Keep making yourself sound like a god. Of course strafing is easy to predict when going for melee attacks.

Doing what you say I should be doing is how I became one of the better Pyramid Head players in this game, just saying. Victor is just terrible in every way unless you're going for point-blank shots in an open field.

    Hahahahahaha. Mad 'cuz baaaaad.

And let me guess, you're going for crazy yy fakie no scope head shots Scott Jund cross map pounce gamer chair montage shots and not point blank melee attacks in an open field?

    Fat chance.

Hahahaha, wow what a bizarre and bitter stretch because you don't want to admit that you're just bad. I already said what I do: I watch survivors movement patterns and predict their movements with pounce just like you would with any other projectile, like Huntress and her hatchets.

Have you never played an FPS before????

Survivors in DBD have even easier strafing patterns to predict than they would in a game like Overwatch, their pattern is literally W & ADADADAD. It's not rocket science.

  • Bruh, I haven't even played against the twins yet. But I've only missed my Victor pounces a handful of times & I've been playing them non-stop since they came out on Tuesday. His pounces are dead easy to hit, especially if you have experience with reading & predicting survivor movements. It sounds like you just suck at that.

I too love Survivors who can’t strafe a Killer standing a mile away.

    Mad because bad.

  • @dspaceman20 said:

Power struggle is too situational to be meta. I used it and it does nothing if the killer picks you up immediately. You also have to be under a pallet to use it effectively which can be hard if you don't see any. If you get picked up killers will just ignore going through pallets and even if you manage to activate it there is still a chance it won't work as its not a guaranteed stun.

This ^, I never walk under pallets when I carry survivors as it is. The wiggle meter is so long that you can usually walk around them.

Have you gone against Survivors who know what strafing and corners are yet?

Corners are annoying, strafing is pretty easy to counter you just watch their pattern and anticipate their direction, just like you do when playing Huntress or when playing an FPS.

I don't have a problem with the lighting as such, but I've definitely noticed an increase in the amount of dead zones where there's absolutely nothing to use as a survivor.

I haven't had problems with the lighting either--except with deep wounds. On ALL of the new maps, if I get deep wounds I can't see anything.

  • Tbh yeah, I've always found killer to be a more relaxing role than survivor. I've played in red ranks as killer and I rarely sweat--I also don't use meta perks or add-ons or moris. I usually just kind of play however I want to and see what happens and it's pretty whatever.

But it might just be less stressful for me than for other people who play killer because I don't care about rank and I don't really take it personally if I lose.

  • His pounce isn't really that hard to land though. Jumping over pallets and through windows is kind of a pain, but otherwise it's not--unless it's different on a controller?

  • @Emeal said:

Not gonna lie, If the Killer does not follow the usual rules, they are instantly more frightening.

Like a real murderer, You cant trust them. Camping and Tunneling makes Killers a wild card, unpredictable, and that is fear.

No it doesn't, lol. If you know someone is a camper or a tunneler then they're the opposite of a wild card--you literally know they're going to stay in one spot while you do gens or chase after the survivor you just unhooked instead of you.

  • Eh, the difference is that Deathgarden didn't already have an established playerbase and it failed to attract one.

  • Ahh, I never play Freddy so I didn't even realize that was a thing. It's even worse than I thought.

  • @rha said:

I am actually even more worried about the other point, the 4 man slugging potential. This has also been brought up a lot by Scorpionz, it is already horribly painful to watch, and probably even more painful and frustrating to be in such a game as survivor.

I see this playstyle a lot more than the remote face camp. I've just tuned in to a Twitch stream where the streamer was playing Twins, and it took about 90 seconds from when I started watching to witness yet another 4 man slug at 4 gens with Twins. I will from now on switch away from any stream where someone is playing Twins or against them, it's not fun at all.

As a 4 man SWF group you can probably prevent that to some extent by playing smart so that the killer doesn't get too much of an opportunity. If I'm playing solo and have no control over my teammates, there's nothing I can do if my three teammates don't play smart.

I really hope they fix these issues soon, I like the concept of the twins and would like to play them, I am mostly playing for fun so I don't need a super strong killer, but I don't want one I have to play "intentionally dumb" just because if I'd play "smart", I'd hate myself for it, and the other side would have a super boring game.

Yeah, this is true. A lot of the games I've played with the Twins have been a 3 or 4 man slug. People argue that the best way to handle the twins is to move as a group, but I disagree with that advice because the way I've gotten whole team slugs is because people do that. You just have to get in m1 damage (and a group of SWF people will take m1s for each other once one of them is damaged to spread out the aggression) and then you send out Victor who can just jump from person to person in a chain of slugging.

