i mostly play freddy and some times blight but freddy gets so much salt from players especially from low ranks 1-10 for me its the doctor that really bugs me but at the end i still wont cry to the killer for using a annoying killer he isnt op or anything

Freddy was pretty hated despite his weaknesses at launch because of the aura reading.

Now he's hated for being extremely dull to play against. Although thats mainly a player problem. Freddys basekit is mostly fine, its players that go out of their way to just troll survivors with stacked slowdown perks/add ons that are the reason hes hated so much.

I primarily play on PS4, but I just got the new Xbox series X, and the last thing I want to do is pay and grind for all of my purchased content all over again.

I know it's easier said than done, but please BHVR make this happen!

Don't forget PC! I moved from Xbox and I need it so bad. The grind is so much worse than it was when I started its absurd.

  • Seeing her icon up there with all the old characters looks so out of place.

  • Someones been watching a certain brummie streamer me thinks. No offense but these would make the game significantly less enjoyable. Killer is easy enough right now.

  • I played him quite a bit when he came out and enjoyed him for a short while.

As a killer - I got bored of him pretty quickly, much like Pyramid Head. I think the lack of back and forth between the survivor and the killer is what turned me off of them. Practically guaranteed hits aren't fun nor challenging to me. I don't feel like I've achieved anything when the survivor couldn't have possibly juked my shot as its so fast even an AI would be limited by the survivors chunky hitbox. You can do some cool shots like inbetween trees on farm loops or the holes in the shack wall but I will probably never touch him again outside of killer rotations.

As a survivor - I absolutely abhor playing against him as I know that unless I get lucky and theres a nearby LOS breaker and an undropped pallet then I'm practically screwed. Even if there is a pallet an it might not save me as the shot is unreactable below 12 meters. It's not as bad as Spirit who just turns the entire chase mechanic into a joke (awful, awfully made killer) but its close.

He's a strong chaser with no map mobility so you have no choice but to genrush him which is extremely boring.

Then theres the fact that literally every Slingerr, much like Pp heads all play the same.

Same perks same strategy. Sneak in for that first hit and immediatley shoot.

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

Let's not forget that it also prevents a survivor from leaving the game like a Pig trap.

    That does nothing.

Hit them? They fall into the exit and escape.

Let them remove Victor? They escape. It's worthless without some sort of 5 second buffer after being hit to stop them from insta-ecsaping.

I hate how all new graphically updated maps now are extremely dark forcing me to play on low setting just to see slightly better.

What's up with the idea that all updated maps must be super dark that you hardly see anything. Do I really need to instal external programs to fix this seriously.

I love aesthetics of new maps but they're JUST TOO DAMM DARK. It wasn't like this before halloween update but since then I just hate lightning on all new maps that don't have direct light sources including new azarov's maps. Luckily ormond is full of snow making that map bearable but some places I still notice that it's much darker then it was before.

I wish things just went back so that I can see where I'm even going. But that is probably too much to ask.

I just had a game on the Autohaven map with the mechanic shop. Someone used a purple mist thickener (mist is black on that map now for some reason) and I literally could not see two feet in front of me. It's awful. Same with Yamaoka and Badham

  • I got really excited to use it a few minutes ago when I got downed in a pallet. only to realise when picked up that I didn't have flip flop and no killer with more than 10 hours in this game is walking through a pallet when carrying a survivor.

  • To be fair he's more an underdeveloped human thats been reanimated into a demon goblin. Their backstory seems to imply that victor was at least 10 or more years old.

  • It would still require you to get to 60-70% struggle. The problem with flip flop is that it isn't 1:1

It should be 1:1 but cap at the 50% mark

  • Her icon is next to Davids which looks so old and crappy.

  • As cool as it is having Micheal Ghostface, etc in this game I'll always prefer the OC chapters. Way more freedom with what they can do with the designs/powers.

Little disappointed at 2 chapters in a row without a new map though.

  • Davids a tough guy. If you wanted to have a character shown to protect or distract the killer hes the go to. I mean his perks are entirely based around distracting the killer from chases and absorbing hits.

Charms in their current state serve no real purpose other than showing off rift or tome completion, most charms are too small to see on survivors and some glow slightly, disadvantaging stealth.

If charms are going to be kept in the game, they should be more thematic and not used to fill rift slots, there are so many bits of character lore and in-game assets that can be used to make cute little trinkets, but no one wants a circle with a picture on it you can't see.

Charms need to be better to incentivize the rift grind, right now, they're useless and a waste of time that could better be used flushing out the new map reworks or cosmetics.

I dislike how they all hang off these lazy looking hooks on every map hook.

