If consoles were supposed to use a keyboard and mouse they would come with it. As is you need an adapter, though I believe Sony came out with a compact k+m that is compatible without one a while back.
I think it shouldn't be a viable option in the first place because if you're gonna use a k+m on a console, why not just buy a PC? People argued over this a lot back when Overwatch first came out. People do it for games like Overwatch and R6 Siege on consoles because they want a considerable advantage over everyone else, knowing that a majority are using a controller as is intended with the console and that they can't compete with PC players.
It doesn't affect DBD as much as it does other games because aside from Huntress and Nurse it's not really that hard to aim your attacks. Though consoles suffer far worse issues than aiming with stick, like not being consistently even 30fps. Wouldn't be surprised if the game struggled to reach 20fps. K+m on console is still cheating though. All the devs I've seen talk about it, agree too. -
There's an easy solution, killers can close the hatch and there's two ways to open it back up. Do a gen (very difficult but possible) and interacting with it. Takes 30 (possibly 40) seconds to open and progress is saved (So you can leave it and come back) but progress decays immediately. Or takes 10 seconds but requires you to go through a number of difficult skill checks. Think overcharge sized skillchecks.
And once it's reopened it cannot be closed again. Opening it back up means the survivor worked for it. -
He's in better shape than Freddy, though considering even Nea is a better killer than Freddy it's not saying much.Morter said:What the [BAD WORD] guys, i've been playing leatherface from rank 20 to rank 7 and besides the problem every single killer has (which is getting pallet looped til you want to punch your monitor like summit1g) it's in pretty good shape bubba boy
Bubba needs a lot of love, he was one of the killers that benefited from the old tinkerer the most and since the rework for it he's SoL. He gets slowed down a lot when he revs his chainsaw, he doesn't really speed up much more when he does it. That means unlike Billy who can force pallets, survivors don't need to worry about that as much with LF.
What needs to be changed is allow him to move the same speed Billy does when charging his chainsaw, make him more a little faster while chainsawing and overall reduce the charge time a little to compensate for the tinkerer rework. -
This makes more sense too. Original killers also seem to be in general better too. Plus they don't need to contact the license holders if they want to give them cosmetics, so financially it makes more sense.MegaWaffle said:I believe the team said they wanted to take a step back from licensed killers for a bit and focus on original ideas. It would be very unlikely we would get any licensed killer from any recently released movies as the "fresher?" the character is the more expensive the license would be.

Personally I don't like Predator on her. Stridor however could be incredible.

I think the second one should stay lit but instead of 60 seconds of exposed, make it like 20 or 30 when it's cleansed. So it's risky and still a major threat but the survivors have some leeway to work with. The full duration of it a second time would be huge and potentially overpowered.
Alternatively instead of the second totem staying dull after the first is cleansed, there's a cool down and after the cooldown a random totem lights up with the same effect. Maybe the CD could be like 90 seconds. -
All they're doing is rewarding farming and farmers. If they want to punish it, allow us to kick a farmer to cancel the save.
-
Old BT was worse. It gave both the unhooked and the unhooker the borrowed time effect. It was braindead and rewarded unhooking in the killers face, especially end game when the gates are open. Both survivors got out with no issue. Now BT at least is completely altruistic, trading yourself for the hooked.
Don't even compare the two. DS isn't a hard skillchecks to hit, essentially punishes the killer for winning the chase and wastes a lot of time. It allows a bad survivor to do better than they could and can literally be the difference between the killer winning or losing the game at high ranks. -
The issue that some seem unable to grasp with opt out of swf is that the only people that won't opt out of swf are people who are new, and people who don't know any better. Very few experience killers would not opt out of it, because as we all know, swf breaks the balance.
So what will happen when basically 99% of killers opt out of swf? Matchmaking will take so long that survivors will just jump ship. Thereby killing the game. It sounds good on paper, but realistically speaking the game will die off, because a vast majority play with friends. And if people can't play with friends they'll drop it for a game where they can play with friends. -
I liked Lithe much better than Sprint burst even before the exhaustion nerf. Pair it with DWM, Q&Q and you can just disappear. I call it the hoodini.
Dead hard has it's applications and with proper usage, timing it can be devastating, turning what is an almost guaranteed down into safely reaching a pallet or window. That said it's pretty buggy in my experience. -

ALL lunge ranges are the same. Freddy has exactly the same lunge as Billy or the Trapper.
The only exception is Myers in EW 1. He has a shorter lunge. But EW 2 and 3 are the same as every other killer.Right on all but one thing. EW3 has a longer lunge.

