I like the saved loadout idea. But having a scrolling vertical list doesnt resolve the issue that there are a lot of perks in the game. By separating the perks into colors based on what they do, itll give reason as to why certain perks have certain colors. Additionally, itll help new players who have no understanding of all of the perks in the game yet. Additionally, it will help make locating perks easier. Theres probably more.
Well there are more ways to group and label perks than there are in DBD's color scheme not to mention how confusing some of the perks are. If there's a color for endgame perks, where would Rancor go? I would much rather use it for situational awareness along the lines of BBQ than endgame. Would Iron Maiden be grouped up with Haunted Ground or Whispers?
If you want colors, then maybe it would be better to allow the user to customize perk colors themselves because the last thing I want BHVR to do is to add a special color to Unrelenting and Monstrous Shrine.
-
I think it would just be easier to get rid of the color and have a scrolling vertical list, in alphabetical order and maybe even give us the ability to have a couple saved loadouts.

How about changing odd bulb so that it acts as a laser pointer at 32 meters- battery has to be at 80% and depletes flashlight after 1 use, hit or miss. Also, it does not burn or work through corn.

The new bloodweb changes seem to make the rare items more likely to pop up imho
This is pretty interesting because prior to the BW change, P3-50+ bloodwebs had 6 green, 3 purple, and 0 or 1 red. P2 and under could have less green and purple. I wonder if prestiging now is actually worth it, if they changed the algorithm for rarities.
-
I think that before anyone thinks of changing prayer beads (and even Wakazashi saya/Yakuyoke Amulet), it might be ok as-is if certain things are changed about the way she is within the realm. Raising her footstep audio, enabling grass movement, and removing collision may fix a lot of complaints. *Maybe*. Even with these adjustments she will be very strong.
-
If you don't have a friend to practice with then watch some streamers that play a good solo survivor game: Sal_gu, Brother Cope, Zubat, Fungoose. Watch how they play a certain tile then go ingame, burn a map offering and try to mimic their play. You're not going to get better by being immersed so try to get found and practice. Haddonfield does not count.
Keep in mind that T walls/jungle gyms/rocks/etc can vary in length from realm to realm so what you're used to in one map won't work (as easily) in another map.
Also, don't forget about bloodlust. Make them lose it by dropping pallets when you know they have it and then make them break it. Don't just drop a pallet at a safe loop and leave. Make the killer work for it.
And of course, have an escape plan. So, if there's a window next to a loop try to get chased so that you have an easy path to it. At the very least, keep an eye open for where a nearby pallet or structure is so you can go there next.
It all comes down to practice so learn them maps.

Honestly, what am I really expected to do here?
She's running Thanatophobia and Ruin, so all of my teammates are cleansing themselves, giving her corrupt purge.
Vomit isn't able to be dodged so she can just fling it around however and get hits.
Even without cleansing, I have to deal with broken status and the green smoke giving away my position, so stealth isn't an option.
Sure, you're gonna say "just loop her!" But that only works for so long.
I never thought I'd say this, but I'd rather face a Doctor than a Plague.
I was watching Salgu and I remembered this post. He's pretty smart and uses an interesting build. I'm sure it's partially a reason why he cleansed in the middle of the match but he does some fancy plays so give it a looksee.

Yes I notice that I hit people through windows a lot less now. Otherwise it's not too bad. EXCEPT the grab
Yeah, that can get pretty frustrating, especially if it's something that completely changes the end result.
-
As a killer, you really have to be ok with losing more than usual with these dedicated servers. The upside is that you get lobbies filled quickly. Killer strike? :) The downside: the new survivor movement, Myers' EW BS funk, fake grabs, glitchy hits and weird hit boxes... just to name a few.
The thing is, I don't think they can ever fix suspicious hits because latency will always cause ######### like that-- but at least the other stuff... Fix that. Please.
-
This is something I've had in mind for a while. BHVR knows the perks that gets used most. Anything under the 40% use threshold gets some kind of bonus. A twist could be a perk randomizer, while in the lobby, to get a BP bonus.

I notice this too. Doing 360 is extremly powerful currently against a killer, since he has huge problems tracking you blinking over his screen. as a survivor the servers are a pain, as a killer they are a nightmare
Funny enough, 360s are easier to track than some random movement left or right. I'm not talking about a console problem-- I play on the PC and I don't know if this is a platform specific problem or not.
-
Playing Myers right now is rough. I'm sure they can fix the EW gauge with some tweaking but one thing I haven't heard many people talk about is the jerky survivor movement. It's real noticeable when you're right behind them in chase. Before, when turning left or right, the survivor was very easy to track. It's not like that anymore with the dedicated servers. It's almost as if the animation loses some frames and I miss a few easy backrevs a night because of that.
I'm glad Ohtofu and Brother Cope noticed the same thing because I thought it was just me.

