  • If it were me I would probably run Ruin because it's Ruin, Pop and Discordance so you have an idea of what gens need to be kicked and then bbq for bp's so you can get more perks.

As far as builds go, you could go with brutal, discordance, surveillance and pop as a, I know you're on my gens now get off build.

Nurses, knock out, insidious, with ruin or pop for a slug build while hiding. No expects a clown with insidious.

Devour/Noed/Haunted ground, infectious fright, distressing for a one-shot they crap-in themselves build.

  • Read manga and catch up on youtube.

  • None of those as it depends on a lot of things. In general people will say it's survivors but it all depends on ones own skill.

If you suck as killer then survivors will always be the power role in your games. If you're playing a good killer against bad people then you are the power player to them and have control.

If both sides are fantastic then it depends on map, the killer, and just plain luck. You could play the same match 100 times and it would hardly turn out the same every time.

In general, I'd say the best of the best 4-man swf will win most of the time over everyone else but it's not like they're common.

So in my opinion the power role can be on either side depending on the circumstances.

  • Pretty sure it's just the dedicated servers having issues. A few of his recent videos have been showing how bad the servers can be at times.

I thought it said the 12th, which is today, but I can't find the overview of the release schedule anymore.

Stole this from elk form another thread.

    Untitled Image

  • Tomorrow sometime.

  • If the game is going south and I need a kill if I want a chance, I'll sometimes tunnel or camp out a hook if they're about to die anyway.

I'll also tunnel an OoO because the info they get in a swf can be very powerful.

This is all in the moment though and I won't always do it in these situations. It's just when I do it it's normally because of the above.

  • You might be mashing too fast. I had this problem but it got better when I started to casually hit X instead of really fast.

I don't know why but if you hit X too fast it won't register sometimes and you'll just die. :/

  • There should be a I don't care at all option because pips and rank are pretty pointless at the moment. A lot of people couldn't care less about piping or they try to depip on purpose.

  • I think killer emotes would be great.

Stuff like maybe pointing their weapon or a creepy laugh. Simple stuff just like survivors have.

  • Depends on whether not they boost the rift things you get in the upcoming tomes. If they keep them the same as tome 1 then as long as you can do all the tome challenges, you'll be pretty close if 47 is the last tier for serums. If they do boost them then I think it'll be pretty easy to get that far as long as you're making some attempts.

Also, as far as I'm aware, the serums last for the entire tome so we still have 50 some days as of writing this which doesn't seem too bad. I'm sure the time will catch up to some people and they'll be lost though.

  • Yes but I think it should be a perk that does it. It wouldn't be super strong but it would combo well with huntress lullaby and maybe some other builds; might even catch people off guard.

Not sure on what the skillcheck rate should be but I think something similar to doctor or pig skill check speed could work.

  • 17 or so with all the tome 1 challenges done within a couple days.

Once we hit rank reset I'll probably hit it hard for a couple days and see if I can get ahead of the game.

  • Been playing for the last 5 hours or so and I've had one dc mid game so far. I'll usually get around 1dc error every ten games or so. No idea why but I've just kind of gotten used to it and accepted it.

The one that happened today was actually with my buddy. It kicked me about 1 minute into the game and said everyone had escaped like the killer dced. Him and the other two were still in game though and it was only I who was dced.

It is normally only survivor when this happens. Killer is normally pretty good with that.

  • Facing the same killer or getting the same map multiple times in a row.

I'm pretty okay with everything else. I'll get annoyed at omega-tunneling or camping but I can also laugh at it because they just seem so angry sometimes.

When I get the same killer on the same map multiple games in a row, I'm just sad and it takes a lot of fun out of it. :/ I love the variation.

  • None of them. They were all pretty easy to get, even without really trying. It took me three maybe four games for the crow one but I wasn't actually working on it. Most of the challenges I just put on and then played normally since they'd happen naturally most of the time.

