Well that's kind of the problem I don't boot up the game go into killer, select Trickster and stare at him all day, I play the game. So the way he looks doesn't matter when you can't even play him because of all his gameplay issues. The art team did a good job and that's great and then the rest of him got completely destroyed by the way he plays. They had the PTB and barely listened to any of the feedback, they released him like this so now what? Wait for update after update till something finally clicks in their heads and they make him into what he should be? That's just not acceptable when there's literally thousands of people doing their job for them and telling them what he needs.
I guess we play for different reasons. I've been a red rank killer and it was boring, so I mostly play to stream to my friends. Most of my matches are just me running around yelling at survivors to come back and look at my cool outfit & my friends telling me whether or not I should let people live based on random things like what outfits they have or whether or not they appreciate whatever dumb thing I'm doing. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Buffs would make him more fun for sure though.
-
???
The art team did a great job. I don't like anime or kpop and I love the look of the killer. The idea of his power is fine, he just needs some major buffs or to be a 115% killer to make up for how ######### he is in loops/jungle gyms instead of 110%.
-
Trickster needs buffs badly.
I will say that I've found that the most effective way to play him is to literally just hold down the knife button and spam like he has an SMG.
-
To be honest, he seems like he's a sign that Dead by Daylight is on the path to change and that's not necessarily a bad thing. If they leaned more into knowing what their game really is, they'll be able to do more with it.

Insta gen completion.
A Spirit with hidden Stridor.
A Huntress running Bond.
Tbf the Spirit could have just had really good headphones. I have expensive headphones with spatial sound and I can hear the craziest things.
-
I'm a PC player and I hate playing injured. The pools of blood that you leave everywhere are a life saver for me when I'm playing killer, so I try to avoid them as a survivor. Plus, I'm just kind of trash at looping.
-
Sounds cues are so huge for Dead by Daylight on both sides. They ARE actually really necessary.
-
I found a Feng yesterday wearing all green and hiding in the bamboo because I was walking past and I heard a little gasp for air. I never would have seen her otherwise. Like, I literally couldn't see her because it's impossible to see through the bamboo, so holy crap, I'd say audio cues are less overpowered than that.

Let me just tell her to stop chasing me so I can heal to counter strider.
If she's chasing you & you're injured she'd find you without stridor.
-
It just gets people out of the match early. I rarely camp/tunnel because I play a lot of survivor and I like everyone to have fun--but I will say, I camped/tunneled an Ace that teabagged me with a key in his hand the last time I played. At that point, he was the only one I wanted dead, I let someone else leave because they had a nice outfit.
As for hating being tunneled/camped... that's pretty obvious, right? You literally can't play the game?
-
Absolutely not hahahha. That'd be insanely OP.
-
I've been playing for a long time too--it's never been THAT difficult to rank up.

thanks for the advise. i think too the problem with me is that im not too familiar with the killers mechanics and i panic slash. if the survivors are just being good at their objective, no problem. i cant get mad if they are good. its when they are toxic that i want them to die that much more. im still a wholesome killer tho i wont face camp a toxic survivor.
Mad Grit is a good perk for when you're being bullied by survivors that chase you while you're carrying people who have been downed. But I feel you! It can be pretty tough.

Heh. Talk about assumptions. I do always ask. Most SWF are up front about it. I like to know if I'm right or wrong. It is a game within a game. I do ask whenever I think I'm playing a SWF if they are as SWF. They are up front about it. And that is yet another way I know I face a LOT more SWF than I do Solos.
Cool! Now keep a log of it & come back to me when you're done! I have to go play Cyberpunk2077.

Actually I do know, and I figure it out very quickly. As I was telling the other poster, I like to feed SWF information and let them see me doing something because they relay the information to EVERYONE on the team. Remember, I favor the Wall Hacking Myers with the maximum range of it. If I do something, letting one of them see me do it, and then watch 2-3 other people who could not see me react accordingly to the information they just got over the wire.... I KNOW. I generally do a test like this very early in the game just to figure it out.
My suggestion to you is try it yourself. Play a Spooky Myers and do something that only one Survivor can see (while watching multiple of them through the wall hack) and watch how many of them react almost instantly to the change in your behavior. You may not like me (fair enough) but I think you are a more or less fair-minded person. I suspect if you saw how I'm doing it yourself, and that it works, that you would accept that I have a reliable way of knowing when I'm facing a SWF. Can all Killers do this? No. I never said they could. I said I know, and I am explaining how I figure it out.
Yeah, no. You're making way too many assumptions. You can't definitively say why someone is doing something like walking in a new direction.
Ask in your matches, get data, and then we'll talk again.

