All that non sense aside.
- 5 generators need to be done
- And 1 key
For all survivors to use the hatch.
The survivors get owned and get less than 5 gens done.
Awe At Least 1 Survivor Should Get To Escape, Even Though They Did Not Do What Is Required To Escape As A Team
The last survivor alive doesn't even have to touch a gen. The other 3 survivors did at least the 2 gens, the useless survivor doing nothing the whole game gets the hatch = FREE
You take things so literal it's hilarious. I gave simple to the point illustration how you are wrong and to drowned us all in a wall of text you generalize everything you say ONLY to try and feel like you're right, but you be WRONG
5 gens need to be done and a key, that means if all 5 gens get done and they escape with a key that means you completely failed in your objective.
If you let them do 5 gens and find the hatch and all 4 get out through it and yet you want to blame the survivors because you failed that game.
Now if you don't get all 4 then you obviously didn't own them, and the survivors aren't a team since each is an individual working to get out.
Now they did in fact do enough of their objective to get out, 1 person made it out if they in fact actually get the hatch.
**The very definition of the term free.
adjective 1. not under the control or in the power of another; able to act or be done as one wishes.
adverb 1. without cost or payment.**
From the Wiki.
The Black Lock, also known and commonly referred to as the "Hatch", is one of the two potential ways for Survivors to escape a trial in Dead by Daylight
The Hatch will become visible ("spawn") whenever the number of fully repaired Generators IconHelpLoading generators.png exceeds the number of living Survivors by 1:
4 Survivors remaining: 5 repaired Generators / Exit Gates are powered
3 Survivors remaining: 4 repaired Generators / 1 Generator left
2 Survivors remaining: 3 repaired Generators / 2 Generators left
1 Survivor remaining: 2 repaired Generators / 3 Generators leftSo since the survivors have together done enough to meet the minimum objectives that means the hatch isn't a free escape.

As someone else pointed out earlier either in this thread or another one might've been @TrAiNwReCk the language barrier is along with the trolling that comes with it.
Adding in VC and balancing around that only works if 100% or at least 90% of the player base uses it and there's no way that'll happen.
Then you also introduce the same problem all the other games that've done it have, toxicity that can't be accurately dealt with and a ton of false reports.

Make it so that hex totems aren't lit until someone is affected by it so for Ruin it's dull until someone gets a skillcheck. But if the totem that's set to be Ruin is cleansed it acts the same way if it was lit.

This "Also this isn't any comparison to the hatch either so all the hatch complainers don't even bother since there's no equivalency here." Is Hilarious.
The only time players bring up being rewarded for "poor performance" in regards to killer or survivor they bring up
- Hatch
- NOED
As they both aren't earned, they are ACTIVATED automatically when substandard game mechanics are applied.
- Survivor did all gens, but not all totems . . . Get an instant down Killers
Hmmn 4 individual survivors including any solos which are at least 30% of all lobbies so the solo players cleanse all the totem they can find. They either die or can't find that last well hidden totem and die to NOED to a killer that just played horribly the entire map.
- Killer killed 3/4 survivors and ONLY 2+ gens got done . . . Get a free escape last Survivor (your team failed to get all gens done to escape, but one of you can still escape . . . just because)
You just can't see the forest for the trees here, it's not free because in order for it to even spawn 2 gens must be done minimum. Then the other 3 survivors must die in order for it to even spawn still and that last person. Well they have to actually make it to the hatch and get into it without being grabbed.
Thus factually, logically and definition wise IT'S NOT A FREE ESCAPE. The can escape if they manage to do so because they did enough of their objectives to do so. You're not entitled to a free 4th kill and they have to actually do something to even have a chance at getting out.
Rant all you like, but trying to shut out those with common sense "hatch complainers" proves how ignorant you are. You don't want the game balanced around facts, you want the game balanced around feelings.
The only rants here are those of you and those like you that don't like to accept the simple fact the hatch isn't a free escape at all under any shape form or fashion. Also the only ones wanting the game balanced around feeling are you and those like you that when confronted with actual facts and logic go berserk.
I don't care about hatch or NOED. The simple fact is that they have more in common with how their mechanic works, rewarding those who don't have to work for anything. All they have to do is wait for the mechanic to become activated.
No, NOED can reward you for doing nothing the entire game and you could stand in the corner twiddling your thumbs all game and still 4k.
The hatch requires that at least 2 gens be done which is more than doing nothing, in other words the survivors have to work towards that something for it to even become available.
Then they have to work to actually make it to said hatch, they have to work to actually make it safely into said hatch.
Oh and here just to put the end to this childish free nonsense yet again.
The very definition of the term free.
adjective 1. not under the control or in the power of another; able to act or be done as one wishes.
adverb 1. without cost or payment.
Wow would you imagine that the hatch isn't a free escape because they've got to actually do something in order for it to even appear let alone use it.