I was worried about the two trapper ones since I suck as him but I got them both first try. The EGC one I slugged for and the 4k one took me a few games because I didn't slug and the last survivor kept getting hatch.

All in all I had no issues and I'm quite excited for tome 2 now.

  • Honestly, I wish there was a way to let yourself bleed out faster on the ground so you could do this in game and have it be "fair". You can let yourself go on hook, I think it'd be neat to do the same on the ground so you can give the last person alive a chance at hatch instead of the hide-and-seek until I'm dead game.

Actually, I think it'd be cool for the survivor to have to crawl to the hook and interact with it to sacrifice themselves that way it's not free either. It'd also allow people to get out of those games where the killer just slugs everyone and lets you all bleedout.

I don't really get why it annoys people when they dc for hatch. I think it's funny considering the person lost everything just so someone else could get some extra points. The points you lose isn't really all that much either and it means the game is over quicker so you can get in another one. I've been on both sides of this so maybe that's why I don't get mad about it.

  • Unless I'm doing some kind of specific build, I'll always run it for those sweet bloodpoints.

  • Because proper gen-tapping only loses you like 30 seconds or so which is around 4 failed skills checks.

And I mean proper as in 17-18 points per tap with very quick reflexes on those taps. I'm not sure of the exact number but I think 19 points has a chance of blowing up where 17 or 18 will give you a beep but no explosion. If you just spam tap, you end up adding an extra minute or so and if you're not quick on continuous taps you also add extra time which adds up to taking forever on a gen that you could have failed around 10 times and still be ahead.

I think people should power through so they can get better at greats so that they can hit them when ruin is gone but if gen-tapping is done properly, you don't lose all that much time. Most people don't do it properly though. I also tap if it's around 80-90% and the game feels like spamming me with skill checks.

  • According to the wiki, yes it does.

  • I've had a few but can't really remember too many of them but I have a couple that come to mind

One guy got killed mid-game we ended up down to one gen with billy patrolling them. Billy ended up slugging and I was the last one alive with billy on my tail. I managed to lose him at the killer shack long enough to go towards a survivor. I healed the guy and dead-harded just as billy swung so he missed. Billy then chases the guy that got up and he dead hards a billy swing and makes a pallet and loses him in the corn. We then got the other guy up and we all healed to full.

Billy still had us good with the 3 gen strat but I ended up finishing it in front of him after he hits me once instead of chainsawing, dead-harding to miss his next swing and then leading him around long enough for the others to get the door open. He got me and camped me till death but it was super worth it. Very exciting game and good plays from everyone.

I also had a game with my buddy and we normally play dwight with a beanie, pizza backpack, and pink pants. Had some random guy put on the outfit as well and then we memed a bit together in the beginning. The killer was bubba and hooked the other person before coming over to us. He just stared at us and we slowly walked towards him and he backed off and shook his head. We ended up memeing most of the game and farmed a bit. Best part was me and my friend decided to die from end game while slowly stalking bubba and the random joined us, even got a few screenshots that the bubba sent to me. Funnest game I've had just memeing around by far.

I've personally had issues with ping. Before the update, I had consistent 100 ping as survivor and killer. Now everyone's hanging around at the 200 mark. I've even had a couple cases of infinite/ridiculous loading screens.

The 200 ping might be do to more players in various countries. I've played against maybe 1 US killer in the last few days who had green ping but everyone else is in the 200's. France, Germany, Italy, UK, and Scotland to name a few. I love being able to play with people across the world but the ping suffers for it.

  • Rework prayer beads, no collision with survivors while in phase, slightly more sparkly and amp up her feet sounds so it's closer to wraith.

She already sparkles a bit and you can hear footsteps but it's so low that it's not really useful.

Honestly with those, I think she'd be fine as it becomes a game of who has the better hearing and reaction time. Still strong but survivors can hear her and make plays around it. You could even rework some addons to make her less sparkly or have her footsteps be silent.

