I would like to know where the "Cannot report survivors for" list is, cause this is all things to report killers, but from what I've seen, the devs are HEAVILY killer sided, and let almost any reports against survivor through. So much that 3 of my favorite streamers got banned just shy of 2 days after this was implemented, and they only play survivor because killer is too easy for them. (Obviously they got banned on PC so they went on console, and the killers were just worse than on PC.) Which literally kills their stream, youtube channel and force them to find something else to play. Seriously sad.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/19450/game-rules-and-report-system#latest
It's underneath "Discarded Report Reasons" If the streamers you followed were banned, they were probably doing something wrong. -
Whispers gives a general location, but not an exact location. BBQ does, though. By all means, stay out of lockers. It really doesn't matter and being caught in a locker is far worse than being found while wondering around and given the chance to loop, get hit twice, and so on.

Honestly, camping isn't all that bad. Tunnelling is the problem. And the logic some people on this forum have said baffles me. One time someone said to me when a killer breaks a gen and you go back on it that's 'tunnelling a gen'. The equivalent to tunnelling is teabagging. Looping and camping are part of the gameTunneling is not equivalent to teabagging whatsoever.
Tunneling is eliminating 1 person from the game to increase your chances of winning and LITERALLY doing your objective.
Teabagging has absolutely nothing to do with the survivors objective, it is SOLELY to taunt the killer and try to make him mad.
I don't see how you could possibly make this comparison.
If we're talking in a general sense, survivor's objective would be to get out and if they're a stronger runner than most of their team, it would benefit them to annoy the killer and get the killer on them by teabagging and so on. As I said, I would compare it more to camping and tunneling more to looping. Both occur while interacting with your opponent, though.

I think in their warped mind, they feel like they are in control because they pulled the plug.
Can't speak for everyone, but if I got farmed or unhooked near the killer and he goes for me I'm out. I just refuse playing with ppl that play unfair. The killer is the power role and they get to decide which one they are following. One in power shouldn't reward an unsafe unhook by going for the unhooked letting the farmer get away without any punishment.
If I'm playing killer I usually find s.o else on a gen instead of staying close to the hook, but if s.o unhooks seconds after I hook s.o they can be sure about not escaping the game.
As a survivor I don't care about the bp I might loose by leaving the game. It's a statement for me. Bp aren't as important as integrity.
Honestly I'll down the person so that the person loses their points, emblem, etc. and then leave that person for someone to get them up, but you shouldn't DC because you were farmed. The only person you're hurting in that situation is you. The person farming doesn't care if the team works, they just want points. And the killer gets points for you DCing. If you find yourself being the first one downed and tunneled off hook often, I would advise taking in perks to help you avoid the killer so that you can gain points.

I think overall everyone needs to stop whining about things that are simply a part of the game. Killers are gonna camp, tunnel and kill you any way that they possibly can. Just like survivors are going to use every item, perk and loop they can to survive. Thats literally what this game is made for lol.Everyone needs to focus on the real problems with this game, like disconnecting and lobby dodging.
My issue is more so the nonsensical comparisons to generators than camping and tunneling, really. Honestly I don't usually bring in items, either, as most games you lose them. Frankies or just plain dying~
Eh, we aren't one dimensional. We can worry over multiple things.
I think the comparison is because when talking about gen rushing, survivors always say "it's our only objective, what else are we supposed to do?" and with camping/tunneling, the killer is also trying to complete their only objective -- getting kills.
I've always thought of it of more of an issue of pressure. You can't pressure the gens if you don't know which ones to go to and you can't pressure gens if someone is running you around or you choose to camp them. I think saving is more of an equivalent of being killed, though escaping from chases could also be considered similar. When I made the post, I was more so referring to those who use terms like "tunneling gens," though.

killers are camping becaue of boil over?

I wouldn't know, but there wasn't any camping because of the perk when I was playing with it.