Also this isn't any comparison to the hatch either so all the hatch complainers don't even bother since there's no equivalency here.
I don't really have an issue with NOED other than when I get downed by it after cleansing the other 4 totems and if anything totems should be worth much more.
If totems were worth 1k objective points and hexes worth 2k points you'd expect everyone is going to go looking for totems.
That's less people doing gens and much more likely to get caught by the killer looking for said totem cleansers.

You'd see how many pro's and cons there really is and how much actual work is required to make it functional since it's not as easy as just adding more gens, you'd have to have way bigger maps. There'd have to be a very specific set of perks that're allowed and same for killers etc.

The fact killers have to use BP to get the add-on's to make them "VERY powerful" is a drawback in itself. And it's not like "VERY powerful" add-on's grow on every web . .
X is a very powerful add-on so we are going to make you less powerful in some way . . so you aren't very powerful.
Here's a thought, let's add a drawback to the two instant heal add-on's for survivors med kits.
- Until instant heal add-on is used survivor runs 10% slower
That way killers playing against someone with an instant heal item is somewhat reasonable to play against.
Makes Sense To Me
Yes lets ignore the fact that the killers need to have something to spend bp on and lets just give them bp that they can't really use. If killers were super powerful without buying addons then bp gains would be in the 100's range per match.
There isn't a killer out there that'd be happy with a measly 1-4k bp for a 4k match since that'd be what it would have to come down to.
Also just stop with the insta heal nonsense it's a ONE TIME usage thing and it consumes the medkit, the killer addons are multi usage per match.
So using your logic then killers ultra rare and very rare addons should have a cd timer or some other negative effect to balance it out.
As far as playing against them why is it that so many killers can play against it and still get 2-4k and why is it that if they existed so much the survival rate isn't 100%?
I mean if all you complainers are to be believed than the survival rate should be at least 80-100% given how often you all seem to magically run into this.

I've seen killers take perkless Freddy to rank 1 and I've faced plenty of good ones as well so it does come down to skill at a certain point a swell.
But if you want something as base which some should have and other shouldn't have you should post a list of what each should have as base.
Then take that list and propose what addons would get nerfed or tweaked and how would offerings and perks be tweaked to avoid another cough Frank's Mixtape Legion issue.

The point is that yuo need to have the ability to use ingame voice comms (even if you dont) such that the game can be balanced around them.
The current situation is not acceptable
Yes balance around something that people might not use, that's like adding in a perk and balancing the entire game around that perk. But hey people might use that perk so therefore we must balance as if they're using said perk.
It doesn't matter if it'll totally destroy solo game balance as long as killers get their way and screw over 30% of the playerbase.

