  • Idk sometimes before this change existed I would try to go to the other side of the map during two survivor situations for 5 minutes and still see zero progress either way its a good change to add to the game

We were promised a rework. Last year. Or 2 years ago now? I guess thats what happens when you trust BHVR

The rework was denied because they turned her into dash/ranged killer slop and nobody liked it, however I really wish they kept drones being stealthy.

i agree especially if your not a mobility killer if they have any kind of distance on you it takes the entire map sometimes to catch up even without all the sb and lithe and what not. then by the time you caught up they are at the next tile and pallet and then they move 5 meters to the next. you just dont have time to deal with that especially if the survs understand the game well enough.

They don't even have to understand the game 😭

  • The killer cannot die if they wanted out. For the survivor side if you dc you leave your team a teammate

  • Generator speeds aren't the problem its the pallet density update I will literally die on this hill. People who aren't good in chase shouldn't be able to play against a m1 killer then run to yellow and pre-drop for 3 gens and still have half the map be filled with pallets.

im not AGAINST it, i just have never been aware of this being an issue where dev time needs to be added to handle it (i assume it wouldnt be hard to do but idk)

but if you are at a stalemate just go to killer and get hooked if you give up. not sure why you need to dc (assuming the killer didnt go afk or something and was actually playing)

For two survivor situation normally none of the survivors want to die same with 3 gen scenarios. Its used in case any players want to use it from getting bored and whatnot and/or being held hostage

  • @HexSlugged said:

ive never had a game where no gen popped or made progress in 10 minutes and i have played no small number of matches.

I have this happen to me like literally every five games especially on indoor maps because people will just rat or genuinely be unable toi get progress against certain killers. I think its a good addition to the game because it allows the killers/survivors to disconnect in case there isn't much actual interaction happening. It also helps with the 2 survivor situation.

  • God forbid you hook someone next to a generator and you decide to check on it lmao

  • I loaded into a match without knowing the bug existed and started tweaking

The main problem I have is that you dont have undetectable in loops when you deploy a drone, you only get it when you recall one and that literally requires you to remove map pressure (tbf the drones dont do anything outside of chase so it doesnt matter) for what a few seconds of undetectable? Idk I just dropped her for Springtrap because she feels so clunky

You should always have 1-2 drones that you can recall. Recalling downed drones that are next to gens can scare away survivors even if you're in chase

  • Its a ten year old game so it has a dated system personally I am unable to comment on the actual grind for stuff as I have way too many hours so I don't know how it feels to be a new player

  • @elana23 said:

She feels incredibly weak to me, other killers like Legion and Plague can injure much faster and easier and I really dont like the recall undetectable

Legion and Plague are bad examples tbh the recall undetectable is significantly better as survivors will not know you are coming unlike when you place a drone and they see the aura/scan lines what you do in chase is lead survivors to an unsafe loop with little means of escaping and force the drone onto them by repeatedly swapping the drones scan directions back and fourth while yes she is bad you can win most of your matches if you pay attention

  • Conspicuous actions need an overhaul in general this is well known

  • I will literally die if they buff anti-camp any more its so risky to hook in a 3 gen because if a survivor takes chase next to the hook and they're already 30% progress they will get anti-camp

Also tunneling with Pyramid Head and Dracula is extremely problematic as the unhooking survivor cannot take a hit unless they want to go down in which case the killer can just slug and go for the freshly unhooked survivor with no endurance. I disagree with Huntress tho because she only hits one survivor.

Wraith's relative simplicity gives a high skill ceiling, but also works against him because he's just not very glamourous. Playing Wraith is fun, but watching him is more of an acquired taste. I think people just like having cool powers and high potential for skillshots/dopamine rushes. Wraith is much more chill than that, despite having to earn his wins.

I also think his aesthetics are dated, meaning he doesn't draw people in beyond being the killer you learn how to play killer with, before graduating to the one that draws you in most.

