Umm no for one... no 1 here said that all survivors or that way. And 2 no one said killers can do not wrong. Just that survs do it more which you'll find most agree with.
You cant just put extreme meaning to the debate that doesn't exist just to try to nullify its truth. Thats just ridiculous.
I'm not trying to add extremes here, that's not my intentions and I would agree logically survivors do it more.
And sure he didn't say that all survivors are bad or killers can do no wrong but I feel it can be inferred that that's the case if you don't mention that both sides can do it. And that I feel can have negative effects.

I've never been attacked by a Killer in end-game chat. Not once. Not ever. Killers simply do not spew vile comments in end-game chat with the frequency of Survivors. I believe people that anecdotally say it happens, but it's so rare it's not worth mentioning. Meanwhile, Survivor ego is so insanely out of control that their end game salt could carry an entire pretzel company and there are Youtubers that dedicate their entire channel to collecting and displaying all the insane end-game reactions they get from salty Survivors. There is no such Killer equivalent.
But you have to mention everything and not just look at the part. By not mentioning that killers do it too you perpetuate an unreasonable idea that killers can do no wrong while survivors are just this terrible awful thing. Which is bad and cause problems.

Except we are talking about an actual frequency here.
Sure but it's important to remember that just because something as a 60% chance of happening it doesn't take away from the fact that 40% of the chance it will happen.
You have to look at the whole instead of just the part. Sure most survivors can be terrible but it's unreasonable to claim that every survivor is terrible.

Give the survivors the ability to hug killers. Because they can use some love.
-
But wouldn't that mean swf bully squads are completely fine?

Define toxicity.
End game chat, survivors teabagging, flashlight clicking, killers hitting a survivor on hook, bodyblocking to prevent the survivors from moving and playing the game. Things like that.

Now your making me have bad feelings

It kind of does, but I don't see why someone would want to ruin other player's fun in the first place.
Well that's a dilemma isn't it? Do you want to punish people playing toxic that prevent people from playing how they want or do you want to let people play how they want and deal with toxicity?
-
@GeneralV said:

Yes, toxic gameplay should be punished. It is unhealthy for the game. And this suggestion, while difficult to implement, could be a step towards making killers feared.
I'm Not trying to say I agree with toxicity but if you punish toxicity doesn't that go against having people play the way they want?

OTR + Iron Will is the counter to stridor spirit. That's been said to me at least 7 times.
Yeah off the record is actually really underrated in my opinion. The ability to hide your aura is extremely good especially against perks like bbq.

This is actually amazing

I think I'm most excited for the new chapter. Especially the new perks.

Idk, this is just a theory. But plans can change. I think they might have heard the community saying that they want a new map instead of reworked maps because "it just ruins the game".
Well a new map would be interesting. I would be interested in seeing the kind if map it is and the theme.
-
Would they really deviate from their original plan to rework the old maps in order to make a new once?
-
I think the new chapters. Are what makes me come back. Also the fact that I have met some extremely nice people and became friends because of the game so that's nice
-
Easier nerf just make the cooldown 300 seconds
But in all seriousness Dance With Me is a synergy perk that is extremely mediocre on its own and truly shines in a build. It doesn't need a nerf.
-
It's the bug fixes for me.
-
Ok would you be interested in a guy survivor who's backstory is that they do drag. Then if they wanted to add a cosmetic that would make them be in drag. Similar to how legion has different characters and can change
-
I think you opened back pandoras box

I don’t have a problem with an lgbt character what I have a problem with is if the fact that they are lgbt is either their main selling point or that it is their only character trait it’s like Claudette and her autism we didn’t know about it until some lore for the tome and that is fine because it is important that characters are actually established rather than just one note and trying to make a character for the sole purpose of being lgbt is very shallow and silly
Thats a valid concern. But im confident I the story team as they have gotten better and has said they wanted to take it seriously when creating a LGBT character.
-
I say wait until the new survivor is revealed and their perks are known to see if you want them or not

I always thought Oppression was a synergy perk. Like you pair them with other perks to get the most use out of them.

You're Right. I apologize if my posts offended anyone.
I don't think you need to apologize. You just asked a question and shared your opinion.
To answer your questions on why it matters I guess the simplest answer is that it feels nice. It nice to see yourself accurately portrayed in any piece of media. And in any piece of media you like characters more when you cam relate to them in some way. Also in the past the community hasn't been painted in the best way and we just recently better representation.
I hope this helps.

You are a making the problem though. And you should calm down, you are the one creating a thread where STFU stands in the title.
we will get representation, the devs want to be inclusive. You will have to deal with this fact.
it is really only such a hot topic because there are people against it. And there is no valid argument against it when we already have heterosexuality featured (otherwise it would be completely different)

THAT'S THE POINT!
All lgbtq people have ever wanted was to be treated like we exist like everyone else does and to be treated like humans instead of oddities. Nothing will change about dbd it will just have a new character that represents a piece of this world that so many try to pretend doesn't exists.

