The problem is not only the hook. Once the gates are open, the survivors block the killer, so het can´t down the injured survivor. Since they get a speed burst, they can easily take rounds at protecting the injured. There´s not really much the killer can do.
Yeah, damn those people working as a team in a 4 vs 1 game.

I actually use Dwight the most, and Meg the second most. Nea is my third most used, but she was my FIRST most used, so I guess I tend to use her for reddit/forum flair etc. when I have to make a choice. Plus I like her outfits the most.

You can also use things like:
https://www.sessions.edu/color-calculator/
Color wheel pickers, where you roll around a color wheel and it pops out a hex code for you to copy and paste. Adjust your tint and shade on the bar on the side.
You can also preview your text color, using the preview button next to save draft, if you're not sure how well the color you picked will fit with the background of the forum.

No, it really isn't.

Sooo, my actual career is that I do bug testing in a (web, not gaming) development team, and people using ultra rare items is not really a bad thing? They're giving the beta a nice run for its money. It would suck to run a mori on the final build and see that it's broken, because no one wanted to try it in the PTB.
Same with people who are out there playing whatever killers & running all kinds of meta perks. Stressing the system is good, you should be doing whacky things you can't do in live build games.
Though with that being said, the disappointing thing on the PTB that made me stop playing survivor (and therefore, at all, because killer makes me motion sick), was that there were too few dicking around/exploratory matches. I loaded up the PTB on the first day and killers were actually killing people immediately, and I was like... #########. It's day 1, what are you doing? Everyone should be taking some time to run around and break the game so that we can report bugs & exploitable problems to the devs.

It is not against the rules to have an unpopular opinion, which is why we took the feature away.
Thank you for the official response!
I think the main issue with downvotes is that it hid posts, which I didn't actually realize until someone mentioned it in this thread. It's a bit of an odd system, actually. I've only seen that on Reddit.

If I continue playing the game after all of the content is released (which is a big IF, it depends on how some other things go), then I'm definitely all about paying money. I'll probably pay money for the DLC & money for the cosmetics that I'm really interested in, then shards for whatever ridiculous things I'll probably use once in a stupid meme game. But I also paid for all the DLC & cosmetics packs before the store was created, too.
As someone who does art & 3D modeling as a hobby, I just really like to support artists & developers.

I'm not sure what you're on about, it's definitely a horror game & I play a crap ton of horror games. Just because we've become desensitized by it, doesn't mean that it isn't horror.

Nah, save it. I'm right.I'm glad I hit a nerve man. People were clearly downvoting for no reason. Like myself and others would bring up things in a polite and nice way... things that were objective or interesting...
It wouldn't even be a personalized message... and we'd all get downvoted. Why?
Because that person didn't like what was said? That wasn't the point of downvoting. It was to disagree with something.
But not all posts are disagreeable are they? Yet they were still downvoted.
Reinsert .50 and please try again.

Hahaha, this is so stupid. Like, you're going to camp someone because they chose a color? I get that Claudettes tend to be immersive & blend in better, but goddamn. Just because someone picks a black shirt, doesn't mean you have to be petty.
I always pick dark colors with my characters, and I always pick dark colors when I'm dressing myself in person, too. It can just be personal preference.
Sometimes the world really isn't out to get you.

Real question, what's your post to upvote ratio??

@Tsulan said:
Ideally no one.
People should really play both sides regularly and not only stick to one side.Idk, I play mostly survivor because I like the game, but playing killer gives me really bad motion sickness. It's like something about the FOV and how the environment whips past. It's almost literally unplayable for me for longer than a few minutes at a time.
But I also get motion sickness in cars, so it's probably a 'me' problem. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Fresh unpopular opinionThe forum is better off without the down vote button
The fact that they took it away cracks me up super hard.
Anyway, back on topic:
My unpopular opinion is that: flashlighters, loopers, bodyblockers, etc. are not actually against the spirit of the game. Actually, they make a lot of sense, as they're all fairly heroic/brave actions at their root. Flashlighters are trying to save their teammates, loopers are trying to keep the killer distracted, bodyblockers are literally taking hits to try to save someone--it all makes sense within the game's basic premise.

