I can't thank you enough for helping with the perks, and if BHVR was a company based in the UK I'd take a job offer from them in a heartbeat as soon as I was eligible
Well You need to move it something because they need to have you.
And no problem on the perks if you need more perk ideas I will help you.

This is absolutely amazing!!!!. You definitely need to be hired because this is amazing and well thought out.

Ignore @lexihvh he’s just a troll. If you look at his earlier posts he talks about playing as a SWF and trying to make killers dc for fun.
DH needs that 1st chase DH removed imo thats the most unfair part of all. Its why DS used to be so brutal because it crippled your first chase if you were unlucky, the new DS no matter how much people complain is still better because it can never activate before the first hook.
Maybe an unhook requirement or a healing requirement. Anything that stops it being used 1st chase would be a huge improvement.
Yeah he did sound like he came off as that.
But I think we should make Dead Hard work before nerfing it. As of right now is not functional using it as intended so we should wait untill it does work.
I say to nerf it put it on a token system. By limiting the number of times you cam use dead hard it would make this more fair and have the survivors thinking when its best and not best to use dead hard. This makes it a more skillful perk.

I agree lets all be respectful and kind to each other.

I highly disagree with it being OP you just have to counter it, killer mains b1tch about everything. Cryers.
Tho I HIGHLY doubt it will get nerfed (thankfully)
I don't know if this was pointed at me but I'm not a killer main. I'm a survivor main.

I have been saying and advocating the solo part since forever but nobody listen.

In case of builds like this i sometimes take Autodidact. Slower speeds is beneficial for me.

@tennmio -->We are not friends. Since you use this term anyway and in the following titled my discussion (unfortunately you did not bring any arguments) as "Shitshow" it makes it clear that you feel intimidated and disempowered by my arguments. Therefore you use this term to feel empowered by defaming me as you believe.
Shitshow was not directed at you. I meant the entire post and comments made. I expected this to get some heat, but not this much and not this quickly.I would like to answer people and share my opinions and get theirs but it is becoming more and more time straining.I should’ve made that more clear so that was my fault.
“I am apparently a sociopath and morally bankrupt for trying to have some fun”
-->This kind statement is an unfair variety and called "lead to absurdity through exaggeration". In doing so, the discussion partner tries to make you unbelievable and ridiculous by exaggerating your statement or the consequences. I reject your allegation.
“Pure egoism or sadism that cannot be excused or explained in any other way.”
These are your exact words regarding tunneling, so i don’t see how i am exaggerating here.
“With all due respect, given your (nonexistent) and my (well-researched) arguments, your statement should be mine.”
How nice of you to assume that only from arguments i made over a video game topic discussion knowing absolutely nothing about what i do in real life.
“I reject your allegation. I understand your expression and your frustration. They just seem very self-centered to me. You have formed your opinion and apparently believe you truly know that it is as you described it (even with the lack of arguments). That is understandable, because if you would allow my arguments to be valid, it would result in a cognitive dissonance and a threat to your self-worth. That's probably why you react with aggression and the attempt to defame me. If my explanations were nonsense, you wouldn’t need to worry and with your reasoning, you could continue to behave as you have done so far without having to question your morality. I don't blame you for trying to insult me. Everyone in your situation would defend their self-worth”
First of all insulting you was just poor judgement on my part.I apologize for that.I admit that i really don’t understand your perspective.I don’t see how can someone expect that a moral code formed by once a tight-net community must still be applicable even though game has evolved and the player base is more than 4 times larger. Failed attemts to ensure that this moral code is adhered by everyone is what causes most of the toxicity in my experience. You can’t expect everyone to follow it, that is simply unrealistic. And since that is the case players get more and more frustrated not because they get face camped,tunneled,t-bagged but because of the repeated assertion of how those things are evil, unspeakable and aren’t supposed to be done etc. Out of frustration they either quit playing or start doing those things themselves. And this causes a repeating circle of hatred between two sides. Other than a select few no one is following these rules anymore anyways. All that is really left is the expectation of it by survivors and the toxicity it causes.Even if what you have said was true, DBD has undoubtedly one of the most toxic communities out there. So how exactly these rules are working for you? Did they make the game more fair and fun?Don’t think so. Most people who quit this game –some of my friends also- quit because what these rules do to the game and the community. They obviously failed to make this community more a peaceful one.So yes i don’t see how abiding moral codes in a video game is a good idea. You are right about cognitive dissonance but that is simply not the case with me.
“Yes, I have a different opinion. We have different opinions and as you said that is ok. You are free continuing to believe that you can do whatever you want online and that it does not affect your moral integrity in any way. But you cannot ask that the rest of us share your opinion. For others, the severity of misconduct does not depend on whether you show it in a group during an online game or offline. It is a misconduct and that is how it is assessed, evaluated and treated. Even if you don’t like that.”
I don’t believe doing whatever online does not compromise my moral integrity. As you said i evaluate my “misconduct” by the effects it has on real life. If it is an action done to someone in a video game let’s just say face camping i use empathy to see how i would feel if i was in their position. Then compare it to how i would feel doing it and go from there.
Effects on real life for person in that position: Negligible(at least for most people)
How i would feel : Joyous
It is not “at their expense”. It is just their moment of frustration compared to my moment of feeling nice. And yes i do care more about how i feel more than how a total stranger feels. No need to be a hypocrite here. If that makes me selfish and self-centered let me be selfish. You can say “you can play in a way that is fun for everyone.” But fun is subjective and i don’t have fun playing by the rules. So why would i trade what i said above to me getting bored and total strangers having fun?Who would do that? Nobody. Because that is not why we are here to play.We are here to play so we can have some fun. We don’t play games to be clowns. So I would say my moral integrity is just fine here.
“Overall your statement amazes me. I assumed that you opened this post in the discussion forum to discuss. Precisely because we have different views, I think a discussion could be fruitful. Either side can present their arguments. That's what a discussion is about. Unfortunately you seem not appreciate a good high-quality discussion. I think it's a shame that you are withdrawing from it. For me the question remains if you are unable or unwilling to comment on my arguments”
Yes i wanted to discuss but i didn’t expect this amount of feedback as i said before. I do appreciate a high-quality discussion, it is just that i am becoming increasingly unavailable recently so i might not be able to comment back, that is why i was trying to end the discussion there.
PS: I edited it and it got deleted for some reason. So this might get posted 2 times.
I feel I should apologize because I unintentionally brought up what is right and wrong which led to this.

