I have to agree. The teaser doesn't really suit the theme of DBD, it fits way more with Nioh or other similar games. The only thing that is very DBD about it is the janky animation.Rex_Huin said:Meh - seems out of place with the rest of the game. Looks like a trailer for the he next Nioh or Ninja Gaiden.

As survivor I refuse to play if I see a consistent 150+ or an inconsistent 200+ ping because at least in my experience, it's really frustrating to play against. Maybe I don't play for half an hour but I'd rather that than playing and having it be terribly laggy.
-
NOED like DS is a crutch and should just be removed from the game. It allows a bad player to succeed where they should have failed.
-
I have said this many times and I'll say it many more. Survivors reward camping. By trying to be altruistic against a camper and not just doing gens, the camper will very likely get more than one kill. It's entirely the survivors fault for not just getting gens done and punishing campers. Killers do it for a variety of reasons, it's the only way they'll get a kill aka they don't have the confidence that they will down another survivor, or they're having a bad day, or they just want to ruin a survivors day. Whatever the reason survivors are the reason it succeeds. The higher you rank up, the less people camp IME.
TL;DR git gud and rank up. Don't get caught. -
If the next map keeps up with the Japanese theme they teased, it could be one of those big traditional Japanese houses. Maybe it'll even have a garden section. That would be freaking sweet.
-
In some games, leavers or DC's are punished in game, which actually allows the game to punish these things on consoles. I think the devs need to implement this in the game build so these people who are essentially having a tantrum they missed their DS, or they got caught etc would actually be discouraged.

The blink is to close the distance, the second is to correct. (The best Nurses only really use two) The only way to escape Nurse is mind games and breaking LoS. Keep running at the first blink and if she charges a second run at her. Don't do this every single time as she'll fake you out and hit you. Use elevation to your advantage because it can be disoreintating for her to blink down or up. If she has a third blink or God forbid a fourth or fifth (terrible Nurses will often use that many to make up the enormous skill gap) you should count the blinks and adjust as necessary. If you're on a corn map, use the corn to get away, it's a nightmare for Nurse. And while if you get downed near the basement, it's gg, she can't take a blink near it else she blink down to the basement. Which can be a pain to blink back out of.
But the most important thing is breaking line of sight. If she can't see you she might try to use sound to locate you, and/or blink to where she thinks you are. If she can't see you, or hear you, the chances of escaping her go way up. Iron will is also incredibly useful for juking her while injured. -
I'm almost certain there's nothing BHVR can do about banning people on console. Sony/Microsoft can, but I don't think BHVR can anything unless they build a banning system in game for consistent DC's.

The killers have pretty much only just seen some love the last two patches and next patch, the survivors will once again be buffed, as if survivor wasn't already easy enough.
Shake off the rust, get out of rank 20, and then come back. Survivors were nerfed not long ago but they're still stupid strong if you have a half decent idea of what you're doing. Watch some videos, play longer, you'll soon realise that killers are still far, far from favoured. The Nurse is the only killer that can truly contend with serious survivors on a regular basis, as long as the person is good with her. -
Well R.I.P PS4 dbd as he can't really be banned except if Sony themselves do it.
-
Personally I think Clown is overall better than Huntress. Machine gun Huntress was probably her best build and while a Huntress who can still nail her hatchets is scary, I don't think it's top tier scary. She's still easily looped which is her biggest issue and she doesn't threaten a pallet drop quite like Billy does. Now a good Clown shuts down a lot of loops and can get hits any killer but the Nurse wouldn't usually get.
She used to be imo bottom on the top tier right alongside Myers but now not so much. Top of the mid tier. -
I see it as the opposite. At the low ranks, most killers I come across camp or patrol while the higher I climb the less and less I see campers/patrollers.WaterDragonSlayer said:What if just here me out you bring the perk "Borrowed Time" as a Survivor
If you're a killer and you don't like to camp because of the boring game play I recommend you bringing the perks "BBQ and Chili" and/or "Make Your Choice"
This is a high ranking problem because I don't see a lot of campers at low ranks.
These perks for high ranking Survivors and Killers maybe the to non camping matches. -
The doctors power is great for finding survivors, and to a certain degree preventing some actions (You have enough time to throw a pallet down but you can also avoid not being able to throw a pallet down by just running instead of waiting) but even so it doesn't help him in chases which is what matters.
The top killers are at the top for a reason.
Nurse ignores pallets and walls and she can cover considerable distance quickly so she can end chases almost immediately.
Billy can chainsaw sprint around the map, and also Insta down. Ends chases quickly.
Clown shuts down loops, thereby ending chases quicker.
Hag shuts down loops even harder than Clown while also having the ability to place traps she hard the survivor to and get a hit.
And while I don't think she's a top killer amymore, Huntress still has the ability to end chases very quickly if you're accurate. Same with Myers. Except for the accurate part. You don't need to be accurate just need to make good use of his EW.
The doctor had pretty much nothing that actually helps him chase and down survivors. He doesn't really shut down loops, he doesn't have a way to Insta down (not counting NOED which all killers can use) all he's really good for is finding people and delaying a game with overcharge and madness. -
Join the staring contest. Make him wait the full 2 minutes.
But for real, as the survivor, it sucks. Personally I'm confident enough in my ability to down survivors quickly enough that I just leave the hook 99% of the time. Which in my experience is better as it means people die faster and they feel pressured as I'm almost always going to be on them afterwards. Plus less people on gens is always good.
Did he camp the whole game? Because if he did, it's your team's fault as a whole. Campers only succeed if the survivors allow it, as if he's camping the first guy, three gens should pop before the first guy dies, and you should be just about halfway done on the last two by the time the killer can find anyone. -
I completely agree here. Those changes are QoL and don't really change what No Mither is about.