[BAD WORD] tunnelers. It's acceptable when they tunnel you when there's 2 gens left, I won't get mad at that. But when one guy [BAD WORD] tunnels you when they have 4 gens left or for the whole game, it seriously pisses me off. It's a scummy way to win. I only accept tunneling when the killers got less time to secure kills.
Btw you're not getting me to change my mind on tunneling.
If somebody dies when there are 4 gens left survivors farmed their team mate off the hook, how is that killers fault?
As a killer you are supposed to play bad intentionally if the survivors are bad
When I'm a killer and someone farms, I'll down them so that they lose points and then chase after the person who farmed. Makes it so that someone needs to go over and get them up. I don't expect killers to show mercy when teamed with a farmer. It's kind of expected, but appreciated when they do show mercy. It's why I avoid being downed and hooked where I can while solo, though. That way I can still get points.

When you rush to do gens, and stop to do a gen that's part way done over one completely done, you shorten the time the killer has to do anything, and that can very well lead to the killer having less fun. It's why gen rushes scare killers. Killers absolutely need time. Survivors work to destroy that.
Hm, still that's related to pressure and by tunneling, you're only applying pressure to one individual. Same goes with camping. I understand that when gens start to pop, the pressure on the killer increases as they're that much closer to the end, but pressure is like a snowball affect. I've had games where the start was very good for the survivor side, but the killer got into a really good rhythm and ended with most if not all killed. Survivors work to get out and killers work to stop that, but all efforts to stop someone from getting out aren't equal to each other.
That's why tunneling gens makes no sense. Those are chase mechanics, while gens are objective mechanics.

I'm not against it being a button press and having a cooldown, though. It could be interesting.I think that is the Tru3Ta1ent suggestion. It is a very optimal one, but I'm not sure if the killers have place for a second active button, as killers like clown use it to refill their bottles.
They're not using many of the buttons, so it should be fine. It would probably just mean they would need to adjust the game so that killer's perks can have an activation button separate from the killer's power buttons.

@Peasant I wasn't really camped while I had it equipped. I mean, I feel there's been an increase in camping and tunneling sense the Prove Thyself buff, but I haven't noticed anything special while I had the perk equipped. The people who camped and tunneled everyone camped and tunneled me. The ones who didn't, didn't go out of their way to do so to me. I didn't play with the perk long enough to know for sure, though.

Well, i feel i become more toxic to my fellow survivors now, because of the things i experience.
They unhook you in front of the killer, then bodyblock you to get safely away themself.
They are in a chase with the killer, see you hiding/healing up, and run past you several times, until the killer finally notice you and takes you down.
You are near the hook and want to do a safe unhook, but they rush in, triggering the hags traps just so they get the unhooking points.
Against a trapper, one got downed next to the hex-totem, and while i wanted to heal her, i got caught in the bear trap she concealed with her body. I think she did it on purpose, because she thought noone could get the hextotem without healing her.
And yes, after things like that, i sometimes give up on the hook. But latlely i started to join them. I try to get the unhook for myself, and dont care about their saftey anymore (well, thats not entirely true, if the killer is too close i still shield them with my body, and try to lure the killer away).
But since i use bound in every setup, i can easily find a distraction for the killer chasing me. They do it to my, why should i not?
At least, now i get a decent amount of bloodpoints each game, even if the team often looses. Not everyone purposefully sandbags and throws the killer onto you. I would definitely suggest bond as often people will run to loops and you may be at a loop they're trying to use and abuse. Honestly, you shouldn't be healing within terror radius, anyway. If the killer has nurses, that's a free down, basically. Also if someone was on an open trap and you healed them, they would be caught the second you stopped. 1000 IQ plays lol. It's possible it was reopening, though, and she hadn't noticed. How she was playing doesn't make all that much sense.
If I go for hook, I attempt to do so safely. While it sucks when it happens to you, that person on the hook probably never did that to you and it ultimately kills the team when you farm others. I know it's gonna be a short game when I see insta saves going on. You should be looking to get points by doing gens and by doing other things. If you struggle in a chase, there's guides online on what to do in certain tiles. Your reaction shouldn't be to screw over your team 'cause some do that. You're adding to the toxicity. Just because some people are bad, doesn't mean you have to be.

