  • yeah just make buckle up only work for the pick up survivor so if u for the people the killer can still down someone. It would still be a extremely great tool for helping a tunnel or slug survivor. If people want double endurance than they will have to work for it using we go live forever and MFT in combination

This one is for survivors who are middling/bad in chase, much like myself. I can keep a chase going for a decent time on a good day, but usually my chases barely break even for the time deficit you need to build of killer time wasted on chase vs survivor time wasted away from gens on unhooks heals etc.

Been figuring out perks that help and wanna see others have suggestions and tips.

    1. Windows of opportunity: bit of an obvious one, but definitely the best, even for players who know the maps and tiles inside out it still prevents getting messed up by expecting a pallet that isn't there any more.

    2. Troubleshooter: I have been loving this one recently, highlighting the gen with most progress is ok, and it can help with gens if you're feeling cheeky and running vittorio's quick gambit, particularlyon a multi level or poor LOS map like meat plant or lery's. Also good to lead killer using jolt away from a nearly finished gen. But the aura read when dropping a pallet is invaluable for survs who are iffy at looping. Personally i suck absolute ass when it comes to looping and keeping track of killer at high wall tiles. But with troubleshooter i can tell exactly where killer is going, rotate the opposite way and clear a bunch of distance while they are trying to mind game as killer has no notifications or cpunter for aura reads rn.

2.5: honourable mention to alert which basically does a similar thing but worse, and allows you to track killer outside of chase.

    3. Exhaustion perks: this one is obviously based very much on personal preference. Imo the single easiest exhaustion perk to use, and therefore best for weak chase runners, is lithe. It's the easiest to trigger and requires very little setup to utilise. Other ones like sprint burst or balanced landing are good but require setup or for you to hamstring yourself by walking everywhere. Plus I find the lither speed boost is just as good at causing killer to miss lunges as well as just gaining raw distance when you have the breathing space.

4: quick and quiet: ilI feel this one is a bit slept on. But particularly when you're uninjured and killer is close it's often a good one to pop in a locker or sneak in a fast vault to confuse killer and squeeze out that extra bit of distance. Word of warning don't hide in the locker too long, killers can sus you out particularly quickly if you're injured best use that second or two of hesitation as they run past the locker to burst out and jumpa vault or reach a pallet.

    5. Dance with me: This one I like, synergises extremely well with lithe and/or quick and quiet. Speed increase, silent vault and hidden scratch marks all off of one vault is pretty damn good and has let me legitimately slip away from more than a few chases.

Those are my personal top picks to help out weaker chasers, optimum build IMO is windows, lithe, q&q and dance with me. Interested to hear any other pointers or suggestions. Hope this helps ppl.

Trouble shooter make 4 lanes pretty alright to run.

  • half my teams do it for free no challenge needed it.

Probably Clown. He has very little counterplay and you basically always get hit in chase with little you could have done about it. He's like Pinhead chains except you can't dodge and can't break out of it, or Like Freddy but you can't walk around the bottles or wake up like you can for blood pools.

yeah clown go right in the knight pile of bad counterplay. The answer always shift w

put a bottle down on each end of the loop and u pretty much force to pre drop everytime.

  • my only problem is the main building on rancid is now terrible. most maps with super low amounts resources at least have decent main buildings like pale rose, grim pantry, or shelter woods. They tone down the corn to point that you can see a survivor through several rows of corn now. Overall i kinda like the changes and most of the farm maps are still solid for survivor. Rancid got gutted tho in my opinion which is crazy because it was the only balance farm map to begin with

Before when i played survivor it was only two maps i was scare to load into. (midwich and santum of wrath) This map make 3

I feel the anti camping mechanic should be just increase hook stage to 90sec. Im not really into self unhook, since survivors can loop near hook on purpose.

survivors will definitely loop by the hook on purpose which will be a massive problem but I don't think increasing the hook timer is the answer. Bubba, pinky clown, infinite tier 3 myer, and a bunch other instant down killers can still camp you to death (a longer timer on hook won't change that).

The new anti camping mechanic was made to give survivors on hook a chance against those killers who make it nearly impossible to trade from.

Machine Learning + Trial of Torment

Trial of Torment recently got buffed. Here is it's new effect:

    • Upon kicking a Generator, you gain the Undetectable status. The Undetectable status only goes away when the Generator stops regressing. The Aura of the Generator is highlighted yellow.
    • Removed the condition where a Survivor losing a health state deactivated the perk.

Trial of Torment basically constantly pings the location of a Generator for Survivors, and since you have constant Undetectable, they are forced to stop the Generator from regressing to get rid of it.

