Did you mori the one right off the hook?
Did the other 2 die on their first hook?
Did you play or wait to mori off the first hook?
This^
You get like almost no points or pips if you mori people right off their hooks or refuse to let survivors rescue off hooks so you only get 1 hook per person. You literally have to let people take other survivors off hooks and get your full 3 hooks per person.

Idk, when I started playing killer it took me like 3 weeks to reach red ranks (with no add-ons, no offerings, mostly base perks for each killer because I didn't have teachables unlocked). But I find killer kind of boring and repetitive & a lot of it is just knowing where survivors are going to run and beating them there by taking shortcuts lol.
-
Wow amazing come back. So logical and thought out.
Have you completely forgotten that Hillbilly/Nurse/Spirit/etc exist? There'd be no point in even bothering to try to open the doors once the hatch was closed.
-
That'd be insanely OP.

I’m not talking about plopping down in the middle of an open space. Killers have eyes, ears and aura reading perks with which to find healing survivors.
People who know how to use self-care know that you use it next to a finished generator, outside of the killer's terror radius.
-
I sometimes run the killer to my teammate instead because I feel like I'm a more valuable asset to the team than them, especially when I play Dwight with Prove Thyself/Leader.
-
You have to play in a SWF to be honest, even at red ranks.

Let me just hold up a mirror here:
Why is getting a hatch escape so important to you? Why are you prioritizing survival over having fun?
My most enjoyable survivor match yesterday was one where Huntress slugged my only teammate until he bled out and chased me for ages. I didn't survive, but the killer and all my teammates stuck around afterwards to say how much fun we all had.
It's not the hatch escape that they're complaining about--it's that killers will slug and leave someone on the ground for 3 minutes to bleed out while they search for the other survivor. That's not fun. Just hook the survivor and race to the hatch.
-
It'd be fun, but there'd be a lot of tunneling.

There is no smurfing in this game because the devs don't a really even bin by skill. I play killer at maybe rank 13? And all I play against are meta survivors with rank 1-3 or so and all the perks. They meme me so hard. It's not fun, but the game is worth it for the progression and the times when matchmaking doesn't dick you over.
Maybe some day there will be matchmaking so it will be possible to play the game without getting stomped by people with all the perks.
This^
There's literally no way to smurf in this game, match-making is non-existent.

Because I play with my friends, tbh and I take very long breaks from the game (like months long breaks).
-
I have had almost entirely negative experiences with moris--except with one last night. My friend was getting mori-ed by Ghostface and another survivor jumped into it to be in the picture.
Pretty much the only time it's been fun.
-
Yeah, I'm a red rank survivor and I get matched up with new killers all the time. It makes me feel a little bad because the skill discrepancy is obvious.
-
Not really. Self care has helped me more often than it's hurt me, but I'm also not a person who sits in a corner self-caring and it's usually a last resort.
-
My queue times have been fine. I played alone, with a duo, with a trio, and with a 4 stack & they weren't that bad.
The thing that was bad was that 3 killers in a row quit in the middle of a match. 1 because we popped gens too quickly, 1 because they got hit with a pallet, 1 because we played a shroud of union.

yea get rid of Sprint Burst and Lithe then see how survivors like it pretty much BL for survivors.
Since when is sprint burst and lithe base kit like BL is?
-
My games as both killer and survivor have been fine without bloodlust. Maybe it's because I play huntress and I have good aim, but I don't see a point in having it.

I like having fun cosmetics & supporting artists (buying cosmetics keeps BHVR's concept artists & 3D artists employed). Idk how much money I've spent in the years I've been playing it--maybe something like $160 - $200?

??? That has nothing to do with the issue I described
Like hell anyone's going to enjoy a broken game that punishes them for playing well
It has everything to do with the issue you described & what you're asking: how are you supposed to play this game that is known to be riddled with ridiculous bugs.
The game as broken as hell, there's a lot of bugs. It's not an actual competitive game, it's a party game and it's only fun if you're playing it for fun. Getting hit ten feet away from a window you already vaulted is devastating when you're playing to win, it's just laughably stupid when you remember it's not a polished E-Sport ready game.
-
For the People is one of my favorite perks.
-
Tbh it's a party game and you need to learn to treat it like one in order to play & enjoy the game.
-
When I play solo I usually end up in red ranks, if I play SWF I usually end up stuck in purple ranks. I have like a 50% survival rate alone & a loooow survival rate when I play with friends. I suspect it's because I play safer and concentrate more when I'm playing alone rather than laughing/talking over Discord. Or worse, my friends give me bad info a lot and I rely on it and I turn around and there's a killer next to me and I'm like, what you said he was in the shack.

