For me, it just depends on my session. I have winning streaks and losing streaks. I think my most was 6 deaths in a row. But still, there are days where I escape more times than dying, other times it's the opposite.

Because some killers are mad corny and don't know how to play. They have a camp or tunnel to get kills. Even if the survivor isn't an a**hole they still get camped or tunneled. Some killers don't respect good juking skills either. It hurts their little pride but boosts their own ego.

To what end exactly? That seems to serve no purpose. It's usually pretty obvious if someone intentionally DC's anyway because they just got downed or you are having some interaction with that player that they view unfavorably. If you aren't even near a survivor and they DC (and they aren't on hook or slugged) then it is most likely unintentional.
So you already should be able to tell an intentional vs unintentional DC to begin with. What difference would a different icon make? So you can screenshot and shame someone later? So you can know who has properly earned your righteous indignation? Just get over it and move onto the next game like everyone else.
Calm down there, buddy.
This post is mainly aimed at QOL measures, not to shame, ridicule, or anything else you're assuming.
What I'm saying is that the icons should be slightly different. The "sacrifice or killed" noise plays when someone intentionally DCs and is silent when they unintentionally get DC'd. What if someone didn't hear the noise or not?
I was only suggesting that the icon 'X' icon should be red for intentional and green if not intentional.

I would love it, except it maybe to complex to implement due to how infinite loading screens are, games crashing, etc, we would need to wait for dedicated servers to add this as it would make it easier to implement as you can tell the difference between an intentional and nonintentional DC.
Then hopefully dedicated servers can help bring this in as a QOL measure.

I like everything but number 1. That should never happen. I want to be able to avoid playing with/against people I consider to be a**holes.

Well you don't need to survive to rank up. I play for myself as a solo and aid my team when its beneficial to my progress. There's little point in being the team savior if its bringing higher risk on you with no guarantee the favor will be returned.
Yes. There's been many times that I've ranked up even if I didn't survive. The matches I've been having since I've made this post have been a lot better and I have been ranking up like I've wanted.

People with maps, Small Game, or Detective's Hunch will find those totems no matter how well hidden they are.

The only way I was gonna make it to that pallet safely was if I had Dead Hard.

Throw them earlier?
Let's be clear: I was running through the pallet while spamming the button and I got hit by the very end of the killer's hit animation frames WHILE in the middle of my drop animation. There was nothing I could do about it.

Playing against a Hillbilly, I'm injured and working on a gen next to the exit gate, and two guys get downed and put in the basement. I don't know what the fourth survivor, who's uninjured, is doing, but if someone's going to go for the rescue, it has to be him. Anyway, it turned out he was also working on a gen. Last gen pops, I'm still injured so I go to open the door, and then the other guy gets caught going to rescue the two in the basement. He brings the killer my way, the two in the basement are now so close to death I couldn't save them if I tried, and as soon as the third guy gets hooked, the Hillbilly chases me out the gate.
After the match, I got a message from one of the guys in the basement.
Him: Coulda helped us
Me: I was injured. I thought the uninjured survivor was gonna go for it.
Him: No he needed gens so we told him to finish the gen then get us but the killer found him
Me: I couldn't possibly have known that. I was working on a gen, then I opened the exit gate. By the time I saw the other guy get hit, the two in the basement were down to a sliver of life.
Seriously, what is the correct response to, 'You should have saved us. Also, we told the other guy to finish the gen then get us.'?? Why was it cool for the uninjured guy to work on a gen but not the injured one? Plus, they messaged me after the fact even though they could see that I was working on a gen.
Considering the second guy was downed going to saving the first guy in the basement, and the Hillbilly didn't interrupt me or the other survivor while we were each working on different gens, that really suggests the killer was camping the basement and any attempt to save those survivors was a suicide mission, but maybe I'm overestimating Billy being able to check more than a single gen in a 30+ second timeframe.
I've also had a survivor message me after I escaped because I didn't rescue them off the hook when they had Adrenaline (how would I know that?), even though the killer was a Hillbilly with NOED on a wide-open corn map.
@TragicSolitude I recently made a post about being a solo survivor and whether or not I should be selfish and worry about myself. There's been too many times where I've been let down by my teammates so now I'm starting to just worry about myself and only myself. If my teammates go down too fast or if I determine that they are not worth saving, f*** them, I'm going to get my points and (try) to escape. I'm tired of being nice and helping out randoms only to potentially die in the end.
You've did the right thing not saving them because if you did, you would have most likely died trying. Sometimes it's beneficial to think about your own self-preservation, especially if you're playing by yourself.
-
Am I the only one that rarely gets hate mail while playing killer? Guess I'll count myself as lucky, I guess. I play on the PS4, too.
-
Soloists have to work so much harder to stay alive but you need your teammates to do so, especially if you want to pip. At least the EGC gives you the option to escape when the odds are against you.

