Omg let's go! She's very fun and strong if you know how to play her so she's an excellent choice.

Well first match of the day I queue up as spirit and I end up getting 5 pentimento totems so that's something.

  • Gonna go with spirit but I like blight's aesthetic too.

  • Fun fact, I finished getting all perks to tier 3 on spirit while you were gone.

You could maybe talk me into playing her a lot today ;)

  • Hey, welcome back.

Please create more spirit posts. She’s cool

  • You cannot use a locker to hide from rancor.

The reason is that although rancor allows the obsession to see the killer's aura, it does not actually show the killer the auras of the survivors - it just shows little bubbles that tells them where they are. It's like what Doctor sees when he hits you with static blast, minus the screaming.

These "location bubbles" are not considered auras, and lockers or any other perk that normally hide auras will not block them. So yeah, not a bug.

  • They've already said she will be re-enabled when Sadako releases.

  • It’s a delayed BBQ. There’s no minimum range limit and it lasts longer but it happens later and at a more unpredictable time. BBQ gives you info on where to go after a hook, FOR gives you info on where the rescuer is going/see if they’re healing at the hook or not and see where the other two survivors are. If you’re already chasing one then you can use it as a de-facto I’m All Ears since you will see them for those 7 seconds.

Overall though I will probably stick with BBQ most of the time just because I like bloodpoints.

  • If I know the killer is nearby then I’ll stay to give them a hit or two or sometimes because I want my wglf stacks if there’s another injured survivor there with me.

If the killer is far away then I don’t usually bother.

  • It’d have to be an iridescent and even then it might be too strong. Idk. You could move soldier’s puttee down to make room for it.

I mean the whole goal of perk is to reduce your TR. It does require 4 obsession's to be hooked. The only reliable way to switch obsession for hooking is to use Oni's Nemesis perk. Its 3 perk investment to make any killer stealthy. An entire build devoted to stealth.

right now, the perk is pretty worthless and no other change other than above one would make it redeeming perk to use.

I mean yeah you can use nemesis but you don’t need to since furtive chase switches the obsession every time the obsession is unhooked.

Don’t get me wrong, the perk sucks in its current form. But theoretically getting 4 hooks on obsessions and then having either an 8 or 0 meter TR outside of chase for the rest of the match would be kinda crazy.

One idea I had was to just give the perk an additional effect every time the obsession is hooked, such as a temporary speed boost or anything else really. And that’d be on top of what it does now.

  • I love moments like these

  • I don't even think overheat is a problem tbh.

What I'd do is slightly reduce his stun/cooldown upon a bump or a missed hit, remove his roar, and give him another addon pass.

  • The problem is it's difficult to really introduce anything that decreases terror radius outside of a chase because Monitor already exists and stacking the two could get out of hand.

That said, Furtive Chase is still terrible despite its recent buff and does need some changes - but it should be changed in a different way.

  • Current Solidarity:

Heal other survivor in 16 seconds (default)

You are 50% healed; other survivor heals you in half the time which is 8 seconds

24 seconds to fully heal both survivors

    Your proposal:

Your altruistic healing speed is reduced by 25%

    1(1 - 0.25) = 0.75

    16 / 0.75 = 21.33 seconds to heal the other survivor

Now you're fully healed as well so the total time is 21.33 seconds.

So you get the healing done 2.67 seconds faster than you do with the current version, with the downside being that you heal people slower the entire match while injured and it could end up hurting you later on if that slower healing makes you unable to get a heal off. So whether or not this version of the perk is actually better is situational and it has potential to backfire the same way autodidact can if you don't have your tokens.

  • The build I have been running lately is BBQ, corrupt, plaything, and bamboozle. It’s probably not the absolute best build you could use but I like it. Bamboozle is good for shutting down strong windows, corrupt gives you early game slowdown, and plaything lets you sneak up on survivors (which often leads to free chainsaws)/acts as a passive slowdown if they go looking for totems. BBQ I just like using for bloodpoints, but if you wanted to make this build stronger then you can replace it with another slowdown perk.

    @EntitySpawn said:

    Corrupt, NOED, Bamboozle and X

Use chilli and X (forget the name of the other)

    Facecamp first player down.

This has been the playstyle of every bubba I have ran into since replaying the game. The usually get 2 or more kills for very little effort

What I’ve been seeing multiple facecamping bubbas use lately is that + deadlock as the 4th perk. Some are also using NWO instead of bamboozle. So they facecamp the first survivor until dead, if the survivors are smart the gens are nearly done by the time they die (but deadlock is usually enough delay that they’re not fully done), they get an extra kill or two with NOED and the gates are blocked for either 24 or 36 seconds and it usually leads to a 3k with very little effort. I don’t want people to do this, but it’s unfortunately very effective.