I think we have gone off the rails and lost track of the original topic.
To your point about, yes i agree this is a video game but that doesn't mean what he is saying isn't completely wrong. Toxic behavior weather its in real life or a video game is always wrongs and we should all try and condem the behavior.

then it's on the survivors to discourage the behavior by playing better by either not feeding the camper or being better at protecting their unhooks.
We are given the tools within the game to deal with anything people throw at us to "bully" us. Unlike real life, within the confines of the game we have the means to fight back or not reward the behavior. It's on you the player to implement this.
We as players need to stop perceiving intentions behind how a person plays, I believe that is a lot of the problem
I mean, I could take that sabo team I dealt with last week and assume they were trying to bully me by denying me event points, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt and just assumed they were all on the same ritual and destroyed them using my basement hooks instead.
Could be just friends playing around
could be people who just don't another way to play
could be somebody just doing one of the many tome objectives they have to do.
I don't think I agree. The victim shouldn't be to blamed for bring bully.
In real life we do have a means to handle and fight back against bullying, it by coming together and demonstrating that bully behavior will and should not be tolerated.
The community can definitely come together and say that ,not tunneling and camping, but tunneling and camping with the clear intent to do harm and be toxic to another player is bad and should not be tolerate.
Thr victims should not have to do anything in order to appease the bully but the bully should understand and realize that behavior is not right.
I can agree though that maybe we need to stop perceiving intentions behind a players playstyle, but if the intent is clear then we should call it out.
-
I would say to just increase the time and add a secondary effect since not leaving pools of blood is still a bit lackluster in terms of power .

@FrenziedRoach i know i just wanted to answer general arguments made against camping and tunneling. Doesn't really matter though because i know no one gives a ######### about it and community won't change at all. Wanted my opinions to be out there.
I agree with alot of what your saying but I feel what your saying can't be applied to every situation. As I said before people can tunnel and camp to be toxic, and some people find being toxic to another player fun, but that doesn't excuse the toxic behavior. If a person bully someone else for fun does that automatically excuse the bullying?
If a killer is tunneling and camping a survivor with the intention of being toxic because its fun for them, they are a bully.
-
I get what your showing but I feel this is just an outlier in a trend. Sure what your showing is a case in which hitboxes or latency is fine but that doesn't excuse the fact that the overall trend shows that hits are worse then before.

I like the idea behind it. I'd be careful with making the numbers too high, but I think the perk can be simplified into this:
Lucky Break
You've had your share of scrapes and bruises, but luck's always on your side.
Lucky Break is active for as long as you're injured, up to 120/150/180 seconds. While Lucky Break is active, you don't leave any blood trails and the speed in which you are healing or being healed cannot go below 100%.
Lucky Break is permanently deactivated once its active time has fully elapsed.
...maybe not as simple as I pictured in my head, but that's the idea. Basically, you aren't affected by healing debuffs like Mangled, Coulrophobia, etc.
I think I like your idea as well.

