The Twins issue is that the survivor controls the power, not the killer.

Everything about them is unique but the power's counter is very damaging to Charlotte

This. I want killers like Blight/Demogorgon or Oni/Billy. Where the killer is fully in control of themself [at least old Billy :'(] but the survivor still has options of counter play. My problem with Spirit/Deathslinger was that it always felt liek 100/0 instead of say 60/40 to killer like most of them.

The Twins is 10/90 to survivors. I was really hoping we were on track for another masterpiece like Blight, I was extremely disappointed with Pyramid Head and Deathslinger. Alas, all good things must come too an end. I hope they can make her more enjoyable to play.

We've seen this before with Plague and guess what? No one plays her. Outside of Nurse 9for obvious reasons) Plague had the lowest pick rate in recent stats.

  • I actually see a surprising number of really, really good killers say they hate Nurse.

Even Zubatlel, probably one of the best killers in DBD, and one of the best Nurse players hates Nurse and thinks her design is stupid and terrible.

Personally I'm neutral. I've tried getting into Nurse but I don't find her ignore everything playstyle enjoyable. Landing a long blink is very satisfying but not enough for me to put up with everything else.

omg you cant say killer is easy, the forums will be in an uproar. you better off them a full team of 4 console survivors for them to easy 4k or else they'll hunt you down for ridiculing their power role.

I try to be impartial despite being primarily a killer as I think its the only way you can see the bigger picture of balance in DBD. Not to sound preachy or pretentious as there's a lot of people on here that feel the same. Mainly the users who have been here from the start. There's also a few content creators like ScottJund or Otzdarva that despite playing killer have very educated opinions on balance and the long term health of this game.

Of course, when you don't join the killer/survivor victimhood hivemind you'll often get accused of being a salty [insert player role here] main.

Sure there are things that are frustrating as killer, but try playing solo survivor and seeing it from the other side sometimes.

For example, Freddy or Deathslinger might feel weak when you get mulched by a red rank 4 man SWF and you want them buffed. But play against them in a 4 man solo and see how 'weak' they really are then. (This is what made me stop using slowdown builds on Freddy. Seriously its up there with Stridor Spirit as the worse experience in DBD).

Likewise, you might not think DS/UB is a big deal when you use it solo, because it isn't, but go up against a sweat squad running them and see how much fun you're having then.

Just because he does well after putting thousands of hours into Pig it doesn't mean she's good.

I see this as a fundamental skills situation, where he knows how to play tiles so well he could play any killer and do well. He could probably pick any M1 killer and do amazingly. I mean, this is the guy with (apparently) the most sacrifices in the entirety of DBD. He's very good. But give him Ghostface or Wraith or a similar killer and he could probably do just as well if not better.

Maybe. But I find his powers are an inferior version of other Killers. He's a bit of an all-rounder, but that means everything about him is weaker.

He's definitely a more conservative killer. I've had the most luck playing him like Trapper or Hag. Just locking down one section of the map with 3-5 nearby gens all linked with activated portals and just patrolling and not being baited away. It's surprisingly strong.

  • A while back there was a glitch that let you hear survivors faint screams from across the map when they got injured, killers swings too.

Its the same thing I complain with Demo about too a certain degree, but it really made things tense I thought. Made it feel like you were still involved even if you were on a gen miles away.

The only thing she needs is to make It so that survivors cant leave the trial with a jigsaw box on their head. Which is not hard to do for the devs considering Victors power allows the Twins to have that advantage.

Victors power isn't really like Pigs old one. You can stand at the gate and get hit OR remove Victor and instantly escape. It doesn't trap you in the trial with a potential death sentence like Pigs masks used to.

Woah!! Plague is top tier in my opinion, especially against players that cleanse 24/7

There's an unfortuanate truth in your statement. Good players won't cleanse unless they absolutely have too. Without Corrupt plague has no chase power, meaning she has to go get it. And if the survivors can juke you or just decide to stay far apart and tank it/not panic cleanse you now have no power for the rest of the match.

It's the same with the new killer.

I do like Plague but I feel like I have to run chaser perks just to stand a chance.

  • There's no way of knowing what platform someones on short of a killer doing ten quick rotations in the space of a second due to high mouse sensitivity.

No offense, it could just be that you're being hooked first and they're trying to get you out of the game after seeing you again. Maybe they see you as the weak link and the other survivors are able to lose him more in chases.

I think pig is my favorite killer unfortunately she’s just so weak it hurts to play her it seems the saw licensing holders are willing to work with bhvr so why haven’t we gotten a rework? Or buffs yet? And here’s a important question..when the pigs map gets reworked will we see her get changed ? At least a addon pass with a few buffs

Don't worry. The Twins may take that prize. That said its a shame to see how many indirect nerfs pigs slowdown has had with the EGC.

