  • I can agree that playing killer can be stressful whether or not you're trying to complete a challenge. Survivor tends to be more "fun", but when you play solo as I do, games can get very annoying but I wouldn't say stressful. The other survivors as well as the killer's play style can decide your fate during the match.

For example, the match I had just now as survivor. A few variables decided my fate at the beginning of the match. I was attempting the No Mither Rift challenge, and at the start of the match, the Nea decided to troll and drop the shack pallet and run away. We all spawned at the shack so that's variable #1. #2 is that the killer, The Hag, had Rusty Shackles, Thrill, and Devour. #3 is that I went into struggle on my first hook. At that point, I was just like kill me, lol.

Thats the thing no its not. Not as a solo player. I agree that it is easier with swf and sometimes unbeatable if they know what they are doing. But when i go against a 4 man swf i can still win and have won many times. And other killers can too but they don't. They get destroyed and then go to the forums to complain instead of getting better at the game. They run noed and camp at endgame which nobody likes. For example latest round i played was against a nurse. The strongest killer in the game and she had to resort to camping to secure a kill. Then she said in the post game chat that she could not loop the shack because once survivors get there she can never catch them. That is not survivors being op thats a killer that refuses to get better at the game. And expects wins to be handed to them on a silver platter.

Funny that that Nurse player couldn't end loops at the shack.

Because gens go to fast lol within my first chase and down two gens go...ya I’m using noed till BHVR fixes this miserable mess

Before the changes to Ruin, killers ran NOED and Ruin at the same time in many of their builds. I just don't know why all of a sudden it spiked in popularity. It can't just be because of the generators allegedly getting done too quickly.

Rank 1 survivor here...I haven't seen more than a couple noeds in the last 2 days. What level are you at?

I am ALSO at rank 1.

  • Lol! Lobby dodging doesn't exist anymore. On these new servers, I noticed that survivors stay in the queue together even if the killer leaves. That's so exciting!

  • I want to add that sometimes my skill checks lag out. They lag for various reasons, sometimes even depending on the killer I'm facing. I could be doing a generator just fine and when the killer goes into the animation to hook another survivor, I'll get a wonky skill check at that exact moment that ends up with me blowing the generator 100%. I noticed this annoyance increase more frequently when dedicated servers hit PS4 a few weeks ago.

In theory, you can't just blame others for missing skill checks when some of the time, it's the game that causes misses to happen.

  • Never used that combo before, but now I know not to.

  • Forgot to mention, we both died in the end. I had Unbreakable as a crutch, didn't help me.

  • I'm on PS4. It was a Feng Min.

Coincidentally, after waiting 10 minutes for a lobby, I queued up with that player again. Instantly left the lobby.

  • I play for fun. I don't get mad when I lose anymore. A few times where I've escapes, I don't T-bag. I only do it when the killer does me dirty....but I still end up escaping. As killer, I don't care about rank but if I get two or more kills, I consider that a accomplishment for that match.

  • I was fine with Ruin the way it was before. It's percentage plus:

    T1 - Affects two Survivors

    T2 - Affects three Survivors

    T3- Affects all survivors

Instead of new Ruin, just revert it back to the way it was before. More balance imo.

That's nice to hear. Us Dwelfs are pure of heart bringing festive cheer. Even when we die.

Lol, yeah. I still felt bad though. There was a Jane playing with them that I chased around for a bit but in the end I had to sacrifice her too. Then messaged her explaining what happened, no ill words from her either.

If I weren't doing a sacrifice/kill challenge, I would have just let the Jane farm and complete gens because the Dwelfs had 1 mission only; to jingle their bells and cause cheer 😂.

  • I played a 3-man Dwelf gang on PS4 on Wednesday. They were jingling all over the place, obviously trolling(having a good time). At that point, I didn't take the match seriously anymore because I was filled with such joy. I felt bad for sacrificing everyone because I was doing a rift challenge for 13 sacrifices. One of them wished me Happy Holidays afterwards, so there was no ill intentions at all. Just having fun.

  • I like playing Legion, too. Just go for the lunge before you're touching the survivor, that way if they try to 360 you, you're hit will most likely still connect.

