I had a basement Bubba who just hid his face after getting a pallet dropped in his face. He wouldn't come out.
Lol, I've done this. Like I always reach a point in DBD where I play enough killer that I get exhausted & something small makes me snap a bit & I end up just AFKing with my face in a corner and watching youtube on my second monitor until I'm free.
I understand killers who are idling to try to change their MMR. Matches at high MMR suck.
-
Four years ago I left a bad review on Steam for DBD.
Steam reminds me every time I play & asks me to change my review. I refuse, I stand by my bad review, and then I log in to play again.

MMR is all fake idk why people keep acting like it's a real thing whenever numerous streamers have proved it to not be real and BHVR themselves have proven it in the dev interviews which is why all the "DBD is like Hockey" memes were made, I've played this game since release and I max both my survivor and killer grade every reset maining nurse, oni, or demo more often than not, I've literally just last week 4kd on a game where Cope was a survivor in the lobby and Cope is pretty darn good at survivor, so tell me why "MMR" decided to give me brainless buffoons the next match who died at 5 gens? Swf in duos are common but 4 man swf is not common and there's literally no way you play against that every game.
Going to disagree here.
I used to play a lot of killer, I was usually rank 2 or rank 1 by the end of the month when I used to play & then I took a year+ long break and came back recently to MMR being implemented. At first my matches were extremely easy. Like... survivors not seeing me while I walk over and pick them up off of generators easy.
After about 8 - 10 hours of playing across a few days, almost every match I get placed in are absolute sweatfests. I'm only like.. 'gold grade whatever' or something, but my matches are exactly how my red rank matches used to be--organized survivors that know the location of every pallet/loop & know every safe zone and how to coordinate to trade hooks while always having gens popping.
The game seems to have very quickly put me at a specific skill level. I believe there's an MMR, though whether or not it's made my experience better is another entirely different thing, lol. It used to be that I didn't have to worry about sweaty SWFs until red ranks.
-
I've been playing the game since release and it took me two years to ever try killer. I tried trapper and stepped in my own trap & had to get a pep talk from the survivors after match because I did so poorly--AFTER I took another 6 months to try again. My friend also has been playing as long as me, but she only plays killer like... maybe once or twice a year. She mostly just watches my streams when I play. So, there's definitely people who only play one side.
-
I never really counted, but I've been playing since 2016 & I have all the DLC & a lot of cosmetics, so it actually might be more.
-
I've been playing since 2016, no legacy items, though.
-
I was a rank 7 killer and I opened my game and now I'm rank 19. I went from rank 3 on survivor to rank 8.
It really doesn't bother me though, if I'm honest.
Edit: Also, I redeemed the code?

Or you know, people could just accept they lost. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. Being delusional and reshape reailty so you still think you won when you didn't seems pretty sad.
But looking at this thread full of people who can't win the game so they pretend they don't even care about it and make excuses as to why they can't get a 4k as killer seems copium is in the air.
It's ok to lose. It's not ok to pretend you won when you didn't win.
You have a really, really unhealthy mindset about this game.
Besides that, it seems like you don't really understand that there's no definitive winning or losing in DBD. The killer could get a 4k, but if everyone leaves with a buttload of points and a pip up, then no one really lost. Same is said about the killer--everyone could escape but if they were all on their death hooks and you rank up at the end, then you didn't really lose, you just played a match.
DBD is not like Overwatch or other actual competitive games. If it was, and dying in a match actually counted as losing, there wouldn't be a playerbase.

Probably so he can't just block every doorway without punishment.

Yes but then you have to move to the gen first while you could have already been on the gen.
And as i said if your solo you might not even know someone got caught. Someone could have had a bad spawn near the killer, run them around for 20 seconds, get hit and only then a solo would know the stealth plan isn't working out. That's a lot of chase time going to waste
Early game survivors are at their strongest and it's really risky to just bank that everyone remains hidden to lose that early game pressure survivors have
Ofcourse in a perfect world where all survivors are coordinated it's good if you can outstealth a corrupt but in my experience there are to many things that can make it fail to be worth it.
Good idea in theory, unreliable in practice imo
Doesn't the survivors icon light up in the HUD when they're being chased?
-
1) I don't actually know, I started in 2016 though, so.... A pretty early chapter.
2) I started with Nea, had a while where I was really into Dwight, now I'm a certified Kate main.
3) The first killer I mained was actually Legion. I didn't play killer at all until they were released, now I play a lot of Trickster.
-
Yeah--if the chase goes on long enough you're going to finish healing yourself and get a health state back. I do the same thing with exhaustion perks, I stop and take breaks from running as much as I can during chases to get my lithe back.

