I'd say that both sides have this double standard although one is more accepted than the other. I still think face camping outside of all gens being done is kinda dumb.
I agree. I would say both sides have a double standard but one is more apparent and acceptable.
The double standard I have noticed is I regard to toxicity. I have noticed in game and in the forums that when survivors are toxic they are called out for it and it's taken completely seriously. But when the killer is clearly being toxic its not even worrented a concern and thus they get away with being toxic. Sometimes the survivors are still blamed for toxicity.

Ages ago I've made a pretty detailed post about countering my main Deathslinger. It's very old but since he didn't really get any changes, things I said should still apply the same way as back when I posted it. If you want a long read go for it.
Thanks. Deathslinger had been one I have been meaning to get tips on how to counter.

I'm no 5K hour Killer main, but here we go:
Trapper: Do not blind vault windows! Watch for door entrances, especially at choke points and Killer Shacks. Traps can be very hard to see in grass. Remember stepping in a trap gives Trapper a notification.
Wraith: He is now even more invisible, but not silent. Listen for the animal growl he gives off to tip off he is nearby.
Billy: Do not face him in open ground. Billy loves his straight shots. Use twists and turns to avoid getting sawed down.
Nurse: Be as erratic and unpredictable as possible. After her first blink, she will blink again to triangulate the hit. So right after that first hit juke in the most random direction possible!
Myers: Do not try to fake him out. Any kind of "which way am I gonna go?" mind game is an excuse to just give him more stalk. Keep breaking line of sight as often as possible.
Hag: Crouch walk when unhooking survivors and approaching generators.
Doctor: Right after he does his first hook, get in a locker. Most doctors use their big map shock then to find their next victim. Avoid it!
Huntress: Avoid straight aways, pallets, and windows that give her line of sight. It is very common for her to hatchet right into an M1 and down you very quickly.
Cannibal: Avoid other Survivors. Do not group up. If he starts to camp, avoid the urge to whine on the forums and genrush as hard and as fast as possible to capitalize on it.
Freddy: There's not much counterplay. Sorry. Spine Chill helps spot his coming in the dream world, but you don't have much going for you. Wake up when possible. His biggest weakness is finding Survivors, so try to be stealthy and make him waste time looking for you.
Pig: Remember she gets a limited number of hats. Once they are gone, they are gone. Her lunge has a long distance, so if you are going to juke commit to it. Watch out for her crouch, it makes her undetectable.
Clown: Drop the pallets early. Avoid simple loops he can exploit with the tonic.
Spirit: Heal early and often. Staying injured is a death sentence and makes it ten times easier to locate you while phase.
Legion: Exploit his fatigue when frenzy wears off. Avoid being near other Survivors so he cannot chain hit. Don't forget to mend.
Plague: Don't avoid the pools. It fully heals you, and you don't want to be coughing and vomiting and telling where you are at all times. Yes, corrupt purge can wound, but so can her M1 when she finds you because you thought you were hiding behind that rock - you weren't.
Ghostface: Always be looking around you at all times. Do not get tunnel vision when working a chest, gen, or totem.
Demogorgon: Watch for his shred lunge. Avoid being near his abyssal portals.
Oni: Make him earn his hits. Heal up to avoid dropping blood orbs. Use windows and sharp turns to duck Demon Strike
Deathslinger: Avoid standing where he can get a clear shot. It doesn't matter if there is a barrier between you or not. He CAN drag you to a window with his chain and M1 you anyway.
Pyramidhead: Don't try to pallet mindgame. Be wary of generators near a wall, as he can strike through them. Do not blindly run unless you can see the floor to avoid torment. If you do need to move past trails, crouch over it to avoid torment.
Blight: Use windows and other interactives to make him regret bouncing near you. Windows, pallets, floor openings, etc can throw him off.
Twins: Make Victor take corners. Kick him if he misses a lunge. Remember if he downs you and they swap back to her, she gets a Killer Instinct heartbeat to locate you when downed. This can get your friends killed if you accidentally train her into them.
This is amazing thank you so much

Oh, well I missed the part where he said "against'
Anyways, you can still learn from what i said.
Don't let twins get a 3 gen, get inside lockers if you are about to get slugged, don't always kick a random victor, and hold onto victor for the 30 seconds and there's not much else i can think of really.
Thank You. I will keep that in mind and what you wrote before.

