  • #1 Hag for reasons everyone else listed

#2 Pig -- because every Pig I run into loves to tunnel people off the hook and on boxes even though they're using MYC and could one-down a different survivor.

#3 Wraith -- because 99% of Wraiths cloak and stand next to you on the hook and it's the most eyerolly thing in the world.

  • It could just be that they're fun to play as? Not against, but as. I've mained Legion since they came out--they were the first killer I played (I had played only survivor before the Legion release) and they made the role seem pretty fun. Now I play mostly Huntress or Nurse/Blight, but I pop onto them sometimes when I just want to run around.

I think Devs can’t really answer this, because they can’t guarantee what EAC detects or will detect with future updates..

some people are changing the key for struggling to the mouse-wheel, maybe that’s an option for you? But I guess that wouldn’t work for wiggling - but here you actually don’t have to be as fast with the button mashing and it doesn’t matter that much if you stop for split seconds...

Interesting, it's the wiggling mostly, I already bound struggle to my mouse-wheel so it's just the wiggling that's an issue for me now. It makes my hands/wrist hurt SO much.

  • Most people don't know that he's bugged, I know I didn't know about it.

You know what this is like? The tinkerer bug where the hillbilly would permanantly stop having a terror radius after tinkerer proc'd for the first time in a match. People abused the hell out of that & no one did anything.

  • The dbd community is pretty toxic. It's infinitely worse than any of the other gaming communities that I'm a part of, unfortunately.

Ahhh, Junkrat. I have around 200 hours on him alone. Next is Lucio. I have way too many hours over there. In the four digits worth. 🤣

Lately, been playing mostly Dva, Zen, Brigiette, Ash, and Reaper in OW. Over in Paladins: Drogoz, Pip, and Raum. Still trying to see which gauntlet combos fit me best in Spellbreak. Right now I am leaning Fire/Toxic or Toxic/Wind.

I'm on a break from DbD because the "cannot hook" bug was a final straw for me. I'll give them six months or so to maybe get their game healthy, and if they do will be happy to return. Playing Bug Russian Roulette every time they patch has worn me down.

Ashe is bae. I reached plat last season & had to take a break from OW because it was taking over my life when I decided to start going for diamond & so I came back to OW.

Then I ran into like 4 moris yesterday and I'm back to wanting to go back to OW.

I really wish before people made posts like this that they'd at least play killer for like a whole week. Everything survivors complain about they'll end up doing when they play killer. This is inevitable and the worst part is you wont even realize it. Also everyone has a different experience do not judge certain roles or even the game as a whole on yours alone.

Actually, the more you play killer the more frustrating scummy tactics usually are to see in matches when you're a survivor. Seeing someone that's playing badly (and you'll know they're playing badly because you have experience in the role) get rewarded for poor plays that shouldn't work is crazy tilting.

I'm honestly a killer main and I don't camp, I try not to tunnel, and if the gens are powered and I haven't killed anyone I accept it as a loss and move on, so having to play against people who play like crap and get rewarded by crutch perks like NOED or get rewarded by standing under a hook is like... Wow, this game is absolute trash.

Killers are really jus complaining about SWF matches whenever you hear someone saying, “Survivor Sided!” When we make that differentiation, acknowledging that the game isn’t at all “Solo sided,” then real discussions regarding change can be brought to the table and a solution will be discovered.

The devs should kno this, and I’m sure that they do... after all, they didn’t only create this game, they also play it every day, jus like us.

SWF has caused killers to complain frequently, as well as it has caused them to alter their play style to try an combat a team perked with coms who are ALL on the same page at all times throughout the match.

If this means, tunneling, camping, slugging, ebony’s, iri’s, OP builds & addons, etc., then that’s what they’re willing to do.

They feel threatened and bullied by SWFs jus like all of we who choose to main Solo, at times, feel bullied by killers who have their anti-SWF build/ mindset on as they go into the trial prepared for a squad of relentless com’d up dominance.

Solo has gotten less fun as devs have nerfed perks that helped a team of randoms out of tough matches.

I wish killers (especially mains) would realize, jus like I and many others have, that Solo survivors also got heavily setback from the inclusion of SWF into DBD.

