  • I tried running DH but just couldn't really get used to it and good killers will just bait it out and when playing killer it's rare for people to use it successfully on me. I've not run SB in forever but with it you can crouch around with say UE which I used to run and then if needed sprint off.

Since if you can sneak around and then get close enough to a loop or a window with SB you can then try and sneak off and evade the killer.

The sad thing is: If a killer is nice and plays generously, which means they don't tunnel or camp, and in the end they lose because they did not put enough pressure on the survs - what happens? As a thank you, the survs will tbag in the exit gate and write a nice "gg ez noob".

I absolutely understand why some killers don't want to play nice.

I rarely get that except for the few groups that'll say something bad regardless of the outcome and usually get a gg or some good play comments. I play jumpscare killers and builds and last night I was Amanda for a daily and one of the survivors chose Yamaoka Estates.

I snuck up on someone doing and gen and sat right behind them for about 15 seconds in the bamboo and they finally panned their camera angle around and saw me and I just nodded my head up and down and didn't hit them.

They told me I'd scared the daylights out of them and i could've easily gen grabbed them but I was going for the memes.

You are talking to a wall at this point.

Very good DbD players showed their dislike towards this addon and addons like this one.

I am not somebody who runs after streamers etc. but I know that these people are really good players and if they think that something is wrong, it probably is tbh. These kind of good players are the first people who will adapt and change their gameplay in the first place.

I am not extremely skilled or anything, and if there is a way, I can accept it and blame myself but if the best players side with my opinion, I am going to take them more seriously than bunch of people who 4k everygame with Freddy or 100% escape rates against 5 blink nurses. This is a forum after all.

I have to laugh since someone on here will say who cares what a streamer says when it doesn't agree with them but will say x streamer(s) opinions matter because they say it's broken.

Most of the Spirit players on here will tell you it's not that hard to counter and against a sef group it's easily countered. Against competent solo players it's a 50/50 crapshoot and only really works well against potatoes.

Since if you know it's a spirit you don't keep in one spot you move around, you change things up and you mind game the crap out of her since if she's phasing she can't see you.

If she uses up all her power flying across the map and swings and missed well she's screwed because now she has to wait 15 seconds to use it again.

For all of you that think it's so op take it to rank 1 and 4k every match with it and do it against good players not the boosted ones.

Edit: Forgot to add Delfador I'm not bashing you personally.

All these killers are effective without these addons.

If your relying on any addons, you're doing it wrong.

I've actually been trying to goad myself into going 1 less perk on both sides down to no perks except may'be the BP ones. Since I'd probably be a much better player in return considering I don't run DS/AD/SB/DH and haven't run some perks in forever.

Yeah but... idk is there anything you appreciate about the game outside of that?

Sorry was about to load into a match so was typing fast, I should've just skipped the match.

I like how you can really play how you want to, meme builds etc, and as killer go jump scare or chase you relentlessly.

There's a good variety to choose from for both experienced and beginners of toons to play and really so many different builds to screw around with.

  • So for all the whiny killers in here that can't admit that perhaps they're the reason they do bad and not swf put your money where your keyboard mouths are.

You agree in writing on a legal document to reimburse BHVR for ANY lost money due to people leaving the
game if swf is removed. Since you're so confident it'll be fine then you should have no problem guaranteeing them the money lost.

    you're not understanding:
prayer beads + surveillance is game over, you don't even have to add all the other perks I've mentioned. It doesn't matter if "you were never grabbed on a gen", you just are facing a very, very unfair game. Maybe you can escape through the hatch, but if the killer is a little competent there's no way more than one escapes.
You're free to believe otherwise, you would just fool yourself.

Also, you can play however you want, I like challenges and because of that I never use ultra-rare add-ons, but some people want easy games, so that's only fair you are able to ask for a little (actually, huge) help once in a while (or even "always", if you want to be the farming kid of your example) :)

The only one not understanding here is you, the fact that you refuse to admit that the problem lies with you and not the killer says it all. If the players know what they're doing more than 1 will usually get out, if they're a bunch of potatoes or get outplayed then they get wiped out.

So take your own advice and stop fooling yourself into believing there's no counterplay against her or those addons. Because if there was no counterplay like you say her win rate and playrate would be 100% and all the pro's would play her exclusively.

If someone has the Doctor meme it's highly appropriate right now.

