Why the obsession perks are strong for no reazon .

Every Obsession perk the survivor has have no downside, no slower gen repair, no slower heal or broken effect, they just give you an effect that you can abuse.

Mettle Of Man: It can give you a second chance after you get hit 3 times for M1. The thing is it's not limited to one use, you can fully heal yourself and you don't need to get a hook or anything like that.

Decisive Strike: After you unhooked or unhooking (one limit thank god) you can use escape the Killer's grasp and stun the Killer for 5 sec if hit one skill check. The problem is the stun is on the animation and the killer can't do anything about that. Now if you say just use Enduring or don't tunneling they tell me why the killer has to pick a perk just to reduces the effect to DS and why the killer need to do not play optimal?

Sole survivor: Ok i will say this is bad is you run a spesifik build so i will leave it As more of your friends fall to the Killer, you become shrouded in isolation and the Killer's Aura-reading abilities towards you are disrupted.Your Aura cannot be read by the Killer within a maximum range of 20/22/24 metres for each killed or sacrificed Survivor.

Object Of Obsession: You can see the killer aura and vice versa but same time killer doesn't know if you have it because he/she will not look to your direction and even if you have a problem just go in the lockers and you fine for the time been.

  • The downside is probably supposed to be that you are more likely to suffer from the killer's obsession perks (if they use one). You make yourself the target of Rancor etc.

Compensated by the fact that the obsession icon on the player bar shows when the obsession is in a chase which is very useful information to have

Killer obsession perks also all suck

If i’m running Remember Me, you bet your butt i’m gonna harass the obsession.

Yes if the killer runs an obsession perk yes you may have a downside ( in most cases) but without that what is the downside?

Pffff, what a joke... STBFL and PWYF literally protect the obsession...

Survivors should be penalized way harder for being the obsession, just like OP said there should be at least some kind of debuff like slower repairing speed or something significant like that...

  • @tt_ivi_99 That's why I wrote "supposed to be". Imho being the obsession isn't that immense of a threat.

So when you run an obsession perk and or the survivor isn't they should suffer just to please you why again? If anything being the obsession and you're not running an obsession perkhould give you a bonus.

Since if you're the obsession the killer is most often going to tunnel you out of the game and usually your team gets a huge debuff. You've got Rancor, STBFL etc which you complain about but not when you get kills from it.

In fact you all probably run said obsession perks and yet complain about them yet get kills and remain silent. Oh and before you start with the crap I don't run any obsession perks playing survivor and still am the obsession at time.

I get hardcore tunneled till I'm dead all because i'm the obsession or the killer is running one yet I suffer the effects with no downsides for the killer.

The only obsession perk as killer I'll run is Rancor when I'm going with a mind game build, other than that I don't bother.

The only obsession perk killers have and need to tunneled the obsession in order to work are Dying Light and Remeber me every other perk forcing you to let the obsession live and leave from you. At the same time all the obsession perk killer has one or more weak point but 3 out of 4 perks that survivors have non.

  • Obsession state needs to be detrimental to survivors regardless of perks used.

Being able to mori the obsession by default or let the obsessed sirvivor suffer some %-penaöties are common ideas.

  • Devs treat being the obsession as a downside when really the best killer obsession perk encourages ignoring the obsession (STBFL). If the Killer doesnt have any ob-perks its even a flat bonus to the survivor because others can see when he is in a chase with the tendrils. Killers need something besides mediocre perks like rancor and remember me if being an ob is supposed to be a downside. Dying light is only scary to go against because you know the killer is running a mori.

  • The inherent downside of being the obsession comes down to information.

If you are running MoM and are the obsession then I know to watch out for you in particular. If you have OoO then I can see you and know it's not MoM as a result.

Sole Survivor is not a big threat and I might think you are a bigger threat than you are. Since Sole Survivor isn't that strong on it's own I'd say this is ok.

This will be true so long as they don't add that many survivor obsession perks.

    This is basically it.

The problem is "most" of the killer obsessions perks are bad bar a couple and even then, "okay" perks killers can't afford to run. This leaves the survivor ones with no downsides. Bar a Rancor for example there is nothing of a downside to being the obsession.