  • I'm indifferent on lobby ranks being presented to other survivors. I did however notice that when I was(and still am a rank 1 surv) paired up with much lower ranked survivors, they practically always got downed within the first 20 seconds of the match and eliminated no more than a few minutes of being in the match. I did sometimes dodge lower ranked survivors because that would decrease my enjoyment in the trial.

This game is unplayable if killers don't have the fortitude to actually play the game.

Developers- limit the information killers can see. Basically show the ping only. As a survivor on PS4 there are multiple instances where I am constantly dodged. I just had to switch to killer so I could actually you know, play the game.

Also, killers. Grow up and play. Cowards.

I made a complaint about that before but people said it was unfair. I don't think it's unfair. Killers get to prep and see what survivors are bringing to the match. It's always a mystery for survivors when we have to blindly prep because we don't know who the killer is.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/107890/exit-gates-spawn-too-closely-together-heres-a-couple-of-fixes

And what will you do for the times when all gens get done correctly? This will make egc easier for normal games and brain dead for the last guy. Limiting hatch spawns will make locating it easier, which makes the second form of escape easier to get. If the killer even fathoms of closing the hatch with a 100 meter distance the survivor could camp gates and get an easy escape 9 out of 10 times if the killer doesn't have any mobility.

That's the plan, assuming the killer doesn't find the survivor first. If the gates spawn on the same wall or practically near each other, the hatch should spawn far away from them. This by no means that the survivor will even escape, it just increases the odds. Why is it fair that the "MVP" of the match has to die due to RNG?

  • Playing her without add-ons is crippling to her power. Playing her with her OP add-ons are definitely strong.

I don't know what to do with her. I think she's fine where she's at. Maybe her add-ons can use some tweaking, like the duration of Vile Purge on interactables can be a bit shorter imo.

  • @NoShinyPony @Heroiq

Not really a story, but killer brought an ebony mori and decided to spam the mori on me forever as I was the last survivor. I did nothing to even deserve the spam. When you walk away to brush your teeth and whatever else and come back and they're still spamming the button, that's wasting more than enough of my time.

  • Not hatch related, but sometime last year, I went to disarm a trap, the animation LITERALLY swung my character Kate around to the other side of the trap thus trapping me in the trap in the process. Trapper had a mori and killed me soon after. I'm sure that issue has been fixed in a previous update since it's never happened again.

I enjoy Solo because of the nature of Solo Survivor's games. It's "Idk what the others are doing but ill try my best to survive or all of us survive!"

I enjoy the guessing game on what my mates are doing.

I'd rather my teammates be trying to get the objective done, or at least getting all the totems, lol.

  • I don't really care about pips, especially not on my killers. I made it to rank 1 a week before rank reset and honestly, it wasn't as bad as the last times I made it to red ranks. I'm the happiest in purple ranks, so I do care about pips just to escape the green ranks.

  • @DaGreenBolt No, I wasn't. I already shared what I wanted to say a few posts ago. Try again.

And your inability to say that is enough for you to label them a coward?

Yes. Maybe "coward" is too mean for you guys, but yes.

  • @TAG Sheesh. After I said I was done with this post.

I would have said something along the lines of, "You would get more kills and more points effectively if you didn't wait around for a person to die each time. Your playstyle would probably piss people off but whatever. Gg anyway."

  • @DaGreenBolt @NoShinyPony Nope. Assumptions are assumptions and that's where our opinions differ. Really, I just wanted to say some constructive criticism on their playstyle and end it with a "gg". For better or worse, most players want no incoming messages so it kind of sucks, and to me it's annoying and cowardly.

Overall, I said what I said, I shared the details of my match with you guys, thanks for reading, and now it's done. On to the next post 😇.

  • I got camped in the basement as many players have. I just ended up letting it go and died after struggling. First hook too. No big deal. If you want to camp/tunnel and that's your play style, go ahead. Just know that for players that do this, other players will eventually not want to play with or against you.

  • Some of you guys are literally assuming, yes assuming that I wanted to harass the killer. You literally don't know what I wanted to say to them had I been able to.

This was just a little excerpt that I wanted to share. Sorry if any of you took it as a negative.

  • @NoShinyPony said:

So it seems you usually send the killers messages if they don't play how you want.