I'm very optimal with the bloodwebs. I don't care for the addons so I go for the cheapest route letting the Entity eat as much as possible.
You weren't very optimal if you needed 1.7 million to get to level 50, unless you're talking about how it was before the bloodweb change in 2017. After that, I always hovered closer to 1.4 million than 1.5 to complete a prestige.
That said, I don't want to sidetrack the OP, but I did want to share what my experience was like with the previous bloodweb because mine was very different than yours.
-
@Mr_K said:
Lvl 40 + you will see the difference.
Taking the cheapest route I've managed to get Demogorgon P3-50 with under 1.5 mil on all four 1-50s. Previous killers took around 1.7 so it seems a bit cheaper overall if your goal is lvl 50.
From lvl50 onward for all perks you can grab 2 perks for about 50k per web.
You may not have been going through the bloodweb optimally before the change. Before, getting to level 50 took 1.5 million bloodpoints per prestige-- and that's a conservative number. It actually seems to be a little more per bloodweb now because you're trying for 2 perks so you lose out on efficiency, but it's not much.
-
At 0 prestige level 50, there's a chance that there won't be 6 green nodes. It's more likely to be 6 almost all the time at P3-50. At least, this is how it was a year ago.

I wasn't expecting the bloodhunt to be extended another day. Nice surprise.

Standards sure have changed. To me, he's fat... along with Jane and Jeff.
Overweight/husky/thick if you want to be nice about it.
-
I don't think that would work solely because players already have leveled up their characters to max without prestiging at all. If there is any reward, it should be cosmetic.
-
A 2-piece bikini would be the perfect camo for her, what you talkin' about.
BHVR, get on it.
-
If I know the team is good, I'll bring a strong killer. I couldn't care less if they communicate. Good survivors solo queue will know what to do anyway. Looping non stop is THE game, so you really should learn how to counter that by zoning them out or by being able to identify really bad setups and knowing when to drop chase.
I don't dodge SWF.
-
I'm not a survivor main but I thought I'd reply anyway because I play a good amount of both at red ranks. To me they're different games. If a killer is coming at me with a knife with the intent to striketh me down dead, and I'm stuck in a world that I've ran around in for thousands of hours knowing there's a fair chance I won't escape.. yeah, I'll have fun while doing it. There are certain unsaid rules I follow if the killer is playing a fair build, so for example, I won't loop buildings/structures with ######### windows... but I'll definitely do it if I'm getting a good mix of 3 blink range exhaustion bead dying ebony light sweat. I'll probably throw in a few teabags too. It's all in fun, right?
As a killer, I know it's unfair when survivors don't follow the same rules and sweat just as hard, but eh. This isn't a game I play for esports type fulfillment with ladders and a proper rank/MMR system. I leave that for other games if I want to play serious. I play this game to roleplay, for the grind, and to have fun because it's still a challenge against good players or bad RNG.
I don't know how fun it is to bully with friends. Not my experience because I play solo and when I play killer, I've never felt like I was being bullied. I see them as ######### around and being #########, but being bullied is a silly term for me.

Myers Never "Peaked" around Corners.
So please do not ruin Myers with this suggestion...
He may not peek around corners but at the very least BHVR could offer a hedge or laundry line cosmetic.
-
With the dynamic map rework happening, is it possible to list the map "seed" at the endgame screen and/or have the option to enter it in a KYF match so that the static map can be used for KYF fun or community-based competitions?
-
Know your opponent. I play against survivors that I know are good with the flashlight. All it takes is one good survivor and your power is useless. Personally, I would just pick another killer because I'd rather use something else besides Franklin's. You can still get lucky and play against someone that isn't very altruistic or perceptive, and your chances are high that you'll still win, but just know that DBD RNG does not favor anyone all the time... even to a killer that has the highest kill rate of them all.

Unless they shrink down all maps its not going to do anything to help with genrushing. Maps need looked at for sure but its not going to fix anything on killer side.
You can't be serious. Fixing ######### up maps with their pseudo-infinites and safe pallets will absolutely help killers, even Billy. If it's easier to down a survivor that would usually loop you because of the BS, that adds pressure, and that's at least two people off gens which obviously extends time. Bandaid-fix perks or secondary objectives will not fix killer problems on a base level because all it will take is some opposing bullshit perk, a little word of mouth, and a new meta is born.. and guess what? ######### killers are still #########.
Map design makes or breaks a game and DBD is no exception. You fix one of DBD's core problems and it trickles down. #########, they might not even have to do anything other than fix the maps because it's THAT big a deal.
-
@ApeOfMazor said:
Whats more concerning to me is absolutely zero discussion of balancing perks or adding a second objective to stop the genrush meta. Seems not much is really changing when you think about it.
What are you talking about. Map rework with new pallet distribution can do more to fixing balance than bandaid fixing perks or adding objectives. Bad map design and ######### RNG is where they need to start.