Power may be boring to watch but the skins he's been getting as of late are 10/10 W Art Team

  • I heard some dead by daylight servers themselves also have pretty bad ping all the time could be wrong tho

  • @BigKingWoof said:

I disagree when you say "If a killer dc's, nobody is hurt" because it's never a good feeling having a game suddenly end, especially if you're doing good. I want to play the game, not get booted to the lobby because a killer had a hissy fit, queue up, load into that lobby, wait for 5 minutes because someone is always afk to ready up, and then load into a new game.

I've played a handful of matches tonight, and I've had about 4 killers dc because they were looped for too long. If killers are wanting me to finish the game I started, I get the right to ask that out of you. You don't get to quit guilt free and complain about "survivor entitlement" when you're just as entitled.

I personally don't have a queue problem as when the match ends me and my duo just instantly queue and load in to a match a minute later and we personally find it funny when a killer disconnects because its like "lmao I looped him for 3 gens and he just quit" then by the time were done talking about it or the previous coversation topic were already in another match. I am sorry that your teammates don't ready up.

And you still didn't answer.. WHY DO PEOPLE GENERALLY LEAVE? are they evil, and want to ruin other people's game? are they bored? are they scared? are they enjoying the game too much, and wanna leave before they get addicted to it?

Solving an issue, starts from first realizing and then understanding where the roots are.. just whining that 'game is ruined because someone disconnected' doesn't mean anything.. did you think that the game might be already ruined because someone cannot enjoy the actual gameplay.. I think it's reasonable to want to avoid something that causes you discomfort.. your argument "git good" doesn't mean anything to a player who plays the game for different reasons, than to sweat for the win.. nowhere does it say, that YOU HAVE TO WIN, YOU HAVE TO KILL, YOU HAVE TO CHASE, YOU HAVE TO ESCAPE… you can literally enter the game and sit in the center of the map if you so desire.. what makes the game enjoyable to you, is not necessarily the same for others.. using the available abilities and mechanics of the game, to create your own experience sounds much better than "play the game to win".. disconnecting from the game is AN ACTUAL GAME MECHANIC, believe it or not.. adding a penalty, is just adding another mechanic to the game, that doesn't solve anything, it's just a band-aid for a 10 year old problem..

So let me ask again, in case you forgot.. why do you think people leave?

1: I already answered this by saying people don't have fun and/or don't want to learn to have fun against certain killers hence why they dc I then tested this by playing as killers people generally liked and killers people don't like (Plague, Kaneki, Hag)

2: Again if you play a game and only want to interact with the same 10 characters every match when there are 40+ that is your problem not the games.

3: I agree with this but if you ask the majority of people who play this game what will they say? Who guessed it they want to play the game. And playing the game requires you to kill survivors and doing generators sometimes doing that can win the game. Based on various circumstances that can be easier or harder. I myself have started doing a Sadako winstreak with just condemned I'm not saying you shouldn't play how you want I'm saying you shouldn't expect to play against the worst players ever or the easiest killer to loop ever ect. I am just saying that it ruins matches when people disconnect.

4: Adding an increased penalty stops people who do not want to play the game from playing the game it makes perfect sense to me

    @Dem34888 said:

So when the killer disconnects, it's ok and fair, but once it affects them, it's no longer true... The game should be "fun" for all 5 players, not just 4 or 1 individually. Moreover, "fun" is such a vague concept between players. Increasing the penalty time won't change anything, but it will increase the likelihood of people ruining the game for others instead of leaving the bot: chasing the killer, spamming lockers, dropping all the pallets on the map, and who knows what else

Moreover, I don't know what world you and those content creators live in, but in my experience, you still have the possibility of 3 people winning in +2. Taking out the weakest player early or tunneling is not a guarantee of the killer's win

Furthermore, what do you mean by "fun"? And explain why your assumptions about it should apply to every person playing this game.

