It appears you've queued up for the wrong killer lobbies you want the ones above instead.

I have a prediction: Dedicated servers won't change anything, except survivors will realize how bad they are and then proceed to blame the servers when they still get hit at windows and pallets. Seen it in lots of games, and DbD won't be any different.

Lots of people are gonna get humbled by dedicated servers.

You can't seriously believe that nonsense can you, if you do I've got prime beachfront property on Venus to sell you where the air's breathable.

If you actually believe that then you're in for a world of surprises as a killer because now without the crutch of latency you're going to show your true lack of skill.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

@powerbats ok, I concur that the scenario you described shouldn’t result in hits. I can only presume that occurs because of latency.

Yeah that's where a lot of the complaints form both sides arise hits that should hit and those that shouldn't. When dedicated servers come online most of the complaints and instances should be gone.

There'll still be some outliers those furthest from the server will still experience it but then also be able to understand how much of a timing difference there'll be.

They would never do that for two reasons, one, it provides a significant advantage over players who choose to keep the soundtrack on. And two, there’s not enough ambient sound in the game to play without music. You’d just hear footsteps and breathing with dead silence since there’s no wind effects or crickets or anything.

True but perhaps give the option if in dying state to turn off the music for survivors in that situation ie no unbreakable/NM. For the others give choices for your own music selection so for instance you could have the following options.

    1. default music plays as normal.
    2. default music but rotates through the various soundtracks.
    3. default music but a selection of your choices as well to rotate through.
    4. your choice of music that could be played perhaps even a playlist that could rotate depending on what you're doing. I.E. no ones around just wandering, chase, hits, downs, hooks, mori's etc.

Just throwing this out there, but would you like it if Trapper had an ability to temporarily lower his movement speed so he can safely step over his own traps?

You'd be better off just stopping and picking the trap up given how fast they've made it and besides that would be a free bypass.

@powerbats that’s nonsense. There’s never a disparity as large as 5 feet between the killer and survivor immediately after a window vault. 2 feet at most. The killers don’t have T-Rex arms.

Then you've obviously never gotten hit 5 feet away or gottne hits past that and if we want to talk actual physics then the entire game is full of it. If you want to talk about hit that should hit and those that shouldn't then you're still wrong when a hit shouldn't connect it shouldn't connect.

By the same token a hit that should connect and doesn't should still connect which dedicated servers should help address somewhat. Now if you're standing right next to the window when they vault yes that should hit.

But if the run and fast vault and you're not close to the window you don't get to magically clip part of your body through the window frame and get a hit. Now if you think so then you're obviously not taking into account you're swinging your weapon in a downward swing.

Logic clearly dictates you're going to hit the window frame with your weapon thus MISSING the hit. Now logic also clearly dictates that if you lunge your lunge is going to be slower and thus unless you're right on their ass when they vault YOU'RE going to miss.

This concludes today's lesson in logic and physics.

Lucky you, 1/3 of SWFs I encounter is using OoO especially after DS change I witness a higher use of the perk.

This may be a regional meta thing.

I can only report from my own experiences.

PC and NA and I'm playing with and against groups from Asia to SA and sometimes even UK but it's still rare. Now pre DS rework and back before they nerfed exhaustion in general it was pretty common.

  • Wait so MOM did all this then the last 2+ year of toxicity and abusive builds by both sides have just been an illusion?

  • @[Deleted User] said:

@sailormars I don’t think they should remove hits through open windows. We’re talking about physics here. There’s no legitimate reason a hit shouldn’t connect, except for whining survivors wanting free escapes.

Trapper: “oh I’m sorry chap, didn’t see you on the other side of the open window. I promise not to reach my machete holding arm through it.”

You're joking right if we're talking physics here your hit that shouldn't have connected because it shouldn't land still shouldn't connect. Go out and run up to a wind and see what happens, you won't be able to magically swing 5 feet into the window.

The only one whining here is obviously the killer aka you wanting something they don't deserve similar to fake pallet hits before. If I as a survivor vault through a window and I'm 3 feet past it before you even get to the window you don't deserve a hit.

Any person that knows anything about physics will tell you the same thing, if you'r not supposed to get a hit you shouldn't get a hit.

Yeah that they seem to have no idea what a win is is ridiculous, right?

They'll never tell you the real limit due to how easy it would be to abuse it.

