  • I think people hold issues from prior matches with certain survivors. I was playing with a Steve and he was relentlessly tunneled by a Doctor and then after we were all slugged to save Steve, the doctor let him bleed out for reasons completely unknown. Then he picked everyone up and gave us the wiggle. Let everyone else escape. I. don't understand.

There have been matches where someone was DEEPLY FACECAMPED on first hook until death and the killer completely ignored me or refused to hit me because I was the obsession and I understand that there are perks that allow you to have more speed or what have you. ut morally I have to save someone on first hook who is being face camped 2 inches from their face no matter what.

Also maybe the killer was a Claudette main and has a soft spot for Claud

My friend used to be a red rank survivor- rank 1. He was how I learned to play the game. I could only do this because of the lack of cap and without him I probably wouldn't have kept playing. He's now rank 20 due to reset and not playing and I'm the rank 1. If he were to come back, he can just jump straight into a queue with me because we both know what we're doing and can have fun.

All they have to do is have matchmaking actually function. You shouldn't be punished for playing with friends and, furthermore, ranks are not an accurate depiction of skill.

Okay, well with that being said, perhaps they could pair survivors with x amount of hours played with killers who are also within that quota?

The whole ranking system is wack honestly, and I completely understand that there are many more pressing issues out there with this game. Like the bugs.

For example, I just played a match where Quinton became the huntress's ax after being downed and whenever he got hooked, I was hooked in mid air. Then his body followed her around the whole match- yes I laughed really hard but that's a big bug. Or the dull totem that can be turned into a hex totem that's stuck in the tractor.

I'm not trying to complain so that way they completely screw the game up because people are complaining too much, I just wanted to point out the obvious that it's totally broken when that happens and people can easily abuse that system and they still do. And they will. Because people are people. No one's saying you can't have friends, or that you'll be punished for having friends. I'm just saying- Y'all. Know. It's. Messed. Up.

the people who SWF that are red ranks know it's messed up because there is a high chance that you're going to get a "noob killer". there is a smaller chance that you're going to get a killer who's been away from the game for a couple of months. :/

  • Why not make it so you have to be within at least 5 levels of each other for swf to work? I mean an 18 level difference??? That's ridiculous. There SHOULD be caps for it. Red ranks can pair with purples thats fine but red ranks with level 18s and 20s???? That's broken. if they give their friends time to actually accumulate some hours then they can survive with friends easily. Maybe a week, 2 tops and you can get to purple rank through trial and error.

That's seriously a problem not only for the killer who is more than likely to be a level 18-16 but also for the people who are new to the game. How are you, a red rank, going to show someone how to juke the killer, or show them "the ropes" when it takes hours of gameplay and mistakes for that to happen. I understand people wanting to play with their friends and there's nothing wrong with that, I SWF and we're within the same niche, but there is a major problem with Matchmaking that needs to be addressed and if this is how the game has "always been" then we're "putting up" with a broken system.

It's an unfortunate and inconvenient part of this game. Don't get me wrong, I love this game and the community for the most part is fantastic- this is just something that's been bothering me the past couple of weeks.

  • I absolutely hate Nea.

Nea's with flashlights, Nea's with pink hair, Nea's default, Bloody Nea's. I hate 'em all as killer and as a survior. I will go out of my way to leave a lobby if I see a default Nea with a flashlight. AND THATS ME AS A SURVIVOR. WHY??? BECAUSE THEY DONT UNHOOK THEY ARE TOXIC AND THEY WILL 100% FLASHLIGHT CLICK.... oh and how about crouch for no.... absolutely no reason. idk... im in pain from the flashbacks.

I don't understand you rando Nea's. Why are u lik dis.

  • Yeah its still a thing but I mean, they're preventing the hooked surv from being rescued for one and when that hooked survivor inevitably dies, boom the downed hook hider is next. I think it a lame rat play honestly and they need to fix the bug for sure.

  • I completely agree, mori's cost bloodpoints and unless you feel completely confident that you can double hook all players, you're spending bloodpoints on something that may or may not happen. If they make mori's more like bloody party streamers then it would be way more enjoyable!

I wouldn't feel like sucha pickle when the killers offering doesn't turn around.