I have no clue how high the dark number of those smart cheaters is, but I think it's way higher than we all expect

The smart ones are the tricker ones to catch for sure but it makes actually catching them all the more warding.

If we're talking about a hard time limit, though, I wouldn't want to see that. I could easily play doctor or hag and guard the three closest generators for ~20 minutes or so.

I was thinking more about Billy/Nurse/Spirit and doing nothing but flying around the map scaring survivors off gens and also doing a 3 gen strat. You'd give them the outer gens but if 3 were close together it's gg and if they're close together and then you run NOED well lulz.

Throw in Ruin, perhaps Thanatobia, and say UP and even a Clown just sitting there throwing bottles on a 3 gen will cause issues.

💘 Survivors who don’t spam click at killers, tbag them at every nearby pallet, or try to just be “annoying”

💘 Killers who gives a survivor a chance while 3 others disconnected from ragequitting

    I'm half-fulfilling this:

    💘 Killers who don’t camp/face-camp

Because I tend to camp one survivor when the gens are done I haven't killed anyone and I faced genrushers and/or toxic squad.

It’s understandable. Genrushing is currently an issue at the moment in DBD. At least a kill or two is still considered average though. :’^

If the gates are powered camping is completely understandable and a legitimate tactic to ensure a kill especially if you've not downed anyone.

I hate when I'm the one camped but I also understand it being done and just hope my teammates do what they're supposed to do and get the gates open and escape.

I always try and be friendly unless someone is toxic in game like the flashlight teabagging clickers or those that sabo event only hooks. That last part isn't an issue any longer finally.

The killers that camp at 5 gens 1st hook get no sympathy from me if you get looped endlessly after that.

  • I'm not a great looper so good killers have no issues catching me on those and on killer I just play Spirit or put a map offering in.

Since you can pip without sacrificing. That means you can pip without achieving your only stated goal

"Patrol the area and find Survivors."
"Chase, injure, and catch Survivors before they escape."
"Carry Survivors to a sacrificial hook and hang them there for The Entity to consume."

None of these listed objectives state "sacrifice survivor" or use the word "kill", nor do they state you MUST do these things. If you do everything listed here WELL ENOUGH, you pip. If you also sacrificed/killed them, it still fits within these rules because if you find>chase>injure>catch>hook them 3 times that's just the end result. In such a case where they die it means you did very well, and are awarded more for a win than usual (double pip).

    @NuclearBurrito

You will have to learn to forgive certain forum trolls that want to be right at the expense of common sense. A wall of text "blah blah blah blah blah" x100 so most people glance over and figure they might be right.

    Fact #1

    • If you die in a trial - You have lost
    • If you don't kill all 4 Survivors -You have lost
    • If you don't die in a trial -You have won
    • If you kill all 4 Survivors -You have won

    Fact #2

    • Pipping - Has nothing to do with winning. Had thesuicidefox any _COMMON SENSE_ pipping obviously . . . OBVIOUSLY has only to do with rank. And for everyone scratching their heads still . . . If the ranking system did not exist than pipping would not exist

P.S. It is truly sad that people who simply want to be right, will stop at nothing to try and convince everyone else and themselves that they are right. Even if it proves them to be ignorant and wrong.

Keep up the common sense postings Nuclear. There isn't much intelligent life on these forums, but maybe some of ours can rub off. . . Probably won't happen though.

This is the height of hypocrisy because you agree with them what they're saying is true and must be accepted as truth while those that disagree ar trolls.

What's really sad is you dismiss others and insult them and thus proclaim yourself as the messiah while also saying they're unintelligent for having a different opinion than you.

That's the very definition of a troll.

  • @Cymer said:
I think the biggest divergence comes from the different values players have.

Some play for the prestige of having rank 1.
Others avoiding ranking up, because a higher rank means longer queue times, limited viable killer-pool and much harder matches.

BP are predominantly the most valuable aspect for beginners and intermediate players, because they want to get the perks and individualize their characters. Veteran player in the contrary are less depended on BP.

And some just play to have fun. Playing a roleplay fantasy. Trying to achieve a personal goal. Trying out wierd perk builds, whatever makes you happy. (Please, just don't troll!)

In my opinion all these ways to play are viable and deserve some form of legitimacy and only because you define your wincondition different then some else's, you still have no rights to dictate others how they should have fun or that someone need to shut up and not voice their spin on a beloved game.

