Aw yeah.

I kinda prefer the current No Way Out. It's a perk that slows the game down a bit after the last gen gets done, essentially giving the last gen extra time to complete.
I run it on Clown (without NOED) due to his horrible map pressure and it's actually saved me a couple times. (when I was unable to get a 4k)
I cooked up a buff for No Way Out a little while ago here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/250714/no-way-out-buff-idea

How much caffeine did you drink today

Bubba and Billy, by far.

Where am I saying I have secret big brain ways? I'm saying the chase would go 30 seconds tops if we both started at shack. That's...not great. Literally all I said was that the survivor made a lot of mistakes.
You can prove us wrong if you do the challenge with more distance in. The fella who did the challenge has big balls and admitted they were wrong about Spirit afterwards.
If you don't do the "mistakes" the Ace did, maybe you can prove us wrong. Also, Spirit's power make survivors make mistakes, just so you know.

I don't even think I disagree with him except on the semantics of counterplay. I'd be trying to prove a point he's not even trying to make.
If you run super early and stay healthy as long as possible, chases can last a minute. But he's explicitly stated that's not his idea of counterplay.
Starting at shack like that, 30-40 seconds tops.
Do it. C'mon, show the whole DBD community your secret big brain ways.
-
Can't wait to watch this lmao.
We're bout to see the biggest brain survivor (no offense to the challenge taker, respect to you for doing the challenge!) show us the true counterplay to Spirit.
-
I want to like Spirit tbh.
-
Me likey.

Oh dear lawd, I think I took a screenshot of that a week ago. Lemme find it.
Well, I found something else. A screenshot of a bug that I found on that same week, I believe.
Just wanted to share that. Anyways, where was I...
Yeah, I probably forgot to screenshot it. Oh well. Lamp.
Enjoy this terrifying image of an animation-locked Ace that was ######### around for a good while after they couldn't do #########.

I’m actually talking with someone about a lightweight anti cheat which would focus on server side implementation to allow suspicious activity to be flagged or even banned automatically. An example like being under the map, doing actions at a rate which would be impossible.
Interesting.
The thing is, being under the map can be caused by crappy internet or in-game bugs by complete accident.
-
Tinkerer is a tracking perk, Ruin & Pop are slowdown perks. I don't see the problem here.

She didn't disconnect! Actually she was the only one to live. Hatch with 2 gens left
Heh, that's pretty damn ironic of her lol.
-
Ah yes, Clown's new bottle, the Afterpiece Annihilator.
Any survivor that walks into its smoke instantly disconnects from the game. No questions asked.
-
DBD should just use their money to make their own anti-cheat, if possible. If not, then EAC will do, I guess.
EAC isn't actually that bad, people just found a way to bypass it, I guess. I really hope EAC does something about it.

What's the challenge rules?
Not sure, to be honest. @ScottJund

@Blueberry said:
Obviously nothing is going to change your mind but I disagree completely.
She has lots of counter play. Most survivors are just bad and don't understand how to play against a Spirit and instead just make up excuses. Spirit actually asks more skill of the survivors than most killers. She's one of the funnest killers to face as survivor for me. Much higher level mind games going on here than against most other killers.
If she has such little counter play why do I not have the same problems facing Spirit as you? Are all the rank 1 Spirits I've faced in over 7,000 hours just coincidentally bad? Unlikely.
You should do Scott Jund's Spirit counterplay challenge. If you can counter Spirit, maybe you can try countering his Spirit and just maybe I'll be convinced.

That is why I as a killer main despised the pallet bug. It gave us a glimpse of the immersed predrop hold W meta and those were some of my least enjoyable matches as killer.
Yeah I agree, the pallet bug made me play a lot less because of how boring it made games :/

I loves me Meg but what about her perks make her the best? I hear people say that Dead Hard is better than her spring (EDIT: "Sprint") and no one seems to say anything either way about her other two perks. I just give her perks from other characters and play as her for the pretty face and cute outfits. If anything I'd put Dwight and Bill at the top. Just my opinion though.
Completely agree with the bottom tier. I've seen that Quentin creep in like 1 game out of a thousand.
She has 2 powerful perks (Adrenaline and Sprint Burst) and 1 decent perk (Quick and Quiet). Adrenaline gives you a HUGE speed boost and an insta-heal once you complete the last gen/or the killer closes hatch to trigger the EGC before the last gen is done. Sprint Burst can be used during chases but it requires skill to do so. Other than that, it's still powerful because you can reach a window and make distance away from the killer. And finally, Quick & Quiet is really good for stealth, and is pretty solid against Spirit a bit. Plus, Q&Q has really good synergy with other perks, such as Dance With Me, Lithe, and Head On.
All of her perks are balanced yet solid at the same time.
-
I want DH changed, but I'm scared of the outcome of nerfing it. Like, what if it's the one perk that keeps the game's balance intact? What if the only thing people do after DH gets nerfed is predrop W or being immersed? I know there's lots of killers that can counter W meta, but y'know.
I'm probably just paranoid.