It will always guarantee that you get value from Machine Learning since you will always have the opportunity to kick the same Generator twice.

it definitely solid on the instant down killers who don't have to stalk. Most of the one shot killers struggle at loops using machine learning or trail to get the jump on them is pretty cool. Still wouldn't use it on most killers. oni, bubba, and billy maybe (probably just bubba tho)

I just got dodged NINE times and ended up in a lobby with a scumbag Feng (on Anon Mode, of course) who body-blocked me inside of Midwich's Bathroom.

    https://youtu.be/sX7Tk_XDEGs

Love that after I got slugged until bleed-out by a SM after everyone EXCEPT for me DC'd.

I want to try to enjoy this Paragraph, but Jesus, it feels like every game has been a shitshow after the amount of dodges I see.

Just completely remove the lobby at this point. Hide everyone's names until after the game and just, idk, make up a new pre-game screen. Show the Survivors their teammates perks or something.

Guess im in the minority. lobby dodging is absolutely mandatory in my experience. The game rarely match u with people of the same hours or skill so it up to u the player. I can see some of these players profiles and there hours and as a survivor...i not knowingly going to go in game with a 78 hour player! when it = L nearly every time. I gave the default meg, & level 1 prestige jake plenty of chances (dead weight 90% of the time). I KNOW! a high prestige dosen't = good but from my experience they way better on average compare to a lower level prestiges. "you know high prestige players can play low level prestige characters as well" yes they can but still on average i get way worse results from lower levels teammates. When i play killer i dodge low level prestige lobbies because i already win 80% of the time and don't won't easy matches. Dodging should probably be penalize but match making should actually work if we gonna do that.

Rancid used to be my fav map for both sides, not anymore I guess.

First they ruined asylum, now this

This was also my favorite map outside of coal tower. Always thought this was one of the most balance maps in the game but now it terrible from a survivor side. main building only have 1 window open at a time making it impossible to play the building for more than one loop and the map have a very low amount of resources. Extremely weak main building now with a very limited amount good resources around the map. Might as well be another Sanctuary Wrath. The camouflage in the fields been tone down significantly to point that i can easily see people even behind 3 rows of corn. I'm glad for no more corn vision when I'm playing slinger at least.

  • @Dreamnomad said:

Lol, that is funny. The game that the original player thought was lost so he/she quit only to have the bot finish the game and successfully escape. Dude, when I play killer it will now be my objective to kill everyone but the bot.

By perk buffs, do you mean Buckle up + For the people? Because that is far far far more powerful than any perk buffs that killer got. Survivors are using this combo when the killer is in attack animation cooldown, when the killer is right there, and both survivors get the endurance status from it.

best anti tunnel perk in the game by a landslide and I'm not being sarcastic

  • i mean even the so call best survivor streamers struggle to crack a 70% win rate so i can see how you would be doubtful. 60% is definitely possible

It just out of 10 games you know two will probably be a auto L because someone will afk/suicide/dc.

This'll be a rant on why I uninstalled DBD.

So I've finally decided to uninstall DBD. While it was great a few a years the game has become a very unfun and stale experience since the release of Hellraiser. Before Hellraiser, DBD was always a fun and entertaining game to open up and have a blast as Killer, Survivor was more chaotic, and it was overall just fun for most of the matches I played.

When Hellraiser dropped I enjoyed Pinhead and I still enjoy him now he was one of my favourite killers but, what they included with Hellraiser was SBMM. Which started the drastic downfall of DBD and it's still probably the worst thing BHVR has added into this game. MMR doesn't work for a game like this and it's really hurt this games reputation.

I know everybody says Solo Q sucks and no it doesn't suck I've won and lost many games in Solo Q just like any other Multiplayer game. Solo Q gets bad not because of gameplay issues it's because players will rage quit the match very fast if something goes wrong really quickly. SWF while it's fun to play with my friends on DBD the challenge isn't there a lot of the time unless we're against a strong killer.

There's also hardly any variety anymore in this game. The majority of the matches are mostly the same builds over and over again either Killer or Survivor it's mostly the same builds and you rarely see any variety in perks, addons, Killers, or Survivor teams. How often do you see Trapper, Amanda, Hillbilly, Hag, Freddy, and a few other weaker killers? It's mostly killers who can handle the really good teams and while I enjoy playing against some of those killers like Wesker or Blight they can get pretty repeitive. The same with going against Survivor teams the matches a lot of the time end with maybe getting 3 hooks the whole match, 2 to 3 gens popping in the first 2 minutes of the match, and then having to try to get good results through endgame.

The Community as well doesn't help as I can't go a full day without seeing a post that complains how Killer players play to win or how Survivor players play to win like Killer camps and tunnels or Survivors gen rush. Also how the community responds to some content creators and people who try to offer suggestions to how to maybe fix this or change that is just awful people get so much hate because they speak out about an opinion and just get backlashed for it. While DBD may have it's possitive side as well that gets quickly overshadowed by the majority negative energy that comes out.