I play by a rule I have made for myself during solos if the survivors manage to get down in 10 seconds I let them die. No point in saving a team that can't last 10 seconds when you can make a chase last a minute easily.
Maybe I should do something like that. I swear, if it wasn't a necessity to rely on mediocre teammates, I'd be happier.

Add me Kikki, I have the same problems on PS4, currently rank 8, It'll be nice to play with a teammate that isn't a potatoe.
Everyone can be a potato no matter how many hours they have. Sometimes you're the MVP of the match, sometimes you're the potato.

I ran around a pillar twice on the Temple of Purgation map and avoided his hits at close range. His power can be countered if the game works in your favor.
I think his chainsaw hits should be 4-5 hits at max, not 6, but that's just my opinion.
-
I can even go as far as to say that if someone does DC, a generator is automatically completed. But I had this complaint more before EGC was introduced.
-
@Kiskashi No problem. Positive and/or critical feedback is better than most people saying "get over it" or "git gud".
-
From either side, I only say GG if I was outplayed or if they did a good job. But not often because I sometimes don't feel like it.
-
Based off the comments, the OP complained about something but then disregarded his argument and now wants this thread deleted. What was this thread about anyway?
-
As the survivor, you've just gotta play it smart(and also be lucky). Take my match from yesterday as an example. Hillbilly closed the hatch and I noticed that the exit gates were decently spread apart. I was already close to an exit gate when he closed the hatch and I progressed the exit gate before the 1st red light appeared. Billy came to check the area before running back to the other gate. When he came back to my gate, it was just opened and I escaped as he tried to lunge at me.
Just gotta go for it sometimes.
-
I don't mind the EGC from either side. If the killer finds the hatch, the sole survivor is basically dead(if the don't have a key). To counter this, the exits gates would have to spawn across the map from each other to give the survivor an actual chance to open one.
-
Well, what does 'props' actually do? Is it viewable by players or does it help outweigh the negative strikes if you were reported?
-
Read the 2.7.0 patch notes. They will tell you ALL you need to know about the current live build.
-
^^
Also, I use standard gaming headphones or my regular earbuds by AKG and I hear just fine.
-
I think they can still hear you when you exit the blink and cool down phase when you're close enough to survivors.
-
The PTB patch notes stated 15 seconds. The live build didn't mention about the gates so I assumed they took it out. Apparently, this topic should be null and void.

That meme makes me feel old. I was a teenager then and its a teenager now.
Nah. It just came to mind after reading everyone go back and forth in this thread. I like her, but I hardly use her. As a killer, I don't mind her as my TV is HD and bright so I don't have trouble seeing her if she's hiding.
-
Ruin is a drag but it does help you get better a skill checks. I don't mind Ruin, but having to go through it 6 matches in a row is annoying. As a killer, Ruin does help you gain an edge.
-
The Plague- Her poison is so annoying and always gets me.
The Clown- Is it me, or does he move like a rocket sometimes? That combined with his concoction that slows you down, makes a dreadful recipe.
The Cannibal- I still hate going against him because most people troll with his power. And people camp a lot with him.
Other than that, I can do fine against all the other killers.