i seriously hate people like you, no offense but hes a pretty damn weak killer and half the people that struggle with him are the people who dont belong anywhere near red rank. legit played a game today where two people killed them self on first hook versing a death slinger and its a joke, they went down in like 5 seconds because they was being stupid and messing around in the same area, like what do you expect at game start? the same death slinger though chased me for a solid 2mins. now either im a god (im not, i run into tree alot with non meta builds) or you guys do nothing but complain against weak ass killers who move at 110% and cannot hurt you over 90% of pallets...
Pretty much this^, people just need to adapt to play against him (like prethrowing pallets), but they just... don't?
-
I usually hit overcharge skill checks. They're not that hard. Sometimes it's a pain in the ass against the doctor because his ability makes it go backwards or something suddenly.
-
What system do you play on/what's your rank? I'd be down to play with you sometime if you're interested!
-
When I was red rank I was frequently placed with people who were like rank 18. I'm purple now because I haven't played in a while--and I get placed with and against yellow ranks even more now. I really doubt this is their fault.

No? It's common knowledge that you crouch at hag traps but not that you can hold down crouch when getting off hook.
-
@Blueberry said:

It does recognize it. If you just hold crouch as you're being unhooked it will not trigger the trap.
That's good to know--but also kind of niche info?
-
@cyniChris said:
Hag main here. Never seen what you're experiencing, personally. You can set traps that have their trigger radius covering the hooked survivor, but it shouldn't trigger during the unhook. The only time I've had a trap set off when someone's been unhooked is if they walk/run straight away.
Do you hold crouch while being unhooked, and keep it held until you're away from the trap?
Does it still recognize that you're crouching if you're stuck in an animation? I had a match where whenever someone's feet touched the ground during their unhook, it'd immediately set off traps.

... the perks i mentioned were Legion specific and don't make tons of sense on other Killers
I can give you a different example for whichever Killer you main. Just let me know
Hi, I main Legion.
-
You don't need those perks to be good at playing killer. Most of playing killer is learning when to chase/when to cut a chase, who to go after/when and how to predict survivors paths. You only need those kinds of perks once you reach red ranks. I have all of the DLC and I don't use any of those 99% of the time that I play & I've been red ranks.
-
Just play like you would normally but as Meg & eventually you'll get it. That's pretty much how I treat all challenges.

not true if people don't rescue, if they dont' engage, or are a swf to keep away from the killer you won't get the emblem progress you want for that match. it isn't as easy for someone that isn't always playing or playing killer to have the higher skills. gold is much easier than iri I agree, but that's 4 in ONE match, you have to get chaser, gatekeeper, devout AND malicious that's not easy
?? If you don't play a lot of killer then your rank is probably like 20 - 16, where even a newbie killer can get 4 golds. You to have to be playing with your bellybutton to not get good emblems at that rank.

Well I just faced a tunneling huntress who immediately ate DS on 3 survivors and downed survivors 3 seconds after the stun. The terror raidus thing wasn't as bad due to some survivors running spine chill or swf telling them where the killer was.
Right now DS gives some killers license to just tunnel any survivor they want.
Ahh yeah, that's a good point. I have been noticing a lot more tunneling lately.
-
Meme play.
My friend & I have been using the Felix & Kate Oktoberfest outfits and we renamed ourselves Hansel & Gretel and have been running around matches annoyingly touching all of the killer's belongings. We obviously don't win a lot of matches.

4 gold emblems as killer is not easy for some to get ... for others sure if you're a killer main it won't be hard to get. I'm going to have to do it as survivor in a 4 man swf and even then it's not that even a guaranteed. :)
I play both killer and survivor and it's not really that hard on either of them. It's probably easier on killer than survivor because survivor is so team dependent.
-
@CashelP14 said:
Yes because survivors wanted the terror radius bug fixed before the DS bug lol
I don't use DS, I wanted the terror radius bug fixed before the DS bug. I was tired of every game being played against a stealth killer--and tbh as a killer it felt kind of scummy.