The only one missing the point here is you, it's not about the hatch standoff, if someone sneaks by you to get the hatch they outplayed you plain and simple.
If you get them before they get to the hatch you outplayed them plain and simple, if either one does a hatch standoff it's an ego contest.
Clarify the first point then next time cause you made it sound like you were implying this towards the hatch stand off.
I stand by what I said about who finds who first, its basically a gamble if they even have SC or not, and if they have urban evasion or not. A whole lot of factors play into this, Do they know where it is if 4 gens were done? Do they have SC? Are they good at stealth? Can I catch them before they find hatch on first swing? And what if they weren't hurt in the first place when the 3rd person died? then what...
Its a gamble, there's no skill involved in it, skill only happens when the chase is engaged when the killer actually finds them somehow.
Apologies for that, I'd meant to do so and got sidetracked in games, the hard part is of course solving the hatch standoff in a way that's fair for both sides.
-

In that scenario you only have 2 hits on them before they go down, in that time they can cover half or so of the map if they know how to maneuver well. And during that half map chase they have a good chance to get the hatch... THEN the stubborn stand off happens, where either person "outplays" each other by caving into pressing M1 first.
They're injured and not running SC means they're insta downable, you move faster you can cut corners and path better.
I'm not saying hatch standoffs are outplays and never have since it's a stubborn ego fest.
Hatch standoffs require no skill and or outplay anything. We never talked about finding the person either, I was talking about who finds the hatch first... theirs a pretty slim chance you'll find them before they find said hatch that's why most killers just go for the hatch. When I find hatch first I just hit them when they come to it and move on, not stand there thirsty for like 800 more points...
Again I've never said hatch standoffs require skill, in fact it's boils down to who's got the bigger ego in that case. If i find it 1st i'll smack the area to let them know where it's at then leave it to them. I've already won and scored enough bp.
To outplay someone is to display skill I.E. in a chase for example, I don't see any skill in say a P3 Claudette with urban evasion sneaking past you... If this was like... a Pink shirt ace that's a different story.
Also there's things called Whispers, All Seeing Eyes, Spies, Stridor and BloodHound if they're injured, Mirror Myers, Amanda's addon. There's Trapper and Hag's traps they can step or run into. It doesn't matter the outfit if they sneak past you in a wide open area or Lery's/Gideon's that's skill.
Don't make excuses for when someone outplays you, since that's all you're doing is making excuses.
-
@FireHazard said:
How is that outplaying someone? It was basically a gamble on who finds it first, then its up to them if they wanna waste 5 hours of their lives over some pride complex.
Oh good grief, they outplayed you because they moved around the map and got to it 1st, you've got more movement speed, you can down them, grab them etc.

I don't think they "outplayed you" in a stand off...they just were more stubborn than you before one of you gave up.
So if you grab them from the hatch then that means you were just as stubborn as they were and didn't outplay them either. If they get the hatch before it becomes a standoff then yes they outplayed you.

Indeed. Just let killer know when he face swf let him prepare anti swf build . Killers have so many crutch addons , offerings(why nobody talks about that?) that they will crash any swf any day if they skilled enough. If they did that survivors would complain about how they only face off against Nurses, Billys and Spirits. The solution to the SWF 'problem' is to add voice chat in-game and balance around that as the new baseline. Then the devs could add secondary objectives to extend the game, nerf Billy & Nurse, and buff every other killer.
Incorrect since most people aren't going to ue in game voice and listen to some screaming 12 year rant about not hook rushing to save them.
No one's going to use an in game function when they can use their own and talk shop with their friends, talk about work, school significant others etc.
There's a reason why the devs have never added this because they know the exact problems this would create F13 did it and look how that turned out.
Battlefield and COD have it and it's a toxic flamefest and people could just falsely report voice toxicity or be toxic knowing the odds are against them getting nailed.

No no no.
I am calculating what should be. The dev's data shows what currently is.
You say it is based on a faulty premise? Which premise is faulty and why?
The survival rate including the hatch being <50% does not mean the hatch is fine.
If the hatch was genuinely a free win thus 100% of survivors escaped with the hatch and 100% of 3k's fail to become 4k's then that could still mean only a 25% winrate for survivors, but since that means a 0% winrate for killers it isn't ok.The absolute winrate's do not matter. What is important is making sure that they are the same
Or in otherwords, the odds of a specific survivor escaping should be the same as the odds of no survivors escaping.
A graph showing all possible winrates would be here: https://www.desmos.com/calculator/tdz5er4v0h
x = Average Kills per match
y = Winrate given that averageThe shaded area is the possible values because every game has at least 1 winner (20% winrate) and the Killer can't have a WR above 50% (thus survivor's can't either)
Ok it looked like what you were saying is the opposite so apologies for the confusion there but I still think the only real issue with the hatch is the standoff.
Since the killer can still get that last survivor provided they're not of course camping it but that's the risk you take the same as the survivor does going for a slugged person etc.
-
The solution is what I've said before make it so that you get no points unless and until the safe unhook criteria has been met.
In other words you don't get the 250 for the unhook at all and instead you'd get that rolled into being awarded at the same time as a safe unhook for 1250.
So if you unsafe hook farm you don't get a WGLF stack, you earn zero Altruism points, and instead you lose those points the same way currently only it's more painful.

