I'm always ready but sometimes if it's taking a while to find a match I'll walk out the room quickly or tab to another window and not realize I'm in the lobby and everyone is ready to go!
I’m sure that’s some of it but it’s hard to believe that happens all the time.
-
I hit Ready as soon as the lobby is full, but for some reason almost every match there’s at least one survivor who never hits Ready and the clock goes the full minute. I’ll never understand it.

There's bots in DBD mobile?
Yeah, DbD Mobile has bots. You can either set up custom matches with bots as survivors or the killer and also if someone disconnects a bot takes over for them.
-
Yeah, I’d probably play against bots now and then if they are decent. I played against bots in DbD Mobile and it was ok. 🙂

Mangled/Broken is literally bad for Legion. You want them to waste time healing.
Not necessarily. I like playing Legion with Thanatophobia and chase perks, so I actually want the survivors not bothering to heal. If they heal I still get value, sure, but I get more value when they stay injured and are one-shot downable and have max gen slowdown.
-
Bodyblocking to indefinitely stall the game out so the only option is to disconnect is reportable, but in terms of systems I can think of a couple of features they could maybe add that would help
- Have an internal timer on games where if nothing concrete happens for, say, 5 minutes then the game starts the endgame collapse or simply ends in a draw. For example if nobody scores any new bloodpoints for 5 minutes straight then the game simply ends. That would prevent exploits where a survivor is permanently trapped by an afk bodyblocking killer and unable to reach the hatch or gates to end the match, for example, as well as things like the last remaining survivors just sneaking around in remote corners and the killer simply unable to find them for long stretches.
- Make characters who are afk too long have no collision. Similar to above, this would also prevent that type of exploit.
-
I had a Legion game a couple nights ago where three times survivors tried to hide in a Locker while I was in Frenzy. It’s probably just not an obvious facet of that ability for people that haven’t played as Legion before.

Yeah but, 70 hours is suspiciously close to the MMR change. Doesn't matter if it is tough, the important thing is to know not to rely on hours to play nice.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2924231#Comment_2924231
Indeed. However cheaters do not play well. They are strong while playing like beginners. That's usually how they get caught.
This guy looked like a genuine 2k+.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2924304#Comment_2924304
I guess we'll see if this subject increasingly comes up in the future.
I don’t think that’s correct about cheaters not playing as well as people who don’t cheat. For example there was an Overwatch ban wave where something like 10-20% of the top rated players in the game got ousted, including former tournament players. And this recent DbD ban wave hit subtle cheaters as well because it was based on some kind of software detection versus ingame tickets. Plus in order to have the incentive to go out of your way to figure out how to cheat in DbD you already have to be playing the game enough that you are clearly really into it and play quite a bit.
-
It's worth noting that there was also apparently a massive ban wave a week or two ago, a lot of cheaters permanently lost accounts. So it's always possible to come across someone who played a ton on their banned account and is using a brand new one now.

Yep, the new matchmaking went into effect the day after they posted a blog talking about all the changes in detail. They were on the ball getting that new system in place!

I don't think the healing speed was the problem. Unlimited self-heals can create a spacing issue that a killer can't reasonably resolve. It doesn't matter if the heal takes 10 or 16 or 22 seconds. The issue is that the boon is on the opposite end of the map from the gens or on the second story, and that the killer has to throw the game to snuff it only for it to be re-lit an infinite number of times.
Survivor perks are hard. CoH doesn't make a huge difference in most matches. But you still have to consider what a perk is going to do in the hands of players that are really good and have good game sense. Then CoH becomes broken.
Healing speed is vital. If the heal took 60 seconds nobody would use it since you'd be throwing the game trying to heal yourself that long. If it took 10 seconds it would be way too fast. That number makes all the difference between the perk being overpowered, ok, or useless.
I don't know if the new version with the patch today is good, bad, or in the middle but I can definitely say that exactly how long it takes to heal using that Boon is extremely important.
P.S. I only played one match today, the opponents had Circle of Healing equipped but I have no idea if they even placed it or used it, they misplayed a bit and I got a 4k with Sadako.

