Disconnecting intentionally ruins the game for other people and before the system was added to the game, disconnecting was a really big issue and since the penalty has been introduced, it has gotten better. It's there for a reason and it's not going to be turned off.
And yet people still DC frequently the bans did little to fix it as people will just eat the ban or just get off for the day, and killing yourself is still a problem too and its not like DC penalty does anything for that either.

Realm reborn has made every realm its touched worse without exception, from a gameplay stand point, visually yes they were improved but I dont really care about visuals that much, art direction has always been far more important and even then that should always come second to gameplay and with the updates to maps its very clear visuals took the front seat, and I hate them because of it.
The updated maps to me just means "oh great what maps are the gonna make worse this time"
-
Just play, not really anyway to maximize at least not a realistic way.

That's completely fair, maybe give him a Huntress terror radius and the addons that drop his terror radius could instead drop his Huntress Radius instead. Which I don't think isn't too strong since you move at a snail's pace. But for him just shutting up survivors could very much go to Huntress as well, since an experienced Huntress just stops people rather quickly, much faster than Deathslinger. Only difference being is that if you break from his chain, while it does hurt you, it will never drop you.
Maybe tbh Death slinger is in a weird spot since I don't really think he needs nerfs but he definitely needs changes

At least Legion makes survivors waste time mending and slows the game down. Even if he doesn't get kills in the end, at least the game went on for longer and the Legion gets more BP's. Clown just gets f--cked straight away and gets nothing.
At least clown can be strong in chase

Solo survivors tend to not be as altruistic for starters. Without perks like Kindred being ran they have to guess whether someone is being saved. If I am 50% on a gen and it is your first hook - you can wait for me to finish the gen.
As for your chest scenario - never seen that happen.
Blaming the Tome is easy but flawed; as this is just normal survivor behavior.
As the saying goes kindred turns bots into teammates.
-
Tbh my biggest issue with him is his lack of terror radius, not sure who the big brain thonker at bhvr thought giving a ranged killer a smaller terror radius was a good idea and with monitor he shoot you from outside his terror radius which is just plain stupid. But I also agree that his actual lack of counter play when the killer has good aim isn't exactly fun to against in the same way that a good nurse or spirit isn't fun to go against, the difference is that most people agree that while strong Death slinger isn't OP.
All the top killers have some form of mobility and his blatant lack of it hurts him immensely, huntress at least has the possibility of cross mapping you but if he shoots you even at the max distance theirs a pretty good chance you will break out of the chain. He also doesn't have a particularly fast time to down which wouldn't be an issue if he wasn't 110 with no ability to move around the map. But still I'd say a lot of the frustration around Death slinger comes from the large amount of lose/lose situations he puts you in during chases which I'd say is fairly understandable.
Also I don't know why people always refer to youtubers and streamers like they're some sort of different species when referring to their opinions on anything like they aren't just people too. Chances are that if a streamer has an opinion they aren't alone. Sure they have a bigger base to share their opinion so it gets amplified but doesn't mean that all youtubers or streamers agree on even most things and I doubt that anybody over 16 bases all their gaming opinions on their favorite content creators opinions.

Not even in the slightest, the bugs and other issues that affect gameplay are all detractors, cosmetic bugs I dont care about but of course those are patched quickly.

Billy did get hundreds of complaints tho.
Yeah hundreds of complaints about why more killers weren't as well balanced as Billy maybe, I've been playing dbd for several years now and saw almost no complaints about billy before his nerf so please find me some of these hundreds of nerfs and I cant instantly pull up hundreds more complaining about his nerf

Yet I still see players camping basement throwing 1 shot hatchets right next to my forehead. Encouraging people not to use an OP add-on doesn't fix the problem that it's OP.
And again you can hit 1 survivor with iri head where as without it you can down more then twice as many so again I ask how is that OP, sure it takes less skill but its also way more punishing to miss, if she misses that 1 hatchet she's basically useless in chase sure if she hits then its a down but if it was against an injured survivor then it still would be better to have more hatchets. I'm not even arguing to buff iri heads I think its fine where it is even if I've added it to the pile of mostly useless iri addons. i just honestly dont see how anyone can say its OP and your answer did absolutely nothing to answer my question, huntress has always had one of the strongest basement games outside of killers like bubba or maybe demo with the right build, iri hatchet doesnt even really make it stronger either.

I tend to think that building them is too strong and would fundamentally alter the gameplay of the whole game.
So it's better for them to spawn there instead?
-
True I feel bad for the poster boy
-
No
-
Tbh I'd just prefer if the stats on it were more front loaded and or have a larger impact. You'd think that a perk that gain stacks from you losing your objectives would be a bit stronger, same thing with coup.