@PiiFree said:
Technically seen, Camping is like Gen rushing:You limit your playstyle to a specific task that helps you get your objective done while ignoring all other things in the match until it's done, without giving your opponent too much counterplay to handle it. Both are objectives.
Looping is like tunneling:
You're using a tactic that helps you getting your objective done, but it ruins the fun for the opposite side as a result. They're equivalent, looping wins survivors a lot of time and tunneling is a way to slow down the game again quickly. It's really quite simple, if the Killer camps and tunnels, you gen rush and loop. If the Survivors gen rush and loop, you camp and tunnel.
Since all survivors gen rush and loop these days, it should also be expected that Killers tunnel / camp.
Well, gen rushing is often due to a lack of pressure. Someone chasing off two people from a gen would be applying pressure, for instance. Camping is hoping the remaining survivors will make the mistake of wasting time (by waiting by the hook or farming the camped), rather than doing the objective. I can understand you're perspective, but I don't think they aren't apples to apples. I thought it was more like tbagging as it's attempting to gain pressure in the wrong place (with the runner) and you're wasting your own time if you try to gain the killer's attention over and over just to be ignored.
I agree that looping and tunneling are alike, though not due to objective. If you're the last person left in the match or the other one is waiting for you to die to get the hatch, objectives won't be done. I believe they're alike because they're a player interaction with another player, rather than an object in the game. Looping wins time, though due to where the pressure is placed.
I don't think all killers camp and tunnel and all survivors gen rush and loop. Once again, gen rushing is due to pressure being misplaced and isn't the survivor's active choice. Survivors don't control whether they gen rush or not. I mean they could jump off the generators to wander around the map, but that would be like killers checking areas with no gens with no indication anyone is over there. Looping is also one of the only options survivors have in a chase if they don't want to get downed and when playing solo and sometimes in SWF (in a group of two, for instance), your first hook is often your last. Not always because you're camped, but also because the other survivors don't want to go for the save or wait too long to come grab you 'cause they're all thinking someone else is going for you. Either survivors loop, try to shake off the killer or run to a safer area. They don't have many options in a chase.
-
@Zarathos There's perks you can run to help you know where to apply pressure and perks that can help with chases for killers that are weaker in chase. There's options for killers that creates a situation where they may not need to camp and tunnel if they so choose to. Adding a mori to the game would be like suggesting everyone comes with DS or BNP automatically without a perk or an item. I don't think it's a good idea and would probably only end up hurting game play. The people who tunnel are still going to tunnel that doesn't really change anything and it would create a situation where the survivors would have little to no hope in escaping unless they were coordinated and facing someone inept.
Still, looping and tbagging is a survivor and killer interaction the way camping and looping is. Three gen and gen rushing are more related in a way as they both have to do with generators and pressure.

Then they all moved to Laurie, then Feng, then Kate and they're kinda spread out now with Feng's and Nea's seeming to be the worst with Kate and Laurie following behind.
I would say that's more indicative to who's the current favorites and the community, unfortunately. I find that quite a few Claudettes and Davids do the same. I've actually been farmed by Claudettes more than anything else. I don't believe I've been purposefully sandbagged, though people sometimes throws things down while panicked.

I'd say don't bother with WGLF and put on Prove Thyself and Bond. Bond so you can find people to work on gens with (and avoid people running the killer around and find injured people who lost the killer) and Prove Thyself for the yummy bonus. It's so much easier to do than WGLF stacks. You either need to take hit for those or be lucky enough to get them while they're not being camped. If they are camped, they're either going immediately down or you're trading with them and there's your 1 stack.
I'd personally go with Bond, Prove Thyself, Self care, and Botany/sprint perk/Hope. Most of my builds have a solid two perks and the next two are random.

