  • I agree - killers who camp, tunnel, and slug are bad at the game, and unfortunately that's most killers. Most survivors are bad at the game too, so it works out really well for the killers. Solo queue is just not fun to play anymore. At all.

  • New survivors, Spine Chill is a useless perk and you won't get better by relying on it.

Do gens, even if you're injured. You cannot stop playing just because you're injured.

Do not assume the other three people are doing the last gen. They're all doing the same thing, which is nothing!

  • I like getting matched with three teammates who literally do nothing and just wait by the gates. What do you meeeean

  • I mean, do you have to have a main? Play whoever you feel like. Also, you can't main Ghostface because your friend did? Did I read that right?

The number of people who might crash near the end of the match is allot smaller than the number who wuss out to give their friend hatch.

Just as the number who crash are allot smaller than those who rage-quit; hence why the DC penalty is palatable even though it catches a PC-snafu now and again.

And I'm not 'triggered', but I am tired of watching people ######### out and exploit a bad mechanic to deny me two kills; the quitter and the hatch-user. It's an easy way to shaft the Killer out of half the match's kills, so it needs to be fixed.

It will still happen and screw over survivors who don't deserve it. But that's fine, right? As long as killers get the 4k they think they deserve, huh?

  • So the survivor who didn't DC doesn't deserve the chance to get hatch, is what you're saying? The only person who matters is the killer, huh? Just say you want free kills no matter what, it's fine.

  • @Power_Guy said:

It's simple, and it's in two parts.

    1. If a Survivor DCs to make the Hatch appear or open; the Hatch will not appear, or open (if it has already appeared). DCing is not a Kill or an Exit, and thus should not be treated like the Survivor was Killed or Exited the match.
    2. If The Survivor or Killer is within <x> meters of the Hatch; it will not appear, or open (if it has already appeared). They will have to move far enough away from the Hatch that they cannot open (or close) it right away.

This balances it out a bit, removes hatch camping, and also punishes cheating for hatch (aka; DCing for hatch).

People can argue against my idea, but I will be upfront; I view DCing for hatch as cheating, and nothing will change my mind on that fact. Disagree with my ideas all you want; point out any flaws or things I have overlooked, but you won't change my mind on DCing to give your SWF buddies the hatch being a form of cheating.

How do you know if a survivor DCs to give someone the hatch vs any other reason they might have DCed?

Honestly I love how triggered every killer is about this. You can't do anything about it. It's an exploit that doesn't have an easy fix. The DC penalty is back, so that should help.

  • He's honestly so boring to play against, and he doesn't need a buff. If you don't think you can get a 4k with him and that's all that matters to you, play as someone else.

  • People will still DC. I've had it happen three times today, and it's back. If anything I'll just be playing less DBD, like I have since the DC penalty was enacted.

I've got 780 cakes. I'll use them probably only when I'm in a 3 man/4 man swf or playing killer.

Sorry to any survivors with me but I know if I wait till I'm in a swf then I know:

    • They'll also bring cakes
    • They'll be good enough that I'll get good value for my offering
    • My friends get points

    So yea sorry randoms lol

None of us in solo queue expect anything from our randoms anyway

  • I mean, no one is required to use their cakes. I know I'm not thrilled about giving a camping, tunneling, and slugging killer double BP for playing like that. I'm sure killers feel like they don't want to reward survivors for "gen rushing" them. No one is obligated to use them ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  • Check for offerings before or during the game. It seems like shack is a good place to check no matter what. I know on the Game it only spawns on the lower level, and I assume it's the same for Hawkins, Midwich, and ######### RPD, but I'm not sure. The Swamps have pretty predicable spawns. I only ever find it by shack or by that one smaller building with two levels. On preschool I used to see it a lot in the basement where the totem and chest also spawn, but I haven't seen it there in a very long time. On both Preschool and Haddonfield, I see the hatch spawn on the streets more than anywhere else. I think it's just going to be experience and luck, to be honest.