Just remove the timer and make it permanent like Iron Will. That's all it needs.
That would be possible perk tiers didn't exist. Also just talking blood pools is still lack luster it would be no different from what we have now. Having another added effect is needed in order it to be at least decent.

The one thing they needed to fix was his instant saw combo. Instead we got cool down on his power, useless addons, a silly scream when he chainsaws, no more charge on pallet stuns, bad animations and bad camera point of view.

lmao 3 tokens is all you need for most games.
Start with 1 and earn others through safe unhooks
That could possibly work as well. But is 3 tokens really too much? I have been in chases multiple times a game and being able to use it more then once.
-
@RaSavage42 said:
A re-work would be better then a straight nerf... But A token system wouldn't work

Forget about pallets.

Look, the World just opened up to you.
Keep your distance. Preempt running away if you think she is coming towards you. Giver her as little information of your position as possible.
Remember, the game is meant to have short to mid length chases. You are not supposed to run the killer through the whole match. Just need to take as much time as you can so other teammates can do generators.
I'm not trying to run the nurse for the whole game. If I do great if not then that's fine. Every chase I go into with a good nurse it ends up being really short and my team doesn't get enough progress on the gens.

That wouldn't solve the problem since survivors can use medkits and really save their dead hards for the right moment.
Which in my opinion is still skillfull. You want to save your dead hard for the right moment.

This
Rightly used, you just make it always to a window or pallet. It does not matter that the killer allready knows you have it, because if there is a window / pallet, you just make it there. It's just so broken, that it has only a CD.
This change would also put a skill factor to it. As its skillful to know when its best and when its not best to use dead hard and save it for another time. It would also keep the killer guessing if the survivors have it or not.
-
I think its fine but if it was reworked I would say limit the number of times you can use it by putting it on a token system.
3 tokens and once all the tokens are used they can't use dead hard again and permanently have the exhaustion status.

@dspaceman20 I didn't make any judgements about camping being fair or not. If you look up in the comment section, i wrote a reply about it. Negative reactions should be limited and people just need to go to the next game. Because it really doesn't happen that often. I agree it can feel frustrating but if you are just attacking other side like a wild beast in the endgame chat then you are the actual toxic player in that trial. Camping is almost never a good strategy if the survivors don't let it be that way. If you really enjoyed playing killer face camping someone and listening them crying in the endgame chat wouldn't you do it regardless of it being fair or unfair? That wouldn't make you a bad person or toxic in anyway if you were to do it. No need for moral codes in video games while the world is still a crappy place with ######### ton of them.
I agree somewhat of what your saying but thats a topic for a different day.
@Crunc2h said:

I agree to an extent, but you have to also understand that it's unreasonable for survivors to expect a killer to get 12 hooks a game. Would that be considered "deserving"?
The game goes by way too fast, especially in red ranks you will not and cannot play killer thinking "I have to 3 hook every survivor". You will lose.
I think I can agree with what your saying. It is unreasonable to think you would get 12 hooks. Which is why I say in some cases its fair to camp and tunnel. But i think it depends largely on the situation. I was playing a game with my friends yesterday and he was camped for the full time he was on the hook. Once he died the killer caught my other friend and camped him till he died. and was that deserved? He didn't do anything except stand in one place knowing we could not save and got two killers. Now obviously this isn't every case but in this case the camp was not deserved.
-
I would also like to bring up another thing you said, in which you make a point to say that camping and tunneling is not toxic.
I would agree with you the strategy of camping and tunneling is not inherently toxic, but the intent behind doing it can be toxic. As I said above I can agree with you that sometimes camping and tunneling is needed in order to help you win, but that doesn't mean it's automatically not toxic. I have been camped and tunneled because I was playing a certain character: claudette. I have even seen posts on this very forum saying that if a person is wearing a certain cosmetic they are going to tunnel them. There is also situations in which a person is tunneled for no reason. Its even entire possible to tunnel and camp someone because of some horrendous reasons because the player is homophobic or racist. The strategy is not inherently toxic but the intent behind it is, and sometimes you can feel intent from the player.
This is toxic no matter how you slice it. I feel there is real dangers behind saying that tunneling and camping has nothing to do with toxicity. It is masquerading toxicity as a strategy.
-
I feel I should commet on the camping aspect of this post. I don't mind tunneling and see that as a strategy. The reason why survivor don't like camping,( or at least in my opinion) is that it doesn't feel earned at all. Its why killers don't like second chance perks like Dead Hard, DS and Borrowed Time, because the strong pressure they give doesn't feel like the survivors earned it, and camping is in the same boat. Like seriously why should the killer get a free hook state or a free kill because they just stood their with nothing the survivors could do. Its even worse with top tier high mobility killers. Killers like hillbilly, Spirit, Blight, and nurse makes even easier to proxy camping.
The fact of the matter is that camping the person on the hook to get a free kill shows you did not do a lot to deserve that kill and therefore feels unfair. Now I know their are certain situations in which camping is good to help you win which I agree, but this is just an overall reason for the negative reaction for camping.
-
I hope so. I would love an original chapter instead of a licensed one.

