I should really start to think about how me bringing Iri heads and one shotting everyone affects the people who don't even live anywhere near me huh? yea no. Not gonna happen, if i wanna play scummy i play scummy, if you don't like it. Block me on MLGA.
(This is a slight rant i don't usually even bring this stuff in, but after getting told to kms numerous time and being made fun of, i am at the point now where i just don't give a damn anymore.)
With that mentality, you can't complain when people go try hard on survivor and bring BNP, Insta-Heals, etc.

Yeah, Quinten DC'd when I found him in a locker on his death hook, and Claudette DC'd because there were 5 gens left and she was alone.
Oh, I'm sorry. That's poor sportsmanship. I don't DC, even when I don't have any hope left. Feels unfair to the other side if they played the game well. Though I'll say they have to do something about smurfs/bullies as it isn't skill to pick on newbie killers. It's a joke.

That's basically the same thing as that. It's a sweaty loadout.playing survivor is just easy mode by default
You're forgetting that survivors rely on teammates and RNG. It's not easy mode; it's just different from killer.
It can be relaxed or tense and you're unlikely to ever get as many points as you will on killer (unless you like camp or tunnel someone in their element). You saying survivor is easy mode is like me saying killer is easy mode 'cause there's upside to playing by yourself (killer) and with a team (survivor) and downsides for both, as well.

This is very helpful! Thank you.

Unbreakable is a super strong perk can totally change and save a game for survivors. There is a reason why it's only one-time-use and why you have to "sacrifice" a perk slot for it.If a medkit could let you use the Unbreakable effect that would simply be unbalanced.
Also, it would probably lead to killers not leaving survivors with medkits on the ground (similar to No Mither users) and/or killers dodging lobbies if they see medkits.Bottom line: It would not bring more fun to the game.
They already dodge lobbies they don't feel like entering. They're more likely to bring franky's honestly.
-
@t3hp0larbear Well, the issue is still that it's against the rules, whether it's in poor taste or not. How'd you get into a situation where you were getting moried after a minute of the game btw? When you play killer, you get basically the same thing. I had a duo teabagging 'cause I hadn't caught them. I killed the other two, but they still thought it was a win, I guess. One of those newb bullying types, too. What can you do? It sucks to lose, but it happens.
Leaving the character in game and allowing you to leave early from a death may be interesting, but I dunno what the implications of that would be.

Actually pretty typical sweaty swf behavior.
I got in a lobby where I was the highest and I was solo. Not sure how that happened.

I play Kate 'cause I like both her story and her looks.

There's people who'll still run circles around you in the higher ranks. They're the people de-ranking/smurfing to bully newbies.

That needs to be take to twitch and not the DBD forums. Most sites don't allow such language.

All I see when DH is typed it dead hard lol. Hex: Dead Hard sounds kinda funny.
Why shouldn't there be a notification? An injured survivor is still a hit and it notifies you of a hit that could 1 down you. -
Generally I'd rather sacrifice myself if it meant the other person could live.

So why can't i camp them for abusing looping the same building?, I know its boring but looping is the same thing so...
They're just being a poor sport. If they kept returning to a strong loop spot, they should have expected a camp.

but yeah, I think people not trying to help each other off the hook to genrush the final gens and leave is more common than snitching. Or maybe its just on PS4How many times people haven't come for me is maddening, I swear. It's just as bad on PC. Why I attempt to avoid going down as no one can go "is anyone going for the hook?" Maybe Kindred would help, but I can't be asked to bring a perk that's only good for when I'm on a hook as I'm unlikely to get off in a timely manner or may even be farmed. I'd rather stay off the hook.