There don't have to be one single perfect and legitimate way to play.
DBD is fortunately a game that can be played and enjoyed on so magnanimous different ways and don't strangle your choices during the match.

I think that the devs and other players would agree with me, when I say, let's create a DBD where all these playstyles and preferences are equally viable and noone has ever be talked down for their preferred way of enjoying the game!

Exactly and you see some people playing Meme builds just for fun and 1 person I've met in game plays meme builds on a smurf and doesn't care if they die as long as they can meme while doing it.

"To each his or her own it must be held true."

Note: I can't remember the exact quote for that.

There are almost no games which ACTUALLY have a significant percentage of cheaters

Well there's the absolute cheaters aka speed hackers, wall hackers, esp hackers etc types which are pretty rare.

Then there's the lesser cheaters like lag switchers which are actually more common and in a larger % of overall games compared to the hardcore cheaters.

So your claim is actually false since some games have a high % of cheaters in them both the ones that it's known everyone or mostly everyone is cheating. Then there's the ones where it's known that some in there are always cheating or attempting to.

Prayer Beads on Spirit are under the same principle:
Prayer Beads + whatever addon + Discordance + Surveillance + M&A + BBQ is gg, survivors can't win. Ever.
You can even try other perks, like an all out totem and Thrill of the Hunt, and it would be a very easy game as well (unless you are very very unlucky and the first totem to go is Thrill).

Again, it's fine and fun if it happens once in a while, the problem arises when someone plays constantly using those perks / add-ons - it's exactly like playing always a swf game with ds, borrowed time, adrenaline, instaheals + a key. But let's be clear, it is not a problem for me, I won't play against you every time (in fact, I enjoy those once in a while impossible games), it is for you, that will never learn how to play under difficult conditions.

(and no, I'm not a survivor main)

Again i've never ever been gen grabbed by a Spirit runnin Prayer Beads unless I've been trying to finish that last few % on a gen.

I've been in matches with other survivors against a Prayer Bead using spirit and we've all made it out because we paid attention to our surroundings. WE paid attention to if we knew she wasn't in a chase and we always positioned ourselves to where a gen grab was harder.

If in a chase we'd simply run and double back and move slowly around blind corners and move in different ways and never be consistent. Sometimes it works and sometimes the Spirit player knows what they're doing and you still get hit or downed.

The only ones that can't play against her with those builds are the ones that don't deserve to live against her because they're just not good enough.

Also saying Mirror Myers and Iri King require ultra and very rare addons and their expensive then ignoring the fact on spirit is disingenuous.

If you really want to be honest here it's actually not that hard for a person only playing that killer to simply farm on other survivors or killers for bp. They then can just simply dump that bp into their favored killer and voila tons of very and ultra rare addons.

To show how asinine this whole argument is I never prestiged my Spirit and kept rolling over her bloodweb trying to get Rancor III and BBQ III. It took me almost 100 rollovers of her level 50 bloodweb just to get the tier III of both perks.

I've since done another 50-70 on her and before I started using them up to get ready to prestige her I had almost 50 each of her ultra rare addons, over 50 each of her very rare addons and 30 Black Wards.

For Myers even though I don't really play him often I had lots of Scratched Mirrors and Ebony Mori's along with lots of Tufts of Hair and Tombstones.

For Doctor I never play him anymore and i've still got lots of Iridescent Kings and lot of his other op addons because I've not prestiged him and rolled his over for perks as well.

The simple fact is that anyone with every character P3'd or those that just play a few will have a ton of ultra very rare and very rare addons stockpiled.

They'll never ever run out since they can easily farm on those well stocked characters and us lesser characters as bp farmers.

Throw in bonus bp events and it's like a kid in a candy store how easy it is to get them and if you're dying to a Prayer Beads Spirit then you need to get better.

I noticed it subsided a bit now, but it still more active than it usually is. The games naturally toxic but the matches with solo players got worse after the event.

Well solo players ended up getting the worst of it and some killers would just hard camp at 5 gens 1st hook within the 1st 30 seconds. So I can understand the increased DS usage I still won't run it but I can understand people that do.

Always assume SWF groups are on voice, and communicating your location. I think then, it would be fair, that if you can see one SWF group member, you should get Aura locations of all other SWF group members. This seems fair and balanced. Turnabout being fair play and all. Solo players would be unaffected as their location would not be shared.