All this said, I don't really have a problem with spirit as she is. I just don't want to face her a 5+ games in a row.

  • They took out being able to grab someone when they changed the hatch mechanics. You can close the hatch now but you can't grab them out anymore.

As for the mori issue, it was probably just latency if I had to guess.

  • No? It's not toxic to flashlight save or just in general, it's what they're there for.

  • Other survivors. I don't mind mistakes but after getting farmed multiple games in a row, I get annoyed to the point I'll be spiteful about it.

It's also kind of annoying that I rarely get a killer from the US so I'm constantly with yellow ping. I don't mind playing with other people from anywhere in the world but the ping difference just kills me sometimes. It's to the point I usually use BPS whenever I see green ping because it's so rare.

  • It changed a lot for me over my time of playing.

When I first got into the game, it was Urban evasion, then it became Self Care for a while followed by Spine chill and then lastly dead hard and decisive.

As of now I don't really have any must have perks as I'm making different builds with survivors so I can just play what I feel like in the moment. I have a head-on build with dwight, an immersive build with claudete and the meta build with david. I plan to do a healing build with someone, a bl build with meg and a sabo build with jake. Not sure on other builds yet. Maybe a no mither build on someone would be interesting.

I just want to point out, if the hatch hasn't spawned, it's not really 50/50.

Killer has a big edge in finding the hatch. First off, the killer moves faster, which is a slight advantage. Second, the killer has free reign of the center of the map. That's a huge advantage since most hatches spawn in the center of the map and not the edges. Killer can go around faster without worry and can find the hatch a lot faster.

Survivor has to avoid the killer and moves slower to boot.

If the hatch spawns at the edges of the map survivor has a 50/50 chance of getting to it first. Otherwise the odds are closer to 90/10 in favor of the killer -- and again the hatch spawns near the center of the map more commonly rather than at the edges. On some maps the chances are different (like on Hawkins and The Game) but in general the Killer has a huge advantage in finding the hatch. It's not 50/50.

The great equalizer is the key - if the survivor has a key the match skews 99/1 in favor of the survivor at end game, and survivor will almost always win it unless the killer is aware of the key, in which case it becomes slightly harder but still in favor of the survivor.

Very fair point. I meant it's more more up to chance when neither side knows where the hatch is as it can spawn in various places, but yeah, I agree it is more killer favored in that regard.

That said, I don't hide in those situations. I think the proper move is bolting around the map as quick as you can checking normal spawn spots and if the killer see's you, they tend to switch focus on you instead of finding hatch which gives you more time depending on your looping ability and what's available to you.

If you hide and move around slow, the killer will almost always find it first and then it becomes a door game. I find running and getting their attention and then looking for hatch gives you the best chance since you're always in front and can go from loop to loop wasting everything to give you extra time. Of course, this has a lot of factors such as the killer you're facing, your looping ability, what pallets are left, etc. but I still find this gives the best results with bonus benefit if you have the hatch finding perk. This is from my own experiences of course, I'm sure other peoples experiences with vary.

  • Time period and these dates were mentioned in another thread. You can also go to the news rift section and it should show the dates.

    Tome 2: 13th Nov

    Tome 3: 27th Nov

    Tome 4: 18th Dec

  • I mean, there's a few ways to work around this as Killer.

If hatch hasn't spawned, it's 50/50 who finds it first. Nothing you can do if they get there before you.

If hatch has spawned, go find it before hooking the 2nd to last person that way you can just sit on it and close it when it opens or alternatively slug and try and find the last guy.

It's also pretty dangerous to try for unhooks when you're the only one left as you lack information on the killer's wearabouts unless you're swf. I appreciate it when it happens but I'd hardly consider it low if a survivor leaves someone on the hook when they're the last one alive. In that situation, normally only one will ever make it out anyway.

  • Pretty easy so far and I have just a couple left. I was worried about the trapper one since I'm awful with placement but I got lucky and had some potatoes.