No, I mean sharper. As in, significantly less blurry and not ruined by forced AA.
For example, look at the text on Feng's shirt.
I can read the text on her shirt in both pictures. But her hair looks a lot more pixelated in the bottom picture (which is what I mean by blockier).

The second one is noticably sharper.
By sharper do you mean blockier?
-
There’s a couple of dailies that can be a little harder to do than a typical one depending on the setup.
- I find Demo is one like you said because a lot of the time I’m hitting with his basic attack.
- Meyers’ daily takes multiple games if you run Infinite Evil or Vanity Mirror, and it literally can’t be done when you run Scratch Mirror
- Hag’s daily is impossible if you run her red add-on that disable her ability to teleport in exchange for 115% movement speed and slowdown at traps. (It’s not a great add-on but it’s kind of fun to try sometimes. You just can’t do the teleport mission with it though.)
- Hillbilly’s mission is hard if, like me, you suck at hitting with his chainsaw. He can still zip around the map really quickly but if you can’t consistently get the saw hits it’s a rough one.
-
Deadlock is a good perk, it gives you potentially up to 120 seconds worth of slowdown automatically over the course of the match plus tells you which gen is the most progressed at each completion in case which is nice info.
-
Wow, I know Claudette is supposedly in that bottom picture, but I literally can't see her even staring at it. That's bonkers.

Undying. Wraith. Hillbilly. Exhaustion addons for Clown, Huntress etc.

Please don't, none of the things you're complaining about being nerfed above were nerfed solely based on complaints. (Heck, if anything Wraith's lunge nerf was kind of out of the blue based on their internal stats, nobody was complaining about that one.)

Why do you just say I'm wrong? I honestly think it's pretty rude because you're accusing me of lying right now.
Maybe we're playing at different times, in different regions?
It's rare that I don't get good survivor teams, very rare. And I'm losing more killer matches than I'm winning, my mmr can't be high. I still get almost every match good survivors. It doesn't matter if I use an older or a new killer that I've hardly played.
Maybe there are too many survivor players in the queue when I have time to play killer (maybe there are a lot more survviors than killers in my region) who have to wait too long for matches and the game throws everything at me what has to wait the longest.
This is my experience, and certainly not a lie just because you've had different experiences.
I'm saying your wrong because you're objectively wrong when you said
Solo queue is still the worst and most frustrating game mode, and as a killer you always get top squads on comms no matter if you are low or high mmr xD
Your statement is clearly saying everybody has the same experience as what you're describing. They don't.
I didn't call you a "liar". Being a liar implies you're intentionally saying something wrong knowing it's false. For all I know you're just mistaken.
-
Is this another thread where someone thinks “tunneling isn’t fair”? 🙄
-
Again, one has nothing to do with the other.

@IWantCandys said:
Yes, it has been changed. I experience more cheaters than before. lol.
From the matchmaking perspective. Nothing has changed.
Solo queue is still the worst and most frustrating game mode, and as a killer you always get top squads on comms no matter if you are low or high mmr xD
I can definitively say you’re wrong about always getting top squads as killer regardless of your MMR. My better killers get better survivors, my worst killers get worse survivors. I definitely don’t get top squads when I play Deathslinger.
-
This is a false equivalence, whether one is overpowered or not has nothing to do with whether the other is overpowered or not. There’s zero reason to tie them together, if Dead Hard is too powerful it should be nerfed and if it isn’t it shouldn’t independently of what does or doesn’t happen with NOED.
-
Just for reference this update is 22 GB and takes maybe half an hour.

The fence bug has been in the game before the Haddonfield Rework, it was also on old Haddonfield.
But the generator thing seems horrible. I expect to see a lot of Haddonfield offerings because of this.
The generator thing might not be quite as bad since it just says grabs aren't possible but hits probably still are so it's not like survivors are totally safe doing the gens. The fence thing, though, could maybe be exploited a bit.