Aye Tis true. My problem was not with this but with the fact that some people who paid for the pass like me feel a bit miffed off (if) these are sold for shards (these being the leaked skins I was stopped from mentioning). Since back then you had to pay/grind for them and the way they were portrayed in the trailer made me believe they weren’t coming back.

I never knew they had always planned to release them later on. Mistake on my part I must admit.

oh!!! okay I completely understand that. I just spent all month grinding away like a psychopath on the rift and getting to lvl 70 and then realized that they extended it ._. I coulda just sat back and still got to 70 in no time flat.

I would say, if you want something you should go for it. Whether or not it will be back doesn't matter, if it makes YOU happy, you should work hard to achieve that goal in the time you're given to do so. If you miss the goal time frame and it comes back around- you're one lucky gooose!!!

  • OBJECTION.

I STILL GET MORI'ED. That means the nerf wasn't hard enough. (JUST KIDDING) As a killer, I don't play to mori people. I play to have fun and goof off. Mostly to win, but like people have said countless times mori's don't give you as much bloodpoints as actually hooking everyone 3 times.

As a survivor, look mann I still get mori'ed. All the time. I think they should ramp up mori's and make them more like bloody party streamers. Everyone who get mori'ed get extra blood points and the killer also gets like 100% extra blood points or something

    "MAKE MORI'S MORE WHOLESOME 2021"

  • I'm honestly excited about it and cannot see the issue behind it. If i only had 21000 IS then I would totally snatch up the outfits.

I guess some people are really wanting these outfits to not be available for everyone because they want to feel extremely special but uhh... You're already special enough and no one else will ever exist the same as you. So how about let others try to get these outfits without making them feel bad :/

Loved this 🤣 thanks for the positivity here!

No problem! We need more! I know this game is SUPER frustrating but sometimes booooy howdy is it hilarious.

  • Jumpscare Myers IS THE SCARIEST. Gettin' YANKED off of a Gen 5 seconds into the game makes me scream like a little girl.

  • Usually when someone brings a Key and I'm the killer, only one person makes it out. Big whoop, congrats on their end and GG. I don't have any problems with Keys and honestly bringing franklins does nothing. From the perspective of Survivor, just remember where you got hit and boom go back. It's that not hard.

There are Hatch challenges, this is true so what can you do? I have to complete the same dang challenges lmao. From the perspective as a Killer, I understand the frustration but it's not as much frustration as when a David smacks me in the face with a pallet, t bags, and then blinds me ._. Keys don't bother me, nasty players do. CURSE YOU DAAAAVIIIID....

If they played good, did gens and were respectable(not total you-know-whats), iiiiight take that hatch, get outta my face, and complete your challenge- good on you m8 as far as im concerned.

I agree I have never used ds and currently I'm rank 11 and I never see any of the solo survivors using ds seems like newer players may use ds. I tried using ds once tho I can never hit the mark lol.

didnt have too much problem hitting the mark, i just dont use it because it almost guarantees a tunnel. it pisses off the killer more to use it than doing an unsafe hook rescue. it wasnt worth wasting a perk slot for it.

  • ive been thinking this for a while! i think a shush and a thumbs up would be good.

  • so good news to all new killers. those toxic d-bags pretty much dissipate after about rank 14. green/purple ranks are generally not toxic. now i dont have hundreds of hours into killer so i dont know for sure but i noticed a serious decrease in toxicity once i got past those beginning ranks. i havent gotten a single ds yet either. maybe its good karma for not running ds as a surv

Mad Grit is a good perk for when you're being bullied by survivors that chase you while you're carrying people who have been downed. But I feel you! It can be pretty tough.

lol i JUST bought legion too

  • @mintchapstick said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1809419#Comment_1809419

Just ignore them & don't pick up under pallets, give them a slap when they're crowding you. Slap them away before you do pick ups or look at a wall if you can, and then always look up when you're carrying to hooks.