@t3hp0larbear I've had people d/c and the killer went onto the next person immediately after 'cause they were either trying to block or something like that.In all honesty, in most cases like this the survivor team has no idea what they're doing, and frankly they deserve it.
I'm no sandbagger, but altruism in DbD has its time and place. When I'm downed like 2 meters from a hook and at least two of the others on my team are camping out just to try and bodyblock or rescue me from the hook mere seconds after a hook (like the killer won't just turn around and tunnel down a freshly rescued survivor anyway), frankly, my disconnect isn't going to be the cause of a loss.
My "rules" for when I feel it's appropriate to D/C aren't hard, fast, and followed strictly, it's a general guideline I have for myself. It depends on the situation.
Whether they "deserve" it or not, rage quitting is against the rules. I can understand if someone has no other option (game being hold hostage) or their internet is just crap, but DCing because someone outplayed you or because you don't want to deal with something is in poor taste for many reasons.
I can understand that it's annoying to come across farming individuals and people who sandbag. I've come across both and played out the match, regardless. It's poor sportsmanship to DC like that and will often screw over everyone else on the team, be it at the beginning and in the middle. Besides, if you d/c the second you think someone's doing something, they may have had a trick up their sleeve or may not have done it on purpose. Which isn't against the rules.
DCing in reaction to a misunderstanding is just a crappy reaction, anyway, and doing so because you don't like your team is even crappier.

I think it'd just get abused as it's currently done with MLGA and lobby dodging and human nature being what it is people would get tempted to abuse it. You've also got the issue with confirmation bias and negative feedback with memories. You tend to remember the bad games and not the good games more so say you have a really bad game but the next isn't. You'll probably remember that game as being bad and thus want to block people who you think were toxic.
It's worth giving it a try, though, to see if that would indeed be the case. I usually see the bad game as bad and a good game as good. I think you're thinking of how people are more likely to remember the bad than the good. So, you'll have 9 good matches, but 1 who's toxic and teabagging and stuff and that's the only thing you think of. If it does negatively impact lobbies, we can take it off, but there's no way to tell if it'd actually be abused if we weren't to give it a try and I highly doubt it'd affect players who don't mark anyone or mark very few as a dodge. Maybe even have it an automatic thing where you don't go into lobbies with people you mark as red that way it doesn't mess up a lobby. I would think that would be doable. Otherwise if it's a killer, just boot the survivor and if it's survivor, boot the survivor.

Glad to see I am not the only one who sandbags friends.

@ChesterTheMolester I don't think that many would actually use it like that, but to avoid toxic people. I think only the ones you would want to avoid would use it like that. The ones who flame in end chat.@powerbats They have an issue with that due to people being able to see other's IP. I'm sure there's a way to incorporate in in-game system based on profiles rather than IP, which wouldn't be as dangerous.
Well then you'd still be doding based upon someone the same as ip only much more accurate at that point and while some would use it to legitimately avoid toxic players on both sides. It'd get abused by some on both sides just as they do with MLGA now due to getting outplayed by either side, outfits, items etc.
I'd think it'd only really affect the people blocking the lobbies (if they go block happy). If someone's sensable with how they block, they're likely not to see any affect and the opposing people are likely to not see an affect, either. Regardless, maybe they could test it for a period of time and see how it plays out? It may help with the toxicity of the game.

The best way to rage quit is to get chased with some good distance between you and the killer. With the killer able to see you; jump into a locker and leave the game.

Yeah, it's funny when they do that. xD

Yeah as @Causticwit75 said if you notice them running you around, switch off of them and come back to them later. Those kinds of things truly are a mind game, though. So I just had a game on MacMillian. The map with the two story house in the middle, cant remember the exact name. I did the generator upstairs, came down stairs, heard the killer coming so I hid in a nearby locker. A Meg I was playing with saw me but the killer didnt, but she stopped mid chase to point at the locker I was in before going down. Naturally the killer checked the locker she pointed at and I was hooked, then the other 2 went down after while I was hanging and she was slugged and we were all screwed.Seriously why do other people do this? I could've saved her when he left her on the ground or unhooked her safely. This was pretty much right at the start of the match. But no apparently she was pissed because I didn't stand there like an idiot while she ran into the room with the killer right behind her. This just reminds me why I hate playing solo and not SWF tbh.
This has obviously happened to others so how do you deal with other survivors "betraying" you? Or worse, actively working with the killer?
If you're uninjured, you really shouldn't be hiding in lockers. It's two hits (or chainsaw/insta-down) while out, but you have an opportunity to loop and run while out. If you're in a locker and he guesses the right one, that's it. Given the situation (he was chasing someone down and probably had tunnel vision), it would be better to run out when you saw them approaching or heard the heartbeat. I'm guessing your vision wasn't obstructed due to you reacting by getting into a locker. It's always good to know where the killer is and what they're doing, though.
As I don't usually hide in lockers, I don't usually have issues with people doing that stuff, but I have had people farm me from time to time. A Claudette in end game actually admitted to just trying to farm everyone and kill them off, though thankfully the killer was nice and didn't tunnel off of hook. Another time, a Jake was doing the same. It makes the games so short. -w- Gives very little points, too.
@junkevil How do you avoid SWF?

