  • It makes his overall flow feel very frustrating, like you are being punished for actually using his power to hit someone 3 times

  • Its overly sensitive and if they are gonna have it, there at least needs to be an opt out option

Sounds like releasing them as individual bits was an error that they quickly fixed. Again, it's licensed content so Capcom probably dictated they be sets.

And that wasn't OP's problem anyway. They're mad that a completely optional, fully cosmetic purchase doesn't meet their quality standard. Apparently BHVR is scum for that.

Unless bhvr says so I have no intent on giving them the benefit of the doubt, I find it way more likely that its a sales motivated move then a licensing thing.

  • Am I high or does OP not understand what game balance is? They start off by saying that they aren't talking about normal tunneling but throwing the game to kill 1 survivor tunneling then says that there is no repercussion for doing this, is throwing the game not punishment enough? what do you want bhvr to do? perma ban them for tunneling someone?

  • Yeah its pretty scummy not gonna lie, with some of the cosmetics that make major changes to the body like the minotaur or krampus skins I can see why they need to be linked but for a lot of the skins in the game that are linked its very obvious its just to force you to buy the whole set instead of just a piece that you want.

It actually very much should stay invisible.

That way the players have no chance of being able to reverse engineer the system. Nothing good happens when players are able to do that.

It should very much so be visible. I for one have almost zero faith that bhvr will actually make a decent mmr system and if it just stays as invisible numbers in the backend that players have no way of seeing then it could honestly still be based off of ranks and we wouldn't even know it. MMR is already gonna make the game sweatier on average why not at least let me see where I stand in the grand scheme of the player base so I can have at least some feeling of progressing.

Why do people act as though Franklin's consistently destroyed items? Survivors aren't going to let their key disappear without a fight, it was easy to make sure it wasn't lost.

Yeah and it created a bait situation that forced survivors to make a decision to either lose the key or face the killer on their own terms, now at least with keys they can just leave it there and as long as they remember where it was they can just come back when its convenient

They’re Zombies. They’re brain dead. You can’t expect them to behave intelligently.

I'd be fine with them just mindlessly chasing survivors I just find it annoying when they get bad spawn rng or get stuck

  • Overall somewhat disappointing tbh, but with a few tweaks I think he could be in a great spot. His tentacle strike shouldnt give a sprint burst when only infecting or make it so that survivors can spread the infection somehow. Adding another zombie depending on the map would also be good since on maps like say mothers dwelling they are beyond useless where as on a map like say hawkins or lerys they may actually get a few hits or waste a few pallets.

Other then that I think his tentacle strike is fine, has good enough range while having some cool gimmicks and the zombies are neat but for the most part poorly implemented since surprise surprise they are buggy as hell and get stuck all the time, like at least once every other map or sometimes multiple times in a single match. If you could at least somewhat control like just getting them to move to rough area of where you want them or something so that its not just complete rng whether they'll spawn and patrol in actually relevant areas of the map.

  • Tbh I didn't even open the lore tab and I don't really care or even see why anybody cares

  • Frustrating tbh, I find in many situations it not worth giving survivors a free speed burst to initially infect them while gaining basically no pressure from the interaction, and the zombies are equally frustrating being either completely useless the whole match to at most making a couple chases easier and unless you're indoors they are almost never gonna get a hit.

  • Currently dead hard is acting even more weird then normal so i'd say SB

  • It's close between wraith and Billy for me but at least wraith has some pretty cool cosmetics where as Billy's aren't amazing

  • Nah its terrible haha please dont use it

  • I know self care is meme'd to high hell as a 5th killer perk but that's just because a lot noobs dont know how or when to use it, if used correctly and well timed it can be a fairly strong perk.

Because most people can't accept to lose. They can't process the fact that however they want to play, their mmr will rate them accordingly and put them in matches were they'l, win some and lose some. They want to win when they're sweating and they want to win when they chill. And if you want to only win when you chill, then you're not really chilling. You literally want easy games.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2270305#Comment_2270305

    ^case in point.

Sorry for not wanting to lose all the time without sweating, I can accept a loss but if thats all im getting its not fun challenging games can be fun but thats not all I want

  • he has an addon that removes his terror radius while rushing and could absolutely see a bug happening where it just forgets to bring it back.

Better solution for 2.: just restart the game

My computer also weirdly crashes in the loading screen every time someone uses a Haddonfield or game offering

  • I think so, he's the poster boy and the first killer so I'd prefer if the original chase music is stays on him.

  • @humanbeing1704 said:

lmao how is gen tapping an issue? Does old ruin exist still? Are you playing a old version of dbd?