Because that'd kill any amount of pressure Killers could get from a good Hook placement?
I certainly wouldn't like it if my Survivor got teleported on the other side of my 3-Gen
Or it could help killers by teleporting the hooked survivor to a better spot, that works both ways.

Survivors hiding and waiting it out is boring but I don’t actually see it done too often. And I use corrupt as killer in probably half my matches.
I will post data like that at some point, I’ve been keeping stats on my games on both sides including what perks the killers have, but it’ll probably be a while, I want to get more data. So far I have like 130 solo survivor games recorded and around 230 killer games. (I play way more survivor than killer but kept it to solo queue only to keep the data consistent and not when I play in a swf)
Cool, looking forward to the data dump. 🙂
Yeah I’m not saying survivors hide all the time against Corrupt, it does happen enough that I notice it though.
-
This is one of those times I wish I had access to game data to be able to pivot stats on a lot of matches and see what impact Corrupt Intervention has on kill rates. It’s definitely solidly in the meta, lots of killers swear by it. (I don’t use it personally but that’s only because it can lead to survivors just hiding for 90 seconds and I’d just as soon get the survivors doing things more noisily right out the gate to get the ball rolling. Just a playstyle preference, I have no doubt Corrupt is a great perk strategically.)
If a survivor ever posts data from a large number of matches including the total kills and what perks the killer had though it would be fun to pivot out kill rates versus perk selection for things like Corrupt to see how strong the correlation is.
-
I answered this but forgot I normally have my brightness turned up a notch because in general the whole game is too dark for me (not just Autohaven but all the darker maps are too dark.) But I guess among the dark maps Autohaven isn’t the worst offender, I think Yamaoka Estates for instance are harder to see on that Autohaven (not only are those maps dimly lit but they have tons of dark foliage to hide in too.)
Probably the worst map though in terms of lighting was the old Game before it got reworked. I literally couldn’t see anything in large parts of the lower level on that map, it was ridiculous. The current version is much, much better lit.

As much as I want something to be done about camping, teleporting survivors to different hooks doesn’t make sense and isn’t the solution. That’s an exclusive power for Pyramid Head designed to bypass hooks altogether, for the benefit of saving time but at the risk of not being able to pressure an area (and not utilize hook-related perks).
Makes more sense to me to streamline that non-mobile killer powers can’t be used too close to a hooked survivor, as we see with Twins, Pyramid Head trails, and Artist crows.
Mechanically teleporting hooks makes basically as much sense as teleporting Cages. (To clarify, I’m talking about the system where if Pyramid Head is within 5 meters of someone who is already Caged for about 3 seconds the Cage moves elsewhere.) It was specifically put in to eliminate face camping of Cages.
Aside from technical issues of reprogramming how Hooks work I’m not sure why they didn’t pull the trigger on doing this with hooks as well. Maybe there was some mechanical downside to it I’m overlooking. 🤷♂️

@Pulsar said:
Yeah it should stay but when people would still rather eat a penalty than play the game there may be a design issue.
You don't see many people DC in OW.
For reference Overwatch has disconnect penalties as well.
- In Casual mode you gain a leaver status when you dc that penalizes you 75% of your experience. (In DbD you lose all the bloodpoints for the match which is kind of similar.)
- In Competitive mode they have scaling penalties similar to DbD that start at 10 minutes and increase with multiple disconnects eventually to total bans for a season plus loss of any rewards already earned. (That’s actually harsher than DbD’s penalty which starts at 5 minutes and never gets as long as a month I don’t think? Plus you never lose rewards you’ve already gained in DbD.)
A major difference between Overwatch and DbD in terms of design though is there’s no player elimination during the match and no significant downtime other than during setup at the very beginning. Even if you get knocked out you are only out for a short time. In DbD if you get downed early you could potentially be out of the action for a solid minute or two before either being revived or rescued or even just dying on hook. So there’s a lot more downtime plus the threat of player elimination.
I think that’s why you likely see many, many more disconnects on the survivor side than the killer side. Even though there seems to be a consensus on the forums that killer is the more “stressful” role, it’s also the role that has much less downtime and no threat of elimination so you’re always doing something throughout the match unless you intentionally go out of your way to just facecamp or something.