I rarely bother trying to find it as killer or survivor though. Usually someone has been camping it and I'd rather be doing other things than searching for the hatch. If a survivor gets it, I don't care. I'd rather the game just be over than spend 10 minutes looking for a Blendette. And as survivor, as soon as my last teammate dies, hatch is usually closed since they were camping it.

I played for two hours today and had one AFK killer and two killers disconnect. It's crazy that you're having so many survivors DC when I have the opposite.

Just kidding, I just had my 3rd killer disconnect. I'm not sure I believe that you've had so many people DC in your games today. I don't think I've had a single game where any survivors DCed.

  • lol, yeah it's been happening a lot to me lately, weirdly. Just had a Pig do it. I almost feel bad for killers like that because they're that bad at the game, but at the same time, it's a scummy thing to do. I'm not going to help any killers from now on when they decide to farm. I'm doing gens and I'm out. It's boring, and I'm not going to give killers easy BP and then easy kills too because they decided to betray that trust. NO SIR.

  • Survivors don't have to do what you want them to do. Be happy you already have the huge advantage that is end game collapse and calm down.

  • I think it's hilarious this is the crap the devs have been doing while the game is broken on console. Rework the appearance of survivors that NO ONE ASKED FOR (except maybe Quinten, lol). There's literally nothing they won't make worse while NOT fixing actual problems.

  • I thought this post was going to be about dogshit killers who pretend they're farming just to get kills because they can't actually earn them otherwise.

When they were shut off because of the crashing I knew some people would abuse it because that's what they always do. But the dc rates are completley out of control. 12 of the 15 matches I played over the past few days have been literally nothing but constant disconnecting. If you played dbd before the dc penalty then you probably remember how bad it was, and now I'm getting nostalgia to the days when the first survivor would dc on first down 90% of the time.

I really thought this whole time that the dc penalty wasn't really doing much but it's quite clear to me now that it worked wonders to stop the disconnecting. This game has such an unbelievably high amount of rage quitting and I don't understand why in most cases. Sùcks for the people crashing during this update but the people abusing the lack of penalty are making solo queue and killer barely playable.

This isn't just my experience either, I've seen a lot of people having the same issues. If you disagree let me know why, maybe you can change my perspective on this because I really think it needs to come back asap.

I played for two hours today and had one AFK killer and two killers disconnect. It's crazy that you're having so many survivors DC when I have the opposite.

  • You're mad that survivors have learned how to play the game and are better than you? Should we all just run in a straight line and die so you have more fun?

Thank you for the laugh. Really.

  • I honestly think it's so funny that killers are so triggered by this.

  • I agree, Wraith isn't a whole lot of fun anymore. I get hit while I'm in my 150% Balanced Landing bonus because he's so fast now. And the same happens to me, when I want out of a game and try to kill myself on hook, I Kobe.

  • @Squirrel_Thicc said:

For me on ps4 it's still lagging and freezing quite consistently.

I haven't played in like 10 days because I'm so tired of how broken it is for me as well on PS4. I was waiting to hear if it was actually better before even trying.

It's actually amazing that they're this incompetent, or maybe just unwilling, to fix the game for us.

    @kurgan8282 said:

can't honestly say it's worse than before, as a surv it is a bit better but playing killer is more or less the same disaster that was before.

If this fix came after 1/2 week it would have been acceptable, but after a month and a half of unplayable game, I was legitimately expecting a PERFECT fix.

Can't do much but reiterating that, for what it counts, BHVR won't see a cent from me anymore.

    PREACH

I will never spend a dime on this game again for the way they've treated us console players.

  • @Sadsnacks said:

I thought she was hotter before the update but im probably the only one

I never understood why everyone thought she was so ugly. She's been my main since day one. I'm a console player though and I haven't been playing since they broke the game. I'm scared to see what they did.

  • Yeah the new Autohaven is horrible. I'm not sure why the devs had to ruin that map. I can't even see if a pallet is on one side of a car when I'm on the other. But I also play on console and they don't give a damn about what the game is like for us.

  • I always laugh when people talk about "bullying" killers. People who think they're being bullied by pixels need to go outside and touch some grass and remember there's a real world full of people with actual problems out there.