I love the idea of hatches in the floor that you can hide in. The traps survivors can use already sound way more fun and interesting than pallets. I keep saying they had a lot of potential with the Gideon Meat Plant, all the Saw styled things we could have had in The Game. Plus they should have map specific objectives, like The Game could have had you going through Saw traps in order to flick a switch for the exit gates. (not that The Game needs to be harder for survivors)

The other day I played LF for a daily, and the squad I was up against (way too coordinated to be anything but full team, plus were all 2 rank 2 to my rank 12) sabo'd hooks when they could and for the first 2 minutes were perfectly rotating aggro to save each other and were perfect in saving from hooks and blocking. I was helpless even as Leatherface. Was it toxic? Hell no. I expected tea bags at the exit or messages after but nope. They were just coordinated and excellent players.
People in this community cry toxic at anything to justify being toxic back or anything they don't like or even as an excuse to them losing. No community is more toxic. (Not even LoL, OW, Console Siege casual communities are this bad) I just laugh it off and move on, be cause at the end of the day, they don't matter. -
Because they believe theyre entitled to survive. Which is reinforced by their name. Survivors. BHVR should change the name to prey.
-
The big issue isn't with how many hooks it takes. I think a lot could be fixed by eliminating or greatly shortening the big loops, like building loops, cow tree etc. Because chase time can sometimes reach a minute or more the slim time the killers have is not enough. If chases are shorter and more reliant on losing and juking the killer instead of just finding the next pallet, the killer would have more time to do everything. Plus I wouldn't mind seeing the killer shack only having the pallet if the basement is there. So the times it's not there, it's not a massive loop with zero downsides whatsoever.
-
Flashlight saves are one of the few survivor things that require genuine skill and timing. Pre-faster pickup, it was too easy to get. You had so much time to get from your hiding place into position for it, now it's risky but pays off if you can get it. I'm not great at getting FL saves because of the timing but if even I can get them this patch, you just need to git gud. An extra 40 seconds on gens will just make an ordinarily mundane task so much more boring.
-
Nerfing two of the games top predators is going to gut the killers side and kill the game.
There are three major issues with the game:
1. Survivors can extend a chase for far too long with optimal routing and efficient use of pallets.
2. Survivors have a significant number of second chances that are somewhat bypassed by a mori. (Eliminating a survivor after only being hooked once is a massive boost to the killer but doesn't necessarily constitute a victory condition for the killer)
3. Generators being the single objective of victory and are also rather quick to finish is the absolute biggest issue with the game because it's the thing that determines how much time the killer has to work with.
Now for the first point, a potential fix is to change the hitbox so that looping is less efficient at reducing the different in movespeed. Also reducing the number of pallets and adding more objects or hiding spots to encourage people to juke and avoid the killer, rather than just running them around like it's a game of follow me. Chases last too long for the amount of time killers have to do their job. Also fixing loosing bloodlust when you shouldn't would help.
The second point would be helped somewhat by the previous fix as chases would be shorter overall.
The third point is by far the biggest issue. At low ranks, survivors will be lucky to do all gens within a 5 minute window, in fact it's not uncommon for all 5 gens to take upwards of 10 minutes because low ranks play scared, and really inefficiently. However at mid-high ranks, without Hex: Ruin games generally last no more than 5 minutes, 3 at best because of just how optimal survivors are.
Adding more generators to complete or increasing the time to complete will not fix anything, low ranks already struggle with getting gens done, it'll just kill the low rank audience, and make high ranks more boring. What the game needs is either objectives to complete that either connect the to be conpleted/completed gens with a central power source or the exit gates. Something else that requires the player to do or find something to go towards that goal of escaping. Other ideas are fuel for the generators, or actual parts or even finding switches to throw. The community has no end of ideas and would be more than happy to help them test them on the ptb. (It would very likely be something that would fill the ptb better than a new chapter. I would personally much rather them do an overhaul of the games core mechanics rather than new content.
I meme it, but doing Dead by Daylight: Operation health would be incredible for the game. Stabilizing the fps on all platforms (console needs at least a stable 30fps) improving the games core systems to be more reliable, plus changing and adding objectives and improving the killers who need a boost. (Not all killers need to be rank 1 viable, Wraith for example will probably never be rank 1 material but making their gameplay better for the killer would be huge) I mean given that their income isn't necessarily tied to chapter releases anymore, they have more wiggle room to perform an Operation Health.