I think there is a difference between "defending" Spirit and saying she does have counter play. :) Do I think she could use a tweak? Yes. I think she should be the same speed as a Tier-1 Myers when not Haunting, i.e. 105%. I think that is the only change required to make her in line with the other effective Killers but knock her down from unchallenged top spot. I don't think this would destroy her efficacy because:
- I play Spooky Myers all the time and manage to get hits.
- She gets the lion's share of her hits coming out of Haunt anyway.
My view of her is that she is one of the most potent Killers in the game, but I disagree that she has no counter play. She does; it just isn't the style of play most Survivors want to use. :)
She has counterplay, but she doesn't have consistent counterplay.
The only people to fall for that counterplay are bad Spirits. And yeah I agree on that, Spirit being 105% could work. Maybe.
-
1. No more tier 2/3 for perks.
2. Dailies more rewarding, 30k > 60k for the basic ones. 60k > 90k for the mori ones. Limit the amount of dailies to 6.
3. Base-kit BBQ 100% bonus, but leave BBQ alone. Moar grind.
-
Spirit defenders be like "just run No Mither and Iron Will to cancel out Stridor lmaoooo"
-
This is actually not a bad idea.

I always find the complaints about Spirit weird. Only because when she was first released she was actually quite weak, to the point she needed a good buff. Now she is apparently too strong. I have to ask....what made her so weak at the start and what changed to make her so strong?
People wanted Spirit nerfed when her PTB released, and they didn't nerf her.
Either way, look at Blight. People thought he was dogshit, after he got buffed when he released people said that he was only "okay." A month later people realized he was actually really good, just took skill to play.

Tony is beginning to be agreeable very, very slowly. First he thought of the No Way Out buff, then he wants to play the game in a nice manner.
Anyways I agree.

The irony in your second post is amazing, considering that any survivor who played as you suggest in your first post would demonstrate the IQ of a potato. And also be slashed accordingly. Hilarious.
I'm afraid predropping pallets against particular killers such as Doctor is the right thing to do.
-
IMO Legion is one of the weakest killers in the game. I recommend running Enduring (a teachable Hillbilly perk) and Spirit Fury (a teachable Spirit perk) on them, or just Enduring because they're a basic M1 killer for downing survivors.
Also, respecting pallets (hesitating a pallet to avoid a stun) if they're unsafe is a very smart move. Just be careful to not fall for fakes, I guess.
And yeah, you're allowed to play whoever you want :) I like playing Trickster because I find him fun and love his laughs, even if people say "just play Huntress/Slinger." Or people not wanting you to play Spirit because she's stupid OP even if you find her fun, y'know.
I hope you get fairer matches eventually!
-
Good, Blight is fun to play as & against.
-
I should probably be a rank 7 survivor tbh, I'm not bad at surv but I'm not good either, just enough to get the job done.
Rank 6 for killer, probably? I'm pretty solid at killer so maybe 4.
-
Me (and others) trying to explain why Spirit's power isn't healthy for the game

I think it’s mainly because when someone is frustrated, it’s much easier to just vent and put the blame elsewhere than it is to analyse the situation and make sensible adjustments to one’s approach.
I can pretty much guarantee that most of the people complaining run around in the open, flee to dead zones, try to loop at small, unsafe pallets, and stay injured for far too long OR play TOO altruistically, generating no pressure at all and plenty of free hits and downs.
I just played a game as Wraith where people kept unhooking before I even had a chance to run to the nearest generator. I’d come back to the hook to find them healing under it, smack the healthy survivor, who’d then run to aimlessly in the opposite direction, allowing for a quick down and hook. This repeated until I had a 4K by 2 gens.
What they should have done is simply pressure gens, with 1 survivor breaking away for the rescue once I had engaged with someone else. Then they could have healed and continued to pressure gens while I hooked the other. I wouldn’t have been able to keep up.
Wraith's secret perk: Being able to moderately/considerably/tremendously decrease the survivors' IQ.
And yeah, I completely agree.