This is the best Nurse runner I know. He drives me nuts. Luckily I didn't make this montage but he's made me look like an idiot plenty of times. Note that he doesn't make one move. It's a series of moves and his movement is very fluid/snappy. There's usually never any telegraph on it. LOS breaks+direction changes. He also uses the environment extremely well to induce auto-aims.
It seems like he 360s a lot. But is 360 even possible nowadays?
Also thank you for the video. I honestly thought pallets against nurse was useless.

That's pretty much it- but it works pretty well. It's why Nurse is so fun to play against; you don't get to do wacky fun stuff against any other killer.
Fast vault a window, and then slow vault it immediately back the other way? Against any other killer that is suicide, against a nurse, often a good play xD
I guess I don't know how to be unpredictable.

Playing against Deathslinger is pretty hard because you have to constantly look over your shoulder to see when he raises his gun.
If you have a M&K, you can do some pretty fast flicks which can help you dodge a hit. But again, you have to be looking over your shoulder.
I recommend running Spine Chill which will allow you to gain some distance. Also, take note of safe loops and throw down pallets early when you're injured.
What about for console?
-
@xXCAM3R0NXx said:
Deathslinger main here:
- if going into a tight space like a pallet, window or even a doorway, FAKE IT FIRST. Deathslingers are always counting on the survivor to do something predictable like this. If we miss, you can safely go through the tight space. If line it up but don't shoot, just go a different way as lining up shots is difficult.
- Lose LoS (line of sight), we can't shoot through walls.... Simples
- when lopping duck at the right time. Deathslingers have to shoot over obstacles lower than the survivor. So if you see your on the opposite side of a small obstacle, you better duck.
- If healthy dont pre-drop pallets, it just makes our life easier, we shoot: free pallet and a free hit when you break free.
These tips should help you do well, deathslingers love to quickscope as it gives no time for reaction, so use this to your advantage knowing that we won't hesitate or fake a shot, when it's the right time we'll just fire at will lol
Thank you fit for the tips I will try them out.

Yes, it is still using it for distance, but you can't use it as mindlessly as before this way. You have to time it just right instead of just pressing E at any time so by the time the 2-second cooldown of not being able to do any action is over, you can drop or vault a window.
I guess these actions could be considered the same thing, but just in the form of a perk.
I guess I understand what your saying but I still would need to see an experiment with it to conclusively prove it.
-
@Yords said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1943190#Comment_1943190
I don't think it would make the perk useless. For example, you could dead hard during a loop if you think the killer is going to catch up to you right before you make it to the pallet or window and if you time it perfectly you will make it. It would give the perk some skillful aspect to it which would make it feel fairer. But yes, it is an experiment that should be tested.
But what your describing is the same problem right? They still dead harded not because they wanted to dodge a hit but to make it too the pallet, so they still dead harded for distance.
Also I just thought of this but isn't dead harding for distance the same as dead harding to avoid a hit? Because you dead hard to the pallet or window to technically avoid taking a hit right?
-
@Yords said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1943152#Comment_1943152
The 2-second penalty of not being able to perform an action sounds really interesting, it would make it high-risk high reward for players who know if the killer will catch up or not.
Would that really work though? Would it not just make Dead Hard useless? If feel there would need an experiment to see.
-
@Yords said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1943150#Comment_1943150
I think it is still a problem for good killers. It still is powerful in a chase against any killer and it doesn't really matter how good you are. You have no way to stop the survivor from pressing E
I guess this is just from my perspective, because from facing good killers it doesn't seem to make an impact.
-
I think it depends on how close the killer is standing. Also would have great synergy with deliverance.

Just cuz I felt like it, I like to have discussions ready to be posted. I have another one saved for why Trapper needs certain buffs that I might post later.
Ok then. Part of my opinion is above. But I feel its a problem for bad killers and not a problem for good killers. I say this due to what I observed from playing with it.
But if they consider any nerf to it they have to fix it first. That should be priority number one for dead hard.