  • There are objects directly in front of the exit switches that block their view until you get closer to them, but yes it’s pretty difficult for the last survivor to escape. I think against certain killers like wraith it’s impossible because he’s too fast.

But yeah like some others said, get the door to 24% and wait for them to check. That’s really your only chance.

  • Probably wouldn't be "op" in the sense that it wouldn't be better than the meta perks, but it'd probably outshine most of the other teammate-info perks other than kindred maybe.

  • Tbh the only thing I don't like about it is you can use up most of your medkit and then use the styptic. I think you should have to have enough charges left for a full heal to be able to use it. You can still bring it on your crappy brown medkit if you want but then you don't get anything else from it.

  • Hate to tell you but they confirmed on twitter that Nurse will be back on the 8th.

  • I mean in your game specifically it sounded like the cheryl ran away when she should have stayed there near the 99’d gate and opened it when she saw you coming. So yeah, she got you killed.

That said, I almost always 99 gates. The number of kills that I see happen due to the timer or to bloodwarden is far greater than the number of kills I see happen because of a 99’d door.

If you do 99 the doors:

    1. You might die to the gate not being open.
    2. Technically against Freddy you are risking Black Box if you open the door and need to leave right away but almost nobody uses that because it’s so bad.
    3. There is no timer.

    If you open the door:

    1. You are now timed which can lead directly to kills and/or having to leave one or more survivors behind because you do not have time to save them.
    2. You risk a survivor being chased getting “stuck” at a loop they cannot leave without being downed. I see this happen all the time where the timer allows the killer to just stay at a loop - usually a safe loop where they can’t really get a hit normally, but eventually the survivor has to make a move due to the timer and that gets them killed. With no timer, it’s a stalemate or the killer may just break the pallet, with a timer, the survivor is forced to act/the killer can just stay there with them and never break the pallet.
    3. You risk bloodwarden.

I understand the frustration of dying to a 99’d gate, but I get even more frustrated when a random teammate opens the door while under no pressure from the killer, and eventually survivors have to be left on hook/left on the floor to die because I would die to EGC if I saved them, or a random teammate opens the door while I’m looping the killer injured and now I can’t get past them because I go down if I try/they can just zone me.

Having said all that, I have been burned by both 99’d gates and the gates being opened multiple times, so both strategies have their risks. I personally have just found that I have more success 99ing gates overall.

The truth is that although the EGC is necessary to have in the game, it is a killer-sided mechanic even though it wasn’t really meant to be.

  • I like her. She is one of the most unique killers in the game and you cannot play against her the same way you would play against other killers.

It might be initially disappointing to go into a match with a healing build and/or a medkit and quickly find out that it won’t do much (if anything), but that’s just part of her power and I don’t have a problem with it. Personally I don’t really view it any differently from things like stealth killers countering aura perks (eg. perks like kindred or dark sense against wraith) or for instance counterforce being a waste against killers who didn’t bring hexes. When you run perks like those you run the risk that you may face a killer that it won’t help you against.

Also, she may invalidate conventional healing, but if you do cleanse it’s super fast. You healed yourself in half the time by running to a fountain instead of running to a teammate, AND your teammate didn’t even have to do anything.

Whether or not you choose to cleanse or not cleanse is up to you but you have to be on the same page as a team. If one survivor cleanses, suddenly the other 3 not cleansing becomes far less valuable (and admittedly this is a weakness of solo q). I usually try to avoid it until I have to in order to get a save if she’s nearby, or if I’m on death hook. When you do cleanse, you should often pick a location that is as inconvenient for her as possible - if I’m the killer and a fountain is far out of the way, I may not want to take the time to go there. Also pay attention to how many fountains are left - if you are sick and there’s only 1 left, go cleanse. She’ll get her power but it’s worth giving it to her once in return for taking all her fountains away.

Also, as a general rule, if you’re infected, don’t touch gens that healthy survivors are already working on and get them sick for no reason. Split up and find a different one.

Oh you mean they didn't instantly kill themself first hook. Interesting

We both got out on 2 hooks. Killer got 6 total iirc

  • Well I just got paired with Sluzzy as a survivor and we all escaped against a huntress.

Other than that not that I'm aware of.

  • There has been a similar bug going around lately where killers sometimes don't get pallet stunned when using their power; in that clip you came out of the locker right as he started using his chainsaw so maybe it has something to do with that? Just a thought.

  • I’d be fine with anything ranging from like a 2 second animation to stop regression on a gen (if stopped/interrupted then regression continues) to simply making a kick remove like 3-5% progress on the spot. The other idea is increasing the base regression rate to one-third of a charge per second instead of one-fourth, but then some regression perks would need to be adjusted to counterbalance it.

  • Yeah currently no perk affects blessing time except thrill of the hunt.

I would be okay with adding it to resilience, spine chill, and leader, but then it should also be part of thana as well since it also affects cleansing.