Dev statements change nothing here. My claim is mathematical and thus if you want to refute it then you need to show that I made a mistake in my math.
If the hatch is a 50/50 then in a perfectly balanced game everyone has a 30% winrate
If the hatch is survivor sided then in a perfectly balanced game everyone has a winrate bellow 30%
If the hatch is killer sided then in a perfectly balanced game everyone has a winrate above 30%
Dev statements do not and cannot change that fact
Ok you just lost all credibility with that one saying devs statements changes nothing here since your math goes out the windows since you don't have all the data they do.
So as far as your mathematical equations goes, if it's based upon a faulty premise it's still faulty no matter how good your math is if the underlying premise is false.
The survival rate included the hatch so it being below 50% means the hatch is working just fine and thus the only change needed is hatch standoffs.

Btw the ACTUAL survivor WR is about 40%. So thus a 1v1 needs to be Killer sided in order to be fair with that winrateUhhhh.. wouldn't that mean the hatch should be survivor sided since they have LESS of a chance to win? If a survivor has a 40% win rate, that means killer has a 60% chance, which means killer has the advantage.
No a 40% winrate overall.
As in including 2-4 person escapes. Not just 40% hatch escapes.
4k rate is 25% in comparison. That means this game is 15% too survivor sided
No, it's not supposed to be that easy to get a 4k so 25% is just fine because otherwise why bother even playing, just load in auto sacrificed.
If the average is supposed to be 2k 2 escape that means that a 3k should be around 38%(?) and the 4k around 25% which is perfectly fine.
-
Record a video if it's so consistent and submit it to support and then if you're actually being targeted they'll take further action.

@NuclearBurrito2 said:
I never said anything about free. Survivor sided means his escape chance given a 1v1 is anywhere from 51-100%
That was in response to all the others saying it's a free escape when it's both factually and logically not a free escape.
I'd estimate it to be around 70% but the point is that in order for it to be fair the Killer and Survivor should have exactly equal odds of winning the 1v1.
>
The current survival rate is below 50% at red ranks right now and the killer always has the advantage in dealing with the hatch because they can slug the 3rd and look for the 4th etc.
If you want to raise the winrates for everyone then you want the Killer to be favored in a 1v1, while if you want to lower winrates you want to favour the survivor in endgame.
This is incorrect since on average as the devs have said it's a 50-50 is the desired outcome which is average considering the survival rate is below 50%.
No the killer shouldn't get a 4k every game. Instead they should get a 4k about every 3rd game on average (good killers will get more. Bad killers will get less. It just needs to even out)
Again the killer on average gets 2k at least 50.1-52% or so of the time so it's where it should be and they shouldn't get 3-4k unless they play really well.
The same is true for all 4 survivors to get out, if they don't play really well they don't deserve to all 4 get out, the same is true for 1,2 or even 3 making it out.

Legions aren't that bad, it's when you get the exploiting ones that simply tunnel one person at a time that makes him completely not fun to play against and thus causes ppl to quit.
The Legion the people quit against might not even be an exploiting tunneling Legion but a normal spread the wealth one but they don't know that.
It's like when Clowns were using the reload exploit for movement speed thing, not all were doing it but it was a huge enough problem.
As far as legion goes i'm sure they're working on him in the next patch and the changes will probably either center around MixTape and Stab Wounds and or a major overhaul with that.