Outrage? You mean profit. Those would sell out faster than we could make them. I'd buy at least 20, to be honest. Kate with abs, I mean. Not like, that but Kate shaped.
-
This is the opposite of why survivors use MoM. Do what you gotta do. That is all.
-
my Current headphones are cheap, don’t reslly give a good idea if sound is coming from right or left
Depends on how much you're willing to spend. I switch off between an old pair of Denons and the Sennheiser HD 202 II that I bought on Amazon. It's currently $50 and it's better than a couple other budget headphones I've had in the $20-$40 range. I like it for music because it has bass but it works well for DBD. Not quite as clear as my Denon but you can't get those anymore and I can distinguish left and right in-game sounds just fine with them. I also read that the 201s are probably better if you don't want all the bass, and they're only $40.

Considering the pirates only came out during the fog, I think that would be a big indicator to survivors of where not to be.Altho they did have an uncanny way of knowing where someone was, so maybe.
The main problem I see is that in the game thick fog is beneficial to the survivors. I'm not sure how they would switch that in favour of the killer!
Yeah, that's what I was thinking too, but I was also insinuating that they can, somehow, find the survivors easier, like maybe they will show an aura as they enter the fog.
But you'd also have to figure out how to incorporate the lore of the movie into the game because the whole reason why they were pissed off and jacking people in the first place was because their loot was stolen and they were getting revenge... and weren't the victims ancestors of the original thieves? I can't remember. Makes me want to watch it again.

If they want Frank's mixtape as default they gotta nerf the legion really hard on some other aspects.
Imo Frank's mixtape shouldn't be part of the base kit. Why? Because there's no counterplay against that since legion can vault pallets/windows (aka "safe" survivor zones), the only "counterplay" i can think of are 360s.
So if devs want to buff the legion it shouldn't be by giving them FM.I don't know about nerfing him hard because that's exactly what they did to Freddy. I'm not one of those guys that say Freddy didn't need to be nerfed because let's get this straight. He did, but they nerfed him TOO hard and I think that's what they mean when they say they don't want to change him too much too soon. Legion needs to be fixed and I wouldn't mind the V2 coming out and an additional V3 if they need to. I hope they do it soon because right now he's not in a good spot.
-
I know they've talked about buffing him as well as fixing the chase mechanic that people exploit. I'm not sure if this alone will fix him or if they're going to do any more to make Legion more fun- to play as or play against -but I'm all for letting the changes go live. Hell, they surprised me with the heal changes.
The only concern I have is that if Legion changes go live and the guaranteed down is still in effect... somehow, what will this say about future design choices? I'm thinking about perks with similar power to DS. Can we expect more of that, and really, can we complain about it, if this is just a casual game?
-
Cheesing a weakness in sloppy chase mechanic programming? Yeah I think it's exploiting. I'm for changing the Legion to make him decent. It's silly to be able to down someone in a chase by not even looking at them. I mean, at least give me a ######### mirror with an accompanying animation so I can look behind me. THEN.. I'm all aboard.
-
Nurse was made at a time when maps and gameplay were #########. If she were made today, she'd be different. So in today's DBD, you have to think without that killer as someone they want to match. If they did, they would also have to introduce something equally powerful for survivors, and you already know the complaints with them now.
I really don't know what they can do to fix how he works now but we'll see how it is when their changes go live. I'm not sold on how they said their going to change Legion on the dev stream but I'm willing to give it a chance. I hope they at least fix that super wack moonwalk bullshit.
-
Not sure about the distance because I haven't used them yet but I know that you probably shouldn't do them in a chase because it's obvious when survivors are throwing them and all you have to do is look away and strafe. It's not literally right behind either because there have been times when I walk right through the firecrackers in chase. Some survivors are getting clever with them, setting them off as I turn the corner. It doesn't take but a few times before you get used to those shenanigans tho.
-
I don't think they would ban for that because they've made it a point to say that if you harass a particular survivor every game you play against them, that's against the rules. They didn't say you can't do it randomly.
-
I give it a 4.5. I can see it going up to 6 if they work on Legion's power. My main gripe, besides that is they just don't look menacing enough for me. If they at least looked cool, then I might give it a 5.5.
-
As a killer, I'm camping if I need to and the BBQ nerf hasn't made me do it more or less. As a survivor, I'm getting camped just as much as before. No difference that I can tell.
-
It's an ambitious number because saying only another year or two is not something the current base or potential customer wants to hear. It's all for marketing. Meanwhile, they may come up with another project while they keep releasing DLCs to keep the current product active. That's how most of the companies work that produce MMOs.
-
Nope. New DLCs are what keep me playing because for the most part the game is fine. Whatever important thing they need to fix can be fixed in the mid chapter patch.