I play both sides (get all the rift shards from the tome itself) the killers are forced to go through a master challenge where survivors are not. survivors can take multiple matches to complete each and every challenge, in the path to the epilogue, in multiple matches. Killer will be stuck till they get 4 gold emblems. This should be an optional thing and they should be allowed to just go straight through. hell even the near miss can be done in multiple matches. killers are blocked at 4 gold emblems in ONE match.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/discussion/comment/1625586#Comment_1625586
none of the challenges, all standard, for the survivor require escaping the match for the path to the epilogue. your argument is invalid, I was never talking about doing the whole tome just the path to epilogue.
?????? 4 gold emblems is not that hard????
-
Then play the survivor route? I'm not sure what the issue is here. Personally, I do all challenges for both sides?

Basic math is all.
Survivors move at 100% movement speed which is defined as 4.0 m/s
Most killers move at 115% movement speed which is defined as 4.6 m/s
After you DS, I believe the survivor is animation locked for 1 second. After which they get 4 seconds of movement. During that 4 seconds, they can cover 16 meters before the killer gets to move. Now, if the killer starts chasing them and they both run in a straight line. The killer gains 0.6 m/s. Now factor in lunge range which is 6 meters on every killer. But generally you won't hit them at the very tip, so you'll go for 5 meters. But generally you also are worried about a dead hard, or getting spun and with latency and such it's probably around 4 meters.
16 meters away - 4 meters (lunge range accounting for latency and dealing with dead hard/spins) = 12 meters to cover.
Now do basic math
12 meters / 0.6 meters per second = 20 seconds to catch up and down a survivor
I guess i exaggerated a bit, so it is 20 seconds, but 20 seconds is a damn long time when that means the other 3 survivors can each complete 1/4 of a gen which amounts to 15% of their objective for finishing the generators. Now factor in a whole team having it, that's now 60% of the teams objective done if you get hit with DS 4 times. Now factor in the fact that i am talking about the survivor just running in a straight line and not using windows or pallets.
DS is much stronger than you think.
Except no one plays in a perfect world and the other survivors probably spent that 20 seconds with their thumbs in their asses wondering what's going on. I don't use DS, but as a killer it's never impacted me that badly.
-
@Reinami said:

a 5 second stun on DS gives the survivor 30 second head start. It literally takes the killer 30 seconds to catch up to the survivor if all they do is run in a straight line. Now factor in that they get pallets and windows and can potentially juke the killer and escape, that 5 seconds is a lot of time. If you don't get that much time you are bad.
I'm sorry but I need to see your proof about this guaranteed 30 second headstart on a 5 second stun because I'm not buying it.

Winning is more rewarding. I play to win, to dominate my opponents.
People like you in the playerbase make me extremely uncomfortable to play this game.
@ OP: The reason for playing nice is because it's a game--and it's a game where rank doesn't matter. In fact, the higher you go in rank, the worse the game is, so you might as well just do things to have fun with it. Personally unless I'm doing a tome challenge, I always mess around and meme a bit in my matches.

Or maybe survs made so many mistakes that I eat ds or maybe cuz they try hook bombing.Pal ur killer expeerience must be minimum
I'm a red rank killer PAAAAL, BUDDDY, FRIEND-O.
If they're hook bombing then go after the unhookers and spread out the pain & eating the DS is not an issue. You WANT to eat the DS before they can use it in end game.
-
@Primalux135 said:
I hope it becomes 3 secs stun forever. You got a second chance I want mine too.
Lol what are you talking about? If you got DSed it means you tunneled off hook--so three seconds or not, you're probably going to continue to tunnel. Even regular DS only sort of buys a little bit of time in that situation unless it's end-game and you're next to a gate.
-
As a survivor I can't let anyone die, I take it very personally. Sometimes I'll sacrifice myself to save someone because THEY MUST LIVEEEEEE, RUN FREE MEG. and then obviously they die a foot away from me because they ran into a wall.

Really ppl? Bunch of entitled survivors... Smh
What even is this comment? I don't understand at all what you're saying, no one has made any comments about what survivors should or shouldn't have but you.
But here you go:
I used to be a red rank killer and I'm a red rank survivor. I don't use add-ons or offerings in 90% of my games for either role. I think add-ons for both role are stupid and I hate having to play around them on either side.
-
You're kind of ignoring though that chases have gotten shorter and shorter. Pallets are more & more unsafe as time goes on, infinites don't exist anymore, windows get blocked after a while, there's breakable walls now and a lot of loops have been remapped since the new maps started coming out.
I play a lot of killer and chases do not last very long even in red ranks. It's not really the players that's wrong, it's that the game doesn't offer a lot else.