It does seem like the majority of pigs I play against nowadays, while rare, are pretty good killers to start with so they do pretty decently as Pig.

I'd say she's a better stealth killer than Micheal and Wraith thats for sure.

As mentioned on my opening post, this could potentially be managed through test builds on each platform before the live release. This method would allow for testing before making the build live.

Yeah, I get that. But the PTB is already extremely buggy. Expanding that with 2 or 3 more versions would get more feed back sure, but would probably be exrtemely poorly optimised and even more buggy. Plus, most players play the PTB for a day or two and then go back to live. It wouldn't be worth the time or effort.

It would be cool for console players. But I highly, highly doubt it'll ever happen. It'd be a waste of resources.

  • Not much point now that we have the Twins unless you want another Ghostface situation.

I can only see it happening if he used Voodoo to pick up/grab survivors. Adding Tiffany with a doll Chucky would be way too similar.

And even then, you'd be shorter than Blight. And Blight already has trouble seeing over benches and boxes.

Hear me out. I know people find the term genrush as a meme or not a thing but when I chase one person and 3 gens fly, I think that's genrushing.

But why do it? Yeah you escape and do all your objectives but dang, me as a killer, I barely got to play. All genrushing does is get you out the game faster. Why even play at that point?

Because there isn't much else to do if the killer isn't pressuring properly. What you want them to run around aimlessly and give free hits? Survivors have an objective just as you have yours, infact they have even more optional things than you do as killer. Chests, sabotage or flashlight saves, totems.

If the killer is playing well then they'll have unhooks to go for, heals to go for, maybe the killer procs Devour or has Undying so now they have a sub-objective to go for.

  • Bro they can't even get a solid 30 on consoles. How the hell are they gonna manage to seperate versions of the game.

Y'all are just haters. Blight and The Twins aren't unique enough for you? If you want killers that are that drastically different, you'll have to find them on another game!

No one is saying they aren't unique. In fact I haven't seen a single person call the concept bad. It's really cool.

It's just absurdly weak to the point where even the fun aspects of the killer are being overshadowed during gameplay.

I never got that argument since hit detection goes way beyond just its ranged elements. Hits through pallets inconsistent animation ranges. Sure it has improved but for every nonesense huntress hit there are just as many demo gorgon lunge hits or freddy strikes, vault hits that shouldnt connect.

Understanding the actual hitbox on characters is important since as we all know character models do not share the same look but there hitboxes are all the same. Certain killers ranges goes beyond the animated range demonstrated. Hit register is not as snappy as other games and that down to the games humble foundations.

Even grabs are hilariously inconsistent sometimes straight locking a player into a permanent grab lock if the bug arises. No I don't buy the range hits are aggregious because the game was not built for it. I'd argue its foundations in terms of how hits register and are animated in general leaves a lot to be desired.

Freddys has always been the most egregious for sure. Ghostface is another culprit. you can often drop a pallet before his hand is even raised and still get hit even with low ping.

And grabs, don't get me started on grabs since dedicated servers.

That's pretty much it, no one I know plays dbd anymore so I'm announcing this here. Anyone else made the switch?

Still not really interested in Nurse. Outside of Blight mobility based killers have never really stuck with me.

I think shes a lot harder to play than she was before The Game came out.

Now aiming up or down can affect the range aswell as the charge, always had trouble with it.

I don't understand this argument at all. What did u do before undying came? Are you saying it was impossible to win a match? Cause that's just nonsense.

I used corrupt and pop. Because outside of the top tier killers or playing against survivors who don't know how to loop, the first hook would almost always take 1 or more gens.

I've said this before, I'll say it again - I feel like a lot of the "genrush" problems would be at least somewhat solved if base regression was worth it. The fact that survivors can just tap a gen to stop it regressing is a huge problem, at least imo. I'm not saying it needs to be Ruin levels, but it needs to be more.

Heck, if base regression were better survivors would be able to stop complaining about Ruin/Undying/Pop because only the sweatiest "I must win" killers would still use it. Most of us want to try using other perks with other killers but matches are over in 5 minutes if we do.

  • Yeah. Its why I've always found kicking gens over immediately chasing the survivor worthless. I remember a long time back asking in a Q and A stream if base regression would ever increase even just by 25-50% and they said no.

For those that don't know, base gen regression is 0.25 charges per second. Survivors repair at 1 charge per second. So if you were able to kick a complete gen it would take 320 seconds to regress fully.

Hence why killers like Demogorgon, Blight, Oni, Billy and a few others are the most enjoyable and respectable killers.