This plus it still has to be a high % of x games within x time frame and they probably also track stuff like local dc rates.

This is the issue I'm seeing with this as well. Particularly if you're a stealthier player, your playstyle gets dictated by a perk that somebody else on your team is using. One person on the team using Object of Obsession means the killer gets to know your location almost all the time.

As a solo player this would indeed suck and as swf I never run this and have rarely if ever seen people running this, especially since the update. You've also got people running it for the adept achievement.

The best solution would be to remove the perk and put something else in it's place along with an adept.

  • Agreed but I'd also like to see the ability to mute chase music like say when it's 1v1 and or dying state on ground. Perhaps have settings where it could auto rotate in set time increments to keep music fresh.

What would really be cool is to be able to have you own music choices, like Mortal Kombat for mori's etc.

no it needs a much bigger penalty

make it so you instantly die on next hook after proccing, a huge second chance requires a huge risk for taking it

I wouldn't go that far but you could make it so that if you're exhausted ie DH/SB/AD etc you can't get stacks. Also if any insta heal was used on you you have a lockout for 30/60 seconds for Stypic Agent/Syringe being used before you can get stacks.

    @NoShinyPony

Pffff, what a joke... STBFL and PWYF literally protect the obsession...

Survivors should be penalized way harder for being the obsession, just like OP said there should be at least some kind of debuff like slower repairing speed or something significant like that...

So when you run an obsession perk and or the survivor isn't they should suffer just to please you why again? If anything being the obsession and you're not running an obsession perkhould give you a bonus.

Since if you're the obsession the killer is most often going to tunnel you out of the game and usually your team gets a huge debuff. You've got Rancor, STBFL etc which you complain about but not when you get kills from it.

In fact you all probably run said obsession perks and yet complain about them yet get kills and remain silent. Oh and before you start with the crap I don't run any obsession perks playing survivor and still am the obsession at time.

I get hardcore tunneled till I'm dead all because i'm the obsession or the killer is running one yet I suffer the effects with no downsides for the killer.

The only obsession perk as killer I'll run is Rancor when I'm going with a mind game build, other than that I don't bother.

@Nickenzie It looks to me more like they're doing damage control. I suspect the Plague DLC didn't sell well enough and the Evil Dead one brought too much negativity to be worth it.

Don't worry though. I am sure you'll swallow the upcoming "We're working on it!" posts.

The problem is that how do you do it the best way possible without screwing over most of your player base? This is what most of you fail to understand, the vast majority of the player base is casual

There's issues that can't be addressed until dedicated servers go live, there's issues that are waiting on Epic Games to fix their screwed up update that hosed everyone. The same issue that's plagued every major release they do and it usually takes them a few months to get it fixed.

They're hiring lots of people including coders to work on the game and if all the experts on here have the answers they need to apply. That or create their own game and show they can run a company better.

    @powerbats

    😂😂😂

You are full of bs. Every killer knows how to counter this perk, just play Billy, here is the thing... IIdont want to rely on only 1 character to counter 1 perk, that's the problem here. + Why the hell is the killer getting punished if he is doing what he is meant to do? (Apply preassure)

Also, killers never asked for the healing nerf, we asked for genrush since the beginning of the game but we got that instead...

And btw, nobody is complaining anymore about exhaustion perks, they are balanced now.

The only one full of BS here is you yet again, Spirit , Noed, Bubba, Freddy etc but hey cleanse the totems. Mori's, a lot of you all brag about how many you have.

You're joking right, there's a few banned accounts plus a lot of the killer mains on here have as recently as a week or so ago been whining for a SC nerf. Then before the whole of healing got nerfed there was countless rant threads about nerfing SC and healing in general.

Also don't give me the no ones complaining about Exhaustion perks nonsense anymore, this forum is littered with BL/AD/DH/SB etc threads and posts still.

I've been saying for quite sometime insta heals should have some requirement to use just like SC when I said you shouldn't be able to stop at a pallet and heal then next one.

They're currently looking at doing just that with insta heals or some form of that and why is it that killers can regularly 4k with Bubba/Freddy Huntress etc at red ranks? It's not because the tired old BS excuse the survivors were potatoes.

It's because the killer knows their killer and how to path tiles correctly, when to chase and when not too etc.

And if she’s on a gen with no clear line of sight to the killer? Sometimes it’s impossible to stealth away. Also unless the killer is really bad they are going to find someone and that first someone could always be you.