It's not worth getting a 4k if you have to do that crap. Wait for BHVR to do something, it's complete crap but that's just how it is.And like I said, sometimes you slug the 3rd guy and he'll just DC (since it's not punished) so the 4th guy gets the hatch.
Which is why, mostly I just don't bother with slugging the 3rd guy. I just hook the 3rd and if I find the last one before he find the hatch, I get him. No use stressing over stupid mechanics that I can't do anything about.

I've lost items or addons (mostly addons though) despite getting out with the item. It doesn't happen often, but it always sucks.

It's a fairly simple fix, if they even do it correctly. Make the highest ranked person be the one that matchmaking uses. That way if a rank 8 queues with a rank 20, they face rank 8's. Then again, we've seen rank 1 survivors go up against a rank 20 with barely anything and vice versa. So they'd have to fix their ######### matchmaking first.

RenAndStimpak said:Speaking of signaling to other survivors you're being camped, how does the arm flailing work on PS4? Is that a thing at all? I thought you could just try to unhook yourself. I've read on Reddit people are doing that
Thd thing is it is not universal for signaling camping. Most survivors I encounter nowadays use the flailing arms to signal that they can get unhooked savely.
I personally use it to signal that I'm being camped, that was what I read, so it's what I always did.
-
The game is brutal for newcomers, especially for people that haven't watched much of it on youtube or twitch. But the simple fact is that the higher you rank up, the less likely you are to come across camping killers. They tend not to do well when everyone else does gens and they depip. Camping only ever genuinely works when survivors allow it to. By not just doing generators, survivors enable camping killers because they've learned if they camp, stupid survivors (especially overly-altruistic SWF groups) will just crowd around the hook and no gens get done, so the cycle continues. IMO these killers also aren't confident enough in their own ability to actually down someone again that they just secure their kill. If a killer camps you, don't DC or #########, if they're occupied with you, everyone else gets free reign and they will lose.
Just keep playing, watch videos and try and notice why they do the things they do, don't try and emulate them, because you won't understand why they do what they do and you will likely do it wrong. Once you get better at survivor, you'll actually realize how stupidly overpowered survivors can be. Also try playing killer. It's rough, but you'll understand a bit more why some killers just camp.

