herd for such a thing in a while and can relate when its kill your friends. I suppose at the end of the day, if your on the killer side if you seek to win (try hard) by doing what a horror game would have a killer do.. aka kill as your fun or simply chase. Like wise with survivors who load every advantage talent wise they can, if fun for them is surviving or if they don't try to do gens as a priority. For me I expect survivors to gen rush and try to win and killers to kill. If the game was meant to have one character acting as a game master, I would think differently. However both sides are set up in a competitive fashion. Is the issue the games design then?

It comes down to by how much you "win" really. Like when I play survivor and the game is going by REALLY fast and it looks like we got matched with a baby rank <10 killer I will stop doing gens because I know how lame that is for the killer. If I got my pip I usually don't care if I die (only if I find a good item or no on else is going to escape to I really play hard to escape). But if I'm going against what is clearly a rank 1 killer that knows what they are doing I won't sleep on them.

Same with killer, if I get baby survivors I go easy on them and let the game play out more. If some of them get away I'm cool with that. I won't make it easy for them, but I won't make it impossible either. But then when I see survivors that know how to loop, with an obsession, and popping gens/Ruin fast I will put on my try hard pants and make them work for it. You have to gauge your opponent in this game, because rank ultimately means nothing you have to act as the ranking system in a way if you are really good at the game.

Just imagine if we had a REAL ELO style ranking system, but instead of matching you with similarly skilled opponents it just threw any 4 survivors into your lobby. You could be rank 1 diamond grand master commander-in-chief marvel's the avengers rank and they could be rank 20 doo doo brain peasant DC presents C-team Justice League. That's kind of how things sometimes work now, so if you want to be a "fair" player you need to consider these things. Otherwise you are really just kind of a bully.

His post proves otherwise, literally the day before lols were taken away he made a post where he titled it "why are LOLs a thing" pretty much complaining that people would spam it and hed get upset over it. Then the following the devs took it away

Since when are the devs that quick to fix ANYTHING? LOL no they chose to take it out before I made a post. My timing was coincidental and nothing else.

  • Now that I'm going to definitely get a Switch by the summer for Mario Maker 2, Mario Odyssey, Zelda, Metroid Prime, and Smash I've decided I'm going to also pick up DBD but I'm going use it to play for fun at low ranks and act as a training grounds for new players.

For killer I'm gonna play Nurse with Shadowborn, Distressing, TOTH, and Deerstalker, but I won't ever kill anyone (unless it's obvious they are a deranking bully). I'll just play to make the game spoopy and do stuff to help survivors learn the ropes while farming BP with Distressing/TOTH. Deerstalker is there so that I can slug people and find them to drop reset them if no one ever goes to help them. I'll only take hooks if I can be sure the person will get saved.

EDIT: Might also play Billy with the same build just because Nurse isn't a "normal" killer so it might turn out survivors don't really learn how to get chased the same way. But instead of Shadowborn I'm gonna use Whispers.

For survivor I'll play David with No Mither, WGLF (for BP), Kindred, and DH (so adept David with Kindred). The plan here would be to act like a leader for the team and help them learn the game but also be a free meal for the killer by the end of the game. I can easily take aggro from a baby killer and make them chase me a lot to get them to learn loops and stuff, but I won't ever escape. Having NM makes me easier to catch if they ever legit get a hit on me, and also means I can self revive if my team never comes to help. Kindred to counter potential campers but mostly to help the team coordinate and such. DH in case I get a deranking killer or something.

We could use the argument that's coming from a place of empathy (it feels bad for the other side) or we could use the argument that waiting around for survivors to make mistakes is somewhat of a weak play style and often creates weak killers who don't know how to properly do loops or even how to track. Both are generally applicable when people rely on methods such as camping and tunneling down the weakest member (often the person off the hook).

Exactly. While it's not necessarily against the rules to camp or tunnel, it just goes to show how bad of a killer you are when you always take the path of least resistance. You don't get better by doing the easy stuff and winning all the time. You get better by doing the hard stuff and taking the L once in a while.

Ironically, its those killers that are the first to complain about how unfair or unfun killer is when the TRUTH is that they aren't as good as they think they are and ran into someone with more skill than them which they can never accept as being the case. It's always the games fault. Every game I've ever lost I can point to specific mistakes I made and say "this is why I lost". I don't blame the game or the players, I accept that I made mistakes (or sometimes that the other player made a really good move) and learn from it.