Facecamping when the gates are open I can understand but when it’s the first person you catch? Usually those are the killers that say ‘ggez’ endgame chat looking for salt, they end up disappointed in my games.

Pig/ Myers/Nurse/Billy/Bitter Murmur/Tinkerer/Spirit/ the list goes on and if allt hse so called killers giving advice want to be smartasses here.

Give up all your perks and play without any aura detection perks of any kind, so no BBQ/Whispers/Spies/Surveillance/ Mirror Myers/Amanda's aura perk/no Doctor Shock Therapy/ M&A no nada zip zilch etc.

Now go find those survivors that try and stealth off when they hear your terror radius.

  • @Delfador said:

I am a survivor main and I approve this thread.

The most important thing is secondary objectives and it is being ignored and ignored and ignored...

I don't want to use ruin or NOED, disable these two perks for a week and we'll see how much your game is balanced. These 2 perks are terrible RNG perks that don't achieve anything.

Yes because when facts don't matter make stuff up, it's not like they didn't do 2 secondary objectives test runs to Iron out problems or anything. Because throwing something out there that's not well tested and thought out will just cause more whiny rant threads from the same whiny posters.

They've implemented a lot of changes, ahd issues, changed the game engine which caused massive problems for them and everyone else running it. Oh and lets not forget a lot of things HAVE TO WAIT FOR DEDICATED SERVERS.

But if you all want garbage to crash non stop for things that were never meant to run on a P2P platform go right ahead.

  • @Blueberry said:

I'd actually be fine with this change and I think it would be balanced. It seems like an actual fair trade off. I gave it a vote up.

On a side note: I still think the whole switching obsessions is meaningless. There's no real downsides to being the obsession in "almost" all situations. There are only small fringe situations where being the obsession is actually bad and even a few where it's good.

I think the Obsession should stay the same person although then you'd have the issue of not knowing who has DS. But you had the problem before with old DS as well and if they fix Enduring to be ignored and just make it so stun timer is 2.28 seconds across both it'd be fine.

Fml forgot to add that the only advantage to the Obsession is if you've got a Mori, Rancor, STBFL or another perk of that type. But that's also highly situational and once the hubbub dies down people will niche run this after it gets tweaked.

I'm sorry when in the hell did we tell you to adapt o yea, after op pallets vacuums were removed, DS and exhaustion was nerfed, and infinites were removed; All thing that were serious issues that you guys cried about afterword. With the introduction to a perk that can't be countered and can be paired up with other perks like dh, bt, ect, and an Insta heal it becomes more broken than post ds so no this is not an instance were we can adapt but the others on the other hand can be.

Bahahahaha for the last year certain killer mains on here have been telling survivors to adapt each time they had a complaint or there was a change. Brand new player comes to the forums not knowing any better Git GUd and meme and ADAPT.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

We need more survivor perks that encourage/reward for using stealth, caution and playing smart, not encourage reckless “YOLO, don’t care if we’re hit” behaviour.

That problem s that many killers including a lot on here and Reddit/Steam and quite few survivors find it boring. It actually takes some skill to evade a good or even great killer even when using P3 Claudette.

The ones against it all complain about Merry Go Round Simulator but will complain even more about a stealthy style of gameplay. I can stealth around, do totems, do unhooks, gens and evade the killer quite often.

But I get insulted about playing immersed by most killers post game and even some survivors. Now I'll get lobby dodged the moment I load in because they know I'm not an easy kill, especially if they're camping.

While it does take skill to loop properly I'm not a great looper and never will be because I just don't enjoy it. I'd rather skulk around and evade the killer like a true horror movie, not stare at him as I play Ring Around The Rosies.

Sadly the devs have actively discouraged stealthy gameplay with Whispers, the new Spies and other anti stealth stuff.

Why are you being so hostile? Chillax 🤠

A 5 second stun is not the end of the world but I'll admit not the best decision the developers made. They should have changed the description to say that the perk fills the wiggle meter to 100% upon succeeding the skill check. Therefore, making Enduring not affect DS because wiggle free stuns aren't affected by Enduring. I think the stun duration would've stayed the same but I'm not sure how long a wiggle free stuns the killer.