They should have given them more unique placements on the different hooks. They look tacky and lazt. Not the charms themselves. Just the way they're lazily slapped onto all the hook models the exact same way.

As the title states, who do you think has the worst addons?

Outside of his faster teleport add ons I'd say Demo.

He has those absolutely worthless add ons that increase his stealth by 0.5-1 full seconds. Worthless considering there's a GLOBAL teleport sound and his footsteps can be heard from the other side of the planet.

  • At the very least you knew where they all were I guess.

But yeah that perk is actual [gonna assume I can't use this word here at risk of getting banned].

  • Its not good, at all. I feel like it could be like Blueberry said or instead trigger when a survivor fixes a regressing generator or something.

  • I assume Frank would probably have 90's Alt rock. Nirvana or early Foo Fighters, maybe some Grunge like Hole or the Smashing Pumpkins. Their more edgy stuff. I feel like it makes sense going by his attitude towards life and going by Julie's tome.

Joey's mixtape iirc says something about distortion so maybe some heavy psychadelic rock

Julie I'm not sure. Probably similar to Franks

    Susie? Most likely pop music.

Forgot to add. I'm assuming they were grab from the early to mid 90s by their's and Jeffs story.

Hag is definitely hard to pickup if you don't play trapp daddy.

    Hey, that reminds me:

I know Trapper isn't on your list, but he can definitely preform at high ranks if you practice enough! I take any excuse to tell people to play him.

But to stay on topic, here's some info that works for hag (and trapper?) that will help you in the beginning of learning:

Never try to evenly place traps across the map, most will get wasted or be useless to you. Don't go for a 3-gen (because that's an easy wrench to throw in your plans), but instead cover a portion of the map that is easiest to control. Playing these killers will result in quick gens lost, their power is meant for snowballing and catching people off-guard. As hag, always place a trap near a hooked survivor and stay within teleport range. DO NOT CAMP, otherwise your throwing away pressure on everything else in the trial, not to mention wasting your trap. Instead, pressure the closest survivor to the hook/important gen/your web of traps.

This is not the end-all for learning hag, you'll get to a point where you know when not to place traps on hook, how to make a 'web', etc. I would recommend checking out Otzdarva's videos for a different, more in depth, explanation that is done well. This goes with every killer also!

Hoping to get back to trapper once I've got enough bloodpoints. I do love him but without my early game slowdown (corrupt) or at least a brown bag I find it impossible to have my setup ready before the first 2 gens.

  • Freddy is more of less a basic M1 killer with an insane amount of utility so I'd go with him. I'd be prepared for lots of DCs though, especially in low ranks as he isn't exactly the most enjoyable or satisfying killer to go against.

  • We'll know in a few hours.

Since the new Killer is most likely a female, and most female Killers are slower, do you think the new Killer will be 110% (4.4m/s) or 115% (4.6m/s)?

I personally think the Killer will be 110%, just because Killers with movement speed like this have more spicy powers.

I feel like the 115% killers tend to have more interesting powers, or at least they;re the ones I end up enjoying more long term. The 110% are usually stronger due to them having mobility or anti-loop based abilities but they tend to bore me pretty quickly (Slinger, Hag, Spirit).

As long as they're fun I'm cool with any killer really.

Survivors just get whooped on. I play red ranks as a rank 1-3 survivor and it’s seriously the most consistent experience where everyone just dies even in high rank play. Survivors just don’t get the gens done in the majority of my games. I think it all boils down to just how easy it is to find survivors in this game given the available perks and abilities given to the killers. It doesn’t help that some of these maps are insanely small. It really makes me wonder if the devs are paying attention to win loss ratio for each side and balancing it accordingly. The least they can do is make it fun to die like Friday 13th. It’s not fun to do gens or die in this game but rather boring and frustrating.

I'm not a god looper by any means but I knw how when I should be doing gens or going for saves/distracting the killer.

The problem is the vast, vast majority of red rank survivors have either been carried by SWF and can't hold their own. Or they're boosted by VSing bad killers up until that point.

  • It's something they're "looking into".

Just like Cross saves, reworking Freddy and reworking Clown.

So you should have them in about 3 years.

  • Pretty sure that's straight up the same model. Pretty cool though. I'd be lying if I said that despite my love for DBD I'd love a proper NOES or LF game.

  • I had a solo match against a PH on Midwich and it was a one sided slaughter.

    He was rank 12.

I was 1, so was a felix. And the other 2 were purple.

Why the hell were we going up against a clearly still new killer?