Alright I gotcha man. Just damn this game, as a killer, pushes you to your limits and I appreciate that you're understanding enough to know when someone is pushed over the edge. You're a good person too and that's cool of ya. Thanks man.Tbh, you just really have to keep that in mind. I'm not entirely innocent myself. Sometimes if I play too long, I also fall into the "them vs us" mindset trap & forums and stuff actually make it worse, because you see inflammatory posts from people who have the same issue, so it just compounds the problem for everyone involved.
But no one involved on either side is scum. We might disagree on things. I hate the hatch, you like it, I think some killer perks are OP, you think some survivor perks are OP, and so on and so forth, but no one is scum. Not even those flashlight wielding P3 Claudettes. They're probably just 15 or something.
& as a sidenote, when it comes to downvoting: it generally isn't because people don't have anything to say back. It's because people want to express an opinion, "I don't like your opinion/I disagree" but it isn't worth an argument, or they don't want to go around quoting every single person they disagree with. It's a fast way to go, 'well, I don't like that', and move on.
I know I personally don't have the time to disagree with everyone that posts an opinion I disagree with. Like, I'm a web developer; I only have a few hours of free time a day, and I don't want to use all of them arguing with every opinion I don't agree with, but I will click 'downvote', and people are free to do the same on my posts if they disagree! It doesn't hurt anything.

Yeah I do read my own posts and I know the truth hurts but someone has to say it. I mean you seem to wonder why you have so many survs that run DS with a purple flashlight and tbag to try to pester the killer. You also see mot of the surv population having to run in circles around a pallet which ruins how the game was supposed to be played according to the devs since they said pallets were just for distancing yourself from the killer; not to play Nascar with. Sorry if you diagree with I say, but what I say is true. Hell, you have a good chunk of survs that want the game to stay as imbalanced as it is because it seems they want to say they're good at the game when it' actually the game itself carrying them. Survs are scum except for maybe like 5% that actually want the game fairly balanced and made. While the other 95% are complaining about the small pallet change and the small hatch change and are seeming to think they are ruining the game when the fact is it's just ruining their scum tactics. This game is supposed to be a horror game for the survivors, not a bully simulator. And another reason why I say survs are scum is that a you scroll down this post, you see people that actually present logical and good ideas and actual points upon their posts and yet, they're downvoted by people like you just because they disagree and don't even provide why they downvoted. You survs are scum. Yall can downvote all you like, but people will still read and see what yall try so desperately to hide. Yall even downvoted Peanits who's a mod just because he stated that survs don't deserve a free win with the hatch. Yall are pathetic.
Okay, so now people who use the downvote feature to disagree with something are scum. Sure, whatever. They can be scum along with everyone else who use perks & features that you don't personally like in a game.
Also in what world are mods free from being downvoted? Downvotes aren't a downvote against the person, they're a downvote against an opinion or a post. Peanits was expressing an opinion in their post, and their opinion is open to disagreement just as much as anyone else's. Being a mod doesn't make their opinion God-like. They're just a person with thoughts on the subject that we're discussing, too?

Survivors are the scum of this game. Entitled, greedy, selfish, and nothing but wannabe bullies since real life hasn't been to nice to them and they watched a few Ochiduh videos. Survivors are scum.Christ, do you read your own posts before you press submit or do you just spit out this massive ball of misplaced rage and call it a post? You seriously need to take a massive step back.
I hate this hatch situation a lot & I think it's 100% unfair and not at all balanced, but I'm not going to demonize people who play killers.

I like the swamp maps! If you're a survivor, just wear green or dark colors.
No advice for killers though. That's probably rough.

NO, they’d lose to many players and profitsIf someone is willing to quit the game forever simply because they cant make 3 and 4 man lobbies then they were not a player worth keeping and did not care about this game in the first place. I imagine the bulk of SWF is duo's. They are what matter. Not the people that play with a group of friends just to bully the killer.
No, you're right. They don't care about the game.
Because it's a game that they clearly bought to enjoy with two or three of their friends. Most people play the game to have it be a social experience. They care about having fun.
Now this might be hard for you to hear, but: that's why games exist.