Because they're fair and not ''easy-mode''

I actually picked up Demo after starting on PC as he was unplayable framerate wise on console.. And he's extremely fun. Takes a bit of set up and Corrupt feels like a must but hes a fun killer I can do decently with in red ranks without the dull ass ruin/undying combo. Oddly enough I find Billy unplayable with PC controsl whereas on console I felt extremely powerful as him.

Blight is also the best killer they've added in a long, long time. From both a power design and game health perspective. I don't feel cheated or lost when hes using his power and downs me.

I was hoping we on the right track for the next killer but so far they look extroardinarily weak which is a shame as I love the concept.

Omega Blink Nurse was too fast. Current Nurse has enough tells for you to predict her blink to react to depending on distance. Of course her fast close range blinks are still deadly fast, but it's more about trying to avoid such situations.

This is true. Too many survivors wait for the killer to be close by before running. If you watch good survivors outside of trading a hit to complete a gen they'll usually start running to the farthest possible loop they can make it to before the chase starts proper to stop the killer from also pressuring the gen aswell as significantly lengthening the chase.

Too many survivors get greedy with their gen repairs.

  • I want an outfit where Victor has a top hat and cane.

  • It's not. If you managed to both trigger it and stay off the hook until the end game then you played smart. The killer might feel cheated but Deliverance has been around for a while, and if they were concerned they could have just made sure they at least 1 hook everyone.

Hate I subsist of the hate the salt feeds my ego and fill me with the pleasure of having performed so well that a person goes out of there way to complain and moan.

If you think dadslinger has no counterplay you need to pick up an fps and get use to movemet and cover mechanics this is the core of dadslingers weakness. Basic looping dosent work and understanding what loops work and what dont is paramount to survival.

The fact he get more hate then spirit or hag is baffling to me. Then again being outplayed and crushed by an opppnent who can predict your movement line up there shots correctly. Maybe it should come as no suprise.

The vast majority of FPS don't have the crazy large/inaccurate hitboxes that DBD has. The devs have even commented themselves that DBD wasnt designed for ranged killers and the hitboxes reflect that. Heck, look at Huntress' hatchet hitbox. I wager a fair number of Huntress players coast by purely on the inconsistency between the hatchet size and actual hitbox. Not even including latency muddying the hit detection further.

he and the nurse take to most skill to play i am a csgo player (global elite) so my awp skill translate really well to him so i get shots easy af

I don't know how in gods name you got to the conclusion that DS is on the same level as Nurse. I would argue the fact that DSs shot is unreactable at most ranges reduces his skill ceiling, as the little counterplay (if any) survivors have means that the DS player has to put way less thought into their shot then, say, a Huntress or a Nurse blink. They have to take into account the survivor dodging with the travel time and account for it. Deathslinger doesn't outside of his max range.

Also, anyone can aim at the survivors ass and get the hit 100% of the time if they know how the survivors hitboxes lean when running left and right.

Heck, he came out when I used to be on console and even on a controller with no aim assist I was hitting 95% of my DS shots even through windows or inbetween trees.

  • I don't remember people getting this angry at the Botchling in Witcher 3. And that was way more obviously supposed to be a baby.

  • I mentioned this yesterday. He's like a cross over of basket case and this episode.

  • If you follow the chase and mess up you just wasted a lot of gen time and the killer now has a bear on you so its no wonder so many people dont bother anymore outside of pallet blinds.

To be fair I used to be really good with a flashlight but after the pickup speed change I never really learned the new timing. Nowadays I just use ones I find in chests and get the blind off about 50% of the time.

Its too risky for a solo player.

What's your dream chapter? Doesn't matter how unrealistic it is or maybe it's something that's already in the game but you wish it was done another way. It doesn't have to be a full chapter, if you don't think it requires a survivor or a killer etc.

For me personally, my dream chapter will always be Alien. My favorite horror movie has always been contested between Halloween and Alien, and since Myers was the first licensed chapter, I now seek out the mind numbing possibility of playing as the xenomorph like in the 2010 AVP game. Other chapters that would put me into cardiac arrest include: The Shining, The Thing, and Candyman.

Oh also... A Robert Englund Freddy skin would be great thx <3

Crystal Lake with 'The Curse of Crystal Late' and Tommy Jarvis (preferably the one from P6 as thats my favorite).

If we all stop playing killers becouse they are being turned in an unbalanced mess, you will get a taste of your own medicine by waiting 40m in queue to find someone who likes:

    -Being mindlessly looped;

    -Being mindlessly genrushed;

    -Being mindlessly trolled;

But wait, I think no one likes this treatment so goodbye.

I mean, as much as I see lot of people complain about it, proper looping does require at least some level of alertness, knowledge of lunge distance and being able to call a killer doing a red stain mindgame or not. Not super high mechanical skill but at least some against a good killer. If you're being "mindlessly" looped that sounds like you're just following the loop and getting ######### on then complaining about it.