I think that looping is mostly fine, but long loops like building loops, the cow tree loops etc etc need to go. Bamboozle is a bandaid fix and doesn't address the real issue. Either make it so the windows on these loops close off after one vault or add a door somewhere near the windows to shut that stuff down. The small little loops though? They're fine.
I have fallen in love with Q&Q and Lithe (Lithe is better than SB, fite me) and since I tried dance with me, the three perks are staple picks for me. Personally looping is something I only use to survive until I can get somewhere I can adequately juke. And even before I used Q&Q, Lithe, DWM I was able to juke killers. Sometimes though, juking just don't work. So looping is all that's left. -
Honestly that's the only thing about the survivors emblems I'd change. You should get a huge bonus for escaping while completely avoiding the killer. Similar to how not going down is a guaranteed iridescent unbroken, not being seen by the killer at all should at least be a gold evader.
-

I completely agree. I honestly wouldn't care about a new killer and survivor if they would optimize the game better. At least a stable 30fps on console would be nice. Hire more people if need be, just optimize it plz.

I hate the current mechanic as it's a no skill escape 99% of the time. But an example of where it's somewhat skillful is one of my survivor games where everyone was going down instantly, while trying to save someone else and no gens were being done at all as everyone was either down or hooked for 90% of the game so I used them as a distraction so I could finish two gens and escape. I deserved that escape as I literally did both gens from 0-100% singlehandedly. The first change they had on the ptb where the killer could close the hatch and only a gen being done could open it back up and so the survivor could escape, ends up just being equally no skill for the killer, as survivors only option at that point is to try and do a gen (only really work if the killer is stupid) or give up. Call me a survivor main if you want, but it's just as terrible as the current hatch mechanic.
My first idea is like their initial solution, where the killer can close the hatch and it can be reopened but this time permanently if a survivor gets a gen, additionally the survivor can go through an interaction that is either as long as opening the exit gates (20 seconds I believe) or shorter but with difficult skillchecks that also works similarly to jigsaw boxes, where failing a skillcheck alerts the killer and restarts your progress. So essentially rewarding a survivor that can either get a gen done or take the risk of opening the hatch back up.
Alternatively, killer close the hatch and a timer starts. Both side can see the timer where the hatch icon would be, represented by a clock and the killers terror radius shrinks to 8 meters. The survivors breathe louder and if the survivor can last 2 minutes, the hatch opens back up. This is supposed to reward survivors that are good at stealth and avoiding the killer but also allows the killer to actually sneak up on the survivor because of virtually no terror radius telling you where the killer is. Obviously the huntress' lullaby radius also shrinks considerably, same with Freddys. Also killers can find survivors a bit easier due to them breathing louder. M&A works with this too to reduce the TR to essentially nothing. -
Enough with nerfing any killer. We finally have a killer that while not Nurse level, is still really good on a base level. As good imo as Hag and Billy.
Git gud. -
Vault master Myers is the only time fire up is worth it.
-
I didn't see it as problematic. For starters, waiting at a pallet to try and get the stun should be risk vs reward. Either try for the riskier choice and try to get a stun and maybe get hit or throw it down with virtually no risk and no reward. This along with all the other survivor buffs they talked about is just them caving after survivors whined about the first two killer sided patches in forever.
-
It's the Killers Equivalent to Decisive strike. It allows a bad player to get more than they deserve. DS nullifies getting caught and NOED allows a killer to get kills even though they couldn't otherwise.
-
Gen times themselves are fine imo. But there needs to be something else to distract survivors. Like another objective or a requirement for gens to be started. I also think that they need to either give us a perk slot just for hex perks, or just build ruin into killers as base.
-
Honestly instead of having special gens and hooks, why not just increase the goal by a ton and have it apply to every gen/hook in a match? It never made sense to me why it had to be very specific hooks/gens when it allows trolls to be trollish.
-
Only if they play killer at rank 1. And do a full rotation of the killers to see how difficult it is with the killers not called Nurse.
-
I saw an idea that a 5th slot for only hex perks. So you could have Ruin and then 4 perks, or devour and 4 perks. But I honestly would be fine with 5 perks slots and a hex perk slot.
The killer should equal 4 survivors, not barely one. However anything above 6 would be overwhelming and probably too much. -
If you could see who the killer was, you could immediately change to perks and items that counter them. Which is your point but also the counter argument. It would be too strong in a game already ruled by survivors.
-
I think make insta heals like how BNP was. Crazy fast, but you gotta hit a number of skill checks.
-
The only thing that should happen to Nurse, is making it so that she can't get more than 3 blinks. She should never have more than 3. It breaks her balance and makes it so a bad Nurse can make mistakes and still have room to correct it. 3 blinks hits that sweet spot of giving a little wriggle room with mistakes but if you mess up a blink you're punished. Plus people who have her down pat, can easily go with just 2 and be fine. 4+ blinks is ridiculous and stupid. But no less than 3.