I personally find the hatch changes fair. Sure, faster generator progression would be nice, and all.Just for the love of The Entity, dont go back to the old hatch standoffs. They are not tests of patience, its just luck during a boring staring contest. If they were not to implement the hatch closing option (which I strongly disagree with), then the least they should do is change it so killers can instantly grab a survivor (not exposed effect, I mean grabbing directly) if they are within range of an open hatch. Survivors only need one click to get away. The killer needs 3 with a reasonable time between them, or an extremely well timed and positioned one.
Hatch standoffs don't even make sense tbh. Like, as a survivor, I've never been in a hatch standoff. I will literally run past the killer and try to slip past them and escape if they're in my way. If they hit/grab me, then they do, whatever, not the end of the world. I do the same thing when people block the basement stairs & try to take the game hostage.
As a killer, I just run at the person when I see them & if they escape, they escape. If they don't, they don't. ######### is the point of standing there, staring at each other?

there is an acheivement for doing a gen while being the last alive..one must simply Git gud.
Yes. I have that achievement. But you're forgetting that when you're doing gens on your own in the current live build, the only reason why you don't immediately die is because the killer can't predict your movements as well.
More than 3 generators left? Then you have a ton of generators to choose from & a lot for the killer to patrol.
3 or less? Killer is distracted by thinking you're looking for the trap door. Now, with the trap door closed, they'll just patrol whatever small amount of generators is left.@CallMeRusty420 said:
Relax okay? I want the game to balanced and right now, the game is so favor of survivors it's pathetic. But I do want some changes to make the end game with the last surv better. Like make it so the last gens aren't highlighted to the killer. But I don't want this change until the devs fix up the balance because right now a single chase shouldn't equal 3 gens done. Especially since survs have 3 chances before they die which adds up to 12 in total with the rest of the survs. So the survs have only 5 objectives that are easy and quick to compelte while the killer has 12 with the survs with each objective varying on how long and how much the surv loops him AND an extra 5 objectives with defending the gens. It's ludicrousWhy are you chasing anyone for three gens?
-
@Peanits said:
Being the last survivor isn't necessarily a feat, though. If things are going poorly and I hide in a corner, I'll be the last one alive, but it doesn't mean that I should be on a level playing field with the killer. The difference is that the killer has to earn it. They don't just end up killing the other three survivors by chance. At that point, they've done tremendously well and to put them on a level field with someone who just happened to be the last to die seems unfair to me.Yeah, I don't know about that. Most of the time when I'm the only survivor left, it's because I did gens by myself while the rest of my team hook dived and got downed by the killer after 5 second chases.
That's not skill or doing "tremendously well," on the killers part. & it's bullshit that a survivor that did well has a .00002% chance of surviving, because they were teamed up with a bunch of blind babies that run directly into the killer or unhook each other directly in front of the killer.

Actually it really is. Especially when you have 3 chances to get the hatch still.
1. Make it to the hatch before the killer finds it.
2. Repair a gen and reopen it
3. Bring/find a key to open it.- The killer doesn't have to play stealthy, or slowly walk or crouch everywhere while searching for the hatch, so the chances of that are low.
- Repairing a generator on your own, when the killer knows that you're looking to repair a generator, is almost impossible. The killer is just going to patrol whatever generators are left, forever, and kick whatever you start on in a endless cycle.
- Oh, okay. We'll all just bring/find rare items. Totally reasonable. So balanced.
-
I actually wouldn't mind this.
The problem with needing a generator to open the hatch, is that as a lone survivor, sitting next to one of the only leftover generators is how you get immediately found; especially in a situation where the killer knows that you're looking to work on generators. So, something that's more randomized/unpredictable for both the killer and the survivor is step in a better direction.

The hatch change is balanced. It makes it so a survivor doesn't have a free win when hatch is open(as the killers only defense would be to let them escape or try to find them quickly) I wouldn't mind generators automatically progressing faster when it's open thoughYeah, now killers have a free 4k, instead.
~balance~
-
The new hatch system is ridiculous & way too balanced in the killer's favor. It's pretty much a guaranteed 4k. & zero hope of survival on the survivor's side even if you have the drive to walk around completing gens bit by bit for the next hour.
Killers are already faster, stronger, and can track you by your footsteps, your breath, by crows, and sometimes just by existing, so how is it fair that they can close the hatch?