Counterforce should not affect it though as that’s entirely a cleansing-based perk.

  • Nah nobody’s gonna use it much.

I’ll try it with shadow step but idk if it’s really gonna do anything. I don’t have high expectations.

  • And rework the swamp maps while you’re at it.

    Also I agree screw hag

  • Let's at least wait until she comes out and actually play her and then we can reevaluate. She got a long list of changes.

They made it more difficult for survivors to get rid of condemned which is what a lot of people wanted, and her chase is slightly better now. If she comes out and she's still too weak, she can always be buffed again, and they've already said they're open to more changes if necessary.

  • Not a pig main, but I use that mask all the time and when I do play pig feel free to boop me with it. I’ll probably return the favor.

  • If Pig’s was reverted to 28 I wouldn’t mind.

I also think ghostface’s should be 24 but he‘s getting changes anyways.

The change to sadako does show they’re willing to break the standard though, so I wouldn’t be surprised if they do it more in the future. They kinda did it with deathslinger already but that was because he was a ranged killer with no lullaby.

  • I'm fine with it. It only exposes one person and you have plenty of advance warning that it's there.

It's not a very strong perk but it doesn't really need to be. I wouldn't change anything about it.

  • Thanks so much for the video! I’ll be sure to look out for that in the release.

6m with Monitor & Abuse plus Dead Rabbit? I thought he would be Undetectable with that combination.

The perk applies before the addon; so in tier 2 outside of chase, Monitor reduces it to 8, and then Dead Rabbit reduces it by 25% of 8, making it 6.

In chase tier 2: Monitor increases it to 24, then dead rabbit drops it to 18 (25% of 24 is 6).

Out of chase tier 3: Monitor decreases it to 24, dead rabbit then increases it to 30.

In chase tier 3: Monitor increases it to 40, dead rabbit then further increases it to a whopping 50 meters.

  • Ngl I didn't know she had a lullaby until reading the changes to her. Never noticed anything on the PTB.

  • I thought 10 seconds was a bit much but I wasn’t expecting it to actually get nerfed tbh

  • I actually like playing her but I get why people don’t enjoy her.

Since the time I started playing this game though (which was around the midchapter between twins and trickster), artist was the only new killer that I didn’t see a lot of when she came out. I think I went against 2 total in the first week. She dropped off fast.

  • These seem like some overall good changes. Excited to see them in action.

  • Idk what they did but ever since they said they improved validation feedback I’ve definitely noticed I’ve been getting hit through pallets again. I’ve also been getting hits as killer that looked similar to hits that had been rejected in the past. In fact I don’t remember the last time I’ve had a rejected hit/fake scream from a survivor.

  • Pink medkit would probably be like a green medkit but with 32 charges. Two heals like the purple but with the faster healing speed as well.

Pink toolbox? Idk, hard to say given there’s different varieties of toolboxes that are the same color. Engineer’s toolbox is double repair speed for 8 seconds (16 charges) so maybe that but 24 charges (so it lasts 12 seconds).

Pink flashlight could be like a 16 second flashlight with the other stats being the same as the purple (maybe without the reduced aim accuracy).

Those are just ideas. I don’t think we really even need pink medkits or toolboxes though, they’re already good items at lower rarities.

  • Spirit is not addon dependent at all and if anything MDR + cherry blossom is too strong. But you can play her just fine without them.

The most addon dependent killer I can think of is still ghostface with his recovery. It’s not as important as it used to be but it’s still important.

Trapper’s 5.3.0 buff mostly eliminated his dependency on trapper bags. PH isn’t really dependent on range addons, it’s just that nearly all the rest of his addons suck so people use range because that’s what’s left.

I also generally use memorial flower + a tier 3 duration addon on myers, but I think that’s just more of a personal preference I have and not a dependency.

  • Well here’s some survivor builds I like using; I generally switch between survivors and have one or two builds I play on that survivor specifically:

Feng - DS, deliverance, FTP, and one of BT or vigil. This revolves around getting a safe unhook and then having a get out of jail free card at the end of the game if I haven’t been hooked yet. I know I should run UB but I think DS/UB is extremely boring so I just don’t. Once deliverance is up it’s also less risky to make FTP plays and vigil allows broken statuses to recover faster but sometimes I just run BT here depending on my mood. I’ll also try parental guidance here with DS when sadako releases.

Meg - WGLF, BT, windows, autodidact. Not much of a theme here, this is just what I use when I want bloodpoints. Autodidact is not a good perk but I use it anyways because it’s fun.

Nancy - Selfcare, resilience, botany, and desperate measures. This is a heal-based build with being able to 99 heals for resilience and selfcare faster depending on how many survivors are injured. At the worst you’ll spend 20.5 seconds and at best you’ll spend 16.2 - almost completely negating selfcare penalty.