Remember too, if someone is chasing you, that is one less survivor that's doing gens.

thanks for the advise. i think too the problem with me is that im not too familiar with the killers mechanics and i panic slash. if the survivors are just being good at their objective, no problem. i cant get mad if they are good. its when they are toxic that i want them to die that much more. im still a wholesome killer tho i wont face camp a toxic survivor.

its crazy dude i was dumbfounded lol

  • @steezo_de said:

Well it is a PvP game.

    umm. ya

  • Whats really funny is most of the time they are Neas. Its funny because she is my main and most matches as a survivor im getting singled out. NOW I KNOW WHY LOL

  • @xenotimebong said:

One thing I will say is that toxic players are much more likely to try and game the system to get a lower ranked killer. Smurfing, deranking and playing with a brown rank friend are all things they can do (which isn’t to say that all survivors playing with low rank friends are toxic - they’re not).

So you’re probably seeing a higher than average number of these survivors since they’re actively trying to get matched with killers who aren’t experienced, so they can get their sick juke montages for their YouTube.

I don’t see that many toxic survivors these days but I used to see a lot of them when I was newer and at brown/yellow rank.

i just made rank 15 so im slowly making my way up there. What youre saying makes total sense i think once i get to say a green rank or even purple if i can maintain it as a killer i would see less toxicity.

  • @mylesmylo said:

Oh for sure, I never get crappy messages from killer, the only messages I get are from the survivors who where just on my team, trying to not take any responsibility to why they sucked that round lol now yes some killers can be toxic dholes but I'm fully agreeing survivors are worse for it.

yeah dude even as a survivor i encountered MORE toxic survivors than killers.

  • @DetailedDetriment said:

Killers tend to be more toxic than survivors, but there are more survivors than killers, so you'll see toxic behavior from survs than you will from killers.

I dont know because i havent been killer long enough to determine this as a fact, i know that 90% of the time the killer is indeed NOT toxic to me.

(i am also not a toxic survivor)

  • yeah i just always though killers were more toxic. out of the 4 survs one is bound to be toxic. also i just need to keep calm and not let it piss me off so easily. im SURE if i keep playing killer i will have TONS of toxic survivors. the quicker i learn to not let it get to me the better.

Playing killer is really fun and when i do get good survivors it makes the previous experiences manageable.

I know i gotta GIT GUD to deal with those pesky ones but what do yall do when they follow you just out of reach?

  • @OldHunterLight said:

Just like I said in another thread, not all survivors and killers are toxic.

Sometimes they will try baiting you to follow them.

I suggest learning how to not give a crap, slug when you want to and feels like the best idea, show them that you will do anything to win.

no bro THEY FOLLOW ME! any time i get in a chase with someone that is ACTUALLY MY RANK the high rank will follow and pallet stun/flashlight (which is okay) but the t bagging and pointing

Like I said ITS DAY TWO IM RANK LIKE 17 AND THEYRE RANK 4 ######### IS UP WITH THIS SYSTEM. It shouldn't be the way it is. Completely outmatched to begin with, whats the point? They get a free win off of a rank 20-17? How is that a win. I'm not going to become a total sociopath and just not give a dang. All i'm saying is that as killer, day two, i've seen so much toxicity on this side that it blows all of my previous interactions with toxic killers out of the water.

  • i submitted a ticket for it. i completed the challenge the second time though.

  • PRAISE BE TO THE ENTITY

Honestly, what would make mori's more wholesome for all sides is that if you got an extra 5,000 points for being Moried. Instead survivors get punished for being Moried. Every time I get Moried i lose a pip and I just sit there like why do I even play this game.

"Make Mori's more like Bloody Party Streamers 2021"

    I'm happy for the "Nerf".

DO YOU UNDERSTAND HOW HARD IT IS TO COMPLETE FOUR OR FIVE GENERATORS WHEN I HAVE TWO DCS FROM A MORI :I

  • I'VE MET ONE.. AND LIVED TO TELL THE TALE!

It was a dark and lonely night and my spooky cat wasn't going off..... All of a sudden THREE GENS WERE DONE.... NO SPOOKY CAT.... then two MORE GENS DONE.... People were like

ARE THEY AFK?!?!?!? LETS SNOOP... BAD IDEA....