With Enduring it's currently 2.28 seconds stun since the other 1.32 seconds the survivor is also stunned. What they need to do but couldn't most likely was recode Enduring to be ignored instead.

  • Yeah she's really good when she wants to be and sadly it's still way easier to pip as killer.

  • Same killer mains and their smurf accounts whining after every PTB and patch that x is broken and op. Then after a week or 2 has passed it's back to DS/DH/AD/ insert w/e perks they want to use as an excuse here.

They whine about AD but they got what they wanted with the SB buff and healing nerf which they were warned about. They got their whined about SB nerf which hit all exhaustion perks, so survivors adapted.

Now they're whining about his before it's even been patched like other perks or with Breakdown/Distortion/Deliverance/Pebble/ every other new perks. The people with common sense realize it'll be a niche perk ocne the shine wears off.

Also once the actual smart and or good killers figure things out they'll have no issues with it. Meanwhile all the whiners will keep on whining about how op everything is instead of simply adapting like they tel brand new survivors to do.

If I had a penny for every whiny killer main rant thread and post on this forum I'd be a millionaire already.

Yes lets keep posting total nonsense and hope people will believe said nonsense, I could post both sides screenshots and most games are lucky to have 1 ds or more than 1 ad. I never run DS/AD/DH.

I've also faced a 4 man with and I've still gotten 3 of them and let the 4th one live, that was 3 legacy sabo jakes with a P3 Bill. But unlike you I don't keep making excuses for everything under the sun. What's next doing gens is toxic?

That last part had me laughing so hard.

I'd like to see them revert the emblem changes until emblems get reworked and secondary objectives launch. Then wait until rank reset hits and then implement the new stuff.

    Mine is not an opinion.

    This...

"because to others that infers killers are saints all the time and don't tunnel"

    is an opinion.

Also, even if what you said was true, you are projecting what you think he believes based on others even though he didn't say anything of the sort.

You're joking right, you say yours isn't an opinion than say mine is, how is that any different than what he said not being an opinion? What you're saying is there's nothing in what he said that wasn't an opinion in any way shape or form?

He left out all the times killers tunnel right after a completely safe unhook or a BT unhook and simply tunnel the person till they go down. But of course it's always survivors doing unsafe unhooks not killers doing something wrong.

Also you're saying I'm projecting but isn't that what he just did as well, he lumped all survivors into that category then said the definition keeps changing. That's his projection of what he feels aka HIS opinion.

Now you see why I say double standard, you say one thing while ignoring someone else doing the exact same thing in the very post.

If we really want to get technical then everything said on here is an opinion and a projection of what we think others are saying.

He literally just pointed out that a lot of people complain about "tunneling" more than it's actually happening which is indeed a true statement.

Good luck pipping with a 3k. Hell I've seen people derank with a 4k, and barely black pip other times.

Well if the killer goes for the slug and or instant win they're going to depip and rightly so the same as if the survivors all gen rush and never get seen/chased. But almost all my games against red rank killers have been super sweaty tryharding along with hard or proxy camping.

There's been some that actually want to max bp and go after the emblems so they don't tunnel someone right off the hook. They actually move around pressure different spots and different people etc.

Those matches last longer than 10 minutes and both sides feel like they did something even if the killer 4k's you still safety pip and earn some bp. The killer feels good because lots of bp and they most often pip.

  • @ClogWench said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/399922#Comment_399922

In regards to hag, yes you can replace them but that's not the point. And yeah you can run over them when she's in a chase but that's not necessarily the best plan. She can teleport to you and hit you when you do that. You're just completely missing my point, that it's fine for one perk to counter another when there's perks and items that have the potential to outright shut down a killers power entirely. Sure you can run Lightborn but that doesn't stop the flashlight from stunning you. And if it did, that's requiring a killer to run a perk just to counter an item that, for some reason, is extra effective against that particular killer.

Ok by the same token survivors have to run Unbreakable to counter a slugging killer, camping killer well you'd better have BT. Now see how that's a double standard when saying you shouldn't have to run something?

You can see survivors items and player choices, you already know whether you're going to camp/slug/tunnel etc.