Nea - Flip flop, soul guard, unbreakable, BT. Idk I kinda just wanted a flip flop build that didn’t have power struggle lol. I often play this when playing with a friend who has breakout. I have tried exponential on this build as well and it failed to do anything useful so I stopped using it.

Kate - Repressed alliance, fixated, stakeout, and botany. Stakeout and fixated pair well together since it makes it easier to avoid the killer and get your stakeout tokens at the same time. Botany is there for faster heals which makes it more likely stakeout’s tokens will be used on gens instead of healing. Repressed is just a 4th perk I enjoy using but it could be swapped out easily (and it’s admittedly lost a bit of value these days with the PR/DMS meta).

Cheryl - Balanced, dead hard, windows, and shadow step. I like the balanced/DH combo as it’s unpredictable/killers don’t expect you to have both. I don’t use exhaustion perks much and this is really the only time I use DH at all. Windows and shadow step are just there to help with chase/pair well with the exhaustion perks. I’ll try dark theory on this build when it releases since pairing it with shadow step is pretty much the only way I’m ever gonna consider using it (I refuse to equip COH with how broken it is).

Here’s some I like for killers:

Wraith: BBQ, pop, NWO, corrupt. Tons of points and lots of value for hooking multiple survivors. He’s one of the only killers I still use Pop on since he can get around quickly/map mobility isn’t a problem for him. I also like blood favor with double windstorm.

Myers: Corrupt, brutal strength, PR, and one of surge, NWO, or deadlock.

Vanity mirror myers: Lerys offering and dead rabbit with Monitor, PR, BBQ, and devour hope for an instadown killer with a 6m TR outside of chase and 16m wallhacks.

Bubba: My new favorite build on him is bamboozle, corrupt, plaything, and BBQ. You wouldn’t believe how many easy chainsaws you can get on survivors who were outpositioned and didn’t know you were coming. Even if they cleanse the totems it offers a bit of slowdown as well since it’s risky to be oblivious against bubba. I haven’t tried pentimento on him yet but I should. Outside of that this build gives extra points and info (even if bbq is predictable on him), early game slowdown, and a way to deal with windows and force pallet drops sooner (eg. drop or die). If you don’t care about extra points you can swap bbq for NWO or any other perk you like.

Spirit - Ruin, undying, retribution, haunted ground; you can also swap these for pentimento, thrill of the hunt, and/or devour hope. I’ve done many different variations of totem builds on her and liked all of them.

Another fun one for her is to use the Furin addon which makes your phase sound map-wide (and non-directional from far away) and use DMS. Survivors get scared off gens if they don’t realize what you’re doing even if you’re on the other side of the map. They will eventually figure this out and start playing more risky (usually) which opens up opportunities for insta-grabs out of phase.

Plague - I’ve been using pentimento, thana, thrill, and plaything lately. The major downside of this build is no-early game slowdown but you get a ton of it later on if you play it right (and if you don’t get unlucky losing thrill early on). Thrill and thana stack, so if all survivors are injured and all totems are on the map it takes 35 seconds to cleanse any of them! Survivors may choose to ignore this but be oblivious the entire match which is risky against a plague. Thana’s gen slowdown also stacks with pentimento, and if everyone is injured then one survivor will take 2 minutes and 23 seconds to do a gen - almost double the normal time.

If you don’t want to do a totem build then another solid option is corrupt, bbq, infectious fright (for corrupt purge snowball), and thana. I’ve also tried hysteria on her and got insane value from it one time on hawkins, but outside of that it actually didn’t seem like it did that much.

Artist - Agitation, starstruck, PR, and mindbreaker. Agitation allows you easier access to scourge hooks and increases starstruck’s range to 44 meters allowing you to cover a large portion of the map. Survivors will sometimes get damaged by birds not caring about them too much in order to avoid being instadowned by m1. Her “o grief o lover” exhaustion addon is also good with mindbreaker but if you don’t care about exhaustion as much you can swap it out for another perk.

Anyways that’s just some of the builds I like to use!

  • I mean sure, I wouldn’t mind it showing locker auras. There’s no real reason to remove the hook auras though - having the info isn’t going to work against you.

  • Increase unlocking speed bonus to 100% and have it show the aura of the closest chest to your location at the moment you become injured for the first time.

If that’s not enough, you could add an extra chest or two to the map, or make it so that if someone else opens that chest you can see the aura of before you can get to it, then you can rummage it (like appraisal, but without the speed bonus) for your medkit.

  • These are definitely much better than what we have now. I really like the ceremony book rework.

  • Yes because a map that is extremely large, maze-like, confusing to navigate, and not originally designed for DBD was definitely a great thing for the game.

  • It will be really, really strong on wraith. I don’t think it’ll be used a lot on other killers though.

1 … 120 121 122 123 124 … 138