Anything that explicitly re-balances the game for the immediate presense of SWF would need to be in a separate lobby. Because balance is not in isolation and that kind of aura reading effects EVERYONE in the game and not just the SWF players, it influences what perks you would take, it effects any solo's qued alongside SWF ect ect ect.

Hence why the solution is to bring the Solo's potential power up to the same level as SWF by just giving them VC and potentially other information that SWF would have anyways. And then we can just buff killers around the board to compensate

Again vx won't solve the issue since it's based upon the false premise that everyone is going to use it.

    1. There's language barriers
    2. People that have their own Discord aren't giving that up to talk to total strangers.
    3. No one wants to listen to screaming 12 year olds yelling at them for not coming to save them from the chainsaw wielding maniac camping them in full view.
    4. Trolls would simply have a completely safe venue to harass people in.
    5. Trolls would simply falsely report people for being toxic in voice.
    6. Solo players enjoy playing without having to listen to others and I've declined Discord invites in solo and other on here have as well.
    7. You've got groups of friends talking shop ie significant others, work, movies, music etc and they won't join to talk to some random.
    8. F13 did it and look how toxic that got, any COD and both Battlefront games show why voice is toxic.

The idea is to buff solo's up to swf level information wise and then buff killers to match that since a base kindred or something like that will help.

  • @Tucking_Friggered said:

Just because you don't see something doesn't means it's not there and the same is true for bans you don't see them but they do hit.

Once they get dedicated servers up and running and have all that hard data they can then tweak the system similar to how riot did it.

It doesn't matter if they are there if nothing about the amount I see changes. There, not there, the same number of games are ruined. Sorry, but Behav10r drags its collective asses. No one has the patience to wait years for them to finally get something effective enough to make a difference. They still haven't implemented a timer to timeout DC survivors mid game load so as not to leave everyone else in a 5-10 minute DC process.

Do you have actual facts to backup your claims because judging by the number of ban posts both here, on the Steam forum and on Reddit they do happen.

With over 5 million copies of the game sold you're still going to see people dc and realistically you have no way of knowing why they dc'd.

    Their game could've crashed.
    Their power could've gone out.
    Their router reset
Their computer crashed (cough Windows updates cough)
    Their power strip died/tripped.
Their apartment/college dorm/neighborhoods internet went down. (cough Comcast/CenturyLink/etc etc)

There could be a real life family emergency.

There could be a tornado warning and they've got to evacuate which has happened to friends in the midwest when a storm comes in unexpectedly.

There's countless reasons for a dc and you have absolutely no way of knowing why they happen or if it's their 1st time or 100th.

Also given that it's still peer to peer they can't implement that since the killer is the host which is why dedicated servers are needed to handle the protocols.

So I'll point out a few things for the sake of arguments.
First off, I was the one who pointed out rank meant nothing, not MhhBurgers. And I should have clarified that anything after the yellow and brown ranks means nothing. It's not a knock on the lower ranks, it's just saying that not only is it easy as hell to pip, but people derank on purpose to not play against Nurses and Billies every damn time.
Second, ANY killer can 4k against survivors if they're skilled enough. The problem is there is a certain point where your skill becomes irrelevant if you play a low-tier killer. Legion absolutely falls under this category. This is from someone who also has 4k'd multiple times with every killer in the red ranks (that includes Legion).
The truth of the matter is not everyone at rank 1 plays like Jen or Zubat or the members of the Depip Squad. Rank 1 has just as many average survivors as it does amazing ones. The amazing ones find ways to abuse Legion over and over again. And even if they end up dying to him, they also end up being the only one to die while the rest get out.

Apologies for that one I thought i'd clipped you out and referenced him with that one and yes skill is a rng variable right now due to ranks meaning nothing.

I've seen red ranks play like rand new rank 20's at times and it makes me wonder are they boosted or bought accounts.

You are missing the point. Skill is measured relatively. The Killer has shown himself to be better than at least 3 of the 4 survivors. However since part of a survivors gameplay is teamwork that means having the 3 dying is a count against the 4th survivor. Does that mean he is worse than the killer? No, but he should have to prove that he isn't. The killer had to work to get to that point for sure, even potato survivors need to be found and chased short of griefing, and in that situation the survivors aren't getting even those 2 gens.