Devs have to find a way to benefit an balance the game for all 3 parties... SWF, Solo & Killer.

I trust that they’ll do jus that, eventually.

I really do have faith in them.

Unfortunately I've been playing the game for like 4 years, so I don't really have a lot of faith. There's a reason why I take a lot of long breaks from the game, because things like this are extremeeeely exhausting.

Jack's face was on the conspiracy wall before the reveal. There's clearly a photo of him.

And yeah Infinite fell on its face with the horror. It had cut content like people spliced between realities and the Boys of Silence actually following noise instead of being glorified security cameras which was a big #########.

Oh yeah? I played the game a few times but tbh I get bored of documents & etc so I miss a lot of that stuff. Plus I didn't love 1&2, I've always been really into Infinite.

  • The second is okay. I got frustrated with the drill needing oil.

  • The top is cute, but I wish they would have given her a matching skirt with it.

I'm not OP but I'm rank 3 for both roles and I just got the game July 1st (Steam sale). This game is "easy", but that being said, the "solo queue survivor" ranges from absolute garbage to great once in a while.

But ever since crossplay was enabled, I've noticed console killers will expedite kills ASAP. Many of them camp, and many of them mori spam on down 2 (one hook). It's dumb and I used to love this game back in the low ranks but then when I unlocked all the meta perks for both sides and got really good, I realized this game is extremely "meh" at high level play. But I still play it.

But the crossplay tunnel+camp+mori makes the game demoralizing. I don't want to log on and I am almost done my rift/battle pass, but I'm contemplating permanently uninstalling. I got my 300 hours worth, maybe it's just time to move on.

Rank 4, this is my same experience. 99% of games are like this:

    • Killer has an iridescent and purple add-on combo
    • Sometimes they have an ebony mori as well, I ran into 4 ebony moris today.
    • Killer camps hook
    • If you do get off the hook they ignore your team trying to bodyblock and throw you back on and then they go back to camping--unless they have a mori then they'll mori you and you get to leave with like 4k points.
    • When there's two survivors left they slug one and look for the other because they HAVE TO HAVE THAT 4K. Who cares if they leave someone slugged for 4 minutes? They have to have that 4k!!!!!
    • At the end you see they had NOED.

I had a match today against a huntress who had an irri-head, an infantry belt, and an ebony mori. Two players disconnected at the start of the match, and even though bloody party streamers were in the game she wouldn't have any kind of fun with me & the remaining survivor. She slugged and hooked us both, and then I kobed off the hook and rescued myself/my teammate and she killed my teammate and took me off a door that was 90% open. Fun. Tell me again how hard killers have it?

Ah that is true the Big Daddies are sort of the most Iconic parts of the game. That and Fort Frolic (at least that's what people remember fondly of the game with Sander and the Little Quests you have to do).

But yeah I do understand that infinite doesn't have any iconic characters they probably might be for others but it may not live up to the expectations of the first game.

And that last bit is understandable too since DBD sort of has a tendency of having characters who did all these badass things and prevailed through thick and thin and sort of levels it down to "Ayyy gotta run and hide from the killer 👉👉"

For me that'd probably make me disappointed due to that fact, but at the same time I'd be excited since I'm playing with a cast I haven't seen for 8 years

Infinite has iconic protagonists, while the other games do not. The other games have iconic antagonists, but yeah it's basically that 'I don't want someone reduced to a run & hide character.'

  • @JimPickens666 said:

You must not know like any of the Alien or Predator games or have a REALLLY low opinion of DBD lol. Hope the new predator game is as good as the recent Alien one tho, but also probably a sign that Predator isn't coming to DBD anytime soon which is fine because i don't think they really hit. I mean look how bad he whopped Leatherfaces ass, survivors won't have a chance

Bioshock 1 & 2 are horror games, but the third one isn't, really. The third one is an FPS game. Also I'm a huge Booker DeWitt fangirl and so if he was a survivor I'd have to pretend I've never heard of DBD so I don't have to look at it. I know Elizabeth is more iconic but I wouldn't want to see her butchered either.