"But this is were good writing comes in and BHVR has shown to be competent writers who can handle this issue well. " I have literally no idea what you are basing this of fof and this is personally one of my biggest fears given their awful track record. Im also worried that at this point, we know SO little about the killer, and this is up front. Im super worried its going to be a big flashy "WE SUPPORT YOU SEE" with no actual care for the character or that it is an organic part of their back story. The biggest problem with LGBT characters is that they are LGBT characters. They should just be characters who are part of the LGBT. If "GAY" is a character trait, its being done wrong. Identity and sexual preferences should be treated as mundanely as hair color or clothes preference. Obviously it means much more to them, and you can touch on that and get into that, but it is a sign of good writing that this intrinsic part of the character isnt the entirety of the character
Have you never read the lore for the characters or the archives? They have good writers and you can tell overtime that they have gotten even better.
Like seriously read the lore from the original survivors and killers and read the lore from New Survivors and killers. You'll see it's vastly different.

@Amy095 said:
Where have BHVR mentioned LGBT? Or is this just another theory that we come up with before every new killer/survivor?? I'm really lost on where this idea has come from ...
From what I can gather BHVR has mentioned in the past that they want to include characters that are LGBT. People are speculating that they include a LGBT character because of the teasers color. It matches the color of the bisexual flag.

No but considering how butchered parts of the game are this needs addressing, not drowned out under the weight of something else. The LGBT character could be done at any point quite easily, these kind of fixes require more work.
You do have a point but I would argue they are somewhat in the same boat. We have been asking for optimization and bug fixes for a long time as well as the addition of LGBT characters in the game. But I will agree we should focus on pushing them to include both.

Marvel sucks anyway. They try cancel Papa John too and actually slandered his good name on purpose despite knowing what context he used the word he used. Twitter doo doo and "cancel culture" as you say for "sad" people with nothing better to do than stick nose in others business and play at being beacon of morality.
I Think cancel culture is a double edged sword. Yes people tend to cancel others for the most petty and insignificant thing but I have also seen people use cancel culture as a way to write off the most awful things and not take responsibility for their actions.

I think the ability will be sound based. It seem like time manipulation would be too ambitious for the devs
-
If it's a time manipulation then you got to balance it a lot right? What would the cooldown on the power be? How would it even work? It just seems like it's going to be a buggy and glitch mess.

I think you should be running a lot more to generators. I also feel that you are trying to make use of fixated a bit too much in a chase, and you also should have use your medkit instead of letting claudette heal you because you miss out on being more efficient.
I felt you should have run more instead of walking and it would be beneficial to know how the killer you are up against plays and how well they do. For example, the first time you were being chased at shack she saw you through the walls so you should have expected that the second time.
Other than that, I thought you played well. Consider changing out visionary with another perk.
Thanks for the feedback I will keep it in mind.
I thinking about switching visionary our for something else but idk what to. I usually take it for In door maps.

I agree that it should be something that’s just casually put into the rest of their lore. The trick is to not make it seem flippant either.
Also I would suggest instead of using LGBTQIA+ we should start using the term GRSM community. GRSM stands for gender romantic sexual minority. It's more inclusive and easier to say.
-
As someone who is gay I would love representation in this game. It doesn't seem to be a detriment to the game. But what I'm concerned about is it being forced and it being the only redeemable thing about the character. They shouldn't just make the character LGBTQIA just because. It should be woven in the story to make them a even better character and their lore.
Doing that shows great writing and better represents the community.
All In all they should do it for the story just as much as representation. As it makes them actual complex characters and not one dimensional expendable characters.

I think the idea of a time manipulation based killer is very interesting but it does sound too ambitious...
sound based is the safest bet right now, but there is also very much they could do with that.
I was thinking about time manipulation but I think that just comes with a lot of bugs and glitches. Given that their track record of bugs in the game after chapter releases I'm sticking with sound.

The only thing I don't like about it is who gets the BP and emblem progression if the person heals themselves with it?
That's s good question. I think you would just get the BP you would get if you healed someone eles. Since the person you healed isn't actively healing you then they won't get points.

Cooldown would be difficult to implement.
Currently, if you heal someone halfway, then you get 25% of your gauge healed. If you're interrupted, you can go heal another soul to full and have 75% of your gauge filled. Its a simple charge conversion.
BUT for a cooldown, the charge conversion would have to work on the duration of that specific heal. What I'm trying to say is imagine this: You try to heal Nea after unhooking her. You start healing but she accidentally moves, ending the heal. Congrats, your perk is on cooldown and did nothing.
100% conversion rate would make the perk alright. I don't think a cooldown is necessary.
I see what you mean. That is a concern. If it's going to be 100% conversation I think it needs to have a cooldown otherwise it would be overpowered.
I think to fix the cooldown issue make it cooldown after you are fully healed. That way if your healing is interupted you can still have it activated. It would also work if you start heal another survivor.
-
I thought about them being Trans because of the color scheme. Honestly I'm for it, it's a nice change of pace. But i just hope they incorporate them being Trans as contribution to their story and not just they are Trans just because. I want it to feel genuine and not forced.

Yeah I had to give up my stealth card. But now I know how to run killers for half a gen so that's a plus I guess.
-
As a former claudette main yes I have gotten hate. I have also been tunneled because they hated claudette. It's why i switched to Adam.
But to be honest I can understand why. Claudette has a terrible stigma of either being toxic, (because of certain youtuber) or either extremely useless.