  • Dwight with the pizza backback, beanie w/sunglasses and pink pants. It's beautiful.

  • *Thanks you in Beetle*

  • I'd care about rank more if had rewards to it and wasn't so easy to rank up. I play the game semi-casually as survivor and end up dead most games and still end up around rank 5 before it resets again, just playing a couple times a week for a few hours. Do a gen with prove thyself, run the killer for all of 10 seconds, get a rescue and bam, you've pipped or at least a safety. With the new extra points coming up so it becomes easier to get boldness and survival, it'll be pretty easy to almost guarantee pip.

As killer it's a little harder since if you do too good you only safety and other times dc's mess you up or you get steamrolled.

While it's true that the better your rank, the better the chance of finding good teammates becomes as well as better killers, it's still just a sign of how much you play rather than pure skill imo. Plenty of good players in crap ranks because they only play on occasion and I've seen god awful players in decent ranks that just play a ton.

Nothing wrong with being proud and happy with your rank but I just can't see any reason to since you just end up facing the same killers over and over and it becomes boring without any reward. I like facing the spirit; I don't like facing any killer 5+ games in a row.

I do get the competitiveness as I'm also competitive but I normally only get sweaty as killer and that's only at certain times. On survivor I just try to have fun and mess around while still playing. Just my 2-cents on the matter.

  • If it happens me and my buddy will normally both close app and it tends to fix it. Sometimes when you go into a lobby and the killer leaves right away it will bug the lobby. It shows you both together but you're in separate lobbies.

A good way to check is asking each other what character you're using and clothes setup or just switching characters since it won't show your friend if it's bugged.

  • Depends on whether or not the last person annoyed me or not. If they actually attempted to do stuff in the game then I'll normally let go for them so they have a chance, if they're teabaging I still will. There's not really too many ways you can say "hey, I found the hatch". They also don't know if the killer is camping me or not and coming out of hiding to go to the hook can get them killed. Thinking on it, I'll normally struggle if the killer is camping me just for the points since I know the other person is in no danger. If they try for a rescue while I'm being camped I'll let go.

I appreciate when people try and go for the save but there really isn't much reason besides sexy points. When two people are left with gens, it's almost guaranteed that one of you is dead unless a key is in play. If I'm on the hook first then that's just how it goes.

Now if the gates are open, no noed, and it's my first hook and I just see the last person sitting at the gate, it pets my peeve but I do understand at least. Now if everyone was alive and no one goes for the rescue, that just make my fries extra salted and I have to take a break to lower my sodium intake.

  • I used to play killer a lot more but as of recent I've been playing both pretty evenly.

  • I don't think there is any list as far as I know. I saw this question last night and looked around and only found the hud indicator you mentioned but no list that shows what perks show on the hud.

I'm pretty sure some killer addons show up down there as well.

Off the top of my head,

Thanatophobia, Dying Light, prove thyself, streetwise, the chain addon from freddy, leader, up the ante, boil over, I think borrowed time and we'll make it or at the very least it alerts you for those two.

I'm sure there's more but you'd have to test each one in game to see if shows up on the hud. Sorry I couldn't be more help. :/

  • Depends on the ping for me. I've been spamming the button as killer and sometimes I win, sometimes I lose; same when I'm playing survivor.

  • I mostly play Doctor, Wraith, Michael and Clown.

I used to play Hag/Bubba quite a bit when I first got the game but I don't play them quite as much anymore.

I've been playing more Freddy recently though and am really enjoying him so he'll probably join the others as people I generally play.

I very rarely play Nurse or Billy as I'm god awful.

Everyone else I play for dailies or if I'm feeling adventurous.

I wouldn't really consider any of them my main though. I don't like to play any killer for more than 2-3 games at a time unless I'm going for a trophy.

  • Depends really. The better the huntress the more powerful that addon combo becomes.

If it's a bad huntress then it's worth concern but not too bad.

If it's a great huntress then it's normally overkill by a lot.