Then same as you're trying to survive the killer is trying to kill, hope you don't go around crying about the evil slugger "holding the game hostage" because he made you waste 4 minutes cuz you refuse to be put on hook. If the survivor refuses to end the game the easy way then they'll have to wait.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2131568#Comment_2131568
It's not the same at all. If you have to slug a 3rd survivor to find the 4th because of some bullshit mechanic that gives whoever is the last man standing a free win with no effort required then the 3rd one has no right to complain, specially when it's his teammate the one just waiting for him to die so they can go through the hatch.
Survivors crying about killers making them waste the full 4 minutes on the floor when they refuse to be picked up, put on hook and accept the loss so the game can end immediatly does give the killer the right to complain. They put themselves in that situation and could have easily ended it but choose not to.
Survivors are not entitled to a win.
Do you even read your posts or do you just vomit a bunch of stuff onto your keyboard?

@justbecause said:
I'm more shocked by the fact y'all call eachothers trash, shits etc over a game absolutely disgusting
Welcome to online gaming. Are you new?
-
Echoing that they're probably players who took a break.
This actually happens to me & my friend all the time. We're usually about ranks 2 & 4, but we take long breaks from the game (our interest kind of waxes/wanes) and get booted back to like rank 17-ish all the time.
-
I don't really like BBQ that much, so yeah probably not. I just like the BP bonus.
-
The trap timer doesn't go down while the survivor is being chased, though.
-
I survivor most of the time on it as survivor. It's actually pretty tough on killer, though.

Are you insane?

No people actually say that and that's why. If people don't like "Just throwing pedo around" then they probably want you to use the word MAP. It's more sensitive to people who hurt children.
No. ######### are you talking about? You can't throw the word 'pedophile' around because The Trickster is obviously modeled off of real k-pop stars, lol. & If you're saying that he 'looks like a pedophile' then you're insulting people he was modeled off of.
-
Creepy pedo face?
My dude, you can't just throw around 'pedo' like it's nothing.
-
The idea of her strapping two axes together for a bigger axe actually kind of cracked me up, I'm not going to lie.

Have you SEEN all of those deadzones on the new maps? Spooky scary.
(alternatively, have you see the amount of pallets on some of the OTHER new maps?)

You haven’t played since they just updated him have you? Go check out how he moves now not how he moves since he came out.
He still moves slower when he's got his knives out--and again, like the first response mentioned, it takes -8- knives to do one health state. He's not as slow as Huntress during wind-up because her hatchets only take 1 hit per health state, have higher accuracy, and have a longer usable distance.
-
I just played him and I could kind of feel an improvement--but he's still pretty tough to play. Unfortunately now that he has been buffed a little, I can see how he could easily be a problem if he's buffed too much. I don't envy the devs for having to find a middle ground.
-
For everyone who is arguing that Trickster doesn't fit the game--have you considered the possibility that he fits what the devs are planning to do with the game? Think about it. Does anyone remember their Elf Dwight twitter for December? How about the fact that there's an Elf Dwight outfit, Dwight in a Box, & two characters who have skins that are onsies? The maps are getting reworked to be brighter and brighter (especially the Coldwind Farm maps). The killer before Trickster has a little goofy boob guy that chases after you & you can kick him when he misses.
They are NOT worried about your spooky gameplay experience, they know where their game is going & has been going for a long time.

It is literally not hard to run early and set yourself up in a loop.
And yet not everyone can do it. & the people who CAN do it are people who don't need loading screen tips.
-
No? Because not cleansing is only a tip that works in higher ranks when you're playing with people who are good at running the killer and don't need two health states. Not cleansing also isn't an intended game mechanic, it's just a possible strategy (that again, only works for some people).

Now that's out of order game play to be honest. What's more important? Tram mates and all escaping together or fixing a sodding totem gaining 50bps 😂 literally by your feets and sods off takes the piss.
Right?! It was so weird because like... the killer was NO WHERE near us. She probably could have easily unhooked me & healed me, because after I got unhooked by the Feng (just before going into second hook stage), I was still able to stop and heal myself and casually stroll to the exit gates without running into the killer at all.

Hardly new. DH has been a source of contention for many for a long time.
Maybe, but now that DS has been nerfed there's 8738737 topics about DH popping up.

@Raptorrotas said:
... So you tell me that by playing with my friends i get an automatic notification that a totem was cleansed?
Im sincerely amazed how many people get the actual cwf advantage wrong.
HUD, UI, aura reading is spontaneous, automatic spoonfed info you dont have to activatre a braincell for.
Comms let you inquire others about info which they might not even have. Each survivor still needs to actually think about intending to inquire about info and relaying said info.
Yet everyones talking about all that free info. Swf doesnt have free info, they can talk about stuff they need to find out first.
Is your argument seriously that SWF doesn't have an advantage because SWF still has to go through the effort of opening their mouths and relaying information? Because that's like, the worst argument I have ever read.
-
Is this the new thing to complain about all the time now that DS has been nerfed?
-
Yeah, basically. People who think that killers have to look gross & dead are lacking imagination.
When I first saw the preview for the new killer I thought it was goddamn genius, and I'm not a k-pop person by any means.
-
I'd like to play KYF sometime. I've been trying to learn how to hit great skill checks again. It's hard in actual games, though.
Discord: thegoddamnhero#8692
Add me & message me and I'll send you a steam request.
-
You have 1k hours in the game, of course it's not scary & is just routine to you. New players are still very scared by it, though.
-
Why is this a question???? We know the answer????
-
It's because you don't get a lot of points for gens. You get points for engagement with the killer & hook rescues.