  • @TeaLeaf said:
My question is, who defines what is "fair" here. I see that term is used a lot in the thread and I wonder if it really matches up. For me tunneling and camping are fair game play (minus face camping unless the gates are powered). To be clear a chainsaw revving in your face on your first hook until your dead is toxic and poor game play and I doubt any one is gonna defend that behavior, however utilizing fall backs to bait survivors going for unhooks is legit in my eyes (and should make survivors weary of bum rushing for the save). Eliminating a weak survivor after a few gens are done are also smart play.

I see a lot of arbitrary rules for sub-optimal killer game play consistently held up as if its expected, though the survivors tend to have the greatest advantage and require mistakes to be made for killers to really shine. This is backwards given the killer is suppose to be the power role, and the survivors are suppose to adapt to the killer yet it is often the other way it seems with time never on the killers side. I want to be clear I understand that there are toxic game play styles, but a lot of times coming back to a hook once make your choose activates I get called a camper, if I happens to find a blood trail or hear the groans of a freshly unhooked survivor I get called a tunneler. Seem what is fair is at least from most survivors I play with, is only when I down each survior 1s, then each 2, then only am I permitted the privilege of killing some one.

Playing fair is giving survivors equal opportunities to survive. That means if you get a hook and someone saves you go for the rescuer instead of the rescued. It's unfair to the rescued that you go after them again because they are in a spot where they have very little options to defend themselves. It's one thing to do this when you are pressured to do it because the game is going fast, it's another thing to do it when you are way ahead and don't really need to do it. It just screams "I am a desperate for kills".

And before you saying anything, I'm a rank 1 killer that generally plays without NOED or Ruin (the only killer I use NOED is Trapper which I don't use Ruin for him, and I use Ruin on Hag and Huntress because it's her perk and she needs it respectively), moris, or OP add-ons that gives freebies all the time and even gives free hatch escapes, but I still body most survivor groups and get all iridescent emblems. Why? Because I play fair and challenge myself to get better, so now I'm to a point where I'm actually a REALLY good killer. If I were to play a game with Ruin AND NOED AND OP add-ons AND a mori it's literally easy mode, even against top tier survivor SWF groups. How people have fun in games like this where it feel like a baby's toy is beyond me.

  • Increase your sensitivity. 100 is ideal, but I play 85 and it works just fine for me. If you aren't used to it then you need to slowly build up with practice, if you just go from 50 to 100 you will have a rough time.

Use Shadowborn. It helps so much with both finding survivors and tracking them during fatigue.

PRACTICE. This is all Nurse is, practice. You want to get the muscle memory down. Speed of the blink, range of the blink, aim of the blink, etc. Most importantly DO NOT PLAY WITH ADD-ONS!! Not until you learn the blink. If you use add-ons then you get used to certain things and if you ever take them off it will mess you up big time. It's better to play basic blinks until you learn them THEN start using add-ons. The only add-on you should use is Plaid Flannel because it does nothing to the blink itself, only shows you a crosshair for aiming to practice. But don't rely on this, use it for your first bunch of games until you get a grasp of how the blink actually works then take it off.

Once more PRACTICE. Even if you lose (and trust me you will probably lose a lot) just keep at it. The reason people say Nurse is bad on console is because no one wants to put in the time to PRACTICE her. Admittedly she is more difficult on console than PC (I know this from what a friend explained to me) but that does not mean she is in any way worse than PC (with some exception of map selection as it can hurt your frame rate). Trust me when I say that if you ever run into someone that puts time in on the Nurse on console YOU WILL GET BODIED. She is no joke in the hands of someone that PRACTICED.

  • Adren, BT, IW, Balanced. Sometimes I swap Adren for Hope or BT for Empathy.

  • Most OP build I found is actually for Freddy...

    DREAM CATCHER
    -Dying Light
    -Play With Your Food
    -Ruin
    -Haunted Grounds
    -Class Photo
    -Z Block

Bring a mori if you expect good survivors or SWF, but it's not always necessary. The goal of this build is to proc Dying Light as fast as possible. "Why not use Black Box?" Because when survivors see Black Box and Dying Light they immediately know what you are doing and will gen rush like crazy and do everything possible to protect the obsession. We don't want that. CP and ZB make you look like a baby Freddy with a normal 7 second transition, so by the time survivors figure out your build it's too late.