Don't worry i'm sure they will gut his ass. Then Nurse/Blight number soar even HIGHER.
I don’t think they’ll do anything to Bubba necessarily, but they have specifically said they have been experimenting with systems to steer killers away from literal facecamping. Zone defense is fine but they don’t like how face camping plays out for either side since the optimal strategy when it happens is the other survivors just sit and do gens and (if it’s not Bubba for instance) maybe do a hook trade after 90 seconds or so.
If I had to guess for instance I wouldn’t be surprised if the mechanic they put in place to move Cages around was also kind of a backdoor test to see if it might be a good system for hooks too.
-
I think she's kind of average, was someone saying she's top tier?

Oooh, haven't thought about Mimic for a long time, that was a good movie! 👍 If you're looking for monstrous killers from lesser known movies, another good one is the creature from The Relic. That thing was pretty nasty!

Legion and Sadako. Running around the map in Feral Frenzy, vaulting pallets and windows, and also being invisible half the time and teleporting at will across the map would be insane! 😄

We really gonna go through this again?
You can have matches where survivors play badly and win without tunneling. Exceptions don't make the rule. We operate in probability, not possibility.
You rely on survivor mistakes to win. If they make mistakes you can win without tunneling, if they don't you need to tunnel, hence lots of those videos.
Should we even mention how some of those videos were done when MMR was basically turned off? Should we mention how you probably didn't even watch all the videos to realize some of them were running NOED and specifically stated they tried to tunnel someone out as fast as possible to win? How about mentioning specifically playing during the day to get easier matches?
Nah, nah let's not mention those things, that breaks the narrative.
I'm not sure what you're talking about with "exceptions". The Choy video for instance was 54 matches in a row and he tracked stats and averages. It also was posted in January, not during the MMR test. And in Choy's video he intentionally played 27 matches during the day and 27 matches at night so he could track the differences (he still got more than 2 kills average both times which is pretty impressive considering how the challenge worked, running no perks and being afk 30 seconds at the start of each match.)
Mind you, I have zero problems with so-called "tunneling", that's a pointless buzzword at this point that seems to just be shorthand for "you downed me twice in a row". But this notion that someone these matches were all "exceptions to the rule" is nonsense.

I'm not saying you did any of that, I saw where someone made an MMR comment it was just a general comment in regards to your post because some people believe MMR is a thing and something like this totally disproves it
This doesn’t “disprove MMR” at all. The most likely scenario is this is either offhours when there aren’t a lot of players around or the poster has an outlier rating so is getting backfilled with other players with outlier ratings which there aren’t going to be a lot of.
-
There’s sort of two types of bully squads, one is a problem and the other isn’t. The first type just runs around going for flashlight saves and trying to get chased all match, they’re not doing anything particularly destructive and if you’re any good as a killer they’re not even really a threat since they’re extremely time inefficient. The second type are the ones that abuse exploits to make it impossible to get hooks or downs, those types are more of an issue.
And outside of the game itself there’s the question of toxicity in aftergame chat. It’s one thing to run around like idiots in the match, it’s another to harass and insult other players after the game is over.

Shes way worse than wraith since wraith actually has a stealth ability and chase powers.
She can actually Demanifest and Manifest mid-chase no problem while Wraith comes to almost a complete stop while Decloaking so she's actually easier to use than Wraith in a chase in a way. And she has better map mobility than Wraith, plus a lower height with on and off invisibility which can even make her a bit better than Wraith at not being being spotted depending on the situation. And while she doesn't usually get kills with her Condemned it does provide some indirect slowdown over the course of the match and, if you're aggressively pressuring the survivors, does get full Condemned stacks not that infrequently. (Especially if she uses the Green add-on that adds stacks when survivors heal each other, combine that with slugging and the stacks build up very quickly!)