All of a sudden I see a default MEG GO DOWN IN THE BASEMENT, I HEAR "HelP IVE falleN" So Yui goes to investigate and BOOM while im opening the exit gate ACE GOES DOWN TOO ALL 3 IN THE BASEMENT

Shoooo0o0o0o0ot I LEFT. I WAS SCARED. And in the after chat there i saw with my OWN TWO EYES a player named bubbas basement and he said that they paid the price for invading the basement and that i was smart for playing it safe....

  • As a Survivor, I want to complete one Gen, unhook one person safely, and cleanse one totem at least. Then I know I contributed to the match and I don't feel as bad when everything goes .... Up in the air.

I feel terrible when I do like 4 gens, unhook my whole team and escape and then I LOSE A PIP. :I I don't understand the pip system at all, it's hard to please.

Having fun and not walking away from the game upset is what I consider winning now. I detached from the rank system and just go off of one Gen, one safe unhook, and one totem (at least) system.

  • @Greatamygdala said:

You're one step away from saying

    -Remove killer

yeah dude thats way too much. i think there could be a few things worked on but thats quite a bit. i think that victor should have a longer cool down if kicked back to charlotte but he has NO way of hooking so why send him back if he downs someone? unbreakable is the counter to this (unless its toxic face camping) in that case its not the killer but the player.

There are a lot of bugs involved with this release and im sure they will rework the twins when they iron them out.

I main as a survivor i suck as killer. Now if the game continues to nerf killers because the survivors get upset then we wont have any killers to play against and we wont have a game.

  • i really would like to hear from killer mains and their perspective on it. Im not even too upset about the toxicity. i mean yeah it sucks but the main point of this post is do they promote toxicity. after getting a few perspectives on the topic i think they attract toxic players more than promote toxicity.

  • @FixThisGame69 said:

I hate the twins. It does promote toxic behavior. Victor should have a longer cooldown, it's dumb how you kick him then hes back at it again in mere seconds.

Also even when downing an injured survivor, victor should be sent away on cooldown to prevent massive slugging. This is dumb I am hating this game right now.

I think its frustrating for sure but i dont think ALL killers are at fault here, They are playing to WIN just like us. they will do whatever they need to do to win. im not upset about that, im upset that they pretty much spit in your face when you do go down or get hooked

I agree, Victor does need a larger cooldown time, i dont think he needs to be sent back though. I've bleed out on the floor the past 2 days of Twin Craze more than i ever have. Im sure we will see refinement eventually but until then we just gotta GIT GUD! XD

  • @[Deleted User] said:

And that's why I couldn't stand playing more than 3 hours of Twins before getting utterly bored. Probably won't ever touch them besides dailies.

I just had yet ANOTHER slugging/camp round with face slaps and head nodding. i dont want to start doing this but i feel like until the "twin craze" is over im going to run DS tenacity unbreakable and soul guard. No one even attempts to save anymore and i spend the whole game on the ground. that or just D/C but i hate doing that because it ruins everyones game.

  • Thats what it seems like. I just want to have fun, its just not very fun when killers are toxic. but hey such is life. i just think now that the twins are here we will see a new breed of toxicity

its not fun for killers to get toxic survivors either.

  • did a few rounds with the twins. yes they are strange and hard to get used to i get that, but it doesnt mean they have to be toxic. i think the twins do NOT promote toxic behavior now but rather ATTRACT toxic players

this just happened to me. this is more often than not with them. I in NO WAY play toxic, i dont even rock BT or DS i did NO t bagging. Just unwarranted toxicity.

  • @YOURFRIEND said:

Maybe it's because a lot of Elodie players simply don't have all the perks unlocked yet and that's one of the best ones they have available? She doesn't seem particularly loud to me but her audio does have a weird....crispness to it.

Yeah, I've noticed that too, almost like she has a cold? Or something. It's just really weird that i'm seeing everyone put on calm spirit with her. You're right, she's new and they could just be leveling her up

  • @mintchapstick said:

Personally one of the things I've noticed as the twins is that I accidentally camp a lot. Like, I hook someone and then I'm like, 'I want to go use Victor to check gens' and so I leave behind Charlotte as soon as I can split from her and fairly people see her left behind and assume I did it on purpose. Like nah, I'm running around trying to surprise people as a baby.