  • I do think the new music for some killers is a nice touch. It's not scary because I have 1500 hours, but I love the Billy and Clown music.

  • Yes, we console players have been very clear about the fact that the game is awful to play compared to PC folks.

  • My experience in solo queue is selfish teammates who are either too lazy or too scared to help anyone else. People leave me to die for no reason when I've single handedly finished the last two gens while they hid, and opened both gates, and cleansed NOED, and went down to make a save when I could have left several minutes prior. Fully healed teammates leave me for no reason when they know there is no NOED. I've had games where there is one gen to go, and I find all three teammates literally just standing at the last gate, waiting for me to finish it. If there is NOED, rarely do any of them even take a second to look for the totem. Ive had games where I literally run the killer for EIGHT MINUTES STRAIGHT and they still don't do all the gens, but they certainly all had their crowns.

I'm glad solo queue has been nice for you, but in my more than 1500 hours, almost entirely as a solo queuer, it's miserable.

  • I get cakes on my P3 Nea in 1 out of every 7-8 webs. So, not nearly as many as I'd like.

  • @Boss said:

I'm probably not the only, but i think i'll be in the minority with this OPINION.

These have got to be the most boring challenges for me.

And then there's ones where i have to get a specific Emblem multiple times, just a drag that can't be sped up in any way at all.

There's probably way worse challenges out there, like that Dark Sense one in the first Tome.

But these Emblem ones are a consistent annoyance for me.

Ohey i guess i did a rant, though this one wasn't from frustration, they don't frustrate me.

    More from boredom.

I'd rather have more of these challenges, actually, because they reward playing the game and playing it well, not throwing so you can get hatch or never touching a gen because you need unhooks for that challenge.

  • Yeah Hag seems very strong if the killer is competent and the survivors are absolute morons, which happens a lot. I'm always amazed when I go to unhook someone who saw her put traps down, and they watch me crouch and not set off the traps, and they take off sprinting and get tunneled. You can lead a horse to water...

  • I just found the room with the flooding toilet for the first time and I've played probably at lease seven or eight games on that map now? I don't know. It just sucks for both sides, and I keep getting Pigs on that map for some reason. People go into struggle on their first hook because it's just so obnoxious to navigate. Even if you know your away around, it's awful. I actually love Midwich now by comparison.

And to answer your question, I actually do think I play pretty well on this map, and I still hate it.

Exactamundo. Totems are, by far and wide, the most easy-to-counter aspect of Dead by Daylight to date. Partly (or possibly even majority of) the reason why I don't run Hex perks -- they're just so pointless when all it takes is a 10-20 second cleansing period. Sure, I'd love to be able to run Devour Hope on a Killer or play NOED for reasons other than to camp and kill Survivors last minute, but my God there is no legitimate circumstance where running a Hex is permissible. I'd argue that hexes are the flimsiest flaw in this game at this current time, and the more and more I see people complaining about this one and this other one... it just convinces me that this community will argue about anything. What's next? Insidious is OP somehow?

Totems are harder to find than they've ever been. Maps have been reworked, totem appearance has been reworked, spawns are different, and with more indoor maps? Good luck finding totems on any of those indoor maps, even with perks to help you find them. Oh and Small Game? Nerfed.

Personally, I don't care about NOED. I think it's funny to see killers complain about Dead Hard being a second chance perk that rewards bad play and then defend NOED like their life depends on it.

If crossplay were restricted to just the platform you were on, you'd have to wait a lot longer to get a trial. Note that "console" is not a single platform, it's a term to describe a whole bunch of platforms.

Console players got those things too, and if the regular comments on the forum are anything to go by, console players are still playing the game.

Thank you for letting me know what "console" means! I'm too stupid to understand and I definitely asked you to explain it to me like I'm a particularly dim child. I'm aware that the game being crossplay helps with queue times, but that doesn't mean that it doesn't also give PC players the advantage, along with also giving them improved queue times as well. I don't see how your point about console players still playing this dogshit game has anything to do with the advantages PC players have against console players across most games, DBD included.