Also I have no idea what you mean by that first paragraph. Nurse is still far and away the best killer in DBD by a significant margin. The nerf was unnceccesary but it didn't hurt good Nurses who didnt need the crutch extra blinks at all.

  • @TruthIsThere said:

They will just follow the stats on PTB and of course people dcing and first hook die its boosting killer.

We maybe see a nerf for the killer.

This. My first 4 or so matches as survivor had several people hooked in the basement at a time because they just kept walking right into Victor and not trying to kick him when he missed.

The locker thing is a major issue and I doubt it'll be rectified by launch. They'd need new animations and such and we have less than a month till launch. There's also the lockdown which I assume is also hampering them a bit.

Also did you guys notice that even if you successfully hit as Victor you still enter the stun state? So a nearby survivor can insta kick you and start reviving.

  • @AnnoyingNarrator said:

The Nurse is a great example of how to not make a killer, but because she is bad, but because she is overpowered and is the best killer without a doubt. If you can use her.

As anyone who has gone against one can tell you, a god nurse will destroy you regardless of what you do. Meanwhile, a newer nurse player is as scary as a pillow case. The first problem with Nurse's design is that is forces you to use her power, as she moves too slowly to catch up to survivors normally. This means for newer players, you are out of luck, especially with the lack of a practice mode to learn her power.

The second problem is the lack of counter play. If you are out in the open and you see a good nurse coming at you, you are going to get hit. A good point of comparison is Demogorgon's shred, as both let each killer close the gap quickly and get a hit off. However, while a good Demo's shred can be dodged as it is rather predictable, the nurse can pull of some crazy shenanigans to make it impossible to predict her. My personal experience with this was letting a survivor vault to trigger "I'm all ears", teleporting to the basement, before popping back up to hit them. There was no way for the survivor I was facing to predict my movement, which left the survivor getting rather stabbed.

So how do you fix these problems? I am not sure if you can or even need to. I think Nurse is weird spot. She is clearly broken, but the amount of skill needed to make her broken is so high that almost everyone, even myself, are fine with her almost limitless skill ceiling.

In the end, I think Nurse is fine where she currently is. She is broken, but only a select few can take advantage of its true power. But please, BHVR, for the love of the entity, do not make another killer like the Nurse. It is already hard enough to learn/play against the Nurse, I don't need another killer with a similar design to make the game even more broken. I mean at the very least they have not added a killer with a similar power that is also very broken but ten times easier to use- oh wait.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/0UVLW17BU4J2/spirt-potrait.png

This girl. This girl right here. They tried solving the issue of a high skill floor, and did not realize why it was there in the first place. Spirit was designed to be similar to nurse, but they did not realize that nurse was more powerful than any other killer, and, I personally think, that they underestimated just how powerful Spirit was as well.

I have been dancing around what exactly the design behind nurse was, but I will state it what it is now. A very powerful ability, but with a heavy cost any time you use it. But there is always a way to negate the cost. A Nurse that does not miss never has to deal with the stun, and a spirit can just run stridor. This design always fails because it ignores a core part of Dead By Daylight, adaption. If it can be abused, it will be abused. Players will always find a way to cover their weakness and that is just a fact. Luckily, BHVR has seem to have learned from their mistakes and have avoided using this model for any new killer, but just give them time. They will try to make another killer like them, and we will have to suffer once again.

I do think for casual play ( anything outside of those Hexy tournaments) Nurse is completely unnecessary so I have little respect for power tripping pubstomper Nurses.

That said the game kind of needs her for that level. An good and I mean GOOD team will still ######### all over a great Nurse even if the chases themselves are very short, even with all her meta perks as they just have too many second chances.

And, yeah. Agreed on Spirit. Don't get me wrong I like playing her, but I think she is actually extremely unfun and unfair to play against. At least with Nurse I know shes teleporting towards me. Spirit just makes me not want to play the game anymore. Especially the goddamn Corrupt, Undying, Ruin Spirits I keep getting who are power tripping on solo queue. You don't even NEED slowdown on Spirit.

I'm glad the trend of anti-fun killers we got for a while seemed to go away with Blight but The Twins are leaving a lot to be desired despite their power actually being really fun to play against.

I still think that Victor able to be kidnapped, and that survivor is still free to loop as normal because they can still use vaults and pallets is an oversight, but I can see that there is potential for some crafty stuck that can be done with The Twins.

Even though the Jockey comparisons are already everywhere I still think it should affect your movement in some way. Right now if you're half decent in a chase you can literally just keep Victor on you the entire match and the killer has no power. And it won't affect your chasing abilities in any way at all outside of red stain mindgames.