Then in the first game, Jack the protag. doesn't have a face, he's just a first person set of hands, and the second one you PLAY a Big Daddy, so.

  • Bioshock is one of my favorite games and has been for years--since it came out.

I don't want Dead by Daylight anywhere near it.

Also Infinite doesn't have an iconic killer and is mostly a FPS. Literally the big bad is the alternate version of Booker himself, so....

I hope never. As console, we didn't get a ptb so now is our chance to test out the new killer. All I've gotten is Deathslingers, spirits with stridor and huntresses with iri head and Mori. Ofc I'm disconnecting.

That's pretty rude to your teammates--which is why there's a disconnect penalty & you deserve it.

  • No. It's boring, I'd rather run off and kick people off gens.

  • I would die laughing if they ever used Slenderman--I'm an old person and I very clearly remember the SomethingAwful forums thread where he was invented. I cannot get over the fact that people take it seriously as a scary story now.

Rank 1 my guy but rank 1 killer is hardly a flex at this point. I think you have completely ignored everything I have said or you just arent a good killer. Pressure of someone being on a hook is a vital part of this game, the difference of 3 people being on a gen and 1 person on a gen. I bet with this attitude you get gen rushed a lot. You cant "for the most part i worry about gens" because then you miss out on everything else. The whole point of map pressure is to get people off gens so if all you are doing is pushing people off gens instead of securing people off gens the people are just going to get right back on the gen. You need to give the survivors incentive to not do the objective to stop them. Simply chasing them a bit will not suffice, they need the altruism as an incentive. Chasing them away will only result in them either going down, and with your attitude they will just get off the hook straight away, or getting away and finding a new gen, and in the time you were chasing them someone else popped the gen you were protecting. I struggle to understand how someone who doesnt understand this basic part of the game gets to rank 1.

Lol, I'm a perfectly fine killer. Maybe the reason why I reached rank 1 is because I get 3 full hooks on everyone???

  • Lol, you guys are too reliant on add-ons. I never use them & I 4k all the time on Huntress. Only add-on you need is good aim.

  • Your chances of surviving is higher at 4 people, so even if I don't like someone, I always rescue off hook unless they're being camped (and it's not end of game) then RIP and thank you for your sacrifice.

  • The only thing this thread has done has made me rush and go look at the new skins & now I badly want the Kate & Felix skins.

  • Damn those survivors doing objectives and being able to run in a circle.

  • Yeah his posts are getting increasingly bait-y. Like 'AND ADD A SECOND KILLER!'

  • Watching OhTofu is why I decided to buy Blight/try him out--his videos actually had some pretty good suggestions on how to use his power.

  • I can't tell if this thread falls under bait or satire.

  • I've been having instant queues for both survivor & killer (red ranks). Idk what's up on your end.

I do play Survivor; just did a grind for a million BP so I could take Blight to forty and unlock his Perks for my Mikey in fact. Again, you are missing the point I'm making. When the Face Camper's first victim sac's out he will finally start looking for another one. By that time they will have a lot of Generators up, probably some Totems cleansed, and there will be some chases. The Killer probably will down another one and repeat the same behavior. Early games are practice game to learn Skills, ALL of the different Skills. Skill Checks are mastered within three games. Chases, vaults, looping, and so on takes a LOT more work and is very important. I'm just not sure why you would advise people NOT to try and get practice in against what is clearly a BAD Killer.

Do you even know what you're arguing? Lol, because you have like, changed your argument in every reply.

  • @Moundshroud said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1611060#Comment_1611060

Yeah, I do. But we aren't talking about a normal camper here. We are talking about a FACE camper who is going to sit there until that person sacs out. And new Players do need to practice looping Skills. Practicing how to make Skill Checks for Generators only goes so far. You know that and I know that. They might as well practice against some bad Killer and get some time in. I'm not saying they should suicide. I'm saying new Players need to hone some other Skills. If they want to get out as fast as possible, doing nothing but Generators against a Face Camper will do that. They will get NOTHING else out of it.

You obviously don't play survivor at all, because everything you're saying makes no sense against a face camper.