I legit want to know why some killer mains compare camping/tunneling to doing gens when a better comparison would be looping as they both involve players and not a player and a generator. Do they think generators can run and therefore be tunneled? Do they think generators are secretly players, too? It's a poor comparison in all honesty. But I think the reason is because camping/tunneling gets rid of a survivor quicker, gives the killer a slight advantage and survivors hate it. Meanwhile gen rushing makes the game go quicker, puts survivors at an advantage and killers hate it. That's the only logical reason I can think of for comparing them. I'm a killer main but I don't compare them.
Whenever people say you're tunneling a gen, I just imagine running after a gen and it's hilarious. Thank you for attempting to explain it, despite not using the terminology yourself. I can see the slight correlation between how quick things proceed with either side. I agree, though. Still quite a poor comparison.

You know it works both ways....
Genrushing happens when there isn't pressure on the field due to tunneling someone (if they're in their element, leave them) or camping (the only thing everyone has to do is gens). They nerfed BNP so that they didn't have quite the affect they did once before. Once again, looping works well with this analogy as genrushing is typically due to the lack of pressure like three genning would be pressure applied acutely. Looping/Tbagging is what survivors do when in contact with the killer.
As far as I see it, it's just preference. I would prefer if I wasn't camped and tunneled like I would prefer if I wasn't teabagged and looped to oblivion. Gens are just in the background like the kids of an estranged marriage.

I´m rank 1 survivor and killer - which is why I don´t really think/care much about pips, bloodpoints etc. I guess you´re right I´ll try something else. We´ll make it, botany knowledge or something... I like perks that help the whole team.
So many people don't know what to do when given those situations. If people didn't feed into it so much, it wouldn't be as much of an issue, but people want their points. I make a habit of bringing along We'll Make It for the team as well as bond. c: I like protecting people and fast heals are always nice. Not as fast as they once were, but still plenty fast. I've been playing around with Boil Over to see if it's any better after the hook changes. So far, it's inconclusive. Other than that, I just play around with gimmick builds out of boredom and test out things.

If you were downed for so long and no one came for you, the killer may have knock out. Regardless, you could crawl towards people to see if they can heal you. While it sucks to be left on the hook, it's somewhat expected. I would suggest bringing perks to help you better avoid the killer and working in groups if you can. If you're with a friend, that gives a chance for the killer to go after them instead of you and you get more points when you work on gens with friends.

A mechanic like the hatch is fine but I think the requirements for it need adjustments.Every survivor should have to earn the hatch, 2 generators as 4 Survivors is way too easy to get. In exchange, if the Survivor actually manages to earn the hatch, it should be a free escape with no counterplay.
Maybe a time frame in which the last Survivor has to survive and then the hatch opens? Killer wouldn't be able to grab Survivors at that point.
Or add bone fragments that the Survivor has to find to open the hatch. They could find the fragments at the hooks where people got sacrificed or at their corpse when they got morid / bleed out. To avoid camping those hooks / corpses, it would require one fragment less than totally available.
This would require a somewhat skillful playstyle in the end but at the same time allows Killers to end the match before they can use the Hatch. May the better player win.
I like the idea of having to find bone fragments! I agree, something should be done as the hatch is quite boring as is. If they had to search for bone fragments to open the hatch, it could create some interesting sneaky plays. They could also have something spawn in, like a box, and you have to go and loot the boxes to match a key together. The killer would naturally be able to see it like how the Pig can see her boxes.

Yeah, I believe that's correct. If he admitted to it in endgame chat to whoever he was tunneling and camping, they could report him. I doubt the mods could do anything from the forums.