I love Huntress but don't play her anymore because controller makes it difficult to accurately aim. Add in a crosshair, that's all she needs on console.GT_Legend2 said:Not something to change the values and balancing, but helpful tools would be nice. A crosshair for Huntress on console would be nice, especially considering her skill cap for a controller
Nurse is easily fixed by a more steady 30fps. -
Open your eyes mate, you're blinder than Ray charles in a dark alley. The issue isn't that it's unfair (it is, swf gives a tremendous avantage) but a large percentage of the player base plays almost solely with friends. Which means that if opt out of swf was a thing, the game would essentially die as no one with sense would want to play with swf, meaning increased queue times, meaning people drop the game. Christ, just about everyone knows it's bs but the game won't survive without it. The devs know this, which is why it'll never happen.trendyfartknocker said:What I'm seeing:

The voice chat outside of the game is unfair. The ignorance on display here suggesting that that unfairness is perfectly fine is pathetically astounding.

I think that addons for killers should last a certain amount of games, with how many games depending on the rarity. Survivors can make their items and addons last forever as long as they don't die or use all the charges of the item, which means they can fairly comfortably get the items and addons they want, while killers use theirs in just one game. Sure killers get overall more points but it doesn't even come close to making up for the one use addons.
-
It's easy to counter BBQ. Either get within range, run in one direction when the person is hooked count to 4 then change direction, or just put a gen between you and the hook. And this is for any killer, not just Billy.
Are you joking about that nerf? Cause it would neuter Billy. The only reason he's high tier is because of his map presence, the instadown chainsaw which requires you to actually hit them (not that easy against survivors who know what they're doing) and because of that mobility and momentum.. Take that away even if it's just for 30 seconds and he loses any momentum and any map presence which is nearly a third of a generators completion. And then why use him at all? Because you would have to choose between ending a chase quickly, or pressuring gens. You'd get no momentum and no one would use Billy.
Billy doesn't need a nerf. Hell even if killers were in a place where we could actually talk about nerfing killers and it wouldn't be a ridiculously stupid idea, the only thing that should ever happen is his ms being reduced to 110% because he has enough mobility with his chainsaw, doesn't need to be base speed too. And that's only after killers are in a good spot, not just better but actually good.
-
Wiggle is fine where it is. What needs to happen is hooks being better spread out. I've seen hooks spawn within 5 meters of each other (hooks should not spawn within 15, even 20 meters of each other) and I've also sometimes seen no hooks spawn within 20ish meters. (That's usually in one of the corners of the map. Remove a few hooks and spreading them out better would improve gameplay for both sides. You might just barely wiggle out on occasion, but doing so would require a lot of spacial awareness and proper routing. It would also mean that survivors can't just run to a corner that is far enough away from any hook that wiggling out works. Remove a few hooks and spread them out better. I don't think it would have many negative issues but at the very least they could put it on the PTB and see how it goes.
-
Why would it stall in the entity's realm? If it were real life maybe. In terms of in game mechanics, what purpose would it solve but to nerf Billy? Which it would also reduce the mind games possible with him.
-
The only thing that should happen to her is to rework some of her addons. Specifically the ones that gives her more than 3 blinks. She should never have more than 3. But she needs 2 blinks base. The first to cover distance and the second to readjust. Third blink is training wheels then you once you get good with her you use other addons.
The Nurse is the only killer that is only as good as the player. Her victory is completely on her own skill. Every other killer need to capitalize on survivor mistakes.
-
This would kill the game as the only killers who wouldn't opt out are those that don't care and those that don't know better. Queue times would become insane and in most cases these SWF groups would go find a different game.
-
Ruin is the only thing killers can do to slow down gens. And even then, totems on most maps have terrible placement so most of the time ruin is destroyed fairly early and even as early as the first 30 seconds of the map. That said great skillchecks aren't even that hard to hit. Survivors work through ruin quite often. Without ruin most games would be 3 minutes long.
So you just need to git gud. You're clearly new to the game so play more and improve instead of crying for nerfs. That's the reason for Freddy's current state. -
This community is the most toxic community I've ever seen. I've been harassed and told to end my life more times playing this game than any other game. Hell, it's not even this bad with fighting games or LoL. And that's saying something. Yeah, it's honestly not the majority of players but I've yet to get a message from a killer being toxic (If console had post game chat, it would be a different story) while every other bit of toxicity has been from survivors mad about one thing of another.
I like to tease and poke the toxic people because they always give me a good laugh, but I always report and block afterwards. Given that you're on PC, just report and move on. It's unfortunately part of this community, so it's not going anywhere. Gotta take the good with the bad. -
You're thinking of bloodhound, not predator. Predator tightens the scratch marks left by survivors.KiraElijah said:Lightweight = Scratch Marks