  • It seems like crossplay between PC and console always helps PC players. And in DBD, they got an extended event, extra shards and BP, because the game is broken on console. That makes sense.

My last 10 games survivors and killers keep dcing when they match isnt going their way and its causing my rank to somehow depip even tho i was doing something and not being idle. I dont know if its players crashing or purposely leaving the match so im not going to bother any longer until the penalties are back on the table. Thanks for the fun times Bhvr it was fun while it lasted and i truely hope your programmers get it fixed asap. Peace out

Okay. It's temporary and we all know it. Not sure why you felt this was necessary.

  • I don't know why people are still bothering to make posts complaining about DCs when it's temporary.

  • @MadLordJack said:

If you're nearby, it's almost definitely sandbagging. There's a slim chance it's that one pallet challenge, but it's probably sandbagging. Trying to get the killer to chase you so they can go wherever griefers go.

I am nearby, but it's literally right at the start of the game. They're instantly doing this. The killer isn't anywhere near us yet.

  • @Razorbeam said:

    Asserting dominance

    LOL

  • I think they're pretty painful with inexperienced survivors. It seems to be very easy to get into a three gen, and there are gens just in the middle of nowhere that people don't have the sense to do early on. I know killers hate the hooks spawns on those maps too, right? At least theres something for everyone to hate about Swamp maps. They're not indoor though, so I will happily take them.

  • @MojoTheFabulous said:

Could be that one challenge that requires you to pick up a pallet with the killer being close by.

I didn't even know there was a challenge for this. But even still, good god, this is not the way to go about doing that challenge. It hurts me sometimes to play this game as a solo survivors.

  • I have never understood why so many killers seem to only have fun it they get 4ks. I can play battle royales and not win a single game in hours and still have fun. In fact, that's usually what it's like for me playing BRs. It's just always been odd to me that DBD has a grey area and yet so many people see that as a loss. Survivors don't see every game where not all four survivors make it out as a loss and therefore not fun and not worth playing. I just do not get it.

But I am glad you're having fun regardless of how many kills you get. That's how I play killer as well. I play video games to have fun, and that's not contingent on winning.

Simple dead hard is unfair call me entitled but hitting someone with your hatchet hearing the splat noise but then they dont go down cause they pressed e you dont het the down. Dead hard is a crutch in all ways it rewards you for being injured and all you have to do is press e to escape. Lets say you play Myers you mindgame a survivor at a pallet your about to hit them but they dead hard into you and het the stun, now most people say wait it out now now Lets say the Myers waits hè gets stunned so hé had to go for the down, you all complain about slinger and spirit not having counter play but this is in the game and if all 4 survivors have dead hard wich at Red tanks is not uncommen you have no choice and it leads to bestond frustrating games anybody willing to debater me on this please do in open to my mind being changed

Dead Hard fails so often I cannot imagine what killers would do if the perk actually worked. And what about NOED? Talk about a crutch perk. LUL.

  • I don't know why every killer main has to have a 4k in order to have fun. I really just do not understand the mentality.

  • I have a good mix of survivor and killers DCing. It will probably come back whenever they stabilize the game on console, so maybe never, actually.

  • I like Billy's music. It's scary. Something bad is about to happen and it's fun. Clown is super creepy too.

  • @TragicSolitude said:

Consoles got really screwed here. I don't get the reasoning behind extending the event for the people who were already able to play the event in the first place. Like, what? The very people who they're trying to make it up to are the ones not benefiting.

And didn't the shards and extra BP go to everyone, not just the console players who are affected? Like, damn, PC players made out like bandits at our expense.

I'm not saying survivors shouldn't loop. I just don't have fun being looped for 5 gens. But who would?

Yeah, it's sometimes not fun when others are better than you are in a multiplayer game.

  • Sounds like a pretty typical day in the solo queue.

I haven't had one game today where my teammates seem to realize they should do gens. I just had a Ghostface on me for literally four minutes, while I was injured, and my three fully healed teammates didn't pop a single gen. It's honestly shocking to me how many people just do not do gens and assume the other three people will win the game for them. I am so god damn tired of 1v1ing the killer and then being left to die on my first hook.