I'm sorry for you then, but getting a Survivor out of the game ASAP is the best way to win the game as it considerably diminishes the Survivors' combined efficiency.
Especially with low-mobility or handicapped Killers, it's THE way to go. When I play Freddy, I tunnel from the very start of the game as I can't allow the Survivors any slack with him or the chances that they'll win will increase quite a lot.
I think what they were saying was that they don't like it when killers tunnel while the game is already going in their favor. Some people get in a rhythm and don't change it up, regardless of the scenario. I foresee tunneling to just get worse with the provethyself buff. I don't believe I've had a game since then where the killer didn't find the need to tunnel. Hope they do something to fix it.

One thing i can agree here.
We play a game where killers are afraid of survivors ... not the opposite, sadly.Hi. I'm afraid of good killers (as in people who play them well). This game really isn't like your typical "ah, scary monster, I'm so scared" kind of games, though. It's more like a thriller. Sneaking around and hiding can really get you into the mood, but you can't expect survivors to be scared of you if you're predictable. I love tense games where you're forced to walk around and sneak. Myers has some really fun, scary add-ons. Wraith does, too, I do believe.

I dunno if I like that idea. It would only benefit you on the hook and it doesn't even benefit you, but your team. While playing solo, you are often left to go into second stage 'cause no one comes to unhook you. People being able to do stuff faster may encourage them to leave you on the hook. That's just my thought on it, though. Who knows.

A lot about the endgame isn't fun to both sides. The hatch standoff is basically a contest on who can wait the longest. So, whoever gets bored first. What you're saying makes little sense, though. Getting the hatch only makes you a "noob" if you're camping it and do nothing to contribute to the team. Whether someone's been hooked never or three times has little to no say on if they "deserve" the hatch, though. It's quite petty and childish to camp and tunnel someone 'cause they got hatch in a previous game.

When I first heard about it, I wondered how much of a problem ProveThyself was gonna be with the buff. I wonder what the plan is, like if there's gonna be a nerf to gens as a whole to encourage people to do them together to make up for it. Gens being done so fast isn't going to be fun for killers. The bonus BP while working on gens together is nice, though. Easier to get max BP for objectives that way.

Is this suggestion so that you don't need to waste a perk slot on a slot? I would be interested on more secret offerings in that vain. For instance, an offering could hide the totem's fire so that people have to cleanse all the totems until the find the right one or set multiple fake totems on fire (as someone else suggested, I believe).

Have you been eating well? Tiredness could be a sign of deficient vitamin D and your nutrition is important. Sorry you've been feeling drained. Hope everything gets better. @JanTheMan I miss the LOL button. That was funny. XD

You need to understand something. Killers tunnel because they have to since the game is not balanced. When you tunnel someone you want to eliminate a beneficial target that can do gens, heal, block, and many other nonsenses. Don't blame the killers for tunneling they have to do it sometimes especially if they run against survivor with friends. No, I understand why killers tunnel and camp. It's to apply pressure and to ensure a kill. That wasn't what this post was about.

Honestly, camping isn't all that bad. Tunnelling is the problem. And the logic some people on this forum have said baffles me. One time someone said to me when a killer breaks a gen and you go back on it that's 'tunnelling a gen'. The equivalent to tunnelling is teabagging. Looping and camping are part of the gameJust like tunneling is part of the game.
Face it, its simply the time efficient solution to focus down on one survivor.Tbagging has no gameplay impact btw, its just toxic
Tbagging encourages the killer to go after them. I, myself, don't teabag, but I know people do it to keep the killer on them.

Looping and camping are part of the gameWhen I was a newbie, I hated it. I didn't know how to hide as well and I don't think I even went to pallets back then. While it isn't all that fun to do or face, it's necessary for certain situations. The biggest issue I think is a lot of people don't know what to do when faced with that sort of situation or they feed into it. Still, the mental gymnastics some people have to go through when an easier and about as unpleasant analogy is present. I think tunneling would be equivalent to looping, though, and camping to teabagging and taunting.