But then I hit someone as Victor and I go back to Charlotte and turn around and see people healing next to me.

thats what i thought. like its not intentional it is just something built in to the twins.

  • @keygun said:

I made a comment about this earlier.

In short: the twins only real strength is map control.

If Victor is babysitting, wait till he de spawns.

If charley is babysitting, don't heal at hook after save.

You have to team up and hook save together, or sit on gens. Same camping counter as other killers.

i read this just a little bit ago and i think i up voted. i think we as survivors just need to adjust and come up with a good combat to this new type of killer.

  • @Healthore77992 said:

Well, there isn't much they can do besides that

Thats not true. like i said before 8 out of 10 twins do this. the others play the twins differently and do not camp and tunnel yet still win. there are other ways to play as twins but the twins promote the camp/tunnel strategy.

  • @SpookyPumpkinPiez said:

Oh man I have never seen a killer camp or tunnel as much. I thought bubba was bad. Every single time I've gone against the twins, everyone was tunneled and camped. Every. Single. Time. It's not fun, and I don't see how that's even fun for the killer either

Yeah exactly! I'm not trying to throw the survivor book at them but honestly I've seen so many people DC whenever they hear victor being let loose because they're probably tired of the same outcome. I love this game for the vastly different matches that I play but when I know we're all going to be camped and tunneled it becomes dry or stale. All in all maybe we're just in an early stage of this killer and haven't found our right counter strategy which probably involves unbreakable and soul guard.

I'm not trying to Killer Shame the twins for trying to do their jobs, I honestly just wanted to open up a discussion and see if this a reoccurring theme for everyone playing survs

  • TBH every time i use DS i get tunneled HARDER. it's supposed to be anti-tunnel but almost encourages it. i've done away with it in my perk builds. the only chance is to combine with poised and hope a gen gets done while in mid tunnel from ds. its NEVER really helped with tunneling. BT has helped far more than DS. I don't care if they nerf it or get rid of it because it doesn't help as much as it promotes tunneling.

Because lets be honest, if you get stabbed in the face for trying to put someone in time out it KINDA hurts your Ego a lil bit. But when others can grab the killers attention mid chase, that's when DS works and I can get away from them safely but it requires people actually working together and when i'm paired with 3 rando default characters... DS does NOT work as well.

    Yeah, it is pretty terrifying.

Honestly, despite the general belief of many forum Survivors, there's a large number of killers who don't camp or only camp when the situation calls for it (like you hook a guy and there's 2 Survivors just standing around waiting like they don't have anything better to do).

There's also a subset I'd call desperation camping, when the game has gone totally off the rails for the killer and they decide they'd rather at least have one skull on the score screen than zero.

yeah but as a survivor main if i see someone getting camped at the fallout because the game went off the rails in the survivors favor i will risk my escape to save. especially if im running BT. Usually this method ends with ME dead on hook but hey my conscience is clear lol

  • @finitethrills said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1795811#Comment_1795811

My statement was that yes, the twins power setup actively promotes slugging, because at the level of both sides being good mechanical players and both sides are actively trying to WIN the match, the Twins optimal strategy is injuring all or most Survivors, the using Victor to down all the injured players. I'd argue that the Twins, in fact, cannot even win without doing so (again, looking at it from both sides being high skilled, trying to win, and playing optimally - because that's wheee balancing in pvp games has to actually start from).

Obviously, twins vs Survivors who are less skilled than they are leave them more room to play with other strategies. Even then, it's still most efficient to do it the slugging way.

I don't think the twins REQUIRE the alternating control camping, but they absolutely are well suited for it.

Same goes for exit gate camping.

Not necessary to win, but the design makes it effective to do on her.

So yes, unlike a few, much stronger killers, the twins design definitely encourages methods that are less than fun for Survivors to play against.

That being said, heavy slugging is often very effective on any killer, and when a high tier nurse player decides to play the slug game, say when the Survivors all grouped up to heal someone, it's scary how fast a match can go from up in the air to "all over but the crying".

Dude i didnt even think about exit gate camping. Thats a scary thought lol. Thank you for your input i didnt want to just chalk it up to a batch of toxic killers. i figured this is promoted and dont want to hold it against the killers. without them there will be no me. cant play killer to save my life.