If the nerf didn't change anything at all, why did they introduce it? They can undo the changes and nothing would change if you look at the numbers, more people would simply bring it.
Killers didn't like that survivors could take a perk often so they complained
Killers don't slug as much anymore because of its nerf I know I don't, so its effective rate didn't go down because its actually defending against what it was supposed to, tunneling. You wont be hit by a 59 second DS after the survivor has been doing a gen for that whole time, it was a fair needed nerf and should 100% not be reversed.
-
no
-
Breakable walls should be something a survivor has to build themselves its dumb that they spawn there, makes any map they're on worse.
-
Welcome to DBD you must be new
-
Frustration usually, its still childish for sure but the reasoning isn't that deep.
-
BBQ has been the most picked perk in the game since it came out and they know why and they must know its not because its OP as its only received minor, pretty fair, nerfs since its release and they haven't touched in a very long time nor have they even mentioned it as being something they are looking into so I highly doubt it will get a nerf anytime soon.
If it does get nerfed though I will legit uninstall and I'm 100% serious on that. Unless the "nerf" is just them taking away its blood point factor and making it base kit, which it should be, then I don't care what they do with the perk since as a tracking perk its not my favorite any anybody but high mobility killers.

I believe that Blight is the best designed Killer in the game. His power is very strong but also very fair and offers up the survivor a lot of counterplay. His addons are also really strong and fun to use, and when your not constantly sliding off of stuff then he's in my opinion the most fun Killer to play as. I believe Oni is also one of the best designed in the game for the same reasons Blight is, fair and balanced counterplay but a strong power with good addons (except for scalped topknot, that addon is deserves a nerf.)
Now on the other hand there are a lot of badly designed Killers, some of which to note are Spirit, Nurse, Pig, Trickster, Legion, etc. The top 3 worst designed Killers in my opinion are Nurse, Spirit, and Trickster. Nurse ignores the basic fundamentals of the game like pallets and vaults and when the player using her masters her she is borderline uncounterable and there is nothing you can really do. Spirits power is awfully designed due to how little information the survivors have to work with which just ends up resulting in extremely unfun and unfair gameplay. Trickster has almost all the same issues as old legion (Power that is both simultaneously oppressive and extremely weak; can and will down a survivor no matter how good at the game; due to previous statements buffing his power directly can result in more issues.)
I would agree with Blight if he wasnt so buggy, but in his current state I cant say he's the "best" designed probably most fun though, I'd probably say that Oni is the current best designed killer. Worst currently is Twins IMO

Iri Head is still insanely overpowered I think personally it should only 1 shot someone if they are a certain distance away so you can't just walk right up to the survivor and throw a hatchet right in their face. Same with NOED a tiny speed decrease is not nerfing it it's just pretending like you give a ######### about what your community is telling you.
You get less value out of using iri head then no add ons mate how is that OP
-
Because BHVR doesn't want us getting too many bloodpoints, otherwise we might start enjoying the game.
-
Dont know and yes, he has way to much disparity in his addons of some being completely useless and others being straight up broken.
-
I love wraith, demo, bubba, and blight when he doesn't slide of everything in existence.

I don't think Hillbilly got nerfed to the ground but he's certainly less appealing than before. You are right about the fact that survivors do want Spirit gutted though.
The problem is Billy was a "fun" killer who was also very strong for most of his lifespan he was easily in the top 5 especially when add-ons were included, crack Billy was well...cracked, however when they added the overheat and changed his add-ons they removed a lot of the "fun" factor from him.
So even for people who ran him addonless as a kind of handicap to improve with his base kit and made every 4k just a little more satisfying. Remember Milly a term for a Billy who'd dare to use his M1 attack instead of chainsawing everything even when unnecessary, people did that because it was fun to do and now doing that gets you slapped in the face with a period of not being able to use your power because you committed the grave crime of....using your power.
And to add insult to injury almost all of his new addons were lame and not good.
-
Idk but its a tale as old as time and it's the sole reason I refuse to use totem under most circumstances.
-
keeping line of sight as best as possible as well as scratch marks and footsteps. does it make it more difficult to track? absolutely but that doesn't mean it doesn't have counters, plus you can also just play plague as when they are infected their retching sounds are not muffled in the slightest.
-
Maybe idk like others on pc my steam name changes all the time so even if I did it'd be hard to know for sure.
-
As others have said and just to pile onto it, they dont need buffs they need a massive rework, in their current form they are arguably one of the worst designed killers in DBD's history up there even with launch legion, maybe not PTB nurse though.

I'm not saying they shouldn't be forced to. I'm saying they should be more incentivized to stay in chase. A lot of these chases already have an injured survivor involved but for some reason they choose to abandon chase and go back to hook. I think slightly lower speed and quicker uncloak will nurture a more healthy game experience for all players. That's why this post isn't about nerfing. It's about balancing.
There are already plenty of great chase killers in the game wraith just isnt one of them he's meant to have a different playstyle that you can play into or not completely up to the person but if they wanted what is essentially a chase oriented wraith play spirit.
-
As others have said this is a problem with the people who play wraith not wraith himself. I play a lot of wraith and I think he's a ton of fun in chase getting to a loop then mind gaming with the survivor about which way I plan to use my lunge as well as faking out when I'm uncloaking or any other mind games. Not everyone plays like that nor should they be forced too.
-
I hope so because blight feels almost worse then before the update to his pov and collision, and I heard(and this might not be true) that his hitbox is at least somewhat based on his pov and since it was changed some objects have become more buggy and others have become less. Overall though he still needs a lot of work with his collision.