@Moundshroud said:

I'm not focused on anything, but I thought that might be a good test. You feel one way about it (a rather extreme point of view), and I feel the other. It seemed the mature, grown up thing to just test it and get our answer. But I'm patient. You indicate that you are a Red Rank Survivor. I'm sure you will show up in one of my matches eventually. Since I play Spooky most of the time these days, we can test it then.
In regards to how many SWF I face (and how many of them are really good), there is no way to verify that until the DEV do what many of us are asking and reveal to the Killer when they are facing (or faced) a SWF. Until that time, we have to use our judgement based on game play and what we experience first hand. I know when I'm facing a SWF and when I'm not with a pretty fair degree of accuracy. I face more SWF than Solo these days. You seem determined to tell me I'm wrong. I find it amusing. Be sure to let me know, when we do run across each other, if I was facing you in your 4-Stack or as a Solo. Until then, we will just have to agree to disagree.
There's too many variables to your proposed test. It's too based on personal skill (on both sides), as well as perk loadout/items, luck with positioning & maps, not to mention the map RNG. Not to mention that it's a "test" that has absolutely nothing to do with the statistics of SWF teams. Playing against each other is not even remotely related to that number.
& see, that's what I'm saying--you literally don't factually know. You can't in one breath say that your personal experiences are the truth while disallowing someone else to use THEIR own experiences as competing evidence because your PERSONAL EXPERIENCE is not inherently more valid than anyone else's experiences. Our evidence--anecdotal evidence that is entirely based on personal experiences--is equally valid and can only be countered by data & statistics gathered over time.
I find it ~amusing~ that you're so stuck up your own ass that you unironically tried to argue that your evidence gathered through personal experience is only anecdotal when it's used to support an argument.
Edit: BTW, essentially saying "1VS1 ME, BRO" is not the mature way to settle this discussion--I don't understand why you'd think it would be. The mature method is to gather statistical data which you already declined to do.

Isn't it though? Heck, I was willing to put anecdotal aside and put some things to the real test but you declined. I think you must LIKE anecdotal rather than putting your money where your mouth is... just saying. ;)
Nah, and your experiment would prove nothing because you're focusing on my saying that spine chill negates scratched mirror Myers, not the amount of sweaty 4 stacks you're paired against. What you should do, if you really want a "real test" to know who's experiences are more common, is start to ask after matches if they're solo players or stacked & what their stack numbers are (2 stack, 3 stack, 4 stack). Keep a record of it--it might surprise you how many people you assumed are 4 stacks are solos or 2 stacks.

no bro THEY FOLLOW ME! any time i get in a chase with someone that is ACTUALLY MY RANK the high rank will follow and pallet stun/flashlight (which is okay) but the t bagging and pointing
Like I said ITS DAY TWO IM RANK LIKE 17 AND THEYRE RANK 4 ######### IS UP WITH THIS SYSTEM. It shouldn't be the way it is. Completely outmatched to begin with, whats the point? They get a free win off of a rank 20-17? How is that a win. I'm not going to become a total sociopath and just not give a dang. All i'm saying is that as killer, day two, i've seen so much toxicity on this side that it blows all of my previous interactions with toxic killers out of the water.
Just ignore them & don't pick up under pallets, give them a slap when they're crowding you. Slap them away before you do pick ups or look at a wall if you can, and then always look up when you're carrying to hooks.
Remember too, if someone is chasing you, that is one less survivor that's doing gens.

We should setup a game. You play Solo or SWF? I'm guessing Solo since you seem so darn determined to claim that SWF aren't a thing. I'm sure we could get some random people to join in and NOT do Comms for a little custom game. It could be fun. We can test out your theory that Spine Chill makes Spooky Myers powerless.
I do both. I play solo, with a duo, and with a 4 stack. But I'm not going to do a custom game with you because:
1) I never said SWF isn't a thing, I said you're grossly overestimating how many sweaty SWF 4 stacks you play against
2) I just don't like you as a living human person & I don't want to know you off of this forum.