This is one major part what makes the DbD community so toxic.

If you can't say "gg", just move on.

That's the thing. I did want to say "gg".......among other things ?. But the point is, is that I would have still said it.

@Might_Oakk I wasn't mad at the Jake. I just didn't like that he felt the need to give away my location instead of going somewhere else. Had it been me, I would have crawled into a corner or something.

  • I played a new outfit Michael about 20 minutes ago. Had the tuft of hair add-on, bbq, and guess what he did? He hard camped the **** out of everyone until they died. I was the last one left and I found out he had bbq when he came across the map to eventually find me.

I was aiming to get the 2 safe hooks in one match rift challenge. Nope!

  • @Well_Placed_HexTotem Sometimes I think about revenge, but then I read on here on another post that seeking revenge as killer is petty. I'll be petty then. LOL.

  • @darktrix said:

Take solace in the fact that with other survivors like this you were probably looking at a 4k anyway and your soul is now free...to try again in another trial.

There were two gens left and 4 people still alive before I was the 1st one to die. The killer had bbq and they probably didn't wanna make the effort to get me and then be seen. We probably could have all survived but I didn't see how the match ended.

  • I don't like playing killer too much, but when my survivor games overall start going south, I break out a killer and and say hi to the survivors with my knife. It's like the perk, Solidarity, but we share each other's pain. Lol.

  • @yobuddd It ends my suffering.

@TragicSolitude Every match is a different kind of suffering when you're solo.

  • Just check who your currently playing with from the quick menu when you enter the killer's lobby. If you see the killer you don't want to play with or if they're appearing offline, just leave their lobby and wait in the queue again.

  • A few people commented about Prayer Beads, I don't have much of an issue with the add-on but it can really mess people up if you aren't careful.

Top 3 killers I hate going against are Spirit, Leatherface, and Hag, in that order. Doesn't make me a weak survivor, I just don't like playing against them.

I'll look at the proposed changes video someone posted a little bit later.

  • @Rin_is_my_waifu No my friend, I am not new to the game and no, I'm not a rank 14 either. With your user name, I'm guessing you're not down for her being changed in any way.

  • @S_Panda I looked at all the clips and I did see a slight animation change. If you weren't looking at her or blinked your eye, you might miss the animation change. And sometimes I don't catch her body glowing, especially if she's wearing certain cosmetics. Gotta look out of that next time.

@DudeDelicious That happens more often in my games against Spirit then you think. Instant tunnel once she put pressure on the survivors.

  • Oh hell no, there are nothing wrong with keys right now. This game runs on the hope of the survivors escaping(or not). Why would you want to take away the other means of escaping from the survivor away, or to add several seconds for the survivor to open the hatch?

After the 3rd survivor is dead, it's a race for the hatch. If the killer gets there first, they close it and the EGC starts. At that point, they either have to try to get an exit gate open or die trying, which often the latter occurs most. So, you're basically saying that if the killer closes hatch, the survivor can't even re-open the hatch if they had a key? That's utter BS and I don't agree with it.

Don't want a survivor to use a key? Bring Franklin's Demise.

The devs will have to be crazy to do something extreme to keys in the future.

  • @tavdogg11 said:

If I become red ranks and see this as a killer, I will let the survivor who was left behind leave on their way, because that is simply depressing to see that.

Yeah, but a lot of killers still don't care. That situation will happen to them and they'll still kill whomever remains.

  • @drkiwie said:

Once you get into the red ranks instead of this you start to encounter the survivors that rage quit the instant they make a mistake...

Definitely agree! In a match, a Kate was stalked by Ghostface and downed. She DC'd instantly. This was 2 minutes into the match. I was like "YOU B*TCH!". Then another survivor went down and gave up on their first hook. Long story short, I got the hatch after the other person died. This was in red ranks btw. SMH!

  • I agree. I found a hiding spot in one of the new Freddy pre-school map designs and it was actually a pretty good hiding spot.

  • With that being said, I'm guessing you don't dodge lobbies. That ish is annoying. I'm not even a tryhard(I don't use flashlights either, lol), but killers often tunnel those that know how to 360 juke them. I swear, respect the skill!