  • There's really people in this thread that are trying to say that Freddy isn't overtuned right now? Amazing. It's like they forget that Freddy:

    • Teleports
    • Sets dream snares
    • Distracts survivors from objectives (having to wake up)
    • Is invisible from a distance to awake survivors
    • Sets the oblivious status to sleeping survivors
    • Slows down player actions when they're asleep
    • Has dream pallets.

No other killer has that much random crap, most of it passive so they don't actually have to do anything.

  • If BBQ is bugged why aren't you just using a different perk in that slot?

  • Welcome to knowing that rank is meaningless! I'm a red rank survivor & I've been a red rank killer. It means nothing, I'm a trash survivor and I purposely let people go all the time as killer.

  • People literally sent death threats because Cyberpunk was delayed by 21 days, lol.

  • That's super close though. Yesterday I played a team of people who were 13 ranks higher than me. It wasn't really a problem because I used to be a red rank killer on PS4, but still, the matchmaking is bad.

  • @ethan99 said:

    @mintchapstick

Thanks, I definitely don't think I'd be able to handle multiple games at red rank 😅

I understand getting camped by the killer for the 1K, we've all been there! I don't find camping fun so I don't do it unless I see another survivor close by.

Yeah, red rank isn't fun for anyone. Both the killers and the survivors agree that red ranks are the worst to play at. The matches are boring & sweaty.

  • I've been enjoying them. I haven't had any issues with people taking Victor from me, but I also don't use him as a first hit either, so they don't get to keep him. What I've been doing is hitting people with Charlotte and damaging multiple people, then sending out Victor to slug them in a chain.

  • Yeah, there's far, far, far too much empty space on the autohaven maps. There's just like... no where to go.

  • @Stealth said:

Lol no you didn't. Last I checked, you don't need a perk to m1 into hatch.

At ranks higher than yellow/green, they need perks to survive to make it to the hatch. Don't purposely misconstrue people's statements.

I have been playing dbd since yesterday, i am a main survivor. I have not got one match with the twins at all yesterday and half of today....is no one playing the twins? I see everyone still playing all of the old killers, I hate when a new killer comes out and barely anyone plays with them. I want to go against the new killer and its crazy because its crossplay so i thought i would be more likely to get a match with them

Yeah I had the same experience as survivor, which is stupid because I've been having fun with them as killer.

  • I'm fine with it.

I like the new killer, I like the survivor. I trust that they'll eventually fix the bugs they released with, though I'm also a developer (web) so I kind of understand where they're coming from.

  • You're just feeling sensitive because you're frustrated that you can't punish people for mistakes and being a pain like you could with a killer you're good at. People aren't bullying you for playing a new killer, they'd be doing that either way.

I've been playing the new killer all morning & I've made mistakes and gotten frustrated at some points but it's whatever.

  • @MadLordJack said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1788031#Comment_1788031

I haven't played as the killer yet, but what I can say is that the Victors that hit me are the ones that go for animation locked hits lr close-range hits. For close range they back up and wait for me to lock myself into a juke like Billy or Huntress. I don't know if that helps, but another thing I've found is that the hitbox is kind of like Blight's lethal Rush - short, but wide.

And I totally agree with the punishment thing, I just stick to a teammate like glue and even if Victor downs one of us the other one punts him out of existence. Well played, have a foot. And I'm usually running WGLF for bloodpoints, so... fair and balanced gameplay.

Side question for anyone reading this, do you have the option to recall Victor when I kidnap him? I've done it twice today and both times Charlotte just ran around being m1 killer.

I just tried playing them for the first time and I didn't see an option to recall Victor.

Also, I didn't find the pounces that hard to land even with survivors out of animation lock. Played with one perk, no add-ons & didn't have a hard time.

  • Don't worry about ranking up--once you rank up the only thing you want to do is rank down.

As for me, when I play survivor and the killer does poorly, while I would love to actually play with them and get chased a while and even throw them some hooks, I generally don't trust a bad killer not to camp me on first hook in a desperate attempt to get a 1k.

  • You don't want that. You really, really, don't want that. Do you know why? Because imagine this: you get into a chase and by the time you've hooked someone, 3 generators pop. Because that's what happens when survivors don't work together on gens.

  • The new maps feel so empty. There's nothing to play around.

  • Because they don't need it. Some specific killers need buffs or full out reworks, but killers as a whole don't need "some huge buff."

  • @53nation said:

Ya but then if you don't like the killer, you might not purchase. This way, they get you to use money or resources to simply find out if you like the killer! And if you don't, oops oh well no refunds!

Most games don't let you refund DLC.

  • I absolutely hate killers that can teleport. I'm okay with nurse because she has a punishment for it and is slower than survivors.