Think hes looking for tips to play AGAINST killers, not as them.
My mains being Billy and Blight, the hardest counters are windows and spins. Anytime someone can cause me to miss a chainsaw or chainsaw into an object is a huge loss of time for me. as blight if I need to use multiple bounces and then miss the hit after, it eats a lot of time due to having to continue the chase as well as waiting for the powers CD.
Yes Thank you so much.
I will put that on the list for Billy and Blight
-
I'm excited yet skeptical.
-
I admire your confidence to try the other side . As a survivor main I don't think I'm confident or good enough to play killer at least for a very long time.
-
I feel they should work with the custom perk icon community. It would be nice.
Also i like your icons OP.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
No clue. I know just as much as you do.
We don't know if that's the survivor. They could easily be the killer. I've heard ideas of them being the builder of the new killer. The controller to a killer robot, or something.
I'm just saying, there is no way they are releasing a survivor-only chapter. The new killer is regularly what keeps people interested in the game..
I guess a we can do is wait. I wish they would show a trailer already.
is it finally time for a robotic killer? Because That would be amazing.

I'm still gonna have to disagree. Ash was a paragraph, and he came in between chapters. They've only ever released one character as a full 'chapter' twice, and those were with killers. Ghostface and Leatherface. The Face boys.
They need a new killer to sell the game. The new killer is what always brings in the numbers. Not a survivor alone.
Killer's bring new gameplay, Survivor's do not. They only bring perks.
Ok then but I have few more concern and it starts with the picture with the coffee on their Twitter. It seem the art is different from how dbd is presented isn't it? If it is related to dbd then what could it mean?
Also for every first teaser they always show something about the killer first and not the survivors but with Twitter it seems like they are showing the survivor. If we're going by your logic of killer bringing new gameplay then why show a survivor and not anything on the killer?

Keep in mind, this year they've tried different things in terms of original killers. Blight was teased for ages before he came out. Just because this has never been done before doesn't mean anything.
If they wanted to advertise something else, they would likely use the BHVR twitter account. This is all just lining up too nicely to not be a chapter tease.
You do have a point. But I think its too early to say a whole chapter. I think its possible that it could be like ash and only have 1 survivor join the game.

If their twitter was hacked they'd notify people on the forums, their private accounts would be talking about it, the discord would be in an uproar, etc.
I guess it rules out the hacked possibility

Why would they use the official dbd Twitter then
Idk they probably noticed us speculating on the forums about the chapter and they wanted to play around. The official Twitter never did this kind of thing before a new chapter which is why I'm skeptical. I could be wrong though.
-
@NomiNomad said:

I heavily doubt that. They wouldn't use the DeadByDaylight Twitter if that was the case.
It just seems really out of place. DbD Twitter has never done this before and the fact that the color of the supposed chapter is bright and vibrant, which is odd compared to how other chapters where presented, tells me something is up.
Maybe their Twitter got hacked by someone.
-
I think they are playing with us. It probably has nothing to do with DBD.
-
They are playing with us. I don't think we should take it seriously.

I don't even know. The Pyramid head was running around at mach 5 with insta hitting cheats and somehow spammed the doctor's madness effects with the iri queen addon. He could also kill us without even using the hooks at all immediately.
That was a pyramid head? I thought it was doctor.

They are allowed but just not in insane speeds :)
You shouldn't be able to self heal in less that 16 seconds unless you have an entire build dedicated to healing yourself.
I get what your saying but if you were to make the time longer you would have to give something in return wouldn't you? Increasing the time to heal with a medkit would give way too much power to perks like sloppy butcher, coulrophobia, thanataphobia, and nurses calling. And end up benefiting the killer rather then survivors.

I think for No One Left Behind they can change it's activation requirement
An idea that just popped into my head was what if it was token based and it activated if you meet the required tokens. As for how you would get tokens i think simply preforming saves and healing would be fair and something like 4 tokens would activate the perk, would pair well with we will live forever.
Another one could be you need to preform corporative actions for a certain amount of time say 80 seconds or else the perk wont activate and it only activates after all gens are completed. I kinda like this one better fits the perk and doesn't force you to max out your altruism right away.
I think those ideas are good. It could really make it used more because now it's forgettable and useless.
-
I can't tell if your being serious. Medkits? Really?
Genuine question for you: are survivors not allowed to heal themselves?
-
I say premonition needs a buff. Its so bad compared to Spine Chill. The cool down is way to long and could work against you if you get a false positives. To buff it I would lower the cooldown to 15 or 20 seconds and maybe shorten the cone to be precise.
Another perk that needs to be reworked is no one left behind. I'm convinced this is the most forgotten perk ever and I see no one use it. And for good reasons it only active when the doors are open. It needs a rework.
Thats all for now
-
I wonder what could it mean though? They haven't changed their pf for a new chapter reveal before, have they?
-
I say just keep it the way it is now but make it work if you're in the dying state. If you go down and you have it activated after 20 seconds you get back up.