When a survivor disconnects it affects everyone else in the lobby in a pretty big way since your new teammate is almost useless in chase and extremely buggy. I partly agree with this second statement being that not everyone will have fun but I feel just because you aren't having fun doesn't mean you should ruin it by making the game way harder.

I agree as long as the team is strong and efficient but this rarely happens in public matches as long as its not one of the worst killers in the game and said player is competent with the killer and game knowledge its very easy to win a 3v1 as long as you play into your generators.

By fun being affected by people disconnecting is when you would play basketball outside with your friends the one of them gets mad and goes inside, as I type this I realize this is a terrible example but my point still stands its pretty hard to win a match without a full team.

And my definition of fun in a PvP game is when I get to express my skill in a game and have a fair match.

  • Idk I have the sole belief people shouldn't play a game if they aren't prepared for going against every character / arent able to have fun if they can't go against the ones they like. You shouldn't be able to just leave and ruin it for everyone else because people don't wanna learn counter play or learn to have fun with any part of the game. Also how does increased penalties make the game worse for both sides it literally punishes people for ruining matches? The post wasn't about toxicity its about how disconnecting is unhealthy for the game and ruins matches by making them an autowin for the killer. Also if you are salty because you were slugged/tunneled in a previous match or if people just aren't having fun with the game because they don't verse their favorite 5 killers every match then they should take a break and do something else. I am glad you have fun when people goof around, so do I but a lot of people want to actually play the game and win. Disconnecting makes doing that extremely unfair and unfun for both sides. @Sauroth

  • Could you name a few? I could see an argument for Knockout or something but I'm willing to update the page

  • Why do you suggest lowering the maximum dc penalty that makes no sense

  • @ElodieSimp said:

DC penalties don’t actually discourage people from disconnecting. Increasing the penalty time won’t address the real reasons players choose to DC in the first place. The community has latched onto “entitlement” as the catch‑all explanation, but that oversimplifies the issue and ignores the underlying problems that drive players to disconnect.

I don't know any time I get disconnects as killer its because I either found them instantly / got too many hooks early so its a "lost game" or its a "boring killer" so what other underlying problems cause disconnections

  • Cross Examination will be the most broken thing to ever come to this game

  • @cogsturning said:

BHVR has said they exclude matches with DCs for the official stats they release. Mandy has also said that the stat page has no correlation to their internal data. Your personal stats aren't a good example of what they might be using behind the scenes to make changes. The site is known to have numerous flaws.

If DC punishments get worse, more people will die on purpose. If anything, they should be punished less, as those instances are actually messing up the stats if the system doesn't flag it as intentional. I'd also rather have a bot than a thrower as a teammate. They just need to make the bots better.

Didn't know that and I didn't think about the bigger problem with larger dc timers

  • I mean you can do this with the twins if you swap people who play any time you go in power its pretty fun but like an idea such as this is too complicated from an design standpoint and won't happen

  • I typically see this problem with console players its been a thing for a while I'm pretty sure there's an entire thread on it

  • @Doctor_Xenomorph said:

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

    I guess you wanted to say 4,8 m/s and not 3,8 m/s…

But no. The game is really balanced around the current movement speeds, adding another 5% on it would have way too much impact. You cannot just slap 5% more movement speed on every Killer and call it a day, you just cannot tinker with Haste in such a way.

I recently made a post on this and The Haste & Hindered Rework being added back to the game because of diminishing returns and whatnot. I do not think buffing movement speed is an option which is why so many m1 killers run PWYF example being Sadako and Ghost Face as it helps improve their chase significantly while still being able to run slowdown its another reason why I don't think killers need buffs like this.