I've lived in a war torn country that had lots of violence(beheadings, missile attacks, torture were all common) for 6 years. I've been abused multiple times throughout my life, sometimes as young as when I was 7. I understand how people can be triggered by different things, my point is that people who can get triggered need to do their due diligence when it comes to video games or entertainment.
Video game developers are not responsible if their violent video game traumatizes people when there are plenty of warnings of said violence.
Fair, it seemed like you were saying more that it's a blanket "people with trauma shouldn't play."
-
@Huge_Bush said:

Cannibalism is real, so yes, there are people that have been eaten alive. Doesn't matter if it is real or not, if someone has been traumatized by violence, they shouldn't be seeking violence in video games.
You're wrong and you have no idea what you're talking about when it comes to PTSD triggers. If someone was sexually assaulted that has nothing to do with cannibalism being real. There's very few people who have triggers related to cannibalism, impalement, etc, and quite a lot of people who have PTSD caused by sexual assault or childhood sexual assault.
Even just PTSD caused by general violence likely won't be impacted by cartoon violence, because real world violence is very different. People impacted by real world violence are more likely to be triggered by things like guns.

Yeah, I get that a lot too. It's hard to blame them since they're still learning how to play and haven't really learned that it's nice to give everyone a chance to play yet. Same with low rank survivors hiding the entire match because they're too scared to unhook their teammates.
Hahah, right? In one match I watched someone sit at the top of the coal tower hiding in a corner for the entire match. I was seriously confused, like... ######### are you trying to accomplish.
Another match I swapped places with a Meg on a hook in ECG & she was freed and ran off, the killer chased her and was on the other side of the map--a Yui was doing a totem at my feet, literally at my feet, while I was on hook (first hook). When she was finished she walked away and ran out and left the match & left me on hook. A Feng had to leave the exit gates on the other side of the map and run all the way over to unhook me.
-
I was wondering if it was just me that was struggling with sounds lately. Guess not! I thought it was because I changed my headphones.
-
I've seen a lot of camping/tunneling in the past couple of days. Tunneling, especially, has been pretty off the rails. But, I also think that's partially because I haven't played for about 6 months so I went from rank 2 to rank 17 and low rank killers are pretty campy/tunnely.
-
God, yes. He just does WAY too much. At the moment it feels like there's no reason to play other killers, because he can just do everything.
-
Dbd has been around for 5 years. Most of the hardcore playerbase plays at a very high level now. if it wasn't balanced around the main playerbase, it would lose that playerbase. & it's the hardcore playerbase that has kept the game alive for this long.
-
I played a match where I had to use Any Means Necessary near a killer for the archive challenge and I was a little annoyed that I couldn't do it, but then at the end the killer was a Ghostface and just teabagged goodbye at us--so I ran to a pallet and used it while he witnessed me and helped me complete a difficult challenge!
Then today I had an archive challenge to cleanse 15 totems. I found a map in a basement and I've been using it for 4 matches now. I felt kind of useless to the team until I played against a Trapper on Lerys and spent the whole match breaking every totem. Turned out that he had NOED at the end and it never even got to proc, so everyone could hook dive rescues at the end. We almost made it all out, but unfortunately I stepped in a trap and got downed--but a hero David swooped in and rescued me off the ground, then rescued me from a SECOND trap I stepped in about a foot away from the first one, and then when the killer trapped me in a corner and almost got a hit on me, David jumped in the way last second and took the hit. He died for me & I escaped with like 10 seconds left on the ECG timer. & I BROUGHT MY MAP WITH ME FOR ANOTHER RUN.
RIP David, not all heroes wear capes. Some of them wear shiny circus pants and no shirts.

I agree it was too powerful, I just wish they made it still decent and useable.
I don't think it's unusable, but I come from an FPS background so I have a pretty high accuracy rate with my hatchets.

Oh, come on. You can't say that iri head in its current state is okay. Pairing it with infantry belt has always been an exploit.

They seem pretty reasonable. Freddy badly needed some changes, & I'm glad to see that they're addressing an accessibility issue, but they still have some they need to address--like the wiggle meter and the strobe effect caused by flashlight spam & the police lights on Haddonfield.