Even if you use a perk slot recovering exhaustion while running should not be the same speed as of you were standing still or walking. It was well out of line before it changed as it was possible to have 2-3 sprint bursts in a single chase if they didn't get you quick enough.Luigifan64 said:@shadowsfall42 said:
I like the sound of recovering exhaustion while running, but it would have to be really slow, like 10-20% of the speed it would recover if not running. It might be a little too good though, but at least recovering exhaustion while running would require a perk and thus you can create a build around it.It wouldn't necessarily have to be slower, but it might be too much to have it decrease it more than what the cooldown used to be. That being said, I would want it to have the 20% decrease while running.

When I come across them (Nurse is rare on console) the Nurse is easily my favourite killer to face. If they're good, it's terrifying and I actually feel what survivors should. Fear. Not as much as a good Nurse but not far behind is a good Hag. She's downright scary when played well.
Personally fun is balanced, strong killers are fun to play and fun to play against. I'm still working on my Nurse, but my Billy/Hag are devastating. -
@Hodderfodder said:
IMO one of Thanatophobia's biggest issues is that it gets weaker as you kill survivors. You are removing a survivor you can't injure anymore. So the perk should get more powerful as more survivors die. Since it's literally "Fear of death" after all. This is the sad truth of it. Not only are the numbers barely noticeable but it actually hurts the perks as survivors die.

It's good for the memes. Vault god Myers.

It's the only thing I would change at all. Her power doesn't warrant being that slow. She doesn't have teleporting like the Nurse or Hag, she's not ranged like the Huntress. That said, it's probably best to wait until she's been out for a while before changing her.
-
I think at this point cut the overall efficiency down to 20%, maybe 15% make it louder, make it so if you don't heal it to full within 5 seconds it decays at a rate of 5% per second and make it base for survivors. Oh and within a minute of getting hit, you heal slower. This will somewhat reward injuring multiple survivors and make mangled excellent as it takes forever to heal.
Not only will it be riskier to do (louder so it's easier to hear) it will take much more time to heal yourself so you have a choice. Do I look for a survivor to heal me and get it done fast but potentially get caught by the killer? Or do I go hide in a corner and heal myself but take a while and thus not on a gen. Could be a start but self care is stupid as it is and needs a nerf. -
I think that in situations like this, a timer for 3 minutes should start. If the final survivor doesn't escape in that time while both the exit gates and hatch are open, their aura lights up like a christmas tree, the killers TR is set to 0, oh and if you're caught you lose all of your earned bloodpoints. Either that or just give the killer a button to concede which ends the game immediately, doesn't give survivors escape points, or allow them to keep their item.
Get out while you can or risk losing your bloodpoints and items. Especially since your options are open and available but you choose not to leave. -
They changed this in the latest update. Predator now narrows scratchmarks, and no longer keeps scratch marks around for longer.Vankruze said:@MikeLatin7 said:

No, predator leaves scratch marks for longer and lightweight makes them disappear faster they are a direct counter to each other. Bloodhound should not even be brought up it has absolutely no relativity to lightweight.

Even putting aside all the issues like two different sources of sound, the game barely runs dealing with only screen.

I think that they should shift the focus from being having visual awareness to audio awareness. Make doing gens keep the camera on the gens and increase the sounds made by killers especially ones that can have zero TR like MIchael. This might require some adjustment, especially with how tinkerer is currently.
-
I think that all she needs for the moment is base 115% movespeed and possibly the ability to see some blood in her phase walk (but not all blood, maybe just a quarter of the blood that normally appears) and see how she goes from there.

What do you mean for slowing the game down? Each match takes between 15-20 minutes or so. I think that is about the sweet spot. I could be about off on that, but I always feel like I can get 4 matches in an hour.Maybe at rank 20. Climb higher and there are plenty of games where it's no longer than 5 minutes.
I remember a while back, seeing an idea that IIRC was, repair speed is scaled based on how many survivors are alive. It might just be what is needed to appropriately slow the game down.
-
While I do think hit for hit should be a thing, not to this degree. Instead of just punishing greedy survivors fishing for a stun it punishes everyone as there are hits connecting when they shouldn't.
Bloodlust nerf is dumb, and if it gets through base kindred will be dumb unless it's only tier 2. They still have a long way to go until killers not called the Nurse can truly compete with survivors. The only explanation as to why they're not continuing to buff killers is because survivors been whining and they've caved to the pressure. -
Samurai, Ninja, Oni etc definitely wouldn't fit. But Kuchisake-onna aka Slit Mouthed Woman would. There are certainly more Japanese monsters that would also fit imo. Like Tengu, Kitsune (specifically Yako or probably better known as Nogitsune) Joro-Gumo is something that could be a nice bridge between humanoid and monster, and be a start towards more monstrous killers but unlikely as it's a lot of work to animate.
I would be very disappointed for it to be something generic like a Samurai or Oni. -
Because they need therapy.
-
BNP was essentially as if the game started with 4 gens, instead of 5. I'll admit though, 25% is a little low for an ultra rare add-on. So I'd either up it or lower it's rarity.
-
The fastest way to level is to get the perks BBQ & Chilli from the killer Leatherface, and We're gonna live forever from the survivor David King. These give you a bloodpoint boost when you get them in the blood web, equip them and fulfill the conditions for the tokens.
Now that's just if you want to play both sides. Playing killer gets you more overall points than playing survivor, and BBQ on top of that is probably the most efficient way to get the most points with little time available. That aside there isn't much else to do but play. I do believe there is a double BP event coming up. -
It takes skill and positioning but he can shut down loops when done properly. Just throwing bottles at them in the hopes slowing down a survivor doesnt work well, but correct gas placement is imo very strong. I still think people are underestimating him, and I would place him higher than Huntress but lower than Nurse, Hag. And he may not have the map presence or the innate ability to instadown like Billy but I think they're equal for different things.
-
I think in addition to making it so that someone that DC's always loses their item and addons, they should build an in game function where if you DC too often, you get a suspension that is additive so repeated offences give you higher and higher suspension times, until it ends up in a ban. (The only way to lower this is by a number of consecutively completed games but once you're banned, you're banned) and if someone DC's while they're down, getting picked up or on the shoulder of the killer, all players should get a BP boost and the player's body that DC'd is still in play, so they can be picked up and thrown on a hook. This counts for BBQ so they get that stack and the aura reading.