When the game starts just patrol gens like usual to find a survivor. When you do sleep them, look around for the next target to sleep. Rinse repeat as needed, you are looking for the obsession here, so just let everyone else go and only take the chase on the obsession. Ruin is there to buy you time, and HG is there to protect Ruin and give you a potential one shot on the obsession during that first chase. If they are a good looper then break the chase 3 times to get PWYF tokens, now it is impossible to loop you and since you are Freddy you can see their aura and reacquire the chase super easy. Once you get the obsession on a hook LEAVE. Yep do not camp them, just leave to let someone save. Again you are doing this to hide your build. You want to stay close though, so that when they do get saved you can swoop in and sleep them again. If you have a mori use it, otherwise just put them on a hook again. By this point the best teams I've faced have only had 2 gens done and/or Ruin is gone. If you don't have the mori leave again. You are doing this because it's faster to let them save and tunnel than it is to camp for 2 minutes.

Once the obsession dies, as long as they have 2 or more gens left to do you basically win. When you find a survivor use CP to put them all to sleep, then take a chase. You basically have infinite time they will never finish another gen as long as you keep them slept all while you take chases.

I've played this build many times and NO ONE has ever escaped. Closest any team ever got was 3 gens and Ruin and only because they had 3 toolboxes, which was all done before the obsession died AND I wasn't using a mori. If you bring a mori they will be lucky to do 1 gen.

  • GRAVE DIGGER
    -Shadowborn
    -Stridor
    -Whispers
    -Blood Warden
All skill build. Extremely scary if you are on point. Not for baby Nurses.

    SAINT MISERY
    -BBQ Chilli
    -Nurse's Calling
    -Discordance
    -Shadowborn
A core build. Nothing OP but easier to play than the previous one. You can swap Discordance to Ruin if you aren't that great with Nurse.

EDIT: Here is one more, but I've never actually used this build...

    CRIPPLING DEPRESSION
    -Shadowborn
    -Sloppy Butcher
    -Ruin
    -NOED
    -Ataxic Respiration
    -Catatonic Boy's Treasure
Omega blink with the 2 most powerful perks in the game plus a perk that makes healing take forever. Like I said I never used this but I imagine it would be absolutely awful to play against.

  • When I play killer I just put this great tune on in the background and go to town...
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wD5zPm58FWA

  • The only problem with this map is that it's really big, but if you treat it like Suffocation Pit and focus on one side (generally the side with basement) it's actually a good map for killer because there are less jungle gyms and more unsafe pallets. The bamboo is not nearly as bad as corn. IMO it's more 50/50 than favoring either side really.

  • I can't hear you OVER ALL THIS MARK MAKER 2 AWESOMENESS.

  • @Claudette_Baguette said:
The problem with freddy is that he sucks at chases. You won't get kills if you just kick and patrol gens. Survivors WILL get the gen and the ruin super easy and freddy can't do anything about it against a good team.

No they won't get the gen. That's why this build works. If you suck at chases but kick gens constantly it becomes REALLY hard to do gens as the game goes on. You can easily get a 3 gen strat going with this build, assuming they even get that far. You just pick and choose your chases, if you have semi-infinite time it almost doesn't matter how bad you are in a chase. Eventually they will eat through all the pallets and now there kind of is no chase.

Actually I'm not banned I'm jailed. There's a difference. And they even said they were planning to do it long before I ever made a post, so no I didn't take away your LOL's but clearly you are salty about it.

  • Not bad ideas. I wouldn't change the heartbeat reveal to an aura though, I would leave it as it is. DW timer should be 45 seconds to keep it even (if a hit removes 15 that is).

However I would like to point out that DW isn't exclusive to Legion, as it can happen with BT as well. They would need to buff BT again otherwise it would be easy to chase the BT guy until they bleed out. Also they should prioritize Mending over Snap Out. Right now Doc can put you into madness 3 and gets a free easy counter to BT.

I find this counter intuitive. If the game is going to be more difficult, why not use stuff to even it out more? Would you really rather sit there and struggle thinking to yourself "I could do this with better add-ons"?

Ever brought an Ebony Mori to a 4-man SWF and everybody escaped? Sometimes you just feel that you have no chance of doing well so the difference is is between losing and losing playing "sweaty" which would feel even worse.

Not saying that can't happen, but you stood a much higher chance of winning with the mori than without. If not you're just doing it so you can use the excuse "well I didn't have any good gear" instead of manning up and taking the L.