  • Hot take the devs do actually care about the game! Its just extremely hard to make decisions on a live service game let alone act on it due to the fact that when one thing gets changed three new problems appear along with the fact that many killers are hard to balance hence the micro buffs we got in a recent patch. I personally think its good that the devs remember these killers exist. @Doctor_Xenomorph

  • In case this isn't bait trapper is 4.6 m/s hag is 4.4 m/s and survivors are 4.0 m/s also the balance of m1 chase would be fine without pallet density imo

Instead of commenting on your own post you can press the three dots in the top right of it to make edits too

Plot Twist can also deactivate Corrupt Intervention, which is stupid as for me…

Aside from it deactivating corrupt I genuinely think plot twist is not problematic at all many perks change the outcome of the game I personally don't think one survivor spending 20 seconds to heal themselves up to full really affects the game that much I mean at this point pharmacy is problematic as long as you know where the chests are you can get multiple full heals in 24 seconds and provide your entire team with medkits

I don't know why plot twist would be a problem when stuff Deli STB DS WGLF and Conviction or for the killers side stuff like Forced Hesi Coulrophobia Remember me ect. The point is there are many problematic perks that plot twist literally is nowhere near in power level to.

I have no more comments on this

  • You compared two things that weren't related one is extremely powerful in its ability for anti tunnel and chase extending potential the other is basically just a medkit with elusive and a mini SB

Videotape Copy, Bloody Fingernails, & Remote Control are the best addons imo.

Iridescent Videotape is downright offensive. It shouldn't exist. Who runs an addon that removes half of your power?

Im not a big fan of video tape copy if I wanna run a condemned add on it'll be the ring drawing since you can inflict mass condemn with it and force survivors to run cross map so I can intercept the tape run

You can say the same thing to Dead Hard yet it can change the outcome of a match.

Dead hard procs in chase and is a third health state plot twist is a two time stealthy self care with minor buffs after

  • Its a once or twice per game effect it likely will not be changed

  • I play a lot of Sadako and don't like it because it doesn't work without LoS and you should only demanifest when guaranteed the hit

  • Vigil is just super unhealthy for the game as it completely nerfs any killers that do not want to run aura reading or gen regression only.

And its still super unhealthy for the survivor perks themselves too. Vigil being completely busted with exhaustion perks you should not able to gain back the best perks in the game in 25 seconds. Vigil also removes majority of the downsides from the arguably more problematic shoulder the burden and deliverance. It's also insane with blood rush too because you can sprint burst twice then have it 99ed after you finish mending.

But since it isn't incredibly broken aside from when the previous things are in play it will not be changed.

  • @Balrog said:

First, thank you for your post! Whilst we actively read and consider player suggestions, we aren't always able to comment on or confirm specifics about individual ideas.

We genuinely encourage players to continue to share their posts, feedback, and ideas. The effort doesn't go unnoticed!

Thanks! That's what I figured since if you confirmed something or mentioned it and it didn't get brought up in a stream/update people would probably be disappointed

  • I feel like this wasn't much of a problem before people (myself included lmao) started abusing the 15 second basekit BT

  • @Feather said:

Missing near survivour reveals aura of that survivour for 10s

Additionaly give that secondary effect you mentioned and maybe increase that to 40%? We could test that first on ptb to see if thats broken, if it is then 30% would stay

Goofy and maybe boring buff by giving aura, but if you miss survivour at the window you could see what that survivour does next.

This would arguably be better than the orginal idea you can just swing at everything or even a wall at indoor maps or jungle gyms and get full aura reading and easily get a free down

  • I think these changes are probably the most healthy to implement into the game with the least amount of effort needed for the devs. Sadly won't be seeing any changes like this until months from now

  • Tell your friend that its literally just a game that you're meant to have fun on and don't take it seriously and in the future you'll have better experiences

  • Okay okay I know this is going to sound insane but if they buff unrelenting too much (which they will if they do buff it)

Unrelenting will be so broken in chase. Instead of having to worry about survivors mind gaming windows/pallets you can swing at literally everything and not get punished this problem already exist if you run unrelenting with singularity during overclock

  • @Mooks said:

would you also agree with them playing survivor and if they struggle there then balance the game accordingly? Why only limit your suggestion to one side of the game?