I ended up picking it up during the last sale! Working on putting it on the killers I currently have.

Who cares? This game shouldn't even have Rank anyways. This game is nowhere near competitive. You can tell a difference between the ranks, though. You'll know if you're facing a rank 15~20 vs a rank 5~10 for instance.
-
I think intentional de-ranking via suicide or d/c is bad. It ruins the experience for everyone else. I was bored for a time and basically just ran sabbo, a map and cleansed totems. If I wasn't safety pipping, I was losing a pip 'cause I wasn't really doing much else otherwise. I also ran leader so that I wasn't completely useless to the team lol. I think the match making system would improve if it had larger blocks. For instance, 1-5, 5-10, 5-15, and 15-20. That way you'll get more variety with what you face. I also think it would be helpful to have a penalty for leaving the game via d/c and to figure out a way to detect the cheat people are using to reset their ranks 'cause that's clearly not fair.
-
@ShyN3ko According to the rules, stream sniping isn't against them, too. He shouldn't be hiding in lockers. xD lol Maybe he didn't know what BBQ and Chill was? I'll dodge any legacy in my lobbies 'cause I'm rank 15~20 and those really shouldn't be in the newbie ranks. >> I had a couple of games where the twitchy was really solid and didn't do stuff to sabotage the team, but it just feels rare.

Yeah, I get it quite a bit on both. I'm a baby killer, but I get d/cs when I play certain characters or in reaction to stuff. Like a DS girl d/ced when I downed her. Just amazing how the toxic SWF people are toxic to the randoms, too.

-
Typically I run Bond, Iron Will, Balanced Landing/Spine Chill, Leader/Quick and Quiet
Do those count as meta builds? I've heard some people call Bond a really good perk, but I think they're all rather random. Bond helps a lot when play solo so you know where people are. Iron Will is also quite nice for keeping quiet and avoiding the killer while hurt.

What's "Smurf"?Someone who plays at a rank they're not supposed to be (often by buying the game again/making a new account). So, you would get people who have been playing for a long time going to newbie ranks and picking on the people who don't know exactly what they're doing.
-
I have 700+ hours on survivor and only dabble on killer.
Something more should be done to punish people deranking and smurfing to pick on newbies, I agree. Like a 10/20/40 minute wait if they dc, etc.
-
Thank you for keeping us updated!
-
@scorpio My point isn't really that they should stop and make it against the rules, but it should be less beneficial to do. I understand some times call for camping like when the gens go by to quick or at end gate to secure a kill (edit: or when people are swarming hook). I even understand camping in the basement. I just think it should be more of a weighted option, though. Like you're giving up something to make a point or to make an easy "win". Do you pip when/if you camp? I don't believe killers typically get a lot of BP, but I may be wrong.
I understand that it is sometimes used to punish or because the circumstance calls for it, but I've been told by campers/tunnelers that it's an easy pip and that's why they do it and something so easy shouldn't be rewarding especially if it ruins the experience for another.
-
@Vietfox No worries. c:
@VolantConch1719 I had a match where a twitchy was going around, farming people. Just generally pretty bad. Not all of them, of course. Just have noticed a bit of a pattern.