  • @carnage4u said:

To the people that say ranks don't matter. I hover between red/purple ranks and play with friends in all rank ranges. We can always tell when it is a red rankjkiller in the game. Maybe 1 in 20 games we call the killer being red rank and they aren't. People with a lot more time will simply be better. Even fi they aren't "The best", red rank players often just have more play time, so play smoother, or try harder because they are red ranks and gotta be "serious business' or whaterver.

    It is very noticeable.

Ranks don't matter when it comes to survivors most of the time. You CAN tell a red rank survivor from a yellow rank survivor, but it's actually so easy to rank up to red ranks as a survivor that it's just like... ridiculous.

  • @Allhel1 said:

Buba, Clown, and Spirit need nerfs

I don't think Clown needs a nerf, but Spirit needs more counterplay for sure.

Freddy needs some of his random crap to be taken away. He has way too much STUFF.

  • True, though I watched streamers play as/with the new killer and it looks pretty fun on both sides.

  • @ALostPuppy said:

Deathslinger takes the cake I think. He is just a dumb killer that I have no idea how he even got through testing in his current state and into the game, same with pyramid head. Who approved of his design, seriously? And how did the Devs intend for us to play him? Maybe they wanted players to use him to hold angles and such which would explain some of the add-ons that increase movement speed or reduce terror radius while aiming down sights. But that's obviously not how he's played. It's just aim, tap M2 then tap M1 to shoot and wow! You got a hit that the survivor could do literally nothing about! How rewarded do you feel knowing that you can win every chase without caring in the slightest about what the survivors do to try and counter you?

This is actually kind of true. & Whats worse than 'aim and get a hit' is that it feels like he was made by devs that don't have any experience with FPS games & didn't expect people to know how to quickscope.

Killers I hate playing against though:

I hate playing against the Hillbilly because they ALWAYS have BBQ and chili (esp at the ranks I'm in) and will chainsaw across the map to get you, wherever you are. In red ranks everyone also uses chainsaw steering add-ons so there's no hope once he finds you unless you're a true juke God.

    Hag is boring

Freddy is overtuned as hell and has too much stuff

Doctor is just annoying because no one ever knows how to play against him.

  • Legion, but Huntress more and more lately.

  • Yeah, cheaters suck. I had this hillbilly recently that downed someone and then zoomed across the map and instantly found me in a locker--the locker I had gone into before BBQ & Chili could have been activated. There was no pause or thinking on where I could be, he just immediately zoomed to me and pulled me out of a locker. He had been doing things like that all game, but we assumed it was our faults, but he got pissed when I called him sus, so it really makes you wonder.

  • @JinSime said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/209364/whats-your-goal-in-dbd

I play to do silly things?

Yesterday and I played swf with 2 friends and all of us equipped urban evasion and started evading through the map. The random that was matched with us also had urban evasion, so we made a line of urban evasion and laughed my life out of it.

Also yesterday I played with Dwight and at the start of the game I got on a locker to be in character hahaha just to see seconds later my teammate doing the same thing. So I went to her locker to call her out and my other friend was there too not understanding what was going on. Then Pig was also around and everybody ran screaming. That made my night hahahahaha.

The other day I was running flip flop with tenacity and my goal was to get some value out of it. But somehow the killers slugged everyone but me? That wasn't really fun hahahaha but there were 2 matches when I finally got to use it, so it was nice.

As killer I like to sneak up on people as Pig.

That's the fun in the game to me. I understand sometimes I have to take it more seriously and do my objectives as best as I can as survivor, in honor to the randoms that are with me (in no way I want to sandbag someone), but I hate to play "sweaty" games, even because I don't run any build to support that kind of gameplay.

    This ^

I play to have fun with my friends. We do silly things like playing The Saboteurs where we all bring toolboxes and the perk saboteur and run around sabotaging hooks and being a general pain in the ass and not doing any objectives at all. Except totems. 'Cuz totems.

We had a match last night where all 4 of us started together directly next to the generator in the spooky lab on Hawkins lab, we finished the gen (pretty fast too, because I was running Prove Thyself and Leader and it was 4 people on a gen) and when the killer came we all just stood around and pointed at him on his way up the stairs. I do feel bad because it immediately killed his will to play and he gave up and just spun around in circles at us, but it was kind of funny anyway.

But I just play to have fun with my friends and to do dumb stuff. I've already been red rank on both killer and survivor, so I don't really care about ranking up or anything.

  • Agreed, there's no reason why there's both.