Thus the remaining survivor needs to prove that he is significantly better than the killer and thus the rest of the team. Surviving for that long is easy, just hop in a locker and avoid the generators since the Killer is approaching those all the time. Going for the hatch needs to have risk so that the survivor needs to overcome it by mechanical skill or strategy rather than just luck.

Yes the killer should have to work too, but he for sure already has at least a little, if the killer is a potato along with the survivors then he wouldn't put up too big of a fight assuming the 1v1 endgame is designed correctly.

I do understand the point but the common theme in a lot of these complaint threads is I deserve muh 4k because i killed 3 ppl. You might've killed 3 really good survivors or 3 potatoes, it could've been 1 or more people deranking.

So while skill is relative it also isn't the be all and end all of the equation when you're making an assumption about each event.

Also could you define toxic killer real quick. I want to make sure of something

Those are the ones that simply tunnel one person to the exclusion of all else even when someone injured is in front of them. The ones that basically hard camp at 5 gens and chain smack someone on the hook because they got outplayed.

That's the types I think of as toxic, if they've just hooked someone and someone runs in and unhooks in front of them and they rehook the person that's not toxic. That was just a stupid unhook move and I always go for the unhooker in that case.

As for the earlier part about killing 3 that may have been a group of potatoes which we all know are way to common. So the killer destroying 3 really quickly isn't always skill but just being fed a bunch of idiots.

yes but the survivors aren't escaping through the hatch together, rather only a single person is escaping. And there is no guarantee that they actually did any of the gens. No finding the hatch is not itself challenging enough to say it isn't free anymore than having to unwrap a gift makes it not free.

My point is that it's not a free escape, something that has to be worked towards isn't free and the one getting the hatch could be the one doing nothing sure.

But the one doing nothing the entire match is a legitimate strategy just as slugging is while i dislike both I do understand them. As a killer i'll only slug to find that person doing absolutely nothing or for the adept and for toxic jerks.

As a survivor I'm not giving the killer a freebie for slugging, you want that 4k earn it, if you're camping i'm not coming for the save. I'll do totems, try and may'be do gens depending on where they're at and look for hatch while at it.

If you're patrolling depending on where you're at I'll try and go for a save and get the person up at least but i'm still not giving you any freebies.

For the person doing nothing the entire match and i mean I know for a fact they're doing nothing not the assumption because they don't get caught either. I'll give myself up to the killer if the killer wasn't a toxic douchebag or make them chase me.

I'll struggle on the hook so thy know to go look for the douchebag and they've got time for it but if they're a toxic killer I'll suicide.

  • This reminds me of the toxic attention seekers on the League forums that'd brag about not being banned and taunt the gm's. They were in the system and were due to be banned but because they decided to be jerks got moved up.

Then they complain when their behavior gets the expected results.

Spirit is super satisfying to improve with. As a spirit main I have had the moment you are having now

This, as a Spirit main also she's so much fun to play and when you cna mind game someone it's much more satisfying than cheesing behind them with a chainsaw.

She is really fun. I love how sometimes they expect me to be standing still but get jumpscared when I smack them out of nowhere. It's amazing.

Yeah I like to mix it up stand still sometimes and act like I'm phasing and then other times do so and move a bunch or very little and keep them honest. If they start healing thinking you're not moving phase and move just a bit to scare them.

As someone else pointed out earlier either in this thread or another one might've been @TrAiNwReCk the language barrier is along with the trolling that comes with it.

Adding in VC and balancing around that only works if 100% or at least 90% of the player base uses it and there's no way that'll happen.

Then you also introduce the same problem all the other games that've done it have, toxicity that can't be accurately dealt with and a ton of false reports.

Look at how many posts this user has. Clearly they don't spend much time in the game they claim to know so much about ROFL

They troll threads within this forum to feel right because in game, when put into practice, they find out they're wrong.

In forums users can come across however they want, powerbats is a clear example of a 'Right Fighter'

    • I am right
    • Read my wall of redundant generalized text
    • Know I am right

    And the cycle repeats.

Read my above response and when you're ready to actually debate I'll be here waiting.

Funny how powerbats is trolling threads to be a 'Right Fighter'

As long as this poster feels right they will post a wall of text that makes THEM feel like they are right.

They can't be bothered we are tossing around theories.

Sorry, but not sorry powerbats. YOU are still WRONG

I'm not even going to bother responding to you since it's obvious you're no longer here to debate.