No one is going to learn/practice looping skills against a face camper because face campers don't interact with anyone. They catch one person and they sit in one spot and they down the person again when you take them off hook. There's nothing else you can do about it. The literal only thing you can do is do gens and move on and hope for a less ######### killer in your next match.

  • How? I've played like 3 games with him

First game was a mess, sure, but my second game was a 3k with me letting the 4th guy out by carrying him to open the gate, and the third game I had everyone on their last hooks & one guy dead. It's not that hard of a power to understand--he has insane mobility. Don't try to use it in jungle gyms though.

  • @Moundshroud said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1610967#Comment_1610967

No but spotting and cleansing Totems is easy Blood Points, a separate emblem. It is a good habit to pick up, particularly if you have a camping idiot who gives you free time. It is like leaving money on the table. That and they will NEED to have a habit of doing Bones as soon as they leave the potato ranks. To me it is a good habit to practice.

... No, because if you wander around doing totems instead of gens when someone is being camped, then the camper is just going to find someone else to camp because you handed him a bunch of free time instead of gen rushing. Do you not play survivor at all? Lol.

  • @Moundshroud said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1610171#Comment_1610171

True but you are Red Rank, as you say. You don't have anymore skills to hone. The new people do.

Skills have nothing to do with it, unless you're running specific perks, you can't do anything about early/mid game face camping & it's boring as hell.

  • @Moundshroud said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1610114#Comment_1610114

It depends, i.e. is Gen-Rushing your only goal? Face campers aren't giving up very many points. Just Gens and getting out the door doesn't earn you much in the way of emblems. Do you see my point? If all you care about is rushing out the door, sure, go for it. I don't think this is a good long term strategy because the META is bigger than what new Survivors face. It also depends on Rank, do you care about it? You need a variety of achievements each game to earn more different types of emblems. Totems earn a different type of Emblem than Generators. They are easy and quick. Long term, it is a good habit to get into. But you can take my advice or ignore it. I won't be offended. I've been where new Survivors are at so my suggestions are based on where I am now.

I'm a red rank survivor--if someone is face camping I want to just get out of the match because it's boring and there's nothing to be done about it & I don't want to feed a face camper with more points.

  • @CountVampyr said:

After three matches as The Blight, I finally successfully landed a Lethal Strike. Color me underwhelmed. I figured they would go down, but they still escaped. For the difficulty of the set up you’d think that downing capability would at least be in the same league as Billy or The Oni.

It's not that difficult though. After my first match I started getting lethal rush hits pretty much constantly--maybe it's because I play a lot of nurse so I'm pretty familiar with the style of chase? Either way I strongly disagree that it should be a one-down.

  • @Moundshroud said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1609813#Comment_1609813

Again, this logic doesn't track. Why would a camper be MORE likely to get extra kills out of Noed? :) If a person is a camper you have ALL THE TIME IN THE WORLD to cleanse those Totems. Remember, Noed only triggers at the end of the game, once all the generators are up. The Killer gains insta-down, sure, but you know it might happen. The Killer has no idea what Gate you are going to run to, and if they camped the entire Team is there to make saves and take actions.

People gripe about Noed for no good reason. You do know there are Killers that start and play the whole match with Insta-Down right? It isn't that big a deal. Noed is not the Killer's friend. It takes up a Perk slot, it may never activate if the bones are done or the gates never open, and just because you get insta-down doesn't mean you will catch anyone.

Camping and Noed are TWO DIFFERENT subjects and do not relate to one another at all. Please quit trying to imply that they do. If anything, a camping Killer gives you LESS excuse to whine about Totems because you had more time to deal with them.

No you don't. You have 120 seconds until the guy on the hook dies and the killer finds someone new to stand in front of. You have to use the time the person is being camped to do gens and leave, not run around the map looking for totems.

  • @APoipleTurtle said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1606467#Comment_1606467

By that logic, we should just make the effects of all perks SWF get for free into base-game features.

Should solo survivors get free locations on where their teammates are, where the killer is, where gens are, where Hexes are, and where gates are at all times? What makes a totem counter different from other SWF "freebies"?