  • I just started using it on an altruism build and remembered why I stopped. Instead of brainlessly throwing it out I was waiting for the killer to lunge and despite inputting at the start of their animation I ended up Exhausted on the floor multiple times. Hope that new version built for the servers comes soon.

  • I certainly hope so. Blight not getting his own map was a pretty big disappointment to me.

If a killer has NOED that means for the entire game they're running three perks. When I ran it, it was because I was new to the game. Once I had enough perks, I replaced it with something I could actually use for the entire match. Another reason killers may run it is to counter 3 v 1 saves during the end game. Once you see NOED on the screen, survivors are more likely to rethink any heroics during the end game. That's why I recommend Soul Guard. Killers usually slug with NOED because they're in a rush to protect the totem, any hooked survivors and clearing the exit gates. This gives you ample time to get back up (this time with endurance) and cause more chaos.

This. Same with people that complain about Adrenaline on survivors.

Sam, because her with a very rare skin that's just her towel would be ######### hilarious to me.

Emily, because she's the only one with common sense in that game.

Jess, because she's a queen who deserved more screen time.

Mike because, I mean he's kinda hot doe 😳

Matt because I like his character

Chris because I feel like he could have some genuinely interesting perks

Josh for the same reason as Chris

Basically anyone except Ashley. I still hate how she just... Locked the door.

But I wouldn't complain about any of them. Emily is still top pick though.

That's what you get for not simping for the best girl.

it's literally the speed that she moves which is what matters, as a killer main you should know this, any other killer you have a chance to get to a loop, spirits speed stops this, not to mention if she starts phasing while behind a corner and she still hears you it doesn't matter how easy it is for other killers because she's on you fast.

This, I know I'm playing against a Spirit if the first hit happens literally 6 to 8 seconds before the down.

Also, that walk back over your marks method will literally only work against a week one Spirit (repsonding to the other post not yours DW). That's terrible advice against any good Spirit. The majority of long time Spirit players play with their volume so jacked up that they'll hear your footsteps even with Iron Will and no Stridor. And a good Spirit won't keep phasing if the scratch marks stop. They'll immediately stop and continue the chase while their power regens in 6 seconds.

  • Mike. Everyone thought he was gonna be a meathead chad and he turned out to be the best character in the game.

They'll all probably look weird though because they all used facial/motion capture and I doubt they'll get the likenesses.

The problem is once the cycle of toxicity begins, it becomes borderline impossible to stop. Most of the time people are toxic because they themselves have been treated that way. It's like a plague that spreads.

It's impossible to help everyone not go down that path. The best thing you can do is stop yourself from going down that road and pray that just like toxicity, your positivity will spread. For some, it's easier just to give in than follow the hard path. For those people we don't react with toxicity. We move on and try to understand that there's a reason they are acting that way. Not excuse them for their behaviour, but just understand there's most likely a reason they're acting like an ass hat. And remember one thing, we've all most likely fallen down that rabbit hole before.

    This

Chances are 90% of those games where you get tunneled and ebony mori'd two minutes in were because the killer had a really tilting game or trolling SWF last game and is taking out some rage on other players who did no wrong.

Who in turn bring a BNP or Instaheal and DS/Unbreakable next game because they're sick of this happening.

Heck, I used to do this myself until I saw a video about it and realised how dumb it is.

I still play to win but I don't go out of my way to ruin someones experience (even if it feels like some survivors are getting off doing it to me sometimes). My golden rule is that as long as the player hasn't sandbagged teammates/farmed teammates/ or done something blatantly trying to troll me I'll never hook them twice in a row.

I hate the button mashing especially with the current bug where it decides to just not count your struggles and kill you anyway. A skill check system would fix this so easily

  • @JesterClown said:

Pretty self explanatory title. We talk alot about how dbd should add a casual mode. Entirely agree with the idea. But do you guys think survivors will stop playing sweaty builds. Cause from all ranks there are sweaty/ trying too hard survivors that run the usual suspects, ya know, ds, dh, adrenaline etc, in ranks that they would have no reason to run those builds in. I wanna believe survs will run something like detectives hunch or healing builds but from my experience I lack faith in survivors creativity.

Are we still complaining about meta builds for survivor when 95% of killers are running Ruin/undying/Tinkerer/BBQ on literally every killer right now?

I think including adrenaline alongside DS or Unbreakable is silly as those perks reward failure and Adrenaline rewards good gameplay.

  • Gotta say, Legion, Billy and Trapper are a lot higher than expected.

I'll assume that was before the Billy rework for most of them as I barely see him anymore. I actually expected Spirit and Freddy to be top.

Also, poor Demo. He's a great killer when played right but no one wants to put the time in.

Survivor at the exit gate thinking they have time to pick up their item after the first hit: Priceless.