It just makes no sense to kick a gen in most situations as killer because of it. Killer time should generally be about 4 times more valuable as a single survivors yet it takes like 2 seconds to kick a gen and it cause it to start its regression where as it takes like what a frame or 2 to stop it, just makes kicks even worse then it already is.

  • Tbf overcharge sucks so even if a nerfed version was made base kit lets be honest it wouldn't affect that many situations

Tiers are pretty good with certain perks. You don’t always want them T3. Sometimes I use Spies from the Shadows and I’ll keep it T2 (28M). Just enough to detect them when they’re trying to hide within my TR out my PoV. The crows give them away often if you pressure them to hide near them. Another one is MYC. Sometimes you want it T1 to refresh faster. I usually keep it T2 for a good 50 seconds. I feel 60 is too long. I’ll catch them and then have to wait for a cooldown.

Honestly I'd argue that with the changed discordance there is never a reason not to have tiers removed even with your spies argument you are still getting less information out of that perk then if you were to level it. Not to mention all the perks that are much worse at tier 1 compared to tier 3 like whispers where until you get to tier 3 its not even worth using. Perk tiers are an antiquated feature that's been long overdue for a change

  • Good question hopefully soon but I doubt it

  • Switching to a better killer hurhurhur. But like honestly

  • Billy getting overheat removed and blight having his collision fixed properly. Other then that I hope they rework Shadowborn and MoA and change FOV into a setting as it should have been since the beginning.

  • gameplay wise every console is at disadvantage compared to PC more so killer but even on survivor its easier to look behind while in a chase and make proper decisions on PC compared to on console. Not to mention performance being an issue on most consoles

  • For the most part but its not the be all end all tbh

Maybe its not fun for you. I happen to enjoy it and a lot of other people do too.

So you like being slugged and tunneled or having survivors pre drop every pallet while survivors just hold M1 on a gen. The meta in this game is super f'ing lame.

If they are playing chill then technically they will never reach a point that requires sweat.

You can play chill and still win at least somewhat consistently if you are just good at the game with sbmm if you continue wanting to win you will have to play more sweaty or just continuously going on streaks of losing and winning. There is a reason that actually competitive games have casual and ranked playlists.

  • @Zozzy said:

So BHVR posted a thing about the mmr test on twitter and there is post after post of

    "we don't want it"

    "scrap mmr"

    "mmr will kill the game"

The thing is nobody ever says why.

So i ask why will MMR / SBMM "kill the game" Why is it "bad" ?

If that is the only things you've seen then you didnt even look to see what peoples arguments are.

    1. People have little faith that bhvr will actually be able to make a proper mmr system.
    2. IF they do make a proper system then if you want to win you will have to play consistently more and more sweaty and frankly the meta in this game is really f'ing boring to many, on both sides.
    3. Many would prefer to have what is essentially a casual and ranked playlist if they do plan to implement it where the mmr only works in ranked so that they could at least still play the more laid back casual experience that people like in the current state of the game.
    4. If you are gonna implement an mmr why not have ranks associated with it instead of some magic number in the sky determining your rating with a rank you at least know generally where you are compared to the rest of the player base as well as giving the player at least some sense of improving
    5. Perk and killer diversity will shrink most likely very drastically, more so at higher mmr scores or ranks or whatever, lower ranks will have more of the weaker killers and perks as well as mostly solo queues where as higher ranks will be filled with the meta killers with their meta builds and swfs with their own meta perks and tactics

Those are the most popular ones from the top of my head and with every one of these tests they hold people have had the same or similar feedback to them and have gotten little to no clarifications on many important aspects of how they plan to roll this out, but that seems to be the mantra of BHVR if they don't communicate what we plan to do then nobody can have expectations and I know why they do this but it creates a massively frustrating situation

How does one “game” MMR? By playing better? Knowing how MMR works isn’t going to affect your actual performance.

By having several trials of consistently playing worse for a string of easier games you don't deserve.

You can already do this though its very easy to throw a game as killer, with sbmm it will probably be easier to do actually since you can throw games to get into lower ranks but with how pipping works it will take a long ass time where as with sbmm you'll fall at a far more consistent rate then with the current system

  • I disagree they are basically a breakable god window and I find them to be far more annoying then just a normal pallet since they almost always lead to losing the chase.

I don’t entirely hate his new addd ons in fact I like some of them like the muffler, brick, lopro chains and the mother’s helpers

But then there’s some like black grease which is completely in the survivors control to make work and the big buckle which has a mediocre effect after you mess up about 4 chainsaws or purposely go around the map like 3 times

I found stealth Billy to be far more of a meme then anything and not a very fun one personally and found mothers helper to not be worth getting stunned to proc the effect. Not too mention drift king which was the only addons I used consistently before his nerf are dead because of overheat. Tuned carburetor is just an awful addon as well then obviously the 4 or so addons that affect his overheat are all dumb because the mechanic itself is dumb but the effectiveness of the addons compared to their rarity is also skewed with the brown addons being the best singular one he has, and the yellow being the best after that.