No because as long as they've started gens then the game is progressing if the killer can't find someone that's on him but what OP is saying makes more sense why should killers be allowed to down all survivors have them all near each other and not hook each one to end the match quicker. If the match can end quicker than it is why shouldn't the killer be classed as taking game hostage or at very least it should fall under exploiting a game mechanic.
The match is still progressing if a survivor is being slugged as it is progressing towards the killers objective which is to kill they are just choosing to go at a slower pace just a survivor who hides the whole game is choosing to play slower and more carefully.
-
I could care less about a killers design hell i'll play as a little girl if her power is fun, too bad legion isnt.

@Mandy said:
I think most players agree that being slugged for the entirety of their bleedout bar is not fun, and whilst I don't think the bleedout timer should be shortened, a concede option would be my solution. One that can only be activated under certain circumstances etc, so if 4 survivors are being slugged for example, the survivors could simply concede the game.
Wouldnt mind this also wouldnt mind a killer version of this
-
eh I'm good, I'm fine with survivors mostly just being skins with a few minor exceptions, like Claudette and Ace. Plus making each survivor affect the game differently would be a balancing nightmare in a game with an already shaky at best meta
-
@BioX said:
nope, its fully allowed, fun right? imagine if all killers just stared using this fully allowed tactic, never hook anyone, just down them and down them and leave them to bleed out....this game would die in a heartbeat if it wasnt for the good will of the players.
If you tried this against an even half decent team you would also lose 90% of your games so I think the game would die purely because if this is all people did they would just quit from never winning a match
-
@DecisiveDwight said:
I have asked this exact question and all you get is it's a tactic BS and Killers can't hold game hostage because the game will end when you bleed out. Personally I think it needs to be made reportable the killer can end match instantly but is choosing to slow down game time and not do his objectives this I would say is holding a match hostage
So then by this logic should hiding be made reportable, its slowing the game down when the survivor could just be doing a gen, and I dont wanna hear any of that legit tactics BS.
-
No amount of slugging has ever and will hopefully never be bannable.

simple fix: escaping through the exit gate guarantees a safety pip
If you did nothing towards your objective you probably shouldn't even safety pip I could see maybe making your boldness emblem worth more towards pipping but I don't think the Claudette who was blending the whole game and did not even half a gen or interact with the killer at all and escaped by being carried should even safety pip.

PROLOGUE
I had an idea a while back to add an exhaustion mechanic to killers, similar to how survivors have theirs own. Wanted to quickly share this and see where it goes, if anywhere at all. 😁
General Idea
The goal is to make major cool-down perks cause exhaustion to the killer, but the perk is much more powerful and convenient to use.
Killers can decide which perk will take priority over other exhaustion perks before and during the trial with select buttons; they can also deactivate / reactivate their exhaustion perks to pick when they want to use it unlike survivors.
Long Exhaustion PerksCoup De Grace
Upon lunging, gain the following bonuses:
- 50% Increased Lunge Speed
- 50% Increased Lunge Duration
After lunging with Coup De Grace is active, become exhausted for
90/75/60seconds.Coup De Grace cannot be used while exhausted.
Dark Devotion
Attacking the Obsession will transfer your terror radius to the Obsession, making you undetectable, until you perform another offensive action.
After attacking a survivor while Dark Devotion is active, become exhausted for
90/75/60seconds.Coup De Grace cannot be used while exhausted.
Starstruck
While carrying a survivor, all survivors become exposed based on their distance to you up to a maximum of 60 seconds.
After hooking or releasing the carried survivor while Starstruck is active, become exhausted for
90/75/60seconds.Starstruck cannot be used while exhausted.
Short Exhaustion PerksTerritorial Imperative
Performing any of the following actions:
- Hooking a survivor
- Damaging a generator
- Damaging a pallet
- Breaking a wall
- Searching a locker
Will mark the location at where you performed that action at (you cannot see the marked location). There's no limit on how many locations can be marked.
Any survivor that comes within 8 meters to any marked location will have their aura revealed for 4 seconds followed by an audible warning.
After reading the survivor's aura while Territorial Imperative is active, become exhausted for
40/35/30seconds.Territorial Imperative cannot be used to read auras while exhausted.
EPLOGUE
Please leave me some feedback below, just know I could do this to a lot of perks but these should be enough to give an idea.
Remember, don't freak out, I don't calm to be perfect with ideas... So that's why I need more perspectives to make things work. I don't plan on wanting this to be added to the game, it's just something I thought would make cool-down perks less annoying to use and add more depth gameplay. 😁
The only one that'd be weird is the starstruck one but other then that it would certainly make those perks more fun

One thing - camping does not always mean you depipped. That is a myth Survivors perpetuate to make themselves feel better. You can camp while not sitting on top of the hook and still patrol gens and win chases while you guard that hook. It just takes effort, luck and the right Killer and Perks.
if you are patrolling and taking chases that's not camping, you can proxy camp I guess but if survivors are doing it right that's even easier to counter the normal tent and smores camping. Don't muddle the definition and move the goal post.