You have a lot of dead zones. A quarter of iron works behind the main building is usually just a huge dead zone for example and you have to finish some of those gens there since its a typical 3gen area. Decent loops on the other hand are pretty rare and you are forced to drop safe pallets immidiately while you are able to run them for 2 or 3 loops against most other killers. Short pallet loops against the new wraith are just a death sentence, since he can hit you with the speed boost and huge lunge regardless so there is no way to stun him and to get to a better spot. Your advice is kind and technically correct but most of the time quixotic.
Over all wraith is A tier now and Im pretty sure BHVR will notice this very soon after analysing his real game performance.
You can predrop unsafe pallets and vault over them to make Wraith hit the pallet instead. Also, decent loops are common af. LT walls are a great example for that. High-wall loops can be used as well, and especially shack. Wraith sucks at shack loop.
-
The ranged attack is completely original, I believe. The cages are reminiscent to Silent Hill.
Tbh I was kinda hoping Pyramid Head would be as slow as Nurse but have a pretty high skill ceiling, considerable mobility, and power at the same time, since he was like, REALLY slow in the games.
-
Endgame builds are really fun tbh, especially with the new Trickster perk, No Way Out.
-
@Yords said:
Since people seem to be crying about Wraith again.
I still don't understand how people don't know his counterplay, which is to not go in dead zones and to focus on decent loops that makes him vulnerable. He's so easy to counter yet people still don't know it.
LT loops and shack also hinder him.
-
Not enough time to get feedback in order to improve the update.
-
Anyone who thinks buffed Wraith is overpowered is either bad at the game or just new (no offense). When I was new to the game (late 2018), I thought old Bubba was broken. Yes, old Bubba. Not the one with 3 charges.
Please let this bandwagon die down already, it's actually getting annoying.

Maybe. But I hope not. It'll dampen the celebration for us console players.
It's not BHVR's fault they can't release PTBs on console. Best they could do is let their PC players test the PTB.
Also, all of the console players commenting on this thread don't care about it.

Most likely.

I still think this should be an option for custom games. Would be really cool.

Imagine nerfing slinger... What are they going to do? Add an overheat mechanic to his gun?
Deathslinger Changes
We noticed that people found the Deathslinger boring to play against and relatively strong. So today, we'll be introducing a few new changes for the Deathslinger:
- Aiming down sights for at least 3 seconds disables the Redeemer for 10 seconds. We thought this would be a good idea due to Deathslinger's ridiculous zoning potential.
I fear the day this happens.
-
You were funny at the start, but this is honestly starting to get boring. You should break character for once, judging by the fact you only respond to people who take your post seriously.

I’ve always had a problem with the parade gloves since no experienced clown is ever going to use them but newer clowns may become reliant on them.
Oh no, that add-on should not be base-kit at all. It removes Clown's ability to throw bottles over walls. It's good for beginner Clowns, although definitely not good for experienced Clowns.

S barely retained conscience as he began to open his eyes. his head and body still ached; S eyes made out a dim light in a dark dank room. His eyes widened as he felt his arms and legs were strapped together. He felt a strange ache around his jaw, as two sharp points were poking around his back cheeks. " Oh good our guest of honor!" A scraggly high voice vocalized. The individual turn around frantically looking for the voice, he then made out movement in the dark. Then from out of the shadow a figure came into view, the man stopped before his victim.
The man barely showed his face and made sure his top hat covered his eyes. But what from he could tell, the man was wearing a tail coat that had a crimson hint of color. Down the chest in a line formation colorful cotton balls that reached down the waist. " Wha, who-," "I know helluva surprise right, well its my specialty!" The high pitch voice squeaked. S stopped and tried to struggle out of the chair he was sitting in. " Look at you wiggle worm here let me help you." The man assisted as he pulled a odd looking object out of his pocket and pulled S to the floor; bonking his head in the process. " Ow, hey let me go who the ######### are you!" S screamed.
The man stopped and grabbed S's face still not showing his eyes. " Watch your mouth you ######### brat!" The man growled. The man stopped and tilted his head up, and S saw his eyes. Those eyes, they weren't human, they irises of the eyes, were a pale glowing white. The eyes seemed to illuminate the rest of the eyes and S saw a very heavy red color in the eyes around the irises. " Don't worry, I'm here to celebrate with you, come now, lets have FUN!" The man cackled as he dragged S down the dark hallway
Interesting. I wonder who S is? Eh, he's probably dead anyways.
Wait, is this page related to Pinebrook, or is it a teaser for something else?

I'm hoping for more options for custom games to make them true custom games. For example, the ability to disable pallets on the map, or structures, etc. The ability to start games with just 1 person, or more than 1 killer and more than 4 survivors.
Oh and also, updated menu UI!
-
Only opening exit gates. Survivors should be able to get healed by others without having their DS deactivated. Imagine a case where a killer tunnels a survivor that recently got unhooked and healed up, and DS fails to do its job to prevent tunneling there. Oh and they also ignored the other survivor (the unhooker).