Solo survivors don't get Bond or OoO or Detective's Hunch for free without a corresponding perk/item, why should a totem counter not cost a perk slot?

Your logic is actually braindead. "Why should solo survivors get to have the same benefits as SWF!! They should should have to play a perk to do it!" Playing solo survivor is already infinitely weaker and more difficult than SWF and the solo survivor/SWF gap is why killers are kept as weak as they are--why would you advocate keeping solo survivor weak?

  • He's pretty fun, I kind of enjoy him. I didn't like him at first but then I played a few more matched and I actually really liked it.

I'm not sure how I feel about playing against him though because I only ran into two Blights in my whole day of playing survivor yesterday.

  • Oh you know, I didn't realize this before but you're totally right--I ran into this issue earlier too.

  • @Mikeasaurus said:

I don't get it personally. Blight clearly stands pretty much the same height as a survivor, but seems to be staring at their arses. I mean, I Get he's slightly hunched, but he's not exactly crawling on the floor hunched. It just makes getting around so clunky when you're seeing more of the floor than a slugged survivor.

He's not slightly hunched, he's basically the Hunchback of Crotus Penn. His head is super low.

No offence but it just seems that at times killer complaints are a little petty and you can't flip the argument around because the survivor meta is fully based around the killer meta and killer strategies.

    This is true though.

Everyone complains about second chance perks but they forget that:

DS exists because killers like to go for people fresh off the hook & single out a target to not let play the game

    BT exists because of camping

Unbreakable exists because killers like to slug (especially for 4k)

Soul guard exists because a combination of all the problems.

  • Playing more killer will make survivor a lot easier, it was the main reason why I started playing killer--then I realized I had an easier time playing killer than survivor and it was all over. Killer main checking in.

  • Yes, they listen to feedback more some gaming companies that I've seen--but the thing we forget is that not all of our community suggestions are actually good suggestions.

Though boy did they take a long time to fix the murder mountain.

  • I play both sides and yeah--DS is actually really needed. I don't use it, but I constantly see matches where people get the ######### tunneled out of them. I've had matches where I've actually blocked doorways/paths because the killer was chasing someone fresh off hook and refused to hit me because they didn't want to go into cooldown on their hit and so they just got stuck on me until they had to give in & do it.

The hypocrisy here is palpable. When Survivors did do bones, Killers complained and wanted the bones to be hid better, and after the change they now boast to survivors they should do bones when they're a lot harder to find, especially in solo.

So this would be a nice QOL change for solo survivors, and besides, going by what killers say in response to perks like NOED being "Just do bones" well, with this change we'd be following their advice so they really can't complain about this.

Yeah, basically. & tbh having a totem counter benefits both survivors and killers, it seems silly not to have one.

Okay, but up the number of totems if you're going to make it easier to 'track' them, imo.

Sure, I don't care if there's more totems. I just want a way to know if you got rid of them all without having to play in a 4 stack.

  • @arcnkd said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/188965/we-need-a-totem-counter

Personally, if you are worried about totems - make it your focus and run the totem detection perk? I think a dedicated anti-totem perk is asking for too much; Survivors already have a ridiculous amount of counters as it is -- but I would be down if it was made into a separate perk altogether -- like, with this perk you get a totem counter and 50/75/100% bonus for cleansing totem bloodpoints. That way, it is another perk to force decision on whether it is worth it to run or not and leave behind another perk.

I don't want a perk, I want totems to have a count like the generators have in the HUD that says how many totems are left on the map. No detection or anything, just a number that counts totems on the map.

  • Kind of true. I was playing last night with Empathy/We'll Make it/Balanced Landing/Self Care and I had:

    • One team that watched me go into struggle phase while healing next to me on hook--and then they went and did a gen next to me while I was in struggle phase on the hook. Literally next to me. I could see them from where I was.
    • Another team that let me die on first hook even though the killer was across the map from me
    • A team where an Ace kept unsafe hooking everyone
    • A Leatherface that chased me around the map for multiple minutes every time I got unhooked--and no one did gens the entire time.

It made me really regret not playing deliverance/DS/unbreakable

1 … 5 6 7 8 9 … 16