  • @ChainsawsChickenNBBQ said:

The large number of red ranks really just watch enough streaming games to memorize God-loops and blendy hiding spots while flexing maximum altruism and hatch hunting- otherwise they play like newbs- I have more fun playing with/ against rank 5-10 survivors

Same when it comes to killers tbh. My experience with red ranks killers has been that they all do the exact same thing--running BBQ & chili, sometimes with whispers, sometimes with nurses calling instead of whispers, they always play irri add-ons, its a 50/50% chance they're playing irri add-ons with a mori, and then they slug the last two survivors for the 4k. I'd rather play with rank 5 - 10 survivors, and against ranks 8 - 13 killers.

  • @FFirebrandd said:

Killer is not more fun without bloodlust. Bloodlust keeps the Survivors from holding W across literally the entire map without you able to do anything about it. That sort of behavior from Survivors is incredibly boring. Killers can counter that by bringing Killers/Perks with incredible mobility, range, or stealth, but I shouldn't feel like I have to bring Trail of Torment if I want to have an enjoyable game on Legion, or M&A + Badge on Deathslinger.

Killers are 115% of the movement speed of survivors--holding W only works so long without bloodlust as it is. Also if you're just following after the survivor instead of predicting their paths and cutting them off, you're doing it wrong.

  • You need to take a break tbh, once it stops being fun, it's time to play other games for a while. I take like 6 month long breaks all the time & it helps.

Alternatively, if you're old enough: get some friends & booze, it changes the experience.

  • Yeah, red ranks tbh doesn't mean anything. It means that they play a lot--but that's it. I've been rank 1 and I'm currently rank 3, nearly rank 2, and I can't run for #########, I make terrible decisions, I'm not good at hiding, I sometimes make brain-dead saves. I don't want to be red rank, but it's impossible to rank down because I at least safety pip every match.

  • @JoeyBob said:

I'm tired of console players ruining my games. When I play survivor many sandbag me by dropping pallets in my face as I'm being chased or hiding all game without doing gens.

It's not like they're low ranks either, this is purple and red ranks I'm seeing here. Sure, you'd get the bad PC player at these ranks now and then, but no where near the frequency I see bad console players. Controller is just plain inferior to mouse and keyboard in this type of game.

They even make survivor queue times longer since so few of them play killer (probably because most can't aim well with a controller).

IMO crossplay was a terrible idea.

EDIT got survivor and killer queue times mixed up. But yeah, going against console players as killer is an easy win.

Lmao ######### are you even talking about?

I'm like rank 2, I play on a gaming rig, I have a $100+ gaming keyboard and a $100+ wireless gaming mouse, and even a goddamn $50 mousepad so that I have a lot of space--and all of that is for FPS games because when I play survivor in DBD it's 10000% easier, more efficient and more comfortable to play with a controller. The only thing that's harder with a controller is flashlight saves and killers just look up and away from the beam anyway.

I play KILLER with my mouse and keyboard because that does make a difference, especially if you're playing Huntress, Deathslinger, Nurse, or even Legion (because of the frenzy), but survivor? ... No. Controllers have nothing to do with that. I have 500 hrs in the game on PC and 400 hrs in the game on PS4 The real reason why console players might have problems in comparison to PC players is because:

    1) Console frame-rate is #########, and that's not their fault. It makes it hard to tell a Wraith in the distance from some dropped pixels.

    2) Sometimes console players play with tv speakers instead of a headset and it makes directional sound difficult to discern so it's easier for killers to sneak up on them.

I mean , is it my fault that they were catched in the open and just fell like that ? How am i getting more points if i actually fail at trying to complete the objective ?

It's set up that way because DBD is essentially a party game and they want everyone to be able to play a full match, not be mori-ed off first hook & then, I'm assuming, the other survivors were likely put next to each other & had their hooks camped or else they would have been rescued off their first hooks by the survivor that wasn't hooked. You played in an unfun way & the game punished you for it, just like how it punishes survivors for gen-rushing & not rescuing people off of hooks or interacting with the killer.

  • @piggypablo said:

To test this theory out, I ran Windows of Opportunity in the last 10 matches and dropped every pallet on the map. In only 2 of the games did the killer bother to break the pallets. The other games they just ignored the pallets, knowing they could catch up easily. It's rare to pull off a pallet stun, unless you are going against a baby killer. This begs the question, why are pallets in the game at all? I propose a nerf to bloodlust or an increase in movement speed to survivors/decrease in speed to killers.

?? Rare to get pallet stuns? I play in red ranks and I get pallet stuns all the time, against red rank killers.

I think you should reconsider your play style.

You apparently run into tunnelers and campers every game. Once in a while is random misfortune. But at some point, when a pattern seems to be emerging, you should examine the common theme in those games.

I think you're underestimating the amount of tunnelers/campers in the game. I'm a red rank survivor so I barely see them anymore, but I can always tell when I have a killer that's in yellow or green ranks... because they LOVE to camp.

1 … 3 4 5 6 7 … 16