  • @Captain_Spaulding said:

Not to mention that insta downs for killers literally cost 7k BP which even if you 4k you don't get to keep. If survivors escape the match they not only keep their item but their broken as ######### add ons. Lets stop pretending that BNP was the only broken add on. I can pump a gen out in 45-50 seconds with a tool box and green add ons. Now imagine if all 4 people with this get 4 gens done in roughly the same time. Am I supposed to run NOED every single time just to get 1 single hook? ######### that. Double pallets are back and are ######### everywhere. Jungle Gyms are nearly impossible now. I don't want to use nurse and billy every single game. I find them so god damn boring to play. There's a ######### ton of killers. I want variety. It's time the devs give a ######### and buff them all to billy level. Put the power in killers hands and keep it there for ######### sake. It's asymmetrical. It's supposed to be like that.

    @Frugl1 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/399804#Comment_399804

Killers truly cannot afford a perk slot for every broken item/perk given to the survivors.

It's almost as if killers don't make massive more amounts of bp then survivors and can also kill them. If the survivor is the 1st one found and gets killed they're lucky to get 2k which doesn't even cover half the cost of an addon let alone the item.

The amount of whining is incredible, perhaps Hello Kitty is a better game to play or a farming simulator and of course Civilization V is great.

It's also funny that you say buff all killers to Billy's level meanwhile people are regularly 4king with perkless and addonless Freddy, Pig, Huntress etc. Perhaps it's not so much the killers but the person playing said killer that is the issue.

  • All I've found so far is what it says about earning points based off emblems but right now every killer is slugging/camping pretty much. The people I sometimes group with have all said they're playing Billy and going sweaty and getting iri's pretty easily.

  • @ClogWench said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/399886#Comment_399886

Being able to outright deny a power with an item in a box is pretty big. You can also remove the trappers traps with a toolbox or a perk. And you can still lightburn Wraith and Nurse.

Well hag can easily replace them and she also knows when they get burned and how is that any different than running over them to trigger them? Wait till she's in a chase then run across every trap in sight.

Traps also respawn insanely fast even without running Hangman's and most Wraiths run Lightborn if they see a flashlight in lobby. Also both Nurse and wraiths just look away so it's not as easy.

  • Billy and Freddy both say hi and oh so does the Game.

  • Yeah I've been getting that as well, Ruin get no skill check the entire gen progression, just the notification Ruin is in effect. While other time with and without Ruin I can get non stop spam skill checks.

I love the amount of "don't tunnel" comments. Go ahead and farm your teammates with terrible saves. Killers aren't supposed to punish it by putting the survivor back on the hook. The definition of tunneling has become so broad.

There's a difference between an unsafe unhook in front of the killer and coming back and tunneling the person off the hook. But of course you knew that but just had to try and play the blame game anyways and act like killers are saints.

So then why does DS get to use the "stop something" definition when Enduring can only use the "reduce" definition?

It's a 2.28 second stun when all is said and done.

So am I understanding correctly, that you can only play insta down killers now?

Mhm lets see, that comes down to billy then I guess. Spirit M1s you, hag M1s you, nurse is M1, huntress sucks, plague sucks.... mhm ok all killers play billy now =)

Mori, Rancor, DH, oh and there's always the famous slugging and ADAPTING. Well there's also the perks been out for 1 day and will probably get tweaked like everything else does after launch.

Thank you for increasing the stun to 5. If this perk is supposed to punish tunneling, you needed to be able to at least have a chance to escape. 3 secs was absolutely nothing. The only thing that needs to be looked at now is possibly increasing the timer.

I think eeh timers fine as it is and if anything once the exit gates are powered as long as you're not down or on the hook be reduced.

  • Yes I do, you've always complained you didn't have a hard counter yet had no issues when you had a hard counter.

[TRANSITIVE] to take action in order to oppose or stop something or reduce its negative effects

Yet that's not what you've all wanted you wanted something like where it completely negated it before the change today.

I'm just amazed at the amount of Survivors who were perfectly fine claiming Enduring countered DS until it ACTUALLY did. It's like the greatest surprised Pikachu meme ever.

Also kind of upset that we're back to needing Enduring to simply mitigate the free escape.

Countering is fine, completely negating a perk is another, it'd be like survivors taking SC and healing to full 2 seconds after being hit.

    Pretty much @DudeDelicious

The only things that truly piss me off are when my totem is broken before I'm able to make it to the totem, heading straight to it as soon as the match starts.

On the w few occasions I ran Noed on my Spirit at red ranks with no other hex perk equipped. It was almost always the one closest to an exit gate and always faced survivors running towards said exit gate.