So with that this is me leaving the fog and going to enjoy some other games and I may comeback once and a while to see how the game has been doing but, as of this moment I'm going to go back to Freddy's Mega Pizzaplex and play the Ruin DLC of Security Breach while I await for TCM to release.

In slightly different terms than I would have used, but I feel both of these comments hit the mark.

The logical, competitive side of me understands why the behavior is so common. But looking a bit further, I can also logically conclude how this behavior is nothing if not detrimental to the game. ...which is why it is so strange to me when people want to be apathetic and condescending to those who express their grievances about the issue.

"Because I can" and "because I should" are not the same.

"which is why it is so strange to me when people want to be apathetic and condescending to those who express their grievances about the issue."

These strats are beatable with good players but the fact that any low level players can Implement them are terrible. This should be a hard to master tactic that decent to good level killers can use to mount a comeback. But as it stand... it to easy to utilize allowing new killers to destroy low levels survivor which is horrible for retaining players. It take a unreasonable amount of time to learn how to counter these tactics and most players just give up on the game after going through it.

  • @smappdooda said:

It's because gens fly too fast and MFT has made end game chases almost untenable. Kill one early, better chance of not getting shat upon.

Can we stop acting like the survivors force are hand? The eruption 3gen era was maybe the strongest meta for killer and people still tunnel a great amount. So no gens flying and mft got nothing to do with it. When i tunnel (which is rarely) it because i wanna win and not because of some impossible situation the survivor put me in.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/384246/whats-up-with-the-insane-hard-tunneling-today

Yup, super annoying. Tunneling and Camping should be considered as an unfair play style. I know that it has been argued a thousand times as play style and tactics, but that’s nothing more then big BS. Think logically, new players coming to this game which is currently dying, the want to learn the game and they are being unable because there’s cowards in the game who tunnel and face camp the crazy shiet out off every possibility. In 10% of my matches I’ve not experienced such a behavior, but this indeed is a rarity. This players ruin the game and me as a player I don’t consider tunneling or face camping. What’s the point to make players quit the game and ruin the fun. It’s a game and it’s supposed to make fun. Punishing players by playing it and getting screwed over by this behavior is not fun. It’s frustrating, disgusting and demoralizing. And on top, you’ve nerfed the most important counter plays to tunneling. Thanks for that BHVR. Killers have the easiest time of their life and playing survivor makes just no more sense. You cannot focus on the top notch of players. You’ve to check the generality of players, the casualty and the solo queuing players. But apparently you don’t do so and this simply is a disaster!!!

These tactics wouldn't be so bad if they actually took some sort disagree of difficulty to pull off... but they don't. Any noob killer can stand still to camp or follow someone all game to tunnel. This can cause low level players to beat more skill players consistently which isn't fine at all. The perks power creep is also ridiculous to point that it almost pay to win. I don't see how this could be consider a competitive game when your skill doesn't even matter half the time.

(This is a question but I'm searching for lots of opinions and not one answer so perhaps I should've called that a discussion)

    yes

roughly around 40% but it could be higher if i ran my gen rush build exclusively.

the escape rate more like swf excape 50% and solo q 30%. With the majority of disconnects coming from solo q games so it can easily feel like 20%. I wouldn't recommend anybody to play solo q unless u running a hyper focus build specifically. Anything else and u very likely to lose more than u win which is unacceptable to me personally.

in a world where theres 4 survivors, not just you. Its a team game your individual escape rate doesnt matter, its the escape rate of the team. If theres a 40% chance that 2 will escape or something like that then its balanced. As survivor you kinda need to accept its more likely you'll die than escape.

you just gave me the average excape rate for most survivors. again im asking the op how is a 39% consider a high excape rate

The words “Chase better” would make more sense if most of the pallets in the game were designed to be mind gameable, god pallets were deleted + Bloodlust numbers to ed down

If Killers are expected to demonstrate skillful play via chase to win, the same should apply for Survivors.

i don't think most pallets are meant to be mind game-able tho. There plenty of killers who force you to pre drop for one reason or another

  • i like going up against him but i can see why this is a huge problem for people who want variety (especiallyfor peoplewho hate him).

I don’t see how 3 gen can be fixes without making maps bigger, but we know what happens when maps are bigger.

If survivors didnt try to do gens on opposite sides of the map at the start, it’s a gameplay issue and they should have a harder time later on because of it.

Which how most gen regression perks have been nerfed, I wouldn’t be surprised if 3 gen is on its way to becoming as uncommon as a sweaty 4 man swf.
