  • It's balanced poorly with all other sounds. While it was too loud before the balance overall was better.

  • When more people play killer, killer queue times are longer, when queue times are longer the pool of potential survivors you go against opens up, creating more disparity between ranks.

What would be even more interesting is to see the distribution of those matches by rank. In other words, are the # of matches in higher ranks so much fewer in number that the occurrence of those 3-6% overall 4 person SwF matches actually -higher-? Or are high rank killers full of crap about “almost all matches are SwF”?

@Peanits - happen to have a breakdown like that handy?

Since swf matchmaking works based on the average rank of those in a party, I'd imagine that average is significantly higher than 1 in most cases. Especially with the new pipping system.

And the interesting part is, dev had just mentioned that they can't differentiate SWF and SOLO when the player asked for option to killer not accept 4 man SWF recently before the data sheet come out

Got a source for that one? Hadn't heard that.

  • I think this is pretty funny considering they just released party data and 4 man swf games account for less than 5% of all games. More than 50% of all survivors are solo. Killers who complain that every game they get 4 man swfs are actually being outplayed by people with no comms and then they're blaming the non existent comms for their failure. The entity is not amused. How about we give bonuses to the solo survivors? Free kindred and increased gen repair speed maybe.

  • Survivors adapted when they closed off most of the windows in buildings, when they drastically reduced the amount of pallets and spawn locations on maps, when they nerfed exhaustion perks, when they nerfed window vaults, when they changed pallet functionality, when they nerfed flashlights, and many other times.

For the most part, survivors have moved on from all of these things while killers will remain vocal and demand changes for things they don't like, even before they're in the game. As seen here.

  • @Sentry

I can understand being mad that your favorite killer is getting re-balanced, but the amount of posts (here, on reddit, and even steam) dedicated to shitting on a PTB that hasn't even gone live is ridiculous. Not to worry though, I'm sure the devs will side with the highly vocal killer community again before it goes live.

Regardless, The endgame is something that killers have been asking for since the beginning though. They want survivors to leave the match and they want a way to close the hatch. They got what they wanted, but they didn't want it to be balanced and fair for the game overall, which is why we're seeing these posts.

  • 2.7.0 CHANGES: Everyone is crazy 2.1.0 CHANGES: No one complained..

I think the problem with your observation is that in general, survivors have always adapted to changes made and killers have always spammed forums until they get their way. They have even organized multiple killer strikes, which all proved to be ineffective.

Even the most vocal complainers about things like the DS nerf stopped whining about it. Killers will never be satisfied and this is just the latest thing they're going to whine about.

  • So, you're posting in the survivor subforum to flamebait survivors? Amazing.

So you think killers are going to believe you over their own experiences. Thanks.

PS: If you take away the one thing that can help insure killers have less frustrating trials, they're not going to play with you. They are, in fact, going to quit even more. They're not obligated to play with you, and they will stop playing altogether.

Killers don't get lobby dodged for anything other than ping, If you're going to call me a liar because I said survivors get dodged a lot, that's your choice. It's a funny one too considering your response to removing survivor information was to say you would just quit the game if you didn't have information to lobby dodge with. That's just special. You're a very special boy.

Killers do get dodged for other reasons, as anyone can tell you.

I didn't call you a liar, because I do agree that survivors get dodged a lot. Unfortunately for them, it's their own doing. If you spend all your time frustrating your opponent, they're just not going to play with you any more.

    I didn't say I'd quit. Read what I wrote.

Dodge and DC aren't the same thing. People who disconnect when they find out it's legion or nurse are scum, not going to lie. Killers that dc when I run them around for 3 gens are equally scum. That's also not toxic behavior on my part, it's not my fault they can't end the chase quickly. They're at rank 1, they should git gud. Killers aren't lobby dodged for any reason other than ping though, and if you can enlighten me as to how that's wrong, I'm all ears. The fact, however, is that survivors have nothing else to go on in the lobby. A good deal of survivors will also remove items in the lobby if they see someone else has one to avoid being dodged. I see it all the time. There is also the last second switch, which while I find it toxic, I also find hilarious because killers have themselves to blame for it by dodging items and clothing.

Fix the causes of lobby dodging first.

Yeah, it's really just all those toxic things survivors do, such as: Having a toolbox, having a medkit, having a flashlight, having prestige clothing, having paid cosmetic clothing, loading into the lobby within 5 seconds of another survivor, being a twitch streamer, being claudette, being dwight, being jake, being feng min, loading into the game.

    Such toxic.

What do you think you're going to accomplish by pretending survivors aren't toxic? Do you think killers are suddenly going to start playing the game more? Your attitude of brushing away killer complaints as if they were fake, disingenuous, or otherwise irrelevant, is just one of the many reasons why killers are quitting in droves.

The complaint in this thread is lobby dodging and killers are coming in to say that it's not an issue at all, which is literally what the word disingenuous means. Not sure if you knew that by your usage and syntax. The topic of this thread is something that has been an issue for a long time and has not been resolved. You can spend time derailing the point of the thread to whine about toxic survivors all you like, but that doesn't make what you say relevant to the actual topic.

Also, killers aren't quitting in droves. The only time it's taken long to lobby up was when the event first started and killers weren't getting good event points. I'm at rank 1 btw, and dodging happens all the time, regardless of what you do pre-match.

The solution would be to remove the killers ability to see the survivors at all. No names, no items, no avatars. It would be nice to use a toolbox and not have to re-queue 10 times before someone accepts me with a toolbox. Yes, that happens all the time.

Decisive strike is just a better version of deliverance and even deliverance has a prerequisite. Give decisive strike a prerequisite at least.