On majority of their gameplay streams they play survivor (I think) which is what they're trying to get at and apparently they also have survivor bias which makes sense since its majority of the community. But personally I think they should try to play as and against low tier killers against in public lobbies it'd be fun to watch and might end up like the hag match they did

I don't really care for toxicity tho its not a big deal imo don't concern yourself with the opinions of the unemployed

  • Just give us the werewolf from deceit 2

  • @Yoshirama said:

No, the 8 kick is completly fine.

Remember the 3-gen nerf was purely killer's fault

3 gen nerf was simply because the killers released at the time were ENTIRELY based on protecting areas then they gutted SM for no reason even though the gen kick nerf was the only change needed for her I personally love this change as it would help setup killers and low tiers vastly it also rewards killers for not holding a 3 gen from the start of the match and if they do you can actually play into it

  • I'm a killer main atm and I kinda disagree

(Edit: mild rant incoming also respond to this and let me know if my takes are stupid)

I do think however that the game has sucked out like 90% of the skill required to play the game which is really disheartening especially after they nerfed Wesker who was in a great spot for both sides and now he feels extremely easy and boring to play since they removed flicks and made techs incredibly easy.

I agree that survivors have some absolutely insane perks that would be completely healthy for the game if people didn't optimize it by trying to force the tunnel so you get multiple health states out of it (DS, OTR, DH, ect.) Killers also have a bit of problematic perks but majority are only a problem from my experience if you run 3-4 slowdown, which with some killers is unfortunately needed.

Survivors aren't genrushing nearly as much as you think its just the fact that ever since the pallet density update they went from 12-13 pallets per map to 20-22 which literally doesn't affect you as long as you play an A tier killer, even then by the time the pre dropping sable on tricksters delusion is hooked 2 gens are within 20 seconds of popping. I genuinely did not have a problem with pressuring gens against sprint burst teams until the pallet density update.

The only low tiers I play that actually use bloodlust is Trapper Hag and Sadako and bloodlust genuinely works wonders for them (aside from hag) so I don't find much of an issue with it. But sadly if you wanna win with some of the lower tier killers you have to A: be insane at m1 chase or B: literally one trick the killer.

Realistically if you are above average with the killer you play you should be winning with your killers I have about a 60%-70% kill rate with all my killers.

For some builds you wanted I recommend not running regression perks based on kicking gen since right now depending on the killer you play you just don't have the time for it so I've been running stuff like Pain Resonance, Turn Back the Clock, and whatever other perks I feel works great with the killers. BUT if you play a high mobility killer Eruption + Pop is the best gen regression from my experience. For F2P regression I would run Ruin + Undying or Pain Resonance + Grim Embrace/Pop

    Some basic tips for killers:

1: If you play a setup killer and do not have Corrupt Intervention play around your spawn since survivors will instantly get on generators in their spawn.

2: I'm begging people to learn how to use crows properly especially if you have a bad headset this is genuinely game saving knowledge

3: Use momentum tech if you haven't used for m1 chase already, if you don't know what it is watch a video its great

4: Master your killer specific mindgames this isn't as important as the previous ones but I'd for sure recommend learning it. Examples would be stuff such as Sadako invisibility, or if you cancel your second dash as Houndmasters dog to make people run into you, or fake revving with chainsaw killers.

5: Please stop overcommitting to chases if you jumpscare somebody with a stealth killer and they run away from your 3 gen across the map to shack its just not worth it

6: Stay on one side of the map unless you are high mobility

All in all, as long as you know how to play your killer properly and are good at applying pressure with said killer you should win about 60% of your games which I thought was stupid until I looked at my kill rates and my main killers all sit at around 65-70% kill rate. And remember to have fun and do not take the game seriously its not like the opinions of the unemployed matter to you.