LEAVE HER ALONE! You are lucky she even performed for you PEOPLE!
LEAVE CLAUDETTE ALONE!..Please.
Leave Claudette Alone Please. !
Leave Claudette Morel alone!right now!.I mean it.!
Anyone that has a problem with her you deal with me, because she is not well right now.
LEAVE HER ALONE!

Play killer during these events as you'll often get much more bloodpoints anyway.

Don't use the fountains...
That is a strategy with several faults: You cough, you leave a green fog around you, you poison everything you touch, and you have permanent broken status, which hinders your team if the killer has Thanatophobia or something.
-
Everything that was mentioned by everyone above. There have been plenty of situations where I am the only one actively doing gens or I'll become the sole survivor because everyone goes down to quickly or other teammates don't go for saves.
After a rank reset, there was a situation where me and two other teammates were on a gen and another teammate was hooked by the killer halfway across the map. The gen was about 15 seconds from being popped so I decided to go for the save. I turn around and the other two survivors are running for the save as well, so I turned around and went back to work on the gen. I forget how the match played out but each of my other teammates took turns being hooked until they were dead.
-
Apparently scratch marks normally last 7 seconds. Lightweight either fades them faster or reduces them by 6, 5 or 4 seconds.
-
These rules I can stand behind but you're not going to change anyone. Some people just live for toxicity and to be total dicks. Respect lost for the many people I've seen complain and demand a refund about this game. Just go to your local game trader and sell it to them or to someone else to get some money back.
-
Can we just wait for the PTB to drop and see what it's about before we start bitching about everything? We don't even know how all the add-ons are reworked for The Legion yet.

I think it has to do with The Legion update the CM posted under the News section.

I did the quiz and I didn't get a score. Did I do something wrong?
And for the last question, I put that NOED is a hex perk 😅
-
I play on the ps4 and I will not play against a killer that is appearing offline. Past experience has taught me that killers that appear offline are usually jerks that grief survivors but usually commit "unbannable" offenses. I wanna see the person I'm going up against so I could know whether or not I should avoid them.

Guess not. Those people are special.

This game is all kinds of f'd up and you must adapt to the constant changes. If you can't do that, then as the devs say, play something else. Ciao ✌🏿
-
Yeah, I think she is strong in most circumstances as it is.

A perk like this does show some promise. Leave no scratch marks after stunning a killer for several seconds. I like the idea.

The hell is this window vacuum you speak of? As many times as I've been hit through the window while vaulting....

I haven't played SWF in a while so I've mostly been playing solo, which adds to the frustration.
I made it to rank 4 before the 2.6.0 update and I haven't left it, yet. Let's just say, out of 20 survivor matches, 80% have been safety pips, 19% have been pips, and the other 1% I have lost a pip. It's easier to pip the lower in rank you are with this new system but when you get to the red ranks, it gets much harder. In the red ranks, they expect you to have a great match every time in order to rank up but we all know getting a great match consistently isn't realistic.
-
I've noticed that very recently with pallets even moreso when they nerfed them last year. During (2) matches yesterday, I was being chased by The Pig so I wanted to pallet stun her because I didn't have enough space to loop her. I was already injured but as I stood there to drop the pallet, it seemed like my character dropped the pallet slowly and of course I was hit through the pallet.
During another match, I was running through the pallet while spamming the interact button and it took my character forever just to drop the damn thing and I literally had enough room to drop the pallet without getting hit. Again, I was hit through the pallet anyway.
Pallets are trash and you can only get lucky to stun the killer with them most times.
-
I don't miss the event. After reading some of the comments, I never ran into someone that sandbagged me for getting a lantern directly before them. My friend had that happen to her once, though. These events make people play very funny and I don't mean "funny" in a good one.
-
No Mither- Start the trial healthy but when hit, broken status effect is applied for the duration of the trial. Only other survivors can see the broken status, the killer can not.