You don't know comedy until the Meg you've just hit who decides its better to clicky clicky her flashlight at you instead of use her speed boost properly realises a little too late you're at 8 STBFL tokens.

  • I've seen a bunch of streamers use them. Some use audio programs that boost survivor/killer noises.

AFAIK the devs don't seem to care that much even though they removed Brightness offerings because they wanted more control over visual map balance.

In all fairness a few streamers I've asked about the visual stuff have just done it to make the game look prettier. I'm more concerned about stretched screen players as that actually has a bigger hit on how chases can play out.

  • Ugh. I still have just the Billy killer ones left and I dunno if I can be bothered. I lost interest in Billy years ago and recent attempts to play him have gone badly due to his weird movement (and I know I'm not alone in thinking they messed with his movement). The headbob also irritates me.

That and I find the chainsaw almost impossible to control on PC. Even with using Q and E to steer and lowering the key sensitivity. It's just too insanely sensitive compared to controller.

You talk about an all Kate swf and then you say you regularly get hit with DS after hooking 1 or 2 people?

You must be the most unlucky killer EVER. Getting a meme swf that use the same skins is very rare, so I'm not sure how it's a "regular" thing for you.

My guess is that you're more likely tunneling regularly and that's why you're getting hit with DS so much.

An overzealous SWF that immediatley runs in with borrowtime or borrowed time immunity can often mess you up just due to the sheer chaos of it. I remember having a survivor slugged, one on the hook and one on my shoulder and all it took was 1 DS from someone I don't even remember hooking into borrowed time for all 3 to be up and free. And then a dead hard lost me a vital chase and the game. I don't get tilted much at this game much anymore. But boy did I feel like I got unfairly shafted that game.

  • I will say, to bring a bit of positivity. One of my favorite survivor moments ever was because of Franklins. This was a long time ago, probably shortly after LFs release on Wreckers Yard.

I saw a Nea with a flashlight get smacked by Leather face on a hill. I ran up to grab her flashlight as she got downed, hopped down with BL, got the blind and as we both escaped I dropped it for her at the gate.

  • Despite being a lot better at the game/looping than I used to be. Micheal is still pretty terrifying when I pan my camera and see him watching me or appearing out of nowhere round a corner. All my memories of crazy tense moments in my early days in SWF with friends are of getting the gate to 99 as the last guy alive and seeing micheal just watching me.

It's when the chase starts that he kinda becomes a joke.

  • @Traciiee_1974 said:

Crawl away yes. I do, who doesn't? But to keep crawling and not heal at all? Ive stopped working on gens to heal, they've not moved since I've seen them stop but havent healed themselves at all. Who's going down if the killer comes back healing his ass. Me!! It's selfish play. If you've not bothered and just keep on crawling I'll move on too

You'd be amazed. I've had players without DS active cancel heals continuously while down. Stay downed in the basement and not crawl or recover (I assume they've just given up), get downed by a hook in a failed unhook attempt and just stay at the hook (probably the one time where its actually a bad idea to not crawl). It's crazy. I think some survivors just aren't used to it as slugging doesnt happen much in low ranks. so when they get to purple/red ranks where slugging can be a requirement against good teams they don't know what to do with themselves when downed.

I've actually been throwing Ash's buckle up on recently as I think its quite good when paired with WGLF altruism/sabo builds when you force the killer to drop and chase.

I do really wish they had given the enhanced downed healing to Buckle Up, though. It doesn't make much sense on WGLF as thats one of the few actions that won't give you a token.

  • You guys must not play much against killers with headphones if the crawling away out of sight thing actually works for you.

  • I get that they want a visual representation that shes in Corrupt mode but I wish they'd tone down the intensity of the red flame thing. She looks like a radio tower on most open maps.

Also I like Plague but have they fixed her vomit just straight up not connecting? I thought it was just me but I played against one 2 weeks or so ago and very clearly saw the vomit phase through me in several different chases.

  • Only one I've ever played against is Morf when I was Blight on Hawkins. I won and was pretty chuffed until I realised he was solo and 2 of his teammates were clearly out of their depth and panic dropping pallets.

  • Are the snow footsteps new? Or did I just never notice them before.

And no, they absolutely will not ban you for this. They don't ban without video evidence, and any video evidence they could provide for that would either be insufficient to warrant a ban or obviously prove your innocence.

I got accused of cheating for a Flip-Flop escape pretty recently. I think just like Soul Guard its relative rareness means that when a killer gets duped by it they're just confused. I've only ever been Flip-Flopped once and to be honest I had to give the player props for even running it over unbreakable or DS.