Most people seem to dc against it so even if it's a bad huntress people are gone and you have little chance.

I've only seen it once in a few hundred hours and the person was awful so I don't really have any complaints about it personally.

  • Unpopular opinion: Killing everyone in the basement doesn't sound all that bad. Just running basement builds, it tends to happen after a few games without trying.

Besides that, yeah I'm guessing some of the challenges are going to be god awful. But I'm also assuming that those god awful challenges will be different for everyone. I think 4 basement kills is fine even though everyone else doesn't. I'm more worried about anything involving flashlights as I'm dreadful at aiming them.

Should be interesting to see either way. Good or bad, I'm looking forward to it since it's something else to do in the game. I like having little goals like that.

  • I've only dced from being mad a few times. The first was an ebony mori legion and I got farmed with no bt while the killer was chasing the person. I dced just so the legion didn't have to waste time on the animation and would go after the other survivor. I wouldn't dc in that situation nowadays but back then I'd get so annoyed when my teammates were trash like that.

I've also dced a few times against killers wanting a 4k to give randoms hatch. I don't do it a lot and know it's considered scummy but I'll take the loss of all my points to let someone else get out. I haven't done that since before the hatch change though if memory serves.

As far as recent dc's go; nothing major unless I'm memeing around. Had a Billy game where someone got downed quick and they dced. The Billy then got someone else hiding nearby and hooked them next to the corpse so me and my friend came out and started t-bagging the corpse in front of Billy and the hooked person, he chainsawed us and we dced on her body. Messaged him after and he thought it was hilarious.

  • Holding O drops a survivor.

Up on the d-pad is to point. ^_^

  • The full Clown and Spirit for sure.

Debating on buying Jake and Hag.

  • I love all of the clowns cosmetics and spirit is probably close second.

My favorite cosmetic in the game for killer has to Cabbage Hag though. Just something about it that makes me really happy

  • When I see another survivor or I get healed I'll do the thank-you tbag of friendship.

I'll tbag the killer if they're face camping or if he's super tunnely. Like, abandons an injured person midchase to go back and get the person that was unhooked tunnelly. It's more to try and keep their attention then actually bming them though.

I also sometimes do a single tbag and nod if the killer does something silly during a chase and they know it. Like, they start shaking their head at you after falling in the hole on the game. It's more a "yeah, I saw what you did" tbag/nod.

  • Plague. Her skins are super boring; even the new halloween one is pretty lackluster imo.

  • You can play any killer and be fine at rank 1 but some killers are certainly better than others.

The Original Meta: Nurse, Billy, and Spirit

Honestly just as viable: Huntress, Hag, and Freddy

Still Pretty Good: Demogorgan, Michael, Ghostface

May have a bit harder time but still usable: Everyone else.

More indepth reviews from my own experiences.

Nurse: Blinks through crap and when you're good, you win most of them. I'm on ps4 but I've seen good pc nurses and know she's great.

Spirit: Gets around the map quick and when you're good, it's very easy to down people. Can be hurt with iron will/ Spine chill.

Billy: Instadown plus great map pressure. Can be looped but a good billy can get them sweet corners.

Huntress: Has range but is slow. Requires quite a bit of practice and understanding of survivors to become great with her.

Hag: Great defensive killer when played properly but can be shutdown by flashlights and poor planning. Do not over commit to a chase as she is quite slow.

Freddy: Map control, spoopyness, fake pallets/slowdown. Personally, I'd say he's becoming more and more meta.

Demogorgon: Map control and lunge though it requires proper timing and knowledge of loops. He okay.

Micheal: Instadown but loopable. Has various ways he can be played so he doesn't get quite as repetitive. Spoopy.

Ghostface: Can be hard to keep track of on loops but his power is normally hit or miss.

Everybody else has their ups and downs but the people above are normally considered the "better" killers but everybody has their own opinion on who's good and bad.

I'd say play all of them a little and whoever you end up liking, just stick with them.