Lithe because I like choosing when to get a speed boost. (Idk if its considered off meta but I rarely see Lithe and Balanced landing so I'm counting it)
Quick and quiet is great for juking and I've even lost many chases accidentally. It can be so confusing for the killer. Plus locker jukes are hilarious. I'm excited to try dance with me with it for some great jukes.
Alert is criminally underrated. It's great for juking and avoiding killers and removes the mindgame from some areas.
Funnily these are all on my current survivor build. -
I haven't played the update yet but it's looking good for the health and longevity of the game. Killers have less pressure and survivors won't be able to rely on crutch perks as much. Except well DS. The exhaustion nerf is fine imo. I've never needed exhaustion perks to keep a chase going and I've always had plenty of chances to stop running, which means I'll get Lithe back eventually.
Maybe it's too late but they're finally going in the right direction. -
No bunny Min. UNPLAYABLE.
-
If anyone thinks it's fine in it's current state, then you're blind or an entitled survivor main. DS essentially negates a survivors mistake and against a good survivor adds a ton of time to a chase. People liken it to BBQ and Chilli but BBQ rewards a killer for successfully completing their objective not failing/making a mistake.
-
Rework. Shouldn't even need to be said. He's not fun for either side, 7 goddamn seconds to enter dream world at base is pathetic and the person that thought that would be a good idea should be slapped with a 2 feet tall dildo. Also his power isn't representative of who and what freddy is. They should just take him back to the drawing board and change everything about him.
-
Well, I mean it's all just part of the game. There's way to prevent, or counter flashlights, if you know there's a flashlight in game, look at a wall or wait to hit a survivor until they're near somewhere you can face to avoid flashlights and if you legitimately cannot catch someone for the entire game, you just need to just suck it up princess. You aren't going to get kills every game, just like survivors are going to survive every game.Skorpanio said:@shadowsfall42 said:
All I'm seeing is you being mad about people just playing the game. How would you feel about a survivor looping you all game and flashlight saving every single teammate.
Making you end up with 0 kills.
If I get a no kill game, I just move on. TC is just mad because people are playing the game the way the devs intend it. -
The only things you can do to combat it is dribbling to a hook, dribbling to basement stairs and drop them off edge. Dribbling is countered by a single bodyblock though. Enduring and just eating the DS. Alternatively you could keep them running until they're near enough to a hook but that's a spotty choice.
Personally I prefer to just eat it and get it out of the way. The real problem I've got with DS is non obsession DS. Wastes like triple the time obsession DS does and no way to know if they have it. -
Camping only works when survivors allow it to. If instead of hanging around waiting for an opportunity to unhook, survivors left and did gens, guarantee only one person would die. It's too effective at low ranks because survivors don't understand when it's time to leave.
-
All I'm seeing is you being mad about people just playing the game.
-
I'd rather he as well as other killers get a buff so the Nurse isn't the only killer that doesn't have to rely on survivor mistakes to win.
-
In situations where survivors bodyblock, I just drop the survivor and hit them and if they want to stick around and take another hit or provide a new easy target, let them.. Bodyblocking is rarely useful and aside from WGLF stacks, it's not usually worth it to bodyblock a killer. The only times when it's useful imo is when the killer has to travel a long way for a hook and would have otherwise gotten it or if someone has decisive. Giving killers an insta down while carrying a survivor is way too much though.
-
She's definitely going to hurt from these nerfs. I can't wrap my head around why they'd nerf her addons, if she's already getting a nerf from the tinkerer change. If anything buff her addons. We shouldn;t be nerfing killers but buffing them.
-
In my experience, most DS users are one of two sides. Either they're so good at looping and running the killer that they honestly shouldn't use DS at all, because they're already god tier or they're the weakest survivor on the team. You can usually tell which is which by not only how long it takes for them to go down initially, but also by how long it takes them to go down after using DS.