Because the evidence is NOT anecdotal to me. It is only anecdotal when I use it to support an argument with you (or someone else). I play in the Red Ranks. *I'm Rank-1 again as of today in fact with my Spooky Myers. I wiped out a SWF on Midwich to get there. Again, I know when I'm fighting Solos and when I'm fighting a Team with Comms. They behave very differently. It isn't a big deal; I'm just honest about it. Most of them are too. It seems like it is very important to you (for some reason) to claim that SWF aren't all that common, and that the GOOD ones are even more rare. That simply isn't the case when you hit the Red Ranks.
I would agree with you in the Green and even when Green and Purple are mixing. The SWF (plenty of them there too) aren't that on the beam yet. But by the time they get to Red they have really worked out the kinks, come into the game min/max what they bring. They have a strategy. My job is to figure it out and screw it up. If I see how they mean work it, it is easier to disrupt it. Why do you think so many Solo Players have been getting increasingly frustrated? They don't like being thrown in with a 3-Person SWF. Said SWF consider them a disposable asset more often than not, and will sacrifice the so-called "Red Shirt" without a second thought.
When I play against a group that I deem are mostly Solo, I take it down a notch. This is because all the Perks and my loadout are set to be oppressive as hell to slow down the SWF, coordinated Gen-Rush. What slows down a SWF slightly, is monstrous to the Solo Que. It is an unfair truth. It is why I wish they had broken the Ques up and found another way (besides Perks) to balance Comms. Still, I have my Dailies and Rifts to clear. I have my Emblems to earn and need Blood Points for various things. My charity can only go so far.
I play in red ranks.
Your evidence is anecdotal.

I never said they couldn't do any of those things. I merely pointed out, being in the Red Ranks, fighting in LOTS of matches every day, that most of the teams I fight are at least (3) Person SWF with a Solo. They make no bones about it, so why are you trying so hard to pretend it isn't so? I can tell when I'm fighting Solos and when I'm fighting a SWF. Most people can; I just have the added benefit of being able to see people reacting to information they can't know when I'm far away.
I'm not sure why you decided to plant your flag on this hill, or why. It is your hobby horse and you can ride it all you want. SWF Survivor Teams are extremely common in the Red Ranks. They are far more common than Solo. It is just a fact. Darwinism plays apart. The 5th Perk (Comms) is a huge advantage over Solos. It is only commonsense that those who have access to it are going to get there in greater numbers. Are you trying to argue otherwise? That would be silly.
Because you have zero evidence to back up your claim. Only anecdotal crap.

You think so huh? I hit Rank-1 playing only Myers (a mix and match of Spooky and Maniac). Right now I'm Rank-2 playing pretty much ONLY Spooky Myers (and sometimes other Killers for Rifts). Spine Chill is a pain, but powerless? Naw.
I promise you that most people you're playing against are not in a SWF 4 stack. People have spine chill, they have premonition, they have the ability to read whether or not people are in chases by looking at the UI, they can also just use their eyes/ears and prior experience playing against killers. What you think is getting information from other people is pretty frequently just people having played the game enough to know to rotate their camera or to look down at the UI and see that someone is lit up as in a chase.

I don't accuse people of anything. It isn't my business. But I do know how to recognize a SWF by how they react to things they cannot know. I play Spooky Myers mostly (Scratched Mirror+Boyfriend's Memo) and my current challenge is to see if I can win games with him consistently on BIG maps rather than the small indoor ones. It means I don't always put in a map offering and just take on what comes. The benefit of playing Spooky Myers is you can see a LOT of the Survivors at all times via the Wall Hack.
This allows you to see when they change direction, drop what they are doing, and are clearly getting info on you from the people at your feet or on the hook. Are there great Solo Players in the Red Ranks? Sure, without a doubt. They are the minority though. I play a lot of Solo myself, but Purple is as far as I've gotten. My point is the majority of the Red Rank teams I play are SWF and they are loaded to bear and extremely coordinated. One of the reasons I play Spooky so much (besides just liking the challenge) is that it kicks the SWF in the groin. The less information they have, the less information they can share. No terror radius means they can't sonar you about the map and relay. No aura to read means no OoO benefit to call out position, and so on. I'm more effective as Spooky against a SWF than I am a bunch of Solos. It is ironic but true. Solos don't rely on that constant stream of info from the SWF's 5th Perk (Comms). They play Old School and it is harder to set them up. :)
Sounds like you forget that spine chill exists. Spooky Myers is powerless against spine chill players.