The whole rework was just not well executed, just seems like they knew they needed to nerf insta saw and crack Billy but then everything else they changed was just because they wanted to and for pretty much no other reason.

The roar is fine imo. It fits his character but the real issue is his new chainsaw sound. It becomes ear grating at high overheat levels but doesn’t serve any gameplay function since I can literally see my chainsaw on fire

I find both insanely annoying and it getting more high pitched is probably more annoying and its dumb. Honestly hated everything the changed about his base kit, nothing outside of his terror radius and nerfing some of his addons, was an actual improvement and the addons he did get are mostly just bad or boring. Lopro chains are cool though.

  • Not great, don't get me wrong the current system isn't great but a "perfect" mmr would make playing killer too stressful, ngl getting stomped or stomping someone else is almost like a break from having those actually even matches but in a "perfect" mmr those games would be very rare unless you just go in with the intention to lose, but that's lame.

  • @Phasmamain said:

He’s still fundamentally the same but his animations definitely need a change

I'd far prefer a revert on his overheat then animation changes though if I could have my cake and eat it too i'd have both. ALSO PLEASE REMOVE THE ROAR

  • The twins need a full rework imo, they cant be too strong as they are since they basically have to play in such an unfun way.

I'm telling you the same thing that I have said to Yamaoka, position Hillbilly next to Ghostface who in all aspects is inferior to Hillbilly, it seems excessive to me.

Not saying I would place him there but I'm just saying that he has fallen in rankings because of weaker killers getting stronger as well as more strong killers being released and he has fallen in rank and I don't think its too much to say. People have absolutely gone a little too far in saying that he's now even in the bottom half of killers but I would argue he's not even in the top 10 or maybe taking that 10th spot

  • From their perspectives they probably see it as more grind means more hours they play. In practice i know several people who quit the game because of the grind so idk if they ever plan to continue fixing the grind but I sure as ######### hope so

And simply by nerfing his addons and adding an overheat mechanic to his base kit he went from being one of the best killers to a Tier C killer? Tier C killer is basically being one of the worst killers. I just don't understand how that can happen.

The problem is that even Hillbilly without the instasaw addons was incredible, for its infinite mobility, infinite oneshot ability, fast turns on loops, etc.

You also have to remember a lot of the weaker killers are getting buffed like wraith and leatherface so that would affect his placements as well. That being said I still think he's a good killer but not top tier like he used to be especially if you take how strong a killer is with their best addons billy just doesnt stand up as much as he used too.

How would that help with the spawning situation even? It doesn't matter if I see them if they still spawn separate on gens.

It doesnt but it helps you deal with it, doesnt get rid of the original problem but like every other major problem the game has BHVR likes to throw a perk at it and say "done".

  • I aint gonna read that but cool if I'd agree or nah if I'd disagree

  • if they plan to put in an mmr they need a separate queue for it to be used in and show you what your mmr is then a casual playlist that has far looser bracket mixing. At the least if I'm being given an mmr score I at least want to know what it is.

  • @GeneralV said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2260737#Comment_2260737

Well, I think he still is A-Tier as he always was, just in the bottom of said tier. An expert Billy can still manage to control a match, even with his new limitations.

An expert any killer can control most of their games, not trying to say billy is bad either, im honestly still unsure of where to put him. I'd say that if addons are taken into account on both sides billy loses to more killers then if we just consider base kit since he really only has lopro chains for good addons

  • i'd say it'd be pretty fair if for instance the requirments to surrender is that a dc must have occured then a vote can be started and if the last 3 agree the survivors safety pip and the killer pips. I'd also be totally cool with an option for killers to surrender as well but obviously would need some different parameters for being able to surrender

You see that’s another thing. Legion completely circumnavigate the survivor’s defenses which is windows and pallets. So Legion can’t be that strong since they completely circumnavigate the survivors only defenses or we’re going to get old Legion again, which was quite literally the definition of no counterplay.

Legion already gets free hits on survivors in frenzy. Frenzy can’t be that powerful because there’s really nothing the survivor can do to avoid getting stabbed. If Legion were to be more powerful, then they need a complete overhaul/rework.

Yeah, that's essentially his largest issue and is why unless he gets a complete overhaul he will never be satisfying to play or play against. His power is in such a weird position that if you make it too strong it becomes overbearing and if it becomes even just a little bit weaker it becomes mostly useless and in some cases a detriment. Especially against survivors who are comfortable being injured the whole game he straight up becomes the worse killer in the game.