The prerequisite is that you have to hit a skill check.

  • You have to hook someone before you can break a lantern. It's not hard to do.

  • @Poweas said:
Why are you still going on about this?

I hadn't been around over the holidays because of family, so this isn't a necro or anything. But, your last post insinuated that I was new to the game and hadn't hit rank 1, so I had to make a post about my cheevs, as is custom when talking to dbd players on a forum.

So, what killer do you main?

  • @Poweas said:

Oh that's cute you're trying to twist my words. Firstly, I'm not a killer main I play a lot more survivor and some killer. I just rank up faster as killer because it's easy to double pip as my main (Spirit). Secondly, I never said that lower ranks face more competent killers, I said that you're not facing them in your examples. There's a lot of competent killers at rank 1 and some that aren't. You're facing the ones that aren't and you're only mentioning them. I never said dead hard won't work against good killers. I said it will but I forgot to mention it only works ONCE. You are obviously twisting my words. So you haven't got this 'right' you've got it all wrong, son. I'm pretty sure you're one of those players who shouldn't be in rank 1. I shouldn't be in rank 5-6 (as both sides) myself. I should be rank 10. You sound like you should be rank 15 or 16. You're definitely a new player too if you think that everyone who thinks Dead hard is considered bad by killer mains. You're acting like an entitled survivor main. I'm sure you aren't but you're acting like one.

I've hit rank 1 pretty much every season since launch, and had legacy prestige 3 on multiple characters until my save file was lost. I do have the achievements with the right dates to prove that, if you have doubts. It's nice of you to say that I sound like a rank 15 survivor though, I used to really love going back there every rank reset before they changed how resets work.

Also, I'm not twisting your words at all. You decided to go on about how bad DH is compared to every other exhaustion perk, but it's actually awesome. You also don't seem to realize that rank 1 survivors don't actually even need exhaustion perks. In fact, multiple killers have add ons that cause exhaustion, negating DH and other exhaustion perks entirely. Huntress, Freddy, and Doctor, for instance. What do you do when your BL doesn't proc? Get hooked? Good plan, I guess. Saying that I haven't played against good killers is laughable as well. I've played against Marth88 multiple times and won most of the time. I know he's not the best killer, but he is sort of the darling killer of the killer community.

Further, to say DH only works once shows that you lack a basic understanding of the perk. It still comes in handy to reach the next vault/pallet safely after the killer knows you have it, and if you're going to that vault/pallet even the best killers will swing in the hopes of ending the chase before the vault. You can use that knowledge to fake the vault and hit DH. It's a simple mindgame, which you'd understand if you were a decent survivor or killer. DH is really good, but it requires an understanding of the perk, excellent timing, and situational awareness.

Finally, if you run a certain killer for 'teh ez double pips,' then you're clearly not rank 1. There are no pips at rank 1 and there haven't been for some time now. Double pipping at rank 1 is just a feelsbadman moment because it's literally meaningless.

  • @Poweas said:
There's a lot of baby killers at rank 1 who shouldn't be there. You're not facing 'Competent killers' you're facing people who don't deserve to be there. Its why I stay at rank 6-8 as survivor and rank 5-7 as killer.

So, let me get this right, you're saying you stay at lower ranks to face more "competent" opponents, and that Dead Hard is a garbage perk that doesn't work against "good" killers.

I feel like you're a killer main just having a laugh at this point and that the next thing you're going to tell me is that doing gens is completely pointless. Oh, or maybe that hook saves are always futile because no good player would ever get on a hook in the first place, so why bother saving garbage teammates, right? Please, enlighten me more with your wisdoms.

  • @Poweas said:

A competent killer will never fall for it though, I would since I realy don't care about remembering what my survivors think.

I'm at rank 1 and I've made 2 killers quit already just tonight. I feel like "Competent" killers shouldn't chase the same person for 5 gens and 2 gates. But there they are, at rank 1.

  • Avoid playing solo queue near rank 1 and if you do, dodge SWF groups. This stuff is sadly pretty common in higher ranks, and killers go along with it pretty much every time, especially if you were able to run them at all before you got downed. The only way to ensure killers don't work with survivors to troll you is to run in a 4 man SWF.

  • @Poweas said:

    Balanced landing creates new loops.
Lithe is the worst exhaustion perk by far. Why? Because as a survivor u want to loop the killer 3-4 times and then go to another loop. Lithe kinda forces you to go somewhere else after vaulting.

That's what makes it decent. It's not the worst though, it's JOINT worst with Dead hard. The only reason people think Dead hard is good is because it saves you from messing up but tbh against a competent killer it's worthless, Sprint Burst and Balanced Landing have no counterplay though. It goes like this:
    1. Balanced landing
    2. Sprint Burst
    3. Dead hard/Lithe.

DH is great in some situations though, like when the killer is at the top of the basement stairs and you DH past them as they swing. It's hilarious every time. The speed boost is weak, but that immunity is strong. I've had DH work wonders for me in the past and seen killers get super upset over it, which makes it even more amusing. BL isn't nearly as good for mining salt, but it's definitely a safer perk.

  • With the emblem system you're sort of punished for playing SWF unless everyone is at your rank. At rank 1 I've had some of the best and most fun solo queue experiences ever. SWF can be really frustrating now rank wise, especially considering that rank 1 has no pips anymore. It's made me play solo much more because solo queue at rank 1 makes headsets completely irrelevant. I don't need to talk to people to co-ordinate tricky plays, everyone knows what to do. We pass the killer around when someone gets hit, something that never happens with the rank 20 players that I'm friends with who hit me up when they see I'm playing the game. It's crazy.

  • But if they're detected, shouldn't they be banned before they even get a match?