But also I can tell you why, killers especially will tunnel the ######### out of a survivor to get rid of a key because all a key does it reward survivors to playing terribly, just like a mori.
Survivors have to do their objectives to be able to use a key. It doesn't reward them for playing badly.

You have no idea of knowing if that's true or not, you're just assuming it's true because you've played against people who know what to do because they've played the game for so long & so they seem coordinated. I'm in red ranks & I've had a LOT of matches where killers accuse survivors at the end of being in a SWF and they're almost always wrong.

I think they just meant that if I'd come in here drunk and complained that, as Survivor, the Killer completely owned me, and I tried blaming it on that particular Killer being OP, or Survivors not having enough good perks or something, then my complaint shouldn't be taken seriously because obviously, being drunk probably would have had more to do with my loss than anything else.

I feel like booting up the game for the first time in over a month and running Iri Head + Ebony all day out of spite for all the whining that leads to killer nerfs
nevermind, looks like the patch releases today.. of course it does
could just iri head slug then
So, you wanted to spitefully prove the point that things like moris and iri heads are unbalanced and OP? How astoundingly stupid.
Anyway.
Personally I dig this change, as a killer I never use moris because I hate cutting myself short on points & as a survivor I was getting sick of playing against moris. I'm red rank & play with a friend and we had silly matching names for a day--and we literally ran into 9 ebony moris in just a few hours of playing. So fun and interactive.

No, they don't. If they did, they would've complained when the Nurse was released, or when the Legion's tome was released, or when David's tome was released, or when Felix was released, but they didn't. They only complain when it's about LGBT.

That makes no sense. DbD has a well defined lore, nobody's going to add fan fiction to it.
I've seen people who text roleplay Dead by Daylight--I've seen ACTUAL forum roleplay communities about it. You vastly underestimate what people will add fanfiction to.
Also, I'm pretty sure none of the character sexualities are addressed in this game. It's non-relevant information. They could add a throwaway line to a survivor in their backstory mentioning their partner or spouse or something, I guess.

A 4k is not the same as getting adept. You may have 4k'd most of your matches but something tells me they were all brutal and not merciless. Anyone can 4k. Don't diminish the challenge of getting a merciless victory on a bugged out killer using perks that are also bugged while the emblem system itself is also buggy.
Nah, dude. I get merciless all the time. I don't like to kill people unless they're on their third hook. It's literally not hard.
-
What, like it's hard? Play enough matches and you're eventually going to 4k. I've 4ked in most of my matches with the twins, even against purple & red ranks & I only just now finally got perks besides oppression on them.

I think sometimes we get so involved in mechanics that we muddle up the solution to some common problems. How about this as a simple solution that covers ALL the bases:
Implement a better and more comprehensive RATING system.
Allow green and purple killers to have bloodlust.
Disable bloodlust for red ranks.
Any questions?
Arguably bloodlust is more important in red ranks than any other ranks--red ranks is where survivors know how to abuse infinites.

Yup, it really is. The other thing I do accidentally all the time is that when I down someone with Victor, I'll go and throw that person on the closest hook, but I'm distracted/busy with Charlotte and don't want to swap to Victor at that moment, so he's accidentally hook camping because I'm trying to kick generators with Pop.

I guess that's you.
I on the contrary find their hairstyles to be very different, but their skin colors are quite similar.
Their skin color isn't even remotely similar. When I first saw Élodie, her French name/light skin color/hair color made me assume she was mixed heritage (which I believe I was wrong about, it was just an assumption). Her skin color is much lighter than Claudette's.
-
Personally one of the things I've noticed as the twins is that I accidentally camp a lot. Like, I hook someone and then I'm like, 'I want to go use Victor to check gens' and so I leave behind Charlotte as soon as I can split from her and fairly people see her left behind and assume I did it on purpose. Like nah, I'm running around trying to surprise people as a baby.
But then I hit someone as Victor and I go back to Charlotte and turn around and see people healing next to me.

Pretty sure there was some drama about it lately. They don't really like you to call Victor a baby.