The survivor isn't entitled to a free escape nor is it one as i've pointed out both logically and factually and they have to actually make it to the hatch and get out.
Besides which if it's ok to camp, tunnel, slug for killers and they should play how they want that survivor hiding all game is equally fine. What's good for the goose is good for the gander as they say unless it's the killer mains on here complaining about the hatch.
I don't have an issue with it, if they get it fine, if they don't fine as well, my ego isn't that big that I must get a 4k every match. If I know someone is doing nothing the entire game I'll go look for them and leave the person actually doing something alone.
Most of the time I find them and hook them and let the other person go unless they try and make a save and i'll whack em and make sure the lazy one still dies.

Ahh I've been expecting you.
It's undeserved because potatoes can hide during the whole match in lockers and get the hatch. I've witnessed survivors hiding and doing nothing while I was hooked. Thx to the locker buff, I don't have to watch this anymore. (Weeee)
Or survivors that escaped through the hatch with a whooping 9k points and saying gg ez.
No ######### it was easy. He didn't do anything during the whole match. As I said somewhere else. If the killer doesn't has a similar mechanic, it's not deserved.
So because a potato can hide the entire match and get the hatch the hatch should be removed, that's some really bad logic you've got there.
Yes and let's pretend that killers don't say gg ez when they destroy a bunch of potatoes or hard camp with 5-9k points.
Because heck they did nothing the entire match except camp, they didn't patol gens, they didn't damage said gens they did nothing.
Should we remove NOED then because a bad killer can get kills with it after sucking the entire match? Should we remove hook caming that reward bad killers as well then?
We could go down the list of all the things bad killers get kills with using that logic and say they're undeserved because they got those kills.
Lets just remove lockers and loops entirely, all perks, all windows, items and addons and all survivors start the game on 2nd stage hook.
Now congratulations you've got nothing left to complain about, you automatically 4k every match and your games are over in less than 30 seconds.
Oh sure survivors will stop playing so your lobbies will dry up but hey you can't complain about the hatch anymore or the insta heals nor anything else.

I was wondering what happened but then I didn't even see what was going on, I've been trying to be more selective with what threads i comment on.

And how exactly am I a killer main? Please elaborate
I play survivor at rank 1 as well on every single reset since the game came out.
I think that's become an overused term to describe people on both sides now and realistically play what you want. It's probably better if you play both sides though since you understand things better that way.

I use windows built in one for it, Windows key + G starts it and i mute my mic.

Why couldn’t you though? It would bring more perk diversity combos for killers.
Yes but think about it it's meant to make you use it well not have it be a spam o rama ability, you're supposed to use it wisely. Think of it like baseball you get 1 sing per hit and if you miss your swing it's a strike, you don't get to swing and miss and say i want a do over.

Did they have Play With Your Food OR noed active?
There wasn't even two done and he was walking faster than the normal walking while carrying survivors.
Oh damn. That is very suspicious. I have yet to run into that.
I've had it quite a bit lately as well and it's been Trappers usually it's like they've got BL3 active at the start of the match.
As far as your question fluffy yes they look into it but i almost always start recording at the start of the match and if nothing's there just delete it.
If you do find something suspicious use the support link and follow the steps.

@DocOctober Unless I'm wrong its 15 seconds per token and capped at 3 tokens at tier 3.Edit: I am wrong, its capped at 4 at tier 3.
Well, I usually get all my Tokens by repairing a Gen near where a Chase is happening.
I'm the same way and i've even followed killers around to get stacks occasionally because i'll also get other bonus points at the same time.
It does suck when it's a Mirror Myers or Amanda crouching around though, against an ultra rare Legion it's like CHKCHING.

The only problem I have with SB is I must walk around but maybe I should try it with UE or something. Dead Hard saved me a lot of time but sometimes I get hit even after I activate it, so you never know especially with higher ping. Thanks for your perspective, I will definitely try it.SB with UE is amazing and i've not run SB in forever and rarely run UE although it's fun when I do and DH can be gamed really easily.