Aight sry didnt wanted to put any words in your mouth.
Well you know I am for example someone whos obsessed with "having everything". So thats why I prestiged every Killer on 3 to max level. I barely use the skins, its just the satisfaction to know that I got them and that made me happy.
So would you call yourself a compleationist?

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/229891/whats-the-point-of-prestiging-your-character
Thats the point of prestiging dude... its not a necessity. Its just for showing off. If you are willing to do the extra work then go for it, if you dont want to then dont do it. Dont really see why you make such a drama out of that.
I wasn't trying to make a drama out of It I was just asking a question and sharing my opinion on it
If you want to grind out and prestige then that's your choice but personally I think its pointless and doesn't have any real use for anything.

@MongolPSR said:
Don't think there is one for survivor since item usage is so freaking optional. For killer though some killers you just need to prestige to make them more consistent.
Wraith for example is entirely add on dependent. He needs add ons to do well and his add ons are all at the correct rarities, his worst ones are the cheapest, his best ones are the most expensive. If I prestige wraith 3 times then it means I get a 30% more likely chance for greens, 20% for purples, and 10% for reds. It's worth it cause I can more consistently run with his best add ons instead of low tier stuff.
This doesn't apply to all killers cause some killers best add ons are yellows or even browns. Mews guts for demogorgon or yellow bag for trapper, and even brown bag for trapper. Bootstraps for the pig. It goes on and on.
I didn’t think it was necessary for killers to prestige. Ok then
-
@Kolossoni said:
It's an endgame mechanic/reward.
You're not supposed to do it as soon as possible.
If you really want one for a certain character (pre-endgame), then you would need to work for it.
Simple as that.
I guess I understand.
to me it just seems like sacrificing all your perks, items, addons, and offerings to start over for a piece of a cosmetic doesn't seem worth it. But to each his own. ( I think that's how the expression goes)
-
I sorta agree. That's why when I make builds I always try and include at least one meta perk. But not more because it can be unfair.
-
This looks so real!!!
-
I wonder how a match like that would go?
-
As a survivor main im of the opinion you can play however you want as long as it not toxic. Tunneling and camping in not toxic.
Go with God sir.
-
The real question is what happend to the luck mechanic in general. It seems like it was forgotten and we haven't had another luck perk in ages.

Frank doesn’t hold a candle to Caleb... maybe Joey tho
Unfortunately I am console but if I had chat I would try my best to be positive. I always send ggs to Xbox killers
I'm on console too so I also try to be as nice as possible.
Also Deathslinger is cute but I'm on legion side here. Both Joey and frank looks hot.
Regardless all of them need to be shirtless.
-
I'm interested In any changes to make her better while not being overpowered but can we also make it so that she can't stand in front of the boxes?
-
@Phasmamain said:
Firstly shirtless deathslinger 🥵
Secondly unfortunately toxicity isn’t a problem the devs can solve. I played over watch comp for a while so I’ve gotten used to it but just try to move on from it and go to the next match
Actually I think there are steps the devs can take to minimize toxicity. They are already doing it wilt in-game chat
But they could also come out and speak out against it and say they won't tolerate it in their game.
There could also be in-game incentives to lower it. Like say one nice thing in the in-game chat and you get a certain number of bloodpoints or shards.
But ultimately they have to come mostly from the community we as a community has to take a stand against it and do what we would do in real life. If your a survivor and you see your teammate bullying the killer tell them to stop. If you see the killer being toxic speak up. I'm confident the game can be less toxic.
And to OP I would prefer a shirtless legion.

It means it is not the same as tunneling. Killing a tunneled Survivor is the literal Killer objective. A 360 does not grant gen progress.

This may be a PC/Console thing. But not many "good" killers miss when a survivor 360s. It's why survivors use it as a last resort.
I know I'm sorry ignore everything I said. My argument was made from a flawed premise and I came to a bad and wrong conclusion.