Or maybe you realize there’s a good chance you’ll take the L anyway so save the purple and pinks because they don’t grow in bloodwebs that often and save yourself the extra added anxiety of trying to make sure those add ons and offerings didn’t go to waste.

I mean you do you. I use good add-ons if it looks like a challenging game and it usually makes the difference between a win and a loss. I don't have this defeatist attitude that I'm definitely going to lose because if I did... I would probably lose. Maybe just dodge next time if they are THAT much better than you, but I never see it that way.

If you splooged the best add-ons on what are going to already be easy wins, kinda makes you a bully right? Or a try hard. Or a boosted killer. Sorry just my opinion.

Wait what was this "glimpse" you speak of?

In the last PTB where we saw the proposed Legion changes they acci8dentally slipped their possible new mechanic for Freddy. When he activated his power to Transition someone he walked slower. Not slower after he activated his power but slower when you hold the button to Transition. In the Devs stream after that PTB came out they confirmed that that was accident and it was from their Rework for Freddy.

Oh, that. Honestly it tells us nothing. Besides the fact it's just something that makes him weaker, it doesn't hint at any core changes to his design. On top of that, it's stuff that's being tested so this might not even make it to the final version.

  • Survivors don't hate Legion because he makes the game longer. In fact as a survivor main I argue that the longer the game the more fun it tends to be (to a limit, once the game has gone on for 10 minutes it quickly becomes less and less fun... I'm looking at you Doc). Survivors hate Legion because there is little (arguably no) counter play to Frenzy. If a Legion chases you with Frenzy you will get hit unless you have God-like 360's or the Legion is complete ass. The fun part on survivor side when being chased is avoiding the hit, which you can't do with Legion. If they Frenzy hit you, then follow you with a normal hit it's a bit more fun, but the DW timer means that if the chase breaks you have to Mend, and if the Legion is any good at killer they will be able to find you again.

Basically it means you can't ever truly escape a chase from a good Legion. You just, at best, extend it to the inevitable end. Or even worse, the DW timer drops enough that Legion can Frenzy hit you down, which is again unavoidable. This is why FMT is so busted because it let's Legion do this very easily. They can get 2 free hits on you with the first Frenzy, chase until their power is up, then get a third free hit to down you. There is absolutely nothing you can do to out play this. If you stand at a pallet the Legion can just wait until you drop it, then jump over and hit you, or if you never drop it they just swing through the pallet and because pallet hitboxes are lame they get you. It's lose-lose on survivor side.

You could argue that it's impossible to escape a chase versus a good Nurse, but the difference there is that 1) the Nurse takes skill to land those hits where Legion does not (sorry), and 2) you can indeed outplay the Nurse if you make smart moves. Additionally, stealth is very effective against the Nurse, so if you have IW and UE then you have more opportunity to escape those chases. Legion counters stealth too, since you can't hide while in DW or else you bleed out, and his power literally shows where other survivors are. The only counter to Legion is to split up and gen rush, but neither of these help in a chase. This is why Legion is such a lame killer, he ignores EVERYTHING survivors have to fight back against a killer, on top of the fact that nothing Legion does is inherently skillful like landing a blink or hatchet, or setting up a good bear trap, or predicting movement while in phase walk. All those things take some skill, Legion's power takes none. Sorry dude, but your main is just a cheesey no skill killer that ruins everything that is fun about being survivor. How killers enjoy playing like this is honestly beyond me.

  • IMO event offerings are a waste of BP and you are a fool for spending the points on them and then offering them knowing full well you might not get the event items. It's really not even that big of a deal since 1) you have to escape with it and you are more likely to die, and 2) killers destroy almost all of them by the time gates are powered anyway.

  • BBQ isn't that big of a deal, it's easy to dodge. Ruin is boring but also not a big deal. NOED can be lame depending on what the killer does with it, but also not a big deal.

  • I generally stick to white or yellow add-ons. If it looks like a tough game I'll use better add-ons. I'll avoid the OP add-ons unless I'm doing specific builds (eg. Class Photo on Freddy is for my OP builds only, not general use).

Moris are reserved for survivors that were toxic to me in the past (usually via post game chat insults) or for dailies.

I think as long as he is slightly taller than a crouched Pig he would be fine. Maybe part of his power is that he can see better somehow too.
